I've been selected to participate to a big ass international demographic study from the UN concerning my own situation in my country. So in 2025, when you'll hear on the radio or on TV "French people are depressed, anxious, don't want kids and hate their job", know that I'll be officially one of the "french people" 🤞

Conflicted Feelings Part 8
Tumblr media
Ryan was silent for a moment, as was I. Finally, I heard his voice. For once, he wasn't being the classic Ryan Reynolds, he was being the concerned friend, Ryan. "What do you mean you're not happy?" He asked, a bit confused by my admission.
I sighed, running a hand through my hair, "I don't know. I just- I mean shit, I just had a part in the biggest film of my career. I'm getting calls from my agent to audition for major roles in upcoming films. This is just not the right time." I exhaled deeply as I thought about how my career would come to a screeching halt.
I heard him sigh over the phone, "The films will still be here. Probably not the ones you're being asked to audition for, but there will be more films. I'm guessing you haven't told him?"
I chuckled, "I literally just took a test before I called you."
I could hear him begin fake hyperventilating over the phone as he used an over-dramatic voice, "You mean...you mean...I'm the chosen one?" He asked, causing me to laugh.
"Goodbye, Ryan." I said jokingly.
He chuckled, "Just tell him. He loves Oscar and Ava, but I can promise you, he'll be stoked to have his first biological offspring."
With that, we ended our phone call as I continued pacing the NYC penthouse waiting for Hugh to return from his morning bike ride through the city. Being a mother was not exactly something I wanted. I love kids, sure but I love other people's children, especially when I can give them back once I'm tired of them. This would be different. Not to mention my career being halted, but the fucking media and Deb are going to have a fucking frenzy whenever this comes out.
20 minutes, or for me what seemed like an eternity had gone by. I heard the lock on the penthouse door turn, which meant Hugh had finally returned. He walked in and smiled at me as he approached me, quickly pecking my lips.
"Morning, Love. I didn't want to wake you." He said softly as he walked towards the kitchen to grab some water from the fridge.
I forced a smile, "Thank you." I said softly.
He gave me a curious glance, "Are you feeling any better?"
I shrugged, "I don't know. I think I'm going to lay back down for a bit." I said as I turned towards the bedroom.
He gave me a half-smile as I turned, disappearing into the bedroom we shared. He knew something was up, but I was hoping he'd just pushed it off on the fact that I'd been feeling like shit. It had been 10-11 months since he showed up to my hotel room in LA to tell me that he and Deb had split up. We'd been having unprotected sex for months, I don't know why I was surprised to see a positive pregnancy test this morning.
As I laid in our bed, a million thoughts ran through my brain...How I'd tell him, how he'd react, how I'd react to his reaction. I was shaken from my thoughts as I heard him walk past me and walk into the master bath. He looked at himself in the mirror, brushing over his stubble with his fingertips. He glanced down, spotting something on the bathroom counter and stared at it for a moment.
Shit. I realized being in a panic when I saw the test, I must've forgotten to discard it before I called Ryan and spent 30 minutes pacing the fucking floor. I nervously bit my lip as I scratched my forearm anxiously, nervously awaiting his response to the small stick he was holding and had his gaze locked on. He looked up at me, eyes not completely wide, but they were definitely wider than usual.
"Are you..." He managed to say while looking at me to make sure what he was seeing was accurate.
I slowly nodded, it was all I could manage to do at this point in time. My words were completely failing me and even if they weren't, what the hell would I actually say? He sat the test down on the bathroom counter and quickly walked over to me, sitting in front of me on the bed. I could see his eyes glossy as if tears had begun forming in them.
"Baby, this is incredible." He said softly, with a trembling voice. I sat silent, which he quickly noticed, "Don't you think so, love?" He asked me softly.
I sighed, taking a deep breath, "I..." was all I could manage to choke out.
He grabbed my hand, interlocking it with his, "What's wrong, babe?" He asked softly, his expression a mix of worry and anxiety.
I shrugged, shaking my head slightly as I exhaled deeply, "I've worked so hard, busting my ass to pave a career for myself, Hugh." Tears were beginning to threaten to spill over my face, "I'm finally getting offers for major roles. My career is finally starting to blossom the way I'd always hoped it would...Now that's over for me."
He shook his head, pulling me into his arms, "Baby, no. Don't say that. Your career is not over, love. You may have to take a hiatus in a few months, but you can pick up right where you left off." He said reassuringly.
I nuzzled my head into his chest, sighing again, "It's been so hard to get where I'm at. I can't just come back months later and demand bigger films."
He chuckled as he ran his fingers through my hair, "Babe, I can always help with that. There are loads of MCU movies that always want lead roles for developing characters."
This was so easy for him. He had a massive career. He wouldn't be the one out of action due to a big pregnant belly. He didn't have to fight as hard as I did for a major role, spending years as an extra or a small role. I knew he was only trying to be supportive, but it was irritating me that he made this sound so easy to just get back into like I hadn't skipped a beat.
He rested his chin on top of my head, "You're not even the slightest bit happy about this, are you?..." He asked, barely above a whisper.
His voice was full of emotion and it broke my heart. He and Deb tried for biological children, which resulted in two miscarriages. That's when they adopted Oscar and Ava. He was no doubt their father, but I knew the feeling of having a child that shared his DNA and was biologically his, would be a big deal for him. I felt guilty for not being as ecstatic as he was.
I shook my head, "In a perfect world, this would be maybe the best thing that had ever happened to me." I said softly, "But I'm selfish and my career comes first..." I continued, almost instantly regretting the words that had left my mouth. I knew they were a low blow.
I heard him take a deep breath as I felt his body stiffen while the sound of him sniffling went through my ears. I looked up at him, seeing the heartbreak my words had caused him and I instantly felt two feet tall. The last thing I'd meant to ever do was to hurt him.
I sighed, "Honey, I love you. I'm sorry." I said softly as I caressed his cheek. "I'm just in shock." I shook my head as I huffed, "I know that once the shock of it passes, I'll feel differently. Right now, I'm just heartbroken."
He looked at me as he let himself give in to my hand on his cheek, nuzzling it. "I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I know that regardless of what happens with my career, I will love this child. I just have to... fully accept that things will be different." I said softly, still caressing his cheek. "Everything will be okay." I said as I kissed his forehead.
He gave me a small smile as he turned his head, placing a soft kiss on my palm that was still caressing his cheek, "I love you, gorgeous."

warnings/tags: (fluff!) , teacher / chaotic (but sweet) reader.
a/n: i had so much fun writing this help me i love u to whoever suggested it
wc: 1.9k !!
summary: you're a teacher whose putting in the work for summer school students, you wake up late one day and even though it seemed like the most inconvenient thing ever, it worked out in your favor after all.
NOT PROOF READ + ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE.
The morning sun spilled through the gaps in the curtains, casting stripes of light across the tangled mess of blankets in your bed. You blinked groggily, your eyes heavy and puffy from too little sleep and too many regrets. As you rubbed the remnants of last night from your eyes, your phone buzzed insistently on the nightstand, the screen lighting up with a string of missed calls. Four from your ex, two from his best friend. A dull ache settled in your chest—a reminder of things you’d just rather forget.
You groaned, realizing you had returned none of them. Not that you had the time, or the patience. Rolling out of bed, an overwhelming wave of yesterday’s choices washed over you; you reeked of sweat and something faintly reminiscent of cheap wine. Your gaze flicked to the clock on the wall—12:30. Oh shit. You were late.
With an urgency you hadn’t felt in days, you scrambled to gather yourself, moving your hair out of your face as you stumbled towards the bathroom, your heart racing along with the consequences of your procrastination.
you stumbled into the bathroom, splashing cold water on your face in an effort to shake off the fog of last night. the cool rush did little to calm your racing heart as you hastily brushed your teeth, already scanning the small space for something—anything—that was clean to wear.
just as you reached for a shirt that suspiciously looked like it might’ve been worn yesterday, your phone buzzed again. the caller id read “mrs. henderson,” one of your students' moms. with a sigh, you answered, knowing you had no choice.
“hello, mrs. henderson,” you greeted, trying to inject some cheer into your voice.
“yes, ma’am,” you replied, wincing at the urgency in her tone. “yes, i am on my way right now, stuck in traffic.” you glanced at the clock again; the minutes were slipping away.
as you hurriedly threw on a wrinkled pair of pants, you glanced out the window and noticed the swarm of cars barely inching along. your frustration bubbled over, and without thinking, you shouted toward the street, “come on! move it already!”
“ugh, you know how it goes during rush hour,” you continued to mrs. henderson, half-exasperated and half-amused at your own antics. “yes, almost there, buh bye!” you ended the call with a shaky laugh, shaking your head at the chaos of your morning.
with adrenaline pumping and a mounting sense of urgency, you quickly pulled a sweater over your head, choosing to ignore the wrinkles. tugging on your shoes, you grabbed your bag and took one last look in the mirror. you could only hope today wasn’t a complete disaster—and that you wouldn’t have to dodge any more frantic phone calls.
Tumblr media
you got out of your car and parked in guest parking, the summer sun pouring through the window, painting the seats in golden hues. instead of lounging on a beach somewhere, sipping piña coladas and listening to the sound of gentle waves, you were stuck in summer school with one specific student. your friends were sharing stories of tropical adventures while you were grading notes on multiplication and grammar. it wasn’t that the student was a bad kid; in fact, she had been a solid performer until the semester began to slip away from her. she was bright but had a stubborn streak that kept her from doing anyone else’s work, that is, until she met you, ms. [l/n]. the school administration figured that since you had built such a great rapport with her, why not sacrifice a little vacation time to help ensure the girl wouldn’t flunk? and if they thought you were just going to say yes because you felt bad... then yeah, they were right. god you hated teaching summer school.
as you arrived and, rushed down the hall, you hit the button for the elevator, tapping it with increasing impatience as the minutes slipped away. the elevator door stood stubbornly closed. you groaned and hit the button again and again, tapping it with a combination of desperation and frustration.
“having trouble?” a voice chimed from behind you. you turned to see a tall figure walking toward you, his frame around six feet tall, effortlessly commanding the small space. he had tousled dark hair, and his cheekbones were high and defined, complemented by a slight smile. his eyes were a striking shade of hazel, an unusual mix that seemed to shift with the light. he wore a fitted black shirt that accentuated his lean frame, paired with dark suit pants. he looked almost too perfect—a professor-type, but a bad one. like someone who could educate you on the theory of relativity and then do things to you you would never forget.
“uh, yeah. it won't budge,” you admitted, feeling a flush creep up your cheeks as you briefly noted how attractive he was. he approached the elevator panel and swiftly pressed the actual button—of course, the one you had been mashing fruitlessly. the elevator doors opened with a soft ding, and you stepped inside, feeling a mix of gratitude and intrigue.
“thank you,” you said, glancing at him as the doors closed. you stood next to each other in the cramped space, and you couldn’t help but eye him curiously. he seemed absorbed in his own thoughts, occasionally looking down at his hands. you couldn’t figure out why he was so quiet, but you didn’t dwell on it for long; your focus was on arriving to the door.
as the elevator hummed its way to your destination, you noticed the number flashing above the door. to your surprise, you were headed to the same floor. just as you reached it, you both instinctively moved toward the door at the same time.
“oh, after you,” he offered, his voice smooth and lightly teasing. your heart raced again, not just from the sense of urgency but also from how charming his laugh was. you couldn't help but notice the way it seemed to echo around you, making you want to hear it again.
“no, please. after you,” you insisted in return, and you both found yourselves caught in an awkward dance, both trying to let the other go first, unable to decide who should step out first.
“after you,” he repeated, laughter dancing in his voice, and just like that, you nodded, cheeks slightly warm, before stepping out of the elevator. as you walked past him, you felt the warmth of his presence lingering, and that laugh—oh, God if you weren't so late right now...
Tumblr media
you sat across from your young student at the small kitchen table, surrounded by a mix of colorful worksheets, pencils, and books. The late afternoon light poured in through the window, casting a warm glow over the room. The little girl diligently worked on her times tables, the crinkled paper a testament to her determination.
As you glanced occasionally at her progress, you couldn’t help but feel a sense of fulfillment. Teaching had its challenges, but moments like these reminded you why you loved it. You caught yourself smiling—genuine, unfiltered joy spilling over as the girl successfully rattled off another multiplication fact. but you also caught yourself remembering the tall man in the elevator, you smirked to yourself even more.
In a moment of concentration, she looked up and noticed. “You’re smiling a lot!” she blurted out, her eyes wide with curiosity. You chuckled softly, caught off guard by her observation. “I guess I am,” you replied, trying to keep your tone light.
“My neighbor down the hall works for the FBI,” she announced with an important air. Her youthful confidence was contagious. “He’s a profiler or something, and he says that when someone’s smiling a lot, it means that something happened to make them happy.”
“Yeah, I saw something that made me happy alright,” you said lighter than you intended, before a wave of realization washed over you. maybe that wasn’t... appropriate to say in front of a fourth grader. Your mind raced as you searched for a safe response.
“What does that mean?” She asked, you stammered and stuttered and asked. “Well, uh-- Hey would you look at that its almost time for me to go.” She looked at you curiously, clearly pondering what you’d said. There was a peculiar wisdom in her gaze, and you quickly ushered her away.
Tumblr media
After a final glance around the apartment, you slipped on your coat and grabbed your bag, feeling the familiar excitement of stepping out into the bustling world again. The hallway felt cozy as you made your way to the elevator, your footsteps echoing softly against the polished floor.
As the elevator doors slid open with a soft chiming sound, you stepped inside, your mind drifting to thoughts of your next tutoring session and the plans you had for the weekend. Just as the doors were about to close, they jolted back open, and a man stepped in—tall, with tousled dark hair and a warm smile that lit up his face. He glanced over at you, and you instinctively looked up, catching his gaze. In that moment, time seemed to stand still amid the commotion of your lives outside.
A smile broke across your face, a soft, inviting expression that mirrored his own. And without thinking, you spoke up, "You came in this morning, but you're leaving this afternoon." you said, without thinking. It sounded creep to me, but he understood what I meant. He nodded, "Yeah my job it uh-- I work for the uh-- Behavioral Analysis Unit for the FBI." your jaw drops, and he looks, but not limited to, concerned. "Is everything--" "Yeah its just uhm, funny enough my student, I think she was talking about you today-- I teach, so," you mutter out, letting out a breathy laugh.
"She 'profiler..ed'? me, I guess. I was smiling and she knew that something happened this morning to make me smile. She said she got it from you," he looked in complete and udder awe as he let out a chuckle. he nodded, then thinking for a bit. The elevator dinged, and instead of parting ways there, you guys walked the parking lot together. "Anderson? The little one," He said, making the motion with his hand to the side of his hip. You nodded your head in agreement. "Yeah she's really bright," he adds with a smile.
You agree with him, and look at him with curiosity in your eye. "Why were you smiling this morning?". The question lingers through the air, as he gives that laugh, that laugh, that he gave this morning that you almost risked everything for, filling the silence.
"You were staring, really hard." You feel your whole world shatter in embarrassment as those five words escape his lips, you laugh out of complete shock and horror as he can't help but begin to join you out of response to your reaction. "It's okay, it was just funny. Plus, I was too.". You let that stay in the air for a bit— those gorgeous hazel eyes looking down into yours, you smiled. And that's all you did. He walked you to your car, making sure you got there safely. And before he could walk off to his own, you spoke out. "Hey would you— happen to have a card? Just incase I wanna talk to you about, profiling or, the right buttons on the elevator." You say, realizing how stupid that sounding coming out. But he didn't think so, not at all. "Or incase I just wanna, talk to you..." Your voice fading out as he walked back over to you. Spencer Reid.
"I'll be expecting a call from you, you know. About, the right buttons on the elevator." He smiled, chuckling out. You nodded your head. 'will do...' you thought to yourself as you turned the engine on, letting the rumbling of your car fill your ears for a moment.
oh thank, God, to being late.

