Even Roger had a good excuse to not be there for Ace. I am just mad, but that has nothing to do with the Live Action so moving on)

Okay i waited on this because this is SO IMPORTANT. I rewtached them all and here is their ranking (i would love to give all of them 10/10 but i didn't let myself)

This is my child. I took it way too serious. Also I included Almost Kisses and Piper Kisses. Sue me.

First Kiss - 1000000/10 - Okay this one is perfection for so many reasons. Starting with the aesthetic of the double leather jackets. Perfection. Then you get to the deep down. Eddie is pouring his heart out and he is so desperate and she is ALSO desperate for a totally different reason (to just tell him how she feels but she can't cuz the hex) and both of them are just feeling so much urgency and he's about to give up on her but he doesn't want to so he's being more vulnerable for her than anyone else in his whole life and she does the only thing she knows and kisses him HER FIRST EVER KISS and the kiss itself is so sweet and so satisfying to finally get. So good they go in for another one (that doesn't happen) but yeah it's the start of an era.

The Almost Kiss- 4/10 - VICTOR THE COCKBLOCK RODENMARR HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO US. Anyway the "guess you could call me fearless." was smooth but the rest was Eddie being a total cringy boi trying to "play cool". Stillit's sweet so it gets some points. ALSO points for asking her if he can when he knows she's struggling to communicate. Also, their disappointed faces are so cute and saddd. Thoughtful boy in love. Girl in love too.

The Piper Kiss - 1/10 - THIS ONLY GETS A POINT BECAUSE OF THE SET UP. The way he looks at her when he's talking to jerome is just HEART EYES. He's so smitten. but like him kissing piper is soooo awkward and theres no chem (how can jade and burkley have sooo much chem and nikita and him have zero?) and OFMG who THE FUCK on the writing team wrote "smackeroo?" i hate that word SO MUCH.

The ALMOST Piper Kiss - 2/10 - Same thing no chem but OMG THE LEAD UP AND THE COMEDY. Like the hand holding, the "your a big part of who i am" the "Be you." I AM MELTING. Then the comedy ofc with Patricia like OMFG DEAD and Eddie instantly knows which she is gets one of the top eddie cute moments ever.

Pretty much Alone *Eyebrow waggle* (tunnels)- 5/10 - DEAD. TOO FUNNY. NOT EVEN A KISS BUT HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE BEST SCENE IN THE WHOLE SHOW AND THE ALMOST KISS IN IT NEEDS A RANKING. Was i bias giving it a 5? yes. Do i care? no.

Eddies reward (Library Kiss)- 7/10 - Not my favorite but we get some good camera angles and the lighting in the library is chef's kiss. Simple kiss. Not much to say.

House of Rainbows- 8/10 - Parralels the first kiss so well but because the first kiss was better (imho) I couldn't rank this as high. Still8 out of 10 is good because this is the SIMPtricia kiss. She's smitten after she's done being mad. Also me and my friends used to quote the ever hysterical "good question! I was kidnapped!" forever so bias. ALSO one of the best parts of the parralels is that in the first kiss she kisses him because she can't talk and in this one he kisses her because she wont shut up. cuties. :)

Friends - 6/10 - I WANNA ENJOY THIS KISS SO MUCH MORE BUT THE AFTEMATH OF IT IS SO BAD. Like sheinstantly gets mad again and it's all ruined but boy without that this ones a keeper. Short and simple but so pretty.

Gatehouse - 9/10 - I wanted to give this 100000 because of eddie (he legit runs the whole thing) but i can't give it higher than 9 with the fact that Patricia isn't Patricia. Still THE SPEECH. Ugh if you know you know.

Fireworks- 10/10 - ALWAYS WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE ......a ten. It's perfect.I love it. Best of the season.Eddie loves her so much and she's so insecure but he would never not let her know how much he loves her. and they're just THEM like the games the insults the everything! True power couple.

