just finished season 3. I will be choosing to ignore the last few minutes and I will pretend that arthur and john drive away while eating the bread. its sourdough and arthur discusses different types of bread and why he does and doesn't like each. arthur explains sourdough starters to john and john is throughoughly horrified. then arthur explains everything that happened while john was gone. then once in a normal area they stop at a motel and arthur has a real shower. then they go to a pharmacy and arthur more properly bandages and cleans his stomach wound. then they go to a burger place which arthur absolutely devours and explains how incredible they are to john. they get something sweet with it, perhaps a cookie or a brownie to make up for arthur's blood loss. if not, a coke. then they drive off into the sunset happily ever after!!!!!!!!!

I decided to give Lost You Forever a shot. Within 10 minutes this lady storms into her husband's funeral in red, accuses a prince of sabotaging the military so that her husband and clansmen would die in battle, stabs the prince in front of the emperor, stabs herself, and swoons backwards into her husband's open tomb, which then seals itself and sprouts a zillion flowers. Also she does this all in front of her sobbing child. Zero context is given to any of this. Who is the country fighting? What is the Ruoshui Clan? Why did Evil Prince hate Red Lady's husband? Does the emperor have literally any opinion on any of these shenanigans? Are the precocious children biological cousins or martial cousins? What the fuck is going on. No time for answers, the little girl's mom has just divorced the emperor off-screen (?!?!?!) and the grandma is making the precocious kids swear deathbed loyalty oaths while she dies dramatically! WE'RE ONLY TWENTY MINUTES INTO THE EPISODE!!

Sannyo's Flowers

You occasionally see art of Sannyo with flowers:

The reason for this is not only that Sannyo Komakusa is named after the Komakusa flower, but also that she named and themed her Spellcards after Japanese mountain flowers.

Mountain Sign "Heaven-Shaking Kumomagusa" / Mountain Apparition "Astonishing Kumomagusa" (depending on difficulty)

Mountain Sign "Usuyukisou Shining with Bewitching Light" / Mountain Apparition "Usuyukisou of Thronging Crowds of Youma" (depending on difficulty)

And of course, her namesake

Even her nonSpells resemble flowers.

Its extremely cute that instead of modeling them after smoke, or gambling, she chose some of her favorite mountain flowers. She has very unique tastes, especially the Usuyukisou which aren't quite conventionally beautiful but they definitely look like lasers with sunlight shining off of them. Though they certainly have their charm shining in the sunlight.

She actually has a few flowers in her den in Lotus Eaters as well.

After Mizutaki released the script for a bunch of Lotus Eaters. Including LE29 and 30, it was revealed that both her dragon divider and flowers were part of ZUN'S script, making Sannyo's flowers primary canon!

We aren't likely to be seeing them in Lotus Eaters again since Sannyo can only keep them on the mountain, but it's really great we got to see them when we did. It's nice knowing she canonicaly takes care of some in addition to modeling her Spellcards after them.

Also last but not least, the Title Lotus Eaters gave her was.

a very appropriate, and poetic title for her; and it explains why she loves tough mountain flowers so much. she's a bit of a mountain flower herself after all.
