Fable SMP spoilers ahead!!

Sooooo, the Cathedral of War, huh? Havin thoughts rn. Epros gave Centross the reaver, Epros wanted Centross to kill/mortalify Fable. Fable always felt so sus to me, and now we for sure know mans bad. from what he said during the battle/trying to get the power from Icarus, I think he wanted to take revenge on the primordials. (if i say bullshit here, i have a really bad memory and i forgot most of the stuff he said already probably, so sorry for that) he had to do something bad, if even Epros wanted him dead. it seemed like he got abandoned by the primoridals, after all he is the only one who doesnt have a primordial in his realm. obviously all he does is to take revenge, evil man doing evil things. after what happened- i think he killed Alerion, i mean noone else really would have a reason, and Fable has a knack for power. another thing is Icarus. oh my gosh i have words say to Icarus. like, i can understand their point of view, wanting to fix everything theyve done in the past. but my guy. your father just outright said you were gonna die, wanted to rip your power out of you, hurt you, but you still believe him after what both he and Centross said. ... i thought that the point was supposed to be that Jake grew more than anyone here, which is why he was facing down Riya. i mean, i guess you could say that Ally had to grow a new personality for the beginning of the season, and then have that character develop. she is more changed from s2 Ally than Jake is from s1 Jake because Jake had more of a character in s1.

it is true that this (if she actually remained on Riya's team the whole time) is kind of a win-win for Ellie. either Riya loses, or she gets $100K. both are acceptable.

i know that they didn't really have time, but with Alec and Ellie working together (and Alec protecting Ellie, as he did here), i had kind of hoped that we'd get a bit more closure on their relationship. like, does Ellie still hate Alec for betraying her? or is the fact that they were going to be in the villains alliance together mean that they'd cross that bridge? maybe i'm just forgetting, but their relationship feels somewhat unresolved. (i mean relationship platonically btw; no hate to people who ship them but i don't need to know if they're a couple or not because the canon answer is obviously no)

i know i probably would have made fun of this scene for being super corny/moving too fast if Tom had said "i love you," but it's perhaps equally funny that he didn't. like, c'mon bro, you can't even muster the L word in this incredibly dramatic and heroic moment?

oh boy...

y'know, beyond just not having a good time slot in which to do so, i also kinda put off writing these initial thoughts because i just really didn't feel like having to write anything about ONC's choice regarding the winner of the season. everyone online seems to have these really radical opinions-- either saying that this was a brilliantly subversive and poetic choice, or that the entire season (and perhaps even s2 before it) are ruined by the choice to let Riya in. the truth is, i'm incredibly neutral.

on one hand, i'm incredibly disappointed. if you've been keeping up with these initial thoughts throughout the season, or especially my episode-by-episode power rankings, you'll know that i've very firmly believed that Jake was going to be the winner of this season since the beginning of the merge. and it's not because he's my favorite character and i really wanted him to win or anything-- i have a generally favorable opinion on Jake, but it was mostly because i thought that the arcs and messages of the season would be best capped off with a Jake win. therefore, it's saddening to believe that they didn't capitalize on all that potential just for the sake of shock value.

then again, i really appreciate what ONC was trying to do with Riya. i can tell that they must have felt like they had a lot to prove with Riya in DCAS given how mixed her reception was in s2. so, they put in a lot of work to "fix" her character in DCAS, and, on the whole, i think they got a lot better! as much as i was predicting the Jake win, i was also kind of dreading it, just because it was the sort of cheesy, fanservicey ending that could be predicted from a mile away. so i appreciate the boldness to go for an unexpected ending, and the refusal to stagnate in cookie cutter fan-pleasing storylines when your artistic heart is driving you in another direction.

