Sorry, I think the last 2 anons got confused by my post. I was saying that 1. B went to Nashville on Nov 30 for press. I wasn't talking about their trip together to Nashville this week. 2. Last week people kept insisting that B didn't go back to LA with the family after New Years, but now we know he did bc of the podcast, and then BG left LA last Saturday together, flew into Sherman, went to the duck hunt (maybe G went, maybe she went to the spa nearby) and then the day after the funeral on Tuesday, BG went to Nashville together and then came home to LA today. So basically they have been together almost every single day for the 2 months. (I should have indicated I was talking about B's trip in November in my first post, cuz i feel like anon thought i was talking about this week. Also, for the 2nd anon, I was talking about B going back with the family to LA last week right after new years, not this week.) Side note: I hope whoever gets sad/mad/upset about B hunting every October, feels happy that B and G made up for it by being together basically every single day for the last 2 months, and now we have this month to look forward to, last year In January/Feb they were together for 5 weeks straight. remember the cute B making french fries for G and Gingy IG pics on Jan 24, 2022? Hopefully lots of Shefani cuteness lies ahead!! Anyone else curious about what they did in Nashville this week? If they recorded a new duet, I would be on cloud nine!

WIP Update - 16 Nov 2022
  I missed last week’s update, since I was on vacation, so this one doubles up.  Since 2 Nov - I touched 6 fics (2 WIPs & 3 new works) for a total of 2829 words.
  On Ao3, I posted my Clint & Bruce --> Clint/Bruce hurt/comfort ficlet,  Natasha & Thor mission/ emotional bonding ficlet, and Natasha & Tony post-Endgame reincarnation/afterlife ficlet. On Tumblr I posted a pre-war Steve & Bucky getting together ficlet,    a Bucky & Tony as college roommates ficlet and a WinterIron protective Bucky ficlet, as well as a Natasha/Bruce A:AoU semi-compliant ficlet.
Am still at 12 active WIPs  (with a couple of maybe TBCs)  with my current   deadlines being   Comfortember and  Avengers Bingo, with  Man with a Plan, Starkbucks and Hero Hardships coming in close behind!
See below cut for the WIPs  (arranged more or less by bingos/challenges/etc) I am working on  -   feel free to send me prompts or plot bunnies as well as asks regarding any of these projects   (or any other WIPs I’ve got out there) – they really help feed the Muse and keep me motivated!
Reforged - A WinterIron Zine [Deadline 12 Nov]
I got accepted to submit a  1k-3.5k fic for this project, and have submitted a basic idea &  belatedly completed the final checkin.   With help from Illogicalkat, I managed to get 3800 words edited down to just under the max word count and submitted with a couple of days to spare.  I’ll make sure to let y’all know when pre-orders open!
Comfortember  [Runs thru 30 Nov]
Taking on the @comfortember  writing challenge - I assembled a tracking doc and am aiming to complete one fill a week, preferably crossing over with a bingo fill.    I’ve posted fills for  Day 3: Warm Food and Day 16: Shelter  - hope to get a few more in.   banged out
Avengers Bingo [AvB] (Runs thru 24 Dec )
Eleven fills posted (10 to Ao3)  and 0 WIPs - I decided to further challenge myself on this 16-square card by pairing up each square with a unique combo of 2 original MCU Avengers, with the final square being PolyVengers. With the help of the STB Enthusiasts Discord folks - I’ve got all 16 squares  planned out, at least in terms of who to write about, and half of them have some sort of idea or crossover square to go along with them. Feel free to toss other plot  bunnies my way…
* B3 - Road Trip  -  Bruce & Thor  - Post Grandmaster, pre-Thanos  space shenanigans
 * B2 - Healer AU -  posted Things Gone Wrong (But Also Going Right) - t Ao3 - it’s a getting-together Bruce/Clint ficlet that also filled 3 of the October writing challenge prompts.   It came in at 551 words.
* B4 - Age Gap   - Thor/Tony - possible crossover with TSB One Night Stand  (obvious title: Thunderstruck)
* C1 - Opposites Attract - Clint/Thor  - there was a fun Tumblr  headcanon going around about a Bumbling Foreigner whose ignorance of  local customs  results in him flirting with/proposing to the prince -  this seems like a perfect matchup!
* C2 - Soft under Hard Exterior Trope -  posted Opening Up, Step by Step  to Ao3 yesterday - it’s a Natasha & Thor kinda-sorta mission fic that also fills the @fictober-event prompt “You know I’d do anything.” and @flufftober First Dance prompts.  It came in at 330 words.
* C3 - Reincarnation AU  -  filled this with  A Unexpected Reunion  - a Tony & Natasha post-Endgame ficlet that also filled a  Flash Fiction Friday prompt: [#FFF172 A Ghost from the Past]  It was posted to Ao3  this morning.
* D1 - Friends w/ Benefits  - Clint/Steve - crossover with MWAPB Hawkeye/Clint Barton and possibly SRB - Never Have I Ever
* D2 - Romeo & Juliet AU  -  basic idea:  Steve (jock) & Tony  (geek) trying out for title roles in R&J - despite their respective  FWB groups thinking it’s a terrible idea.  Title:  Two Polycules, Alike in Dignity
* D3 - Bed Sharing  -  posted Finding Refuge here to Tumblr earlier today -  it’s a  Natasha/Bruce fic that is Age of Ultron based (divergent) and also fills today’s  Comfortember Day 16 prompt: Shelter.
Man With a Plan (Steve Rogers) Bingo [MWAPB] (Runs thru 31 Dec)
Thirteen fills, 2 WIPs and several Vague Ideas/potential cross fills with other bingos.  Prompts cheerfully accepted!
* B3 - Farmer’s Market  -  crossover with TSB Doing Groceries. Moodboard + ficlet?
* B5 - “I don’t really want to wake up yet” - filled this a bit ago with Promises to Keep  posted here on Tumblr; it’s an established Stony ficlet with bonus Rhodey appearance that also filled a FFF  No Rest for the Wicked prompt and three October writing challenge prompts.  It came in at 453 words and will get posted to Ao3 sometime before the end of the year.
* I1 - Steve is here for TFAtWS  - this might go well with my BBB  “Oh, hell no"  square - Steve trolling  Bucky & Sam by sending the old man in with his shield?  (moodboard & ficlet?)
* N1 - School AU/Teacher AU  - if I decide to continue on with Technicalities   - I could fill this square  :: ponders::
* N2 - Checkers  - am combining this with my  TSB  AU: Western square  to pick back up the partially-started second chapter of  Come Down From Your Fences  (And Open the Gate)  It’s coming in at 962 words and will get posted either this or next Friday.
* N3 - Online shopping - this might be fun as a crossover with BBB Thighs  Sam buys a revealing swimsuit for Bucky as a gag that gets Steve in a tizzy.
* N4 - Soulmates -  got inspired by a dream to start a Stucky fantasy AU (magician!Steve/ensorcelled!Bucky) that @bill-longbow  is collaborating on with me.  This will also fill my Stucky Bingo AU: Supernatural square.  We’re currently sitting at 1640 words  (984-ish of which are mine). Current Last Line:  "My men will accompany you back to Brookline in the morning.”
* G4 - Canon Divergence post CA:TWS - possible  crossover with BBB  Kill List – Bucky wreaking havoc on Hydra bases and  Steve & Sam catch up with him
* G5 - Friends to Lovers -  might use this for Chapter 3 of Mutual Pinning
*  O2 - Sex Pollen  -  Teenage Groot pollen =  aphrodisiac  hi-jinks. Quill & Gamora  warn the  couple (stucky)/throuple (Stuckony)  ahead of time, so no  dub-con.
* O3 - Hawkeye/Clint Barton  -  see AvB - Friends w/ Benefits  above.
StarkBucks Bingo - Round 3  (SBB_R3) - Ends 31 Dec
Eleven fills (eight posted to Ao3), 1 WIPs and several Vague Ideas - soliciting plot bunnies or other kick-starters.
* B1 - “I wouldn’t mind wasting my time on you.“  - Possible crossover with  BBB - KINK: Seduction Mission?
