not to be crazy but max and charles have to be the closest thing we have to cosmic proof of soulmates because how is a once in a generation talent born twice, only sixteen days apart. you know how ridiculous those odds are, not to mention the weird patterns with their racing numbers and parallels with milestones in their careers. how were we ever supposed to not buy into their narrative?

pairing: Aemond Targaryen x Reader
summary: Aemond had not been joking when he said they would work on another child after their first was born. Aemond never joked. [ part ii of this work ]
tags: heterosexual sex (m/f), fingering, breeding kink, mentions of past pregnancy, use of High Valyrian, Aemond so in love with his wife that he might fall over.

-------------------------------âď¸-------------------------------
The fire was warm as it crackled in the hearth. Staying off the coming chill of the cooler months settling in upon them.
Aemond stared into the hypnotic flames. His wine from dinner at his left while his wife sat in her twin seat at his right, wrestling with the babe in her arms. âStop fighting little one.â She whispered under her breath at their child. To which Aemond had to scoff quietly as his cheeks raised in a smirk. You might as well tell a bird not to fly, if it was one of his children.
His beloved wife had given him the child he had asked for. A beautiful, strong, silver-haired paragon. With her motherâs eyes instead of his own, but no less the perfect Targaryen jewel. They named her Amena, after much debate of naming her Alyssa or Alysanne after his grandmothers. Truly they had considered it but, in the end, Aemond wanted his children to be their own person for as much as they could. So much of their lives would not be their own; their duties, their battles, their matches. Let them at least have their names.
The princess eventually settled and suckled at her motherâs breast for a time before a nurse came in to take her to the nursery. Though the Keep kept some of the finest wet nurses in all Seven Kingdoms, his wife insisted on giving their child her first & last feedings every day. No exceptions. He knew she would make an excellent mother, even before their child had been born.
The nurse gathered the babe from his wifeâs arms, kneeling down to let her kiss Amenaâs soft crown, before she came over to Aemond and did the same. âSleep well, riùčtsos.â He whispered to her, before she was carried away and the two of them were left alone.
His wife sighed heavily once the door closed. Slouching and sliding down into her chair in a very relaxed, but undignified, manner. âSo, what shall we do for the rest of our night husband?â
âI want another child.â
Understandably, his wife was surprised. It was not the response one would often expect to hear when asking how they should spend the evening before bed. Cards. Reading. Surely not perpetuating a dynasty. âDid I not just give you that one?â
Aemond chuckled as she pointed towards the door where the nurse had disappeared through. âYes. You did. But I would like us to have another.â
âReally? And what brought on this sudden change in perspective?â
He doesnât know if he should tell her that it was not a âsuddenâ change in perspective. Since that night they conceived Amena, Aemondâs goal had been to fill his wife and their wing of the castle with children. He just didnât realize how persistent the urge would be once they had one.
âI thought you wanted Amena to have siblings.â
âI do,â she agreed, which was a good start, âbut I did not think you meant now. Perhaps when they are older. I just got my body back.â
His eye roamed over his wifeâs figure. Back nearly to where it had been before and still beautiful, but he would be lying if he said he had not been thoroughly attracted to her those nine months she had been pregnant. Seeing her swell heavy with his child. Watching her body change. Her breasts grow heavy. It almost set Aemond to drool.
âI thought you said you liked being pregnant.â He reminded her, as he stood up and knelt in front of her chair. The heat from the fire on his back almost as hot as his gaze fixed on her.
He knew that pregnancy wasnât easy. Seeing his mother, his sister, and now his own wife go through it, he was aware it was not the tranquil beauty & reverence people made it out to be. But he did not think his wife despised it. She commented often on how she loved carrying their child, even amidst the complaints.
âWell, itâŚwas an experienceâŚI did not hate it.â He could see her waver as he took her hand in his. Good. Aemond did not think of himself as the clever charmer, full of charisma, like his brother was, but he was not without his own Targaryen silver tongue.
âDo you not want to give Amena a brother?â
âIs that what this is about?â Aemond stopped kissing her fingers at the sharp shift in her tone and looked up at her. âYou donât want another child. You want a son?â His silver tongue might not be as polished as he thought.
When she had been pregnant, she had asked him what he was hoping for and Aemond said he did not care. Which had been true. Sons carry a manâs name, but when you have the name âTargaryenâ the point was moot. And, as an avid learner of history, he knew that there were some Targaryen women that carried the name higher & finer than some of the men. If Amena had been male, he would have rejoiced all the same. But clearly now his wife was thinking that maybe he had hoped for a son and been disappointed. That they could try again and âget it rightâ. That was not what he meant.
âNo. I have no more of a wish for a son than daughter. We could have 15 princesses, it would not bother me.â
â15??â His wife repeated with a laugh. Her concern and ire waning quickly. âI am not giving you 15 children, of any variety.â
âBut youll give me another one, eh?â
Aemond lifted up on his knees. Back to seducing his wife as he leaned in close to her. His lips brushed against hers softly, before they traveled down her jaw to her neck. His wife sighed in his ear. Sinking further into her chair as she tilted her head back. Relaxed and pliable under his touch.
He continued to kiss her while his hands moved to undo the lacings in the front of her evening gown. A sharp gasp came to his ear, followed by a moan, as his cool hands slithered in to touch her breast. They were sensitive and tender. She had told him as much. The newfound weight of them in his hands from what they had been before made him moan as well and a shiver raced down her spine when he pulled the gown down to expose them fully.
âAemondâŚ.â She sighed out as he kissed along the edge of her breast. Imagining another babe of silver at her left since Amena seemed to favor her right.
âLet us to bed, issa jorrÄelagon.â
His wife nodded eagerly and Aemond rolled up to his feet with all the grace his training allowed him, before he offered her his hand. She of course took it, and he pulled her to her feet and against him. Holding her there for a moment to look down at her before he gave her another kiss on the lips and led them to bed.
As they were already in their evening clothes, the matter of getting undressed was easy. Aemond laid his wife on the bed and was quick to catch her arm before it moved to cover herself. She had become shy about her body and being naked in front of him since giving birth. A trend he hoped would pass. He certainly had not given her any indication that he did not still find her desirable. His hard cock stroked against the interior of her thigh, just in case she needed further encouragement.
She moaned quietly as his member brushed against her soft skin, then leaned up to kiss him. Aemond is happy to meet her. Her lips are soft as well. He always thought that. Everything about her was soft in comparison to his hard lines and, well, everything. It was why they were perfect together. Why the world needed more of their two halves in one whole, to make it better & perfect as well.
âOpen for me.â He told his wife as his fingers brushed against her thigh as well to spread them that little bit further to give him entry.
She does, and his fingers slid in to toy with her already damp sex. âSee. You may lie, issa jorrÄelagon, but this part of you cannot. You want me to put another babe in you, donât you?â
âAemondâŚâ Her voice sighed out his name as her head tipped back whilst his fingers pressed in.
âYou want another Targaryen fire in your belly, yes?â
âI just want you inside me, Aemond.â She insisted and he smirked.
âI will be. And I will be every night until we make a new scion, if youâll have me.â His thumb brushed over her clit. Swollen and beaded out as his fingers continue to thrust inside her. His pretty wife bowed her back. Called his name and begged him to enter her. âTell me true, wife.â He whispered in her ear as she was nearly close to crying with want. âDo you want me to fill you up with my seed and plant a new babe in your womb?â
âYes!â She finally admitted. âYes Aemond, I do! I want another babe. To give that to you. I want you to fuck another child into me like you did before! Please, please, give it to me Aemond!â
The prince gripped his wifeâs hair and pulled her in for a hard kiss. A reward for her honesty. As he was doing that, he pulled his fingers from her cunt and lined his cock up to refill it. Sheathing all of him in her warmth in just a single thrust. âHells Aemond!â
He gave her but a moment to adjust before he started thrusting into her. Those beautiful, full breasts of hers bouncing obscenely in front of him. His eye roaming down to her again flat stomach and imagining it full again, before traveling lower to where there sexes meet and watched his cock thrust hard to put a child into her.
âA-A-Aemond!â His wife cried out. Voice stammered by his thrusts. Hands clinging to the bedding as her legs wrapped around him.
âNot going to let me go, are you issa jorrÄelagon.â
âNever.â She told him. With this look in her eyes that shot Aemond right to his soul.
He grabbed hold of her arm and flipped them up while they kissed. Her legs still wrapped around him as she was now seated neatly in his lap as he thrust up. âI love you.â
âI love you too.â The sweet words somehow tainted a little with all the wanton, animal panting between them, but no less meaningful. âNow give me our son.â
Aemond groaned. His back teeth grinding while his wifeâs hips were grinding into his lap. He held her still and flush against him as his cock burst forth deep inside. She moaned sweetly against his ear as he filled her. Not letting go until he was sure every drop was inside his wife, then laid her down on the mattress. âJust the once, husband?â
âDo not tempt me, wife.â Aemond warned her. Both remembering the mad frenzy that had been their first bout to conceive. âDid you really mean it?â He asked when they were settled in bed for just sleep now. âWould you really want a son?â
The conversation earlier had led him to believe that she was not interested in one, but then her remark a moment ago made him question. Although Aemond was not fool enough to believe what a person said in the throws of passion anymore than what a person said when they had imbibed.
âHmmâŚI have no opinion really.â She confessed. Settling into her spot on the bed between her pillow and his chest. âI know that is what everyone hopes for us. More Targaryen sons.â Aemond hummed once. He wouldnât patronize his wife by telling her that that wasnât true. âBut, having one of each wouldnât be so bad.â Aemond looked down at his wife just as she looked up at him. A shared moment between them. âI am not giving you 15 children though.â
Aemond smirked at her quip. âWe shall see, now wonât we.â

I just imagine the ANGER that reader has when dipper & mabel becomes distraction
The twins are arguing with each other and reader just calmly said "what if just volunteer myself with the memory gun i mean i also know the equation" then they said something hurtful calmly that make the twins realize how their action put a nail into the coffin of their niece & nephew
When they got back and want to make a deal with bill but he didn't believe them but then reader said "you can't possibly got in his head with that metal plate of his" (they say something like that) bill wasn't angry but more like entertaint and make a deal with them, reader just wants no harm comes to the kids and town people's after they give him the equation and when asked abt the stan twins they just don't care
You didnât care what happened to yourself, you really didnât but what you werenât about to do was let Mabel answer dipper become distractions.
You refused. So while Stan and Ford were bickering, again, you whistled sharply, which got the two older men to stop their argument to look over at you.
âHow about instead of using your own flesh and blood and possibly getting them killed due to your negligence and let me to make the deal with bill instead, youâre not the only one who knows the equation Ford so you can drop the hero complex.â You snapped and it silenced the entire Pines Family when they realised you were right.
âAre you sure about-â
âI am very certain Stanford.â You cut Ford off and his face was full of hurt but begrudging acceptance, he knew that once your mind was made up nothing else mattered.
âHey letâs at least-â
âI donât care about what the next words to leave your mouth are Stanley!â You hissed, making him take a step back. âWhat Iâm not about to do is put those two kids in danger like you two, itâs almost like you forget they are kids at the end of the day with parents waiting for them back home.â You reminded the pair as they looked at Dipper and Mabel who were gripping onto you tightly, pleading with you to not make the deal with Bill.
Ford sighed. âFine, if this is what you want to do.â He trails off.
âIt is.â You said with a newfound strength. âSince It seems like Iâm the only one who gives a fuck about Gravity Falls and the people in it.â You added but left Ford and Stan with the twins before they had the urge to further push you on that statement.
When you finally confront Bill, who was obviously waiting for Stanford, you could see him visibly deflate and couldnât help but scoff. âOh come on Bill Iâm not that bad.â
Bill chuckles. âSure you might not be but no offence, I was expecting fordsy, not his assistant- or should I say former assistant.â Your jaw clenched, bill sure knew how to put salt in the wound but still you pressed on, for dipper and Mabel and the weird but lovable townsfolk of Gravity Falls; your true family.
âSorry to disappoint but with that metal plate in his head, thereâs no chance you wouldâve made it even close to the equation.â You fake winced as you saw the annoyance flicker in Billâs one eye. âSorry but Iâm the closest to the next best thing for you.â You add with a shrug, fully accepting what was going to happen to you as you didnât have any one of worth to mourn you nor your memories.
âUgh if I have to since option one was unavailable,â Bill drawled as he held out his hand, not bothering to look at you, âis there any boring thing you want to say now in your final act of heroism fleshbag?â He asks.
âFor you to leave dipper, Mabel and the citizens of Gravity Falls alone, theyâve been through enough as it is.â You tell him, watching as the blue flames flicker and lick at his hand. Bill blinked at you, having where this stereotypical speech one too many times in his long, long, long life, âanything else, or rather anyone else?â
You knew who he was suggesting but all you said in regards to Stan and Ford was; âkill them, torture them, make them into your personally puppets whatever, I honestly donât care.â
Billâs eye widened. âOh now this is interesting! Youâre becoming interesting to me now fleshbag! I havenât heard such venom towards another fellow fleshbag in so long! Deal!â He exclaims as he grabs your hand, cementing the finality of your deal, how naive the dream demon was to not see the trap he had walked into by doing so.

The sky burns in shades of amber and rose as the sun dips toward the horizon, casting a warm, golden light over the world beneath you. The winds tug at your silver-gold hair, whipping it back in wild tangles as you soar high above the lands on the broad wings of Silixia. The she-dragonâs powerful muscles ripple beneath you, every beat of her wings a steady rhythm that reverberates through your entire body. You lean forward, your hands gripping the familiar curve of Silixiaâs neck, feeling the warmth of her scales beneath your gloves.
Beside you, your sister Rhaenyra rides atop Syrax, her golden dragon a flash of lightning against the fading daylight. The two of you are a matched pair, always in tandem, even in flight. The court speaks of your bond with wonder and envyâtwins in blood, daughters of the king, yet so very different. Rhaenyraâs laughter echoes through the air, mingling with the shriek of Syrax, a sound full of reckless joy and the heady thrill of freedom. Your own smile curves across your lips, a rare expression these days, as you push Silixia to fly faster, challenging Rhaenyra in your unspoken competition.
For a moment, youâre not Y/N Targaryen, princess of the realm, but simply a girl with her sister, free of the burdens and expectations that weigh on you daily. Up here, in the skies, you are boundless.
But itâs a fleeting escape, as you both know.
The winds whistle in your ears as you descend toward the Dragonpit, the ancient stone structure looming in the distance. Even from here, you see the specks of the Dragonkeepers, rushing to prepare for your arrival. The world below draws closer with each passing second, and with it, the return to the pressures of the courtâpressures neither you nor Rhaenyra wish to face. You steal a glance at your sister, noticing the tightness around her eyes, the way her jaw clenches as she too begins the descent.
Marriage proposals. The word alone feels like a chain around your neck, heavy and unyielding. Theyâve plagued you both since you were of ageâfoolish lords and ambitious knights seeking to claim your hand, thinking they might wield the power of the Iron Throne through you. Your father, King Viserys, listens to the lordsâ suggestions with increasing frequency, entertaining every potential match, though none ever seem to stick.
Rhaenyra once joked that the king might have betrothed you to half the realm by now if he could make up his mind. The most recent farce was a suggestion of a Blackwood heir, a boy barely out of his swaddling clothes. It had made you laugh, a rare and bitter sound, but the truth was, these discussions grated on you both.
As your dragons land in unison with an earth-shaking thud before the Dragonpit, the ground trembles beneath their weight. Silixia growls low in her throat, molten-gold eyes flashing as she looks toward the Dragonkeepers with wary interest. You run a gloved hand down her brass scales, murmuring soft words of reassurance as she snorts, sending a gust of warm breath that rustles your skirts.
âSometimes I wish we could stay up there forever,â Rhaenyra says, her voice edged with the same melancholy that grips your heart. She dismounts Syrax with fluid grace, her gaze drifting skyward as if she could will the sun to stand still and delay the inevitable return to the Red Keep. You understand her sentiment all too well; in the skies, the concerns of land-bound mortals feel distant, insignificant.
You slide down from Silixiaâs side, boots crunching against the gravel. âAt least up there, no oneâs shoving marriage contracts in our faces,â you reply, your tone carrying more bite than you intend. Silixiaâs tail flicks, brushing against your side in a gesture of comfort, and you smile at her affectionately. âFather may claim heâs thinking of whatâs best for us, but it feels more like heâs trying to sell us off.â
Rhaenyraâs expression darkens, her violet eyes narrowing. âHe doesnât see it that way,â she mutters, her voice laced with frustration. âTo him, itâs our dutyâmarrying to secure alliances, continuing the Targaryen line. But itâs never about us, is it?â
The Dragonkeepers approach cautiously, guiding Silixia and Syrax toward their lairs. The great doors creak open, and the smell of straw, smoke, and dragon flesh fills the air. Silixia reluctantly allows herself to be led, casting one last, longing glance at you before disappearing into the darkness. You feel a pang in your chest as sheâs taken away, though you know sheâll be safe.
âNo, it isnât,â you agree softly, turning to face Rhaenyra as the last rays of the sun cast your shadows long against the stone. âBut Father isnât the only one who decides our fate, Rhaenyra. If we let them all dictate our lives, weâll never have a say in our own stories.â
Rhaenyraâs eyes meet yours, and for a moment, you see the same fire in them that burns within youâa desire to break free, to carve your own path. âWeâll have to make our own way then, wonât we?â she says, a faint smile tugging at her lips. âYou and I, together.â
âTogether,â you echo, determination strengthening your voice. Whatever the realm or the lords conspire, you and Rhaenyra would not be mere pawns. The blood of the dragon flows through your veins, and dragons do not bend to the whims of others.
As the sun passes fully beneath the horizon, the golden light fading into twilight, you know that this brief escape is over. The court awaits, and with it, the endless schemes and proposals, but youâll face them with your sister by your side. And perhaps, if the gods are kind, there might be a way to chart your own destiny, one that doesnât leave you chained by the expectations of others.
With one last glance at the sky, you turn toward the path leading back to the Red Keep, your sister falling into step beside you. The night is full of uncertainties, but as long as you have each other, youâll find a way to burn bright and free.
The council chamber is filled with the low murmur of voices and the sound of parchment being unrolled as the small council convenes. The sun filters through the high windows, casting shadows across the dark wood of the table where the lords of Westeros sit, advising the king. At the head of the table, King Viserys I sits with an air of distracted authority, his mind clearly elsewhere, but nonetheless prepared to endure another round of discussions on the matters of the realm.
Lord Lyonel Strong, seated at his place on the council, finds it difficult to focus. His thoughts are a tangled web, caught between duty to his house and the growing concern for his eldest son, Harwin. For weeks now, Harwinâs unexpected confession has haunted Lyonel. Harwinâs words replay in his mind over and over: âFather, I am in love with her.âÂ
Lyonel had always known Harwin to be a man of quiet strength, with a loyalty that ran as deep as any river, but he had not expected this. It was not the confession of love itself that troubled Lyonelâthough it was a complicated and dangerous emotion where a Targaryen princess was concernedâbut the implications. If word reached the king that Harwin had grown too close to Y/N, it could spell disaster for House Strong, and worse, for the princess herself. The realm would not take kindly to whispers of such intimacy, especially in the shadow of Rhaenyraâs own contentious situation.
He suppresses a sigh as the discussion turns, the lords now speaking of the princess Y/N and her betrothal. Viserysâ brow furrows slightly as Lord Otto Hightower speaks up, his voice as oily and insidious as ever.
âThe matter of Princess Y/Nâs marriage cannot be delayed much longer, Your Grace. The Blackwood heir remains a favorable optionâan ancient and noble house, strong ties in the RiverlandsâŚâ Ottoâs voice trails off as he glances around the table, his eyes sharp and calculating.
Viserys looks tired, the mention of yet another marriage proposal clearly grating on him. âThe Blackwood boy is still a child,â the king mutters, almost to himself. âBarely a year old. I do not see how a match like that benefits Y/N.â
Lyonelâs grip tightens on the arms of his chair. Harwin had been crushed when the proposal first came to light, unable to mask his anger at the idea of Y/N being married off to someone so unsuitable. Lyonel had known better than to comment on it then, but now, as the subject resurfaces, a plan begins to form in his mind. It is a risky maneuver, one that could backfire spectacularly, but it is the only chance he sees to protect both his son and the princess.
The discussion drags on, but Lyonel barely hears it, his thoughts focused on what he will say to the king when the others leave. When the meeting finally concludes, and the lords begin to gather their things, Lyonel remains seated, waiting for the others to clear out. Viserys notices and raises an eyebrow in curiosity.
âLord Lyonel,â Viserys says, his voice expectant. âIt seems you have something on your mind.â
âYour Grace, if I might have a word in private,â Lyonel replies carefully, rising from his chair with a slight bow. Viserys gestures for the guards to leave the chamber, and soon the room is quiet, save for the crackling of the hearth.
âWhat troubles you?â Viserys asks, leaning back in his seat with a weary expression. âIt is rare for you to seek private counsel with me.â
Lyonelâs heart pounds in his chest, but he keeps his face composed, as he has always done. âIt is a matter regarding Princess Y/N, Your Grace. And her marriage.â
Viserys sits up a little straighter, his weariness giving way to curiosity. âGo on.â
âI understand that there has been much discussion of potential matches, including the recent talk of a Blackwood heir. I would not presume to question the wisdom of your council, but I believe there is another path that has not yet been fully consideredâone that could ensure both the stability of the realm and the happiness of your daughter.â
Viserys frowns slightly, his eyes narrowing. âAnd what match might that be, Lord Lyonel?â
Lyonel chooses his words with the utmost care. âMy son, Ser Harwin, has always been loyal to the crown, a man of proven strength and honor. I believe he could be a fitting match for Princess Y/N.â
Viserysâ surprise is evident in the way his eyebrows shoot up. âHarwin Strong?â The kingâs tone is one of genuine shock. âI had not considered such a proposal from you, Lyonel. Youâve never once sought advancement for your house in this manner. Why now?â
Lyonel forces himself to hold the kingâs gaze. âBecause I believe this match would benefit not only my house but your daughter as well. Harwinâs affection for her is sincere, Your Grace. He would be devoted to her in both heart and duty. And the crown would gain a staunch ally in the Riverlands through House Strong.â
Viserys leans back in his chair, his eyes distant as he considers the proposal. âIt is unexpected,â he admits. âBut sincere affection, as you say, is not often found in such matters. Still, I must consider the optics. The princess⌠she is a Targaryen, and such a match would raise eyebrows. Harwin is a good man, but he does not hold the power or prestige of some of the other houses being proposed.â
Lyonel nods, expecting this reaction. âTrue, Your Grace. But there is strength in loyalty and love. Harwin would never see the princess used or diminished by court politics. He would protect her fiercely, as he has always protected those he cares for. Surely, a match built on genuine regard would lead to a more harmonious union than one based solely on titles.â
Viserys remains silent for a long moment, his fingers drumming on the table as he contemplates the idea. âYou make a compelling case, Lyonel,â he says at last, his tone softer now, as if genuinely pondering the possibility. âBut this is not a decision I will take lightly. I will consider it, but there are other matters to weigh as well.â
Lyonel bows his head in acknowledgment, sensing that he has planted the seed he needed to. âOf course, Your Grace. I only ask that you weigh it with care. The princessâs happinessâand the stability of the realmâmust be our highest priority.â
Viserys nods, though his expression remains conflicted. âYou are dismissed, Lyonel. I will think on what youâve said.â
As Lyonel takes his leave, he feels the weight of uncertainty pressing down on him. He knows he has taken a bold risk, one that could either secure a brighter future for his son and the princessâor doom them both if it fails. But for now, all he can do is wait and hope that Viserysâs heart leans toward the idea of love and loyalty over ambition and politics.
The door closes softly behind him, and the chamber is left in silence, with only the faint crackle of the fire echoing in the room.
The streets of Kingâs Landing are alive with the usual noise and bustle of the city as dusk settles over the capital. The gold cloaks of the City Watch patrol every corner, their eyes sharp for trouble. Ser Harwin Strong rides at the head of a small detachment, his gaze roving over the streets with practiced vigilance. His armor gleams in the fading light, and his presence alone is enough to command respect from the men under his command.Â
Yet, beneath the exterior of duty, Harwinâs thoughts are elsewhere. He cannot shake the weight of his fatherâs concerns, the quiet warnings Lyonel had shared after Harwinâs confession. There are dangers in being so close to the princess, but the heart is a stubborn thing, and his heart belongs wholly to Y/N. Her laughter, her fierce spirit, the fire in her violet eyesâthey haunt him in moments when he should be focused.Â
As his patrol rounds the corner near the Dragonpit, his attention sharpens when he sees a group approaching. The distinctive white cloaks of the Kingsguard stand out against the shadowy backdrop of the city. Harwin immediately recognizes the figures being escortedâPrincess Rhaenyra and her twin sister, Y/N, mounted on fine steeds and surrounded by the armored knights sworn to protect them. The sight of Y/N sends a jolt through him, a mix of yearning and concern.Â
Their eyes meet, and in that brief moment, a silent understanding passes between them. Thereâs no need for words; they know each other too well. Y/N gives the faintest nod, and Harwin feels his pulse quicken. Whatever it is sheâs planning, heâs already committed to playing his part.Â
Suddenly, Y/N sways in her saddle, her hand fluttering to her forehead as if struck by a sudden dizziness. The Kingsguard immediately take notice, and Ser Harrold Westerling, ever vigilant, urges his horse closer. âPrincess, are you unwell?â he asks, his voice laced with concern.Â
Y/Nâs voice is faint, but convincing. âI feel⌠light-headed. Perhaps the strain of the flight has caught up with me.â She sways again for emphasis, and Harwin spurs his horse forward, concern etched into his features.Â
âSer Harrold, allow me to assist the princess,â Harwin says, his tone urgent yet respectful. He moves his horse beside Y/Nâs, ready to catch her should she falter further. âIâll take her to the Red Keep myself, where she can be seen to immediately.â
Ser Harroldâs eyes narrow, suspicion flickering in their depths. âThat will not be necessary, Ser Harwin. The princess will be escorted by me and my men directly to the Keep. We are under strict orders from the king.â
Harwinâs jaw tightens, but he keeps his expression neutral. âI understand, Ser Harrold, but Iâve known the princess since she was a child. Let me ensure her safety, as I would see to my own kin. I can bring her swiftly and with care.â
Before Ser Harrold can respond, Rhaenyra rides forward, her eyes gleaming with barely concealed mischief as she catches on to her sisterâs ploy. âSer Harrold, it is clear that Y/N is in distress, and she would be more comfortable with someone familiar. Ser Harwin has always been a trusted protector of our family.â She tilts her head slightly, letting a hint of command slip into her tone. âSurely, you would not deny my sister the comfort she needs when it is readily available?â
Ser Harrold glances between the two princesses, clearly torn. On one hand, his duty is unwavering; on the other, Rhaenyraâs argument is persuasive, and thereâs little cause to suspect foul play. He knows better than to openly contradict a royal daughter, especially one as willful as Rhaenyra. After a long, tense moment, he relents, though his reluctance is obvious.
âVery well, Ser Harwin,â Ser Harrold says, his voice tinged with resignation. âBut know that Iâll hold you to your word that the princess reaches the Keep unharmed and without delay. The king will hear of this if she does not.â
âOn my honor,â Harwin replies, dipping his head with a solemn expression, though a flicker of relief and triumph gleams in his eyes.Â
With that, Rhaenyra flashes a sly grin at her sister and spurs her horse onward, leaving Y/N and Harwin behind. âIâll see you at the Keep, sister,â she says, her voice lilting with amusement. âDo take care on your way.â She gives Ser Harrold and the other Kingsguard a pointed look, leading them on toward the Keep as they follow her.
Once theyâre out of earshot, Y/N lets out a small breath of relief, her feigned dizziness evaporating as she steadies herself in the saddle. Harwin watches her closely, a hint of admiration in his gaze.
âQuite the performance,â he murmurs, guiding his horse closer to hers as they begin to ride slowly, side by side, through the quieter streets. âI almost believed you were truly unwell.â
Y/Nâs lips curve into a playful smile. âI thought it convincing enough. Itâs not every day a princess needs rescuing, after all.â But the teasing lilt in her voice is softened by the warmth in her eyes as she meets his gaze. âThank you for playing along, Harwin.â
âFor you? Always,â Harwin replies, his voice low and sincere. He reaches out, his fingers briefly brushing against hers in a gesture that is both subtle and intimate, hidden from prying eyes in the fading light. âBut tell me, what is it you needed from me that required such theatrics?â
Y/Nâs expression turns more serious as she considers her words. âI needed a moment away from all the expectations, away from the endless talks of marriage and duty. And more importantly⌠I needed a moment with you.â The weight of her admission hangs between them, unspoken but understood.
Harwinâs breath hitches slightly, his heart tightening at her words. He has always known this dance between them is a dangerous one, but it is one he cannot resist. âEvery time I see you surrounded by those guards, by the chains of duty that bind you, it makes me wish things were different,â he says softly, his voice full of yearning. âI wish I could be more than just a protector.â
Y/N turns in her saddle, her gaze locking onto his. âYou are more, Harwin. You know you are.â
For a moment, the world shrinks to just the two of themâthe city, the court, all of it fades away. But reality cannot be ignored forever, and the path to the Red Keep looms ahead. They both know this brief interlude is all they can afford, but the unspoken promises between them are enough for now.
As they approach the gates, Harwin reluctantly pulls his hand away and straightens in his saddle, resuming the role of dutiful knight. âIâll see you safely back to your chambers, Princess,â he says formally, though the glint in his eyes tells her everything he cannot say aloud.
âUntil the next escape, Ser Harwin,â she replies with a soft smile, a hidden message beneath the words.Â
With that, they continue toward the Keep, knowing that while their paths may be dictated by duty and expectation, there are still moments they can carve out for themselvesâstolen glances, hidden touches, and unspoken vows that bind them closer than any formal oath could.
The vast halls of the Red Keep are quieter than usual as the day gives way to the cool embrace of evening. The golden light from the torches flickers on the stone walls, casting long shadows that dance and twist in the dim corridors. As Harwin escorts you back to your chambers, you can feel the weight of the day slowly lifting, replaced by the familiar tension that simmers between you and him. Itâs a tension that has grown with each stolen glance, each brief touch hidden from prying eyes.
As you approach the throne room, Ser Harrold Westerling stands at the entrance, his white cloak billowing slightly as he catches sight of you. His eyes shift briefly to Harwin, a silent acknowledgment in his expression. Though his face remains stern, thereâs a flicker of understandingâa silent nod that tells Harwin he has done his duty and that the princess has been safely returned.Â
âSer Harwin,â Harrold says in a gruff voice as the two pass by him. He doesnât need to say more. The message is clear: this is where their paths diverge, but heâll trust Harwin to see the princess the rest of the way. Harwin dips his head respectfully in return, but his focus remains on you as you make your way deeper into the Keep.
The royal quarters are just ahead, but Harwin notices something in your expressionâa spark in your eyes and the faintest curve of a smile on your lips. He knows that look all too well, the one that signals youâre about to do something reckless, something entirely unplanned. Before he can even ask what youâre plotting, you move with a sudden swiftness, grabbing his hand and pulling him toward a shadowed alcove. Your fingers grip his with a sense of urgency and mischief.
âY/N, whatâ he starts, but you silence him with a playful look, your eyes gleaming with a secretive promise.Â
You drag him behind a heavy tapestry, revealing a hidden doorway that he hadnât noticed before. The stone creaks as you push it open, leading into a small, dimly lit chamber tucked away from the prying eyes of the court. The air inside is thick with dust, as if it hasnât been disturbed in years. Harwinâs breath catches in his throat as he realizes where youâve brought himâa place so private that it feels as if it belongs only to the two of you.
The moment the door closes behind you, the pretense falls away, leaving only the truth of your feelings. The tension that has been building throughout the day snaps, and you close the distance between you in an instant. Your lips crash against his, the kiss fierce and full of the passion that you both have been forced to suppress. Harwin responds without hesitation, his hands finding your waist, pulling you closer until there is nothing between you but the heat of your bodies.Â
Itâs a dance you both know well by nowâhis lips mapping the familiar curve of your neck, your fingers tangling in his hair, tugging as his kisses trail down to your collarbone. Thereâs a hunger in his touch, tempered by a tenderness that only you bring out in him. His hand cups your cheek, his thumb brushing against your skin as he kisses you again, slower this time, savoring every second. You press closer, your hands slipping beneath the leather of his armor, finding the hard planes of his chest beneath. The feel of his heartbeat, strong and steady, thrums beneath your palm, grounding you in this moment.
âEvery time I think of you marrying another,â Harwin murmurs against your lips, his voice a low, desperate whisper, âit drives me mad. The thought of losing you⌠I donât know how Iâd bear it.â
You pull back just enough to meet his gaze, your eyes searching his as you trace a line down the side of his face. âYou wonât lose me,â you breathe, your words laced with quiet determination. âNot now. Not ever. I belong to no one but myselfâand to you, if the gods are kind.â
Harwinâs grip tightens on your waist, a flash of fierce emotion in his eyes. âI want more than stolen moments, more than secret chambers and whispers in the dark,â he confesses, his voice thick with longing. âI want to be with you openly, without fear or restraint.â
âI want that too,â you reply, your voice trembling with sincerity. âBut until then, until we find a way⌠we have this.â Your hand trails down to his chest, your fingers pressing against the rhythm of his heartbeat, as if to mark it as your own.
His lips find yours again, softer this time, a kiss that speaks of unspoken vows and promises that only the two of you understand. His hand slides down your back, memorizing every curve, every dip, as if committing it to memory for the nights when you canât be together. Your own touch mirrors his, tracing the line of his jaw, the strength in his shoulders, and the warmth that radiates from his skin. Every touch, every kiss is laced with the knowledge that this cannot lastâat least not now.Â
As much as it pains you both, thereâs no time to linger. The world beyond this hidden chamber is waiting, and you both know that others will soon seek you out. Harwin pulls back slightly, his forehead resting against yours, both of you catching your breath, hearts racing as you savor the closeness one last time.
âI wish we could stay here forever,â you whisper, your fingers brushing against his lips.
âSo do I,â Harwin murmurs, pressing a lingering kiss to your brow. âBut weâll find more moments like this. I promise you.â
You smile softly, the sadness in your eyes giving way to a glimmer of hope. âUntil then⌠weâll make the most of what we have.â
Reluctantly, you both disentangle, fixing your clothes and smoothing out your appearances to mask any signs of your secret rendezvous. Harwinâs hand lingers on yours as you step back into the corridor, the hidden door sliding closed behind you. The tapestry falls back into place, and itâs as if nothing ever happenedâjust another cold stone wall in the labyrinth of the Red Keep.
But as you make your way back to your chambers, Harwinâs gaze remains fixed on you, his eyes holding yours for a heartbeat longer. Thereâs a silent agreement between you, one that needs no wordsâthis isnât the end, just another chapter in a story thatâs far from over.
With one last glance over your shoulder, you offer him a small, secret smileâthe same one you gave him earlier, full of the promise of more unpredictable escapes, more stolen kisses, and the hope that one day, these moments wonât have to be stolen at all. Harwin watches you disappear into the shadows of the royal quarters, the ache in his chest both a comfort and a torment as he turns away, returning to his duties, but with the warmth of your touch still lingering on his skin.

