First off I want you to know that this entire night I have been waking up every 2 hours in wait for this (only for it to have come out 4 hours ago). It has been a very frustrating night and I’m not going back to sleep now

Anyways, so new Legendary. To be completely honest I’m confused why some people are shocked. I mean I suppose I was only assuming it’d be a Legendary, they hadn’t officially said prior that it was going to be one, so maybe it’s just that I was convinced, but still

To be honest I can’t really make out much of a silhouette. I mean I think that’s her hair at the top, presumably cloud like, but I can’t really tell the bottom. I know there’s supposed to be something on the right, but I’m not sure what. To be honest, to me it looks like a bug with little lightning wings

One thing I can make out though is that she has some sort of ribbon thing around her, like what Lotus has (idk what they’re called)

My personal guess is that she’s going to have some basis on some sort of eastern mythology, or at least take inspiration, but I’m not sure what specifically. I don’t have extensive knowledge on mythology in that region of the world (or most mythology tbh, but I at least have some knowledge on European ones)

Edit: I think she’ll be based on something from Korean mythology specifically, because of the spear. And also because in my search to find what the ribbon thing is, I found that it might be a Korean thing? Or like, there’s some sort of Korean being that has those flowing ribbons. I’m not sure what specifically, I can only seem to get a word that seems to translate to “fairy” and doesn’t have an easy English translation, or is a transliteration like the spear thing. But I’m looking at 선녀 for reference. I don’t know if it’s accurate to what she is, I’m just going down a rabbit hole. And also as I translate/read this article I found, it seems to also be a thing in Chinese and Japanese culture, it just doesn’t have a clean translation into English

Also I think now I’ve made out that the two lightning bolts are the top and the bottom of her spear. Though granted I’m not sure that looks like the weapon she’s supposed to presumably have (I think it’s this, called a woldo and apparently translates to “moon blade”, which fits the criteria)

I mean maybe it works with the lightning bolt having two points? I’m not sure

Another uncommon shipping I think would work is Sonia and Nagito. She seems very pleased the way his eyes lit up during the trial like hers do during horror movies and she stuck up for him later on too. I’m a little afraid of him having that much power though…

Ahaha I actually had an au for them post-graduation in a non-despair time in which Nagito is traveling to Novoselic after having won a cruise trip there. And, though he would have avoided long travel, considering that his old classmate happened to be ruling said kingdom, Nagi thought he’d take the risk in order to get a chance to see her in action (plus he’s wanted to see the kingdom after learning so much about it through Sonia). Surprisingly nothing too catastrophic happens on the way and Nagito has a pleasant time taking in the sights. However, he starts noticing that not everything is rainbows and sunshine in Novoselic, and in fact many of its citizens seem rather displeased by the current government. This becomes all too clear when, during a public appearance/announcement made by none other than Sonia herself, Nagito overhears copious jeers towards the princess and even has to step in to stop someone from throwing a shoe at her—the scene causing Nagito’s presence in the kingdom to be known to Sonia. Sonia has a guard escort Nagito to her home, feeling utterly embarrassed of having him witness such a thing. It doesn’t take long for her to come clean of Novoselic’s troubles—more specifically the staggering amount of people who find her inadequate to rule and are opposed to her upcoming coronation. Sonia admits that she’s been lost in what to do ever since her parents sudden passing and feels she’s starting to agree with her citizen’s thoughts of being a failure of a ruler. She’s truly considering giving the crown to her cousin whom some of the citizens are supporting. Nagito’s heart went out to her, knowing fully well the feeling of losing one’s parents so unexpectedly, but to also be expected to lead a nation right after? My god the amount of stress must be astounding. To see the Ultimate Princess this…broken…it was blasphemous. And like hell he’s going to let her give up her crown and fall to despair—not if he can do anything about. So, Nagito offers his services. He reminds Sonia of what great things she’s done and is capable of doing, but what she really needs is support—someone on her corner. And though he may be a lowly nobody, he DOES understand a thing or two about politics (and manipulation). He’ll be her shoulder to cry on so she can turn to her citizens with a collected and confident face. He’ll be her test run when she’s unsure of an idea. He’ll be her eyes and ears to keep track of the masses and their tidying. He’ll be her anything and everything she needs in order to be the best beacon of Hope she can be. And my god does he really mean it.