* I2 - Mistaken Identity - crossover with TSB K5 - Protectiveness -  “The Mechanic, The Soldier & The Artist” - mob/assassin AU with a Mr. & Mrs. Smith twist?
* I4 - Canon: Avengers Academy  - will probably do Stuffed Marvels sketches of Tony and Winter, as I know very little about the game/canon.
* I5 - Matchmaker Bots - possible crossover with TSB Occupational Hazard
* N2 - Blanket - Thanks to the July BBB Discord party , I have an idea for combining this with my BBB Funeral square as a second chapter of  Borrowing Trouble (see O3 below)
* N5 - “Wanna make a bet?”  Used this in combination with the Day 18  Fictober (“I don’t think this is your problem.”)  and Flufftober  (Soulmate AU) prompts for  Marked-Up Soulmarks  - a soulmate AU where Tony discovers he and Steve have something (and someone) in common. I may expand on this before posting it to Ao3 and/or claiming it as an official fill. Currently coming in at 418 words.
* O1 - Royalty - crossover with TSB - IronWidow  &  BBB   AU: Arranged Marriage -  pick Lady Natasha’s Consort and Lord Steve’s Companion  back up?
* O3 - “Shh… I’m sleeping.”    Posted Borrowing Trouble to Tumblr  on the 4th - it crosses over with my TSB AU: College square as well as #FFF175 Gloomy Daze.  It came in at 875 words and as noted above, I’ve got a second chapter in mind to incorporate my SBB Blanket as well as BBB Funeral squares.
* O6 - AU: Biker  - Grease 2  fusion  anyone?  😁  I watched the movie a couple of weeks ago and took notes -  It’s not gonna be a faithful adaptation, but hopefully fun - tho am having a tough time deciding who is Michael (probably Bucky, tho a case could be made for Tony)
Hero Hardships Bingo  [HHB]  (Runs thru 31 Dec)
One fill so far  with a few Vague Ideas …  need to see what might play well with belated Whumptober prompts!
* I3 - Unimaginable Grief  – I‘m thinking an post-Endgame Rhodey POV would work nicely here…
* O3 - Dating a civilian -  this would fit perfectly with another chapter of Takin’ What They’re Givin’ (‘Cause I’m Workin’ for a Livin’) , for which I currently have a basic plot point or two rolling around in my head.
Bucky Barnes Bingo - Round 4 [BBB_R4] (Runs thru 7 Jan 2023)
Twelve fills,  four WIPs  & ideas for everything except one square  - Working on a Column B bingo to start.
* B2 - Funeral - see SBB N2 - Blanket  above
* B3 - Sam Wilson|Falcon - this would be a good candidate for a continuation of After One Or Two False Starts
* U2 - AU: Roommate  - Still wanting to use the Meet Ugly prompt: 02. I bought a house three months ago but I’m finally moving in and discover you’ve been squatting because you’re homeless    – probably WinterHawk with  recovering!Bucky being the squatter in Clint’s apartment building.
* U4 - AU: Arranged Marriage - will probably pick Lady Natasha’s Consort and Lord Steve’s Companion  back up for this one.
* U5 - Kill List -  see MWAP  - G4 - Canon Divergence.  Post CA:TWS above
* C2 - “Oh, hell no” - possible crossover with MWAP I1 - Steve is here for TFaWS
* C4 - KINK: Aftercare -  possibly MWAP Sex Pollen or  TSB KINK: Concubine
*C5 - “This might as well happen” -  Used this for the Sept BBB Round Robin  (crackfic - Emperor’s New Groove inspired)  wrote 276 words toward it  - not sure if/when it will post,  but will add a link when it does.   😁
* K3 - KINK: Edging  - crossing over with TSB KINK: Orgasm Denial/Edging & I finally got a start on the WinterIron PWP for this (Bucky POV with toy play and Tony as a power bottom)  Hanging by a Moment is sitting at 96 words at the moment.
* Y2 - Never the fall that kills you -  this might be the title for a reverse hanahaki WinterIron prompt from @lacrimula-falsa ….
* Y4 - KINK: Seduction Mission - crossover with SBB - B1 - “I wouldn’t mind wasting my time on you.”
* ADOPTED1 - Peggy Carter -  potential WW3some shenanigans ahead - another 3 prompts –> Summary inspiration   currently  395 words into a  Peggy & Bucky conversation at the moment.
Steve Rogers Bingo - Round 2  (SRB_R2) - Ends 31 Jan
Fourteen fills posted  & 0 WIPs at the moment   – happily accepting plot bunnies here as well.
* A1 - Never Have I Ever -  see AvB  Friends with Benefits
* A4 - Touch Attention/Denial  - I have an idea for this that will also fill (heh) my Stucky Bingo  KINK - Double Penetration square.
* B2 - Mile High Club -  this seems made for Stony sexy shenanigans…
* E2 - Comics Nomad Steve  - SWC sketch of Nomad!Steve
Tony Stark Bingo - Round 6  (TSB_R6)  [Ends 28 Feb]
Twelve fills and three WIPs at the moment -    with  Vague Ideas for almost every other square.
* T1 - One Night Stand - see AvB - B4 - Age Gap
* T2 - Doing Groceries - see MWAP B3 - Farmer’s Market
* T3 - Pepper Potts/Rescue -  some sort of remix of/inspired by sabrecmc’s  Indecent Proposal  from Pepper’s POV.  At this point, I think I need to re-read the fic & take notes …
* T4 - KINK: Concubine - possible crossover with   BBB C4 - KINK: Aftercare?
* A4 - AU: College - see SBB “Shh… I’m sleeping.”
*A5 - Scott Lang  - @27dragons shared an interesting plot bunny during the Sept TSB Discord party that I may end up using; that or a follow up to A Piece of the Action
* R1 - Tony’s Poor Life Choices - @somesortofitalianroast had the excellent idea to turn this on its head - now that he’s with [partner of your choice] - he’s making fewer poor life choices?
* R2 - IronWidow -  next chapter of Lady Natasha’s Consort and Lord Steve’s Companion ?
* R4 - Occupational Hazard - see SBB I5 - Matchmaker Bots
* K2 - Secret Admirer -  carried this over from last round so I could try my hand a remix of Seeds of Love  (WinterIron hanahaki fic by the super-talented @hddnone).  Potential title:  Wraps Around My Heart, Refusing to Unwind
* K3 - KINK: Orgasm Denial/Edging -  see BBB KINK: Edging
* K5 - Protectiveness -  see SBB Mistaken Identity
* ADOPTED2 - AU: Western  - see MWAP Checkers
Stucky Bingo Round Four [SB_R4] (Ends 31 May 2023
Four fills and three WIPs with a couple of other vague ideas.
* B4 - Artist/Muse - posted  A Work of Heart  to Tumblr  on Saturday.  It came in at coming in at 650 words and filled Day 29 of   Fictober (”You love this, don’t you?”) , Flufftober (Leaves) and Whumptober (”Better me than you.”)  Coming to Ao3 before the end of the year.
* B5 - KINK: Double Penetration - see SRB   Touch Attention/Denial  above.
* O4 - AU: Supernatural - see MWAPB Soulmates  above.
*O5 - Innocence - used this for my addition (346 words) to the Stucky November Round Robin fic that we worked on for last weekend’s Discord party.  It’s a super-cute accidental kidfic fic with bonus fanart - I’ll make sure to share it here once it’s done and posted!
* I1 -  1930′s - I wrote  Casting Bread Upon the Waters  - a pre-war platonic Stucky ficlet  as a crossover with Comfortember Day 3: Warm Food, as well as this month’s bingo challenge - Cooking/Baking.  It came in at 455 words and will be posted to Ao3 sometime before the end of the year (possibly end of the month)
I also adopted the Writing Format: Remix one of your fics  square  – am thinking of taking one of my Stony or WinterIron  No Powers fics and adapting it to a Stucky pairing – if you have any requests - hit me up!
WinterIron - No Powers AU  –  Stony No Powers AU
————
On other creative fronts:  I have a Nadja (from What We Do in the Shadows) Stuffed With Character figure in progress. Am also finalizing the seven (!!!)  figures to create for my three Marvel Trumps Hate  auction winners – thanks so much for your generous support!!  Finally, I am prepping for a superhero con in March - so am pretty well booked up through at least the end of the year.
That said, if you’re looking for one of a kind gifts for birthdays or other celebrations, check  out Stuffed With Character   over on Facebook for a full list of my designs (now over 80!).   They’re  mostly Marvel and monsters, but I have some Star Wars, Star Trek, DC   and Disney figures as well. Plus I love to take custom design  requests  for any fandom!