which is why, in the end, i have no strong opinions. i think that the character writing absolutely could have been set up to establish viewer expectations better, but i also don't think that the entire season is unwatchable because Riya wins. the truth of the matter is still that all of the other contestants besides Yul are the real winners of the season, because they made friends and grew as people. if you rewatch the season, you can still see the gang do just that. but the equal truth is that all of the promises those friends made and the goal that drove them to improve might all feel a bit more hopeless with the knowledge that Connor never did get to one-up Riya. People who needed the money more, like Ashley, Alec, or Ellie didn't get a cent of it. and unlike it would be for Jake, who had a lot of connections with a lot of people, many contestants had pretty much no bearing on the winner of the season at all.

i want to believe that the Disventure Camp writing can and will continue to overall get better, but i also can't ignore the obvious signs of growing pains. can't bring myself to get all too mad at them either, though. mostly, i just want to stay out of any drama.

it really shows that Jake hasn't been able to look at social media since the beginning of the show. trust me, buddy, not everyone was rooting for you.

Young Jeremy Bradshaw fanart! (Bridgewater my beloved)

Here’s my latest Bridgewater fanart! I wanted to explore more young!Jeremy Bradshaw; especially as in S2 he mentioned having been tried Wicca when he was younger; so it struck me directly — what if he tried witchcraft overall? And my mind unraveled to that point to now 👌

So let’s first start with young Jeremy, as he admitted to believe, I wanted to show how he tried to explore all the possibilities and I totally see him as a little bit of a rebellious teen as he is still in denial and as he is aching for the come back of Thomas. That’s why he tries to contact him with the pendulum, he wants to believe.

And I thought how Jeremy would express himself in this situation? That’s why I gave him black nail polish, an earring, and you can’t see it much but he has some black eyeshadow, to me it was his way to express himself.

As a way to express himself too, on the picture framed on the left in the red frame, it’s him as a teen with his mother and his step-dad, as I heard in S1 EP01 that Jeremy’s mother said dad to talk about the guy and Jeremy corrected her, I thought about that grudge must have been lasting for a huge while, so that’s why he put a post it and crossed it as well, because he has always refused to replace Thomas in a way, and he looks quite uncomfy on the picture too.

However, another picture is framed: baby Jeremy with Thomas Bradshaw and this one is fully visible. It’s probably one of his only picture with his dad so he cherished it a lot. (My headcanon is that Jeremy had the film camera and took a picture by accident as he was excited to see the camera, and when they developed it they kept the picture as it was too adorable, and I love Jeremy with his one little tooth 🥺🥹)

He also cherishes the letter his dad has written to him for his fifth birthday, so just before his disappearance. As I don’t know if you will be able to read my handwriting here is my transcript:

“Dear Jeremy, Son, l know I promised to be here today, but *scribbled words which are “you know”* work is work sometimes. I’m sorry. You will probably understand later. You have plenty of birthdays to come, so I promise I’ll make it up to you. Take care of your mom ok? Happy 5th birthday, proud of you, x Dad”

Which makes it even more hurtful because he never got to celebrate another birthday with his son. (Yes I suffer, you suffer with me /lh)

For the context of this fanart, I thought it would be in the year 1995, so Jeremy would be 20 years old and it would match. So I then looked for Gameboy games which were out in North America before 1995 because I really like to be accurate, and I put Batman first because it’s a nod to Misha Collins’ role in Gotham Knights as he plays Harvey Dent! (Btw as an other Misha nod, I did the bed blanket pink for the famous pic of Misha with his pink blankie but that’s really anecdotal but that’s what I enjoy). I really wanted Jeremy to have Pokemon Red/Blue but unfortunately, it was out in Japan in 96’ and then 98’ in NA/EUR and import at the time was so-so, but as he likes myths and folklore he would love to catch pocket monsters for sure. (Maybe a next time??)

I put another paper taped to the wall which is just the Bridgewater triangle with the locations of each angles of it, I like to think that Jeremy was trying to find more information on it, that was his way to have a visual reminder of it all.