As you opened your eyes, they squinted quickly as the bright sun hit them immediately.  After blinking a few times, they tried to take in your surroundings. You were in the passenger seat of your car, the green signs on the highway were moving extremely quickly past you. It took you a minute to focus to see what was on the signs but soon enough you caught one that said Stockton 75 miles. That meant you weren’t too far off from where you were headed before you ran into the person at the wheel of your truck currently. That thought made you immediately snap your head over to see the blond haired man, hand on the steering wheel, white knuckled, his reaper hat holding back the oiled hair from the sleepless night prior.
“You look like shit.” You spoke up, clearing your throat as you did, placing his jacket that he had draped over you on his backpack.
It was the statement he had said to you when you ran into him at the truck stop last night. It was meant to be humorous but once he got a good look at you, he realized it held way more truth than he expected. The genuine concern is what brought him to load his Harley in the bed of your truck, and continue your drive out to Charming for you.
Staring at the smile growing on his face sent you back to the days you were falling in love with Jax Teller. Back when he had the kutte without the weight of the office patches.
“Didn’t want you to feel left out.” His voice sent a shiver through your body. It had been half a decade since you last saw him. It made you look him over more closely. His hair was longer, Jax always sported the long blonde look but this was a lot more lengthy than before, like something had happened that led him to forget to get it cut. As you looked at his beard, you thought maybe that was more the sign that things hadn’t exactly been smooth sailing for him. Your eyes moved down to his kutte, despite being new to you, the vice president patch on his right was dirty and worn.
“You think we could stop somewhere for me to freshen up, I don’t really want to jump scare my brother.” You started to look through your backpack for your toiletries as you spoke.
“Was planning to go to my place first, I know how you are with him.” His knuckles tightened on the wheel as the sentence left his mouth.
You weren’t sure whether you were annoyed or comforted by his statement. You knew exactly what he meant, and it was unreal to you that despite the insanity of this situation, you could still fight about the same things you fought about then.
“And how am I with him?” It was said in a way that you both knew the answer, but you wanted Jax to humor you, or maybe you just wanted to finally win this fight. You stopped your search for whatever in your bag and looked at him, eyebrows raised waiting for an answer.
“Cautious.” He spoke the word immediately and you felt the argument practically line up in your voice like it was muscle memory.
Keeping your relationship a secret was ultimately what broke you both up. And that’s what made you move back to the east coast where you and your brother grew up.
Jax followed up his statement quickly before you could let out a syllable of your argument. “For the record, I get it now. I think I was still a stupid young kid wanting to flaunt my girlfriend around.”
This was completely new to you.
You looked him over again and despite the distressed look to it, you caught the fresh stitching. The patch was not only new to you but new to him as well.
“I guess being the second in command makes you mature.”
“Makes you see what people can handle, too.” His voice was firm as he spoke, eyes still on the road.
“He wouldn’t have been able to handle it.” You agreed knowing your brother well. He was fun-loving, caring, hilarious, but he had demons. And if anyone else’s found their way to him, you knew it’d break him because he’d try so hard to take them on his own. Not saying Jax and your relationship was bad, it was surprisingly one of the better ones you’d been in, but you knew by having that, you’d be taking away the one thing that kept your brother stable.
“He gonna be able to handle what brought you out here?”
That snapped you out of your thoughts. Your eyes said it all but he didn’t even need to be looking at them to feel your shock and need for explanation.
“I saw the blood in the bed of your truck when I was loading my bike. Thought I’d taught you better than to leave behind evidence.”
“That’s mine.” It was so pointed how you said it.
That made Jax’s brow arch in curiosity. As fucked up as it sounded, it was relieving to you to be talking to someone who wasn’t shocked by the possibility of mysterious blood or being on the lam from a crime. To be talking to someone who almost found curiosity in the thought of the situation.
“I got mixed up with this group of friends out east.” He didn’t need to pry the information out of you, this was never an issue between you, sharing your thoughts with each other, talking through everything, was never the problem. Telling other people was. “Real party kids, you know, we were drinking, doing drugs, having a good time, until we weren’t.” You took a deep breath before getting into the depths of the story.
“We were hanging out on the front porch of someone’s house, it was late, or early, however you wanna describe it, and someone rolled up, I guess someone brought a friend who knew some not so great people.”
Jax had a feeling he knew where the story was going but he wanted to hear it from your account.
“I got stabbed.” This part of the story was so straight to the point compared to the rest. The context here didn’t matter much compared to the lead up.
“Still missing the part where you got blood in your truck.” Jax was only saying this because you stopped talking and he knew there were pieces of the story missing.
This was where it was hard to say what happened, partially because you couldn’t believe how stupid you were to let this happen to begin with, but also since it was traumatic.
“They tossed me in the bed of the truck and left me there to die.”
Jax’s grip got tighter against the wheel and he sucked his lips into his teeth, the anger rising as he thought about it.
“Obviously I didn’t.” You tried to lighten the mood.
“And you decided to come back here.” Jax nodded, fully understanding the story.
“After I killed the person who left me to die. Who just happened to be the one who stabbed me.” Again, the words came out with no lead up, just the point.
Jax’s eyes darted to you when you said it. Funny enough, it was what he expected the situation to be. An ex got abusive, it ended badly, or maybe an accident when you were drunk, but the thought went out once you ended your story.
“Did–” He was beginning to ask how you handled it, you knew that was what he was wondering.
“I handled it. No trace. I was coming back here just because I needed my family, needed a familiar face.”
“Sorry this familiar one looks like shit.” Jax was now trying to lighten the mood.
“It was an unexpected one too. I wasn’t even going to come to the clubhouse, was going to go straight to a motel and then right to Juice’s.”
“No love lost, I see.” He let out a laugh.
“More like too much love lost.” You leaned back in the seat and placed your feet up on the dash.
__________
You pulled back the shower curtain and wrapped the towel around your body, turning to wipe the fog off the mirror and stare at yourself. The shower brought some life back to your face, but the only thing that was going to make you look well rested was rest.
As you opened the bathroom door, you started to talk loud, calling out and asking if you could take a nap but your words got cut off as you slammed right into Jax whose hand was raised to knock on the bathroom door.
“Sorry.” He chuckled and stabilized you by wrapping his hands on your bare arms.
It was at that moment that the both of you realized this was the closest you’ve been in years. You felt Jax’s breath on your face, it smelt like coffee which made you smile inside. Something about the domesticity of him in his home drinking his morning cup of coffee.
“I was coming to see if you wanted french toast or waffles.” There was that domesticity again.
“Jax Teller, who used to burn eggs, is offering me french toast or waffles?” The water was still dripping down your skin as you spoke.
“Alright.”  his head twisted to the side as he laughed and then looked back at you, his finger now on your shoulder catching one of the stray drops before retracting his hand and looking back at your eyes. “They’re pre-made in a package from the freezer, was just gonna toast ‘em, not get all fancy.”
“I’ll take both.”
“Both it is.” He was turning around to go back into the kitchen and you felt your breath exhale the moment he turned.
You both never got a chance to eat together, he came back to ask you about coffee or orange juice and ended up in his bed. Breakfastless and clothesless.
As much as it broke you to sneak out, you did it. Sneaking out like this reminded you of what you were trying to leave behind, but now, you had to remind yourself of how safe you felt being here. With Jax. You stepped into the kitchen and saw the toaster housing the burnt french toast accompanied by the burnt waffle in the slot next to it. You laughed and grabbed both, they’d still be better than the junk you were eating on the road. Grabbing a pen you left a note on the table for him.
Thanks for everything. Taking your burnt breakfast and heading to my brother’s. See you around. xx
With that, you were leaving. It was late afternoon now, meal times didn’t really have a time clock when you were traveling with no sense of time. Driving to your brother’s at this point was like muscle memory, you didn’t have to give it any thought and before you knew it you were there.
One thing about Juice was that he’d always welcome you with open arms and no questions. Okay some questions, but none that ever felt forced or pointed.
“Hey! What are you doing here?” He was so chipper and genuinely excited to see you as he opened the door.
“Refugee looking for shelter.” You smiled back and brought him in for a hug.
“Come in.” Juice pushed the door open completely and with his free hands moved to grab your bag out of your hand.
Immediately you felt like a piece of scum in his pristine apartment and you hadn’t even had the grime of the ride on you anymore. “You live here or just showcasing the place?” You teased him.
He sucked his tongue to the roof of his mouth and made a clicking noise. “I like to keep things neat.”
“I know we lived in the same house together for years.” You looked at the art on the walls, the only sign that someone made a home of this place. There were pictures of you both, pictures of Juice with your childhood dog, pictures of the club, SOA flags and Harley memorabilia.
“Hey I have this in my bag.” You smirked and moved to grab your backpack from his hands, he still hadn’t dropped it anywhere likely because he wasn’t sure where it’s place was in his sterile home.
You pulled the photo out from the side pocket, it was wrinkled and folded, the complete opposite of his.
“It’s before I started sponsoring, when I just worked at the shop.” He smiled, grabbing the photo from your hands. “You brought me and the guys homemade turkey sandwiches.”
“You always left your lunch at home.” You shook your head at the memory, “I hated coming by with just food for you.” It was true, you’d make a sandwich for the 4-5 guys that were working that day. It became a sort of bit, the guys were crossing their fingers that whenever Juice was working with them, he’d forgotten his lunch. It helped that you came with a bag of chips and a 6 pack along with the sandwiches. That’s what the picture was. You, Juice, Jax, and Lowell eating turkey sandwiches and washing it down with a beer.
“Everything okay?” Juice’s voice got solemn as he spoke, still looking down at the photo.
“It is now.” You nodded with a smile.
“You need my help with anything?” This time his voice raised an octave, in a more happy way.
“Just a place to crash.”
“Second room’s all yours.” He waved his arms in the direction of the room because he knew you were well aware of where it was.
“I’ll be sure to disinfect my bag before putting it down.” You teased him with a slight push and made your way to the room that used to be yours years ago.
By the time the two of you caught up, you leaving out the big details that you easily shared with Jax, it was nighttime. He brought you to the clubhouse, excited to share your arrival with the guys, and just happy to have his sister back in town.
You were plopped on one of the picnic tables as some of the club sat around you, laughing about some joke Tig just said, most of you laughing at him more than with him. Your beer was nestled in your hand as you sipped slow on it, not really feeling like getting drunk much these days.
“You’re nursing that beer.” Happy’s gruff voice alerted you. It was soft enough that only you heard him.
“Long drive cross country, it’s making me more tired than anything.” You explained, it was partially true.
But Happy saw through it.
“You killed someone.”
If you had been drinking the beer you would have spit it out by the abruptness of his comment.
“Excuse me?” You frowned and looked at him, you probably met this member a handful of times but you didn’t know him like you knew some of the other crew.
“I can tell, you got that vibe.” He nodded his head, his voice extremely raspy.
“That vibe?” You raised your brows.
“Yea, that life ain’t hold the same innocence vibe.” He answered you quickly.
“How would you know what that vibe is?” You were playfully asking now, knowing that it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if anyone here knew what you did, but it wasn’t something you were just blurting out.
He laughed at that and didn’t answer the question. “Don’t worry your secret’s safe with me.”
“You freakin’ out our guest, Happy?” Bobby was walking out from the clubhouse, followed by Juice with a new beer for you despite you still not having this one nearly finished.
“Happy?” You frowned and looked at Juice as you grabbed the beer.
Happy grinned and lifted his shirt up to show his abdomen littered with smiley face tattoos and suddenly with no explanation at all, every question you just asked in the last 5 minutes was answered.
“Oh.” You grabbed your nursed beer and finished it off quickly before moving to the new and cold one.
Before the conversation could continue, the sound of two motorcycles cut the sound of voices out completely. Your eyes moved to see who it was, even though based on who was here now, the options were limited. You caught a glimpse of his long locks when he took the helmet off. Instinctually your eyes jumped to the movement of the person who came in behind him, tall and burly, and despite him still being far back in the shadows, you knew it had to be Jax’s friend Opie. With ease, your eyes moved back to Jax as he brought his hand through his hair. It was oily again, or still, which had you starting to wonder what his day looked like after you left.
“Jax!” Juice called out from behind you and it brought you back to the current moment as Jax approached, taking off his riding gloves with a big smile on his face. “Look who's back on the west coast.” Juice was beyond excited to tell Jax, the thought of bringing back the days when the group of you would hang out clearly driving his enthusiasm.
“Yea, I–” Jax was about to say how he ran into you the night before, you knew it, but your eyes went wide and your head shook just ever so slightly as a hint to let him know you didn’t want Juice to know. Luckily you were behind Juice on the picnic table so he wasn’t able to see it but Jax did clearly.
What wasn’t clear was how he was taking your action. He seemed a little upset, but also he had a slight smirk on his face.
“Yea, I see that. It’s good to see you.” He changed his sentence, his eyes staring at you.
Behind him was Opie who clearly was aware of what happened between the two of you and was trying to hide his smirk from the awkwardness between you and Jax that only you three hopefully could feel.
Jax took a step forward and you moved off the picnic table to stand. His arm raised to bring you in for a hug.
“Thank you.” You whispered and squeezed him a little extra.
“No worries, as always, secret’s safe.”