Trumped Blamed for GOP Failures
LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), Nov. 13, 2022.--Blaming Trump for the poor showing in the Nov. 8  Midterms, the Republican Party has piled on 76-year-old President Donald Trump, completely missing the real reasons for the lack of results.  Losing the Senate again, the GOP has little clout in the remaining two years of the Biden administration where it’s possible for Democrats to continue profligate spending that could send the country into a protracted recession.  But when it comes to Trump, all the anti-Trump forces have come out of the woodwork, scapegoating Truth for the GOP’s turn to the extreme right.  When Trump ran for president in 2016, ironically he was slammed by his GOP for being a “New York liberal”  Today, Trump’s MAGA brand has morphed into the most extreme end of the GOP, culminating Jan. 6, 2021 with white nationalist groups aping out on the U.S. Capitol in utterly unsightly riots.
Republicans, Democrats and independents have “Trump fatigue,” no longer finding him electable, regardless of his four-year track record of low-inflation growth and peace overseas.  Yet the U.S. press has it in for Trump, giving him zero credit for his many accomplishments in the economy and foreign policy.  Today, 79-year-old President Joe Biden has opted to wreck decades of diplomacy with Russia and China, leaving the U.S. in the worst national security place since WW II.  Unlike Trump, Biden, since taking office, has wrecked U.S.-Russian and U.S.-Chinese relations, to the point that the U.S. prosecutes in Ukraine a proxy war against the Russian Federation.  Biden, for some unknown reason, has a consensus in Congress using the old anti-Russian claptrap, saying 70-year-old Russian President  Vladimir Putin is trying to take over Europe--complete rubbish to justify the Ukraine War.
Midterm elections sent a loud message to Republicans that the party has lurched too far to the right.  When the Supreme Court ruled June 24 against Roe v. Wade, taking away a women’s medical decision-making, the GOP cheered, showing relief after living with Roe v. Wader for nearly 53 years.  Republicans, especially the most conservative ones, got what they wanted, robbing a women of their medical rights.  Democrats and the press like to blame newly minted conservatives on the U.S. Supreme Court like Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch, all Trump appointees.  But Chief Justice John Roberts and justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Aliton all joined the 6-3 ruling.  Exit polling for the Nov. 8 Midterms showed the youth voters under 40-years-old and single women turned completely off to the Republican Party, not for one election maybe forever.
Republican Party under the anti-abortion crowd has turned the part of Lincoln into an extremist political party, consumed with issues irrelevant to ordinary voters.  While most voters want peace-and-prosperity, something not happening under Biden, the divided nation requires the GOP to show some sensitivity to mainstream thinking.  Only 25% of the electorate opposes abortion, that leaves 75% that agreed with the basic principle of Roe v. Wade:  That women have a Constitutional right to medical-decision making.  Ripping away women’s rights was not the way for the GOP to win friends and influence people.  Whether Trump announces his 2024 run Tuesday or not, the GOP has real problems going forward in any 2024 election.  Democrats no longer need Biden to run in 2024.  Any number of younger candidates, including Calif. Gov. Gavin Newsom, would beat any generic Republican candidate.
When it comes to Trump’s chosen candidates losing in the Nov. 8 Midterms, it’s unreasonable to blame Trump.  Take 63-year-old former TV talk show host Mehmet Oz, he just didn’t persuade enough Pennsylvania voters that his brain damaged rival, 53-year-old John Fetterman was unfit.  What does Trump have to do with any candidates’ ability to influence voters?  Conservative media pundit Anne Coulter, 60, went ape on Trump, blaming him for the GOP mess.  But Coulter and other conservatives don’t want to admit that the GOP is no a longer viable party for national elections. If you can’t appeal to young people or single women, what’s left for the party?  Only appealing to the geriatric population?  Trump, whether he likes it or not, falls into the same category as Sen. Mitch McConnelll (R-Ky.), aging leaders that needs to step aside so a new general of leaders can eventually rescue the party.
Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel needs to take a serious inventory of the GOP’s direction heading into 2024.  Whether or not Trump’s in the picture, the GOP must appeal of young voters and single moms, not by gloating about the Supreme Court’s wrecking ball, ending Roe v. Wade.  McDaniel must take seriously the very real prospect that that GOP, as configured today, is no longer competitive in national elections. Trump’s MAGA base only represents 25% of the electorate, not enough to win another presidential election.  Republicans must start over by proving to voters that they’re not the party to take away women’s rights or any other rights for that matter.  Partisan hacks, like Coulter, want to point fingers but they don’t want to take an honest inventory of the Republican Party.  No party in U.S. history has celebrated its own self-destruction.

ANIMATE SCATTER PLOT MATPLOTLIB HOW TO
ANIMATE SCATTER PLOT MATPLOTLIB UPDATE
ANIMATE SCATTER PLOT MATPLOTLIB SERIES
By updating the data to plot and using set_3d_properties, you can animate the 3D scatter plot.
ANIMATE SCATTER PLOT MATPLOTLIB HOW TO
This page shows how to generate 3D animation of scatter plot using animation.FuncAnimation, python, and matplotlib.pyplot. # plot_time_series.py plt.plot_date (dates, y, linestyle = ‘solid’ ) How to generate a 3D scatter plot in Python? If we want to create a line plot instead of the scatter plot, we will have to set linestyle=’solid’ in plt.plot_date ().
ANIMATE SCATTER PLOT MATPLOTLIB SERIES
How to create a line plot in Matplotlib?Ĭreating a line plot from time series data in Python Matplotlib. In addition to the above described arguments, this function can take a data keyword argument. The exception is c, which will be flattened only if its size matches the size of x and y. How does the Scatter function in Matplotlib work?įundamentally, scatter works with 1D arrays x, y, s, and c may be input as N-D arrays, but within scatter they will be flattened. For details, see the corresponding parameter in plot. If xdate or ydate is True, the respective values x or y are interpreted as Matplotlib dates. The parameters of _date () are shown in the table below:- The coordinates of the data points. set_offsets expects a Nx2 ndarray and you provide a tuple of two 1d arrays. Any suggestions on how to correctly animate a scatter plot using the animation package? The only problem with your example is how you fill the new coordinates in the animate function. The animated plot also flashes several dots during each frame of animation. How to correctly animate a scatter plot using the animation package? In this article we’ll demonstrate that using a few examples. The data values will be put on the vertical (y) axis. Matplotlib supports plots with time on the horizontal (x) axis. Is there a way to plot time in Matplotlib? The plotted graphs when added with animations gives a more powerful visualization and helps the presenter to catch a larger number of audience. It can also be used as an animation tool too. Matplotlib library of Python is a plotting tool used to plot graphs of functions or figures. – ImportanceOfBeingErnest Nov 24 ’18 at 23:34 How is Matplotlib used as an animation tool? Only use this if performance is not critical for you. Since this uses ArtistAnimation, it will create 100 scatter plots in memory, which is rather inefficient. This method of making animations used 4.2 MiB of memory in sum. How much memory does it take to animate a scatter plot?Ĭreating 100 plots used 1.9 MiB. Today we’ll see how to use Mapbox with Plotly within a dash application, and how to create animated scatter maps. To tackle that weakness, Plotly made a partnership with Mapbox. Plotly has some basic built-in maps plots: enough to show data, but not as nice as 2020 web maps should be. How to create Outstanding Animated scatter maps with Plotly? In this case, we need not clear every figure as a scatter plot generally represents a distinct point in the plane and the points have very little chance of overlapping.
ANIMATE SCATTER PLOT MATPLOTLIB UPDATE
However, to make a real-time scatter, we can just update the values of x and y and add scatter points in each iteration. Can you make a scatter plot in real time? That is our goal today: Animate a scatter plot in 3D with Matplotlib. Furthermore, an animation module also allows for dynamical plotting. It was originally developed for 2D plots, but was later improved to allow for 3D plotting.