I MISS YOU MORE THAN ANYTHING
Pairings(separate): Satoru x reader, Suguru x reader, Kento x reader, Toji x reader, Choso x reader Summary: You had a bad accident that gave you amnesia, and you no longer remember him, and he just can't seem to move on Word Count: 4.1k CW: a LOT of angst, hurt no comfort :( A/N: I'd rather jump into a volcano than make choso cry tbh
GOJO SATORU
Satoru was someone who never bothered with dating. After all, he was such a busy man, he didn't really have time to even think about all that, yet he somehow managed to find time for you. The two of you were damn near inseparable, twin flames if you will.
You were a talented sorcerer, a grade 1 and always improving. He always took so much pride in your growth and how you strived to continue to get stronger alongside him. You two used to spend as much time together as possible, but now he's grateful if you even respond to one of his texts.
About a year ago, you two were on a mission, and a curse user caught you off guard, getting you bad with an attack. You had suffered some pretty intense injuries, it was a miracle you were even still alive. However, your injuries came with a permanent scar, amnesia.
Your memories were completely shot, either in bits and pieces, or just completely gone from your head altogether. Unfortunately for him, he was completely wiped from your brain. Even worse? Your attitude towards him took a complete 180. The fire of once being his twin flame now completely put out with zero chance of it being relit. He wasn't sure if you not remembering various events of your life altered your personality and the way you thought, but you practically hated him now.
Any time he tries to speak to you, he's met with glares, eye rolls, and half assed responses. It didn't stop him from talking to you, though. He would rather you be rude to him than never talk to him again.
Satoru is a man who never spoke on how things affected him or how they made him feel. No one knew how he reread your old text messages over and over again, or how he cries sometimes over the loss of you. No one knew how he lost countless hours of sleep just looking over your vids and pics that you two had taken when you were still together.
No one knew how he was dying on the inside.
âYou gonna stay up here moping all day, or try talking to them?â He was suddenly snapped out of his thoughts as Shoko came to stand beside him.
He had been in his usual spot watching you from above as you trained with the students. He had been lost in thought, fantasizing about how the training wouldâve been going if things were as they used to be.Â
âNah, I already bothered them today. Maybe I will later though.â He responded with his usual grin, but she saw right through his facade.
They stood there in silence, just watching, the faint sound of laughter filling the air. To Satoru, it almost felt like the universe was laughing at him. First he loses his one and only best friend, and now he's being forced to lose his one true love. Love really is the worst curse of them all, huh?
âYou can talk to me, you know,â Shoko finally spoke after a few moments, not wanting to see her friend suffering alone. âIt's fine, there's nothing to talk about anyways.â
âBut there is Satoru. You might think you have everyone fooled and thinking that youâre unbothered by what happened, but not me. You don't.. have to go through all this alone.â
He mulled over her words for a few moments before shrugging slightly, deciding to be somewhat honest. âI guess I just.. don't find any point in talking about it. They don't love me anymore, and that's that. All I can do is accept it and go forward. If I push too much, they'll end up hating me more than they already do.â
He didn't want to accept it, though. God what heâd give to have you by his side once again. There aren't any lengths he wouldn't go to just to have you remember him. To call him Toru again. To love him again.
âWell that's surprisingly mature of you.â she teased with a sympathetic smile, causing him to pout. âHeyyy! I can be mature!â
She laughed at his whine, then smiled softly as she rubbed his back. âJust know we're all worried about you, okay? If you ever need anything, Iâm a text away.â
He nodded with a smile, not bothering to say anything as he watched her leave. His smile slowly faded once she was out of sight, his attention being on you once again. He brought a finger up to pull his blindfold down around his neck as he watched you, letting out a shaky sigh.
âI really do miss you, sweetheart.â
GETO SUGURU
You were out and about with your friends, having a good day out in the nice weather. You had since recovered from the accident you were in, the same accident that gave you a nasty case of amnesia. You had lost a decent portion of your memories. Fortunately, you remembered most of your friends and theyâve all bee a great help in helping you readjust.
âSo uh.. howâs it been between you and Suguru?â One of them asks out of the blue. Suguru, your boyfriend before your accident 6ish months ago who was no longer playing that role in your life. âI mean, thereâs nothing really going on, we talk sometimes if thatâs what youâre askingâ
âWell I was just wondering because heâs kind of sort of..â Your friend trailed off, motioning discreetly in a direction to which your eyes followed. Your eyes made contact with his as you found him to be leaning against a wall not far from where you and your friends are, a frown instantly gracing your lips. âGive me a moment."
You got up, incredibly upset as you made your way over him. You had felt a lot of sympathy towards him given the circumstances. You couldnât even imagine what it would be like for your lover to suddenly no longer remember you. So, you agreed to try and make a relationship work, but after a few months, you found you just aren't into him anymore. No matter what you did, you just couldn't find that love for him again. So, you broke it off and offered to just be friends, not for him to borderline stalk you.
âWhat the fuck Suguru? Why are you here?â You ask, since this isnât exactly the first time heâs appeared ârandomlyâ where you happen to be. âI just happened to be in the area.â
âBullshit. Thatâs your excuse every time I catch you lurking. I know I said we could be friends, but this is the opposite of how friends should act.â
Suguru frowned at your words. He hated when you referred to him as just some friend. He didnât want to be your friend, he wanted his title as your boyfriend back. Yes he agreed to being friends, but that was only so he could continue to try and recapture your heart.
âWell apologies Y/N, I actually was in the area I just.. was curious about what you were up to and followed for a bit.â
âDo you not realize how weird that is? What if Iâm on a date, then what?â His frown deepened at your response. âYouâre already going on dates?â
âOh my god I canât keep having the same conversation with you.â
Time and time again, he would insert himself into your personal affairs as if he was still your boyfriend. Heâd get pushy for answers, needing to know what youâre doing. He just misses when youâd give him those silly little updates on whatâs going on throughout your day. All of your selfies, your audio messages. God he misses it all. He didnât mean to act like a creep, but he couldnât help himself.
âWhat I do in MY dating life is MY business. We are not a thing anymore Suguru, get that through your head.â
âHow do you expect me to do that, huh? How do you expect me to be okay with watching you go out with some other dude, to let him know you like I knew you. For him to attempt to love you the way I loved you. Youâre being unfair, no?"
âHonestly I'm being really fair. I have done nothing but try to make things work because you seemed like genuinely a nice guy. Unfortunately, it didnât play out how we hoped it would. I set my boundaries in us just being friends and youâre the one continuing to push my boundaries again and again. So no Suguru, youâre the one being unfair.â
You were right, and he knew that, but he just canât go on without you, and doing this almost made him feel apart.
âLook Suguru, because Iâm so generous, Iâll give you one last fucking chance. Push my boundaries again and Iâm blocking you. Got it?â You asked, to which he nodded. âGot it.â
He watched you return to your friends, hands in his pockets as he left. He had no intentions of stopping, he just was going to be smarter and sneakier about things. Youâll love him again one day, he has to keep believing that for the sake of his sanity. He just has to.
NANAMI KENTO
Your feet dragged against the carpeted floor as you made your way down the hallway to Kentoâs apartment. It felt like it went on forever as the feeling of dread bubbled up in your chest at what you were about to do.
Bringing your hand up, you gently knock a few times, anxiously awaiting for him to open the door.
âAh, Y/N, I didnât expect to see you. Itâs a pleasant surprise, I was actually in the midst of cooking if youâd like to come in.â Kentoâs face was kind, eyes almost pleading for you to accept his offer. He missed you in ways you could never even begin to imagine, which is why it was making it so hard for you to go through with this.
âThank you, but that's okay. I just um.. I came to return this to you.â You held out your hand, your engagement ring resting in your palm.
Kento felt his mouth run dry.
âWhat? Why.. why are you..â He tried to find the words to speak, his mind unable to comprehend what you're doing, thoughts going a mile a minute.
âI'm sorry Nanami, I really really am. Iâve been trying to find those feelings again, to feel what I felt before the accident, to remember you. I just.. itâs been months now and I just can't go on with this engagement, because at this rate I donât know if Iâll ever feel that love for you again. Iâm.. I'm sorry.â
You truly felt remorseful, he seemed like such a wonderful man, you can understand why you fell for him in the first place. But for some reason, you just weren't in love with him anymore. The love you once felt for him was long gone.
Ever since your accident, the two of you tried everything to get you to remember. Hell, heâd be fine with you falling in love with him all over again. He doesn't care, just as long as you two are together.Â
Youâre the love of his life, youâre the oxygen he breathes. Irreplaceable. No one could ever compare to you in his eyes, he just can't live without you. Your wedding was supposed to be in a few months, and what was supposed to be the happiest day of his life was slowly slipping through his fingers, and there was nothing he could do about it.
âNo, no no, wait please Y/N. Can't we just try a little longer? I don't mean to be pushy but I feel like we were really getting somewhere andââ Please don't do this. âBut we weren't, I was just forcing it because I didn't want to hurt youââ
âI just don't understand why we can't keep trying, we had so many plans together Y/N. Marriage, kids, a house in Malaysia.â
âAnd that sounds lovely but Nanamiââ
âStop calling me that.â The air around you two fell awkwardly silent. âCall me Ken.. please.. like you always have.â His voice was broken, defeated. He's dealt with so much loss in his life, he couldn't bear to lose you too.
His days have become so devoid of the color you once brought to his life. Before you, he was simply going through the motions of life because that's what he had to do. Now that heâs had you, he doesn't know what to do with himself anymore. He doesnât want to go back to how it was before you.
âIâm sorry I just..â He sighed, a hand coming up to rub his face. He didn't mean to make you uncomfortable, he really didn't, but god he was so desperate to try and get you to change your mind. âYouâre everything to me. Without you I just.. I'm a shell of a man. Things aren't the same without you by my side. Please can't we just keep trying for a little longer? We could have a breakthrough.â
You listened to his ramble, but you weren't budging. You didn't think it was healthy for him to keep holding onto something that just was no longer written in the stars.
âI can't anymore Kento, I donât.. I don't want to do this anymore, I'm sorry. I think continuing to try is a lost cause, and only it's filling you with false hope.â He remained silent at your words, nodding in reluctant acceptance, knowing pushing the envelope wouldn't end in his favor.
âAlright.. may I request one last thing from you, before you go?â He asks, fighting back his tears and emotions. âPlease, stay for dinner. Cooking for you was something that always bought me joy and.. I'd like to at least sit and eat with you one last time.â
You thought for a few moments before nodding, it was the least you could do. You'd give him this one last thing before you leave for good.Â
Originally, Kento wasn't going to go back to sorcerer work, since he didn't want to risk his life and leave you alone, but after you had left and he thought it over again, he decided he would accept Gojoâs request for his assistance.
He had decided on his plan. Once this final mission in Shibuya is all said and done, he'd leave for Malaysia, and maybe, just maybe finally have a better life for himself there.
What could possibly go wrong?
FUSHIGURO TOJI
Love was something Toji never thought he'd ever try again. He had no interest in commitment in the slightest. If it wasn't just a quick fuck or a dynamic that benefitted him in some way, he truly just couldnât give a damn.
That was, until you appeared in his life.Â
What started out as just a friends with benefits type relationship, it slowly morphed into the both of you desiring more from each other.
You both understood each other. You were both from tragic backgrounds and dark pasts, and you two accepted good with the bad from one another. You two were so happy and in love.
Until the accident.
You were a curse user like him, and went on missions the same way he did. However, one really bad impact to the head had you in the hospital for a good few months. You were in a coma, and everyday he prayed that you would wake up. Although, now he kind of wishes that you did.
When you had awoken, you had lost various memories, including him. You didn't remember meeting him, all the moments you two shared, when he finally started telling you he loved you, none of it. And it killed him, not that heâd ever say it aloud.
When he told you how he was your boyfriend, while yes you found him to be very attractive, you just didn't feel the same about him anymore. You were always a closed off guarded individual due to your trauma. Yet for some reason back then, you allowed him into your heart. This time, however, you had zero interest in that.
Toji felt so many things. He was angry, confused, and heartbroken. How could you not remember all the times you two shared? Why did you not even want to try? Why didn't you care?
All the self improvement you helped him with all went down the drain. He just didn't care about anything or anyone anymore. Losing his first wife was hard, it destroyed him. Now he's losing you, except you're not even actually gone. You're right there, before his eyes, and has to watch you continue to live your life without him.Â
âShiu! That stupid mission was aâ oh, um, hi Toji.â You awkwardly greeted him as you entered the office, not expecting to see him during your visit to Shiu. The tension in the room grew thick as Shiu cleared his throat. âI'm uh, gonna go smoke this. I'll be right back.â That bastard.
An awkward silence hung in the air before Toji decided to break it. âSo, you seeinâ anyone?
âI don't really think that'sââ
âIt's just a harmless question, doll.â His tone is borderline condescending, you let it slide though. âI was, not anymore though.â
Toji bit back a laugh at that. He liked to believe that deep down in your subconscious, you needed him just the way you always have, and that youâd never find another person whoâd make you feel as he did.
âYeah? And why's that?â He pressed, wanting any indication that his theory had any basis in reality. âWhy does even that matter? Itâs none of your business.â
You shot him down. Any time you two bumped into each other, he always pulled this. He'd get far too nosy about your dating life and you were tired of it. You understand that you two were in love before and that it's hard for him, but he needed to let it go. You werenât interested and that was that.
âYa know, if you ever wantââ
âNo.â
Toji frowned, irritation bubbling his chest from your immediate rejection. âI wasn't looking for a relationship doll, just a good fuck. You really think I wanna be bothered with you again? I barely wanted to even when we were together.â He spoke harshly, none of his words even being true.
He hated himself for the way he was treating you, but he just couldn't stop himself. Hurt people hurt people, after all.
âJust tell Shiu to call me. I'm leaving.â Before he could say anything, you were already out the door, refusing to take his attitude any longer.
Whatever, he was fine before without you anyway. He'll continue to tell himself that doesn't need you until he finally tricks his mind into believing it's true.
CHOSO
Loud knocks at your door awoke you from your sleep, having fallen asleep by mistake on the couch. Rubbing the sleep from your eyes, you reached for your phone to check the time.Â
Nearly 2AM.
âY/N?? A-Are you in there? Please I-I just wanna talk.â A once all too familiar voice sounded from the other side of the door, and you knew it was him.Â
Choso, the man who apparently was your boyfriend before your accident.
A sigh left your lips, you already knew what this was about. You had blocked him on everything because you believed this would be beneficial to him. You felt this would help him move on, because that's simply what he was going to have to do. Yet he just wouldn't.
You reluctantly made your way to the door, taking a deep breath before opening it. He looked like a mess. His eyes were bloodshot, red and puffy from what you could only assume was from hours of crying. His stripe on his nose was dripping, as if his emotions were pouring from it. He truly looked pitiful.
âChoso..â You felt awful, you really did. You didn't mean to cause this man so much pain and turmoil, but you weren't going to fake being in love with him. That wouldn't make the situation any better.
âW-Why? Y-Youâ you blocked me? Why?â He stuttered out, once dried tears slowly beginning to wet his face once again as he started to cry, his breaths coming out shaky and broken.
You let him inside, worried about him having an anxiety attack and nosy neighbors being in your business.
âChoso I'm really going to need you to breatheââ The second the door is shut, heâs pulling you in for a tight hug, his body shaking as small cries leave him. âChosoââ
âI-Iâm sorry, I-Iâm sorry. I just need t-to touch youâ You suppose you could give him this. âOkay but you're squeezing me too tight, you're going to hurt me if you don't loosen up.â
You two stood like that for a few moments. You offered comfort to the best of your ability, rubbing his back soothingly. You knew you needed to calm him down as much as possible for the news you were going to break to him.Â
âI think.. we should sit and talk.â Your soft voice broke the silence. You gently removed yourself from his tight hold, guiding him to sit on the couch.
âI.. blocked you because I felt itâs for the bestâ You turned your head away from him, the sad puppy dog look in his eyes making you feel far too guilty. âI know before my accident we were together and in love but.. I need you to understand that I no longer feel that way. I don't remember you anymoreââ
âB-But that doesn't mean you c-canât remember one day, right? R-Right??â That was something you didn't have an answer for.
âI donâtââ
âB-But you remember everyone else, w-why not me? Why don't you r-remember me?â He begged for an answer, shaky hands coming to hold yours, squeezing them tight. âT-There has to be s-something we can do right? Maybe Shoko could d-do something, anything. We just need toââ
âChoso, please just stop.â You felt a pang in your heart as his shoulders slumped, but you had to throw the cold water in his face. âThere is nothing that can be done. I'm sorry, I am. I wish for your sake that I could wake up with all my memories of you back but I just can't. I'm just.. not interested in you in that way anymore.â You slowly pulled your hands from his, resting yours in your lap as you continued. This really sucked.Â
âI thought maybe we could be friends, and over time either my memories would return or I'd develop feelings for you again but.. I just don't feel that way towards you. And you're so.. clingy. The way you are is unhealthy Choso. You have to move on.â
His eyes went wide at your words, his world shattering before him as he rapidly shook his head. âNo. No no no I-I don't want to do that. I can't do that p-please.â
âYou're going to have to. I know I was your first love, but I promise you'll find someone else who willââ
âI-I don't want anyone else I-I want you. I donât want to e-ever even think about m-my life without you p-please, Iâll do a-anything Y/N please.â
He was becoming hysterical again and you're far too exhausted to be able to properly calm him down. Besides, he'd just do what he's been doing for the last two months. He'll cry and cry until you feel guilty enough to change your mind. Not this time.Â
âI'm sorry Choso, but I need you to leave. Itâs overâ You stood up from the couch, wanting to be done with this conversation. Giving him the cold shoulder was something you didn't necessarily want to do, but he was leaving you with no choice at this point.
As you approached your door to let him out, you heard a thud from behind you followed by a hand grasping your ankle to prevent you from going any further. The sight before you as turned your head to look only worsened how you felt.Â
He was on his knees, his head down, grasping your ankle in a final desperate plea. âP-Please⌠d-donât do this to me..âÂ
It was your turn for your shoulders to slump, but your mind was already made as you whispered âPlease, don't make me call Yuji..â
You felt his grip loosen at your words, before completely releasing your ankle. He slowly rose to his feet, his eyes trained on the floor, knowing if he looks at you, heâll completely crumble and he wouldnât be able to leave. He doesnât say another word as he leaves, knowing thereâs nothing he could say that would change your mind.
âGoodbye.. Choso.â You said for the last time before closing the door.