Hey Konnie, I'm going to share my success story with you.
So, for context, I've known about the void for I think over a year and I've been in the LOA community since I was 8. I've also had the most disgusting life all around especially when it came to my spiritual life but that's not important right now.
I've always been lazy when it came to the void, like on one hand I was like "Finally a method that guarantees success no matter what" but on the other hand I was like "Ugh, this is too much I don't feel like doing this right now" and kept making excuses. Because I knew about waking up in the Void State I'd go to bed and just fall asleep after listening to subliminals and affirming thinking that was going to do anything for ME personally. (P.S. just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for you.) I did this for MONTHS and kept wondering why it wasn't working. Like I knew I was lazy but I just really couldn't bother at all...until recently.
I decided that I wanted to change and that I'd go back to the basics of the Void. I switched out the subliminals that I used before and created a fresh playlist. Link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLA_GYb1XT6i7XafhzWTNCnerDt1x9HOiz I simply worked on fulfilling myself internally and went within entirely. Then, two weeks ago I randomly decided to just "meditate" into the void. So, I just laid down, stayed still and RELAXED. I didn't even think about the Void, my attention was to simply relax and be. Eventually, I did relax to the point my body went slightly numb so I took it as a sign to start affirming for the Void. The affirmations I used are "I am" and "I am void". I started experiencing soooooooo many symptoms such as the floaty feeling, losing my senses, the darkness behind the eyes getting darker (I wanted my void to be pitch black hence why it got dark) also that really weird eye fluttery thing idk what that is called but yeah I had that too. I was literally spinning and my heart was about to jump out of my chest istg BUT I focused on my breathing and my affirmations.
Then the weirdest thing happened. Now, mind you, I've NEVER gotten this close to entering the Void IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. But I kid you not, I felt myself literally DETACH from my body, well I more felt it in my face/head because I couldn't feel my body but you get the point. Like I felt HOLLOW like WHAT. I was internally screaming and I started to smile because I was like "I'm finally entering the void after how long now." Buttttttt when I was literally five seconds away from entering the Void completely my lovely father came in the room to ask me something so I OBVIOUSLY snapped out. (Still salty btw) But I can tell you that I was 90% in the Void and they weren't lying about feeling pure bliss and happiness and feeling calm as well as being one with yourself because I felt it too. And when I "got out" I felt SO SMUG cause I was like, I finally figured out what method works best for me AND I know when and how to do it.
So, my directions in case you want to try it out.
Go to bed around 30 minutes - 1 hour earlier. Or do it when you're going to take a nap, but it works best for me at night. Also, make sure your eyes are like slightly burning, not ask why just trust me. but not to the point it's watering just enough to make sure you're a little sleepy and will make you relax easier because I find that works best.
2. Then, relax your body and allow all thoughts to float by, don't pay any attention to it. Also, focus on your breathing. (You can do breathing techniques but I just went with a slow but natural pace of breathing, for me of course)
3. ANY SYMPTOMS IGNORE THEM ALL!! It may be hard but honestly, it's kind of like ignoring someone when they talk shit- bad example but you knowww. Just focus on breathing and affirmations here.
4. Make sure to affirm when you are ready, trust me you will know because it'll be like a gut feeling. Or when you feel really relaxed like you're in a tropical paradise or something just start to affirm. Also, I would imagine things that I'd be doing in my hr (home reality) because affirming is kinda boring after a while so I interchanged them.
And that's about it, I think the important thing to take away here is to do what works FOR YOU. If you know that this method doesn't work for you but you saw it works for me, that is not an invitation to change your method. Also, remember always that the void IS YOU, it will not exist without you so don't put it on a pedestal. You got this always and have fun living your dream life. You were born a master of the void so no excuses.
Also that new subliminal that you made is LITERALLY the only sub I use now and it's BOMB. But I obviously linked my playlist bc I used to use it.
OMG IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!! Thank you so much for using my subliminal and most importantly sharing your success! It’s the truth! Find what works for you and R E L A X I know you will get in again!! TSYM for linking the playlist too! 💕💗💗

JOSH POV
i wake up to the sound of my alarm blasting in my ear. i quickly shut the annoying sound off and check the time. 6:30. perfect. i get up and stretch before heading to the bathroom. unsurprisingly sam is already in there, no doubt styling his hair. and they call me a diva. i bang on the door "Cmon sam other people live here too"
Sam yells through the door "i got here first, you can't wait 10 minutes?"
"We both know your gonna spend an hour in there. Hurry your ass up."
I hear Sam yell something else but its too late for me to hear as i walk back to my room to check my phone. I smile as I see a text from y/n.

𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 :)
i smile at my phone before hearing Sam finally getting out of the bathroom. I run to it before he has a chance to change his mind and take another 40 minutes. I finish up my morning routine which consists of showering, personal hygiene things, getting dressed and grabbing all of my stuff before walking downstairs. Im just about ready to leave when I hear Sam behind me.
"Hey Josh? Can I catch a ride to school? Jake took my car to see valerie again and he's not back yet, surprise surprise.
I consider telling him no, as I'm sure he doesn't want to see y/n this early, but that thought is quickly replaced with the possibility of them getting along.
"Yeah sure Sam let's go"
Y/n would never come if she knew Sam was invited, and Sam would try to find another ride if he knew where I was going. So I decided not to tell either of them. Maybe they could put their differences aside for one morning, and maybe that could turn into a couple mornings, and before I know it I'll be an uncle. Okay maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but it would be nice for them to be friends at least.
Sam and I get into the car and drive. I see his confusion through my peripheral vision as were not driving on the road we normally go to school on.
"Uh Josh? Where are we going?"
"Oh did I not tell you? Were getting coffee this morning... With y/n." I try to fight off the grin creeping onto my face, but just let it take over. Sam looks at me like I just shit in his Cheerios. He scoffs writhes in his seat like a toddler. Typical sammy
"Are you kidding Josh? Yeah I think you forgot to mention that. Asshole."
I chuckle "youll thank me one day"
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean"
I simply shrug my shoulders and smile. as we pull into the parking lot I see y/n through the window of the tiny shop on her phone. i smile at the sight, while I'm sure Sam had a completely opposite expression. I park and have to bribe sam with a free coffee to get him to go inside with me. We make it inside and make our way to y/n, whos jaw clenches as she sees sam dragging his feet behind me. I say a silent prayer that this won't go nuclear, But knowing them, this will be world war three.
Y/N POV
As I see Josh come around the corner, i smile widely. but as he closes the gap between us, i see the raven haired boy strolling behind him. There goes my hope for a good morning. i get up to greet Josh, pulling him in a hug, also preparing to reprimand him for bringing Satan himself.
"Hey kid" Josh says, searching my face for a reaction.
"Hey" i lean up into his ear to whisper, "why is he here?"
"He needed a ride since jake still has his car, seeing you know who"
I nod and feel my eye twitch "can he stay in the car"
Josh chuckles "itll be fine y/n, who knows, maybe you'll enjoy it"
I roll my eyes and chuckle. We sit down and a waitress comes to take our order with a smile
"good morning guys, what can I get y'all?"
Josh answers first, reading the lady's name tag, "good morning to you too, 𝘚𝘢𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘢, Could I get a chai tea latte please?"
"Of course," she says smiling at him, clearly charmed by him already. Josh always had that affect on people. "And how about you guys?"
"Matcha latte" "Matcha latte, please" Sam and I say at nearly the same time. We look at each other, both of our muscles tensing, making a cloud of tension overcome the quiet little corner of the shop. we stay like this until he clears his throat, "actually just a coffee. Black" he says as he fixes his gaze onto his interlaced hands resting on the table. Sabrina nods, clearly confused. She smiles and says "yeah I'll be right back with those" Josh sends her an apologetic look which she smiles at and walks away to the counter.
Josh chooses to ignore what just happened, turning to me and starting up a conversation. Every so often I would catch myself looking at Sam from the corner of my eye, finding him in the same position as before. I think about why he decided to change his order. he was probably just being childish, not wanting to have anything in common with me. I laughed internally at it, but a part of me was slightly hurt, and I didn't understand why.
Sabrina eventually came by with our drinks, and from the corner of my eye, I swore I saw Josh pass her a napkin, but when I gave him a confused look, he only offered a shrug and a smile.
When it was time to go, we cleaned up the table the best we could and made our way to our cars.
"See you in a bit kid" Josh says as he smiles at me with a wave
"See you" you return his smile and we all drive to school.
The morning classes went pretty normally as most do, apart from the lingering thoughts of this morning swirling in your head. Why did it upset me? Sam is just an asshole, i should expect these types of things from him. Whatever.
Lunch finally rolls around as i sit at my table with my friends, well, acquaintances, making sure to keep an open seat for Josh like I promised. I finally see Josh roll in, about 10 minutes late (shocker) and he makes his way over to me. he reaches the table and smiles and sighs as he sits down.
"Who knew being an assistant could be so stressful?" He chuckles
"Well you know who our director is, shes crazy. shes going to drive you crazy too."
"Yeah.. I guess I shouldve known, Mrs. Vanderbilt is.... yeah"
"I bet you're doing great though. What are you doing for the play so far?"
"Well right now shes focused on making sure we have plans for the set, doesnt want to make the same mistake as last year"
Josh laughs as he refers to last year's play, where in the middle of the most heart wrenching scene, a wall fell down, making everyone break character and it was a mess.
I laugh and nod and I continue listening to him tall about his new duties. As he finishes up, he adds a comment that makes me jaw clench.
"So have you thought at all about your audition?"
"Not really.. Ive never really done plays before, well aside from little kid ones. But never ones like this. I don't even know what I should prepare, what I should wear.. " i feel my mind start to spiral, but Josh quickly puts a stop to it.
"Well consider yourself lucky, you have a man on the inside who knows exactly what she's looking for" Josh says as he smiles widely at me, "besides I can always bribe her too, she's weirdly obsessed with subway" Josh says with a wink.
I smile and try to listen to his advice. Maybe I really could get the lead. And maybe this would just be the beginning. The push I need to finally put myself out there. Maybe.
JOSH POV
After helping y/n with her audition, I finish up the rest of my assistant duties and head home for the day. I see jake sitting on the couch as I walk in the front door.
"Hey Jake, finally home I see"
He rolls his eyes at me and smiles "Valerie wanted to hang out longer, I couldn't say no"
I sigh and laugh "yeah I get that, but next time, get your car fixed and don't take Sam's. I had to take him to get coffee with me and y/n this morning."
"Oh man, how was that?"
"Wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be actually. Who knows, maybe they'll finally get along soon"
"We can only hope" Jake says with a laugh. I nod and laugh as well before heading upstairs to my room
The rest of my afternoon is filled with editing some lyrics to show to the boys later. This song has been in the making for many, many years, y/n being the muse. I wrote this so when we eventually have to leave each other to go to college, or in my case travel the world, hopefully, she can always come back to it and it would remind her she's never alone, no matter how it may seem. This song also helps remind me that home is where ever the people you love are, and I hope she interperates it the same.
as I'm finishing up, I hear the front door open. 3:13.
I hear shuffling up the stairs and I open my door to investigate. I see sam basically dragging himself up the stairs. He notices my presence and looks up at me. On his face I see a purple tinted bruise protruding around his eye. He looks pissed.
"Hey what's up, you look like hell"
"Dont fucking talk to me right now."
I stop him with my arm before he has a chance to walk by me
"Hey, im here for you, you know that right? Talk to me. What's going on?"
He sighs, accepting defeat, "I got in a fight."
"Yeah I gathered that" I laugh "why? What happened?"
"Just some kid I had to put in his place"
"Okay, did they call mom"
"Yeah, she said they made an arrangement so I wouldnt get suspended or something like that. I dont know. She said she was gonna call me tonight and let me know what they thought"
"Okay, that's good. It doesn't sound like it'll be too bad" I sigh with relief and put my hand on his shoulder, "if I can help you out with it, I will okay?"
He looks at me and offers me a small smile, "Yeah, thanks josh"
"No worries, little brother" I say as I ruffle his hair. He laughs a little before pushing me away softly and going to his room and shutting the door.
I continue on with writing before I see the time and decide I should make some food.
I go down stairs and start on my signature dish, chicken alfredo. As im draining my noodles, I see my phone light up, its y/n

I smile as I shut my phone off and finish up my dinner. I yell at everyone in the house that its ready, and my twin and sister come barreling down the stairs.
Jake is the first to say anything "hey thanks, 𝘮𝘰𝘮"
"Yeah whatever asshole, you wouldn't be eating this good if I wasn't here so shut up and grab a plate" I laugh at Jake and see Ronnie comming up to me
"Thanks J, im starving"
"Yeah of course, wheres Sam?"
"He should be comming? Im sure he heard you, how could he not, you probably scared the whole neighborhood" she says as I lightly shove her head away on my way upstairs.
I reach Sam's door and lightly knock, "hey dude I made dinner, you hungry?"
"Hey no, but could you come in here for a minute"
I walk in to see Sam sitting at his desk with his head in his hands
"Hey what's up? Are you okay?"
He sighs before looking at me "mom called."
"Yeah? What, is it bad? Theyre not sending you to boarding school are they?" I laugh, trying to cheer him up
"No, worse."
"Tell me already Sam, what?"
"Theyre making me do the fucking play."
My jaw drops as I fight a smile from creeping onto my face
"Oh. Well, i mean that's definitely not the worse thing that could happen. Why are they having you do that though? That doesn't seem like a punishment"
"Well yeah to you it wouldn't."
"That's fair. What are they having you do? Stage crew or something?"
"No. I have to be fucking Romeo. This is all your fault. She said that no other guys fit the role and they thought since im your brother I 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 be as 𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 as you. Do you have any idea how embarrassing this is? My friends will have a fucking field day with this."
"Sam it'll be okay, Ill help you out, im helping y/n too. Maybe you guys could work together?" I regret the words as soon as they come out of my mouth. That'll just make this worse right now. My thoughts are proven to be correct as he speaks again "just get out. I need to sleep or something"
"Okay, are you sure you dont want any good? Its alfredo."
"I said no, just get the fuck out dude okay?"
I sigh and nod as I walk out and shut the door behind me. I walk downstairs and give a look at Jake, who immediately understands to not say anything to me right now. He strikes up a conversation with Ronnie to get the attention off me as I take my plate and head up to my room. I eat and think about my interaction with Sam. This can't be that bad, hes just being dramatic. Who knows? He might end up enjoying it or getting something out of it. Same with y/n. I know they both can really benefit from this. I just have to show them.
My thoughts are interrupted by my phone lighting up, I smile as soon as I see the notification.