When it comes to the X-Files… because his t-shirt is some accurate 90s vintage t-shirt X-Files merch with “the truth is out there” written on it (I like details way too much), I think it is time to explain why TXF is so present in my full Bridgewater fanarts (the Big Blue mug reference to Quagmire 3x22 of txf, or even the I Want To Believe poster which is present usually in Mulder’s office ) not only the show is really important to me, but I really found the vibes of it in Bridgewater, and then it struck me, Jeremy had been Scully coded in the beginning of the S1 to then go to a sort of epiphany realising that things might end up real. But I truly don’t think that it stops here, because to me — we come to the headcanons — Jeremy has watched the X-Files as it aired. It started in 1993, he had 17 years old, he was not feeling good, he wanted to believe, who wanted to believe as well? Fox Mulder.

And it’s easy to draw the parallels: Jeremy has lost his father nobody cares anymore and he is only aching as he had been hoping for him to come back, his father disappeared in strange circonstances in the Bridgewater Triangle. Mulder has lost his little sister, Samantha, whom he was persuaded as a kid to have seen getting abducted by aliens, and everybody has lost hope on finding her, it’s easy to assume that Jeremy saw himself in a way in Mulder. Their seek for the truth is important but even when his belief starts to crumble I think he is still attached to the show and starts to find himself in the character of Scully, scientific and down to earth before anything else because it hurts less, and it’s his trauma response. But I think he ends up with the IWTB poster in his house as an adult as no matter what, he still wants to believe into the hope of finding Thomas again although he doesn’t believe it anymore.

For the witchcraft part he also has a tigers eye stone bracelet because it’s supposed to have strong properties of protection, and the pendulum is in amethyst as it’s supposed to bring soothing energy and good vibes — which might be useful to get contact with Thomas.

Then we come to my favourite fanart “plotwist” which I’m super proud of: the incense behind him as it’s burning is spelling “Jeremy?” which is a supposition that his contact with Thomas was indeed working — the veil hum hum cough cough — however he could not see it so not believe it, whereas ironically, the cone incense in front of him was burning normally, so this “séance” not working might have crumbled his beliefs into the supernatural too which put them into more into the rank of myths instead of real tangible possible things (and we can see his interests into myths and folklore already as the three books he has on his shelves are about it!)

ummmm so I went to sleep away camp or whatever ygs call it in the US for 3 weeks, its an Irish spoken one so you know I ate that up, volunteered for the youth club camp and lost a child at a theme park while doing so (we found him, he was fine) and got some horse riding back in cuz I missed out on like 5 weeks of training lol

With movies I haven't watched a whole lot cuz I've literally had like. No time. I'm seeing the Kneecap movie tomorrow with my bf which I'm very excited about and I'm gonna see I Saw The TV Glow on Monday with some friends even though it's showing kind of late at the cinema (7:45pm), tbh I'm going in completely blind with but people say it's good so I'm simply just going to watch it. I've also rewatched alot of matt damon movies because why wouldn't I? I'm still his number one fan, currently watching The Martian as we speak which I've never actually watched before, kind of disturbing but it's okay because again, it's matt damon!

What I said all those months ago about my partner will need to fight for me when it comes to matt damon? I still hold to it. Guess who my bf looks like 😐 you will never guess its totally unpredictable 😐

I have readdd The Twelfth Day of July by Joan Lingard, it's a book about this guy and girl and the guy is a cath and the girl is a protestant and how they hate eachother and its really good, I love it a lot. I also read all of Diane Olivers short stories while at irish camp, they're really good and I totally reccomend her stuff, I think you would like some of her more scary short stories, a lot of her stuff is unpublished though cuz she was died at age 22 and she really needs more recognition, like when I looked up her most famous story I couldn't even find her other stuff at all.