______________________________________________
Yoongiâs patience with you seemed to always be never ending. Nothing that you did ever seemed to cross the line, and when it did, you knew.
Well, today was one of those days.
Yoongi had been in Paris for work for a few days, and with the time difference, you got bored at night and stayed up late, sending him pictures and videos of yourself. They started off with sending him cute outfits that you bought, and then lingerie. However, he stopped responding when you sent him a video of yourself in the bathtub, making you wonder if you might have taken things a little too far. You didnât want to interrupt him if he was dealing with important business.
Feeling kind of panicky and unsure what Yoongi was thinking, you eventually went to bed, hoping he would somehow not see it, or completely forget about it.
In the morning, you woke up to a text from Yoongi.
Yoongi: You like teasing me like that donât you, distracting me from work?
You knew he wasnât actually mad, he probably did enjoy what you were sending him, but maybe it was a bad time.
You thought for a second, and sent a quick text back to him.
You: Just thinking about you, baby.
Hoping that smoothed things over, you went on with your day. Since the time difference, you werenât expecting to hear from Yoongi until later on in the night.
Later on, when you were winding down for the night, changing into your pajamas, your boss at work called a zoom meeting, discussing some business endeavors.
Since you were very much not modest â your pajamas were a pair of underwear and a big t shirt, your camera was turned off so no one could see you.
The meeting felt like it was going on for forever, you had one of your AirPods in even though sometimes you felt like you probably werenât even paying attention. The good thing was is that you probably didnât have to talk.
You pulled your knees in towards your chest in your chair at your desk, taking a drink from your glass that was next to your computer mouse. Suddenly, you heard a knock, but brushed it off as one of your coworkers making noise. You didnât look away from your computer screen.
A few seconds later, there was another knock that was slightly louder than before; making you realize it was in the room and not coming from the computer. You looked around the room and was almost in disbelief when you saw Yoongi leaning against the doorway, one of his hands in his pocket of his tan colored suit.
âYoongi?â You questioned him quickly. âI thought you wouldnât be home until tomorrow.â
Yoongi stepped towards you. âMy manager told me there was an earlier flight, so I left right after my event; hence why Iâm so dressed up.â
âYeah, you look so sexy.â You complimented him as he walked behind you. âWhat made you decide to leave early?â
That was a stupid question.
âOh did someone suddenly forget what she did to me?â Yoongiâs large hands were on your shoulders.
You were silent, looking at your computer.
âHey sweetheart. That was a question.â Yoongi leaned down, his low voice in your ear.
âI forgot about it.â You responded, reaching to rest one of your hands onto his.
âIâm not mad. You can send me whatever you want; you know that.â Yoongi brushed a piece of hair away from his face. âBut to send me a video of you in the bathtub, while Iâm sitting at a meeting? I had to cover my lap like Iâm a goddamn teenager.â
You smirked to yourself at his reaction, not realizing he wasnât done talking.
âNow Iâm in the mood to edge you until you cry. Make you learn your lesson.â
You bit down on your bottom lip. Fuck. You knew Yoongi meant it when he said things like that.
âYoongi, I â" You started to speak, but you were cut off.
âHey, looks like someone has a meeting to listen to, right?â You wondered how long he was standing there earlier as he planted a few kisses along your neck, making you close your eyes. He was for sure pushing your buttons as you hummed in response.
âHow was Paris?â You tried to distract your mind, at this point you werenât even paying attention to your meeting.
âIt was nice. I think youâd like it. Next time you should go with me.â One of his hands was now on your inner thigh, and you knew for sure that you were probably soaking your panties.
âI think ââ Your words were cut off when Yoongiâs fingers brushed against your clothed clit, making you swallow hard.
He moved one of your legs to rest on top of the desk, giving himself full view of your panties that were in fact soaked.
âAlready worked up for me?â It was a stupid question to ask; you always were.
âYoongi.â You spoke, a neediness in your voice.
He moved your chair back, somewhat startling you. Then he was hovering over you; his face close to yours. He gave you a quick kiss, making your heart flutter.
He slipped his fingers underneath the waistband of your panties. âLift your hips.â Yoongi suddenly spoke, and you did.
Yoongi pulled down your panties, swearing to himself when he saw how wet you were. Stuffing them in his suit pocket, he turned your chair and got on his knees in front of you.
âFuck.â Yoongi muttered to himself, putting his hands on your thighs. You felt like you were holding your breath. Trying to focus on your computer screen, but also trying to brace yourself for Yoongiâs tongue or fingers.
Yoongi barely touched your clit with his thumb; making you jump. He pressed harder, moving in slow circles.
You let out a sigh, practically feeling your arousal dripping out of you at this point. Yoongi paused for a second, pulling your hips towards himself so that you were sort of laying back in your chair; and more comfortable. Just as you looked away from Yoongi, you felt him push his middle and ring finger inside of you, pressing against your front wall hard.
You cried out his name, leaning your head back.
âYouâre so fucking wet.â Yoongi grunted. âFuck.â He was right, you could hear the squelching noises from his fingers going in and out of you.
Yoongi didnât say anything before leaning down and sucking your clit into his mouth; forming a rhythm with the way his fingers were moving in and out of you.
Your body shuddered when his fingers brushed against your sweet spot; and you knew you werenât going to last long if he kept going like this.
One of your hands was in his long, dark hair; trying to hold him there. You could feel yourself getting close, hanging on the edge of your orgasm.
Until suddenly, Yoongi stopped.
âYoongi!â You were so frustrated, panting. âWhat the fuck?â
âBaby.â Yoongi spoke lowly, kissing your inner thigh. âDid I say that you could cum?â
âNo.â You sighed, looking towards your computer screen.
âBe good for me.â Yoongi glanced up at you, giving you a look that gave you chills and reminded you that you were practically naked in your home office, while he was still fully clothed.
He suddenly stood up in front of you, removing his tan suit jacket; and then throwing it off to the floor. Yoongi leaned in close, grabbing your jaw and giving you a deep kiss; making you taste your own arousal.
âCan you do that for me?â His voice was barely above a whisper.
âYes.â You answered, even though it didnât sound very promising. âBut Yoongi, I think I might have to talk in this.â
âThen you can talk.â Yoongi pressed three of his fingers against your clit, then in a half of a second they were inside of you again.
Yoongi was going way harder than before; fucking you with his fingers. He stood up, trying to get better leverage. You felt his fingers bump your sweet spot, making you grab onto him; practically begging him not to stop.
âYoongi, donât stop. Please donât stop.â Your voice was a whine as your walls were clenching his fingers.
On the brink of your second orgasm, you could hear the squelching noise coming from between your legs; realizing that you were probably gushing at this point.
âYoongi.â You whined, pulling him in for a kiss.
You felt his fingers leave you again, making you let out a sob of a moan against his mouth. At this point you wanted to cry. You wished that your stupid meeting was over and Yoongi was pounding you into your mattress.
âYoongi, I donât know if I can take it anymore.â Your voice was shaky as you exhaled.
âI think you can handle more.â Yoongi answered you. He was right, you always liked to push yourself until you found your limit.
You let out a whine when you felt his fingers teasing your entrance again. âYoongi, please.â
In what seemed like perfect timing; you heard everyone in your meeting saying their goodbyes and wrapping up.
âAlright have a good night everyone, see you Monday morning.â
You watched Yoongi in front of you undoing his belt, and throw it onto the floor with a thud. You quickly unmuted yourself in the meeting to say good bye, then left.
You took out the one AirPod you had in your right ear just in time for Yoongi to grab your chin with one of his hands, kissing you with such a force you thought heâd bruise you.
You grabbed onto his wrist when he simultaneously slipped his tongue into your mouth as his fingers started rubbing your now over sensitive clit.
Yoongi let out a moan into your mouth, making your core clench around nothing.
You broke away from the kiss, his face was still close to yours. Practically aching for him, you whined. âYoongi, please.â
Swiping his tongue over his bottom lip, Yoongi stood back up, and began unbuttoning his shirt. âGo to the couch. With your back towards me.â
As Yoongiâs shirt was discarded onto the floor, you got up out of your chair; your legs feeling like they didnât belong to yourself at first. The couch was only a few steps away from your chair at your desk.
You put your knees onto the seat of the couch, then leaned your upper body onto the back rest. Never thinking youâd be having sex in your office; you were glad that this couch was surprisingly roomy.
Hearing movement and fabric rustling, you could only assume that Yoongiâs pants were now off. He moved his hand along the small of your back, pushing your t shirt up to expose more of your body to him.
âFuck.â Yoongi swore as you arched your back, getting ready for him. âLook at you.â
You let out a moan when you felt his cock head against your entrance, and you moved, trying to fuck yourself onto him.
Yoongi grabbed a hold of your hips, keeping you still he pushed himself inside of you; bottoming out in one thrust.
âFuck!â You let out a moan, your mouth falling open.
Yoongi sucked in a harsh breath. âGod, you feel so fucking good.â
You put your knees further apart on the couch in attempts to feel him a little deeper.
âYoongi, fuck.â You slightly turned, grabbing onto his wrist as he held onto you. âDonât stop.â
You felt him nudge your g-spot, making your walls abruptly clench around him. You could tell that your orgasm was somewhat close.
Suddenly Yoongi pulled you up so your back was against his chest; the new angle making you feel him so deep it was like he was in your stomach.
Your eyes were watering as you still clutch onto him. âFuck, Yoongi Iâm so close.â Leaning back into him, he planted a few kisses along your shoulder and neck.
Yoongi reached between hour legs with one hand and started to rub your clit, and your legs started to shake underneath you.
Your eyes were getting teary as Yoongiâs pace never faltered. âYoongi, please.â Your voice was a whine. âLet me cum.â
âYeah, you wanna cum?â Yoongiâs voice was breathy against your neck.
âPlease.â You leaned into him, one of your hands making its way to his dark hair as you craned your neck to kiss him. âTell me Iâm a good girl.â
Yoongi grunted, starting to fuck into you so hard that you fell forwards back onto the couch. âMy good girl.â It was almost as if he was enunciating the words with his thrusts.
âOh god.â The words left your mouth like a sob as your orgasm crashed into you; this time Yoongi doing nothing to stop it. Your body nearly trembling as Yoongi continued fucking into you. âFuck.â
âShit.â Yoongi swore under his breath, his hips stuttering before releasing himself inside of you.
âYoongi.â You whined at the feeling before it was apparent it was running down your inner thigh. You laughed slightly. âMy couch.â
âWhat?â He was panting, then laughed with you. âSorry, baby.â
You turned to face him. âGod, what time is it? Iâm exhausted.â
âYouâre telling me. Iâm jetlagged as fuck right now.â
You looked up at him, both of you were sweaty, fucked out, and exhausted.
âIâm happy youâre home.â
Yoongi smiled at you, pulling you up off of the couch. âMe too, now letâs take a shower and go the fuck to bed.â

FORGIVELESS - EPILOGUE - IT'S ALL LOVE đŠľ
Full Masterlist
FINALE CHAPTER
RIO MASTERLIST
Pairing: Rio (Good Girls) X Reader
Word Count: ~1.1K
Dedications: To all of you who commented and made this story feel like an active community. This happily ever after is dedicated to you đŠľ
9 YEARS LATER
Leaning into your vanity you squint your eyes to assess your makeup blending skills. Youâre completely out of practice these days. Your music stops playing and you see Tias name flash across the phoneâs screen.
âIâll be there in ten minutes. I hope youâre ready!â She shouts over her blaring car stereo.
âAlmost!â You respond, blending out your concealer.
âAlright see you soonâ she shouts and you shake your head as your first born enters your bedroom. Time has blown by and it amazes you everytime you look at him how much your baby has grown. Taking all of the best parts from you and his father.
âYou look pretty,â he smiles, charming as ever.
âThank you babyâ you smile, kissing his cheek and leaving a lipstick mark. He leaves it there when you go to wipe it off before laying one on you.
âBut youâre gonna be back in the morning to see my soccer game right?â He asks for the third time tonight.
âWouldnât miss itâ you promise.
âOkay, Iâm going to bed now.â he nods, giving you a warm hug, nuzzling into your neck like the spoiled overgrown baby he is when his dad isnt looking.
âSleep tight, champâ you smile, squeezing your eight year old tight.
âLove youâ he says first.
âLove you tooâ you smile blowing him a kiss. Setting your face you remove your robe to reveal your outfit for girls night. The one you didnât ask for but were roped into. Apparently your friends and family were tired of nights in and wanted to be outside again with you. For the sake of peace youâve agreed. Dressed and ready you head downstairs where you find your husband with your newest edition awake in his arms and your twins out cold on the couch. His eyes drink you in the same as always, the eternal flame of desire in your relationship is too hot to burn out.
âDont look at me like that, I have to leave soonâ you warn, making him smile.
âYou made mama even more gorgeousâ Rio says standing with your youngest daughter, a nine month old chunk with a deep attachment to her daddy. Youâre grateful for how RIoâs taken to the baby weight and your ever evolving body after 3 pregnancies and 4 children. Your babygirl coos making you smile.
âThanks baby, Iâll call you if anything comes up. Tia should be here any minute.â You tell Rio before kissing him goodbye. He rids his lips of the lipstick, unlike his eldest son and you smile.
âWhen will you be home?â he probes.
âOne - ish, I donât want to be too tired during the game and I might be fullâ you explain touching your breasts to signify the ever present rounds of milk being produced to satisfy the baby.
âAlrightâ Rio nods, kissing the top of your head.
âUgh, Christopher get off of her. Four kids is enough!â Tia says looking in from the screen door. Laughing, you unlock the door and she heads straight to the baby.
âMommy youâre gonna be with me tomorrowâ Tia coos, making your youngest smile. âHello Christopherâ she says acknowledging whoâs holding the baby.
âYou donât start no fights or get too drunk. My wife isnât rowdy like youâ Rio warns getting to business.
âIf she can handle your ass, sheâll be fineâ Tis says fanning him off with her quick wit.
âLove you, nightâ you wave before leaving. Your marriage turned out to be even more than you knew you wanted. Rio hadnât tied you down. Marrying him felt like being set free. Although, lately your girls begged to differ. You were knee deep in mom-life. Eight, four and nine months. Four kids are no joke and they occupy your weekdays and weekends. Youâre always ready to cut out of adult only functions to spend time with them. Rioâs an incredible father too. Patient with perseverance. Thereâs nothing he wonât do for them, nothing too lowly to his attention. Heâs a hands-on father thatâs present for his family. Looking down he finds his daughter pouting.
âI know I donât like it eitherâ he tells her, looking at the sleeping twins.
At the club you feel the bass and smile watching the girls dance around you. You move along to the rhythm with them having a great time. You canât remember the last time you were in a club without Rio. It had to be before you met him. Tia dances, putting on a show and summoning more male attention than youâre comfortable with. You laugh watching your friends try to settle the men down and check your watch to see youâve lost track of time. Itâs 12:30. Looking at Tia thereâs no way sheâs letting up anytime soon.Â
âWant to danceâ a man with a muscular physique says, reminding you of James.
âNoâ you tell him plainly causing him to walk away.
âYou got your husbands Iâll kill you face down patâ Marisol jokes.
âHeâs rubbed off on me.â You admit as the song changes. Marisol is something off the clock, she gets the rowdiest of all the girls. You guess listening to peopleâs problems all day will do that to you. Stepping out of the thick of it you head to the bar to get a virgin cocktail of your choosing.
âVirgin?â You hear after telling the bartender your order. You turn to see your husband seated beside you. He pays as the bartender slides you your drink. You have a million questions. But you relax.
âMhm?â You nod sipping the drink with your eyes fixed on him.
âAre you sober or something?â He asks pretending to be a stranger. It reminds you of your first ever conversation all those years ago.
âMother, I need to be clear headedâ you correct over the music.
âBaby daddy let you out looking that good?â Rio says checking you out.
âHusbandâ you flash your rings. Rio pretends to be surprised at the size of the rings he put on your finger.
âMaking money like that heâs probably a stiff fuckâ Rio says, still the kind of spontaneity.
Shrugging you play along. âCanât complain.â
âWell I think youâre sexy and with rings like that I know you have good pussy. Let me take you to a hotel huh. We can have a little fun and you can go play mom in the morning?â Rio says making you smile.
âYouâre unbelievable,â you laugh.
âYouâre crazy if you think Iâm leaving you alone looking like thatâ he responds shamelessly.
âWhy not?â You relent, unfolding your arms. âBut you better not catch feelings, my husband is crazyâ you agree continuing the charade.
âCanât blame himâ Rio says following suit.
âUghhhâ you hear behind you and find Tia hating.
âDonât be like that!â You laugh heading out with your man. Hand in hand with Rio you head to your car. The G-Wagon is now an Escalade, because of the kids. When Rio takes the exit towards your favourite hotel you settle in your seat grateful for your life now. Thankful your first husband didn't keep you from the man of your dreams.

â đđĽđĽ-đ§đ˘đ đĄđđđŤđŹ đ°đ˘đđĄ đŤđ¨đđđ¨ đŤđ˘đđđŤđŹ.
main masterlist
pairing(s) â bull-rider!MATTHEW TKACHUK x barrel racer!hughes!reader (can be read as an unnamed oc) wc â 1.8k synopsis â wear the hat, ride the cowboyâeven if it might get you disowned.
note â there's one line referring to the reader as jack's twin, but no physical description is given. also, this one-shot is a "party favor" from our feb slumber party
specific content warnings under the cut.
cw â quinn being a dramatic, misogynistic douche-canoe 3000 for the entirety (ratty matty has his moments, too), no actual smut but it's heavily implied they do the dirty on the reg, a disgustingly intimate situationship â ick, off-color comment(s) relating to first times and the concept of virginity, lots and lots of familial angst (jack is a snake), oh! and more than a few loose ends... but you know the drill by now, i'm incapable of keeping a story contained
âGo on, Palomino Princess. Ride me like one of your ponies.âÂ
Condescension drips from the lazy taunt. Matthew earns a palm to the chest for it; her ire lands with a faint thud, but he doesnât mind. He gets off on riling her up, and after two years of backseat meetings and hushed phone calls, heâs damn good at it too. That, and she might be the most reactive person heâs ever metâand thatâs saying something.Â
Matthewâs been going head-to-head with all three of her brothers for over a decade, and heâs known their family for even longer. Having a short fuse must be genetic. Â Â
âYâwonât break me if thatâs the hold-up. Sâgonna take a hell of a lot more than a dry humpinâ buckle bunny to put me outta commission, sweetheart.âÂ
He knows damn well she ainât anywhere close to the derogatory term, but he likes what the complete disregard for her accomplishments does to her deceptively cherubic face.Â
It may look less harrowing than every other event on the card, but barrel racing ainât for the faint-hearted. The event is a death wish personified, and it feels about as good as someone taking a metal pipe to both shins. It takes ballsâmetaphorically, in her caseâto charge into an arena on an American Quarter horse with the intention of guiding it through a cloverleaf pattern around three barrels while sprinting at top speed, but it takes dedication and skill to succeed the way she has. The winner is determined by just thousandths of a second.Â
The woman perched on his tailgate is unmatchedâundefeated. Â
Flames of pride lap at his loins, the fire of desire stoked by the wicked roll of her hips.Â
âOhhâshit!â Matthew hisses, his head lolling back as his hips buck into her heat.Â
She smirks, apparently vindictive as ever. âHowâs that, cowboy? Everything you dreamed?âÂ
âAnd more,â he growls as he grabs a fistful of her backside.Â
His grip is tighter than it needs to be as he switches positions. Not nearly as rough as she would prefer it; beggars canât be choosers. Â
Matthew steps between her knees, and, despite herself, she shivers with anticipation. Chuckling, amusement twinkles in his baby blues. âNow give me a kiss, sweetheart. My lips are feelinâ a little lonely tonight, and you happen to be wearinâ my hat, Little Miss.âÂ
He flicks the brim of his hat. She catches it before it hits the ground before plopping it back on the rightful owner, the damage already done. Â
âYou just love that antiquated rule,â she shakes her head while most definitely laughing at his expense. âYâwouldnât see any action without it, now would you?âÂ
Matthew grins. Trading insults is his favorite form of foreplay. âNeither would you. Isnât that your signature move, outlaw?â
âI should kick you to the back of the line with that attitude. Hell, Iâd probably be better off keeping you at a distance anyway.âÂ
âKeep mouthinâ off and see how far it gets ya. Definitely nowhere near that McMansion castle you call home, thatâs for sure.âÂ
âOh, donât you worry âbout me, sugar. Iâve got plenty of options if I need a ride home.âÂ
âIâll bet, show pony. Sexiest can chaser east of the Mississippi; who wouldnât be chomping at the bit to carry Cinderella home to her Daddy?âÂ
Men have a habit of gawking at her; Matthew has a habit of relieving them of their teeth.Â
He leans in to taunt her ear with greedy lips and barbed arrogance. âBest of luck finding one thatâll fuck you better than me.â  Â
âDo you think about other guys fucking me often?â she fires without missing a beat.
More than he would like, actually.
With a heavy, drawn-out sigh, he runs a hand over his face. His patience is running thin, and his jeans are starting to chafe. Exasperated, he tries coaxing her to reason, âSweetheart, câmon. We both know you want thisâwant me. Stop makinâ this so damn hard.âÂ
âWhy? Because you already are?âÂ
Matthew makes an exaggerated show of play-biting her scrunched-up nose.Â
âWoman, you drive me insane.â
âItâs why youâre so obsesââÂ
Her teasing is thwarted by the sound of her own name. Spat out of her older brotherâs mouth like a heirloom gone sour, it's no great surprise Quinn looks at her like he canât recognize her. Like a strangerâlike a traitor.Â
Guilt, thin and fleeting, pieces the tenderness between her ribs.Â
She squirms, attempting to put some distance between them as if that could erase the discoveryâand her culpabilityâfrom his mind. Matthew and his shit-eating grin keep her from getting too far but donât be fooled. This is no chivalrous encouragement to stand her ground. Itâs got nothing to do with her and everything to do with her brother.Â
Quinn rages outside the hauler housing Matthewâs precious 3500 Laramie. Walking by, seeing the main trailer hitched Bradyâs F-350 made his stomach churn. It didnât sit right, and now he knew why.Â
âYou canât be serious! Nuh-uh, noâno fucking way. Get out here before I drag you out myself.â Â
At his tone, what little remorse she felt dissipates. They were both far too old for his tired, overbearing song-and-dance.Â
âWho died and made you king?âÂ
Quinn, blinded by overripe anger, sweeps over the irritation, twisting her tongue and the disbelief arching her brow. âI thought I made myself clear last time. Donât make me repeat myself.âÂ
âOh, crystal, Quinny.â Matthew snorts at the juvenile nickname but is swiftly cajoled into silence with a pinch to the side. âMessage received.âÂ
âThen quit screwinâ around and get your ass back to the truck before Dad blows a gasket. Heâs been lookinâ all over for you. So, you best be thanking your lucky stars I got here first. That its me catchinâ you red-handed colluding with the enemy.âÂ
Heâs so serious, nearly shaking with rage, itâs difficult not to laugh. She can count on one hand the instances wherein her brother became visibly angryâall of them involving the man standing between her dangling feet. She fares better than him, but thatâs to be expected. Unlike her accomplice, for her, thereâs real risk involved.Â
âJust âcause I heard you donât mean I have to listen.âÂ
Lips pressed to her temple, Matthew clicks his tongue in approval. âBout damn time she started giving back what Quinn so readily dishes out.Â
âLook, yâcan spread your legs for anyone with big dreams and a buckle some other night. Parade around the circuit acting like a slut, see if I give a shit. But not tonight. And not with him.âÂ
The knowing glint in Quinnâs blackened eyes is telling, but it isnât as menacing as he thinks it is. The Hughes heir apparent couldnât be judge, jury, and executioner. He doesnât have a lick of proof. Just suspicion and a personal vendetta the size of Texas.Â
A safety net swaying below, Matthew decides to have a little fun. âWhoa, settle down, Trust Fund. Yâcanât talk to a lady like that, âspecially not your sister.âÂ
Heâs no white knight, but he can pretend.Â
And isnât that what youâre all doing? Pretending to be people you arenât. Acting out your roles, putting on a show. After all, a performance will always be more entertaining than the truth.Â
ââand here I thought etiquette classes were a Rodeo Royalty rite of passage. Glad tâknow she ainât the only roughneck hellion in your family tree, Huggy.âÂ
Quinnâs jaw tightens. His tongue threatens to put a hole through his cheek. Hands on his hips, the eldest sibling only nods. He ignores Matthew entirely.Â
âReal winner yâgot there. A class act. You really know how to pick âemâcream of the goddamn crop. Say, whatâre you gonna do when he inevitably gets bored of you? When he gets his hands on a fresh doe-eyed virgin to tarnish?âÂ
After she finishes with Matthew, sheâs kicking Jackâs sorry ass.Â
Those anxietiesâand that majorly personal tidbit of informationâwere shared in confidence. Because unlike her older brother, she trusted her twin. Well, she used to, at least. Lukeâll be over the moon at the chance to be her favorite.Â
She bares her teeth like a scorned lapdog. âWeâre not kids anymore, Q. You canât push me around whenever you want or tell me what to do like youâre my father. And you sure as shit canât bully me into submission, either. Give it up, or get lost.âÂ
âWhatever,â Quinn barks as he backs away from the trailer. âYour fuckinâ funeral.âÂ
Listening to the fading sound of her brotherâs Ariats pounding through the dirt, she buries her face in the warm, familiar crook of Matthewâs neck; she needs a moment alone. He seems to understand this, his mouth zipped shut as he runs calloused hands up and down her sides. Sheâs breathing heavily, but he does her the simple mercy of leaving it be.Â
âIf I didnât know any better, Iâd think I was growing on you,â Matthew hums, a low-maintenance attempt to lighten the mood.Â
They donât do the touchy-feely BS. Itâs one of the things that reeled him inâand kept him coming back.Â
âBut you do.â She pulls away to look up at him, chin resting on his sternum. He hates that her melancholic eyes are red-rimmed. ââand stop thinking, it doesnât suit you.âÂ
âAnd what does, princess? Iâm dyinâ for your insight.âÂ
âShut the door and Iâll show you.âÂ
He blinks, taken aback. Who is this brazen tart, and when did she take your place? Matthew wonders to himself. Maybe he is the bad influence everyone paints him as⌠He hasnât really thought about it until now, and it's troubling the way it makes his chest tighten.Â
Matthew clears his throatâand, from his mind, the distressing notion that heâs ruined someone good with his carelessnessâas he leans over.Â
âYes, maâam.âÂ
He pulls the haulerâs heavy metal door shut with clamorous finality. Â
Matthew Tkachuk might be the most self-serving swindler on dirt, but Quinn Hughes is just another name on his list. A box to tick and then forget. He wouldnât lose sleep, it wasnât like their friendship meant a damn thing. Not anymore. A friend turned foe, reduced to another obstacle in his way, a hurdle to jump.Â
Tonight, his sisterâs fealty; tomorrow, his title.
Retribution is at his fingertips, so close he can taste it. Yet, it would seem that Matthew merely traded one hornetâs nest for another.Â
At least this oneâs easy on the eyes.Â