𝐇𝐢, 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐣𝐨𝐬𝐡?
A WEEK LATER
AUDITION DAY
Y/N POV
Ive been dreading this all day. What if im not good enough? What if all this staying up late, memorizing a huge monologue was all for nothing? No. Josh said it would be fine. It'll all work out. I step into the auditorium, immediately searching for josh, who I see on stage giving pointers to some helpless freshman who looks absolutely petrified. That's gonna be what I look like up there. I make my way down to the seats, taking an aisle one about 5 rows away from the stage. There's a good amount of people in the room, some doing vocal warmups, some doing last minute read throughs just to make sure they have everything memorized. Every one except one person. a boy, slumped into his chair, hood up, sitting on his phone. I studied him for a minute, wondering who it was before my curiosity was satisfied. The boy sits up in his seat, looking around the room to see everyone who showed up, before his eyes stopped on me. I see Sam in an auditorium. No, that can't be right, I do a double take before realizing that it is, in fact, Sam.
He notices my double take before smugly smiling at me and returning to his phone. I roll my eyes and revert my focus back to Josh, he sees me and basically jumps off the stage and runs to me
"Hey kid, are you excited?" He says with the biggest smile
"Trying to be" I say, forcing a smile which he notices
"Hey, it'll be great. I know how much you practiced and Mrs. V would be an idiot to not cast you. Maybe don't tell her I said that.. I don't want to end up dead by tomorrow." He laughs and hugs me "I have to go but I'll see you up there! Remember, you can do anything you set your mind to" he says with a wink
I smile back and repeat his advice over and over in my head. I can do this. Josh will be here and even if I don't get cast, I can say I tried. More than I could've said 5 years ago.
As the time grows closer for my audition, I feel my hands get sweaty and my breathing increasing. Why is this so hard? It's just reciting a paragraph and moving my arms as I speak. It shouldn't be this nerve wracking. My mind continues to spin and I barely notice the presence stepping up behind me
"Y'know I can hear you breathing from across the room right?"
I turn around to see Sam, once again
"Well sorry if my breathing annoys you sam. Not my fault I need to to live."
He rolls his eyes "your just being dramatic about this. It'll be fine."
"Shut up I didn't ask you for advice. What are you even doing here"
He starts to speak before he is interrupted by my name being shouted across the room. I turn around to see Josh and Mrs V waving me over. It's time. I take a deep breath and wipe my hands on the front of my jeans before making my way onto the stage. I am immediately blinded by the big lights, making this experience feel more real and terrifying.
"Whenever youre ready y/n" Mrs V says with a smile. I look over to josh, sitting next to her, for one final boost of confidence. He smiles at me and blows me a kiss. I smile and take one more breath before starting
"God knows when we shall meet again. I have a faint cold fear thrills through my veins, That almost freezes up the heat of life.... "
I go through the motions of what I imagine Juliet to look like, giving looks of desperation, throwing my hands up in defeat, stumbling to my knees. I start to get a little emotional as I finish up my last line
"Romeo! I come! This do I drink to thee"
I bow my head, signifying her death, as I wait to be excused from the stage. Instead I am met with silence. I dare to look up and see Josh, his jaw slightly dropped, and Mrs. V with tears in her eyes.
"My stars, Y/n. Who is this new person? That was absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much dear." She says, smiling wide.
I blink in disbelief. I did it. And they seemed to like it. I sigh with content and make my way to the seats. I trip over my own feet coming down the stairs and try to protect my head from the impact of the floor. But to my surprise, it never comes. Instead, I am met with the feeling of something holding me up, maybe my guardian angel, probably Josh. I open my eyes to see Sam looking down at me, his face softened. I look back at him and blush a little bit before straightening myself back up and looking to the floor before my attention is drawn back to the front row, where Mrs V and Josh are sat. I hear her say "So you've met our Romeo I see". My head whips to Sam, who has a sour expression on his face, obviously not happy about it either. I chuckle involuntarily, and it only grows as he gives me a dirty look, rolling his eyes.
"Wow... Acting? I could never imagine you doing that"
"Yeah well I couldn't imagine me doing it either, but here we are. Actually, I could never imagine you doing this either. Thought for sure you'd choke up there and go running back into the arms of your precious little Josh. Oh well, it's not too late. Maybe it'll happen on opening night" he says with a fake smile, obviously trying to upset me. I glare at him, trying to speak, but nothing is comming out. "What's wrong? Nothing to say?"
I sigh with frustration and start, "listen, asshole. Unlike you, I actually tried to get a role instead of just sitting back and it falling into my lap."
"Yeah well this wasn't my first choice, believe me."
"Oh of course. Sam Kiszka always has more important things going on. Thank you so much for gracing us with your presence. Y'know I feel bad for whoever Juliet will be, they'll have to put up with you all the time"
He glares at me before leaning towards me, making me walk back and hit my back on the ledge of the stage, "Oh yeah? Luckily for both of us, you'll never be Juliet."
That stung a little. But it's Sam, he has no idea what he's talking about
"Fuck off"
I say as I storm past him, shedding off the burden of our conversation in my trail. I decide to just head home. I'll see Josh in the morning and we can talk about everything then
Right now I need a break.
SAM POV
I don't know why I'm forced to sit in this godforsaken auditorium watching all these girls audition for a part they're most likely never going to get, except for the 𝘭𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘺 girl who does. She'll get so excited over something so miniscule as a couple lines in a mediocre high school production of a Shakespeare play.
They're all so desperate.
I think back to my conversation, well, argument, with Y/n. I don't know how Josh ever got her to do this. Her audition wasn't even that good, yet Josh and Mrs V seemed to be eating it up. I mean, sure, she spoke clearly... and slowly... beautifully- I shake my head before my thoughts go too far. Its only beautiful because Shakespeare is beautiful, Not a compliment to y/n. She probably won't even get the part anyway, so this was just a waste of time for her. She's lucky not to be given a part. This is going to be torture.
Hours and hours of rehearsals, my friends inevitably calling me names in the hallway, trying to create chemistry with whoever my love interest is..
This is my own personal hell
And it could've all been so easily avoided.
That fight was ridiculous. Why did I care so much what he said? It's not like it's anything I haven't said before. My mind starts re-enacting the scene in my head,

I bring my mind back to reality and shake my head. It's all 𝘩𝘦𝘳 fault. Why does she constantly plague me and my thoughts even though I resent her?
Still,
Why do I care about her?

Hi there! So I’m from the creepypasta fandom, and got back into my morgue files phase lol. This request is mainly based off a thought I had. Reader crushing HARD on the new kid Jeffery Mason. To the point where it gets stalkery. Purely befriending Liu just to be able for the chance to get closer to him. Until one day this eventually leads to Liu inviting then over to the Mason household. Jeff isn’t home yet, Liu has to leave the house for a bit, and that gives a little to snoop in Jeff’s room. There’s a noise, and they think it’s Liu so they’re not really worried. But it’s not Liu, it’s Jeff. And he’s really pissed to have his privacy invaded. And in a panic, S/I confesses lol. What happens next can be up to you
Ooo I love the idea!

Fortunately, early mornings in Forest Lawn were quite. Something that would always calm you down as you sat for your morning yoga. You had been living in Forest Lawn for 3 years. Initially, it was hard making friends, but you managed to form a group of 3. You didn't like them completely, but they were fine. After completing your morning routine, you checked the time.
7:30 am.
' Alright. We have time.' you thought. You headed downstairs towards the kitchen. "Breakfast's ready!" Your mother exclaimed. "Damn mom,no good morning? " Your mother mother almost yelled, "Oh! Good morning! So silly of me" You chuckled. You sat for breakfast. Your father had gone out for his morning walk. After sometime you rechecked the time.
7:45 am
'15 minutes left' "Bye mom!" You said as you walked out of the house, not hearing your mother's response. You reached school in 5 minutes. You and your friends had a meet-up spot by a nearby tree. Only 2 of them were present. "Ugh! Oli's late again?" you asked, irritated. " When is he not?" you friend, Dorothy said. Matthew just breathed a chuckle. Right as he did that, Oliver showed up. "I'm sorry!" "Yeah, yeah" all three of you said in unision.
Your group started chatting. As you talked you noticed something from your peripheral view. Two new boys. However, only one grabbed your attention. He was tall, pale and just...breathtaking. He had jet black hair, wore a hoodie and black jeans. He almost looked inhuman (ly beautiful)
His brother or friend..or the other boy looked more human. Looked more..cute..and timid. His back was somewhat slouched and he kept his hands folded. He had fair skin and dark brown hair. He wore a green jacket with a striped scarf along with black pants.Your gaze was fixed on them when your friend asked, "___, what happened? " You flinched. "Look at that, two new boys." you said. "Holy shit, the tall one looks like a vampire!" Dorothy whisper-yelled. "Yeah!Like- ew. Imagine being friends with hi-" Oliver was cut off by your offended face. "Chill,___. You don't even know him!" Oliver said. "Still!" you huffed, folding your arms.
Matthew just stared at you, in an..off manner. You shrugged it off as the bell rang.
You went to your respective class and surprise! The pretty boy with black hair sat behind you. After being introduced, you learnt that his name was Jeffery Mason and that the other boy accompanying him was his younger brother,Liu Mason. As the lecture went by,you couldn't help but blush at Jeffery. He was behind you, yes, but you could hear him muttering some answers to himself. 'What a sexy voice' you thought. You felt someone looking at you, you looked back and saw Matthew look away. 'Creepy..' you thought.
In recess, you befriended Liu. It took you a while..but you did it. You told your friends that you wanted to be friends with him and that it wasn't compulsory for them to befriend him. They agreed and gave you some time with him. Days went by,you and Liu grew close. You understood that he liked arts. And you also got ample chances of seeing Jeffery, albeit never gathering the courage to talk to him. Whenever you got the time, you would follow him around. After a while you got to know that his favorite colour was red, that he had an insta, he liked dried flowers, he smoked and that he liked metal music.
Tumblr media
It was Sunday afternoon when your phone started ringing. You picked up and saw in white, bold letters:
Liu
You smiled and picked up. "Hey.." he greeted. "Hey liu. What's up? Did you need help with your paintings? or did you need some extra colours?" you asked as you got up and opened your art supply cupboard. "uh..no. I wanted to ask if you're free...for coming at my house. My parents are gone out for a while,but..they'll come back. Till Then, they said that we could meet. They wanna know you..so..Please introduce yourself to them once they come back." You couldn't believe it!!! You would get to see Jeff! "Yes, of course Liu! What time?" You asked, voice laced with excitement. "4pm...is that alright? " You glanced at the clock.
3:30pm.
"sure! I'll be on time!" you heard a giggle. "You" re so sweet,___." You smiled. You had initially befriended Liu with the intention of getting close to Jeffery, but you would be lying if you said you had not grown close to Liu. You genuinely liked the guy."Thanks,Liu." "Bye ___. See you". " See you" he hung up first.
Immediately, you stepped away from you art supply cupboard and marched towards you wardrobe. "Im gonna wear my red sweater with black jeans." you said to yourself as you rummaged through it. To your dismay, you didn't find it. You ran to every room of your house, asked your parents and even looked in the backyard. No red sweater.'But I wore it on Thursday!' you recalled as you stood in the living room. 'Where would it go?' A memory struck you like lightning. It was of Matthew complimenting you when you wore it. 'That creep! It was definitely him!' you glanced at the time.
3:50 pm.
'Oh fuck! Im gonna be late!' you Immediately put on a white tee with black jeans with your black converse and ran to the Mason household, which fortunately was just a metre away. You rang the doorbell. "On time. Great" Liu said as he let you in. "Come, I'll lead you to my room." You both headed upstairs. Just as Liu was about go open the door, his phone rang. "Hey mom...What? But, how can I leave ___alone...fine.." he hung up. "I have to go for 5 minutes. I'll be back. Till then sit in my room..Im really sorry." He gave you an apologetic look. You smiled understandingly, nodding. Just as he headed downstairs, you asked. "Who's room is this?" "Jeffery 's" he said as he unlocked the main door. "I'll come soon!" the door shut close.
You opened Jeffery's door. You entered and looked around. It was dark, messy yet somewhat organised. Headphones and a pack of cigarettes on the drawer next to his bed. You heard the main door open. 'It's Liu.' You continue to look around. You hear a cough and you look around. You feel the air leaving you lungs. Its not Liu.Its..Jeffery.
"Why in the actual fuck are you in my room?!" he barked. "I-Im sorry. I didn't mean to-" you were cut off."Didn't mean to?! Did the air take you here? Why the fuck would you invade my privacy?! What's the reason?!" "I LIKE YOU!" You yelled. An uncomfortable silence filled the air. You looked around everywhere but him. However, your attention was caught by something. You made your way towards his cupboard, ignoring his protests, blinded by curiosity. You snatched the cloth from the top of the cupboard, only for silence to fill the air again. You broke it first, with wide eyes. "My sweater!" you hugged it,happy that you found it.
But then realization hit you as you looked at the man you loved. He Immediately looked down, fidgeting with the bag in his hand, probably full of groceries. "And you talk about privacy." you said, voice monotone. "I...thought you looked pretty.I...like you too." The last part barely audible. You decided to do the silent method on him. " I liked you from the moment I saw you in class. I just hated that asshole Matthew looking at me everytime I looked at you. Because of that..I assumed you were his girl-" "Oh hell no! Him?! He's...uck!" you shuddered. "He looks like he could be the president of a country of cockroaches!" you said. "The fuck?" he chuckled. Funny, he found you funny. "So..what now? Wanna date?" He was taken aback. "Where's all the confidence coming from now? Couldn't even speak well a minute ago." He mocked. Your cheeks heated up. Before you could answer the doorbell rang. Jeff glanced at you before he went to get the door. You ran to Liu's bedroom.
After the meet and greet with Liu's parents you and him painted many paintings. You were going to take one home. You went to the washroom and came back and saw something written on the backside of the painting in neat handwriting.
Yes,I would like to date you.
And below it written was his phone number. You smiled, carrying it with at your home.
Tumblr media
You texted him at night and waited for his response. When you heard a knock on your window. Cautiously, you opened it. And well, the handsome ravenette stood outside. " Hey,beautiful"
Well..This was going to be a long night.