Games I played Alan Wake about this guy (who is an author) who goes on holiday to this island and his wife goes missing so Alan has to investigate it while this story that he doesn't even remember writing becomes a reality, there's a second one I just haven't played it yet. I played The Quarry about a group of young adult camp counsellors who have to stay one day extra before they get to go home but there's creepy stuff on the property that wants to kill them and it's so good my fave character is my profile picture, we love Dylan Lenivy.

THENNN I played A Way Out with my brother set in the same prison as Shawshank Redemption, these 2 criminals set a plan to escape prison and get their revenge on the guy who murdered one of the mens brothers and well the other one kind of gives away the whole story so I won't go into detail on that one but it's depressing, it's a little disturbing and you get attached to Leo and Vincent the main guys.

Ive just been chilling this last month before school starts again and hanging out with my friends, I was going to go to NI for a while but there's protests and people setting streets on fire so I'm not going anywhere near there for now.

Currently reading: Nothing, unfortunately! I haven’t read any books/stories in an embarrassingly long time :( I am so ridiculously busy and haven’t had the time/motivation to read and get invested in new characters. I have a bunch of series I want to reread for nostalgia purposes, though. I’m also strangely tempted to read the Animorphs series? LOL. I looked it up on AO3 for the first time a few months ago while in the kids’ section of the library with my IRLS and we were assessing the popularity of kids’ books based on the amount of AO3/Wattpad fics (btw, there are a shockingly low amount of Geronimo Stilton fics in the world). I wasn’t expecting there to be an Animorphs fandom, but there IS? And the fics are really GOOD even though I don’t know the source material? Anyway. Tempted to read it because I like putting teens in situations /lh. Also I want to read more short stories! Send me recommendations, if you have any.

Last thing I googled: This is so embarrassing. ‘Bathroom cruising’ LMAOOOO. I was just writing a funny bit, but I wanted to make sure it was accurate, okay? T_T Other recent searches include my voice lesson Lieder, various areas I’ve felt pain recently (because I’m a hypochondriac /lh), and a vlog I had to watch for my job… I was writing an article about it.

Sweet/spicy/savory: Savory. Every time. I love savory foods, and they’re basically the only types of food I ever crave. Then I would go with spicy, but only if it’s spicy in a flavorful way (and not just a painful way). I don’t like sweet foods except for chocolate—and, even then, I am infamous among my friends and acquaintances for only liking SUPER dark chocolate… like 70% cocoa or more. I would say my favorite flavor profile is bitter! :)

Current obsession: I think y’all already know :^) I am incapable of having more than one strong interest at once, soooo DnDads has quite literally been occupying my brain since liiiike October 2022… almost a year ago now! o_o Holy shit. I’ve been really busy with work and school in the past month or so, so I haven’t done basically anything else in my free time. I’d like to start cross stitching again because I have some projects to finish, and I got some of my late grandmother’s jewelry-making supplies recently, so I’ll toy around with that, too.

Currently working on: Like, right this second? Discussion post replies for my Writing in Digital Environments course :p In general? As far as hobbies go, the beginnings of my next longfic chapter! As far as work goes, I’m working on article about a mural. I have to drive like 30 mins to get a features image for it tomorrow ugh. At least I get to kill time on the clock :’)

I know you probably didn't intend for me to reply to this but I will anyway because why not. This turned into half a novel but I hope you'll read it anyway, maybe even change your mind.

The reason you don't recognise these common tone indicators is... that you don't use tone indicators! I'm in many discords with a lot of neurodivergent ppl, a good portion of which is younger than me (because they're fandom based servers). We use tone indicators all the time and nobody bats an eye at them and if someone does indeed not know what one means... we ask. We literally just ask. It's that easy. Since tone indicators are usually used in real time chats, it really isn't that big a deal.