Hey it's Lunadream⥠It's the first month of 2024, This is your love reading set for the current month! Let's see what's going on with their heart this month.𩷠(This was posted in January, but the reading can be timeless <3) hope you find your messageđ
Notice: Only take what resonates because the most important thing is your own judgement!⥠If anything doesn't resonate, don't worry! It's not your message right now <3 (Entertainment purpose only. All rights reserved)
Now, shall we begin~? ^w^ Think of the your person, and pick whichever pile that fits the energy you're feeling~đ¸đ¤
Pile 1đĽď¸
Pile 2đĽ
Pile 3đ
Pile 4đą
Take your time and choose carefully with the heart~âĄ
On to the readings â> đ¤
Pile 1đĽď¸
Sign energy: Attempt, Universe, Addiction, Mental, Synchrony, Libra, Vertex, Lilith, Neptune, Capricorn,đ§˝đ°đđ¤
đ¤Your person's energy: Okay there is some soulmate energy in this pile, This is someone with a dreamy mind and omg you guys think so much alikeđŤ˘đ Prominent Libra, Pisces, or Capricorn placements. I feel like this person prefers to have control over their love life or their situations regarding relationships. I'm hearing that they really want to be on the same page as their partner, working together and cooperating in harmony. You may daydream of this person often, or you two could be thinking of eachother at the same times.đ Your person is very dedicated to their partnerships, they work hard to mantain them. You may feel obsessed with this person, for some of you pile 1's this person is your addiction. You could be addicted to the sound of their voiceđđ¤ Some of you this person drives you crazy, good or bad. I'm getting that you two have a dark infatuation with eachother, your shadow sides could be really attracting eachother. It could feel wrong in some way, but also really good. The universe recognizes you two as a couple, a pair of some sort. It is a fated connection, for some of my pile 1's it's twin flame or soulmates. I feel like you or them morph into thinking like the other person, you might try to copy them ot vice versa (It's so sweet). This person has a very attractive and serious energy, they treat love like a full time job I'm hearing.
đŠˇTheir feelings for you: True feelings, True intentions, Less, Watch your back, White, North node, Saturn, Water, Leo, 2nd house,đ
âď¸đđ Wow there is a lot of honest and straightforward answering for their feelings towards my pile 1's. I'm seeing that your person's decisions are set and in motions right now, they aren't shifting the path they have chosen for this connection. They have a lot of genuine feelings for you guys, like honest love for you they aren't faking it.𼺠But you know what, your person might be messing themselves up with this one. They could be prone to telling white lies because they think it's for the better of the future, so they're definitely guarding their romantic feelings from my pile 2's. They could be in a tiger energy, fiercely on edge and keeping out anyone who makes them show their vulnerable or loving side. Now can I just say this person has big intentions with you guys, they want a future with you. Omg and they're so attracted to you, especially your back and shoulders.đđ But they're hiding this pretty well right now I'm hearing, their attraction to you might be scaring them. They're trying to give less and restrict themselves from you, It may even be laughable to you as you watch them try so hard this month to hide their feelings. Lol it's so obvious, I can't see this going on for long either not any more than a month. Because they honestly can't hide their true love for you guys, it will be torture if they keep going like thatđ˘â¤ď¸ I feel like they just now realized what love can do to them and it makes them so confused like "So this is love? I want my money back!" Lol that's themđ They're trying to hit a reset button on these feelings for my pile 1's but I don't see this working for them, once they make up their mind they will finally admit how much they want this.đ
đMessages from your person: I hope you feel better, Don't get it twisted, I should stop hiding my feelings, I've been so busy, I went to far, I had it coming, Let's have fun, I'm holding back (Omg they're really admitting itđĽš) Extra cards: Spoil, Princess, Warm, Imagination, Waist (Ohh my pile 1's they want to spoil you so badlyđŤđđđđ I'll let you put together the restđ)
Thank you my pile 1's! If you feel this resonated, you may tap the heart to claim this message!âĄ
I hope you enjoyed your reading! Ę(ď˝ĄË áľ Ë )É If you did be sure to let me know pile 1 with the shadow couple emoji~đĽď¸ Thanks for scrolling through, Hugs hugs hugs!! See you in the next readingđ¤
Pile 2đĽ
Sign energy: Miss, Technology, June, Mental, Playful, Fire, Cancer, 2nd house, 11th house, 5th house,đđ°đââď¸đ
đ¤Your person's energy: So this is someone you had some huge feelings for, definitely a no contact situation right now. You really miss this person, I feel like you guys got separated somehow𼺠Cancer, Taurus, Aquarius and Leo placements are likely, Fire placements. They're a caring and fun individual, omg they are so creative and sweet. Smart too. My pile 2's person thinks a lot, they may play games a lot or used to. This could be a friend or someone you dated for a short amount of time or there was just a sudden flame that burnt out very quickly.đŻđ My pile 2's may be holding on to the relationship somehow, most likely through technology or social media. I feel like you guys still think of this person often, and when you're like scrolling through your phone some random thought of them pops into your head.đ𫢠Could be an artist or enjoy drawing. June is a significant time for this relationship, it could be when something will happen or something that did. Maybe you guys met in June or lost contact in that month. They're a social and curious person, you may think of their voice or remember it often. The way they smile is so sweet, and they have a lot of different talents. A bright and uplifting person.â¨ď¸
đŠˇTheir feelings for you: On, Scratch, Illusion, Prove, Destiny, Juno, Jupiter, Taurus, Gemini, 3rd house,đđđ¤Šđ Omg this is so sad. They want to marry you straight UPđ And they wanna show you that it's not just a silly relationship between you two, they see you as their other half.. their destiny.đ My pile 2's your person feels like they have to talk to you, it's so important to them. They want to prove their feelings to you, and show you their heart. They want to unveil the illusive surface of the relationship and have you see that it's not what you think at all, they're actually really patient and set on being with you for a long time my pile 2's.đ¤§đ They want to talk about marriage, and commiting to you. This worries them so much, because they think you won't want it. They have a big picture of the future with you, it lights them up inside but it also makes them feel already so disappointed expecting that it won't happen. They think of you very often, sometimes they're optimistic about you and other times they're hopeless. You mean so much to them, all they want to to put that ring on your finger!!đđŠđ Literally so many thoughts of marrying you, they want to have you be theirs for good.âĄ
đMessages from your person: Open your heart, I'm desperate for your touch, You're my addiction, I can't tell, I won't tell anyone (Ohh they're taking that to the graveđŤ˘đ) Extra cards: Devotion, Offer, Siblings, Practice, Peace (You guys they wish they could show you how much you mean to them and show their devotion to youđ)
Thank you my pile 2's! If you feel this resonated, you may tap the heart to claim this message!âĄ
I hope you enjoyed your reading! Ę(ď˝ĄË áľ Ë )É If you did be sure to let me know pile 2 with the (totally an ornament) metal emoji~đĽ Thanks for scrolling through, Hugs hugs hugs!! See you in the next readingđ¤
Pile 3đ
Sign energy: Crush, Suffer, Balence, Let go, Stay, 6th house, Gemini, Mercury, Taurus, Neptune, đđ¤šââď¸đŚđ
đ¤Your person's energy: This person is definitely a romantic interest for my pile 3'sđ Virgo, Gemini, Taurus and Pisces, lots of Mercurial influence in your persons chart perhaps. A lot of my pile 3's have a crush on this person. You may daydream of this person often, could be a regular thing for you guysđ Your person is more quick witted and a sharp thinker, they think a lot. But I feel like it is a burden to them sometimes, like they think too much. For some of you this person may have lost a sibling or grown apart from them. Omg they are really juggling a lot right now, I'm hearing that they multitask way to much.𤯠They have a lot on their mind a once. Your person probably has headaches a lot or they're more prone to it. This person could be someone you wish you could keep, like a valuable possession you don't want to give up. I'm hearing you want to stay with this person, or they may wish to stay with you but also feel the need to let go. They want to feel at ease and seek balence in their mind, my pile 3's your person wants some peace and quiet for once!đ
They want to let go of all the thoughts they have and calm down.
đŠˇTheir feelings for you: Innovation, Bad, College, Night, Zoo, Libra, South node, Jupiter, Uranus, Juno,đđ§ đˇđ Okay so your person may be weary or trying to avoid you for some reason right now, definitely romantic tension from you guys.𫣠One or both of you may be in college or that could be a significant change in their feelings. The skull emoji has popped out twice so that's interesting, maybe this is a connection you thought you cut off or they did and it came back from the grave. They definitely don't feel good about you my pile 3's, you're making their head spin! I feel like they're thinking of a wild night with you guys it's so strange, like they might be having some really crazy thoughts of you and it's stressing them out further.đŹđ You are stuck in this person's head, they see you as a long term partner in their eyes. But this also freaks them out so they like wanna believe you're bad for them.đ Wow your person definitely has an imagination about you, they try to convince themselves they don't want you in their life. You may have done something in the past that left a mark on them, or perhaps something they are judging you off of. They want you but don't want you at the same time. Very indecisive right now. But my pile 3's they low key wanna marry you wtf, then all of the sudden you're the devil reincarnated in their head omlđ𫣠They are mentally obsessed with you though, lol idk if it's even their faultđ Pile 3 this person is so into you that they're having to convince themselves they aren'tđĽľâ¤ď¸
đMessages from your person: Let me in, You make me lovesick, If it's what you want, Just us two, Just talk to me, Please don't be sad, I want to avoid you, You make me wild (It's so true, literally exactđâ¤ď¸âđĽ) Extra cards: Audience, Price, Ring, Mars, Rise (Some dominating energy coming throughđŤŁ)
Thank you my pile 3's! If you feel this resonated, you may tap the heart to claim this message!âĄ
I hope you enjoyed your reading! Ę(ď˝ĄË áľ Ë )É If you did be sure to let me know pile 3 with the wedding church emoji~đ Thanks for scrolling through, Hugs hugs hugs!! See you in the next readingđ¤
Pile 4đą
Sign energy: Past, Performance, Toy, Guardian, Shine, Vertex, Sagittarius, 3rd house, Mars, Sun,đŤđđđĽď¸
đ¤Your person's energy: This person is more dominant to my pile 4's. You may have a set image of them being amazing or well recognized. Sagittarius, Gemini, Aries, Scorpio and Leo placementsđ Ohh now the 8 ball if a perfect symbol for this pile's energy since the number is connected to Scorpio, some of you may have picked up on that when choosing this pile. Your person is are very assertive especially verbally, dominant in most conversations I'm hearing. They probably have a really attractive voice, for some of you their voice is more masculine or rough. Aww I feel like this person is sort of like a big brother to you guys, or that's the dynamic I'm seeing with you twođĽšđ They may protect you or just their very presence makes you feel this way. Omg they could tease you? Like they enjoy playing around with you in conversations, and maybe they say something that makes you blush and they tease you for itđł I can totally see that happening between you guys. They are the type to make an entrance, especially when delivering a message or telling a story. I feel like they converse with a lot of people, everyone views them as fun and unpredictable.â¨ď¸ They may get in arguments easily though, as they are very straightforward in communicating. Ngl I feel like dirty talk is their specialty but I'll leave it there𤍠They gain attention and praise effortlessly, they probably don't even want it. Also I'm just getting physically they are just, wow, okay??đ
đŠˇTheir feelings for you: Submissive, Chains, Longevity, Fashion, Intimacy, Juno, Libra, Air, Aries, Venus,đ°đ¤đđŚ Oh god.. my pile 4's this just got intense.𼲠I'm going to try and keep it as light as possible. So yeah, they want you. Definitely very into you my pile 4's, the way you dress is very attractive to them. They find you very pretty and cute, they really want to see you in a wedding dress I'm hearing. (Yes marriage definitelyđđŤ ) There is a LOT they want from you guys, I don't know where to start honestly. This person really wants intimacy with you, they want physical interaction with you. I feel like they won't take their hands off you though!đŤđĽľ They see you as someone very delicate and feminine, someone they can surprise I'm hearingđ Your person wants to dominate you, I mean take you OVER. You bring out a monster in them ngl, the things they want with you..đ° They like being the more experienced one with you, I'm leaving that there. They know a lot about you too, probably everything you like. They want to be aggressive with you, so they can gain dominance over you completely. Because they love the idea of you submitting to them, so they may purposely start little arguments to make you nervous. But it's really because they want to kiss you when you're caught off guardđ My pile 4's your person has some INTENSE feelings for you𫣠They like being unpredictable with you, the rest is very đ since this isn't that type of reading I'll let some of my pile 4's put the rest together :'D
đMessages from your person: You know better than this, You have no boundaries with me, Are you for real? Like you would know, Don't wait for me, We don't need boundaries (Oh myđł) Extra cards: Want, Unhealthy, Present, Beach, Fine
Thank you my pile 4's! If you feel this resonated, you may tap the heart to claim this message!âĄ
I hope you enjoyed your reading! Ę(ď˝ĄË áľ Ë )É If you did be sure to let me know pile 4 with the 8 ball emoji~đą Thanks for scrolling through, Hugs hugs hugs!! See you in the next readingđ¤

begging for you to take my hand ⧠leo campo
angst city⢠library | send in a request (consult request faqs first)
request: leo campo requests?? did i read that right because yes please!! if youâd like to write something angsty with reader being in love with Leo but Leo loves Nikki? it can or cannot have a happy ending, whichever you feel like (although i am a sucker for happy endings hehe) but yeah and it can be anything you likeÂ
honestly anything with Leo you wish to write would be a great read đ thank you and no pressure, only if youâd like to - @sunshine-on-my-mind
pairing: leo campo x fem!readerÂ
summary: you loved leo all your life, but he never spared you a second glance. when he finally starts to notice you, his attention is taken just as quickly. youâre ready to forget anything ever happened, but he canât let you go.Â
word count: 5,717
warnings?: angst with a happy ending, pining, unrequited love (or so you think), insecurities, miscommunication, misunderstanding, love confession, ending is a little rushed, not proofread
Leo Campo was an easy man to love. What was hard, was not being the only person vying for his attention. And for most of your life, the person who won his attention was none other than Nikki Angioli. You understood, of course. Nikki was everything you werenât. Beautiful, charismatic, smart as a whip. It was easy for Leo to love her.Whenever you were with Leo and Nikki, it felt like you were a third wheel. After all, they were practically born to be best friends. Their parents worked together, they got to see each other pretty much every hour of every day. Meanwhile, you were just someone they sort ofâŚWell, not tolerated. It was more than that. You were sure they considered you to be a friend. But you were never someone they really sought out. You were there, and therefore you were their friend.Â
Itâs justâŚitâs hard to be part of a trio. No matter how easy Percy, Annabeth, and Grover made it look, it was fucking hard. There was always, always, always someone left out. And that someone was almost always, probably 99.9999% of the timeâŚYou. You werenât sure that Leo and Nikki meant to leave you out, but it always tended to happy. Perhaps it was because their families worked together for so long, perhaps it was because they were practically branded as besties ever since their mothers got pregnant, perhaps it was because they were twin flames or some cheesy shit like that. Whatever it was, you knew that you could easily fall to the wayside and neither of them would probably notice.Â
In a lot of ways, they didnât.Â
It felt like every time something incredible happened to you, something awful would happen to either Leo or Nikki and all of the attention would be focused on making sure they were okay. If, Heaven forbid, something horrible happened to you, something would great happen to them and how dare you bring down the mood by talking about your struggles. Whichâdonât get you wrongâit was absolutely valid to lend Leo and Nikki a shoulder to cry on or celebrate with them. Itâs just, they so rarely kept the same energy for you. Â
The friendship fell apart quite easily. Between the rivalry between their fathers that forced Leo and Nikki apart and you taking on more responsibility at the bakery when your mother died, everyone drifted apart. You were still friendly when you saw them at school or around the neighborhood, and so were they, but it was different. It wasnât the same, and you werenât sure it ever would be. As you all got older, the distance grew even greater. Leo took on jobs at both his fatherâs pizza shop and at Luigiâs. Nikki moved to London to go to cooking school. And youâŚYou stayed where you had been for years, working at your motherâs bakery, hoping that one day you might catch Leoâs eye.Â
Then, one day, it felt like the stars had aligned and all your wishes had come true.Â
You were about to close up the bakery for the night when the jingle of the bell above the door alerted you to the last minute customer. You barely looked up from your sweeping, shouting out, âWeâre closed! Come back tomorrow!â
âAh, youâre really gonna turn your best friend away?â
The broom nearly fell from your hands. You tightened your grip on it as you looked up to see the beautiful blue eyes you always dreamed of. (God, this was pathetic, even for a hopeless romantic.) You swallowed hard. âWould you keep Luigiâs open longer just for one customer?â
âIf it was for a pretty girl, I might.â
Was that supposed to be directed at you? Was he calling you a pretty girl? Or was Leo just being quippy? Fuck. Just being around the man made you an anxious teenager all over again.Â
You huffed out a laugh and shook your head. You tried to not make it obvious the effect he had on you, but you werenât entirely sure you were successful. âI suppose youâre pretty enough. Whatâdya need?â
âMaâs birthday is coming up. I was hoping I could order a cake for her?â Leo asked, leaning against the glass case. âShe always loved your cakes.â
You propped the broom against the wall and grabbed your order sheet and a pen. âSure thing. Anything specific?â
Leo shrugged. âNah, sheâll lover anything you make her. You can have total creative control.â
You smiled a little, jotting down a few ideas on the paper. âAnd when do you need this by?â
Leo was quiet. Which scared you, because Leo is never quiet. When you glanced up at him, he had a pink tint on his cheeks and he was trying to avoid your gaze.Â
âLeoâŚWhen do you need the cake by?â you repeated.
âTomorrow? Morning?â
You gasped. Without thinking, you threw your pen at him. Your aim was terrible, so it soared straight passed his head became hitting the ground. But Leo flinched nonetheless, throwing his arms up to shield himself from anything else you might throw at him. âYouâre a terrible son!â you said.Â
âI know! I know!â Leo slowly lowered his arms, trying to gauge if you were going to throw anything again. âI just got busy, ya know? Between Paâs restaurant, and bartending, and coaching the kidsâ soccer team, I lost track of time!â
âIt took you all of five seconds to place the order! How hard would it have been to just call? Hell, you couldâve submitted an order on my fucking website!â
âI know!â Leo fully lowered his arms, pouting at you. âI just didnât know if you wanted to hear from me.â
You were caught between wanting to yell at him moreâbecause what did that mean? he was the one who stopped talking to you!âand wanting to melt into a puddle of goo. Instead, you found the happy medium of letting out a sigh. You said, âLeo, you know I always love hearing from you.â
Leo perked up a little. âSo youâll make the cake?â
âOnly because itâs for your ma,â you said. âAnd youâll be charged a rush fee.â
âDeal!â
âAnd you get your pretty ass in the back and help me make it, so I can actually get home at a half decent time.â
A smirk crossed Leoâs face. He leaned back over the case. âYou think my ass is pretty?â
Fuck, you hadnât meant to say that. Fuck, fuck, fuckity fuck. How do you recover from this?
âYou, me, and the rest of Little Italy,â you said. A joke, it was. At least that got a chuckle from Leo. As he walked over to the other side of the case, you added, âAnd if you ever think about making an order the night before you need something, I have no qualms with kicking your ass.â
âAh, but then my ass wouldnât be pretty no more, would it? And what a shame that would be.â
âSo conceited,â you said. But as he passed you to walk into the kitchen, you couldnât help yourself from swatting at his ass. Leo yelped, his hands flying to his ass. He turned, looked at you scandalized. âDunno, still looks pretty to me.â
âYouâre awful.â
âYeah, but you love me.â
Leo stares at you for a long moment. You almost begin to wonder if you took things too far. Youâd hardly said more than âhiâ and âcan I get an amaretto sour?â over the last few years. Was this crossing a line? But finally, he offers you a soft smile. âYeah. Yeah, I do.â
âThank you so much, again,â Leo said the next morning when he came to pick up the cake. âI owe you big time.â
You shake your head as you ring him up at the cash register. âItâs for your Ma. Iâd do anything for her after all the shit we put her through when we were kids.â
âTrue, but you really didnâtââ Leo frowned as he looked at the total. âHey, whereâs that huge rush fee you were telling me you were going to charge me?â
You raised a brow. âAre you really complaining about paying less?â
âWhen I made you stay after work for hours? Hell yeah I am. Charge me like anyone else!â Leo argued.Â
âNot gonna happen. I already made you pay by forcing you to help me and listen to my Taylor Swift playlist the entire time.â
âHey, I loved the Taylor Swift playlist! Now, you charge me whatever exorbitant fee you can think of right now!â
âNo, no way. Consider it a gift to a friend. Or better yet, use the money you saved from not paying the fee to get your Ma a gift from me. I saw her eyeing a bottle of wine the other day. I could point the bottle out to youââ
Leo leaned over the glass case, narrowing his eyes at you. âFine. Iâll let you waive the fee and buy Ma some wine. But only if you agree to let me treat you to dinner tomorrow night.â
You laughed, shaking your head. âThat sounds like a threat.â
âConsider it one,â he said. His face softens a little as he adds, âAnd maybe consider it an apology? For me being a shitty friend?â
You reached across the counter and patted Leoâs cheek. âFor you? Of course.â
A grin stretched across the face. âGreat. Come over to my place tomorrow around five?â
âItâs a date.â
Leoâs eyes twinkled as he confirmed, âItâs a date.â
He picked up the cake and left the store, but before shooting you a goofy smile and waved. You laughed, waving back. You were so engrossed with watching him jog across the street to his fatherâs restaurant that you didnât notice Gabbie, your best cake decorator, sneak up beside you.Â
âA date, huh?â she echoed.
You jumped. How did you not see her before? Had you been that lost in Leoâs pretty blue eyes? Trying to play it nonchalant, you shrugged. âI donât think he meant it that way.â
She raised a brow. âAre we talking about the same man? Because, lemme tell you, I donât think heâs ever looked that mesmerized with a girl before.â
Gabbie never saw him with Nikki, you wanted to say. But, instead, you said, âHe just feels bad because I didnât make him pay the rush fee after he ordered a cake last night. He just feels like he owes a debt. Italian men and their pride, ya know?â
âThat wasnât pride and you know it, girlie. Look, if you wanna delude yourself, fine. But Iâm telling you, thereâs something there.â
What Gabbie didnât know about you was, you were the queen of delusion. You spend practically your entire childhood deluding yourself with the idea that one day Leo would see you for the woman you are, to realize that you were his soulmate. And you got your heart broke in the long run because of it. You werenât about to let yourself get hurt again. Leo was not going to break your heart. You wouldnât let him.Â
âWeâre just friends. Thatâs all.â
Gabbie eyed you, trying to see if there would be a crack in your resolve. âWhatever you say.â
When you came in to open the bakery the next day, you knew something was wrong. Mostly because Gabbie was standing at the door, waiting for you, with her arms crossed and a nasty look on her face. As you unlocked the door, you eyed her, trying to figure what was the source of her frustration. But all she did was turn her glare to the pizza shops across the street. And, wellâŚWhatever that was about wasnât good.Â
You were caught between addressing the issue and waiting for her to finally say what was on her mind. You leaned toward waiting, so you began running through all of the opening tasks. Gabbie would open up soon enough. She just liked to stew in her anger before she vented. So, waiting was the best option. If you pushed, she would only get more annoyed.Â
Finally, she asked, âYou wanna know what I heard from Bella?â
You looked in her direction as you wipe down the counter. âProbably some rumor that could swing either way in its truthfulness.â
Gabbie huffed. âDonât make jokes right now. This is serious!â
A frown settled on your face as you gave her your full attention. âWhatâd she tell you?â
âNikkiâs back in town,â Gabbie said as she placed a tray of cookies in the case.Â
âOh?â
You wanted to read into it. You really, really did. But you forced yourself to stamp down your assumptions, your worries. That part of you was probably being irrational, anyways. All Gabbie said was that Nikki was back and that could mean anythingâ
âRumor has it she and Leo went back to his apartment last night,â she continued. She leaned in, her eyebrows raised. âAfter getting drunk together and playing soccer in the rain.â Her face screwed up like she was sucking on a Lemonhead. âIsnât that romantic?â
It felt like your heart dropped to your stomach. Of course. Of course he would take her back to his place. Why wouldnât he? They were practically destined to be together. And with the family rivalry? It was a star-crossed lovers situation if youâd ever seen one.Â
You swallowed your hurt. âSo romantic.â
âSo romantic I could kill him, you know,â Gabbie said.Â
You squeezed your eyes shut, trying to ignore the pain in your chest. âDonât. Iâm sure it wasnât what itâŚIâm sure heâŚFuck, I donât know. But donât kill him, okay? Not until I get a chance to talk to him.â
âHe doesnât get to make you feel like heâs finally seen you for the incredible woman you are and then welcome her into his bed the second she rolls into town!â Gabbie argued.Â
âHe just said he was making me dinner to make off a debt. And I really donât think he meant anything when I said itâs a date. Really, it would be my fault for reading into itââ
âIâm going over there right now to give a piece of my mindââ
You grabbed Gabbie by the elbow, stopping her on her warpath. âDonât. Please.â
She huffed, rolling her eyes. Gabbie looked through the window at the restaurants across the street. If looks could kill, she would probably have exploded those buildings. âYouâre too good for him, you know.â
But not good enough, you wanted to say.Â
The entire day, the questions of what could be happening between Leo and Nikki ate at you. Was there something between them? Were they finally acting on the tension that existed between them for all those years? Had you let your hopes get too high when Leo promised your dinner? If you went to his apartment, would you be left with only pain and heartache?Â
Though Gabbie was harboring all of your anger for you, she did her best to try to distract you. To not let your mind wander too far. But it was all for naught. Because, when you left the bakery, all you wanted to do was run home and forget all of this happened. If you ignored this, if you pretended you forgot, you could avoid all of the hurt. You wouldnât be giving Leo the power to break your heart. And, in some ways, running away made you weak, but at least it would keep you whole.Â
Nothing could have prepared you to see Nikki standing out when you reached Leoâs apartment. Had Leo forgotten that he had made plans with you? Were you that replaceable? You took a deep breath, trying in vain to steady your nerves, and walked up, hitting the buzzer for Leoâs apartment.Â
Nikki looked at you, her brows furrowed together. She almost looked like she had something snarky she wanted to say before she realized who you were. âOh my god! I havenât seen you in ages!â
âThatâs what happens you put an ocean between us,â you teased. You hoped you sounded lighthearted. You hoped bitterness didnât creep into your voice.Â
If it did, Nikki didnât give any indication. She held a hand up in defense. âHey, you got me there. Whatâre you doing here?â
You nod at the door. âLeo promised to make me dinner.â
Nikkiâs face drops. âOh, shit. Are you twoââ
âHe just owed me, is all,â you are quick to add. âHe ordered a cake for his Ma after I already closed for the day, and he needed it the next morning. I wouldnât charge him the rush fee, so he insisted he make me dinner as a repayment.â
âItalian men and their pride,â she laughed. She glanced up at Leoâs apartment. âSo, is heâŚ?â
âSeeing anyone? Nah, he loves the single life too much for that,â you said. âWhat about you? Whatâre you doing here?â
Nikki raised the soccer ball she had had tucked under her arm. âI just came to see if he wanted to play a game or two. We tried last night, but it was pouring the rain and we were drunk, so not really a fair competition. Gotta see if I can still kick his ass or not, ya know?â
You laughed. âIâm sure you could. His pride gets to him, so heâs still easy to knock down a peg or two.â
âRight?â Nikkiâs face dropped. âOh, shit. I can go? Because you already have plans with him and allââ
Before you could say anything, the door swung open. Yours and Nikkiâs head snapped to look at him. Leo looked between the two of you, as if this perhaps was his worst nightmare. His gaze settled on Nikki first. âHey!â
Nikki smiled. God, she had a beautiful smile. You could see why Leo always had a thing for her. âHey! I just came to see if you wanted to play a few rounds?â
Leo smiled, too. A part of you wished he would smile at you like that. But that was just the schoolgirl crush talking. It was never something that could actually happen. Not when his heart still sang for Nikki, even after all these years. âYeah, Iâd love to. Let me go get my shoesââ He paused, his head snapping toward you. âWait. Actually, I alreadyââ
âWe can have dinner another time,â you said, already turning to walk away. âNot every day your best friend comes back to town, right? You can just, like, stop by the bakery when you get a chance and weâll figure it out, yeah?â
âWaitââ
âItâs no big deal, reallyââ You began to walk away, waving goodbye. âNikki, make sure you get him some ice packs, yeah? For when you bruise his ego?â
Nikki let out a laugh, waving back at you. âWill do.â
You nearly made your escape when you heard Leo mutter something to Nikki. Your heart stuttered in your chest as you heard him chase after you. Though you wanted to turn, to see if he was choosing you, you kept going. You werenât going to let him break your heart. But damn him. Damn him and his long legs and his long stride.Â
Leo quickly overtook you, stopping in front of you, his hands held out in front of him like he was taming a velociraptor in Jurassic World. âWoah, woah. Stop, hey.â
You looked back at Nikki, who was staring at the two of you. âGo, Leo. Iâm fine.â
âNo, I promised youââ
âItâs Nikki, Leo. You could never say no to her before. I wouldnât expect you to say no to her now.â
Leoâs brows furrowed together. He almost looked confused. But, how could he be? Was he really so oblivious to how he preferred Nikki over you for all those years? Did he forget in the few minutes that had passed that he was ready to ditch dinner with you to play soccer with her? Did he think you hadnât noticed all of that? âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â
âItâs obvious youâre into her. Iâm not going to get between that.â
âThereâs nothing going on between Nikki and I.â
You raised a brow. Seriously? Was he really going to route? Latching onto a technicalityâthat they werenât really together? âBut you want there to be. I mean, you have been head over heels for her since we were kids.â
âThatâs not true!â Leo almost sounded desperate, like he couldnât believe you were saying all of this. Was he this in denial about his feelings?
You fought the urge to roll your eyes. âYeah? Then how come for years you chose to be with her over me? At every field trip, you wanted to be her buddy. For every group project, you chose her. How many times did you two run off without me? Leo, you didnât even show up after my motherâs funeral because you spent the week helping Nikki look for her lost catââ
âThatâs not fairââ
âWhenever that stupid feud between your families started and you two couldnât be friends anymore, you stopped hanging out with me. I wasnât even fucking surprised by it, you know? And that maybe hurt more than you not being my friend anymore. Because you always meant more to me than I did to you. You havenât spoken to me in years, and you only did because you needed something for your Ma. Iâm not your first pick, and thatâs okay. But what isnât okay is you trying to rewrite history when you donât like being confronted with the reality.â
Leo said your name softly. He reached for you, but you took a step back. You wouldnât let him do this. You wouldnât let him hurt you.Â
You took a breath. âGo, have fun with Nikki. Forget you even promised me dinner, okay? Consider your debt forgiven.â
Leo tried to reach for you again, but you stepped around him. He turned to look at you, but you wouldnât meet his gaze. âYou mean more to me than you think.â
âBut not more than her.â You took another breath. You could feel the tears pricking at your eyes. It took everything in you to not cry. Because you wouldnât. You couldnât. Not in front of him. âLetâs just go back to the way things used to be, yeah?â
âI donât want toââ
âBut I do. I wonât play second fiddle anymore. I wonât let myself be hurt anymore.â
âI never meant to hurt you.â
âAnd that might be the worst part.âÂ
You walked away, pieces of your heart leaving a path between you and him. If this was a movie, if this was a silly little romance novel, Leo might have been standing there, trying to collect the pieces so he might put your heart back together again. But, when you were turning a corner, you spared a glance back at him.
He was walking with Nikki, an arm around her shoulders.Â
The one thing about Leo was, he listened. So when you told him you wanted things to go back to the way they used to be, you knew he would abide by that wish. And he did. The most you ever saw of Leo was when you glanced out the bakery window and happened to catch him coming in or leaving his fatherâs restaurant, or when you ordered something at Luigiâs whenever Gabbie managed to drag you out. And when you did see him, you would never meet his gaze. You didnât want to be faced with his hurt, or, worse, his indifference. It was better that you forgot the brief glimmer of hope that Leo liked you in the same way you liked him.Â
Gabbie would tell you that he was always looking your way, but you felt like she was only trying to make you feel better. Why would Leo bother himself with you? He finally had everything he could have wanted. It didnât matter that you were not a part of his life, because it had never mattered that you were not a part of his life. If it had mattered, then how could Leo have spent all these years not paying you any mind? Little Italy was little. For Leo to avoid you, he would have had to gone out of his way to do so.Â
Sometimes, though, when you were in your apartment, youâd look out the window and imagine that Leo was out there, about to confess his love for you like this was one of those cheesy rom coms you held so dearly. He was never there.
If you were honest with yourself, you were a little surprised at how much it hurt. You had been no stranger to Leoâs absence before. So why did it feel like he had ripped out your heart and stomped it? (Damn him. Damn him for giving you a glimmer of hope.)
âEat.â
Gabbie dropped a plate in front of you on the coffee table. You eyed the slice of pizza, your nose wrinkling. As you pushed the plate away, you grumbled, âSeriously? You break into my home and put pizza in front of you?â
âItâs from across town. Not even a pizzeria in Little Italy. Itâs, like, the ultimate form of rebellion.â Gabbie sat next to your curled up body on the couch and reached out to rub your back. âYou need to eat something besides the scraps at the bakery. I mean, itâs not even something healthy, so you can be in your eat-junk-and-cry spiral.â
âI would rather just be sad.â
âYou can be sad and eat.â
âAnd I havenât been crying.â
Gabbie raised a brow. She didnât look like she believed you. You could hardly blame her. Ever since that day, you had been elbows deep in a shame spiral, trying to forget the hope you felt that Leo might, just finally might, like you the way you always liked him.Â
âI havenât. Really, Gabs. I justâŚwant to watch sad movies and pretend that he never showed up at the bakery.â
âYou canât even say his name, you can admit that youâre hurtââ
Gabbie was silenced at a loud knock at your door. She looked at you, her brows furrowed together. But you had no idea who it was either. You hadnât ordered anything on lately, you hadnât ordered takeout, and you certainly hadnât invited anyone over. Gabbie was only here because she had a key to your apartment.Â
Who else could it be?
âDo you want meâ?â
You shook your head, pushing yourself up. No, you had to see this. You had to see who had the audacity to show up. You wrapped your blanket around your shoulders a little more securely and padded over to the door. As you took a deep breath, trying to prepare yourself, when another series of knocks rapped at your door. You reached for the knob, turning it slowly, and pulled the door open.Â
What stood on the other side made you want to slam the door shut again. And he seemed to know you had that very thought.Â
Leo reached out, sticking his hand out, stopping the door from shutting. âPlease.â
Your lip quivered. Fuck. You had been holding it together so well before. But now that he was here, standing in front of you, all of those emotions you were trying your damned hardest to ignore, were rising straight to the surface. But you couldnât cry. Not in front of him. Not now.Â
âI thought I told you to leave me alone.â
Leo stepped closer to you, stepping into the threshold of your apartment. Part of you wanted to push him out, kick and scream, tell him that he didnât have the right to force himself into your life, to pick you up and act like your friend when it was convenient to him. That you were a person, and you didnât deserve to be treated like that. But another part of you, the part that still hoped for good things, wanted to pretend this was your rom com moment where the guy makes a grand love confession that sparks the happily ever after.Â
âYou did. And I tried, I really did. But I missed you.â He tried to reach out for you, but you jumped out of the way. âI never wanted to hurt you. I know that doesnât make this any better, but Iâm willing to spend the rest of my life trying to get this right.â
You squeezed your eyes shut when you felt the tears start to prick. âYouâre just saying this because you feel bad. You donâtâŚLook, just go be with Nikki. Donât feel like you have to grovel or whatever for me. Iâm fine. Iâm a big girl.â
When you opened your eyes again, Leo looked like he might cry himself. ButâŚThat didnât make anything. Why would he get emotional over this? He was the one breaking your heart? âNikki isnât the one I want. I-I donât know that she ever was.â
A frown settled on your face. ThatâŚNo, that didnât make any sense. Nikki had always been the one he gravitated towards. Nikki was the one he always chose. You were just there. âI donât understand.â
Leo took a step closer to you. This time, you didnât move away. Not when he stood so close that you could feel his breath fan across your face. Not when he cradled your face in his hands. Not when his thumbs brushed away the tears that managed to fall. âIâm in love with you. I always have been.â
âB-But Nikkiââ
âWhat about her?â Leo took a breath, his eyes fluttering shut. âI thought, once, that she was who I wanted. But, I realized that I was lying to myself. Trying to trick myself into thinking I liked her because I thought she was someone I could be with. I, I never thought I was good enough for you. Youâre a fucking angel, and all Iâve ever been is a little shit. I didnât think there was a chance in hell that youâd like me back.â
You sniffled. âYou made me feel like you didnât give a shit about me, Leo. You followed Nikki around like a puppy, and the second she left for London, itâs like you were finally free of me. Like you didnât have to pretend to be my friend anymore.â
âI didnât know how to talk to you. I know thatâs no excuse, but itâs true. When Nikki was around, she was like a buffer. If I fucked up, she made sure things werenât weird. With her gone, I was scared that I would lose you. I didnât realize that I already was.â
You shook your head. âThen why were you going to ditch me to play soccer with her? Why, why did you take her back to your apartment the night she came back?â
Leoâs brows pinched together. âHow, how did you know Iâ? She was drunk and she wasnât ready to see her family yet. I offered her a place to stay. But nothing happened, I promise. She slept in my bed, I slept on the couch. Thatâs it.â
âAnd why you ditched me?â
âI was just excited to see my friend again, and I acted like a total ass. That was what I was trying to protect you from, because I knew that I would fuck up. I knew I would hurt you somehow without meaning to. Iâve been kicking myself ever since you left that day.â
You shut your eyes, leaning into his hand. You wanted to believe him. God, you wanted to so bad. âWhat took you so long to say all of this?â
âI was trying to do what you wanted. I was scared to lose you anymore that I already had.â Leo took a breath. âThen I told Nikki what happened, and she chewed my ass out. Told me I needed to get my shit together because you werenât going to be around forever. I donât want to lose you. I never did.â
You wanted to argue more. You wanted to push harder. You wanted to ask more questions. Because this didnât feel real. This was the sort of shit that only happened in movies and romance novels. This wasnât your real life. ButâŚHe was here. And he loved you.
âKiss me.â
Leoâs lips were on yours in a second. You could feel every ounce of desperation, of love, on his plush lips. He kissed you like a man running out of time. Like if he didnât do this right, he would lose you. He kissed you like he was dying and you were breathing life back into him. It was everything you ever could have dreamed of.Â
âHoly shit, this is better than a Hallmark movie.â
You jumped apart, your head whipping around. Shit. You forgot Gabbie was still there. She eyed Leo, like she still might kill him for hurting you. But then she smiled as he tried to hide his bright red face.Â
âI think you still owe her a dinner.â Gabbie pointed to the pizza still sitting on the coffee table. âSheâs starving, and refuses to eat that shit.â
Leo looked back to you, letting out a chuckle. âYou want me to make you dinner?â
âDonât let her tell you no. She hasnât been eating anything but junk all week,â Gabbie said.Â
âGabbie!â
Leoâs brows raised. âWell, we canât have that, can we? Câmon, letâs go back to my place and Iâll make you something nice, yeah?â
You smiled, reaching for his hand to hold. âI would like that very much.â
You quickly slipped on a pair of shoes and grabbed your keys, ready to leave, when Gabbie called out, âHey! If you break her heart, I get to break your neck!â
âGood to know!â Leo called back. To you, he whispered, âYour friend is scary.â
âAnd serious about the threat,â you said.Â
He gave your hand a squeeze. âWell, she doesnât have anything to worry about, because Iâm not telling you go.â