Prompt 91 babyyyyy
OMG Hi Bestie
Thank you so much for sending in this suggestion! I LOVED this prompt and @1soff also shared it.
This is starring Joel and a new FMC who you'll likely be meeting soon (probably this fall?) who Joel calls Goldie. This is going to be a no-outbreak modern AU Joel romantic dramady fic. They were best friends in high school but had a falling out at the end of their senior year and went their separate ways until Goldie moves back to Austin when they're in their early 30s. This scene isn't going to be canon for their story BUT you'll at least get a taste for Joel and Goldie!
Thank you for being here! I hope you like Joel and Goldie! Love you so much!
Pick Me
You and your high school best friend, Joel Miller, reconnect after years apart.
Based on Prompt 91: “Don’t go on that date.” “Why?” “You know why.” “Say it.”
Tumblr media
Pairing: Joel Miller x Female Reader (nicknamed Goldie)
Warnings: None :) No use of Y/N.
Length: 1.8K
“You’re not going to make me like this damn town,” you said, taking a drink off the flask and passing it back to Joel. Your legs were dangling over the rock toward the river below, the stars bright overhead. “Doesn’t matter how many times we try to act like teenagers breaking into the state park, it’s not going to work.”
“I’ll wear ya down,” he said, taking a drink himself. “If you’re stuck here, may as well try to enjoy it.”
You sighed, looking out at the Austin skyline as Joel handed the flask back to you. You took another drink.
This stupid fucking city held what seemed like everything bad that had ever happened to you. Your father, how your mother died, Anna’s descent into addiction that you knew was at least partially your fault.
But it also had Joel.
The one, incredibly determined bright spot that had been here even as you tried as hard as you could to run from it. Liking Austin was dangerous. Liking JOEL was dangerous.
“How’s the school treatin’ ya?” He asked after a minute.
“Pretty good, actually,” you nodded. “Better than Ohio did when I started there.”
“Fuckin’ Ohio,” Joel said, glancing at you with a sly smile on his lips. You snorted. He held out his hand. “You’re bogarting the booze, Goldie.”
“What, you think it’s yours or something?” You teased, handing the flask back.
“Unless your last name is suddenly Miller,” he teased back, tapping the engraved side of it. He took a swig. “But they got you teachin’… fuck, whatever the interesting shit is English professors get to teach?”
You laughed a little.
“Yeah,” you said. “I have 18th century British Literature which is a good one for me, anyway. Literature for writers is another one I’m liking so far. Plus some workshops. It’s mostly upperclassmen so they’re all kids who are there because they care about the subject, not just to fulfill some requirements to graduate.
“I think the school is sucking up to me a bit, though,” you said. “I picked a good time to have my life completely implode and need to job hunt. I had some good name recognition from my book. They want to try to keep me around so they’re letting me teach the cool shit instead of needing to work my way up.”
He nodded slowly and handed you the flask back. You ran your thumb over the engraving, watching his name catch the light of the moon. You took another drink.
“You’re still too smart to be hangin’ out with me,” he smiled a little. “Not arguin’, just pointin’ out some truths for you.”
“You’re still too cool to be hanging out with me,” you smiled back. “Think we’re even.”
“I was never that cool,” he replied.
“Oh I know,” you laughed. “I was just a huge fucking loser.”
He laughed at that. You handed him the flask.
Joel was sitting close to you, so close that your leg sometimes brushed his when it swung out over the water below. His hand brushed yours as he leaned back on the rock, his fingertips slipping into the gaps between your own. You took your hand back and lay down on the stone, looking up at the sky overhead.
The whiskey had set in, a pleasant buzz running over you as you watched the lights from distant planes flying overhead. You wondered idly where they were going, if the people aboard were excited for vacation or traveling for business or on their way to a funeral. You always wanted to know things like that. It was your curse, that’s what your mother had called it. That you had all these questions about how the people around you moved through the world, like you wanted to crawl inside their skin and live as them for a day, just to see what it was like to occupy the same space as another person, have their heartbeat, feel the creases in their flesh as it existed to them.
“You ever wonder what would have happened if you’d stayed here after high school?” Joel asked. You looked over at him. He took another drink. “Gone to UT and shit instead of runnin’ off to Columbia?”
“All the time,” you replied. “But I think about a lot of different versions of myself. In some alternate universe there’s a me who went to Iowa for undergrad and never met fucking Brad…”
“Fuckin’ Brad,” Joel echoed. You looked up at him and caught a glimpse of his smile.
“There’s another one who moved to London and never went to college,” you said. “She’s just waiting tables and writing shitty poems in an apartment she shares with three other people. But she’s pretty happy there, so good on her I guess.”
Joel paused before looking down at you.
“The version who stayed?” He asked.
You sighed.
“I’m really not sure,” you said. “I’m sure we would have stayed friends the whole time instead of falling out of touch…”
“We weren’t talkin’ when you left,” he said.
“I know,” you sighed. “But I think we’d have moved past that pretty quick if we were in the same damn city.”
“Makes sense,” he agreed after a moment.
“I’m not sure about her beyond that, though,” you said after a moment of quiet.
He was quiet but lay down next to you on the rock, looking up at the stars. His body was warm, even from a few inches away.
“Missed you, you know,” he said, turning his head to look at you.
“Missed you, too,” you said, smiling a little back at him before looking back at the stars again. “You know, more than I think about staying here, I wonder what would have happened if we’d never… you know. If we’d just stayed friends.”
“Yeah?” He said. His eyes were still on you, you could feel him watching you. “What do you think would’ve happened?”
“I wouldn’t have married fuckin’ Brad,” you laughed. “You’d have seen right through his shit and talked me out of that one real quick.”
He snorted.
“I only met the guy once but he was a fuckin’ dick,” he said.
“See?” You smiled. “I needed someone to point that out to me, I couldn’t see him for what he was. I needed someone who could.”
“I probably wouldn’t have Sarah,” you heard him frown then. “Shit, that’s weird to think about… I doubt I’d have gone to the bar and hooked up with her mom that night if we’d still been friends.”
“That whole ripple effect thing,” you sighed. “Change one thing and the whole world shifts. But assuming you would still have Sarah - that girl is inevitable, you cannot deny her. She’d will herself into existence if you weren’t there to help her along - what would be different for you?”
He laughed a little and then sighed.
“Might have actually done the community college thing,” he shrugged. “You would have been on my ass about it until I fuckin’ enrolled…”
“Damn right I would’ve,” you replied.
“I’d probably have just flunked out though,” he said. “Then I’d have a bunch of loans and nothin’ to show for it.”
“Damn,” you sighed but smiled slightly, turning your head to look at him. “Who knew I’d be such a bad influence on you.”
“Nah,” he smiled. “My mom’s never wrong about that shit and she liked you. It’d be good.”
“Oh, well, if I had Mrs. Miller’s blessing…” you teased.
You just lay there, looking at each other for a bit, the rock cool below you, the river drowning out the sounds of the city that lay just out of reach on the horizon. There was a knot in your stomach when you looked at Joel for too long, something that seemed to want to dig into you, something that had lingered whenever he came to mind for years.
“Oh hey,” you said, desperate to have something else to talk about. “How did your date go the other night? The one girl you were doubling with Tommy and Maria with?”
“Oh,” Joel paused for a moment. “It was fine, I guess, but we didn’t really… I dunno, click or whatever the fuck you wanna call it. We’re not goin’ out again.”
“She was that bad in bed, eh?” You teased. Even in the dark you caught his frown.
“Wouldn’t know,” he said. “Didn’t fuck her.”
“Really?” You frowned a bit, surprised. “Well, good for you.”
“Feel like you’re implyin’ somethin’ about my dating history, Goldie,” he smiled a little.
“Just that you’re good at charming the pants off your dates,” you smiled back. “Which I’d think most men would take as a compliment.”
“Yeah, well,” he shrugged, going quiet again.
He was so close to you, so close it felt dangerous.
“Still talkin’ to that one guy?” Joel asked. “What’s his name?”
“Eric?” You asked. “The guy whose texts I showed you to see if you thought he was a whack job?”
“That’s the one,” Joel laughed a little.
“Yeah, actually,” you smiled a bit. “We’re going out this weekend, some concert he wants to see. Who cares as long as it gets me out of my damn apartment…”
“Don’t go on that date,” Joel cut you off.
“Why?” You breathed, your heart pounding against your ribs. The sad, homesick longing you’d had for him for what felt like your entire life was sharp and hot inside your stomach.
“You know why.”
“Say it.”
“I love you, Goldie,” he said, looking at you so intently that you could feel it in your blood. “I’ve loved you since were fuckin’ 16 years old and…”
“Don’t do this to me, Joel,” your voice broke as you said it. “Don’t treat me like one of the girls you date where you say whatever it is you say to them to get them into bed…”
“You think that’s what this is?” He rolled onto his side so he was looking down at you, his body just inches from your own. “That any of that shit wasn’t to make up for not havin’ you when you left?”
“That’s not…” you began but he cut you off.
“You’re it for me,” he said. “Knew it when we were 16 years old, knew it on prom night, knew it the day you left town.
“Don’t go out with that fuckin’ guy. He seems… fine. He does, Goldie. He seems better than fuckin’ Brad but Jesus, you deserve so much better than fine. Let me try to be somethin’ close to what you deserve. Don’t go on that date.”
“Joel,” you breathed.
“Don’t go on that date.”
“I won’t,” you said softly. “I’ll…”
And, for the first time in 14 years, your best friend kissed you, his hand slipping around to the back of your head, pulling your face closer to his own as his lips met yours all soft and sweet. It left you breathless when he pulled away.
“Good,” he said. “That’s… good."
"Yeah," you said. "I think it is."

“And then you’ll want to press the C key.” Bradley explained to y/n where he sat next to her on the piano bench. Y/n surveyed the keys before pressing on one, looking to Bradley for approval.
“Close,” Bradley chuckled. He grabbed her hand with her pointer finger still extended and then moved it to the correct key.
“That’s a C.”
Y/n smiled and turned her attention to her friend. “When did you learn so much about music?” She asked. Bradley smiled at her before reaching up and grabbing a picture frame off the top of the piano. He handed it over to her. Y/n took the picture in her hands, it was a picture of Bradley as a young child and his dad.
“I have been in piano lessons since I was 8, I learned how to play this song for my moms birthday.” Bradley explained.
Y/n looked down at the picture of Bradley and his father and smiled. He was such an adorable kid.
“I bet she loved that.” Y/n hummed.
“Oh I did.” A third voice joined the conversation as Bradley’s mother came out of the kitchen with two glasses in her hands for the kids.
“Hey Carole!” Y/n chirped excitedly as the woman handed her a glass. Y/n was confident that Carole made the best sweet tea in the whole world.
Carole walked over to Bradley and placed a kiss on top of his head and then moved to Y/n, wrapping an arm around her shoulders in a side hug.
“That was my favorite birthday.”
“You cried like a baby.” Bradley chuckled before taking a drink of the tea.
“You hush.” Carole pointed an accusing finger at him which caused us all to laugh. Carole exited the room and that left y/n and Bradley alone again.
“Alright let’s try it slowly.”
The two put their fingers on the keys and began to play their separate parts slowly. Y/n did well in the beginning, slowly picking up speed. That was until she hit the wrong key, a very wrong key.
Bradley and Y/n burst into laughter over the piano, leaning into each other for support. Suddenly, the door swung open and a woman’s voice called out Bradley’s name. Anybody entering the home could see the piano in the living room from the front door. But y/n instantly knew that it was Bradley’s girlfriend just by the sound of her voice. She looked over at her, seeing that her face was covered in anger as she nearly slammed the door behind her.
Bradley noticed too, he grumbled a curse word under his breath that only y/n could hear before standing up to greet his girlfriend.
“Mandy! Hey babe.” Bradley jogged over to his girlfriend to kiss her but she pushed him away.
“Are you kidding me?” She nearly yelled. “We have senior pictures in 30 minutes and you’re not even dressed!”
Bradley frantically looked at the time and then ran his hands through his hair. “Shit I completely lost track of time. I’ll go get dressed, be right back.”
Bradley rushed up the stairs leaving y/n sitting on the piano bench with Mandy staring daggers at her.
“Hey Mandy.” Y/n tried with formalities, waving her hand at Mandy. Mandy gave her a dirty look that paired with an eye roll.
“I don’t even know why you’re still around.”
Y/n rose to her feet, shock flooding over her. “Excuse me?” She challenged.
A disgusted frown spread across Mandy’s face. “I told Bradley to kick you to the curb, he didn’t need you anymore. But you’re still here, in his house even.”
Mandy and Y/n haven’t gotten along from the start. Mandy managed to join them at the lunch table, consuming the entirety of the conversations. Mandy even stole y/n’s seat next to Bradley in Chemistry, forcing y/n to sit across the room. Y/n knew she was saying all kinds of shit behind her back to Bradley, but nothing between the two friends ever chanced. He still made time for both of them. His girlfriend more than her, but Y/n understood that.
Y/n crossed her arms over her chest.
“Well why am I still here then, hm?” She asked, raising her eyebrows expectedly. Mandy seemed to get flustered, her mouth opening but no words came stumbling out, then she spat;
“Stay away from Bradley, you bitch.”
Y/n was about to clap back when Carole stepped into the room, a smile on her face.
“Y/n, you mind helping me with dinner? It’s my family’s turn to cook after all.” Carole’s eyes glanced at Mandy and then back at me. Her expression was hard to read, but something was going on behind her eyes.
“Of course, Carole.”
Y/n followed Carole to the kitchen, quickly noticing that there were no food items or even dishes out on the counters. Y/n stood on the opposite side of the kitchen island that Carole was on as she braced herself against the surface.
“I cannot believe she just said that to you.” Carole was angry, her face clearly showed it as she dug her nails into the solid surface of the counter, causing them to just slide into her palms.
Y/n scoffed and crossed her arms over her chest.
“I can. She’s been trying to get rid of me from the start. That’s the tamest thing she’s said to me.”
Carole’s face dropped into disbelief as she looked at y/n. She threw her hands up into the air and took a step towards the kitchen door.
“That’s it. I’m telling Bradley.”
“No!” Y/n jumped in front of Carole and stopped her in her tracks.
“Don’t tell Bradley, please.”
“Why not?”
“Because he’s so happy, I don’t want to be the reason that’s ruined for him. Plus it’s been like this for 5 months now and no matter how hard she’s tried, I’m still here.”
A wide smile grew on Carole’s face as she grabbed y/n’s face with her hands. She squeezed her cheeks gently before saying;
“You’re too good for him.”