And if you truly are so socially anxious that you cannot ask the person you are already talking to a question (no offense if you are, we're all different) you can just look it up. "tone indicators list" brings up many results, I've linked one here to make it even easier, (although I do think that one should be updated slightly as, at the time of writing this, it does not have the increaingly popular "/ref" (indicating that something is a reference, eg to pop culture, one of my most used) nor does it have "/gq") and you can also search up the tone indicator without the slash in combination with the words "tone indicator" which will almost always yield an accurate answer within the first three results.

It's a bit like with anything but especially internet slang: the more you use it, the more familiar with it you get. You probably know what the (also frequently used by me) shortenings "ppl", "bc/cuz" or even "v" mean, right? You probably also know what "PS5", "USA" or "km" mean. That's because you've been in contact with them a lot. The same would eventually become true for tone indicators.

As to address two points from your tags: 1) sequences of letters can have more than one meaning (remember the "animal crossing did not attack air conditioners" post?) so even if you originally think "gq" stands for genderqueer, it can still stand for something else as a tone indicator and 2) there are actually multiple reasons you might use shorthand instead of writing everything out, including less time you have to spend typing and a shorter overall message resulting in better readability - plus, having it be short makes it more clear it's a tone indicator, not an alternative to something, since it follows a slash.

All of this "debate" reminds me a lot of when vine captions (and later video descriptions in general, image descriptions, etc) became more commonly used, btw. Like, a minority of disabled ppl is saying "hey, I actually really benefit from having this, could you provide it?" and many other people are coming in with "well I don't need it and also it's annoying" so there's a debate on whether you should provide said accomodation or not. And I hope that, like with captions before it, we eventually settle on providing it because I've had enough emotional turmoil due to not being able to read "tones" to last me a lifetime. (In fact I think we should even start using something akin to tone indicators irl but let's cross that bridge when we're done with this one.)

Finally, for your ultimate convenience, here are the meanings of the five tone indicators I mentioned in my original tags:

/s - sarcasm (or irony, since those are usually treated as synonymous in English). not to be confused with /srs (serious tone)

/j - joking tone or joke

/lh - light hearted tone

/gq - genuine question

/nm - not mad

(speaking of, this entire reply is nm. i genuinely am trying to explain, maybe even change your mind)

The History Of The Cloobies War

(note and disclaimer: war is /lh. this is all for fun. no one was ever actually fighting. every single participant in this fully supports containment & proper tagging out of courtesy. cloobies are not for all and we understand this. And again, ALL OF THIS IS /LH. EVENTS ARE OVERDRAMATIZED FOR COMEDIC EFFECT. that said, let’s get into it).

Background

It all began one day with a simple concept. Boobsteal SMP. Picture: Lifesteal, but instead of hearts you steal boobs. This naturally led to the concept of Lifestealers with boobs, and somehow this spiraled into Clownpierce with boobs. A new channel was created in the lifesteal brainrotting discord for the sole purpose of containing the cloobs.

And so it began.

Some time passed. Whispers reached the outside world. Inside the cursed-thing-containment channel, the Cloobers were plotting. Quickly those involved seperated into a few groups. 

First, the Cloobers, with Skye/Gender (recently revealed as Rat Anon, although we wouldn’t find that out later) being one of the most well-known. Later, when Vester Casinomoths joined the Discord, it also became a prominent member of the Cloobers, along with Joobies Anon.

Second, the resistance, mainly consisting of Nix Felicityphoenix5. Yeah, really by now it’s just Nix. Most others took a somewhat neutral stance, being neither particularly enthusiastic about Cloobs nor against them.

And then the Kevins. I, Pacific C. Otter, proudly claim the title of the original Kevin, but there were a few... copycats (/lh /nm).

The Kevins did not last long.

Containment Breaches

Around the same time, two things happened. First, the Cloobers posted Cloobies art on Tumblr. Let’s just say it breached the containment of a few mutuals who it was meant for. 

And secondly, Nix made the mistake of mentioning Cloobs in the tags of lifesteal-headcanons, which prompted a second containment breach in which cloobies were explained to the general public.