Brewing Hearts
Pairing: Professor!Remus Lupin x Professor!Reader
Plot: Tired of seeing the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor and the Arithmancy professor dancing around each other, the Weasley twins take things into their own hands with a little bit of love potion.
Warnings: fluff
__________________________________________________________
The Great Hall bustled with the usual chaos of students and the aroma of delicious food. Fred and George sat at the Gryffindor table, exchanging glances as they observed the unfolding drama between Remus Lupin and (Y/N) (L/N). The two professors were seated across the room, stealing subtle glances at each other while seemingly oblivious to the world around them.
Fred nudged George with his elbow and nodded toward the couple. "George, mate, look at them. It's like watching a Muggle soap opera, only with more awkward glances and less drama."
George chuckled, his eyes narrowing as he observed Remus and (Y/N). "I swear, Fred, if they don't do something soon, I might just hex them into confessing. It's getting painful to watch."
The twins exchanged an amused look as Remus and (Y/N) continued their dance of stolen glances. Fred leaned in, his voice lowered to a conspiratorial whisper. "I've got an idea. What if we do something about it? You know, give them a little push in the right direction?"
George's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Now, that's what I'm talking about. What's the plan, my dear brother?"
Fred leaned back, studying the couple across the hall. "We need something subtle, something that'll make them realize what they're missing. A little potion, perhaps?"
George raised an eyebrow. "A love potion?"
Fred shook his head. "Nah, too strong. We don't want them running off to elope. How about a mild infatuation potion? Just enough to make them see each other in a new light."
George grinned. "I like it. We brew it tonight, slip it into their drinks at the Yule Ball, and let the magic happen. They'll be thanking us for years to come."
And with that, the mischievous twins began plotting their matchmaking scheme, setting the stage for the events that would unfold in their secret workshop later that evening.
The Weasley twins sneaked out of the Gryffindor common room under the cover of darkness, making their way to their secret workshop hidden within the depths of Hogwarts. The passage was concealed behind a tapestry depicting a group of mischievous pixies wreaking havoc on a potions classroom. With a swish of Fred's wand, the entrance revealed itself, and the twins slipped through.
Inside the dimly lit workshop, shelves lined with jars of rare ingredients and experimental potions greeted them. Fred conjured a small flame to light the room, casting flickering shadows on the walls. The twins wasted no time as they set up their cauldrons, eager to brew the potion that would finally push Remus and (Y/N) out of their pining stupor.
George cracked his knuckles, a wicked smile playing on his lips. "Fred, mate, let's get this show on the road. We've got a date with destiny tonight."
Fred nodded, tossing a handful of powdered moonstone into a cauldron. "Absolutely, George. Let's make this potion so good, they won't know what hit them."
The twins worked in tandem, each intuitively knowing their role in the brewing process. They measured out ingredients, stirred cauldrons, and shared mischievous glances. The room hummed with an air of excitement, and a sense of accomplishment fueled their determination.
As George carefully poured a vial of crushed fireflies into the mixture, he glanced over at Fred. "You know, Fred, this feels like one of our pranks, only with a touch more subtlety. It's like setting off a dung bomb in a library and watching the chaos unfold, but with hearts instead of first-years throwing up in the bathroom."
Fred chuckled, stirring the cauldron. "Exactly, George. This is the prank to top all pranks and the best part? We're doing it for love. No harm done."
The potion began to emit a soft, enchanting glow as they added the final ingredients. The twins exchanged satisfied smiles, their plan coming together seamlessly. Fred raised his wand, tapping the cauldron with a flourish.
"There we go, George. One batch of Cupid's Secret, ready to make magic happen."
George admired their handiwork. "They won't even know what hit them. Now, let's get this bottled up and ready for the Yule Ball."
And so, with the potion completed and mischief in their hearts, Fred and George sealed the vials of Cupid's Secret, eager to unleash their concoction on the unsuspecting professors during the magical festivities of the Yule Ball.
__________________________________________________________
The Yule Ball was in full swing, the Great Hall transformed into a magical wonderland. The twinkling fairy lights above cast a warm glow over the elegantly dressed witches and wizards as they twirled around the dance floor. Remus and (Y/N) entered separately, both looking stunning in their respective outfits.
Fred and George, dressed in dapper suits that were a mix of classic and whimsical, discreetly moved through the crowd. They each carried a tray of glasses filled with punch, their eyes gleaming with anticipation. As they approached Remus and (Y/N), Fred winked at George, a silent confirmation of the mischief about to unfold.
"Care for a drink, Professor Lupin?" Fred offered with a charming smile, presenting the tray of punch.
Remus, slightly surprised, nodded in gratitude and took a glass. "Thank you, Mr. Weasley. Much appreciated."
Meanwhile, George turned to (Y/N) with a grin. "And for you, Professor (L/N)? A little something to enhance the festive spirit."
[Y/N] accepted the glass, returning George's smile. "Why, thank you, Mr. Weasley. That's very thoughtful."
The twins exchanged a quick, conspiratorial glance before blending into the crowd, leaving Remus and (Y/N) to enjoy their drinks. As the professors took sips of the enchanted punch, the subtle effects of Cupid's Secret began to take hold.
Unbeknownst to them, a gentle warmth spread through their veins, and the enchanted atmosphere of the Yule Ball seemed to intensify. Remus and (Y/N) glanced at each other, their eyes meeting in a way that felt different, charged with a newfound energy.
Fred, watching from a distance, nudged George with a sly grin. "Well, George, looks like our little potion is working its charm. Now, let's sit back and enjoy the show."
George chuckled, raising his glass in a mock toast. "To love, mischief, and a Yule Ball to remember."
And so, with their plan set in motion, the mischievous twins observed from the sidelines, eager to see how Cupid's Secret would unfold in the magical dance of the Yule Ball.
Under the soft glow of the floating candles and the enchanting ambiance of the Yule Ball, Remus and (Y/N) found themselves swept away by the subtle effects of Cupid's Secret. The love potion worked its magic, creating a warmth that seemed to linger in the air around them.
As they danced, the once hesitant glances turned into lingering stares. Remus, with a newfound confidence, gently took (Y/N)'s hand, and the dance floor seemed to fade away as they moved in perfect harmony. The atmosphere crackled with an energy that was both enchanting and irresistible.
Fred and George, hidden in the shadows, exchanged triumphant grins as they watched their plan unfold. Fred elbowed George, nodding toward the dancing couple. "Look at that, George. Our potion is doing wonders. They're practically glowing!"
George chuckled. "Our own brand of magic, right there. Who knew we had a knack for matchmaking?"
As Remus and (Y/N) twirled across the floor, the barriers that had kept them apart began to crumble. Conversations flowed effortlessly, laughter echoed through the hall, and the spark that had been lingering finally ignited into a full-fledged flame of connection.
The mischievous twins couldn't help but revel in their success. Fred whispered to George, "I told you, George, this is going to be legendary. They're like a pair of phoenixes rising from the ashes of awkwardness."
George nodded, raising his eyebrows in mock surprise. "Fred, my dear brother, we might be onto something here. Maybe we missed our true calling as love wizards."
The dance continued, and the enchanted glow of the Yule Ball seemed to intensify around Remus and (Y/N). The Great Hall buzzed with the newfound energy of romance, and the Weasley twins, hidden in the shadows, savored the moment, knowing they had orchestrated a magical night that would be remembered for years to come.
_________________________________________________________
The morning sun cast a warm glow on the Hogwarts grounds as Remus and (Y/N) found themselves walking together near the Black Lake. The events of the Yule Ball lingered in the air, creating a palpable tension between them.
Remus hesitated for a moment before breaking the silence. "About last night, (Y/N)⌠there's something we need to talk about, something that's been on my mind."
(Y/N) nodded, a mix of curiosity and concern in her eyes. "Remus, I've been thinking too. There was something⌠different about the Yule Ball, wasn't there?"
Remus took a deep breath, glancing at (Y/N) with a sincerity that seemed to cut through the uncertainty. "I can't shake the feeling that something was influencing us. The way we were drawn to each other, the warmth in the airâit wasn't just the magic of the Yule Ball, was it?"
(Y/N) sighed, realizing the truth. "No, Remus. It wasn't just the Yule Ball magic. There was something else at play. Something that brought us together, made us see each other in a new light."
As Remus and (Y/N) shared their thoughts, unbeknownst to them, Fred and George were hiding behind a large oak tree nearby. The mischievous twins exchanged knowing glances, their ears perked up to catch every word of the conversation.
Remus ran a hand through his hair, a hint of frustration in his expression. "I've been racking my brain, trying to understand what happened. And then I rememberedâFred and George offered us punch. I think they might have had something to do with it."
(Y/N)'s eyes widened in realization. "The Weasley twins? But why would they"
Remus sighed. "Knowing Fred and George, it was probably another one of their pranks. They must have slipped something into the punch to create some kind of atmosphere. I can't believe I fell for it."
(Y/N), a mixture of surprise and amusement on her face, couldn't help but chuckle. "Well, if it was a prank, it might be the best one they've ever pulled. Because, Remus, I can't deny that something changed between us last night."
Remus smiled, a genuine warmth in his eyes. "And I'm grateful for it. More than you know. The truth is, (Y/N), I've fancied you for quite some time. The Yule Ball, or rather, whatever those two put in my drink, just gave me the courage to admit it."
As the conversation unfolded, Fred and George shared a triumphant grin. Fred whispered to George, "Looks like our love potion did more than we bargained for. They're talking about it!"
George nodded. "Mission accomplished, Fred."
The mischievous twins quietly retreated, leaving Remus and (Y/N) to navigate the aftermath of the Yule Ball and the unexpected twist of fate that had brought them closer together.
In the weeks that followed the Yule Ball, the Hogwarts corridors whispered about the unexpected romance between the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor and the Arithmancy professor. Students and staff exchanged knowing glances, their curiosity piqued by the undeniable connection that seemed to have blossomed overnight.
The Weasley twins, having successfully orchestrated the tale of love, moved through the castle with an air of mischief and satisfaction. Fred grinned at George. "Our little project paid off, didn't it? Professor Lupin and Professor (L/N) are the talk of Hogwarts! I even heard McGonagall and Dumbledore talking about it."
George chuckled. "Who would've thought we'd become the puppet masters of love? We might have a future as romance consultants. Well, if the joke shop goes to hell, anyway."
As they reveled in their matchmaking success, the mischievous twins couldn't resist the occasional sly glance toward Remus and (Y/N), secretly pleased with the love story they had set in motion.
__________________________________________________________
Meanwhile, Remus and (Y/N), having navigated the revelation of the Weasley twins' involvement, found solace in the genuine connection that had sparked between them. The Yule Ball, orchestrated or not, had been a catalyst for something real and undeniable.
While sitting next to Remus on his bed in his living chambers, (Y/N) turned to Remus with a playful smile. "You know, Remus, I never thought I'd owe a debt of gratitude to the Weasley twins for anything other than a good laugh."
Remus chuckled, setting his book down, eyes filled with warmth. "They have a way of surprising us, don't they? But in a strange way, I'm grateful for whatever potion they slipped into our drinks that night. It brought us together."
(Y/N) nodded, a twinkle in her eye. "Love has a way of finding its path, even in the most unexpected circumstances. Maybe this was meant to be."
Remus smiled, pulling (Y/N) closer. "Perhaps it was. And I, for one, am glad fate brought us together, even if it took a bit of mischief to make it happen."
And so, as the whispers of love drifted through the Hogwarts corridors, Remus and (Y/N) embraced the magic that had sparked between them. The Weasley twins would never openly admit to meddling with the love potion but found joy in the newfound connection between their favorite professors. As they navigated the castle, their mischief was now tinged with a sense of smug satisfaction.