Graduation day was a grand day. It’s impossible to recreate that feeling of freedom and accomplishment after walking across that stage.
Until y/n met Bradley, she hadn’t had an idea on how that day would go. She imagined that she would graduate and then immediately sign up for summer classes and get on with her new journey to becoming a doctor. That was until Bradley begged her (quite literally, on his knees begged.) to take a trip with them. Eventually, she gave in.
Y/n loved Bradley. She grew to love him over the last few years of knowing him. Every moment they spent together was the best of her life. Every memory she had she clung on to. There were times she thought about admitting it. Times when they were alone in the car driving home from a 1 am ice cream trip. Times when y/n was crying at a children’s movie and Bradley hugged her while laughing.
But her late night thoughts turned into fears and worries. Just the thought of not being around him hurt her heart, and they weren’t even together in that way. That hurt on top of being heartbroken was something she didn’t think she could survive. So staying friends was the only option.
Although, y/n couldn’t help the jealousy that flared up in her chest when Bradley had chosen his girlfriend Mandy to walk with at graduation rather than her. Y/n was walking with another friend of hers she had met in her anatomy class. They had become close, but not as close as her and Bradley had been.
She glanced at Bradley holding Mandy’s hand in the pews of the church they were graduating in. That hurt in her heart grew until her attention was drawn away by Bradley looking over at her. His graduation cap was crooked as he gave y/n a lopsided smile.
Y/n couldn’t help but smile back as she reached a hand up and tipped the cap to the side so it was now straight. Bradley mouthed ‘thank you’ while putting a hand on her knee and giving it a gentle squeeze. As quickly as his hand was there it was gone, and the space went cold.
They stood, walked, and graduated. The ceremonial cap throwing was the final send off before the graduates were dismissed to gather their things and meet their families. Y/n watched as Mandy ran into Bradley’s arms and they spun around and kissed. She didn’t know whether to walk up there to meet them or avoid them entirely. She decided to go with avoidance.
Y/n wanted to see her parents, she left the doors of the church and swam through the sea of hugs and congratulations. Finally she spotted her dads head sticking out from above the crowd. Even in a button down shirt and jeans he still had on a mesh backed hat.
“Dad!” Y/n ran up and jumped into his arms.
“I’m so proud of you, sweetie.” He said before putting her down and y/n moved over to her mom.
“You did it!” Her mom squeaked while squeezing the air out of y/n’s lungs.
Another person joined the mix, running up to them with her arms out wide.
“Y/n you did it!” Carole exclaimed while nearly tackling y/n in a hug and squeezing her tightly.
“I know I know!” Y/n laughed after hearing it for a second time. She pulled back from the hug from Bradley’s mom just in time to see Bradley and Mandy parting ways, Mandy looked at y/n with pure hatred. Just that look alone was satisfying.
“Why’d you run away?” Bradley asked, slugging an arm over her shoulder and squeezing her gently in a side hug.
“I had to see my parents.” Y/n defended as she rested her shoulder gently on Bradley’s shoulder.
“I am so happy for you two.” Carole could hardly contain her happiness as she engulfed us both in a hug.
Y/n’s dad reached a hand out to Bradley that he clasped back.
“Congratulations kid.” He said to Bradley.
Y/n could tell her dad was trying to remain tough and stoic, but that quickly broke when he pulled Bradley’s arm towards him and gave him a hug. Bradley mumbled “thank you for everything.” into his chest. Y/n’s dad responded back with. “Of course.” Before the two of them pulled back.
“So, what’s on the schedule next?” Y/n’s mom asked the two friends. Y/n and Bradley looked at each other, their response was the same but their enthusiasm about the topic was opposite. Bradley spoke with excitement while Y/n, dread.
“Mexico.”
Tumblr media
Mexico seemed like a fantastic idea for a senior trip at the time. The legal drinking age was 18 and everything else was relatively inexpensive. The thing that cost the most was the condo that they had rented for 5 days. The people who went were Y/n, Bradley, Mandy, a couple of Bradley’s friends from baseball, Marcus and Dylan, and Y/n’s friend from her anatomy class, Sarah.
Night three, after going out for drinks, everybody had come back to the condo to drink some more. Sarah and Marcus had been flirting all night long. The second they came back to the condo, they ran for a bedroom, hand in hand, and locked the door. It was obvious what was going to happen. Music was playing softly on the speakers in the living room while Bradley and Dylan talked and laughed. Mandy was quiet, she refused to talk to Y/n which left Y/n bored.
An idea floated into Y/n’s brain, something she hadn’t done in a while. She stood, walking to the speaker and turning up the music. She strolled back to the middle of the living room with all eyes on her. She began dancing with herself, drink in hand. Y/n pointed to Bradley and then made a motion with her finger for him to join her. Bradley looked like he was going to get up but received a glare from Mandy, which caused him to stay seated.
Dylan didn’t hesitate for a second, he stood up and grabbed Y/n’s hand and spun her in a circle. Dylan wasn’t unattractive by any means. He has sandy blonde hair with curls that fell just above his cheekbones and eyes so blue and green that they looked gray in the dim condo lighting. The two waltzed around the living room to whatever popular song was playing. Drunken singing voices of the two dancing bounced around the room and Dylan wrapped an arm around Y/n’s waist and dipped her down. To Y/n’s surprise, her back hit the hard floor.
Dylan burst out in laughter and knelt down. “Are you alright?” He asked.
Y/n herself was laughing hysterically as she sat up. “I didn’t spill my drink!”
Dylan and Y/n laughed again, only for it to be interrupted by the sound of a door slamming. She looked towards the master bedroom door just in time to see Mandy storming after him and trying to open the locked door. “Bradley, open this door right now!” She screamed, pounding on the door.
Sarah and Marcus came stumbling down the hallway, their clothes halfway on. “What’s happening?” Sarah asked.
“You!” Mandy yelled, pointing an accusing finger in y/n’s direction. “Why do you insist on ruining my relationship? Why couldn’t you have just left. He doesn't need you anymore! He has me!”
“What the fuck are you talking about?” Y/n stood to her feet, her drunken mind starting to sober in order to understand why she was being yelled at.
“I don’t know why you refuse to leave after all the times Bradley has told you to get out of his life.”
Y/n was flabbergasted, this was the first time that she was hearing any of this information.
“Bradley has never told me that.” She defended herself.
Rage clouded over Mandy’s eyes as she stepped closer to Y/n, her teeth almost bared and a snarl coming from her mouth, or maybe that was the alcohol. Before she had any time to react, Mandy’s fist connected with Y/n’s face. As though it were her second nature, Y/n swung back harder, knocking Mandy to the ground. Marcus and Dylan jumped into action, Dylan grabbed Y/n and pulled her back, Marcus doing the same thing.
Y/n felt something wet on her lips. She licked them, tasting the familiar tang of blood before completely wiping it away with her hand. The commotion brough Bradley out of the room and he looked between the two of them. “What the fuck happened?” He asked, immediately running to Mandy’s side and helping her up. She was crying, her lip busted open and bleeding as she looked back at Y/n. “She came after me and hit me!”
“You lying bitch! You fucking hit me!” Y/n felt rage boiling up inside of her at the false accusation.
Bradley stormed up to y/n and grabbed her by the arm, dragging her to the patio outside and shutting the door. “What the hell Y/n?”
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“You hit my girlfriend.” He growled.
“She hit me first!”
“She is my girlfriend, I didn’t expect you to hit her back at all!”
“The same girlfriend who you told you’d get rid of me?”
Bradley’s eyes widened in shock and he took a step back, which was an invitation for Y/n to step forward. “Mandy has hated me from the beginning but I’ve held it back because I didn’t want to ruin your happiness. I cannot begin to tell you the things she has said behind your back and probably to your face if you’ve told her to get rid of me.”
“Y/n-”
“But one thing I never thought you would do is immediately take her side. I thought I would at least get to explain myself.”
“Y/n. I’m sorry, I never meant any of it. I promise I wasn’t going to get rid of you.”
“But you were going to let her keep talking about me like that.”
Silence. Bradley was at a loss of words. He just stared at Y/n with his mouth gaping open.
“Bradley, I can't do this. I’m drunk and angry so, maybe I’ll change my mind tomorrow but I can’t do this.”
“What does that mean?”
“It means I’m done putting up with her shit. If that means you as well, so be it.”
Y/n slammed the door shut to the patio, leaving Bradley outside, alone.

A Knight In A Leather Jacket
Eddie Munson Fluff
Summary: After her brother Steve forgets to pick reader up like he promised Eddie comes do her rescue.
Warnings: none really this is just fluff. Steve being your brother if you don’t like that. Eddie is kinda a perv for like a second. Also some use of y/n.
Authors note: I’ve been back in an Eddie mood so here is this. Also sorry for not updating sooner I took a mental health break.💕
———————————————————————————————————
4:30pm. That’s the time you asked your brother Steve to pick you up from the auto shop to get your car fixed early the next morning. He promised he’d be there to pick you up. There wasn’t any Hellfire tonight so he didn’t have to pick Dustin up. Today is his day off from family video so that couldn’t be his excuse. What could Steve Harrington be doing that is so important he forgot to pick you up? That what you’ve been asking ever since you left the auto shop at 5:30pm, according to your watch.
You huffed in annoyance as you made your way home on foot. Your anger towards your brother would have subsided quickly if it wasn’t for the down pour of rain that started not even 5 minutes after you started your walk. You try to keep your pace as quick as you can without being in a full sprint.
The sound of a car approaching behind you makes you sigh lightly and move closer to the side of the road. Keeping your head down and hugging your rain soaked sweater you attempt to avoid any sort of eye contact. It almost seemed like it was working the car slowed down and the driver started to roll their window down. “This really isn’t walking weather you know.”
You knew that voice. You looked up to confirm your thoughts and where met with Eddie Munson’s infamous smirk and roll your eyes playfully. “Steve promised he’d pick me up at 4:30 at the auto shop. I gave up and started walking home at 5:30. This walk wasn’t my first choice Munson.” You would have graduated with the “freak” of Hawkins High if he had graduated his first time around. You and Eddie where never really friends in school. You weren’t really enemies either; there was just always this playful banter between you two.
You’re shocked when Eddie actually stops his van at your comment and opens the passenger door. “We’ll get in before you catch a cold in this rain and I’ll let you complain all about Steve being late as I drive you home.” You smile thankful and getting into his van as quickly as you can. You take a moment to gather yourself before you shit the passenger door and buckle quickly. “I apologize for getting your seats set.” You smile apologetically at Eddie as wet pieces of hair frame your face.
Eddie gives you a comforting look as he starts to drive again. “Don’t even worry about it. These seats have seen worse.” You give him a look and don’t even get a moment to respond before he’s clarifying his statement. “Uh like Dustin spilled a chocolate milkshake in here just last month. That’s kid is a menace.” You laugh softly and smile. “I wonder where he gets that from.”
Eddie acts completely offended at this statement. “You’re going to blame his actions on innocent old me? He hangs out with your brother as well. I think he gets his menace behavior from him.” You roll your eyes in fake annoyance at this. “No. He gets his menace behavior from you-” You poke Eddie’s upper bicep playfully. “He gets his sassy tone from Steve.”
Eddie laughs loudly at this and looks over at you. “The kid really does have a tone problem! Now that you say it though Steve does have the same tone at times.” Ignoring the say your heart flutters hearing Eddie laugh you give him a wide smile. “I’m glad we can agree on something Munson.” Eddie catches on to your smile and nods. “I think we can also agree your brother is a forgetful idiot sometimes.” Remembering why you’re in the car with Eddie makes you sigh annoyed. “And going home just means I have to hear all about why or how he forgot.”
As the car stops at a stop light Eddie looks over at you. “Why don’t you come over to my place? You can dry off and warm up. The. you won’t have to see Steve just yet.” You give him a slightly confused look. “Are you sure Eddie? This is my first time in your car. Now you’re going to take me home?” Eddie nods nonchalantly. “Why not? My uncle is working at the plant all weekend so having some company over would be nice actually.” You hide your blush with a nod. “I’d love to come over then. Thank you Eddie. For all of this.” Eddie gives you his sweet smile as an impatient car horn brings you both out of the sweet tender moment and signals Eddie to turn off towards the trailer park.
You pull into his driveway after a short drive from the light. You get out and run to the stairs of his trailer with him, he unlocks the door rather quickly. You work on keeping your shoes on his rug as you shiver gently the cold of the rain suddenly getting to you. “Uh if you want the bathroom is down the hall on the left. You can take a shower and I’ll leave some clothes outside the door for you to wear while I put yours in the dryer.” You smile and take off your jacket and leave it by your shoes. “I’ll probably just take the change of clothes if that’s okay.
Eddie nods and walks into the trailer more stoping at the basket of folded clothes on a dryer hidden in a closet by the kitchen. He grabs an old band tee for you and a clean pair of boxers since he doesn’t think he has pants that would fit you comfortably. You take the cloths with a thankful smile and make your way to the bathroom to change.
After locking the door you take off your rain soaked clothes and put on the boxes and faded band tee. Eddie’s scent fills your senses. Some how the dork makes old leather, weed smoke and cheap cologne smell comforting. The boxers looking more like shorts on you as they peak out just under the band tee. You run your wet hair through your fingers to try and tame it. Once you feel more presentable you step out with your wet clothes in hand and hand them to Eddie who is still by the washer.
Eddie places them in the dryer and starts them turned to you to smile. “If you can reach go pick a mug for some tea or hot chocolate to warm you up.” Eddie nods to the living room where you see mugs lining the walls. You ignore the smirk on his face and the blush it brings to your cheeks as you walk over and browse your options. When you see a grumpy bear Care Bears mug you know that’s what you want. It happens to be just out of your reach and you wince.
You see Eddie take notice of this and laugh from his place in the kitchen. “Need help sweetheart?” You ignore his comment and look around for anything you could stand on to get the mug. After a moment of searching you see Eddie make his way towards you and think quick in your feet and go on your tip toes giving Eddie’s a view of his boxers on your hips. Eddie stops in his tracks seeing You struggle to reach the mug. You take his moment of being distracted and gracefully change your position and get the mug. You turn around and smile triumphantly at Eddie. “No tough guy I got my mug!”
Eddie snaps his eyes from where they laid on his boxer to meet your gaze. “Grumpy Bear doesn’t really suit you sweetheart.” You roll your eyes playfully and pout up at him not amused by his comment. “I stand corrected. That was a good impression the mug’s yours.” You hand him the mug the same playful glare on your face. “Hot chocolate please.”Eddie takes the mug gently and gives you a fake salute and marches back to the kitchen and starts on your coco.
You sit at the kitchen island and watch Eddie make the two hot cocoas. He hums lightly to himself as he gets the whipped cream out and tops off your mugs before handing you yours. “For m’lady.” You take your mug happy and sip it slowly. Eddie sips his out of his Garfeild mug. “That mug suits you Eddie. Grouchy but lovable.” You smirk playfully as you take another sip. Eddie narrows his eyes at you. “I’m not grouchy.”
You place your mug down. “That glair you have is telling me other wise grouchy pants.” You go to have another sip of coco when Eddie takes you mug from you. “Take it back and you’ll get your mug back.” You huff and reach over the counter for the mug making Eddie pull it back and stand away from the counter with it in hand. “Take it back and the mug is yours.” You huff stubbornly and walk around the island and right towards his in an attempt to get your mug from his grasp. Eddie sips his mug and holds yours above his head.
“Eddie you called me Grumpy and I didn’t hold your mug hostage. Give me my hot chocolate back!” You stomp your foot like an annoyed toddler not getting their way. Eddie keeps your mug high and puts his mug down. “No I was impressed with your grumpy bear impression.” You roll your eyes. “Eddie it’s going to get cold! Fine you’re not grouchy.” Eddie hands you your mug immediately. “Now wasn’t that easy sweetheart.” You huff and sip your now warm coco.
You jump when a pounding is heard at Eddie a trailer door. “Munson! Did you pick up my sister? Dustin told me he saw her in your Van and she hasn’t made it home! ” You look at Eddie quickly then towards the door. “He sounds kinda grumpy don’t you think?”

