OH alright I've connected the dots. The way that lich dick works is Emmrich just throws on a strap-on. That's the lich dick. I'm actually very into this vision. I think he would keep a little collection of them and let Rook pick depending on their mood that night. Also I firmly believe that even if lich Emmrich doesn't strictly speaking COME anymore given lack of like...nerve endings and blood, they do discover that if Rook, like, jangles their hand around his hip bones and does a couple of funky necromantic hand gestures he DOES see stars. Just a lich and his spouse who he's obsessed with reinventing lesbian sex. They are very horny specifically for each other in the most gothic way possible. Their friends just watch them slowly becoming weirder together and they're like you know what? Good for them.

"Lucanis likes it when I lick his ear," says Neve, one night when they're all wine drunk and having 'ladies' time. 'Ladies' because Taash is there and Rook is...y'know, whatever.

"Oh, yeah, ear stuff," says Taash, like this is something they've always said.

"Emmrich likes it when I put my head--" Rook kneels on the floor and mimes what appears to be a complicated movement involving a hat. The hat being, presumably, Emmrich.

"NO," shrieks everyone else.

"One time I got stuck," says Rook, solemnly.

Bellara, who's frantically scribbling notes, looks up and says, "How did you get, er, unstuck?"

"Well," says Rook, rolling around on the floor like they live there now. The others are consuming wine at a rate that is not only unwise but unpractical, hoping to forget the conversation by the morning. "Turns out, liches still sneeze."

"Ohhh," says Bellara, like this makes perfect sense.

Emmrich (non-lich) & female Rook - Engagement & Expecting

This is for all my depraved Emmrich girlies who yearn. (And the girlies who wanna give Manfred a human sibling) This was supposed to just be random head canons, but kinda turned into a fic, or an imagine.

After your adventures came to an end, he decided there was no point in wasting time. He proposed to you in the memorial gardens a few months after things had settled down.

Before he asked for your hand, he stopped by his parent’s graves to let them know how much he wished they could meet their new daughter-in-law.

Being the old-fashioned courting type, he also asked for the blessing of your closest companions and faction members. He made sure to include fallen companions as well, informing their shrines of his intentions with you.

When you said yes, he was over the moon. He wasn’t sure how he ever caught your attention. A young, fresh-faced adventurer like you, should have been with someone similar. Yet, you said yes. He was to be your husband, and you were to be his wife.

He always imagined he would get married, he confessed this to Harding on your journeys. But as the years passed, the idea felt further and further out of his reach.

You both cried as he slid his mother’s ring onto your finger.

Since the engagement, you had been searching for a townhouse in Nevarra City. Of course, you’d still spend a lot of time in the lighthouse. And, there would need to be an Elluvian moved there. But, a private place for your little family was necessary.

Manfred would be needing a quiet place to study since joining the academy. He was thrilled at the idea of having his own room.

Things had been very passionate between you since the engagement. Something about wearing a ring and preparing to take his last name made you want him constantly.

It did something similar for him. Knowing that the world knew your heart belonged to him, and his to you— was electrifying.

As a couple you had also been a little less careful since the engagement.

You decided on an intimate ceremony with just loved ones. With a bigger reception in the ballroom of the Necropolis.

With a date set in a month, and the final negotiations on your new home the next day. Emmrich invited you to a nice dinner.

He was surprised when you declined the server’s offer of a vintage red wine to pair with your meal.

Even more so when you declined fruit tarts after learning they were made with Papaya. A fruit in which he had come to learn, you quite enjoyed.

That morning when he woke to find you not in bed, and heard someone evacuating the contents of their stomach in the infirmary, he was concerned.

When you returned to bed, he caressed a concerned hand across your cheek and asked if you were alright. He made you promise to see a healer after you claimed it was just an upset stomach.

You had some business in Minrathous that morning, and figured you would stop by a healer on your way to that meeting. After all, you promised.

As you took a seat at table, Dorian and Neve both shot out of their seats when they noticed how pale you were.

“I’ll be fine. I— Can you two keep a secret?” you said, smiling at them.

You were late getting back to the lighthouse, and found Emmrich impatiently waiting for your return.

“Darling, you’re late. We must hurry to the closing on the house— wait, what did the healer say? Is everything alright?” He said, scolding you as you came through the Elluvian, his tone softening once he remembered your ailment from last night.

You smiled at him, and grabbed his hands before reaching up to kiss him. Then whispering in his ear.

Your whispered confession stopped Emmrich in his tracks. His eyes widened as he took a step back to look you over, slowly turning his head to one side in astonishment. Tears filled your eyes as you smiled and nodded. Emmrich attempted to speak, stumbling over his words as tears pricked his eyes, before he rushed in and wrapped you in his arms. Both of you rocked gently while you wept tears of joy.

After closing on the house, he gently lifted you across the threshold of your new home, and placed you back on the floor. Then kneeled to kiss your stomach, before standing and wrapping his arms around you and Manfred.

Later that night, he suggested moving the ceremony date to next week. Call him old-fashioned, but he was going to make an honest woman out of you.

and they lived happily ever after, the end.

since it seems to be the topic du jour this morning, the only worldstate for veilguard i have a strong opinion / have a default for - at least for this blog's canon i have very strong opinions about everything otherwise and no i will not apologize - is going to be the mortal vs lich decision.

mostly because it, as a whole, is the only thing that really effects emmrich's overall path. like...if minrathous is blighted he still reaches out to and makes friends with neve anyway. if treviso is blighted, the only thing that changes is that even with lucanis lashing out he tells him he's going to look out for him and spite, anyway. no matter who dies in the battle with ghilan'nain he's still going to grieve because they were a friend. he has his own opinions on things, sure, but overall he's there to act as support, as opposed to as a major piece on the board in a lot of it.