DAY 5001
Jalsa, Mumbai                     Nov 1/2,  2021                     Mon/Tue  1:24 AM
Birthday Ef - Erlika, Indonesia .. Tuesday, November 2 .. and our wishes for you on this special day .. enjoy .. ❤️🌹
The greatest learnings in the times of today are the moments spent with the contestants on the Hot Seat at KBC ..
What you expect you never get and you get what you never expected  .. the teachings from them are simply the very epitome of basics that we are given to understand from the time of our parents taught us or guided us to the ultimate .. the ultimate pinnacle of our desires .. professionally .. or domestically or just about every other ‘ally’ ..
And when you spend time with some of the most talented and accomplished from the Shaandaar Shukravar , it is a delight that lives with you even after you have gone by ..
An entire day at the KBC sets is a roller coaster ride of emotions , genius and comedic interludes ..specially when the quality of them that sit before you, cannot ever be matched , with time .. and that is the truth ..
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
.... so the many inquire about my fracture and about the quality and legitimacy of the shoes that I needs must wear for the protection of their child .. is all given publicly , for whatever it is worth ..
We do not know .. but one of the gentlemen on the show did express delight at the thought of a picture with me .. which he had saved through years of madness ..
But that is random .. I was thinking it was immediate .. like above ..
Heck .. the eyes they burn and the thought prevails to step back into the comfort of the duvet and sleep it out before there is an internal revolt on the show ..
But seriously though the amount of work that goes into the making of an episode is worth an exercise , and the title could be ..
well leave it you to suggest , but keep it simple and attractive enough to draw immediate attention ..
may I beg leave .. may I be given the right and the might to depart for the night bliss ..
.. and the answer is ..
is ..
.. is
... is
Tumblr media
.. what a superior effort .. thank you Mili .. my affection and love ..
O dear ... its getting shaky and unpredictable .. so do pardon the mighty pen and observe the Day with the kindness of soul, and the perseverance of one that ever shall refuse to give up ..
My love to all ..

Today was my last day of treatment/last day of php. It was kind of a weird day. I started off really depressed. We had breakfast and then went to our first group. The group leader said we were going to play charades which I really didn’t want to do. But the other people in the group turned it into Pictionary and soon we were all laughing and joking and having a great time. I didn’t even realize I was getting into it until group was almost over. When group was over I thought about how I desperately needed that moment of laughter. It was probably the first time I’ve genuinely laughed in weeks. For just a few moments I had some relief from the heavy depression I’ve been experiencing. The next group wasn’t as active but we still had fun. (It’s Saturday programming and everyone was complaining how Saturday programming is too emotional so they decided to make Saturday’s a little easier) After that group we had lunch. The conversation at lunch was good but food/behaviors was really hard. We had one more group, then snack, then it was over.
Throughout the day I kept thinking how this is the last time for___. This is the last time I’ll portion my meal, the last time I’ll be supplemented, the last time I’ll be sitting in the chair up front, journaling, this is the last time I’ll feel out a daily check-in. And today I didn’t need to fill out a food journal because no one will be reading it on Monday. Gathering my stuff at the end of the day, saying goodbye to the PCT’s, and walking out the doors for the last time was also very sad. It still doesn’t feel real. It feels like I will be going back like normal on Monday. But I won’t.
Last weekend, when the nurse talked to me, she made me repeat a few things (one was that I am a badass bitch!). The other was that I am safe everywhere. I told her I am not, especially not at home. She repeated that I am safe because I have the power to keep my myself safe. The thing is, I rarely feel (emotionally) safe. Everything is always scary. But this outpatient PHP/iop treatment center really, really became a safe place for me. I could express all the distorted, trauma based, thoughts in my head and no one would judge me. In fact, instead they would give me support. Getting that support was so important to me. I am going to miss the staff so much.
Right now, I am at home after the day is over. I’m pretty sad but I’ve managed to keep myself busy/distracted for most of the evening. I’m grasping at straws to keep myself going and right now that’s the very slim hope that my (former) outpatient therapist will take my new insurance and allow me to continue to see her. Reminding myself of things she has told me is the only thing really keeping me feeling safe. I can put on “therapist” me when I need to but outside of that I’m afraid I might completely collapse if I do lose my outpatient therapist.
The thing is, I probably won’t have a therapist for a few months unless that therapist specializes in eating disorders and takes both my current insurance and the insurance I will have through work in a couple of months. Where I live most therapists that specialize in eating disorders don’t take any insurance and are only private pay. If I’m going to pay out of pocket to begin with I will see my current therapist since the whole reason she wanted me to switch is to see someone covered by my insurance. (I might as well private pay her). But if I see a new therapist I won’t be able to see them until my new insurance kicks in at the end of Nov. I don’t know if I can wait that long. I won’t be seeing my outpatient dietitian for at least a month either. I’m basically feeling my way in the dark because I have so little professional support. I really don’t know how I’m going to get through everything. I feel very alone.

had an absolutely brutal (but good) therapy session today, and at one point towards the end my therapist was like "what's a kindness you can show yourself tonight?" and i was like "idk. i wanted to order tacos last night but i made them instead, so i should have those leftovers for dinner."
and her response was "is there any conceivable reason why you should not, in fact, order tacos tonight? homemade tacos and delivery tacos are fundamentally different. will your leftovers keep a few days? would delivery tacos taste good and bring you pleasure?"
she's a really good therapist. i hope, if you're in a position to be able to do so, you all find a good therapist too.

my elementary school-aged niece: Owl, I have a question about vegan stuff.
me: oh nice yeah, what do you want to know?
my niece: okay so if two vegans get into like a serious fight, is it still called a ‘beef’ or is it an ‘impossible beef’?
me, absolutely fucking losing it: kiddo you are hilarious

Grammy Nominations and Live Shows OH MY!!
LOUIS’ BACK!!! And I don’t mean “oh he liked something on Instagram” or “oh he tweeted about a RHCP concert”, I mean he’s going to be doing a VEEPS LIVESHOW! And so we solve the mystery of the Spotify vids (they were a stage!): a few hours before the announcement, he tweeted, “Hope you’re all doing alright. Exciting stuff coming up!!”, and then left the masses to wonder what could possibly be happening and when. Three anxious hours later: “So excited to announce that I’m getting my band and crew back together to put on a special show for you all that will be streamed December 12 [!!!adkhfkadhfjj!!!] and will be available for 28 hours after. The show will support 5 important causes very close to my heart”. The causes Louis Tomlinson Live From London will support are FareShare (they redistribute food to communities in need), CrewNation (the LiveNation COVID crew fund), StageHand (similar to CrewNation, but UK based), Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, and paying Louis' own touring crew! The tickets go on sale TOMORROW. If you can't afford one, Luke Massie (founder and CEO of Vibe Tickets) is giving funds away on twitter to fans who want to watch the show! “I’ll do my best to help as many of you as I can see him and his amazing crew perform,” he said. Louis has said that there is no cap on the ticket sales, so I’m taking him at his word and hoping that Veeps is prepared for what's about to happen (they're REALLY not lol.)
And that’s not all!! The press release for the show promised “songs from… ‘Walls”...alongside a few surprises” (I - could it - new music????), as well as “an exclusive range of new merchandise” that comes out tomorrow! The merch proceeds will go to the charities listed above. And! The Telegraph published an interview! Louis promises AN UPCOMING NEW ALBUM (“I had basically penciled down a plan before corona took over our lives”). He says again that he wants to move into the KMM style rock sound, “I think there were some songs where I took slightly more risk and owned what I love, saying, this is who I want to be..there is a certain energy in [KMM], in its delivery, in its attitude, that I want to recreate. People are struggling at the moment so I want to create a raucous, exciting atmosphere in my live show, not a somber, thoughtful one.” He says that he wants this next album to be more optimistic, because that is who he is, but new songwriting is HARD during a pandemic: for him (like for all of us), his days have fallen into a routine, and so he has no ‘new experiences’ to draw from. And, once again, Louis brings up John Frusciante and how he “fucking wishes” he could chat with him. Louis - drop your RHCP stan account PLEASE! We also learned that fans were RIGHT in speculating that he’s been in LA recently (though likely not for the reason the Telegraph wants us to think). About his travels, Louis says, “[The spot he goes to] is remote and kind of weird, and I’m going to go there for three days and write. I don’t know why I’m so drawn to it... it’s got some very interesting (peculiar?) locals who live there...it feels like you’re going back in time when you’re there.” ANY COMMENT, @/visiteroda??? And, in a rare look ahead, Louis reveals that he wants to manage an all-women’s rock band playing instruments (hey, friend, you know where women could play instruments? YOUR OWN BAND, MY DUDE! Just a suggestion). He said that his process with Syco had become “challenging and frustrating” because the kinds of artists he wants to develop aren’t “ready-made” - he sees a lot of artists that were “rough and ready” but labels want to see “something that works straight away”. But with Syco dust in the wind he can get back to it: HELL YEAH! The band he’s currently got his eyes on is Fickle Friends (an indie Brighton all-female rock band); he says this is the kind of band he wants to manage, “because there’s no one in that space. And I know eventually if I don’t do it, someone else will!”. Guys, I say this a lot, but really, Louis is about to make some WAVES in that space and I can’t WAIT to see it play. But first the concert, please!
AND!!!!!! Harry has been NOMINATED FOR THREE FUCKING GRAMMYS!! GUYS, HE MADE IT! The categories he is up for are: Best Music Video (Adore You - the TASTE), Best Pop Solo Performance (Watermelon Sugar), and BEST POP VOCAL ALBUM! I know that we’re always like, Grammys mean nothing, and how can we feel otherwise 1D was never nominated, but this is a MILESTONE in his career, and I am so happy to see his work getting the recognition it deserves! There were no nominations for him in the general field this year (artist or record of the year) BUT just you WAIT. Everything that Harry does makes me think that he is gearing up for a very long and successful career and I am. Very Happy for him. And so is everyone else! Harry’s friends, family, colleagues, and labels have all been quick to congratulate him on his well deserved recognition. In other Harry news, we got some stills from an Austrailian movie called “Holding the Man” which bear remarkable similarities to the Golden music video. (Were Harry's Vans really in there as a tribute to the film or did that part just work out very well for him??) The movie and the song don’t have anything in common thematically except being gay, but it really looks like a visual homage to this film (or, my personal theory, a fix-it fic to give it a happy ending!). And! Harry was papped on the DWD set with Florence Pugh again today, in a suit and an opulent background - it’s hard to make out Harry’s face, but I think we can guess that it's beaming in pride, as it should be.
GQ Spain did a piece on Liam’s Hugo capsule, praising it for being “the utilitarian style” (“the star trend of 2020”). They’re very nice about it, and seem to be genuinely interested and like the color scheme of the clothes: “the monocolor look...is an irrefutable argument in men’s clothing”. They also praise the collection for being an example that “you don’t need to spend hours in front of a mirror to dress like the best dressed men on the planet”. All of these were meant to be compliments, I SWEAR! Niall was around on Twitter yesterday, reminiscing about the time when some fans asked Justin Beiber to take pictures of them with Niall, it's true Niall that IS hilarious and also good psychic timing: that's EXACTLY how relevant Justin Beiber should be (yes I AM bitter the Weeknd was ROBBED). He also congratulated Shawn Mendes for his documentary, “So proud of this boy. He’s smashed it and always so humble. Well done to everyone involved.X”. I have not seen this documentary but if there are any more “Camila Cabello orders bananas at sushi restaurants moments” PLEASE let me know!