Of course, this au wasn’t simply going to be a hurt/comfort with a happy ending. Oh no, no, not with Nagito. It would soon get twisted and quite complicated as many things do with him. And their ever intertwining relationship will set Sonia forth as a queen that Novoselic with surely remember.

Oh my god this ask really unlocked these old ass memories of this au that I legit just came up with after listening to Imagine Dragon’s “Enemy” once ☝️ I was like “but what if Nagito becomes Sonia’s advisor and makes her Novoselic’s most notorious ruler??” I didn’t think I still remembered this much of it but here we are lol

Just finished This Woven Kingdom and yeah it was like really hard to go through during the first 50-60% of the book but the latter part got me so excited I literally flew through it!

I love Alizeh so much she's literally the sweetest and the kidest and she looked so cute absolutely massacring those 5 armed mercenaries with her sewing supplies! God I just love her so much! How bad tho is it that I legit saw close to nothing in her romance with Kamran. Like he was going insane thinking about her 24/7 meanwhile Alizeh thought of him like a total of 5 times mostly when she was reminded by other people. Honestly good for her, girl was just trying to stay alive👏👏

Kamran was so funny, not as in "lol he makes funny jokes" but as in "lmao he sucks I love bullying his ass". He's such a nepo baby, like an entitled little ass with major anger issues and a side of mommy issues. Nah but fr he was a bit on the obnoxious side sometimes and it got on my nerves, I say this with love. Unfortunately I've heard he only gets worse, shame I quite liked him. Loved his simping tho fr he was so down bad it was sad to read sometimes. Also absolutely LOVED his interactions with Hazan, had both me on the floor every single time🤣

Cyrus literally appeared so close to the end but I really like his character because he is just SO PETTY🤣🤣🤣 He's just trying to do his job and shit like literally does not want to interact with anyone, I absolutely get him. Also he has red hair and is a dragon owner instantly he goes up on the favorite scale I don't make the rules. No but can't wait to read more about him and Alizeh in These Infinite Threads like I can tell they will give me the true enemies to lovers my heart desires, not whatever Kamran and Alizeh were giving. Their bickering sound hilarious already.

And by far my favourite character os Hazan. I ADORE HIM!!! He is literally so freaking sassy and so very tired of Kamran's shit. Every time he opened his mouth he wiped the floor with Kamren istg it was amazing🤣🤣🤣🤣 AND HE HAS A LOYAL LITTLE FIREFLY ISN'T THAT JUST THE CUTEST!!!! Also his devotion to Alizeh is just so sweet, I was so pleasantly surprised when he was revealed to be Alizeh's childhood friend. I really am hoping he doesn't become a love interest but just stays a loyal besgie through and through to Alizeh (like Kenji and Juliette)

All in all, this book is like an 8.5/10 for me ONLY because it was so hard to get through the first half of the book.

Queen Tahereh Mafi has gone and done it again folks and more people really should talk about this series more!

Edit: I would like to clarify, just because I made it very clear I'm team Cyrus from the start, doesn't mean that I did not find Alizeh and Kamran cute! No they were super adorable actually when they interacted. And Kamran was legitimately down horrendous like boy get up! My only problem was that there were so few interactions between them, that it felt like they just developed these feelings for the image they had constructed of the other in their head. Like they literally had a conversation a total of what 3 times?? (Since the first book takse place in a total of 3 days) It didn't really make sense to me.

Right now I'm chosing to trust the forced proximity with Alizeh and Cyrus, also these two literally can't stand each other's ass already and they've just met so I feel like they're giving more enemies to lovers than Alizeh with Kamran. And since Tahereh Mafi herself said this is an enemies to lover romance, I'm going to trust my instincts

There's something I love about the new Consequences AU and how it compares to the AUs and music it's come from.

Where things like Roxy's old kingdom being destroyed and her being almost drowned as a baby are metaphorical, there's a lot of things that strangely aren't. Roxy specifically denying the gods and the powers that be is something she does in most of my interpretations of her. The gods in most situations, isn't a spooky green rabbit, it's the people in the Fazbear boardroom making the world's worst decisions ever. To the animatronics, they are the gods. There's no higher authority than them, and they can have them destroyed without ever having met them, at just a moment's notice, for seemingly no reason.

Bonnie once believing in the gods and turning against them works like it does for most of the animatronics too. Even just questioning Fazbear isn't something many of them have been able to do, but all of them will eventually learn to. The more they learn through Roxy, despite what they might have known before, the more they realise what kind of company they've been forced to be a part of.