Family AU masterlist
You feel so tired. Body aches and eyes hurt - you barely managed to fall asleep tonight, keeping your husband awake too to coax you into a state of slumber. This also added emotional stress, the clawing guilt for depriving him of sleep right before such a meaningful and happy day, but the man kept lovingly reassuring you that he didn't mind and would support and comfort you always, especially now, when you are so vulnerable, just days away from welcoming your baby into this world.
Diluc was nothing but a saint throughout both of your pregnancies. However, while the first one was challenging for him too, because he was worried about the new role he'd have to fulfill and if he'd do it successfully, this one was easier on his end, so he channeled all his energy to you, being there for every step and every time you got overwhelmed, which, at first, happened way too often. Your other two kids used to be all over you asking questions about their unborn sibling, and while you love your angels to death, you truly do, - your hormones and their vigor sometimes created a bad mix. Luckily, it quickly got better, because Diluc took his time to explain to your boys why their mommy might be emotional or look really really tired, and that she isn't upset with them and they need to be more careful around her. After that, the three of them became your anchor, with boys cuddling to you quietly to soothe and console you every opportunity they had, and Diluc arranging everything for your utmost comfort.
With all of this you were determined to make this year's celebration of his birthday as amazing as every other you two shared. You weren't sure if you would have given birth already or still heavily pregnant when the 30th of April came, but you knew that in any outcome you'd be too exhausted to arrange anything. That is why you started your meticulous planning half-way into your pregnancy. Everything was a secret from Diluc, just as always, and he oh so tenderly smiled, whenever you tried to hide the notes you were making, only teasing you by stepping closer and hugging you from behind. But he was a fair man, he never glanced at your scribbles and plans, only burying his face in your hair and asking to stay like this with you and the baby for a little bit. It actually helped you to concentrate a little bit better.
In March the final version of your plan was already passed to the maids who'd be responsible for organizing and decorating, and you couldn't help but feel pride when they giggled and excitedly murmured upon checking your instructions. You did a great job.
But you must've also done something bad, if whatever gods of fertility above made it their goal to mess with your sleep schedule - the baby is way too active, keeping you awake at an ungodly hour, just like tonight. So exhaustingâŚ
You can feel movements behind your back and a moment later a pleasant warmth is spreading all over your stomach and back. A soft whine escapes your lips, but itâs quickly shushed by a quiet murmur next to your ear.
âShh⌠My flame, itâs okay, I got youâŚâ You hug a pillow in front of you tighter, burying your face in it, letting your husband cuddle to your back, keeping his palm spread over your bump. He always knows when the baby gets cranky, sometimes even before you feel it, ready to calm down both of you with the help of his presence and vision.
Pretty soon you feel comfy again, surrounded by pillows and a literal heater of a man, who peppers soft kisses along your bare shoulder. His heavy bangs tickle your skin, prompting the corner of your lips to twitch in a shadow of a smile; an arm, wrapped around your middle, doesnât put any weight on your waist, perfectly controlled by sheer strength of its owner; his whole body becomes support to your back instead of a long pillow he removed previously to take its place and he playfully nudges your feet when you attempt to tangle your legs with his.. Oh, you love this man.
Suddenly a loud noise from the outside worms its way into your lulled conscience, and you flinch. Slowly your eyelids slide open and you groan quietly, ears catching a dissatisfied huff from the male beside you.
âI told them to be carefulâŚâ Diluc grumbles under his breath, but doesnât leave his spot next to you, only lifting his hand slightly and starting to rub your stomach in soothing circles.
âMmm⌠What time is it?â Pushing the pillow away you rub at your eyes, yawning. Your husband cranes his neck to look at the wall behind and hums.
âA little past ten.â
âTen..? Oh noâŚâ With a pout you kick some other pillows (and accidentally his legs) too, stifling another yawn with your hand. âI was supposed to wake up earlier for your special day⌠I am sorry I slept for so long.â
âNonsense,â he digs his elbow in a mattress and lifts his upper body to reach for your cheek, smothering it with pecks. âYou are nine months pregnant, my love. I wouldâve let you sleep all day long, if I didnât know you worked hard to make today exceptional for me.â
âOhâŚâ You sigh, finally blinking the sleep, that was clinging to your eyelids, off and throw an arm behind you, rolling your back a little, practically placing yourself on your husband, stretching with a content noise. Diluc sees an opportunity to wrap both arms around you, and carefully draw you even more on top of himself, face hidden in the side of your neck.
âArchons, you are pretty,â the heat engulfs your heart, born from his adoring tone, and spreads in tender waves through your whole being.
âDonât you dare say having me in your arms is enough of a present for you,â your chiding makes him smile and shake his head.
âAs much as thatâs true, I wonât, for your sake,â you squint like a cat under the sun, when he places a kiss under your jaw. âAre you ready to get out of bed? Half an hour ago when I came downstairs, and immediately got kicked out by Adelinde, I managed to catch a glimpse of Kaeya and our sons. I am sure Callie and her mom have joined them by now too.â
âOh, thatâs great!â You widely smile, sleep forgotten as if the need in it was always non-existent. âYes, I want to start getting ready. Please, help me, âluc.â
âWith greatest pleasure.â
Letting the Alberich family spend the night was one of your greatest decisions made in preparations for Dilucâs birthday. There is no way to guess when throughout the day you might feel light-headed or tired, so them being at the Winery from the very morning till the very evening increases the chances to get an opportunity when all of you can enjoy the celebration together.Â
When you descend down the stairs, with Diluc practically glued to your sight, holding your arm to support, Kaeyaâs face is the first one you spot among the others. He looks absolutely cozy with his pajama-like-looking pants, matching shirt and a knee-long robe, hanging on his shoulders untied. His face lights up with a smile, when his eye lands on you two, and he hands one of the maids nearby the box heâs been holding previously.
âArenât these our dear birthday boy and his lovely wife?â His voice is smooth, never lacking his ever-present teasing lilt, as he makes his way to you.
âDonât make it look like you see me for the first time today,â Diluc grumbles, letting go of your hand, so you could give your brother-in-law a side hug.
âOh? I am sorry, Diluc, but could I really tell Adelinde not to kick you out? My charms do not work on this amazing woman.â
âBecause this woman raised you and is immune to said charms,â the woman in question appears behind the Cavalry Captain, with a sweet smile plastered on her face. âCome on, go help your wife - I donât doubt she is skilled, but three kids are still a handful.â
âHaha, arenât you subtle? If I didnât know how much you adore me, Iâd say you are kicking me out,â the star-shaped pupil twinkles with concealed merit, to which the head maid tenderly scoffs.
âGotta make it even between the brothers,â she teases him back, and he gasps in pretense hurt, to which Diluc rolls his eyes, but a smug-looking smile doesnât escape your sight.
âSure, sure,â Kaeya jerks his chin up, still faking the offense, and turns around to leave. The woman shakes her head at his antics, short blond hair gently swaying, complimenting the fond look on her face. With one of her boys gone, she devotes her attention to the other, smiling apologetically.
âI am sorry for shoving you out the way I did, Master Diluc, but Lady Y/n really wanted to be here when you came to witness what she had planned for you. I hope you can forgive me for forbidding you from the first floor of your own house.â
âI can never be mad at you,â Dilucâs lips form a small smile as well, and he steps closer, gingerly embracing her. âAfter all, you raised me too.â
The older woman chuckles, patting his back, and your gaze softens. Every year you get lucky to see this display of special motherly affection, the one where you get sad a little, because your child grows older, further and further from the little boy you used to know and take care of, but you still are so happy for how far he managed to come. Thatâs what Adlindeâs face tells you every single year, those are the tears of joy that are brimming her summer-green eyes.
âAdelinde,â you softly call and she glances at you, with her arms still wrapped around her masterâs, her kidâs broad back. âI havenât had an opportunity to congratulate my husband yet, would you like to be the first this year?â
Vibrant eyes slightly widen, and then unspoken affection swirls in them.
âThank you,â your heart skips a beat, crumbling under the sincerest gratitude the woman offers you for simply giving her such an opportunity.
She turns to Diluc again, and a small, delicate hand reaches up to brush away the fiery bangs that got even wilder as the man got older. A thumb runs over his cheekbone, feeling a small scar underneath, remembering, comparing to the pouty rosy cheek of a little boy, who used to cling to her skirt and seek her attention and advice, with that adorable sparkle in his warm ruby eyes and a wide grin with a tooth missing. Now a tall man is standing in front of her, who suffered many losses and hardships she couldnât possibly protect him from, but who eventually found his happiness and found it in himself to fully enjoy it.
And thatâs all she ever wished for him.
âHappy birthday, my boy,â her voice trembles with emotions, but she manages to get a hold of herself. The other hand comes to cup his other cheek and tilt his head down, so, standing on her toes, she could place a lingering kiss to his forehead. âHappy thirty eighth year of your life, my dawn. I am so proud of how far youâve come and I wish for nothing more, but for your happiness to grow. I know your father would tell you the same.â
Oh, Archons. That last phrase made you emotional, hitting your poor heart even harder than the tender exchange between the two. And seeing the look on your husbandâs face, the quiet hitch of his breath, the slight tremble of his lower lip and unspoken yearning in his flaming eyes, you have to silently excuse yourself from the scene, too scared to ruin the moment by your very possible waterworks. Youâll let the two have their moment, meanwhile you can see what your sons and brother-in-lawâs family is up to.
You find the five of them in a separate room, which was long ago reconstructed and redecorated into something akin to a living room (additional wall was added to divide the hall part from this space to grant you and kids privacy if any partner of Diluc stopped by to discuss the matters with either him or Elzer). Both boys and the girl are sitting on the carpet-covered floor, vigorously discussing something - you even catch the pieces of the argument theyâve been having for months. Ever since the twinsâ father agreed to consider getting them a dog, they and their older cousin could not shut up about what name the creature should have. At first it was cute, now itâs the reason for a headache, when the three of them cannot reach an agreement.
But the childish debate is quickly tuned out when you recognize the adorable new two-piece indoor outfits you purchased specifically for today. Your older son has the sleeves of his orange pullover rolled while he wildly gesticulates, the usual unruly mass of his untied hair swaying from side to side like a flame turned upside down. Lucas on the other hand has his cheek supported by his fist with an elbow digging in his knee, clad in yellow pants, and watches his brother and cousin with an 'I am so done with them' look, so uncommon for a six-year old, that it almost makes you snort. Callie, wearing similar in style pants and pullover, but sharing a pretty blue color with her father, is actively arguing with Rufus, however there is something different from the redhead's pure decisiveness. There are clearly some hints of Kaeya's mannerism, especially that quirk of her lips. What a cheeky twelve-year old.
âY/n!â
Your attention is quickly drawn to the smiling woman, who is rising from the couch sheâs been sharing with her husband just seconds ago. Mirroring her smile, you swiftly rub your eyes, getting rid of happy tears, caused by a scene at the bottom of the stairs.
âAre you okay?â Concern is laced in your friendâs tone, as she walks to you and puts her palms on your elbows in a comforting gesture. You only shake your head, making a small step closer, so you can give her a hug.
âYeah, yeah, I am good, donât worry. Just saw something very heart-warming.â
âOh, alright,â she sighs in relief. âAre you hungry?"
Good question, actually. You concentrate on what your body feels and craves, softly rubbing your belly. No, still only the aching and ever-present fatigue.
"Not necessarily, but if you all haven't eaten yet, we can do it now. Diluc should soon join us, and after breakfast we can start our stay-inside party."
Your friend nods in agreement, squeezing your elbows affectionately, and then turns to look at the three kids still sitting on the floor, so engrossed in their conversation that they seem to not have even noticed you enter.
"Hey, kids,â only Lucas perks up at his auntâs call, while Rufus and Callie keep arguing, ignoring everything around them. âKids,â is said firmer, but still to no avail. As the younger twin gets up from the floor, you share a knowing look with the woman.
âCallie Alberich.â
âRufus Ragnvindr.â
And as if by magic the conversation is cut short, two sets of worried eyes staring back at the unamused-looking moms.
âGood, we finally have your attention,â Mrs Alberich hums, taking your hand and leading you to the armchair, helping you to sit down. âNow, whoâd be a dear and go to the kitchen to let the maids know they can serve breakfast?â
âI will, mom,â the girl says before Rufus can open his mouth and carefully pushes him and his brother in your direction. âYou two, go say hi to your mama.â
Kaeyaâs eye twinkles, when he easily guesses his daughterâs intentions, but keeps his mouth shut, watching his nephews practically sprint to their mom and climb onto the armrests.
âShe went to congratulate uncle Diluc, didnât she?â His wife quietly asks, taking a seat next to him, and the man only chuckles, wrapping an arm around her waist, bringing her even closer. Yeah, his girl really likes her uncle, adores even, which has been absolutely mutual from the moment the redhead was handed the small baby to hold for the first time. The Dawn Winery owner has always played an important role in the girlâs life, and before his sons were born, the man was absolutely wrapped around his nieceâs finger. She doesnât remember that, of course, but she does remember how she begged for cousins, and feels very proud of the fact, claiming that itâs because of her request uncle and aunt now have two cute boys, whom she really-really loves and enjoys spending time with, despite being twice as old as them.
But uncle is still her favorite out of the whole Ragnvindr family. So getting first to the man and wishing him a happy birthday is an absolute must.
âI am sure she wonât forget about breakfast,â Kaeya hums eventually, focusing on his sister-in-law and nephews, who, in their orange and yellow costumes paired with the color of their hair, remind him of two little candlelights.
âI love the cozy style you decided on for the clothes,â he comments, drawing your attention from twins, who settled against the sides of your stomach, resting their heads on your shoulders.
âReally?â An excited smile worms its way onto your face. âI am glad you think so! I thought they were perfect for spending the day inside."
"They are!" Mrs Alberich claps her hands together. "I adore this pretty dress and yours looks so wonderful too! The fabric is very soft, when I put it on this morning I thought I was hugged by a fluffy cloud. Oh, what color does Diluc have by the way?"
"Papa has gray" Rufus chimes, before reaching out to your stomach to gently pat it. "Mama, did you get the baby one too?"
"I did, Ru," you reassure him, remembering the cute white onesie you decided to purchase on a whim to match the vibe. "Soon she or he will be able to wear it."
"Speaking of the baby, you've never told us the name you picked. Is that a secret?"
"It really isn't,â your tone is soft, and your gaze is tender, as you look down at your belly. âWe do have a small list, but our decision was to choose when the baby is born. We agree on every name on that list, and Diluc believes it's just going to click which one is perfect when we see them, just like it happened with these two," you turn your head from side to side, kissing each boy's cheek, making them squeal happily. In reality it was a little bit different.Â
Obviously you didn't expect to have twins, so your list was created on the basis of eventually picking only one name. But when there appeared to be two babies, two little boys, everything had to be reconsidered. You and your husband (surprisingly more him than you) thought it'd be cute if there was something that would show their twinly bond. That's when it clicked quickly - Diluc came up with Rufus and you did so with Lucas, affectionately calling them Ru and Lu. This time you also considered different kinds of name combinations for possible outcomes, but ultimately decided to let the future tell.
"Okay, that's fair," Kaeya smiles, putting his cheek on top of his wife's head - the woman made herself comfortable on his shoulder, watching you and your sons with a sweet smile of her own. "Promise to invite us over when you feel strong enough to have visitors to meet another member of the Ragnvindr family?"
"Of course, I promise, Kae. And you'll be the first ones to kno- aaah!"
Everyone in the room jumps when a sharp cry of discomfort escapes you. Unwrapping your arms from around the twins, you lean forward and clutch your stomach. Surprised, the boys get down onto the floor and move right in front of you, worry evident on their faces. You mean to reach out to comfort your babies, to reassure him, but another surge of pain prevents you from doing so, and you groan, hands still on the stomach. Kaeya is next on his feet, closely followed by his wife, and just a second later the man scoops both redheads in his arms, while your female friend crouches before you, with both palms on your knees.
"Kaeya, boys - out. I'll handle it."
"But mama is hurt-," Lucas tries, not taking his eyes off of your curled figure, as his brother attempts to wrestle his way out of his uncleâs hold. Both look panicked, and the Cavalry Captain has to gently shush both of them, pressing their bodies even closer to his chest..
âDonât worry, she is alright and she will be alright when we return, okay? Now, letâs go and find your father-â
âOh.â
The man stumbles over his words, hearing a surprised noise, and immediately glances up at you, met with an expression of total disbelief.
âArchons, what is it? Y/n, please, donât scare us like tha-â
âI think my water just broke.â
He barely holds himself back from cursing in front of his little nephews. His wife, on the other hand, is as cool as a cucumber, absolutely unphased, with not even an ounce of worry present on her face or in her actions. She rises from her crouched position and turns to look at her husband, who in a second became an anxious wreck, as if it is his beloved who is having contractions.
âLove,â she speaks calmly, âtake the boys, find Callie and Diluc and get the kids ready to go out for a walk. Also ask someone to inform the midwife that Y/n has possibly gone into labor. And for the Sevenâs sake, donât dump this information onto your brother as if someone is dying, we donât need a panicked dad right now.â
âGot it,â his legs start moving even before he thinks about it, and with two boys held in a death grip, Kaeya runs out of the room. He startles a couple of maids in the hall, along with Diluc, whoâs just walked out of the kitchen, holding his nieceâs hand. The hero of todayâs occasion lifts his eyebrows, staring at the disheveled form of his brother, and an uneasy feeling starts rising in his chest when he notices the barely concealed panic in his periwinkle eye.
âKaeya, whatâs going on?â
âOkay, birthday boy, I need you to stay calm no matter what I tell you now, alright?"
"Are you sure you are the one to tell me to stay calm?" Red brows meet together in an alarmed manner. "What's gotten into you? Where are our wives?"
Another sharp cry, easily recognised as yours, is heard from the living room, and in a quieted hall everyone is finally becoming aware of something going on, something very unplanned.
"Um, so, as I said, stay calm, 'luc. However hard it is to believe, your wife mightâve gone into labor.â
âWhat!?â
Loud gasps of the maids fall almost deaf to Dilucâs ears when he hears the news. Immediately one of the girls chirps that sheâll go find the midwife and quickly scurries away, while two more run upstairs to go and check the room specifically prepared for such an occasion. Someone steps up and takes Callie, bringing her with Kaeya and twins somewhere else, but honestly, the redhead doesnât notice it. The only thing his mind keeps repeating is that his wife needs him.
When he bursts into the living room youâve already gotten onto your feet, one hand gripping Mrs Alberichâs shoulder and the other pressed to your stomach. The grimace on your face and heavy breathing is an evidence itself of your state, and Diluc appears at your side in a flash of gray and crimson, wrapping an arm around your back.
âMy flame, keep breathing. Everything is alright,â his deep voice is comforting and you lean your forehead into his chest, whimpering.
You nod, letting go of your friendâs shoulder, and Diluc takes it as an opportunity to lift you in his arms - there is no way heâs making you walk, especially when the point of your destination is the second floor. You do not even complain, instead focusing on trying to relax the best you can, exercising proper breathing and counting.
âI am so sorry, âluc. I wanted this day to be special and now I am ruining itâŚâ
âNo, you are not,â he says firmly, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. âRather you are making it even more special. I know you worked hard, but I also know that all of it wonât go anywhere and weâll have a moment to enjoy it properly afterwards. You are much more important right now, so letâs get you to the bedroom.â
Kaeya was right - it is hard to believe. Of course, itâs not clear yet, it still could be just false labor pains, but never in his entire life could Diluc imagine that one of his kids would be born on the same day he was. When he lays you down onto the bed with pristine white sheets and lets the midwife examine you, the heart in his chest is going absolutely crazy. He canât bear to see that painful look on your face, how your pretty eyes squint and teeth are gritted, but he will rather fall dead in that same room, than leave it, leave you without his support.Â
You lift your hand and reach for him. Someone pushes a chair closer and he sits down, grasping your sweating hand with both of his and suddenly a memory flashes before his eyes. Itâs been twenty years and he thought he has healed, but the rainy day and a manâs big hand he was clasping in his own come back to haunt him. His mind starts screaming. What if something goes wrong? What if he loses someone dear to him again? What if itâs the last time he feels the warm touch of the person who brought him out of his misery? What if itâs the last time he hears your voice and the distressed tone of it is what heâll remember you like? Please, no, whoever is listening, donât do it, donât take you and the baby away from him, please, don't-
âDiluc,â his eyes snap open and he becomes painfully aware that he is shaking. But it's not about him, despite what day it is today. Right now everything is about you.Â
Inhaling deeply and sharply exhaling, he blinks away the images of the past and focuses on your face instead. Itâs not twisted in pain now, instead you are smiling at him, the adoration in your eyes unmistakable and the squeeze you give his fingers is sobering.
âDid you hear that? Itâs actually happening. My water actually broke. Our baby will be here soon. I canât promise I wonât curse you back and forth like during the first time, but Iâll really try.â
At that moment, pushing the dread aside and leaning forward to press a sweet reassuring kiss to your lips, the man thinks that if it was legally allowed heâd marry you again.
Itâs been a couple of hours since the Alberich couple left the Winery with all of the kids. It took Kaeya awhile to calm the boys down, while Callie remained uncharacteristically quiet, glancing at her mom from time to time, because her mother always knows what is going on, but this time, for some reason, isn't telling her.
Eventually both adults managed to persuade the three of them that they are on a mission to get some lovely flowers for Diluc and you - they made sure to pick different kinds that do not grow together for the process to take more time. Fortunately, it brought smiles back onto those cute little faces, and the couple let out a sigh of relief, watching their daughter and nephews, as the group went from one location to another. Lucas, being a dear he is, suggested that mom and dad deserved the biggest bouquets ever and Rufus doubled it, so now they are indeed on a mission to gather as many flowers as they can.
Making a pretty big circle, the five of them returned close to the Winery - but not quite. Settling near the Statue of the Seven, Kaeya stays to watch over the kids picking up windwheel asters and guard the bouquets theyâve already managed to create. The location allows him to oversee the vast grounds that belong to the Ragnvindr family, but also observe his wifeâs figure getting smaller and smaller, but closer and closer to the main building. It was decided that soon everyone would get hungry, so she went to bring some food, but also to check on the situation at hand.
The sun hangs high in the sky and Kaeya squints in delight, letting the warm rays caress his face. Ah, what a wonderful day⌠With a puff of air he sits down and immediately lays his back on the soft ground, cracking his eye open. Not a cloud in sight, only the magnificent blue hues surrounding the brightest star, thatâs the sight his brother deserves to have on his birthday - what a pity he canât see it, stuck inside due to unplanned, though long-awaited, circumstances.
It is a perfect day for the twinsâ sibling to be born, and for a brief moment a thought passes the Cavalry Captainâs mind - that maybe itâs the final step for Diluc to heal from all the pain and sorrow that whole 18th birthday situation caused him. Of course, itâs hard to tell, it was a seemingly endless nightmare after all, but he hopes for it, for this bundle of joy that is the redhead's third child to overshadow the loss of their father on this exact date.
Deep in his thoughts he doesnât notice how Rufus comes closer, dividing equally the amount of flowers heâs gotten, putting one half in his dadâs pile and the other in momâs one. Then he steps even closer, casting a small shadow across his uncleâs chest. Kaeya snaps out of it only when he feels a soft nudge, head turning and seeing that the boy carefully pushed the tips of his sandal against the lying manâs ribcage.
âWhat is it, Ru?â His voice sounds a bit lazy, but at least there is not even a hint of his initial panic - worry would only provoke the twins to feel concerned about the scene in the living room all over again, and he doesn't want that, their parents wouldn't want that.Â
The little flame in front of him watches closely with wide eyes, which in combination with wild red hair makes him look like a fluffed up owlet.
Totally Dilucâs kid.
âWe picked a lot of flowers⌠When are we coming home? I wanna see mama and papa. And also Iâm hungryâŚâ
âYeah, dad, me too,â Callie pops behind her cousin, staring at Kaeya with bright eyes. Sheâs holding a mix of windwheel asters and sweet flowers, and the keen dark eye spots a small ladybug crawling up one of the stems. Equally small white lie wouldn't hurt.
âYour aunt is setting an additional surprise right now,â yeah, thatâs literally the best explanation he can give them, âbut this one takes time, and we need to be patient for her, okay?â
âBut if itâs a surprise, why did Uncle Diluc stay? Doesnât make sense,â His daughter is too sharp sometimes, but thatâs why he is proud of her.
âThis one requires his presence, so she doesnât have to worry about messing up. I believe youâll like it, so letâs give them time. As for the lunch - our precious Snowflake will soon bring us something to eat.â
âDonât call mom that in front of me,â Callie grumbles, kicking his hip, and the man gasps, hand immediately flying to grab the assaulted place.
âBut snowflakes are pretty!â Lucas, who appeared somewhen during the conversation, stares at the older girl in confusion. âThey are very pretty and have unique forms⌠Your mom is pretty and unique too!â
âI know she is, but sometimes itâs just argh. Oh! Doesnât your father call your mother âmy flameâ?â
âYes, he does,â Rufus confirms with a nod, sitting down onto the ground. Kaeya turns onto his side, ignoring the dull pain and supports his cheek with a fist. Well, this is amusing~
âDonât you find it a little too much sometimes?â Both twins shake their heads, red bangs bouncing with the motion, and the girl sighs in exasperation. âWait till you are as old as I am, youâll realize how cringe it is.â
âWhatâs âcringeâ?â
Kaeya snorts. Itâs funny when a twelve-year old speaks of her age with such intonation. It never ceases to amaze him how well his daughter adapted in the role of an older sibling to her cousins. She quickly realized her leading position and it was and still is very clear in her attitude, especially right now, as she is educating them on the meaning of the word 'cringe'. She cares for them a lot though, so he can hardly find a situation where she abused her power in the dynamic the three of them have. Besides, both Rufus and Lucas are far from stupid - probably ones of the brightest kids heâs ever had encounters with, and already have their opinions, so despite loving and admiring Callie they still can fight her back verbally. The only difference is that this is Rufusâ style of handling arguments with her, while Lucas prefers more tranquil approaches. Watching the three interact, Kaeya can't help but wonder what kind of personality would the baby develop.
Ah, itâs going to get so much livelier~
Itâs another half an hour, during which he sneakily stole the spotlight from his girl and entertained the kids with made-up, but attention-grabbing stories. His wife's arrival catches them all by surprise - just like everything else about her, as she shouts their names and waves at them the best she can with a basket hanging off of her elbow. She is not alone though. With delight overtaking their expressions, kids spot the most loving and kind (obviously favorite) maid at her side holding the rest of the baskets Mrs Alberich couldnât carry on her own. Kaeya hasn't even sat up yet, and the kids are already speeding in her direction.
âAddieeeee!â
Overjoyed, in an instant they are all over her and the woman gently laughs, settling down the baskets and staying in a crouched position to hug all of them. As she is telling them to help her with unfolding the blanket, Kaeya rises to his feet, right in time to put his arms loosely around his wife's waist to press a kiss to the corner of her mouth.
"Thanks for the food and bringing additional help," he murmurs, smooching her again and taking the baskets away. Freed arms encircle his neck and soft lips press against his in return, stealing the man's breath away.
"Don't mention it. Adelinde figured we might need her, and she is right, personally I am at my wit's end," she sighs, glancing behind to make sure the kids are occupied with the task the head maid gave them. "As for the news - everything is going smoothly so far, but it'll take some more hours. Other maids suggested visiting Springvale or maybe going to the City, and I agree."
"Yes, that sounds reasonableâŚ" Kaeya hums, inwardly admitting that some remaining weight has just been lifted off of his shoulders. "You think we'll have to return in the morning orâŚ?"
"No. Before we left, Adelinde checked in with Diluc - apparently he'll send his falcon to deliver a message once everything is over."
Ah, yes⌠the falcon his brother personally trained once again just a couple of years ago after the passing of his very first winged companion. And once again Kaeya was that one person the bird will always find, no matter where he is.
"Delightful. Then let us have our lunch. What you've got there, hm?"
"What was supposed to be put for the celebratory breakfast we all missed. It'd be such a pity if the food went to waste, wouldn't it?"
"True," the Cavalry Captain sighs and, adjusting his hold on the baskets, leads both of them to the rest of their little group. âWhat a chaotic morningâŚâ
The drawn together heavy curtains do not let a ray of a settling sun into the quiet room. The crimson painting the sky is undoubtedly beautiful, mesmerizing even, but no one dares to disturb your rest with a blazing color. The smell of freshly cleaned bedding is appeasing, but the fluffed up pillows that have the scent of your husband clinging to them is your main source of comfort - you faintly remember it, but you are sure of nearly snarling at whoever suggested changing the linen for them too before bringing you to the masterâs bedroom. Poor maid mustâve been so scared, youâll have to apologize to her laterâŚ
The slight guilt sparked by the memory is what makes you pass the line between dream and consciousness. You force your heavy eyelids open, but immediately squint a little from the light of the candles on the walls. A soft groan escapes your throat and you drop your head to the side, hiding from the light and blinking to make the eyes adjust. Succeeding in it, you take a quick look around the room, wondering if you were left alone to repose, or someone remained to monitor your condition.
Thatâs when you spot him. Or rather the gorgeous mane of ruby hair, shiny in the candlelight, thrown in a proper high ponytail, streaming down his upper back. Heâs changed his clothes too - there is a hazy recollection of someone telling him to go and do so, and what a nice view it is, to see the gray pajama pants and pullover to be replaced with dark cherry - almost blackish - shirt, carmine vest and dark pants. But thatâs not the most pleasing sight. Your heart almost melts, when the standing man turns around and you see a bundle of blankets delicately held in his strong arms. Vibrant eyes show every single emotion Diluc feels, looking at your baby. There is pure joy, happiness, bliss, love, promises to protect, to care, to cherish, to make every single day of life important and special. Itâs so similar to the scene of nearly seven years ago, but without your husband bawling his eyes out with both arms occupied by twins. Well, maybe he did, a little, when you were resting, but youâll never know.
You observe them for a little longer, the picture so perfect, you regret not having a Kamera in your hands right now to imprint a moment in a photo. Though you doubt youâd have strength to lift the thing enough to snap one and not make it blurry, so, just watching would suffice for now.
However Dilucâs senses are sharp, and when someone stares at him for longer than a couple of seconds - he knows. The warmth of the tamed flames seeps right through the eye contact, penetrating every cell in your body with welcomed heat. That may be the trick of the light, but his dark pupils dilate upon looking at you, and the blush creeps to your cheeks. Damn this man and him giving you looks like you are the whole world.
âHey, love,â you softly call, the sound blending into the tender atmosphere, becoming a part of it, becoming Dilucâs source of oxygen for a brief second.
âHello, my flame,â his voice can hardly mask the adoration and eagerness, with which he takes his next actions, makes it clear how excited he was for you finally awakening. With light steps he moves to the bed and carefully bends down. The touch of his lips is gentle, yet the feeling hidden behind it steals your breath away and your own lips part. Diluc murmurs something about wanting to give you so many kisses to compensate for the hours you spent in labor, and you breathlessly laugh at his adorable confession.
âItâs alright, âluc. Besides you are such a beautiful sight for a sore eye, how can I complain when my husband is all dressed up for me?â
âOh, my flame,â his tone is oh so silken. âYou are the beautiful one here. You looked so serene in your sleep, and now you shine like the brightest star.â
âOh, stop that, I am sure I look like hell.â
âNot at all,â he shakes his head, long and fluffy bangs barely swaying. âYou are wonderful. But how are you feeling? Need anything? Maybe youâd like to rest a bit more? Iâll take care of everything for you.â
You know he will, and this is one of the reasons that make him a great husband and an amazing father.
âNo, no, I am fine, I feel better. Itâs finally over. Our son is here.â
Yes, your son is here. Are you surprised itâs a boy again? Not really, there always was a gut feeling your older sons would have a little brother as their sibling, and by the red hairs you spotted when the baby was passed to you for the first time there is now a solid confirmation that Ragnvindr genes are insane.
âI want to hold him. May I?â
Without answering your question directly, Diluc carefully places the baby on the free space on the bed and helps you to adjust the pillows and sit up. Then the boy is instantly in your arms and Diluc kicks his shoes off to climb next to you. The sides of your heads touch, and you smile when his big hand is placed under yours, to provide additional support.
Your son is sleeping. So tiny and wrapped in all those blankets he is so peaceful. You swallow harshly to fight the tears back and shakily sigh, rapidly blinking. Rough fingers move your hairs away from your face and lovingly caress your cheek, reminding you that everything is okay.
âYou did so well, my love⌠You are incredible, you know that?â
A choked chuckle erupts from your mouth and you sniffle.
âI am, am I not? But itâs also a miracle that he decided to come out right on your birthday.â
The man presses the firmest kiss heâs given you this evening to your temple and wraps his free arm around your shoulders, bringing you even closer. The thumping of his heart is palpable and makes you want to cry again.
âYou knowâŚâ lifting your head, you come face to face with your husband, and there is a smile playing on his lips, one that is both bright and a bit melancholic. âNow there is one more reason to look forward to my birthday. To celebrate mine with you all and to celebrate his like that too.â
âOh, we can have two parties!â You beam, closing your eyes and picturing it in your head. âYours would be obviously in the morning, and his would be in the evening- oh, Ru and Lu would be so delighted to have two cakes to eat instead of one,â you share a soft laugh. Which actually reminds youâŚ
âHave you sent anyone to notify them they can come home? I feel so bad that they had to spend your birthday away from youâŚâ
âDonât worry, dear. The message has been delivered and they should soon be here. And there is always tomorrow to start with the party all over again. I believe it was a smart decision to get kids out of the house. You know how protective twins are around you - they wouldâve worried themselves out of their minds.â
You have to admit that Diluc is right - no need for your boys and niece to hear you scream and curse whoever was present for hours, and you can trust the Alberich family to keep them safe and entertained.
âWell then, if everything else is settled, my heart and mind are at peace⌠But we still have one important thing to do. The name. And before we go down the list, may I suggest something, please?â
âYou are the mother, you have the most say in it,â his words make you lift an eyebrow at him, yet he only smiles. Shaking your head you poke your nose into his cheek.
âWhat a gentleman you areâŚ"
"That's what my dad told my mom," he says as if in his defense. "And I agree with him on that one - after all, it's you who carried him for nine months and kept him healthy."
"Alright, alright, I could speak of all the ways you provided for me so I could do that, but I know you won't accept this kind of praise. Okay, I will have a say in it," Diluc scoffs, but you only give him a teasing wink. "Speaking of your parents, remember how you told me that your mother chose the name âDilucâ, because you were born in the early hours of dawn?â He nods, fondness reflecting in his eyes. âShe also did it, because your fatherâs name means âtwilightâ, âduskâ and she wanted them to match, right?â He nods again, but this time itâs confusion and a bit of hurt that are hiding behind his crimson pools of fire. Still holding the baby, you do your best to interlace your fingers with his, still supporting your hand, and the redhead takes notice of it, helping you, until there is a nice hold on each other's digits.
Swallowing thickly you take a deep breath to calm your nerves. Diluc would never be mad at you, but what you are going to suggest next is pretty huge.
"It's not on the list, but I took interest in this one when we were researching. The main meaning of this name is 'Sun'. However, there were languages that gave it a slightly different meaning, let's say, time-specific? And now, since our son was born on the 30th of April and almost at sunset, I thought that this one might be perfect. It's⌠It's Cyrus. And it can have the meaning of 'dusk', 'twilight', just like your father's name does."
The clock on the wall is ticking and that's the only sound in the room. You can barely hear your hearts beating or air entering and leaving your lungs, but your mind is in a race against itself, and you start second-guessing that maybe giving him a big reminder about that day was a mistake. Dilucâs been healing, you know that, youâve been here all these years to witness his progress and be proud of him, but it still must hurt. His silence is worrying, but despite your own nervousness you give him time to process, to let the thought sink in and register what exactly you are implying.
You spend a few minutes quietly. Your husband never loosens his hold on your shoulders, and it soothes you when his thumb starts rubbing over your knuckles absent-mindedly. His warm breath caresses your skin, lulling your alerted senses to the point of tranquility, and you sigh audibly, lowering your head on his shoulder. And then you finally hear him speak again.
âCyrus⌠Itâs a lovely name. I⌠I really like it. No, I love it.â
âYeah?â A soft murmur of your question sends a wave of delight to the manâs swelling heart. âYou do?â
âI do. I think itâs perfect. ButâŚare you really sure you want to honor my father?â
âHe meant a lot to you, âluc,â you straighten up and turn to have a better view of the redhead. There are unshed tears clinging to his thick lashes and he doesnât even blink, looking down at your son. âListen, my love,â carefully sliding one hand from beneath the babyâs body you bring it to Dilucâs cheek, making him face you, making him gulp and lean into your open palm, âI too think itâs perfect, and maybe, just maybe, the birth of our son today is your dadâs sign to move on. Master Crepus would want that for you, I am sure, and passing on a small fracture of him to this boy would close this chapter forever. What do you think?â
âI think that I love you so-so muchâŚâ
His lips are scorching, kissing yours with feverish urgency. Tears roll down his flushed cheeks, but you brush them away the best you can, not minding the salty taste of the kiss. Diluc Ragnvindr has his chest open for you, for your hands to hold his beating heart, for them to take care of it. This pure joy that sets his soul aflame is overpowering, all-consuming, and he is more than ready to let it swallow him whole, if only you keep loving him the way youâve been all these many years.
When he parts from you, the redhead nearly chokes and starts coughing from all the sobs he held back. Your fingers are deft, threading through his thick locks, gently scratching his scalp, as his forehead is pressed to yours. You remind him to breathe.
âAnd I love you too, Diluc. I always will.â
âThank you.â
You smile, peppering his face with kisses, whispering the sweetest words of affection. He wants to tell you something, he even opens his mouth, but a sudden knock on the door interrupts him. Your eyes dart to the heavy wood blocking the entrance to your bedroom.
âMaster Diluc?â Itâs hushed, but still audible. âWe spotted young masters, Sir Kaeyaâs family and Miss Adelinde from the window. They will be here soon, should we ask them to wait?â
Your husband clears his throat, coughing in his fist, and then glances at your figure to check if you look good enough to receive so many people at once. You simply mouth an âI am fineâ. It seems enough to assure him.
âNo, Hillie,â your husband speaks louder. âY/n is awake, so once everyone arrives, please, bring them here. And make arrangements for dinner.â
âYes, Master!âÂ
Diluc sighs when the hurried steps can no longer be heard and kisses you once more. The baby in your hold starts stirring and you return your free arm back around him, bringing the boy closer to your chest.
âWill you be fine, if I leave you alone with Cyrus for a moment?â Him already using the name reduces your heart to a puddle and you cannot fight the huge grin.
âWe will, my love, donât worry. Go wash your face, Iâll feed him in the meantime.â
With a nod he bends to kiss his sonâs forehead and then peck you on the cheek, climbing out of the bed after that and disappearing in the bathroom.
Fortunately, you had a solid half an hour before your sons and guests returned. In that time you managed to feed Cyrus, lull him back to sleep and pass the boy to a much calmer and collected Diluc, who carefully placed him in a crib.
Upon your suggestion, the man steps out of the bedroom to meet everyone downstairs, and warn the kids about being quiet. Every maid he meets on the way beams at him with a smile, congratulating and asking if their Lady is alright and if she needs anything. Their eagerness to assist his wife with anything she might need and excitement they feel for the fact Ragnvindr family has just grown in number is heart-warming, and Diluc allows himself a small smile, as he answers them the best he can.
When he reaches the hall of the first floor itâs just on time to witness Adelinde closing the massive doors and locking them. Two balls of red immediately sprint to him and he barely has time to crouch and catch his elder sons. They start whining and pouting for missing the whole day with their dad and he kisses their round cheeks, promising to hold a proper celebration later.
âHmph, you better!â Rufus scoffs, lightly punching his fatherâs shoulder. âBut today is not over yet, right?â
Diluc nods, patting their heads affectionately, ruffling crimson locks. Then twins glance at each other and simultaneously inhale.
âHappy birthday, dad! We love you!â
âI love you too, fireflies,â he hums, straightening up and lifting both of them in his arms. âThank you for your kind words, I appreciate them.â
âWe brought you and mom bouquets! Callie helped too,â Lucas chirps, pointing to two big bunches of flowers in Kaeyaâs and his wifeâs arms. The redhead lifts his eyebrows, to which his brother only shrugs.
âThis is wonderful, kids. I love them, and I know your mom would adore them too.â
âOh, can we go see her?â
âWhy isnât she with you?â
âDad said she was preparing a surprise, where is it?â
Bombarded with questions, flying from three directions, Diluc is reminded of why he came down here in the first place.
âKids,â the seriousness in his voice stops the stream of interrogation. Three sets of eyes are glued to his face. âI am going to tell you something very important and I need you to listen, alright? Now we all are going to go to my and momâs bedroom. There youâll have to be quiet, okay? No screaming, no squealing, no arguments, no running around, got it? Your mother is very tired, and someone whoâs also waiting for you there may start crying if you disturb him.â
Mrs Alberich gasps, widely smiling, and turns to her husband, whispering in his ear.
âItâs another boy!â
Children on the other hand look utterly confused, but they do know when the look on the Dawn Winery ownerâs face shows he is not kidding. This sounds so mysterious, and while puzzled they are dying to know whatâs going on. And without acting the way their dad/uncle asks they will not find out what it is.
âOkay, we understand. We will be quiet.â
âThank you,â he bends down again to put his sons back onto the floor and glances behind at his staff. âSomeone, take these flowers and put them in vases in the living room. Kids, go wash your hands.â
"Yes, Master Diluc!"
When the door to the bedroom opens, you wave to everyone with a soft smile, cozying among the many pillows again.
"Mama!" Twins exclaim in whispers, tiptoeing to the bed and climbing up to hug you. "We missed you so much⌠How are you? Why are you in bed?"
"Tired," you simply explain, smooching their cute little noses and hugging them as tightly as you could. Suddenly, Lucas's eyes fall to your stomach - or rather to where it was just hours ago.
"Mom⌠where is the baby?" He asks, patting around the blanket, and indeed discovering the belly's absence. Rufus lowers his gaze to confirm his brother's words and then looks at you and after that at Diluc, who's just quietly closed the door shut.
"Dad, what did you do to the baby?"
"Nothing."
"When where-?"Â
He stops when you tap his shoulder and, once both boys' attention is yours again, point to the crib standing close to the side of the bed. Callie, who's been watching all along, has her interest picked, and steps to the little bed from the other side, as her cousins crawl across the mattress. With six hands grabbing at the wooden edges and six eyes glancing inside, the room falls quiet again for a few moments. Kaeya walks to you and gives you a hug, kissing your forehead and congratulating you with a new addition to the family.
"It's funny isn't it?" He murmurs. "Now you don't need to invite us another time to meet the newborn."
You laugh at that. As he moves away your co-sister-in-law is quick to take his place, embracing you and pecking your cheek, also congratulating you and teasing for once again being a boyâs mom. Diluc meanwhile has taken place by his nieceâs side, gently smoothing her hair back, observing the kidsâ reaction.
Itâs Lucas who opens his mouth first.
âSo⌠this is our sibling?â
âYes, Lu. This is your little brother.â
âHe sure is little,â Rufus drawls, âIâd even say tiny. Were we this tiny too?â
âYou were,â Callie butts her way in a conversation. âI was your age when I saw you two for the first time. Though I couldnât hold both of you in my arms, you were heavy. You are still heavy, hehe.â
âWe are not-!â
âShh,â Diluc presses a finger to his lips, and the kids slam their palms over their mouths. âRemember what I asked you about? No fighting, or he will wake up and start crying.â
âSorry, dadâŚâ
âSorry, Uncle DilucâŚâ
You snort at the little exchange, watching your family fondly, thinking that you wouldnât have it any other way.
âHey, brother,â Kaeya joins the other man and grabs his shoulder, squeezing in an affectionate gesture, âCongrats. Both with your and your sonâs birthday.âÂ
Diluc nods, lifting his own hand, patting the one resting on his shoulder.Â
âOh, right!â The older twinâs eyes sparkle at the realization and he stares up at his dad. âDoes it mean you share a birthday with him?â
âYes, I do, Ru. Does it bother you?â
âAre you kidding me? Dad, thatâs so cool! Me and Lucas always have each other for our birthday, he would have you for his!â
âAlso it means two cakes,â the other six-year old murmurs under his breath, and Diluc nearly chuckles - you do know your boys too well. It also lifts a weight he wasnât aware of off his chest - it seems like he was a bit worried, if twins would feel jealous of the fact their dadâs and siblingâs birthdays are on the same date. But since they are cool with it - he is more than cool too.
âSpeaking of him,â Mrs Alberich manages to take a peek into a crib too, aw-ing at the fact itâs a red-haired baby again, âhave you chosen a name already?â
âWe did,â scarlet eyes stare right into your soul through yours, and you mirror Dilucâs proud smile. âHis name is Cyrus. Cyrus Ragnvindr.â
âCyrus, hmmâŚâ Kaeya purses his lips in thought, as if examining the name in and out, like some kind of a linguist. âDiluc, Rufus, Lucas and Cyrus⌠Yeah, fits right in.â
âNot as well as Cherry â3 I bet,â Callie smirks at the twins, to which, keeping in mind the promise they gave their dad, they only stick their tongues at her.
âI told you the name was perfect,â your husband reminds you with a soft chuckle.
âOh, wait!â The eye-patch wearer snaps his fingers without actually making a snapping sound. âDiLUc and LUcas, RUfus and CyRUs⌠You now have two Luâs and two Ruâs!â
âOh Archons, I didnât realize that,â with wide eyes you stare back at him. âThatâs so cute!â
âCan we call him Cy?â Lucas pulls away from the little bed, and sits back on the mattress properly.
âI think it is indeed a short form for his name,â you nod, feeling so relieved about how smoothly everything has been going. Yeah, surely the birthday party didnât go as planned, but on the other hand you finally have your boy, and your other boys look pretty happy after meeting their younger brother. So itâs all wonderful.Â
Or maybe you are too fast to judge.
âUncle Diluc, Aunt Y/n,â you are surprised, when your niece calls you both, and glance at the oldest kid in the room inquiringly. To your surprise her face is expressionless, or at least she is trying to keep it this way, because your husband can clearly see barely-hidden mischief lighting up her eyes. She waits when her silence draws attention of the rest of the people to her persona and then, with the same straight face, says something that immediately sends her father choking on a silent laughter.
âNext time I want a girl cousin.â
Dumbfounded, Diluc, you and her mother stare at the girl with jaws going slack, while Kaeya is nearly dying from suppressing his violent coughing, bent in half and shaking. Not letting it crack her act, she holds her head high and heads right towards the door, feigning nonchalance with her graceful posture and slow steps.
âI will go and ask about the dinner. That's all.â
And just like that she leaves you all once again under the pretense of checking on with the kitchen staff. Mrs Alberich is the first one to snap out of the collective stupor and, shaking her head, grabs Kaeyaâs elbow to drag him out of the room. Diluc is next, inhaling deeply, wondering why he is even surprised by her antics. He notices how the twins kind of lost interest in watching a baby that is doing literally nothing, so he ushers the boys to a very important mission - to make sure that their dadâs favorite meal is cooked, which they take with all seriousness.
And once more itâs only him, you, and little Cyrus, sleeping peacefully in his bed. You watch thick scarred fingers unbutton the vest and peel it off, hanging it on the back of the chair. Same fingers brush his bangs away and he sighs again, making eye contact with you. He smiles and you smile too.
âAs much as I love this girl, Iâll have to disappoint her.â
âI agree, love,â the man is at your side again, an arm snaking around your shoulders and pressing you into him. âI admit, I wouldâve loved to have a sweet girl looking just like you, but judging by the looks of our sons... Who knows how many attempts itâll take, and I am not risking your health anymore.â
âYou are so sweet,â you swoon, lacing your fingers together and squeezing his hand. âI love you for that. Are you sure that this is enough?â
âIt always was enough. From the moment it was just you and me it was already enough. You simply tripled this happiness.â
âWe tripled this happiness.â
âWe will.â
âYes, we did. And we will keep it that way.â
You lean close to kiss him, but, before he can reciprocate, start kissing all over his face, wherever your current position allows you to reach. Your partner keens on your affectionate attack, lowering his head on purpose, so you have more skin to cover with your lips, and since it brings you so much satisfaction, you do not stop until a thought, that you are forgetting something, is at the front of your mind.
âI just realized that I am the only one who has not wished you a happy birthday today. So⌠Happy birthday, Diluc. I love you very-very much. Sorry I am not very creative this year.â
âI think the little boy sleeping over there would beg to differ,â your husband nods at the crib, making you pout, but is quick to kiss it away. âI love you too, Y/n. Thank you for everything. This birthday was as perfect as any other you spent with me.â
âAnd I will make sure to make it perfect every single year ahead of us, my glorious Dawn. Should we wish a happy birthday to our little Dusk as well? I think I heard Kaeya briefly congratulate him, I want to do it too!â
You are so adorable when excitement is written all over you, and it's hard not to give in to your sparkling eyes, especially when he wants the same thing you do.
âWe absolutely should. Letâs do it together, alright?â
The sky is painted black outside, and the second floor of the Winery is quiet, when in the comfort of one of its rooms three sweet words are spoken in two voices with such love and devotion, only parents can have for their child.
âHappy birthday, Cyrus.â
And maybe the winds would pick these words and carry them through the time to the one, and, stroking his short red beard, he would smile and say that the Dawn and the Dusk were always meant to be together.Â