World's apart!
💡- Mike felt like it was a long time since he saw you
Mike Schmidt x Fem! Reader

Song!- Gimme me love by- Joji!
Tumblr media
Mike sighs as he sits up from the bed. He had Bed hair from all the rolling he did in the middle of the night, he let's out's a small groan when the alarm on his clock went off as he lazily reached over and turned it off
Mike lays there in his bed for a few seconds before he lets his feet meet the cold floor of his bedroom. "Fuck why is it so cold?" He muttered but was finally able to bring himself up to stand, he took a glimpse at his clock 7'20. He groaned again he had to be at his new job at 8:30 he made his way to Abby's room
He brings his hand up and knocks on the little girl's door "Abby get up!" He called out when he heard the girl say "Five more minutes!" He sighs "No Abby you have to get up" she whines because she was unwilling to leave her comfortable bed
Mike lazily walks to the kitchen to finally make some coffee before he got ready to leave and drop off Abby at her school.he rubbed his eyes before he yawns, he grabbed instant coffee before he puts it down and he grabbed a cup before he fills it with hot water and he grabbed a spoon.
Mike took the lead off the container of the instant coffee. And he puts the spoon in it and pulls it out with the product being on the spoon. He poured it into the cup of hot water and he started to mix the water and coffee together before he put creamer and sugar into the cup and mixed again until he felt like it was ready to drink.
Before he could get in a sip of the coffee Abby was already ready to go "uh. I guess just try and find something in the fridge to eat" he mumbled out and took a sip of the coffee before he went back to his room, Mike flips the light switch on before he lets his eyes dilate to the light "god" he mumbled.
Mike grabbed his belt and slipped it into the loops of his pants. And he slips his shirt on after a while he was finally ready and he walks out after he put his shoes on and tied them. Mike runs his hand through his hair. Before he grabbed Abby and walked out.
He turned the car on and he put Abby down so he could lock the door behind them. He shuffled the keys to a hand before he shuts the door and he puts the key in the lock before he twisted it. He turned around "alright come on" he grabbed Abby again and he walks to the car.
He puts her in the backseat before he goes to the diver side of his car before he made sure Abby had her seatbelt on and that everything was good to go.
Before he started to pull out the driveway and to Abby's school. When he pulled up he parks and looks at Abby "you better behave yourself okay" Abby rolls her eyes "yeah I heard you" she grabbed her bag and opened the door after she took her seatbelt off. And she jumps out the car before walking over to the doors to the school.
He sighs and watches her "god" he mumbled before he decided to drive off before he was late to work
»»————> <————««
As the day continues on Mike watched the Mall making sure no one decided to steal or kidnap a kid.
His eye meet a familiar face until he decided to get a closer look at the person. He was completely shocked
The person he was seeing was.. Her "holy shit" he mumbled before he walks over to the girl "Y/n! " he called out making her turn around. The girl blinks confused as to who called for her "Huh? ' she looks around and then saw Mike walking up to her " oh! Hey Mike.. Long time no see" she smiles at him "how have you been, how's Abby been?" Mike sighs and shrugged "I'm alright.. Abby's okay I guess" he shuffled his hands into his pockets "i got a new job" Y/n smiles more "really? Where" he looks at her "here.. At the mall" she dropped her smile for a moment "oh.. "As they continued to talk Mike realized how long it's really been before they last saw each other "it's been a while since we last saw each other" she nodded "yeahh"

Y/N's POV
"Holy crap! You're... you're..." I hear Peter say. I'm still standing in the middle of the room, frozen in place. Tony Stark smirks and says, "Tony Stark. And you guys are Peter and Y/N Parker, am I right?" Peter and I shoot each other a look. He signals for me to read his mind again.
Do you think this is about our, Uhm, after-school activities?
I don't think so. We've been really careful.
He nods his head slightly and we turn back to our aunt and the man sitting next to her. I look at him, a little suspicious, and ask, "Yeah, that's us. Um, pardon my bluntness but why are you here? And why do you know our names?" He laughs. "Good instinct. Not too trusting, but not completely rude. You would make a good addition to the team, should you choose to accept my offer." Peter and I share another confused look. Offer? Mr. Stark clears his throat and says, "I am offering you a spot on the Avengers. We have been keeping tabs on you both. You would start with training, and then as you improve, we can begin to send you on smaller missions. No school would be missed, but you would have to live on-site with the team." I look at the ground. I guess Peter and my afternoon activities haven't been as subtle as we thought. Peter begins to speak, so I lift my head to look at him. "I- I mean we would be honored, Sir." I nod my head eagerly as Mr. Stark grins at us. "Now all you need is your Aunt's approval." Both Peter and I look over at Aunt May, begging her with our eyes. She sighs in resignation. "Fine. But if they get hurt, I'm blaming you Stark. And you don't want that shit storm coming your way." All three of us grinned at May, and she smiled back. "Ok kiddos, get packed up. We need to head out in the next half hour." Peter and I both jump up in surprise and run to our room. We start packing away all of our projects into various boxes. "Pete! Clothes!" I say as I remember that we need clothes, not just our tech. "Shit!" He says and starts to pack up our closet. We share most of our clothes, as we are the same size. We grab all our bags and boxes head out to the car. "Bye Aunt May!" We yell behind us. "Love you guys! Visit soon our you two will be fucked!" She yells back. Peter and I snicker. "Alrighty, everyone here? Let's go to the compound!" Mr. Stark says. Peter and I share a glance. What is our life right now?!
Wanda's POV "Ok team! The Parkers will be here in 30 minutes! Everyone on their best behavior, we want to make them feel welcomed. I'm talking to you, Bucky." Steve announces. Bucky Barnes, Steve's best friend just grins at him and states, "No promises." We go off to our rooms to prepare for meeting the twins. I start to look for the best outfit to wear.
I cannot wait to meet Y/N.
Suddenly, I hear someone knocking on my door. Without turning away from my closet, I use my powers to open the door. "Need any help?" I hear Nat ask. "YES. That would super helpful." I exclaim. While she starts looking for something for me to wear, I run into the bathroom to start getting my hair ready. I hear Nat call from outside the bathroom. "What was that again? I couldn't hear you." I ask as I walk to the bathroom door. "I said, you know this isn't a party, right? We're just meeting them and helping them get settled in." I blush, look down, and reply, "I know. I just want to look good." I glance up at Nat and immediately regret it. She's giving me the biggest shit-eating grin I've ever seen. "Oooo, you actually do like her! I was kind of kidding, but I will admit, she is HOT." She teases in a singsongy voice. "Just give me the clothes." I grumble. Nat hands them to me, still grinning, shrugs, and starts to walk out of the room. Right before she gets out the door she says, "Shoot your shot with her. The worst that will happen is she rejects you. And I highly doubt that's going to happen. Your equally as hot as she is." She then walks completely out of the room, leaving me standing there, unable to stop blushing.

Firefly Chapter Twenty-Nine
2023
7:30 PM
After the decision was made that we would stay for the night Ellie begged Joel to take her to look around after she ran back inside. "Take her to check all Bill's traps. Make sure they're still intact and while you do that I'll find something to make us for dinner." He sighed and looked at Ellie before looking at me, "we should pack the truck up," he said. Ellie rolled her eyes, head leaning back as she let out a groan. "We can do that after! Come on, let's go!" She grabbed his wrist and pulled him out the door.
I stood there for a little while looking into the dining room. The table was covered in dust just like everything else along with their last meal. I took a deep breath and got to work clearing it off. Frank hated having the house a mess. Of course the dust would just come back but it doesn't hurt to clean everything up before we leave. Maybe I can convince Joel to help cover the furniture in sheets. Who knows maybe we could come back here one day.
After I had everything cleaned up I dug around and found something to make for dinner. It wasn't too hard, Bill was always prepared. Hell, the man was a prepper before all this shit even happened. He had a plan already thought up and then when shit went down he put that plan into action. He was smart for isolating himself from people and not going with the military when they came here. I could not see Bill in the QZ zone.
After Joel and Ellie came back she ran up to me slightly out of breath and talked a mile a minute about Bill's insane traps. I could hear Joel's heavy sigh and his boots walking closer to where we were in the kitchen. "Thought I told you to stay with me." Ellie rolled her eyes, waving him off, and continued on her excited rant about how Bill was a crazy old man. "You're right! He was just like Joel! Maybe a little more paranoid but holy shit!"
After we ate dinner Ellie wanted to go outside again. "It's getting dark," I told her. "Please please please!" I held a hand up to stop her, "Fine. But…we aren't going too far!" The sun was almost completely gone now. "So, you and Joel made up?" I looked over at Ellie and shrugged. "Kind of, I guess. I mean there is still a lot to talk about. Not everything can be fixed overnight."
"What did he do that made you leave?" I stopped walking and turned to her. "Look, Joel…Joel is very protective of those he cares about. And with me and him being…in a relationship I became his biggest weakness. And that meant he was over protective of me. We had a fight and things were said. And instead of sticking around to talk it out after we both cooled down, I ran."
"What kinds of things?" She asked. I took a breath and we continued walking. "Hurtful things. Things that take time to get over."
When we got back to the house Joel was in the garage that sat beside the house. He was packing the truck up with anything we would need. Food, clothes, camping stuff like sleeping bags and a portable stove. "We should be getting to bed. I want to leave at dawn." Ellie groaned, "that's so early!" She stalked across the yard, grumbling about how Joel was a grumpy old man.
"You've been a real help in reminding me why I never had kids!" I called after her. She put her thumbs up in the air, turning to walk backwards. "Glad I could be helpful!" She gave me a sarcastic smile, flipped me off and slammed the door. "Okay," I whispered, sighing and shaking my head.
"I thought you used to always want kids." I turned my head to look at Joel, who avoided any and all eye contact. "Yeah, back when the world wasn't overrun by some parasite that makes people raging lunatics. Back when I was still young and still held onto those silly little dreams even in a world like this. But those dreams faded and reality set in."
I looked down to see him clenching his fists then looked up to his jaw, which was also clenched. I raised an eyebrow, "you have something to say? Or maybe ask?" He didn't say anything for a few minutes and I began to think he never was. "You…uh…did you…were you seeing someone?" My eyebrows shot up at Joel stumbling over his words and trying not to let his anger get the best of him.
"Are you asking if I fucked other men in the ten years we were together?" His jaw ticked as his dark eyes bored into my soul. "What if I did? You going to go find each and everyone of them and kill them?" He took slow, heavy steps towards me. "That depends." He was standing in front of me now and all I could do was smirk.
"No, Joel. There hasn't been anyone else. If I need that kind of release I just did it myself. Even though it was never good enough. You ruined me for anyone else. Nobody would have been good enough. I would have never been happy." I leaned up and pressed my lips to his. "Now, let's go to bed. We gotta get up at dawn!"
5:00 AM
"She isn't going to like you waking her up." Joel ignored me and walked to the room that Ellie had stayed in last night. I didn't get much sleep last night. All I could think about was that Bill and Frank's corpses were right down the hall. Joel fell asleep pretty quickly with how exhausted he was but he never fell into a deep sleep.
He hasn't fallen into a deep sleep since before Cordyceps. He used to have to be yelled at and have his bedroom door pounded on just for him to wake up to hear his alarm go off. Now, he sleeps but it's a light sleep. Every time I moved his eyes would crack open and then he finally pulled me into him until I eventually fell asleep. That was only four hours ago.
The sun wasn't even up yet, it was still dark. We still had an hour until dawn, but Joel wanted to get out of here and on the road. While he went to wake Ellie I headed downstairs and grabbed something that we could quickly eat. "What the fuck! It's still dark out!" Ellie yelled. "Get your ass up!" I heard heavy footsteps coming down the stairs and Joel appeared in the dining room. "I'm done with her!" He stormed out the door, slamming it as he went.
Once Ellie and I ate we headed out to the truck where Joel was giving everything a once over. We had a couple cans of gas in the bed of the truck with everything else so we would be good for a while. As soon as Ellie got in the truck she started opening and closing compartments, pulling down the visor and looking around. "Move it," Joel told her, thumb hitching over his shoulder to the back seat.
She clambered into the back seat and started looking around. Joel got in the driver's seat, and I climbed into the passenger seat. "It's like a rocketship!" Joel sighed, but there was a hint of a smile on his face. "Never been in a car?" I asked, and she shook her head. Joel turned the keys in the ignition and started the truck, pulled out of the garage, pulled up to the gate, and I got out to open it. Once he pulled through, I made sure the fate was closed before climbing back in the truck, and we started our journey.