TOR - 9/10 - This one omg has my heart. She's worried about him, and rightfully so. They might never see eachother again but they won't let that come to their mouth in words. They speak there maybe goodbhye through their kiss and wow are they so in love it's craazy. Super couple Peddie we love you. Would get a 10 if it was a lil longer or had better angles tbh.

1) The watch tower

It’s so interesting to see the aliens reasoning and understanding of the universe and why it’s needed, and I love the song that goes with the reveal, and how Doug is both the child and adult in this situation, both asking Bob to give him the kids glove treatment and trying to patiently explain things like an exasperated parent

2) Am I alone now? It’s the episode that made me care about this podcast. We hear from everyone and Heras speech about the solar flair and how she doesn’t know if she’s going to miss them fucking kills me

3) Boléro. Like a better version of team what’s wrong with handcuffs. Effiel is tired, and he hates this, and everyone who’s dead has tried to kill him at least once, but he’ll be fucked if they aren’t going to be people about this, if they aren’t going to treat them as people and loose all control of decency. Heras talk about what the point of this is and why they had to die, and her complicated feelings of getting betrayed by a friend and not knowing how to feel, and Minkowskis feelings of inadequacy…. Girl I am UNWELL

4) Time to kill. Not much to say about this one. It’s a Halloween favorite of mine and the idea of them sitting there for hours after that is chilling. No matter which version it is, there was A Jacobi out there who’s friends let him die. The dread and fear and tragedy in that episode are overwhelming

5) memoria. To feel there is something wrong with you your entire life, to find out the thing tripping you up was your own anxieties? To have to look at that and go “this is a part of me I can’t remove and have to live with, but because I know it’s there now, I can work around it. I’m not okay, but I’m going to be.”

6) Into the depths. Ok listen. The aliens telling Kepler that just because hes violent doesn’t mean he has a say in anything is delicious. Them communicating with Doug who is terrified and has no idea what the fuck they’re saying is delicious. Lovelace saying I’m choosing to be this person? 10/10. Minkowski going even if I think you were wrong you were willing to make a choice? Chef kiss. This episode can do no wrong

7) Wolf 359 live: deep space survival procedure and prodigal. This episode is comedy genius. The voice recording Eiffel going that’s impossible and everyone telling it to shut up, the microwave gag, the role-playing between Effielf and Minkowski? Top teir. Him utterly failing at keeping the meeting cool and immediately giving them away? So good. Loveless being just so fucking pissed and confused? Light of my life

8) Let’s kill Hilbert. Like a diet version of Boléro. Early enough that it could be naïveté but relistening makes you go wow doug really is the moral back bone of the ship, and at the end him offering the different options for Hera and her taking all three gets me every time

9) Mission mishaps: a little night music. 1: it’s funny to hear someone verbally describe that kind of music 2: him having a breakdown midway 3: the fact that hilbert would’ve known about the aliens if he listened to like 10 secs 4: his fake fancy accent

10) Minkowski commanding. Seeing her loose her mind is funny but the revelation that the plant just wanted to not be alone in the dark always got me like 😭🥺🥺🥺

Bones seasons ordered from my least favorite to absolute favorite.

I finished my Bones rewatch (the first one since it ended and I loved the show even more than before ❤) and, although it wasn't easy, I finally have my ranking of every season. This was super hard for me because I love all Bones and even the seasons that aren't my favorites are very close to my heart.

Season 10:

The season started strong with Booth in prison and the team trying to discover who was behind the conspiracy; however, the resolution of the arc was very disappointing. Sweets' death was a hard blow for the fandom because it was so unexpected (he wasn't my favorite but I was shocked when he was killed). Aubrey joined the team and I "liked" him, although I didn't like that he appeared too much while Booth & Brennan, ironically, faded into the background for some episodes of S10.

Speaking of Booth & Brennan, they seemed out of rhythm and somewhat unconnected for most of the season (specifically after the 200th episode). Booth's relapse into gambling was not received well by the fandom because it seemed like a cheap excuse to create drama between him and Brennan (thank God they didn't drag it for long).

