Man the chart from chaper 51 is crazy. The way it foreshadows Marccille being a half elf is crazy. Not only us Marccille in her base form in the elf box the only person who's acting differently showing her not fitting in the box, but it shows the clear difference in Marccille's features and full elves, and human Marccille is almost identical to her normal self with the only real differences being jer ears and her facial expression; with the expression once again being its own indicator. At first glance it's just a cute little bonus page for a fun chapter but in reality it's fucking foreshadowing using the art without saying a word. I'm honestly having trouble putting into words just how amazing this story is.

Cdramas will create scenarios where hyper specific things are romantic ie when your crush agrees to go dig up a grave for you and removing the remains to be reburied. And its your grave actually. And im giggling about it like yay #roadtrip date #gravedigging date #unearthing (literally) my identity date. Something soooo delicious about how she JUST stood in front of everyone in the emperor's court incl the princess and the emperor himself and her former husband and said everything she could to convince them shes jiangli and she turns around and brings xiaoheng to the place she was buried alive and all but confessed that she is xue fangfei and that differentiated treatment between the love interests vs how they treat everyone else is a such an important cornerstone of a good ship. has to be well written of course