And Roxy's attitude towards these gods is always the same. She won't pretend to be nice to people she knows don't care about her. She won't put any extra effort into maintaining social etiquette if there's no point, if there's nothing for her to gain from it. Fazbear CEOs and board members have hurt her so much already, she doesn't give a flying shit about them, she's not wasting her time on them unless she absolutely has to. In this universe, the same can be said about the gods. She doesn't care for them and they don't care about her, so why bother? They've told like six people to assassinate her already, why would she choose to listen to them?

Roxy's relationship with the Minis and DJ? That's the same as it is across the board with most of the AUs I have. The attempt on Roxy's life when she's barely been born is shown differently in the new AU, but is still the same concept. Some things have been shifted around, such as the specific motivations, but not by a lot. I suppose Bonnie's dad in this fills the roll of Vanessa if Vanessa was also actually Mimic? He doesn't have an exact match here in terms of scale, but the comparisons are there.

The whole kingdom being destroyed, Roxy finding out that that's where she originally came from, that she was the newborn prince with a wholeass family she's never known, all lines up so well with everything else too. The pizzeria, scrapped storage, the old attractions there before her racetrack, it's all gone and she knew nothing about it. She's once again found out the truth in possibly the worst way imagineable, and she doesn't know what to do with this information, but honestly, who would?

The biggest difference there is that in this new AU, Roxy has the choice of what to do. In what's basically canon to the game, Roxy doesn't have that choice and likely never will. Where she's had to sacrifice her Raceway and Salon, sacrifice the vast majority of her life and her purpose for the safety of everyone around her, in this universe, she can choose not to. She sacrifices certainty this time, something she can regain as time goes on but in any other universe, there is never any certainty to get back. There will always be a Mimic threat and she can't get any of her old life back until it's dead and gone. She has to pay a price to keep Mimic contained, and while the Afton/Glitchtrap gods scramble to convince her otherwise, the Roxy in this new AU does have the choice whether she pays it or not.

But she will always still have to deal with the consequences of those with power. Every single time. And every single time so far, her entire existence is the consequence for them. Her life overall has not been the result of her own choices, but rather, the choices of people that never cared about her to begin with...

At least in this new universe she has a good childhood to fall back on and a cool ass horsie. And can actually do something about this shit. She can't normally do that :(

I like to think of this as post CK/RoW, Kaz with his gambling den empire, Inej rolling in after a long voyage of hunting salvers. Just imagining them visiting jesper and wylan and sending those kruge notes flying in their faces, insufferable couple XD

Shows I Dropped: I haven’t dropped any shows recently just bcs I haven’t really been watching any, but I dropped Merlin, Supernatural, and Once Upon A Time several times. I want to finish them but I get to certain seasons and just get bored.

Currently Reading: so many fanfiction. Like so so many. My google chrome doesnt even show a number it’s just :) and it’s a hodgepodge of so many fandoms (I’m not about to get cancelled for what I read). After my tumblr scroll tho I need to read the new chapter of what’s one more? (bad decision) by @loveable-sea-lemon (I am obsessed with this fic in the best way possible. I apologize for nothing.)

you answered an architectural question about dorne and Stormlands a while back so I hoped you’d be able to help me on this one. The round city of Baghdad- which kingdom do you think it would fit in best? At first in thought dorne but the rivers in it, plus the history of stormsend makes me wonder if the Stormlands would be the right place?

I don't know; I'm rotating various options in my head and none feels right because none of the established cultures in Westeros seem to be the kind to build a planned capital from scratch. The major settlements seem to all have grown spontaneously because they were in advantageous position for trade, or because the ruling House grew stronger and stronger. But it's all very organic and unplanned. For me, it's not a matter of the geography of the land or of whether other castles with a circular perimeter have been built already (it's, after all, a pretty well tested defensive layout); I wonder who would have commissioned such a carefully planned citadel to be built from the ground up, with tidily allotted space for libraries, administration, businesses and so on? And I come up empty handed because I can't think of a region in westeros that fosters that kind of culture. Maybe Dorne if the Rhoynish influence extended to city planning, but it doesn't seem to be the case -- Sunspear is still the only major (or "major") city in the region and it didn't develop differently from any other castle-capital in the seven kingdoms. This kind of carefully designed settlement is something I have an easier time imagining in Essos, to be honest.