Boarding Update: New Digs & Lessons Learned
Well, November to early December was an interesting time for Mitzy and I.
Out of the blue one night during the beginning of Nov, my (now former) BO came up to me and told me I needed to find new boarding for my horse. That was a massive shock to me as my understanding of how our time there had been going didn’t give any indication we had anything remotely close to an issue. I’d not personally had any issues handling my horse and hadn’t heard of anything from the BO about her or her husband having a contrary experience. I had also explicitly written into my boarding contract that I wanted to be told of any difficulties in handling her so that I could address those in my training sessions with her. I had asked on countless occasions “Oh, how has Mitzy been for you guys?” and been told resoundingly how great she was.  /dnr
To then be told my horse was no longer welcome and that she’d reportedly been dangerous to handle was a huge slap to the face. I could hardly form a coherent thought at the time but did ask “How long has this been going on and why wasn’t I told earlier?”. Well I get a “We don’t tell boarders every little thing that their horse does” as a response before she launches into how apparently my horse was also destroying fences. I’m out there nearly daily, at least 6 days a week, and had never seen the fences in a state of disrepair. Maybe the chicken wire was bowed out a little, but that’s about it. Again, I ask how long has this been happening and why wasn’t I told. Allegedly “the whole time” and she’s tired of “fixing things my horse breaks”. If my horse was dangerous, I should be told immediately. Considering I’ve not had any issues leading my horse or handling my horse I’m not sure what I would’ve done to “fix” the behavior but I would’ve done something. Even if that something was only offering myself to personally do turnout for her. If my horse is damaging fences to such an extent, I should be told. I would’ve been happy to pay for fence repairs & offer my labor as well.
The more information I try to get the more the picture is coming together of my horse not being the issue (thank God). “Well you know how difficult she is to halter”--- no, my horse self-halters. “You know how she can be”--- no, I know my horse to be extremely easy to handle on the ground for a 2 year old. “Well since Fendi freaks out, she’s been galloping around, rearing, and bucking when it’s time to go in for dinner and she reared up on my husband when he tried to halter her today since I grab Fendi so he can get Mitzy and bring her in at the same time”--- your not a horse person husband is who has to go and get a 2 year old who is amped up by another frantic horse? After you’ve assured me that you or the girl in your employ would be the people to handle my horse since I was concerned about that? That seemed like a sound idea in your head?
I can’t discount the fact that all it takes for a situation to be unsafe is for the handler to feel it’s unsafe. If they’ve decided my horse is dangerous for them to handle then it doesn’t matter how she handles for myself, my friends, or experienced horse people. She’s dangerous for them. She self-halters if you stand at her side, but sure she’ll freak out if you come head on. She’s extremely easy to handle, but if she spooks it’s big and you need to not get scared of that. Or if she’s being feisty you just need to be confident in shutting it down and know how to handle a hot horse. She’s a 2 year old decently hot WB who recently shot up in size, it doesn’t matter how comparably easy she is to other 2 year old WBs if you’ve never handled one before.
So, knowing I couldn’t necessarily get her out immediately I offered a few solutions. A) Keep her stalled 24/7 until she moves or B) I can take her out in the morning and bring her in at night. “Keeping her in won’t fix her attitude.” Oh... so there’s the rub. There’s a fundamental misunderstanding in how we view horses and handling them. It’s not just unsafe for you to handle my horse because she’s big and you’re unfamiliar with hotter types, you believe in dominance theory and will hurt yourselves thinking you can be more stubborn than a 1200lb horse. Well, I can bring her in and out then. “She’s only a problem in the evenings.” Okay... well I will have her back in her stall everyday by this time. “I mean if you’re there that’s fine, but we can take her in.” ...Is this a horse you’ve labeled dangerous or is it not? Are you not kicking us out because you don’t think she’s safe to handle or not?
Well... luckily I secure new boarding pretty quickly but unfortunately it takes 3 weeks to move her. Not because that’s when the stall was open but because I’ve never had the opportunity to trailer train my horse. Takes three weekends of trying to get her in a trailer, hiring a shipper so we can get a bigger trailer, some dorm gel to take the edge off, and a literal crew of people to essentially walk her in a foot at a time. In the meantime, before the stars aligned and she finally went in a trailer, I am bringing my horse in before dinner and dealing with increasingly hostile behavior from my (now former) BO and some of the other boarders!
The whole situation has been absolutely bonkers to me because when I shipped her up to this facility I was under the impression that the BO was confident handling young horses. For the longest time everyone would love on her whenever they saw her, always calling her “the baby”, and the BO’s husband in particular would “smuggle” treats to her throughout the day (encouraged by me honestly). Retroactively, I can now see that at the point my horse sprouted up about a hand and had gained a deal more fitness from all her in-hand work... suddenly she was avoided like the plague. I also don’t understand why at no point was I told they had concerns handling my horse, especially around dinner time. I would not cared if my horse came in an hour early everyday so that they didn’t have to compete with the other horse that’s problematic to bring in. Which personally would’ve been the solution that was apparent to me as someone who has worked at a few barns. I also don’t understand how the horse who is a little too hyped up being brought in at dinner is somehow a worse horse to board than the _other _horse who gets crazy at dinner but also needs to be hobbled every single night so she can be stalled (otherwise she does her best to literally bring the walls down). If you’ve found a solution for that horse’s issues (bringing her in first & then hobbling her) then why is there no solution for my horse?
Had I know my horse was being handled by the BO’s husband at a point where her behavior is likely to be less than predictable I wouldn’t have been okay with it. I would’ve volunteered myself to bring her in if it wasn’t possible to simply have them bring her in early. I’d already repeatedly asked to know when the BO was gone at a show so I could bring my horse in from turnout because I did not trust a non-horse person with my 2 year old. No matter how well behaved I think she is, she needs someone who knows horses.
As far as issues with other boarders, they certainly was a contingency of people who seemed to purposefully slam the crossties into the wall when I was in the arena because it would spook my horse. Or similarly see that something was spooking my horse, make eye contact with me, and keep doing it. One woman very plainly made anything she did take about 3 times longer and be 10 times louder than normal if I was trying to work my horse. Notably suddenly choosing to pick out her horse’s paddock (the barn doesn’t do that and I was the only person who they’d ever had who’d asked if they could do that) while I was having some success loading & making such a ruckus that we lost all progress we’d been making. Was it everyone at the barn? No, but there were a few people being very pointed in their behavior and I think it legitimately came down to ye olde Western vs. English superiority complex. Since clearly I should be punished for my 2 year old not being dead quiet like all the semi-retired Quarter Horses.
I think honestly, that’s the entire problem of why we ran into this. This was never a boarding facility I intended to work long-term, I wanted to move Mitzy in the Spring to the barn she’s at now... but I think it ended prematurely comes down to the discipline clash. I think the BO, her family, and the boarders who are her personal friends just have extremely different expectations for how a 2 year old should behave than what I do and what the people I work for do. It’s still standard for AQHA/APHA/AHC to not only have horses under saddle at 2, but to be in a pretty rigorous show schedule (futurities require horses to be started at 18mo). A lot of people think TBs/QHs/QH types mature “faster” than other breeds. The way I’ve learned to regard young horses and the industry standard I accept for starting young horses doesn’t view 2 year olds as adults. Nor are 3 year olds treated to the same stanard as say an 8 year old. Do I absolutely expect basic ground manners and developing in-hand skills? Yes, but I also anticipate 2-4 year olds to be unpredictable! So I’m never surprised when they try to jump out of their skin when a leaf falls too close to them.
I am trying to see this as a learning experience and I think what I’ve learned from this is you really, really need to be compatible in your approach to expectations and handling as your boarding facility (no matter how temporary you plan for that situation to be). There are a lot of glaring issues with the magic of hindsight that point to this being an inevitable conclusion. I am really glad with where she’s at now! She’s at a dressage training/lesson barn that she’ll go into the program there once she starts under saddle. For now I’m just happy to be at a place where I can relax and enjoy my horse again--- plus I can take lessons at

