I wish I could find a fic where Mulder is pulled into HR, thinking he'd done something wrong; and is surprised it's filled with more agents and superiors than usual. He expects everyone to be mad at him-- he'd disobeyed orders but saved the lives of a couple hostage victims in a very precarious scenario-- and is shocked to the core when he gets a perfunctory "Don't do that again" before the entire ire of the room is focused on Scully.
Who had, he finds out, broiled all of them alive while Mulder was a hostage, ripping their heads off and going nuclear that they weren't moving fast enough. And he just stares at her, gob smacked, while she stares straight ahead and answers yes to each increasingly insane accusation they bring against her.
Mulder then realizes that the situation he'd been in was even more dire than he had thought; and that Scully had moved heaven and earth to bring him home safely, gotten in dangerous professional arguments, and still let him think there had effortlessly landed on his feet like usual. She had even tended his cut, packed his bags for him, and taken care of all the grunt work on their flight home.
And Scully gets out of all of it because her actions were justified, and she's prepared to go to a higher up with her complaints about the local team's handling of the situation. So now everyone is mad (except Skinner who simply acts the part) except a cool-as-a-breeze medical-doctor-agent and her mind-melded partner who is filing all of this away for later while trying not to explode with pride.
I'd put this sometime S5 because Mulder was getting into a lot of trouble that year; and Scully was simultaneously bailing him out and upping her protective instincts while reclaiming control over her own life. Perfect storm.
ANYWAY, maybe there's a fic out there like that~ (or maybe I forgot that I'd read one.) When I do, you know I'm going to go nuts.
It reads like something I feel I've read! So maybe this fic actually is out there. Who knows! Or maybe someone will read this and feel inspired to read this. It sounds amazing - I'd definitely read it.

See THIS is why I trust the writers because the whole point of the deadline passing was so we could SEE Poseidon surrendering for Percy. The show has given Poseidon a more active and loving role in Percys life. The gods pride would never let them surrender to one another. But Poseidon knew his brother wouldn’t spare his son’s life. And he knew the only thing that would spare his son’s life was him surrendering. ALSO FURTHER CEMENTING THAT PERCY IS HIS FAVORITE CHILD! The writers pens this episode>>>

The thing that I love the most about Doctor Who is that it’s just SOOOOOO bad. It’s awful. It’s dreadful. It’s cheesy and stupid and terrible. It has dialogue like “I am the beep of all the meeps!” It’s truly the most embarrassing cringeworthy thing you’ve ever seen. It’s been that way for 60 years. It’s gonna be that way for another 60. It doesn’t matter what kind of budget or fan base they receive. It’s always gonna be this stupid.
I love it so fucking much.