It was the one Christmas Carmy didn’t come home. With how things were with him, you weren’t shocked. He barely answered your texts, you talked for two minutes every few months. Things were just different, you knew he was distancing himself. It took some time but you put the pieces together as to why and weren’t going to force him into anything.
You walked into the house, apple cider in your hand, something you did every year you came. Sugar hated that Donna drank herself a mess every holiday, which made bringing alcohol feel wrong, not to mention when you started coming over for these events as an adult, you were still under the legal drinking age and you knew food was off limits when Donna was cooking the 7 fishes. So apple cider it was.
Not bothering to engage in whatever conversation was happening in the living room, you moved throughout the house looking for a quiet corner to just collect your thoughts. Life had been pretty rocky lately, you just moved back not that long ago and you still felt like you were trying to get your footing from being in Indiana with the jackass that was your ex. You weren’t sure what life held for you, but the pressure alone was enough to weigh you down.
You let out the deepest sigh as you collapsed your back on the wall next to the pantry where Mikey was standing, the only quiet corner of the house that wasn’t the bathroom which was currently being hot boxed by the Faks.
He let out a chuckle and a head shake, letting his long hair fall all crazy around him.
“Just need a minute.” You stared at the ceiling.
“Feel that.” Mikey was now staring up at the ceiling with you. “Sorry about the craziness.”
“Ironically, Mikey, this is the most stable environment I’ve been in.”
“You know that’s fucked, right?” He looked over at you with a smile.
“Beats sitting in an empty house waiting for a santa that never comes.” You remembered the one Christmas in middle school where your dad told you he was going to visit Santa and to stay in the living room and he’d be back with gifts, he didn’t show back up for 3 days, and all he had in his hand was a public indecency ticket and a 6-pack. “I don’t think you get how much this shit means to me Mikey. You, Sug, Carm, shit, even Richie. You guys saved me, Donna being well,” you pointed to the kitchen as a way to replace any verb that just felt completely underwhelming in comparison of the action, “it’s something I’d happily deal with just to have your guys company.”
“We love you, kid.” He grabbed your shoulder, staring at you.
After a moment of silence, you spoke up.
“You talk to him lately?”
“No.” He answered quickly. “You?” He was now staring down at the floor, waiting for an answer.
“Not really. Maybe a month ago. He actually called me once, wished me a happy half birthday.” You chuckled and looked over at Mikey who was making a weird face. “It’s like a tradition.” You started to explain since he looked very confused. “We’ve done it since we were kids.” You shrugged. “But other than that and a text to let me know he wasn’t coming home, he hasn’t answered my calls. Barely texts me back.”
“You know last year, he was standing right there where you are, giving me shit ‘bout talking to Claire Bear for him.” He laughed at the memory while you rolled your eyes. “Jealous?” Mikey caught you and smirked.
“Barely.” You huffed. “It’s just so crazy you guys can’t see it.” You shrugged and looked at Mikey who was giving you a look like ‘are you going to continue?’. It made you laugh but you obliged. “You’re gonna make fun of me and him for saying this, but Carm, he’s so delicate. He gets tipped off his scale so easily you gotta ease him into things. I bet you, you, Richie, and Fak bum rushed him about how hot she is, and how he needs to hit that and whatever. That shit throws him off, you gotta be smooth with it. When he’s here, he’s waiting for something to tip the scales, that's why it’s so easy to tip.”
“It was cousin Steve, not Fak, but you’re not wrong, that is what happened.” He nodded, letting his hand rest on the frame across from him as his head dropped and his back was still against the other side of the frame. “It’s like you’re his best friend or some shit.” It was meant as a joke, a light hearted comment but it held a lot more weight for you.
“I don’t know about that anymore.”
“What happened to you out in Indiana. Could tell shits been different for you since then.” Mikey continued the conversation, his leg now lightly kicking the door frame as a subconscious tik.
“Some really fucked shit happened. After all of it, I went to see Carmy, could tell he was working really hard to separate himself from this, and I just so happen to be a part of this. I think I tip the scales.”
“If it makes you feel better, I most definitely tip the fuckin’ Carmy scales.” Mikey laughed, looking back down at the ground.
“You know, you’re like a brother to me, Mikey.” That comment brought his eyes back up to you, his head nodding and his hair flopping all over the place as he acknowledged you.
“I love you like a sister, you know this, sometimes even more than Sugar, you don’t ask Ma if she’s okay 20 times a day.” He teased, a smile growing on his face.
It was nice to see him smile, it was so rare these days it felt like.
“Your moms scales are easily tipped, too. Probably where Carm gets it.” You were now walking past him in the door frame and sitting on the radiator box that was parallel to the stairs. “Guess I got my dad’s scales, untippable.” You shrugged as you jumped up.
“Think I got mine’s too.” Mikey’s eyebrows raised, he shifted his positioning, so he was facing you since you moved, but quickly mimicked how he was standing before, back against the door frame, hand on the opposite side holding him up. “How is your Pops?”
You laughed and shook your head. “It’s Christmas Eve so, drunk, probably in a casino.”
“Some things don’t change.” His eyes were now connected to yours.
“And yet I feel like I can’t recognize my life anymore.” Your legs began to kick back and forth slightly hitting the radiator beneath you.
“Well, a lot of things do change.” Mikey shrugged, a smile growing on his face at the irony of his statements.
“Funny guy.” You smiled back.
“Bear made me this drawing that Christmas. Told me about Copenhagen.” He let out a deep sigh. “I tipped the scale though.”
“He just misses you, Mike. Wishes he was doing this with you.” It was spoken like it was so obvious and Mikey missed all the signs.
“He told you that?” It was curious how he asked, like he knew all along, but there was some shit no one but him knew that prevented it all from happening.
“No, but I know he told you that, he’s my best friend, I've known him since we were kids, I know what he’s thinking before he thinks it.” You spoke jokingly but obviously.
“It’s just a mess here.” Mikey wasn’t in the mood to joke about this and you could tell that immediately.
“But it’s home.” You spoke in the same seriousness. The doorbell rang and you looked at Mikey and quickly nodded your head to the right. “I’ll get it.”
Mikey stayed leaning against the pantry’s door frame as you walked over to the front door. With a smile, you tossed open the door, expecting to see Pete or even one of the Fak’s since they always managed to lock themselves out every year but your heart dropped when you saw him.
“Hey, I uh, called your dad, said I could probably find you here.”
The last time you saw this man was when Richie was pointing a gun at him in the middle of The Beef which was last year. That added with the fact that he mentioned talking to your father, you barely got to talk to him and he can just call him up and he offers up your information like its nothing. The feeling of your heart dropping was quickly being replaced with rage bubbling in every part of your boddy, but your hands and arms specifically.
“What the fuck do you want.” It must’ve been obvious you were getting angry because the man in front of you lifted his arms in a sense on innocence but you knew there was nothing innocent about him.
“Was back in the area, missed you, I know how much you love the holidays, figured maybe we could go out, catch up, or not talk at all.” His eyebrows raised and as he was talking you definitely smelt the alcohol on his breath.
“You should actually get the fuck out of here.” Your hand was firm on the door, despite them shaking, ready to slam it closed.
The man took a step forward now, his begging mixed with a desire to show power. As his hand rested on the door he began to slightly push it open against yours.  “Don’t be like that, I always hated when you were like that, you’re too pretty to have an attitude that ugly.”
Suddenly, the pushing on the door stopped and you felt a hand right above yours. Turning you saw Mikey standing behind you, taking all the weight of the door in his hand as he held firm with a deep frown on his face.
“Pretty sure she told you to get the fuck outta here.”
You weren’t sure if you were mortified or happy someone had your back right now.
“I’m talkin’ to the lady, alright, don’t mean to be a bother, you don’t–you don’t gotta get involved.” It was said to be nonchalant but anyone could have read between the lines.
“No, you’re not talkin’ to the lady.” In a way so opposite of his other hand, Mikey lightly touched your shoulder and smiled at you as he nodded behind him. Quickly he was taking your hand in his and moving you behind him. “C’mere sweetheart, stand right there.” He turned his attention back to the man at the door and hardened his face again. “You’re talkin’ to me. Who are you?”
“I’m a friend.” He pointed to you and tried to peak past Mikey at you.
“You ain’t shit. This is my house, my property, and she’s my friend. So I’m gonna need you to get the fuck out of here.” Mikey gripped the guy up with such ease, if it wasn’t for the flex of his muscles and the veins on his arms popping out, it wouldn’t have been obvious as to how hard his grip around this guys neck was. He tossed him down the stairs almost like a ragdoll, it helped that the man was in the bag drunk and had little to no reflexes readily available anymore. “If you ring this doorbell or do any other shit in or around this house, I’ll kill you.” With that the door was being slammed and he was turning to look at you. It broke him to see someone he saw as family so scared, your eyes were terrified still.
He was tossing his arm over your shoulder and pushing you back through the kitchen and to the dining room where the chaos was. A sure way to keep your mind off everything.
“Hey, c’mon now. Ignore that, let’s steal one of those cannolis, yea?”

The Base History of Suzume Takami
So I got back into MHA again with Season 6 making its appearance on cable t.v., and that led to me falling into a dabihawks obsession. And like many people who have squeezed these two together, I chose to ignore canon for the most part, pretend what happened in the latest chapter didn't happen, and instead gave them a child and a sort of not realistic idealistic-ish fluff life.
And so here we are.
Quick disclaimer: this is simply for fun. Opinions/headcanons on certain characters are completely my own, so if you have one different to mine than that's fine. So
I have been planning on doing a 'Base history' for a different oc, but after the said becoming obsessed with MHA and dabihawks, she kind of took over my mind and a bit of my time. With that being the case, here's the base history/character profile of my dabihawks daughter, Suzume Takami
So I came up with Suzume after hanging out with my friend at a vintage clothing fair that was happening at a mall I used to frequent. I was already deep into my dabihawks and MHA fixation and there was just something about this one outfit I saw and an animatic I was playing on repeat spurred me into creating an alternative style/fairy grunge-ish character for them with a bit of a tech wear vigilante costume with the only name coming to mind being "Punk Hazard" (which I'm keeping because I like it).
After some searching for a proper name for like, 30 minutes, I settled on Suzume and then started working on a bio and art soon after. This that bio and art is at the end.
Here we go:
Name: Suzume Takami-Todoroki Aiuchi
Name Meaning: Suzume → Sparrow
Aiuchi → Love Inside
Vigilante Name: Punk Hazard
Age: 16
Quirk: Heated Glass —> Suzume can superheat and manipulate glass to her will (a la Cinder Fall Style).
Height: 5'9
Eye color: blue/gold gradient heterochromia (?)
Hair color: Ombre → Dark brown (dyed) blonde (traditionally)
Sexuality: Pansexual (with an AFAB lean)
Personality Snapshot: Mostly cool and fun-loving, almost to the point where you would never know she was a super anxious kid back there. Does her best to be a nice person. Adventurous and reckless. Fiercely protective over those she cares about and even sometimes strangers. Excitable. Hates sitting still. Very affectionate. Strong willed. Determined. Goofy. Kinda bad at lying.
Favorite foods: yogurt covered pretzels, chicken katsu sandwiches, microwave pizza
Favorite kind of music: rock and alternative
Hobbies: plays bass guitar/acoustic guitar, sings sometimes, cooking, glass blowing, writes sheet music, partying, exploring, climbing on shit.
(Short) Bio: Suzume Takami-Todoroki, born to the former villain Dabi and Number 2 Hero Hawks, has spent a majority of her life trying to be as normal and unbothered as possible. Her fathers, concerned for what could happen to her if anyone ever found out that they ever had her in the first place, hid her under the name Suzume Aiuchi up until she was 12-years-old when she was unceremoniously forced to come out by the public, leaving her in this point in her life where she felt like she had to make a decision on which path to follow – hero or villain?
She chose neither.
Instead, Suzume attends a normal high school with little to no interest in participating in any hero courses as to fall into either of the two boxes society wants to force her into. That is until a certain incident at a club (that she snuck out to go to) that she considers forging a new path for herself in order to protect the ones she loves and maybe – just maybe – finally bring the reform that's been desperately needed in this superhuman society.
Notable Relationships:
→Hawks/Keigo Takami & Dabi/Touya Todoroki
Suzume is quite close with her fathers. As a child, she spent most of her time with Touya given Keigo's hectic hero life and the fact that it was difficult for Touya to be out without someone recognizing him as the villain Dabi, but that doesn't mean either of them were ever super absent from her life. In fact, anytime Keigo came home, he'd make it his mission to spend as much time with her as possible. She loves them both dearly and would do anything for them, but she has some complex feelings surrounding her slightly turbulent childhood in that she feels bad for feeling upset about certain situations that happened as well as the general situation of being the daughter of a very notorious A-rank villain and a hero with blood on his hands. They never made her feel this way, but she doesn't voice her issues because she doesn't want to discredit their efforts in giving her a better life than they had.
→The Todoroki Family
Suzume has a pretty good relationship with most of the Todoroki Family, being very close with her cousins (wink wink) and her uncle Shouto who babysat her on short notice whenever he could, but does not have much of a relationship with Endeavor/Enji Todoroki. Touya made it very clear that he did not want Suzume anywhere near him and swore up and down that he would never see her to the point where he didn't even know she existed until a random encounter at the supermarket brought them together, but even then she did not have much contact with him. In short, her current opinion of him is negative. She sees him as the reason her dad (Dabi) fell down the path he did and she just hates how he was to his family. Anytime they cross paths, she avoids them as much as possible.
→ Aimi Aikuchi/Cupid
Aimi Aikuchi has been Suzume's best friend since childhood. She stuck up for her after her true identity was revealed, coming to her defense anytime someone tried to start shit. She's the lead singer/bassist of their yet to be named band and a lovecore themed hero in training by the name of Cupid. They are nearly inseparable, being basically glue at the hip. They support each other despite their different career choices and oftentimes help each other out whenever they happen to be in battle together. They are each other's day ones and will always be.
→ Reina Nanami
Reina is Suzume's quirkless other best friend whom she ends school with. She is a bit louder and rebellious than Suzume, often being the one to drag the trio into trouble. She loves partying, often putting in front of school and any other important activity that demands her attention. She feels insecure being quirkless and sometimes expresses a bit of jealousy that her two best friends are super powered but she is very loyal to the both of them. She plays keyboard and sometimes the drums in her band and was actually the one who suggested Suzume pick up an instrument since she loves music so much.
→ Ghost
(Currently under development) Ghost is a mysterious young hero that Suzume meets one night as Punk Hazard and she falls head over heels for. Ghost is very flirtatious with Suzume whenever they meet. Currently, neither of them know much about each other (mostly because their story – specifically Ghost's– is underdeveloped).
That's all I have for now! If you're interested in learning more about Suzume, feel free to comment, maybe send an ask? If not, that's cool. I'll just leave you with some concept art and final designs for our girl down below. Thanks for stopping by!

To Sir, With Love Episode 1: The curse turned your son gay, now what?
In an unexpected turn "To Sir, With Love" actually has English subtitles on the official channel only one week after release. This means I can finally watch it without having to resort to the questionable yellow subtitles hardsubbed over the Vietnamese subtitles, that were the only Eng subs before this. I don't expect this to be very fluffy, or to have a happy ending, but it might make me have feelings, which is currently good enough for me.
It starts off with a Star Wars scrolling intro, which really isn't necessary. Tian's mom could have explained this, and then we could be looking at the meeting (and the pretty dresses). The most important part is that it says the year, so after a bit of googling I know that it's 1931. Or maybe that was the year they formed the 5 Dragons. Well then I learned nothing, so let's get on with it so I can look at pretty dresses.
Tumblr media
Okay, that's better, purple sequin dress fills me with joy (unlike scrolling backstories).
I learned so much about the Five Dragons from the intro and Li explaining it to Tian! I sure hope they don't lose a family in the first 20 minutes of runtime! Well, Four Dragons doesn't sound as good, so let's not change the name.
Tumblr media
Some guy explains homosexuality and homophobia to the kids, they don't really care and just want to go back to playing.
Tumblr media
Jesus Christ, I knew this was probably gonna be tragic, but I didn't expect gay suicide in the first 30 minutes. Well, at least I'm no longer holding onto hope for a happy ending. Everyone is very sad about Zhang, but they don't seem to realise that they could learn something from this.
Li decides the family needs to go out to feel better. I feel like Chinese opera might not be the best thing to take his mind off the whole gay thing, but hey, what do I know, I just have genre awareness and way too much cynicism.
And that brings us to:
Tumblr media
Murder attempt 1 (feat. CGI snake) (this show will probably have enough murder attempts that numbering them makes sense) I really thought Chan would try to blame this on the curse (I know I would have). Like if a guy kills himself, for the next couple of weeks you can get away with a lot of shit, as long as you say it was the vengeful spirit, and everyone completely misses this opportunity.
Tumblr media
The kids are so adorable, I really hope the rivalry doesn't get to them.
The thing is, neither the scarf nor the hairpin are incriminating, but burning them is really suspicious. If someone (most likely Chan) found them, you could just claim that he was going to gift it to his mom. I get that Li took them away to punish him, but burning them is really suspicious, especially in the middle of the night (yeah, it's probably relatively early in the evening, but still).
I thought they would try to blame Tian liking feminine things on the curse. But then again, that would mean acknowledging it (both the gayness and the very probable vengeful spirit), which they probably want to avoid.
Tumblr media
OH NO, THE GIRLS ARE FIGHTING! I honestly really like the moms, even if both of them are terrible people. Li is nicer than I was expecting, but she offsets that with the homophobic abuse. Chan is a mean villain second wife, and she's great at that.
And at the end we time-skip ahead 12 years, this means it's either 1945 or sometime after. The kids are now adults, Tian still likes opera.
Well that's it for episode 1. Next time we meet the love interest, get even more intense about inheritance and I'll probably find more things to blame on the curse.