Sammy Lawrence x Male! Reader

You walked down the abandoned halls of the studio, silence filled the air. You smelt the smell of the past, occasionally you thought you could hear people's voices from the past. But you were most likely hallucinating.

You couldn't remember much, other than that you used to work at this place. You didn't even remember your own name, and barely remembered any of the people who worked with you. But, one name stuck out to you the most. A name you could remember.

Sammy Lawrence.

You didn't know who this Sammy was, you didn't even remember speaking to him. It was just a name that you could remember, and that was all that mattered.

You walked into the music department, thats at least what the sign said. You killed a couple of those... ink blobs along the way. Grunting with tiredness, you stumbled across an office.

You decided to rest for a bit. So you opened the door, and closed it tightly. A music disc laid on the table, and a music player stayed still. You slid the disc in, and a slow piano tune. Egan to play.

You laid your head down on the wooden table, allowing yourself to think for at least a minute in this hell of an abandoned studio. You did wonder.. who was this Sammy? Why did you even know his name?

You felt the world fall invisible around you as you began to wonder, spacing out into your own imagination. Then-

"What the hell are you doing in my office?.." A quiet voice suddenly spoke. You looked behind you quick, preparing to aim your axe. You had just been pulled out of your thoughts by what seemed to be.. an.. ink person?

"Huh?.." You said aloud. "Listen, I dont know who the hell you are. I'll put this goddamn axe in your head if I need to, if that's what it takes for you to leave.." He growls.

You sigh with an eye roll, "Listen, man. You need to calm down. I ain't gonna do shit. Speaking of which, why the fuck do you have a damn bendy mask on?" You smirk playfully.

"Do i need to explain that to you?!.. He will set us free... thats common knowledge, right? Or.. wait.." The man brings your face closer to his by grabbing your chin with his slender black fingers, "I could just sacrifice you to him, my little sheep."

"My little sheep? Thats, uh.." You felt an odd feeling in your chest, "that's a pretty fuckin weird name to call someone. Is this some kind of kinky shit? Because I didnt sign up for this-"

"No- no! Hell no! What is up with you?! You are far different from all those pathetic sheeps i sacrificed.." He backs away in.. disgust? Embarrassment? You couldn't tell from that mask.

"Ya sure? Maybe ya just took the wrong approach with your wording, my guy." You roll your eyes. You felt a vague sense of.. familiarity with this man. But, of course, you didnt know why.

"My wording is perfectly fine!" He retorts. You chuckle, putting a hand on your cheek. He seems to freeze at your laughter, "Your laughter sounds... familiar to me."

"Hm? Oh really? Maybe I was your 'little sheep' in a past life or some shit if ya know what i mean?" You wink in a more.. playful way. "I- whatever.. but.. that voice, that face of yours strikes a sense of.. nostalgia in me." He says.

"Hmm.. all this time and we haven't even introduced ourselves. Alrighty, then. I'll say my name." You say, getting up and dusting yourself off. "My name is.. well it doesn't matter, and I wish to not be your little sheep." You add that last part in to piss him off.

"Oh, whatever.. I'm.. I'm.." He can't seem to find words. "Cant remember?" You guess outloud. He sighs, "Yes.. now enough, I need to sacrifice you.." He wields his axe. "And soon, I'll be free!" He yells.

You dodge his hit, and flop out of the door. You then get an idea in your head as you slowly get up.

"By the way, I think your name should be Sammy! Has a really nice ring to it, dont ya think?" You say as you run down the hall. "NOWS NOT THE TIME FOR NAMES!" He shouts after you. "YOUR LOSSS!" You scream back with a smile.

You didn't know why, but.. this felt oddly nostalgic to you. Only it didn't feel like you were being chased by a man holding an axe. You ran into the music room and closed the door, locking it. Yes, he could get onto the balcony, but you had an axe and were experienced with it.

But why didn't you attack him earlier? You.. didnt seem to know.