We Made It is out!! [literally redacted for length, me going on and on about how great the song is] But not just that, LT TOUR DATES ARE OUT!! The tour starts in Europe and the UK in March (the Apollo! Donny Dome!), goes international, then wraps up in North America in July, and most of the venues are small and the tickets are on sale in less then two weeks so basically, write your wills/bankruptcy paperwork now cause it's about to get real. Fans are already camping out in South America and TBH they might just have the right idea. We're told there will be "a few more dates" at a "later date" but not soon enough to ease this frenzy I'm guessing. Anyway WMI! The video is out too and continues but doesn't finish the story started in the KMM video- again there's a snippet of the next single at the end and it's Don't Let It Break Your Heart! DLIBYH was recently registered, showing Louis as a performer only, no writing credit, which was surprising. Not clear if he didn't write on it at all or just not enough of it to put his name on there. New writer of note who is credited: Wrabel, a singer songwriter who also runs their own label, Big Gay Records. Louis is in NYC doing promo. He sang at Sirius this morning (airs tomorrow). Also tomorrow Elvis Duran, and he records his Build Series interview in front of a small fan audience. He got papped, just a man, his bodyguard, and his latte casually strolling the streets, and then headed off to a fan meet and greet. If your heart isn't already in tatters from the many many moving fan accounts of Louis taking his time and connecting personally with and loving each one of the lucky fans, how about the picture of Louis jokingly flipping off the huge poster of his own face? And if that hasn't done you in, get ready for Louis asking to hold a baby named Louis and yeah. The cutest fucking Louis+baby pics you'll ever see [commentary redacted] Anyway coverage of the single: lots of quotes about the song and its nostalgic slant, Louis telling all kinds of stories about what inspired the lyrics, and I do mean all kinds! When more than one media outlet comment that he "has shared a few different stories behind what it could mean" you know it's getting shifty out there. So is about the fans, Eleanor, touring (that was a good one!), his mates, or "some other relationship" as one outlet offered? To quote Louis, "I think if the fans really listen to my lyrics you'll know what I'm singing about," and "this song is a message to my fans."
And on the topic of Harry, what is he up to? Well! He's is gonna be on Saturday Night Live on Nov 16, he's gonna fully take it over! That's right he's the host and musical guest and will get to introduce himself and you know he'll make the most of that... He'll be the 28th person to do the double duty which led to much being made of the 28, which led to people crying to Jeff to get the tweet about him being the 28th presenter performer deleted and sue the outlet for announcing it LMAO. Obviously that didn't happen because, what.
Liam's Christmas tune is out and it's a really lovely song! All I Want (for Christmas) was released midnight everywhere so technically not yet lots of places but you know, it's out. The lyric vid is on YouTube, it's the adorable tale of animated game of thrones Liam, his pink haired ex girlfriend (is that the NTMY girl?) and his new significant other, a giant fluffy wolf. And Liam performed tonight (not the new song it was before that.) It wasn't scheduled but he stepped in to fill Rita Ora's slot (she was taken ill and cancelled) to play at the Amazon Music Fashion Europe Event in Berlin. He plays the Kiss Haunted House Party tomorrow night at Wembley, which given that it's Halloween themed I don't expect the Christmas song but who knows.
A new version of NTMY was announced for midnight local time tonight, which it for sure is somewhere (see: Liam's song being out) but I don't see it and honestly it's busy today anyway. Tomorrow for that! But for today, the Niall and Lewis Capaldi friendship test video is out and whatever you were imagining and hoping it would be, it absolutely is. It's Quality Content indeed y'all. It doesn't have a best part, it's all the best part, buuuut Lewis making Niall turn bright red is pretty damn good. Niall will be on Graham Norton Nov 8 as a guest and performer.

Voting in Illinois
Tumblr media
Last week I asked my college students how many of them had ever voted (2 out of a class of 35 had). Only a handful were confident they were registered. I asked a few questions to see how much they knew about the voting process. This week, I put together a resource page and walked them through the myriad of options they had for registering, absentee voting, early voting, day of voting, how to look up their ballot ahead of time, how to research candidates, how to research judges and issues, and talked to them about their trepidation’s around voting. One student asked what this had to do with a business class and I explained at length about the impact that electeds have on everything that could impact their future businesses and the kind of world they want to live in. I then asked them how many of them were taught any of this before- 2 hands went up. I was SO ANGRY FOR THEM. All I hear is how young people don’t do this and they don’t do that and they don’t vote. They don’t vote because we have failed them. How can we expect to have civically engaged citizens if we do not teach them the basic logistics of HOW to vote. We let them graduate high school right at the age when they can first vote and we don’t demand that part of their learning include how to vote let alone how to vote informed. How is it that I have a classroom of voting age students who are brilliant and creative and inspiring and they learned more in a 30 minute crash course in voting with me in a business class than in their formal education prior to today? I hope they feel as much resentment as I feel right now and I hope they take that to the polls and show this country what is possible when we give folks the basic literacy and resources to do the most important thing any citizen can do in a democracy.
Here are the resources I shared with them.

 1)    Register to Vote
2)    Ways to Vote
3)    Know your Ballot
4)    Do your Research
 1)    Registering to Vote in Illinois:
·         You must be a United States Citizen.
·         You must be 17 years old on or before the date of the Primary Election and turn 18 on or before the date of the General or Consolidated Election.
·         You must live in your election precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day.
·         You must not be serving a sentence of confinement in any penal institution as a result of a conviction.
·         You may not claim the right to vote anywhere else.
REGISTER ONLINE HERE (Links to an external site.)
When you register, you will receive a voter registration card in the mail. It will tell you where you go vote. (Somewhere nearby your address). If you don't get one in time you can look up your polling location here: https://ova.elections.il.gov/PollingPlaceLookup.aspx (Links to an external site.)
 Same Day Registration:
Illinois has same day registration. That means you can show up to your polling location with 2 forms of ID, register, and vote all at the same time!
On Election Day, voters who are not registered to vote can register and vote at their home precinct only. Any voter who is not registered and needs to know where to go to register and vote on Election Day can utilize the Clerk’s online Your Voter Information Tool to find their proper polling place by address or birthday.
Voters planning on registering to vote or updating their address on Election Day must bring two pieces of identification to register, one with a current address.
  2)    Ways to Vote:
 Early Voting
If you know you won’t have time to vote on the day of the election (March 17, 2020) don’t worry! You can vote early (and you can register and vote at the same time!). Early voting takes place March 2-16th. There are dedicated early voting locations. Here is a list of the Cook County locations: https://www.cookcountyclerk.com/service/early-voting-locations
 Here is the location and schedule for the early voting polling station closest to Columbia:

 Election Day Voting
In Illinois, you do NOT need to present a photo ID or any documentation in order to vote. You just have to be on the registered voter list. I find it helpful to bring my voter registration card with me and just hand it to them so they can find me easier.
Voting doesn't take long at all in most cases. Just roll up, check in, get your voting form, go to a booth, fill it out, return it to them, get your "I voted" stitcker, post on social that you voted, carry on with your day knowing you did your civic duty and used your voice to shape the country the way you see fit.
 Mail In Ballot/Absentee Ballot - Illinois
Don't want to wait to vote on election day or go to the polls? That's cool. Get your absentee ballot mailed to you. Fill it out at home and mail it back! So easy. It takes 2 minutes online. Here you go... https://www.vote.org/state/illinois/ (Links to an external site.)
The ballot must be postmarked by the day of the election.
Primary: March 17th / General: Nov 3rd
 Registered to vote in another state?
Cool! Get your absentee ballot from that state mailed to you. Fill it out at home. Mail it back before election day in your state. Easy.
https://www.usa.gov/absentee-voting (Links to an external site.)
  3)    Know Your Ballot
The primary is where each party votes on who they want to run in the general election (November 3,2020). You are essentially narrowing down the field in this election.
In the Illinois primary, when you show up to vote you need to declare if you want a Democratic ballot or a Republican ballot. You can choose either but not both.
The choice on who you want to run for President is NOT the only choices you need to vote on. Each ballot is different based on where you live.
Go to this site: https://ballotpedia.org/Illinois_elections,_2020 (Links to an external site.) and enter the address you used to register to vote. It will give you a sample ballot. You can then use the sample ballot to research candidates and issues. You can fill out your sample ballot ahead of time and then bring it with you into the voting booth so you remember all the folks you want to vote for. This will also make the voting process real quick.
   4)    Do your Research
This is probably the most challenging part of any election.
Local politics/local positions are SO IMPORTANT. Local elected officials get to make major decisions that impact your neighborhood, your city, your county, and your state. Yes, national politics is super important but local politics, I would argue, has an even greater impact on your day-to-day life.
 a)    Know your ballot
There are lots of ways to do your research. Knowing what is on your ballot will narrow down the amount of research you need to do. So be sure to go to : https://ballotpedia.org/Illinois_elections,_2020 (Links to an external site.) and get a copy of your ballot.
 b)    Researching presidential candidates
Currently, there are 8 Democratic candidates and 2 Republican candidates.
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/us/politics/2020-presidential-candidates.html
 Since there are so many Democratic candidates running for president there is a lot to consider.
I found this resource helpful:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/politics/policy-2020/quiz-which-candidate-agrees-with-me/ (Links to an external site.)
 It could help you narrow down where to start your candidate research.
 c)    Voting for Judges
When deciding on what judges to vote for (because let's be honest...what the hell do I know about who should be a judge or not) I use this resource: https://www.voteforjudges.org/ (Links to an external site.)
   Ultimately, you cast your vote for the candidates that you believe will create the kind of country that you want to live in.
  I hope this is helpful to you. I hope you choose to vote. As always, I am here to answer any questions or talk through anything with you.
=)

Books read 2020: Reviews (1-20)
Decided to write a little review/overview for all the books I’ve read this year. Mostly just for personal record but please feel free to message me about any of these books!
1. Amberlough by Lara Elena Donnelly (Jan 6th – Jan 13th) 8 days 400 pages
I loved this whole trilogy, but this might have been my favourite of all three. I loved the setting (the main reason, apart from the queer characters, why I wanted to read this book) which is a fantasy setting based on the dying days of Berlin during the Weimar Republic. Loved this setting (especially the cabaret/music hall part) and it’s the only book that really features it. I also enjoy (or…find compelling, enjoy might not quite be right since there’s some very ‘yowch’ descriptions regarding torture/being beaten up) the story/plot most in this one, I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happened next…
2. Maurice by E.M. Forster (Nov 17th – Jan 21st) 256 pages
This is the only kind of cheat I have in here, because yes I did start reading it in November 2019, but I read the vast majority of it in 2020. I’d wanted to read it for ages because it’s such a gay classic and there were many sections (sentences, paragraphs) that I related to heavily, not even always as a queer person, but in that way that the best books get at the heart of something about the human experience in a way that’s intensely relatable to the reader. I think I found the romance elements kind of anticlimactic overall but maybe that’s kind of the point? It’s a happy ending, but in a very quiet way. (I think, it has been nearly a year since I read it!)
3. East, West by Salman Rushdie (Jan 17th – Jan 24th) 8 days 224 pages
I started reading this to compare it with its Spanish translation for my Postcolonialism in Translation essay lol. Some pretty interesting stories in here, also pretty sure this is the only collection of short stories I read this year, so it has that distinction. Not super my thing but acted as an enjoyable reading break in the local park while I was slogging my way through essays (and God do I miss that life now).
4. Affinity by Sarah Waters (Jan 24th – Jan 31st) 8 days 352 pages
This was the first of three Sarah Waters books I read this year. I have now read all of her work, and I enjoyed this one a lot – very much a ghost story. It wasn’t my favourite, but definitely sits nicely in the middle.
5. The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (Jan 31st – Feb 5th) REREAD 6 days 500 pages
Reread this while on a trip to York, when stuff like that was still possible. As good as ever. I love Time Traveler’s Wife not for the romance (which is…interesting, but personally I don’t find it exactly enjoyable and the characters aren’t particularly likable or relatable for me) but for the prose and the structure. The back-and-forth structure of the book (travelling through time, Henry – and Clare – at different points in their life) makes for a breathtakingly constructed plot and I love it more every time. Some of the prose and stuff the characters talk about are kind of pretentious but I’m kind of pretentious myself (I discovered  Rilke through TTW) and a lot of it has stuck in my brain, to the point that 10 months later I keep thinking about it and kind of want to read it yet again.
6. Armistice by Lara Elena Donnelly (Feb 5th – Feb 9th) 5 days 400 pages
I really enjoyed this sequel, I loved exploring the rest of the world, I loved the interaction between characters who either hadn’t met before, hadn’t seen each other in years (there’s a time jump between Amberlough and Armistice) and brand new characters (who were mostly equally as compelling/lovable). A worthy sequel.
7. Consider the Fork: A History of How We Cook and Eat by Bee Wilson (Feb 13th – Feb 24th) 12 days 327 pages
My thing (at least non-fiction-wise) this year has been books about food and food history, and this is the first of those on this list. It was pretty good, very interesting. I have trouble retaining information from non-fiction books so I only remember it in the broadest strokes (and remember reading it in the Hygge café in Sheffield which was really cool and I hope it’s survived the pandemic) but it was a really eye-opening look into different appliances/tools/processes/spaces used throughout history and in different parts of the world when it comes to food and cooking.
8. Bi: Notes for a Bisexual Revolution by Shiri Eisner (Feb 25th – Mar 11th) 16 days 352 pages
I read this in the period just before everything started shutting down and the day I finished it (incidentally my girlfriend’s birthday) was more or less the start of the lockdown for us, so that’s my prevailing memory of this book. It was a very good, enlightening look into bi politics and what we (I, as a white gentile especially) could do better. But again, I don’t remember it in great detail because I was more preoccupied with what was happening around it.
9. Solitaire by Alice Oseman (Mar 14th – Mar 16th) 3 days 392 pages
This was pretty good but I definitely read most YA (well, reality-based YA) as an easy, quick read that doesn’t challenge me too much, so I don’t have too much to say about it. It was nice to read about the Heartstopper characters
10. What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera (Mar 17th – Mar 20th) 4 days 437 pages
Again, early lockdown YA so basically brain popcorn for me. That’s not a bad thing though.
11. The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters (Mar 20th – Mar 30th) 11 days 512 pages
This was my least favourite of the Sarah Waters books I read this year, and probably not coincidentally, the only book of hers without explicit queer characters. But still a pretty good scary story.
12. Amnesty by Lara Elena Donnelly (Apr 1st – April 6th) 6 days 384 pages
The last in the trilogy. I still liked it very much, but not as much as the first two books. I think endings to a trilogy are hard to get right. I feel like there was too much focus on one character and his predicament (and while I enjoyed his ending and happily ever after with probably m favourite character of the series), I wasn’t as compelled by this one as I was by the other two.
13. Lisey’s Story by Stephen King (Apr 6th – Apr 15th)  10 days 513 pages
My first Stephen King! I actually really enjoyed this, especially the scary fantasy dream world thing. It wasn’t too scary for me (I am a big scaredy cat who’s just dipping my toe into horror novels since I figure reading horror is moderately less scary than watching it) and just overall pretty good.
14. This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone (Apr 16th – Apr 20th) 5 days 209 pages
Loved this! The meandering almost poetry of it, the epic enemies to lovers, the weird admixture of sci fi and larger than life fantasy concepts (and beings!). Will definitely return to this one again.
15. Five Hundred Mile Walkies by Mark Wallington (Apr 21st – Apr 25th) REREAD 5 days 224 pages
I read this as a young teenager and found it hilarious. It was one of my dad’s books (he might even have recommended it to me, although I did have a habit of reading anything and everything that was in the bookcase – Memoirs of a Geisha at about 13, anyone?) and I laughed out loud practically every page. The gist of it is that Mark takes his sister’s (or sister’s ex??) dog, Boogie and goes to walk the entire 500 miles of the South West coast path. I loved this anyway because I loved the South West (especially Cornwall) and love seeing it through someone else’s eyes. So I reread it and I still enjoyed it, but didn’t find it as rip roaringly hilarious as I used to. Guess your sense of humour changes as you grow up, who knew?
16. Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café by Fannie Flagg (Apr 27th – May 10th) 14 days 416 pages
I’ll be honest, I struggled with this one. I’m not sure if it was the setting (historically, geographically, linguistically) that put me off or the way it was written or what. I enjoyed the story but it just wasn’t really my thing.
17. The Night Watch by Sarah Waters (May 11th – May 17th) 7 days 528 pages
My final Sarah Waters book (until she writes more! *fingers crossed*) and definitely my favourite of the ones I read this year. Set during the Blitz in London, it’s pretty much straight up historical fiction, and I enjoyed it very much. I think part of it was I related heavily to the characters going through this dramatic time in history, because, you know, pandemic! There were certain passages that really connected with me/felt like an echo of today in a way that was sort of comforting, I guess.
18. Doctor Who: The Maze of Doom by David Solomons (May 18th – May 19th) 2 days 272 pages
A fun, quick and easy Doctor Who romp. Not much to say about this one.
19. Room by Emma Donoghue (May 19th – May 20th) 2 days 321 pages
Possibly the opposite of the previous. If you know anything about Room (the book or the film, which I actually watched years ago) then you know the subject matter is pretty dark and harrowing. Because it’s told through the eyes of a child however, I found it pretty easy (in terms of speed rather than subject matter) to get through and read it in about 24 hours. It’s super compelling too.
20. The Psychology of Time Travel by Kate Mascarenhas (June 6th – June 11th) 6 days 372 pages
This, as far as I remember, was just a random one that I managed to pick up (metaphorically since I read this as an ebook) but it was pretty good. Possibly my favourite random discovery of the year, an interesting look on time travel and its consequences, based around the discovery/invention of time travel by four women scientists in the 1960s (I think) and how it affects the rest of their lives.