However, although S10 was lackluster for Booth & Brennan as a couple, Christine got recast for an older child. Sunny was an absolute sweetheart that injected Christine with so much life and joy, and Emily and David's chemistry with her and their scenes together were a delight to watch. The 200th in the 10th was an absolute dream, and vintage Booth & Brennan were so *chef's kiss*. That episode plus The Lost Love in the Foreign Land and The Lost in the Found were the only ones I truly liked. The final episode of season 10 was designed to serve as a series finale in case the show wasn't renewed, but if you compare it to the actual series finale you can see how it wouldn't have been as satisfying as the real one.

Season 8:

Very much like season 10, season 8 started strong but fell flat. S8 had a promising beginning with the team trying to clear Brennan's name and Booth & Brennan's crisis after being apart for 3 months. Sadly, the lack of interesting cases and the infamous Pelant arc, one of the worst things the show ever did, made S8 lackluster at times. The only episodes I truly like are The Future in the Past, The Shot in the Dark, and The Patos in the Pathogens.

However, I didn't hate everything about S8. Three of my favorite Booth & Brennan moments come from this season: the final scene from 8x02, the undercover episode at the dancing competition (THEIR DANCE OMFG), and Brennan's magical marriage proposal, which I can quote from memory and I'm not even ashamed to admit it 🤩😍. Also, this season gave me Cam & Arastoo, one of my favorite couples from the show.

Season 3:

Not my favorite season, mostly because it was cut short due to the Writers Guild of America strike and felt rushed at moments. The Gormogon arc started strong but had a very, extremely anti-climatic conclusion, and the decision to make Zack his apprentice was... controversial to say the least (Zack was never one of my favorites but even I raised an eyebrow at the twist). Sweets joined the show this year, and for a hot moment, I swore he was going to end up being Gormogon!

Despite the mess, S3 has three of my favorite episodes: The Mummy in the Maze (legendary Halloween episode!) The Verdict in the Story (Max's trial had me on the edge), and The Wannabe in the Weeds, which has a lot of music and singing. Also, Booth's speech to Brennan about making love from Death in the Saddle? Offff.

Season 1:

Ah, yes, Bones' legendary freshman year. Although I like other seasons more than this one, season 1 holds a very special place in my heart because if I hadn't liked it I wouldn't have become such a diehard bonehead. S1 suffers from "season one syndrome", the natural struggle new shows go through as they find their rhythm and the characters develop their personalities. However, it also has more original cases and situations compared to later seasons.

This season has two of my all-time favorite episodes, also considered among the show's best: The Man in the Fallout Shelter (a top 5 episode for me and the one that made me fall in love with the show), and The Woman in Limbo, which answers the question of what happened to Brennan's parents, a mystery I initially thought was going to be present for the entire run of the show.

Season 5:

The main arc of the season featured Booth struggling with his feelings for Brennan, and it was a build-up to the magical 100th episode (one of my top 5 episodes). The Parts in the Sum of the Whole took us back to B&B's first case together and has one of the best, if not the best scene in the entire show (but also the saddest one).

Season 5 highlights include Angela & Hodgins rekindling their relationship and getting married (love my Hodgela babies ❤), Cyndi Lauper guest-starring as a psychic, and the introduction of Booth's grandfather Pops. There are 3 episodes I really love which are The Plain in the Prodigy, The Proof in the Pudding, and obviously The Parts in the Sum of the Whole. Also, the season finale is one of the saddest because it has Booth & Brennan parting ways for a year, and it is filled with uncertainty.