Reviewing tgcf characters because I have thoughts
I finished S2 recently and I need somewhere to put my not exactly hot but like warm (?) takes because it's taking up too much storage space in my brain.
đ¤ Xie Lian đ¤
It's a good thing I'm not into guys because if I was I would be on my knees for this man in every sense of that expression and his pet menace to society would mince me up like garlic.
So I'll try to be brief about my overflowing feelings about him. Xie Lian is the best main character I have come across in a WHILE. He's the embodiment of compassion and kindness. And also a cold blooded murderer. A babygirl. A father figure. A terrifying martial god. A silly little guy. A pathological liar. The most genuine man you'll ever meet. He's everything, and Hua Cheng is 100% valid in his obsession. I'm right there with him.
Rating: 10/10
â¤ď¸ Hua Cheng â¤ď¸
Idk if we ever figured out who wrote My Immortal but I'm pretty sure we have our culprit.
"Hi my name is Hua Cheng Crimson Rain Sought Flower Red-Robed Ghost King and this is my evil weapon of death E-ming. I've killed soooo many gods with it!! My dark power is I can summon storms of BLOOD and SUFFERING. I have my own scary city of DEMONS and they all love me and think I'm HOT but I only want my BOYFRIEND who's the only REAL GOD so STOP FLAMING HIM YOU POSERS-"
Needless to say I love him. Being the 8 time winner of the Loverboy of the Century Awards with unbeatable records in the yearning olympics is truly a remarkable feat.
Rating: 9/10
(Bonus: E-ming. Cute little guy. Likes his stepdad more than his real dad. Not afraid to show it's feelings even if it makes it look like a muppet, 10/10)
𧥠Feng Xin & Mu Qing đ§Ą
Tweedle dee and tweedle dum gets a shared rating because they would hate to be grouped together like that and that's funny to me. Their dynamic is great, they're good characters, I wasn't sure which one was which until midway through the second season. But then also I have a pair of 7yo twin cousins who I still can't tell apart despite them not looking even a slight bit similar so that might just be a character flaw on my end. Oops.
Rating: 7/10
đŠľShi QingxuanđŠľ
I'm doubling the rating because she is best boy and best girl at the same time. I love that I can use any and all pronouns for him because he's literally a pride parade personified and therefore all of them are correct. You don't get that type of chaotic fun just anywhere.
He is truly living my dream, presenting as whatever gender they want depending on what's more convenient and/or funnier in the moment. Super useful, for things like gathering intel and terrorizing Feng Xin by being a woman.
And I personally think we should crown her the new emperor. She'd look significantly better on that throne, with her Barbie-like radiance and flourishing Kenergy.

Listen, I hate to say it because I like a sunshine x grump moment as much as the next gay but he's just... not giving what he thinks he's giving. Everyone is whispering ominously about him having some dark devastating secret but MY point is no matter how big his boobs are in his female form, Shi Qingxuan could do better. I'm sorry. She really could.

đ Lang Qianqiu đ
Just an honest man with good intentions and a sickass fucking sword. He did NOT hesitate to attack the infamous Crimson Rain Sought Flower on SIGHT and I respect a quick decisionmaker, even if it shows some himbo tendencies. He also has the same distinct energy as Fred from Scooby Doo.
Rating: 6/10

He's got some odd dietary and moral choices going on. Definitely. But he's just such a fun villain!!! Being Xie Lian's nr 1 source of migraines SHOULD make me like him less but I'm sorry, every time he was on screen I was LIVING. He would do numbers on reality TV. Someone put this guy on Kitchen Nightmares, I need to see him 1v1 Gordon Ramsay.

He has his emperor status & DILF card going for him but something about this man just ain't right. If he came to a party I was attending I would cover my drink is all I'm saying.

I don't know much about him besides he had that one shady empolyee or whatever (could not hear the plot over the deafening sound of Hua Cheng's yearning) but I'm partial to a good manwhore character. The thought of people praying to him like "Hugh Mungus, who art in heaven-" really tickles me.
I know he's probably straight but I headcanon him as at the very least bi-curious because you can't be that hot with that much game and not use it for evil. (That evil being causing large scale gay awakenings among his soldiers.)
Rating: 7/10
âPei Xiuâ
Unreliable, unimportant, unattractive, unemployed.
I remember not a singular thing about him besides fucking up Xie Lian's daughter's life and also being on my last nerve from the jump. If you're going to be evil at like least be memorable about it, you know? You can't be a bad person and a bad character at the same time. Pick a struggle.

I heard she committed some war crimes but honestly if I had to do an entire realm's tax returns by myself AND teach Pei Ming how to read (I refuse to believe that man is literate, just look at him) I would want to rage on occasion too. I hope she has a hot wife waiting for her at home to give her massages after carrying the whole system on her back all day. It's what she deserves.