(there's nothing wrong with playing the support role, either. his generally being otherwise of the not having a personal horse in this race for a lot of things means he acts a pinion character, his role to support and bolster those who do doesn't change, it just has a different focus depending on those outcomes.)

but for him, personally (and for the purposes of this blog's worldstate), mortal vs lich is going to matter. on the one hand we still have a man who is still very, very mortal and squishable pushing on against his fear of death anyway to the very end. on the other, a veritable undead magical juggernaut who takes immortality as meaning invulnerabllity and charges recklessly ahead because it's like he thinks he's suddenly got superpowers or something instead of being held together with spit and magic and a little chewed gum.

(my guy, you are a literal skeleton, you are definitely not invulnerable or indestructible.)

(also yes i recognize it does make him scarily...like that, but c'mon, i'm right, i know i'm right, at some point he's going to bite off more than he can chew without any sense of self preservation because he's built this up in his head to such a large degree. hubris is gonna be his downfall, i said what i said.)

anyway, i don't think it comes as a huge surprise when i say i can roll with either one (since it's a thing that generally only matters to, like, me and/or a rook that's romanced him), but the default state in this house is mortal at the end.

Sorry, one maybe final datv post cuz I can't get it out of my head, spoilers for Emmrich and lore regarding Nevarra, Mortalitasi and the Mourn Watchers but uh I have a shit ton of questions actually BioWare. What the fuck is going on with the Mourn Watch?

Is the Mourn Watch secretly ruling fucking Nevarra?

Emmrich, baby, sweety, honey, darling, did you just outright admit that King Markus isn't simply old and accompanied by disliked Mortalitasi advisors but that he's actually undead and actively being puppeteered by the mage order you're also part of?

And did you also just ask Lucanis to stop accepting contracts for King Markus cuz 27 or so are enough and you're actively running out of excuses as for why he's still alive and the crows continue to fail? Did you really just ask Lucanis as a friend, coworker and Spites kindergarten teacher to please stop endangering the Watchers coup d'etat?

Is Neverra okay? You guys know your Mortalitasi have noble blood ties, right? Are the fucking Watchers trying to take over the government entirely by utilising their own and some unaffiliated Mortalitasi? What exactly was Johanna attempting to do cuz as a Mortalitasi and Watcher herself she should fucking know what's going on with Nevarras King and Government, or the lack thereof? You pretty much already reigned over Nevarra, why go out of your way to craft the XXL undead? Some political divide within the ranks of the Mortalitasis and Watchers? Did Johanna want for them to stop the shadow shit and just come out nd declare herself or her groups the new ruling body?

What the fucks going on here? I mean great for them I guess, they're still better than let's say Venatori and the Magisters from all we know but uh, babes yk you're not as clean as yall claim, right? Right?

Also why the fuck is Rook so excited about learning that their order essentially controls the highest instance of government in their homeland? How much was Rook actually involved in that and what the fuck was the infamous uprising rly about cuz a Baron instigating an undead uprising alongside a puppeteered undead King?

What the fuck is actually happening in Nevarra, the Necropolis and what was the correspondence he was trying to write really about?

I mean it's great we established that all death mages are part of the Mortalitasi but not all Mortalitasi also belong to the Mourn Watch. But what the fuck is the Watch actually doing and how politically involved are they really because it sure as fuck sounds like they secretly rule Nevarra and also while we're at it, why do Reapers sound exactly like Reavers, yk, the warrior specialisation that can actually tap into blood magic to some degree and why do a lot of famous Mortalitasi and Watchers know and perform blood magic rituals?

Or in other words; why does the Mourn Watch sound like a group of exceptionally skilled individuals who also all happen to perform blood magic and very intricate rites which also just so happens to have the absolute authority on all matters corpses and all funerary rights alongside an endless supply of said corpses while also ruling an entire country by means of a puppet monarch as they hide within an impenetrable fortress guarded by not only constantly shifting rooms but also an army of undead that they acknowledge are used for defence?

And why isn't the Mourn Watch an antagonistic force cuz they sure as hell don't seem that nice upon closer inspection and they would actually serve as a pretty incredible threat? Like thinking about it they're what the Venatori or Evanuris want to be when they grow up?

Also the Lich Lord Counsil? The entire Mourn Watch being ruled by incredibly strong, immortal mages?

I need answers.

Also I will sure as fuck be using this to expand my canon defying bg3 bullshit further. The Bhaalists already sounded pretty damn close to what the Mourn Watch is doing but uh, don't mind if I do.

as a general footnote: my default canon for emmrich is bringing manfred back and remaining mortal. idk i just feel like his all-encompassing fear of death definitely is unresolved trauma from his parents' deaths, and while others on the team had a better time of working things out - or at least getting a good, solid base for healing - emmrich just...didn't. so working through that for him is a big plot point i want to touch on somewhere.

that being said, that doesn't mean i can't go with lich!emmrich if i want to for stuff. it's just not my preferred state for him.