Season 7:

This season changed the dynamic of the entire show. Now, I won't deny I felt robbed when I first watched S7 because I had waited for 6 seasons for B&B to become a couple and then they had them jump from 0 to 100 in two episodes (literally). That said, once I got past my initial shock I enjoyed S7 very, very much. Although short (the second shortest season of the show) two very important things happened: the beginning of the Pelant arc, which started strong but crossed over ridiculous territory in S8, and the debut of Booth & Brennan as a couple. Also the cliffhanger of Brennan escaping with Christine because she was framed for murder? EPIC.

The thing I love the most about this season is seeing B&B adapting to sharing their lives, and every scene that involves them discussing their impending parenthood or spending time with baby Christine makes me melt 🥺 Some of my favorite B&B moments from this season are when Brennan shows Booth her ultrasound; when they visit the Mighty Hut for the first time; the absolute chaos surrounding Christine's birth; and the final scene from 7x13 in which Brennan tells Booth she loves him and that she doesn't want him to believe Christine is the only reason they are together. Bonus: Brennan trying to see the world through Booth's eyes and even behaving like him.

I like most of the episodes from S7, but my favorites have to be The Hot Dog in the Competition, The Prince in the Plastic, The Prisoner in the Pipe, and The Past in the Present.

Season 12:

The show's shortest season and its senior year, S12 had the task of tying some loose ends and giving a satisfying conclusion to the story, which is always a difficult challenge for final seasons. However, I think S12 did a pretty awesome job in providing a worthy send-off to Bones, which is what a show of its caliber and with such a large and devoted fanbase deserved.

Season 12 was full of callbacks: Brennan wanting to read Christine her very first book (which she had recently published in the Pilot); B&B listening to 'Hot Blooded' one last time; Angela & Brennan reminiscing about how they used to go to clubs years before, among others. But the biggest of them being the son of the warlord Booth killed on his sniper days (and who Booth mentioned to Brennan in season 1) coming back for revenge. There were also lots of easter eggs, most of them in the series finale: Booth's speech to Brennan was full of references to the history of their relationship; Brennan telling the interns what she remembered about them; and all the objects the Jeffersonian squad found in the rubble of their offices.

The entire season had a strong feeling of nostalgia from start to finish. You could notice that the writers worked hard to give fans some of the things we wanted or had requested for years, like Brennan's birthday party, a final undercover episode, and the return of some characters like Zack and Gordon Gordon. Although watching the Jeffersonian being blown up was painful as fuck, good series finales excel at showing you how much the characters have grown since the Pilot, and the Bones finale did exactly that. It was respectful to both the characters and the audience, it was nostalgic but very emotional, and every character had a fitting and satisfying ending.

The weakest spot of the season, in my opinion, was the conclusion of The Puppeteer arc. The Hope in the Horror was very tense and a good episode overall, but I was disappointed with how they chose to end the storyline (especially since The Puppeteer was the highlight of season 11). Despite this I enjoy most episodes, especially The Hope in the Horror, The Price in the Past, The Scare in the Score, The Day in the Life and, of course, The End in the End.

Season 6:

I see seasons 5 & 6 as two parts of one huge, 40+ episode season. Just like S5 has Booth struggling with his feelings for Brennan, S6 is the other way around. Seeing Brennan coming to terms with her feelings for Booth and finally admitting she regrets not giving their relationship a chance is one of my favorite arcs ever. S6 was weird because due to Booth being with Hannah his relationship with Brennan became slightly strained, but they were still very close. Also, this is the final season with Booth & Brennan not being a couple, so it's interesting to see them during the second half of the season after Booth breaks up with Hannah.

Another thing I really like from S6 is the focus on Angela & Hodgins dealing with their pregnancy and with the possibility of their baby being born blind, and they had very sad but also cute scenes.

From this season my favorite episodes are The Doctor in the Photo (top 5 episode for me), The Blackout in the Blizzard, and The Pain in the Heart.

Season 11:

A vast improvement from the lackluster previous year, season 11 featured a second wind for Booth & Brennan and they regained the spark they lost in season 10 (and the show as a whole had a rebirth). The bickering and playful nature of their relationship, the basis of the show's success, was lost amidst the chaos of season 10 but came back into full force this year.