Week 4.
-
Nov. 14
I woke up after 11AM.
Did some the usual before today’s exercise.
First, yesterday’s DD. 20 forward bends with EC. Pretty breezy work. Just a little dizzying, today.
Second, today’s DD. 40 leg raises with EC. Definitely tougher exercise. Still not the most fun to have to keep head held up for ab work like this. But doable.
Third, Day 19 of the YAC. 3 sets: 40″ boat pose + 40″ knee hug holds. Definitely tougher to get through fresh after those leg raises. But I’m glad I could manage.
Last, Day 19 of TEN. Ab day, counted 6-7 sets completed by the time was up. The last few sets became a willpower game due  to pretty intense neck strain.
Spent more time chatting, processing videos... and processing last week. Because I fell behind on my tracking again. Oi. But I’m caught up. Again.
Got to bed in the red zone, but a few hours earlier than yesterday.

Nov. 15
I got up around the same time as yesterday.
Spent a few hours this morning getting some shopping and processing more stream footage. Then I went into today’s exercise.
First, today’s DD. 200 backfists with EC (100/100). This was pretty intense, but fun as always! I love punches! =w=
Second, Day 20 of the YAC. 3x40″ supermen holds, 40″ rest. Having timer in face is useful. Did take a bit of digging in to get it done. Did note tenderness in abs during this - hit ‘em pretty hard yesterday.
Last, Day 20 of TEN. Tendon strength / flexibility day. Counted 3 completed sets by the end of it. Did 2 of the sets with knees held above floor and 1 (+1 extra) with them resting on floor during the up/down dogs. Honestly, those were the least pleasant to do in the entire sequence. Overall, I do think the DD did make many of the exercises a bit hard to do. But I could get through it well enough!
Spent much of the rest of my day chatting and doing some writing.
Got to bed later than yesterday.

Nov. 16
I woke up around noon.
After some video processing and chatting, I did today’s exercise.
First, today’s DD. 40 get-ups with EC. Got reasonably fatiguing by the time I hit the last 10 or so reps per side.
Second, Day 21 of the YAC. 3 sets: 45″ boat pose + 45″ knee hug holds. Pretty intensive. Timer bell wigged out on me during the last set - so that was unpleasant. (Decided to wait/hope that it would stop sounding and maintain the boat. It did resolve after a bit,)
Last, Day 21 of TEN. Cardio day. Counted 9 completed set by the end of it - not too shabby as far as pace. Kinda happy the only impact exercise was some jumping jacks (still consider those a fave tho.)
Did some dishes and made today’s Hello Fresh meal. Chicken Romesco filled ravioli. I liked it reasonably well - the filling had a delightful smoky flavor. But it wasn’t an experience with enough consensus to clamor for revisit (relatively.)
Spent rest of night chatting and whatnot.
Got to bed later than yesterday.

Nov. 17
I think I got up around the same time as yesterday.
Spent time doing some computer maintenance and chatting, did today’s exercise.
First, today’s DD. 40 squat hops on the spot with EC. A bit winding and intense.
Second, Day 22 of the YAC. 3x45″ supermen holds, 45″ rest. Manageable.
Last, Day 22 of TEN. Leg day. Counted 5 sets completed within time, +1 extra overtime. Just about manageable work, overall.
Spent rest of day just doing more computer maintenance stuff, chatting, and whatnot.
Got to bed around the same time as yesterday.

I think I got up around the same time as yesterday.
Spent time doing some computer maintenance and chatting, did today’s exercise. Again.
First, today’s DD. 40 plank rotations with EC. Got a bit fatigued, but doable.
Second, Day 23 of the YAC.
Last, Day 23 of TEN. Arm day. I counted 9 sets completed within time, +1 overtime. Pretty doable and challenging.
Spent rest of night chatting and whatnot.
I got to bed earlier than yesterday, but still rather late.

Nov. 19
I woke up after 11AM.
Spent time unpacking some deliveries that arrived today. I stapled down a new ethernet cable I ordered. Definitely took some energy to wire it. This was in prep for a new laptop I ordered.
I had intention of firing it up after installing another SSD into it... but needed a spudger to be able to get past unscrewing the case and pry it open without breaking anything. I was running on basically just coffee, so I was pretty irritated.
Ordered a kit for that. Was too tired/hungry to do much more than chatting and the usual. So I rain-checked on my exercise.
Got to bed later than yesterday.

Nov. 20
I woke up around noon.
After getting far too distracted and spending time updating my logs, I caught up with my exercise.
First, yesterday’s DD. 2′ uneven plank hold with EC (1′/1′). This took some digging in to accomplish. But very manageable work.
Second, today’s DD. 30 half shrimp squats with EC (15/15). Didn’t go for assist, so depth wasn’t consistent. But I was able to maintain balance and whatnot.
Second, Day 24 of the YAC. 3x45″ supermen holds, 45″ rest. Manageable. Deep breaths is helpful (even if mechanically a bit restricted by this exercise.)
Last, Day 24 of TEN. Ab day. Counted 5 sets completed here, plus a few extra exercises by the end. Honestly, the neck strain’s the only really unpleasant part to contend with. Though my quads and abs got to feeling it at the pace I was going at (did rest/pause ~20″ between sets.)
By the time I got that done and some dishes... I only really had enough energy to reconstitute some canned soup for the family tonight. I did however spend time connecting Dethklok songs to the Sides for some reason. :,D
Got to bed late, but a little earlier than yesterday.