"W-We shouldn't be doing this," you gasped out, feeling the rise of your arousal flooding every part of your mind. It overtook all of your senses - forcing you to see stars, making the blood in your veins boil deliciously, casting visions of rainbows across your mind, flashes of effervescent violet and topaz coating your eyelids. "It's... it's not right."Â
The man between your legs was incessant in his movements, pressing your spine a little harder into the shower's cool tiled wall. One hand clamped down onto your hip, nails digging into sensitive flesh there, as he held you up, continuing to hoist your legs around his waist tightly. His other hand was busy at work between your colliding bodies, thumb drawing messy circles around your clit. It was so fucking puffy and felt like it was engulfed in a vat of flames.Â
"Why? Because you wanna deny that you're mine? That only I can make you feel this way, only I can fit this pussy so well?" His messy raven locks curled underneath the shower's hot steam, his entire naked form covered in a glistening sheen of suds and sweat and water. "You stay with him- with that prick, but you and I both know that he doesn't bring you to your knees like this- doesn't fuck you as well as I do."Â
And the worst part about it- was that you knew he was right.Â
Deep down, in the depths of your heart, mind, and spirit, you knew he only spoke the truth.Â
That's the thing that killed you the most.Â
The Han twins were infamous in the music industry - raising their empire of success from the ground up in the basement of their parent's house when they were just young boys in middle school. As they grew older, they only became better at their crafts - Han Jisoon with his rapping, and Han Jisung with his producing.Â
Soon after their 18th birthday, they made their official debut in the Seoul music scene. Instantly, their first track was a complete hit - sweeping the nation with its catchy rhythm and unique rap lines. It was unlike anything anyone had ever heard, and by the time the twins turned twenty-one, they were on track to be the biggest stars of their generation - overtaking all other duos in the industry and winning all the year-end awards.Â
You met Jisoon, the singer out of the duo, when you were training to become a hair colorist and he was in his late twenties. One day, a mysterious man came into your salon in Hongdae. Soon after you heard your teacher talk about who he was to some of the other stylists there - you realized that the man you would be working with was none other than the biggest star in the country at the moment.Â
Instantly, there was a connection between the two of you. His smiles were so warm, the way he spoke to you so soft and delicate, his laugh contagious. His happiness was infectious, and like a drug, you began to think of nothing but him. After work that day, you came home to watch all of his performances and interviews, completely captivated by his persona.Â
As it turns out, he decided to use your salon for his monthly appointments - and soon, after you graduated with your specialty license in hair color, you became his personal hair colorist.Â
It didn't take long after that until you two grew a deep connection, and then he was asking for your number before he took you out on your first date together, and the rest... was history. Â
Honestly, he was the best boyfriend you could ever ask for. He was so fucking kind and sweet and considerate. He wasn't selfish in the least bit and always wanted the best for you. And when you told him you wanted to keep things on the down-low in regards to your relationship, he heeded your wishes. Over the three years that you two had been dating, not a single word had gotten out to the press about your relationship. Sure, his fans speculated about his relationship status, but no one ever came out with any hard evidence of his true girlfriend.
He had even met your parents during Chuseok soon after your first anniversary, much to their delight. He brought over gifts for your mother and spent time out on your father's boat fishing in the early morning even though he hated fishing and always got seasick. Your mother fell in love with him during your trip, and wouldn't stop talking about the expensive rice cakes he had brought her for that holiday season. Your father also took a keen liking to him, saying he enjoyed having a fishing partner, which was your father's way of saying that he approved of your choice of a man.
All of your friends loved Han Jisoon too. Your best friend, Ryujin, was obsessed with your relationship - and was always checking up on the two of you. She was just chomping at the bit for him to propose, and every Christmas that passed, she claimed that 'next year, he'll do it on New Year- I swear to you that he will.'Â
Jisoon liked to hang out with you and your friends when his schedule allowed him to, and you did the same with his large group of friends. Granted, most of his connections were either famous producers or other popular singers, but still - you liked the fact that he wasn't afraid to introduce you to the important people in his life. Because all of it made you feel important to him.
Not to mention all of the gifts he got you - sending you huge bouquets of your favorite flowers when he was away on tour, and sending you little gifts here and there 'just because.' Like the box of chocolates during a particularly shitty day of your period, or the small teddy bear that was programmed with his voice and said 'I love you,' that he bought for you during one of his promotional business trips to Taiwan.Â
Overall, he was the best person you had ever met. He was funny and quirky and so fucking entertaining to be around. Not to mention talented- he could write thirty lines of rap within an hour, something you never could get over even after years of knowing him. He was perpetually changing his hair color too, thanks to your help - and for the past year, he had been rocking a dusty blonde look. He also loved to dress in bright colors and wasn't one to shy away from all the new fashion trends.
So... everything must've been amazing, right?Â
You had a beautiful, unique boyfriend who fucking adored you and practically worshipped the ground you walked on.Â
So then, what was the problem?Â
Well, for one thing, the root of the entire bane of your existence was his twin brother, Han Jisung.Â
With his perpetually messy black hair, onyx eyes, and scowl he always seemed to wear no matter what. You had never seen him dressed in anything other than dark clothes - grays and blacks only.Â
His temperament matched his outward appearance, with his downright rude personality at times and his snide comments that were always directed towards you. He was an absolute thorn in your ass and he loved being one.Â
He and your boyfriend couldn't be more different from each other, and you were almost surprised when you first met him after you and Jisoon first started dating. Because... they were such stark opposites of each other it was almost comical.Â
But Jisoon loved his brother, despite his flaws and all, and since they had an entire career together, you were forced to share space with your boyfriend's other half. When Jisoon would invite you over to the studio late at night to listen to some of the new lyrics he had written, there Jisung was. Sitting at the desk in the recording studio, directing everything and making changes to the track... just brooding for a fight.
When he worked, Jisung was even more serious than his normal day-to-day persona; changing into this silent, man with a menacing kind of aura surrounding him as he sat behind a huge desk in their shadowy recording studio.Â
You'd be turned on by the sight of it all if you were dating Jisoon - his twin brother.Â
But as it turns out, life has a funny way of playing tricks on you...Â
On your mind and heart and everything you had grown accustomed to.Â
And before you even realized it was happening, your dynamics were changing. No longer was it you and Jisoon against Jisung. Slowly but surely, throughout your relationship, you somehow grew closer to your boyfriend's twin brother.Â
It started with him being a little nicer to you randomly during your visits to the recording studio, or during the luncheons you'd sometimes attend with your boyfriend and his entire crew.Â
Han Jisung turned out to be kind of... nice.Â
Despite all of his flaws and rude mannerisms.Â
But even so, he was still an asshole, he was still annoying most of the time and a total prick. He liked to get under your skin, and wiggle around in there - teasing you just enough to the point where you were close to blowing up at him. But he always pulled back eventually.Â
Almost like, he enjoyed the thought of edging you irrevocably, for years on end.Â
Things came to a screeching halt though, when the twins were on tour and Jisoon invited you to tag along with him to their dates in Japan. Not wanting to deny the offer since you had always wanted to visit the country, you joined him during the four days that he and Jisung would be in Tokyo.Â
At first, everything was going smoothly.Â
Their rehearsal the night before their first show went well, and you enjoyed sightseeing with your boyfriend after he was finished with preparations. After the two of you got back to your hotel, Jisoon quickly fell asleep in your shared queen-sized bed, completely exhausted from his busy schedule.Â
And then somehow, you had found yourself roaming the halls of the luxurious hotel, stumbling upon a small alcove in the back of the spacious place, fit with a self-serve mini bar and a few velvet-lined seats overlooking the glittering night's cityscape.Â
But the person who was sitting in one of those seats was the thing that surprised you the most, with his black tresses and even darker stare. He regarded you with a tilt of his head, swishing around the ice in his crystal glass that was filled with dark bourbon.Â
Pathetically, it only took you three drinks in.Â
Perhaps the red wine they served at the hotel's mini bar was more potent than the stuff you were used to in South Korea.Â
Or, perhaps you were just as exhausted as your boyfriend Jisoon from spending the day traveling across the city and sightseeing.
But before you knew it, you had somehow migrated onto Jisung's lap, allowing him to place his palms on your ass that was just barely covered by the mini skirt you had changed into to tour the city with Jisoon earlier that night.Â
"I have a boyfriend, Jisung," you had said, as the man before you leaned in a little closer to your form. Nose coming close to your exposed neck, he had breathed in a deep sigh. Your spine shuttered from how near he was to you. Nearer than the two of you had ever been before. "Jisoon- he- he loves me."Â
After that, Jisung looked up at you with a raised eyebrow, a dark, familiar look twirling right there in his eyes. He stared on at you in silence, before he let out a dry, humorless chuckle. "Oh please- you couldn't give a flying fuck about my brother. Especially not when you're with me..."Â
The moment his lips had come in contact with your skin, you melted instantly - like a bar of milk chocolate being held over the high flames of a fire. The fire ended up being him, his heat engulfing you as his mouth came around the spot between your clavicle and neck, teeth biting down there slowly, tongue darting out and licking ever so slightly.Â
"I've seen the way you stare- you're practically begging me to fuck you at any chance that we're together," Jisung had grunted out, his mutterings fanning against your skin and making the butterflies erupt even faster in the pit of your stomach. "Such a little whore- why have one brother when you can have two, right?"Â
After that, you were trying to push him away. Palms on his muscular chest, you tried to move off of his lap. But his digits just dug in harder to the supple flesh of your asscheeks, and when you moved slightly, you could feel the hardness of his middle gently hitting up into your warm center.Â
In the end, you couldn't deny the wetness that was slowly growing in your panties. But you could sure try your damndest to forget about it all. "I'm dating someone else, we... can't..." Your voice trailed off after that, as his mouth traced up the column of your neck, pressing light, heart-fluttering kisses against your jawline and the corner of your mouth.Â
"Too bad you're such a horrible fucking liar then," Jisung said in a low voice, staring into your eyes and giving you that look - the one he always leveled your way when he was officially done with your bullshit. "Too bad I can no longer ignore the wetness that's growing between your legs- ignore the way you press these cute little pussy lips together each time I make you squirm with my taunting."Â
In the next instant, he was pressing his mouth against yours, swallowing up your groan of surprise, quieting the moans that threatened to slip free from deep inside of you when his tongue danced against yours.Â
Turns out, he was right.Â
Without even really realizing it, you had been taunting him.Â
For fucking years.Â
With your combativeness, and playful banter. Not to mention, the long stares and shifting in your seat every time he made you feel... bothered.
He was like a powerful magnet, something you couldn't deny the pull of any longer.Â
Your kiss there on the chair in the hotel alcove turned into something heated and disastrous, and soon, you found yourself locked up in Han Jisung's hotel room - hands pinned against the soft downy mattress as his thick cock ripped you right open. He drew the filthiest of sounds out from the depths of your soul as he pounded into you completely raw, fucking you well into the night. He edged you for hours - just like he did in your regular lives - before bringing you over the brink of five different orgasms.Â
The sex with your boyfriend Jisoon was good,Â
but nothing could compare to the way that Jisung made you feel that night.Â
How filled up you had felt - completely whole in every way possible.Â
Usually, the sex with your boyfriend was fairly quick, very vanilla, and in the same three positions.Â
Meanwhile, Jisung had you in all kinds of ways that night - knees, back, stomach. You name it, he somehow coaxed you into it.Â
And afterward, after he finished coating every crevice and surface of your insides and outsides in his seed and sweat and saliva, Han Jisung helped to clean you up. The two of you lay side by side in his bed for a little bit, soon after he had wiped your skin clean.Â
No words had been spoken between the two of you then, but you just felt, that nothing had to be said. The deed had been done. You had gotten over the hardest part.Â
And now... there was no going back.Â
When you had crept back to the room you were sharing with your boyfriend and laid down beside him just as the clock was about to strike five in the morning, you realized that things were completely ruined.Â
Nothing would ever be the same again - because no one would ever compare...
To the way Jisung made you feel that night, and how he had made you feel over the past few years, without you even fucking realizing it.Â
Slowly, as you lay there underneath the covers, hair disheveled and the marks of Jisung's lips littered across your body - your legs and arms and pussy sore from his arduous, heated attention - the tears slipped out of the corners of your eyes unchecked. You stared at the back of Jisoon, your boyfriend, and cried yourself into a listless kind of sleep, void of any dreams or thoughts.Â
"I'm sorry, babe," you had whispered to his sloped shoulders, just before your eyes had slipped shut in finality in the early morning rays of sunlight for that day. "I'm so fucking sorry..."Â
Three weeks after they were finished with their Japanese leg of the tour, and back home in Seoul resting before they finished up with their encore concert in America, Jisung paid a visit to the apartment you shared with Jisoon in the heart of Gangnam. Your boyfriend was out for the day, visiting his parents for the rare break that they had in their schedules.Â
The moment you opened your door and saw him standing there on the step, your heart dropped into the pit of your stomach. But the two of you didn't have to say anything, because you already knew.Â
Things had been ruined the moment you stumbled upon him late at night in that hotel, all those weeks ago.Â
That day, you christened every surface of your apartment with your mixed essence. Every place you could imagine, Jisung fucked you on: the kitchen counter, the living room couch, the dining room table, against the front door, in the shower, on the study room's floor, and perhaps worst of all... in your very own bed. The one you had shared with your boyfriend, who was also Jisung's twin brother, for years. Â
The sex that day was mind-blowing and cataclysmic, as Jisung led you over the brink of so many orgasms, you lost count after the third one. By the time the two of you were finished and the sun was beginning to set, you were so deep into an odd limbo state of mind that you couldn't even form a coherent thought or sentence.Â
And like a thief leaving in the middle of the night, like a ghost visiting you for only a time, Jisung just kissed you goodbye, promising he'd come back soon, and left you in your apartment right before your boyfriend came back.Â
He left you as a pile of messy hair, weak limbs, and a murky mind, sprawled out across your bed, completely naked and littered with bite marks and violet hickies. You managed to throw a nightgown on before your boyfriend came home and saw you that night.Â
You were so fucking ashamed, but no matter how bad you felt about it all, you couldn't stop yourself. And apparently, Jisung couldn't either. You two were drawn to each other, for whatever reason. And no external factor - even the idea of a long-term boyfriend - was going to stop the trainwreck that you were slowly causing with your secret meetings.Â
Over time, the periods spent with your boyfriend's twin brother bled together into a fever dream of passion and the greatest sex you had ever experienced in your life. Any chance you could get alone with each other, with your boyfriend nowhere in sight, the two of you were fucking...
In the recording studio, during the rehearsal for a TV appearance, at the hair salon you worked at, in the bathroom during a late-night dinner with their company. And soon, you found yourself falling into a weird kind of rhythm with Han Jisung. Half of the time, you spent it with your boyfriend, Jisoon. And the other half, you spent it with Jisung... fucking and delving into each other in all different ways.Â
Your time spent with the other brother became so intense and all-consuming that you lost track of how long it had been since everything had started. And that's how you found yourself that specific Friday night, with your boyfriend spending the night at the studio working on a recording. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to him, his twin brother was between your legs.Â
Jisung had already taken you wholly atop the dining room table earlier that night after you had finished eating the takeout he had brought over. Once you were done chewing your orange chicken and fried rice, the dark-haired man was upon you with a vengeance - ripping off your panties and pushing you atop the wooden table. His fingers had this magic touch to them, and within just a few minutes, with a couple of practiced strokes, he always brought you over the edge in a blinding light of arousal.Â
After he was finished with you on the table, you two took a shower together and somehow... he ended up inside of you, once again, for the millionth time in a row.Â
"W-What about Jisoon..." You whined out, head bumping against the tile wall at your back with every hard thrust of Jisung up into you. His cock stretched you out so deliciously, and you ground your hips against his, loving the feel of his hand clamped down on your clit, rubbing at it with a rabid kind of heat. "He... He'll die if he finds out, Ji..."Â
He flashed you a swarthy, devilish kind of smirk, before he leaned into you, pressing his teeth against your shoulder and biting down on your clavicle. Tongue coming out to press against the purple spot left there, he chuckled lowly. "Oh, just shut up already- I think we're past the point of you giving a fuck about him."Â
And then you were clutching onto his wet locks even harder, as he drilled his cock so far deep into you, entire galaxies and other worlds flashed across your vision. Gasping out in pure bliss, you moaned out his name breathlessness, your whines getting swallowed up by the sound of the running showerhead above you.Â
"Yeah, that's right... moan my name, bitch," Jisung coaxed in a deep voice, his thumb drawing figure eights around your puffy clit as his cock fucked the squelching juices back into you. "We both know this - us - is never ending... either you leave that fucker, or he finds me fucking you one of these days and everything turns to shit. Your choice."Â
You were so fucked out, mind fuzzy with arousal and the pit of your stomach on fire from all of the feeling coursing through your system that you could barely form a coherent sentence. Even still, you managed to crack your eyes open just a tad bit to level Jisung with a serious frown. "N-No... never- don't want to ruin this..." The breath caught in the middle of your throat as the tip of his rigid cock hit that soft spot deep inside of you, making your legs shake around his waist, cunt clenching around his length.Â
"Then take everything, you slut- be a good little whore and take daddy's cock," Jisung commanded out in a stern tone, pounding into you incessantly and making your ass bounce back and forth against the shower wall. "Open wider for me, baby doll- wanna see this pretty pussy of yours bulging with my cock."Â
As always, you did what he commanded of you. Spreading your legs wider and hugging them a little closer around his hips, your head shot back against the tile of the shower wall when you felt Jisung's cock prodding into you.Â
He pushed down on your lower belly, feeling the way his thick cock rubbed up into you so far, he bulged out against the seams and the outline of him displayed deep inside of you. "Oh fuck- such a cute pussy... fits me so fucking well..." Jisung said in a low voice, as he rubbed a little harder against your clit with his thumb. Meanwhile, his dick was reaching all new lengths inside of you, drawing out a flurry of moans from between your lips. "J-Just a little longer... just hold on a little more, 'kay kitten?" Â
And in the end, you heeded his commands. All of them. You did everything he wanted, because truthfully- you couldn't help yourself. Couldn't deny him, no matter what.Â
Fin.

Some days Glenn would go to the magic realm. He hadn't been much when he was growing up and was always flummoxed by the doors. Doors that should lead nowhere actually moving you? Weird. He wasn't the only member of the coven to enjoy some time there though.
The main building had been magically fortified. It was one of the few places Jackson and Coleman could test the limits of their magic without risking detection or uncontrolled destruction. Sometimes Glenn would watch them practice. Jackson doing his best to set everything aflame while Coleman worked on starving each flame of oxygen, fascinating and usually got the attraction of other young spellcasters. Koko had an astronomy group she would meet with while Ophelia searched for valerian root for Glenn to grow.
Vendor: Hello, how may I help you today?
Glenn: Woah, I forgot they had ghosts here
Vendor: Not ghost sir. I am an astral projection
Glenn: A what now
Vendor: I'm not really here, just my spirit. Actual me is sleeping in my cottage right now
Glenn: In a cottage? That sounds like the life
Jackson: Stop holding up the line certified loser, some of us actually want to buy stuff
Glenn: I want to buy stuff
Jackson: Sure you do. Excuse me sir, do you have any bone wands in stock yet
Vendor: Not today. They are hard to make
Glenn: Jackson I thought you had a wand
Jackson: I do but I'm trying to collect some. They have different vibes, inspiring you know. Gets the creativity going
Glenn: I always forget you write poetry. How'd someone like you even get in to that
Jackson: Who's being rude now? Words are like flames to me, they just make sense. And I do have a talent for pushing buttons
Glenn: No kidding. So you're collecting? Plan on getting shoes like Carmine?
Jackson: Ruby slippers? Nah. There's only one pair of them in existence. And I'm plenty tall already, no heels required. You coming? Some of the others were talking about dueling. Coleman and I were going to take some wagers from the apprentices that don't know better
Glenn: I'll be along. I need to see what seeds they've got
Koko: Don't be trying to hit me with any water spouts
Marisol: And don't be trying to blind me with light
Koko: Deal. You ready?
Marisol: Ready
By the time Glenn got there they were near the end. Koko won which wasn't a large surprise, she was far more curious with her magic study and Marisol was still adjusting to the move. Jackson and Coleman collected their winnings from disappointed apprentices and the group headed home together.
Time passed and Glenn got better. He got to the point where Grayson wasn't the first thing he thought about in the mornings. He changed his lockscreen, and got back in to a routine. Some nights he would go over to Henri's or Miranda's and watch a film. Miranda had the best set up in her room, but Henri had the best snacks. The twins did tease him for his celebrity crush on Devin York but a man could dream.
Cooking comforted him, not as much as gardening but close. Glenn loved food and felt a freedom when playing chef. He slowly started to dream of what his future might look like, or who would be in it. It wouldn't be Grayson, but he thought about what he'd like in a partner. Someone to share life with, someone who wouldn't mind him cleaning dirt from under his nails every time he came back in the house. Someone who liked abs, and told him he looked nice.
Humans were nice but humans were... tricky. They didn't understand what the occults had been through. But maybe that could be good? Once he finished his breakfast he always took a tray up to his grandfather who liked to read in bed in the mornings, and got on to the rest of his routine.
Each day his affirmations became easier to say. With time he got back to believing he was a catch, he just had to find someone who was fishing... and didn't have anything against the colour green. He flowed through his exercise routine most mornings. Push ups and sit ups until he hurt, but a good hurt. Then if it was sunny he'd go for a run, if it was raining he stayed inside and did a dance workout.
Little did he know someone had no choice but to stay in the rain.
Reminder that Glenn and Silver are moving to my weekends rather than every second day, but they meet in the next part I promise!

Twin Flames pt. 2
pairing: Aoânung -> Neteyam x fem!metkayina reader
contains: angst with underlying fluff, melancholy ending. aoânung and reader are 19, neteyam is 20
a/n: here is the well awaited part 2! i pretty much wrapped it up with the ending. my apologies to the aoânung girlies if i break your heart with this đ
i hope yâall enjoy wc: 3,219
Twin Flames. A love so fierce among two souls itâd be impractical to think you could come out unscathed. And while you and Aoânung were written in the starsâ stars burn out and fate can be revised.
Love hurts, thatâs the truth of it all. You sign away the rights to your heart when you blindly take that plunge into a realm of whirlwinded emotions, because the reward is always worth the risk.
Aoânung could sit here and say moments blurred into days, days into weeks, and so on. But the statement would be a bold faced lie, a lie he would much rather have been living over what he was experiencing now, because absolutely nothing blurred together. It was all painfully, crystal clear.
Each day he endures your absence from his life stretches the full, dreaded twenty four hours. Every grueling hour, every painstaking minute, every enervating second leaves him mercilessly aware of just how badly heâs screwed things up with you.
And he stalks around the village like an idiot, misplaced and hopeless, looking in every nook and cranny you might have tucked yourself away in to no avail. Itâs like youâve completely disappeared into thin air. Either that, or youâre really good at avoiding him.
Heâd seen you in glimpses, evanescent moments where heâs left thinking he must have imagined your face, because in the blink of an eye, youâre gone. Just as quickly as you come, you go, like the shells the sea leaves upon the shoreline, only to steal them back into the taunting waters that laugh at your failed attempt to rush and grab them before theyâre lured back into the deep.
He recognizes now, just how extensive the consequences of his actions are. Itâs when he stalks back to his Mauri, a slight stagger in his stride due to the longevity of the dayâs training. His father took no interest in going easy on him, probably due to how distracted he seemed the entirety of the lesson.
The centers of targets went untouched by the point of his spear because it fell short every time he plunged it through the air. Hot sand enveloped the discarded tool in a blanket of gold when he chucked it down out of frustration and heâs so fucking tired of this.
In the midst of his exhaustion, his mind plays a cruel trick on him. Makes him think that heâs trudging all the way home to meet your bright smile and warm embrace, until reality hits him like a relentless, angered wave of accountability and almost has his knees buckling. Of course youâre not there, how foolish of him to think youâd forget about what he did and throw yourself right back into the crossfire of his confliction.
Itâs pathetic. How he lays in his bed at night, alone, defeated, kept up with the never ceasing memory of how hard he made you cry that day. How he swore he could feel the shards of what once was the shell of your being scrape his skin as it slipped through his fingers and into nothingness before him. He desperately tried to hold onto them, tried to put your pieces back together, but you wouldnât even let him do that. You scooped up the broken remnants of your heart and took them with you. Couldnât you have let him keep just one?
He stares across his moonlit room at the shelf on his wall. Particularly at the disheveled accessory that sits atop it, mocking him in the way itâs gone unworn. Slightly misshapen from how tightly your hand had clenched around it, your indignation molded into the crumpled fabric. The gift haunts him, reminds him of the day he wishes he could take back but he canât bring himself to get rid of it. Itâs all he has left of you and your scent still lingers on the leather, though Itâs fading, slowly.
He wonders how youâre doing, how youâre handling the whispers that float through the air of you being the latest victim of his immaturity. How he aches to comfort you, to tell you that you were so much more to him than another thoughtless mistake, more than a cheap rendezvous. It angers him, rocks his core with something fierce the way people talk about what happened like itâs their latest gossip. But who is he to blame but himself?
Any other time, or any other girl, rather, he would have been laughing right alongside the talebearers. Shrugging in a disgustingly nonchalant manner and blaming whatever poor soul heâd wronged for her own heartbreak because she knew what she was getting into when she got with him.
Itâs why it hurts so bad. Because even while you managed to uproot a gentle side to him no one else had before, somehow he still found a way to hurt you, and even worse than the others at that.
How did he fuck up this badly?
_____
A month has passed and he wishes he would have lost count by now. Everyday without you is excruciating. He had no idea he could miss someone to this extent and itâs why heâs sat by himself on the shore, watching the waves crash against the waiting rocks, elbows resting upon his perched knees with his forearms hung limp between them. And like usual, his ears perk up at the sound of your name in a conversation that has nothing to do with him.
âSo, Y/n, huh?â A voice chuckles.
Heâs instantly on alert, all because your name rolls from a maleâs tongue a little too freely. His spine straightens and his throat clears as he wills his body to remain calm at the simple mention of you.
âYeah, man. I havenât seen them together in a while, not sure what happened but Iâm pretty sure itâs over. My rites are next week, and Iâll definitely pass. Iâm thinking of asking her for her hand.â
Aoânung nearly recoils and heâs up on his feet in seconds. The thought of you with someone else has his mind in a frenzy. Everything is a blur, the shouting of those around to witness is muted when his fist comes in contact with the poor naâviâs nose and heâs hissing down at him in a fit of unrefined rage as if he even has the right.
âSheâs spoken for.â
_____
Though his failed attempts proved to be fruitlessâ Aoânung was somehow still confident enough, or maybe deep enough in denial to believe that eventually, youâd come around. That in due time, the memories of his mistake would trickle from your mind and youâd fall into him again.
But then, the tide changes.
Strange naâvi come swooping in on unfamiliar looking animals, drawing up a crowd of alarmed villagers with their arrival. Men shield their mates from the potential threat, and mothers scoop their children up off their feet and into protective arms while weapons are quickly gathered in preparation.
The screeches of the large birds split through the air and ring uncomfortably in Aoânungâs ears, but still, he starts towards the direction of the disruption. The dark blue naâvi land on the wet sand of the shores, slender bodies lacking of weapons and hands outstretched to propose vulnerability, ensuring that they come in peace.
Thereâs six of them. The father, he assumes, the mother, a small girl whoâs quickly gathered by her motherâs curt demand, a strange looking female who nervously cowers into her shawl behind them, and two boys.
Their tails are odd, lithe and silly in the way they swish back and forth with uncertainty. A tuft of hair decorates the ends and Aoânungâs face crinkles in disapproval, but for some reason, youâre intrigued.
Itâs the first time heâs really seen you in weeks. All of you, no longer hidden by your desire to avoid him. And somehow, youâre even more beautiful than when heâd last seen you, eyes beady, sparkling and round with interest and he prays youâll look in his direction, but you donât. You stand with the rest of the crowd, hands folded behind your back while you eye the strange looking newcomers and Eywa he just wants to hold you again. Itâs hard to focus on the invasion of foreigners to his land, because all he can think about is you.
The younger one has already expressed interest and introduced himself to Tsireya with an upwards nod of his head, and sheâs a giggling mess beside you, so Aoânung assumes it must be the eldest brother youâre watching so intently. The armor he wears resembles his fatherâs, but thereâs an obvious difference between their status as he quietly stands behind the man negotiating. Toruk Makto, he comes to find out, or what he calls himselfâJakesully.
Aoânung isnât even listening to the conversation his father is having right beside him, because you laugh and his ear turns in its direction, then his head follows. That sweet, sweet laugh. It shouldâve melted his heart, like it always did, but instead it makes it freeze over and sends a chill prickling up his spine, because youâre not looking at him.
You couldnât help your curiosity.
Contrary to Tsireyaâs advice, youâd reached out and touched the fluff of the eldest brotherâs tail, because everything about him was so different from you and you had a hard time believing he was real. His markings resembled stripes, yours waves. His hair neatly plaited, yours loose. Heâs very, very composed, hands politely clasped together in front of him, head raised confidently but not arrogantly and you donât know why, but you like that. His physique is lean, carved and sculpted to reveal tight muscles that of a warrior. Heâs taller than Aoânung, and much taller than you.
It made you giggle, how his tail seemed to be the most animated part of his dignified, soldier-like disposition, because it hurriedly curled around his small waist with a mind of its own and away from your gentle finger the moment you made contact. The Metkayina boy felt his stomach curdle and bubble with jealousy at your genuine infatuation with this stranger.
The eldestâs braids sway over his shoulders with the movement of his head whipping around, wooden beads clacking against each other while his intense, aureate eyes attempt to locate the culprit of the intrusion. They miss you completely and glance right over your head, but when his chin meets his chest to return his attention to the Oloâeyktansâ conversation, thatâs when they find you, and take time to trail down your form. And they keep you, and donât let you go for a long, spark-filled moment, your big blue eyes peering up into his amber ones that twinkle with newfound interest. Youâre shorter than the girls heâs used to, your body plump and soft in the areas Omaticayan women are slender. The boyâs never seen someone quite like you before, thatâs clear in the way his brow bone raises.
You looked apprehensive for a beat, smile faltering due to the searing, unintentionally intimidating gaze this man has on you while he examines your person, and Aoânungâs foot moves to approach, ready to protect his long lost love from this bizarre naâviâ this intruder.
But then, the boyâs hardened mask crumbles, bioluminescent freckles emit a soft glow against dark blue, and he smiles at you, more than willing to look past your curiosity. Your cheeks flush amaranth when you return his grin, the same way they would when you used to look into his eyes.
It was in that moment, Aoânung felt his heart split into four, as itâd already been severed in half long before this.
____
You make him feel welcome. Neteyam, that is. He occupies the early hours of your day, meets you at your Mauri every morning with a basket of your favorite fruits as a thank you for helping train him and his siblings, because heâs just not satisfied with being anything less than perfect. And itâs like youâve completely forgotten about your past in the way you beam and pull him along the netted path by his hand, effervescent in the way you bounce along, insistent and thrilled to show him all the parts of your homeâ his new home.
And he trails behind you with the goofiest smile, because Neteyam would follow you anywhere. He made this known to you from the start and that was something you cravedâthe solidity of it all. Assurance. The security in something real.
Heâs sweet to you, Aoânung knows he is, because after just a month of these forest freaks living in the village, he notices unfamiliar trinkets begin to adorn your stature.
You now keep a few long braids in your hair, one on either side of your face, and two in the back, youâve never done that before. You always claimed you liked your hair loose like the waves of the sea you loved soâ untamed like the light of your spirit. But your undeniable pull to the man of the forest has you compromising.
Thereâs a stack of unfamiliar beads looped on the ends of each of them, and surely theyâre not made with a material collected from the reef. Theyâre wooden and polished, embellished with painted markings he doesnât recognize. Youâve never worn those before.
Aoânung waits for this fling to pass. But then, the second month goes by, and then another, until he realizes that youâve moved on. Of course you have. Why shouldnât you? Itâs not like you hadnât found him cozied up with another girl, cooing the same promises heâd kissed onto your skin into the ear of another, as if he hadnât been telling you for nights on end that he wanted to make you his mate. What a beautiful lie, and if only youâd known it was the truth.
You like Neteyam, because heâs gentle. Heâs kind, and thoughtful, and cares for others more than he cares for himself. He makes you feel seen, and safe. Valued. You make him feel heard, and appreciated. Relaxed. Things the both of you have apparently lacked the majority of your young lives.
Itâs easy with him, because you never have to worry about his eyes lingering elsewhere or his attention wandering. Heâs so smitten with you and youâre so enamored with him, and itâs all so consuming that you donât know what else to do other than rave about it from the cliff tops to prevent your heart from bursting with the premature promise of forever and scaring him off, little do you know he wants it more than you do.
Neteyam makes you feel whole, and gorgeous in all aspects of your being, not just beautiful because of what he sees on the outside. Heâs in love with your soul, in a way you never thought a man could be, but only because youâd never been told.
Youâre his only one, and in every breath he takes he makes sure this is known. He boasts about you to his parents and siblings and the friends heâs managed to make in the village whenever he gets the chance. And with slender fingers, heâs much more skilled at Aoânung at this jewelry making thing, because damn near every week thereâs a shiny new prospect of Neteyamâs love and appreciation strung around your neck in pretty beads and shells that have you squealing and jumping into his waiting arms as if heâs proposed.
Itâs something youâd always told Aoânung you wanted, a token of his appreciation in the form of something you could hold, something you could keep close to your heart for years to come. Something he never got around to doing because he insisted to himself that itâd push him off the deep end and into the tumultuous waters of loving you, unknown to the fact that he needed no one to help him do that but himself.
You feel like a princess everyday because Neteyam tells you that you are one. And he doesnât just tell you, he treats you as such, too.
Sun kissed jewels from the high depths only a skilled climber can reach dress your wrist, like they were made for you. They match your eyes and you wear them like itâs your second skin because you almost cried when he gave them to you, paired with a confession of his love and Aoânung wishes heâd thought of it first.
It makes him sick. All he hears around the grapevine is how youâve never looked this happy. How you have an unmistakable glow to you, a pep in your step due to the golden boy whoâs somehow won the hearts of the people in Awaâatlu in his short time here, just as he had done with his own people back home.
How a weightlessness clings to your answers when your friends ask how you and the forest boy are getting along, because itâs nothing less than a dream come true.
Itâs a stupid question, the answer is so painfully obvious that it has Aoânung wanting to rip his hair out.
Neteyam looks at you like youâve hung the stars in his sky, like the sun rises in your irises though he knows the blazing star is much too hot to be the color blue. He holds onto you in public, proudly, without shame or fear that others might see, because heâs just so blessed to call you his.
Heâd even passed his rites to cement that, the first out of his siblings to do so, and itâs no surprise that he chose one of the most extensive designs for his tattoo. You were right there, holding his hand as he sat through the entire session with no breaks, all to prove to you how strong of a warrior he was. Though the black ink etched along the side of his hip that stretches all the way down to his ankle is more than enough proof of that. And as if to rub seasalt into the wound, heâd even tamed Tsurak (Skimwing) on his first try, because he excels in everything he does, yet the man shows you off as if youâre his biggest accomplishment.
Because you are, and you should be. Aoânung just hates that it isnât him in his spot.
____
He shouldnât have asked.
But you and Tsireya are close friends and he just wanted his mind to shut up with the endless scenarios it creates on loop when heâs trying to sleep at night. He just wanted to know if it was as serious as it looked, and his foolish heart really hoped it wasnât. So every time Tsireya returned home from the daily training sessions with you and the other Sullyâs, he was the first to meet her at the entrance, prying her for more information on you and the one whoâd taken his place.
âTell me,â He demands of his younger sister. Itâs a look sheâs never seen in his eyes beforeâ desperation. âDoes she love him?â He breathes, grasping on to the last bit of hope he has left.
She sighs, plucking her bicep from his soft hold with a gentle shake of her head. âAsk her yourself, Aoânung. This is no longer my place, I will not get in the middle of your messes.â
âI canât ask her, âReya, you know that.â He pleads with her, âShe wonât even look at me anymore. Please, just tell me.â
Her eyes meet his, looking between them and he can feel the disappointment radiating off her demeanor because she knows what heâs done. She knows you and Neteyam have plans to make your bond official, and she knows itâs far too late for her brother to fix things.
âDo you want her to be happy?â
Aoânung hesitates at the question, but nods nonetheless. His answer is complicated, thereâs layers to it. He wants you back, because he wants you to be happy, and you were always happy when you were with him. At least, you used to be, so maybe things could go back to the way they were if he tried hard enough.
But all hope dwindles like a candle snuffed with wet fingers when he hears the truth heâs been avoiding.
âThen let her go.â