S11 had interesting storylines and mostly good episodes from start to finish. After years of stability, Angela & Hodgins suffered a hard blow after Hodgins was injured in an explosion that put him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, which brought plenty of drama for the couple. Arastoo & Cam went back together for good and Jessica & Aubrey, a popular couple among the fandom, blossomed during S11. The Puppeteer looked like a promising serial killer and the two episodes of the arc were the best of the season.

S11 had a bunch of really good episodes, my favorites being The Loyalty in the Lie & The Brother in the Basement (the two-hour season premiere), The Monster in the Closet, The Movie in the Making and, naturally, The Nightmare in the Nightmare, one of the finest season finales in the show's history and one of the best episodes overall, with Brennan's creepy-as-fuck nightmares and the reveal of serial killer!Zack (or so it seemed).

Season 2:

Hart Hanson and Co. took notes of both the strong and weak aspects of season 1, and that's why Bones' sophomore year is one of the best seasons of the show. The relationships evolved and there were interesting and engaging cases, with little-to-no filter.

My favorite storylines of the season are Cam's addition to the team; Booth & Brennan's legendary first undercover mission; and Angela & Hodgins becoming a couple (bless whoever had this idea). Season 2 gets bonus points thanks to Aliens in a Spaceship, the first episode of the Gravedigger arc and universally considered the best episode of the entire series. Also, the Howard Epps' arc (which began in S1) was very entertaining to watch and Booth & Brennan achieved peak sexual tension™ despite the drama of Brennan being in a relationship with Sully.

My favorite episodes from season 2 are The Blonde in the Game, The Girl with the Curl, Aliens in a Spaceship (GOAT), The Man in the Cell, Bodies in the Book, and Stargazer in a Puddle.

Season 4:

Objectively speaking nothing particularly important happened in this season, but I liked it very much. The introduction of Brennan's interns was something I loved, and S4 has my all-time favorite episode: The Double Death of the Dearly Departed, a super stupid but very funny hour which is chaotic as hell but is peak Bones comedy. Also, this season has really cute Booth & Brennan interactions :3

Other highlights include B&B joining the circus (my favorite undercover episode), Booth being kidnapped by the Gravedigger, and the debut of the 447 mystery in Booth's post-surgery dream (a somewhat odd but entertaining episode).

My favorite episodes from season 4 are The Passenger in the Oven, Double Trouble in the Panhandle, The Hero in the Hold, and The Double Death of the Dearly Departed.

Season 9:

My favorite for 3 reasons: Pelant finally went back to hell where he belonged, Booth & Brennan's magical wedding, and this being the first season of them being a married couple. Although their relationship was pretty much unchanged, there were some subtle details that my shipper heart loved like them calling each other "husband" and "wife". Also, this was probably the happiest year for the fandom (Pelant's death + Booth & Brennan finally getting married + lots of BTS material = we were thriving!)

The Ghost Killer arc was surprisingly short but I liked the twist of the team discovering her identity after she was already dead. As a matter of fact, I enjoyed most of this season's episodes, and even the ones I found to be slow were pretty enjoyable to me (except The Nazi in the Honeymoon, that episode was such a disappointment and a wasted opportunity).

My favorite episodes from S9 are The Secrets in the Proposal (DRAMA), The Cheat in the Retreat (so chaotic), The Woman in the List (preparations for Booth & Brennan's wedding, yay!), The Woman in White (one of my 5 favorite episodes ever, so magical), The Mystery in the Meat (Brennan's bachelorette party was super funny), The Spark in the Park, Big in the Philippines, and The Nail in the Coffin. Also, let's not forget The Recluse in the Recliner, probably the best season finale in the show's history.

• How Caspian is confused all the time.

• That disappinted look in Susan's eyes when she sees Peter fighting, and they way she doesn't do anything to help him. Like girl they are beating your brother??

• Edmund comes and saves Peter by simply jumping on everyone who is trying to hurt Peter. We love a clever and quick boi™

• Lucy's little comfort to Peter. *sniffing*

• Peter's iconic hair, that rebel and sassy hair.

• “I'm not touching you!” “I'M NOT HOLDING YOUR HAND!”

• How happy they are at the beach and the way they finally can have pure fun. *more sniffing*

• Narnia is so beautiful in summer and Pevensies look so beautiful too.

• And for my own please, I'll mention how beautiful Peter looks when he is playing in the sea and walking among the ruins.

• The way Lucy holds Peter's hand to show him the way and THE TORCH SCENE GETS ME EVERYTIME.

• Everyone is like where the hell are we and Lucy is just enjoying her apple.

• And again for my own pleasure, I'll mention how beautiful Susan looks.

• “wHiCh cHeSs sEt?” “whOt?” We love a one confused king.

• That shot when they all stand in their places in the ruins and Peter says “Cair Paravel.” I'm like YES SIR I'M READY TO SACRIFICE MY WHOLE LIFE FOR YOU.

• I'm lowkey attracted to General Glozelle. (shameful sniffing)

• I like it that Edmund is the first one to figure out what might have happened to Cair Paravel. And our confused king is again like “whOt?”

• C'mon Peter is very committed to make a torch and it is SO CUTE. And Edmund watching him is so funny, he is like ‘I'm about to end this man's whole career.’

• I'll not tell my thoughts on the time Peter takes his sword. I'm trying to be a good. *choughs*

• Boom! “Drop him!” YOUR QUEEN IS BACK YOU IDIOTS! OOOH HOW I LOVE SUSAN.

• Peter jumping to the water and Lucy using his dagger to cut the ropes.

• “High King Peter, the Magnificent.” I mean if I were magnificent just like him, I'd tell it loud very frequently too.

• Edmund using sword... 10/10 His final pose 20/10. *chefs kiss and sniffing*

• “Or do I have to sit on your head again?” Narnians and humor? Count me in!

• Caspian's accent... YES SIR.

• “I'm Prince Caspian... The tenth.” and “High King Peter, The Magnificent.” are cousins and you can't tell me otherwise.

• Proffesor inside: Eheheh they are back. You are a dead man now Miraz.

• That underwater shot... 10/10. Peter paddling... 10/10. All of them sitting in silent, sadly... Okay this one hurts A LOT.

• “We didn't mean to leave you know.” *no more sniffing i'm crying*

• Lucy greeting and trusting in a bear is me vs. life. Susan saying a bear to stay away from Lucy is me vs. life again.

• Peter helping Lucy to stand up and her hugging Peter for comfort.

• And that bear scene is very clever to me. It shows that those bad times have an effect on everyone. How even Narnians, kind, gentle, happy Narnians turned into wild creatures because of bad times. Also Susan not killing the bear immediately shows how gentle she is and she always gives a chance.

• “I can hear you.” We love a done™ prince. And him asking questions about Narnia is so cute!

• That zoom to Caspian's face is kiLLING ME.

• AND REEPICHEEP I'd kill and die for him unless he kills and dies for me first.

• CENTAURS ARE BACK!!! Oh I love them so much.

• “You can't carry a map in your heads.” “That's because we have something in them.” LUCY DIDN'T STUTTER.

• “i'M nOt lOst.” My baby tries so hard I love him bye.

• “OH SHUT UP!” is one of my favorite Peter lines. Also he is very sassy and why is no one talking about it?? (I'll talk about it later btw, eheh)

• IF SOMEONE BELIEVED AND LISTENED TO LUCY THE FIRST TIME SHE SPEAKS, THINGS WOULD BE SO MUCH BETTER AND EASIER FOR ASLAN'S SAKE.

• And Edmund supporting Lucy? We love a supportive and cute brother.

• Caspian is so brave and the speech he gives... *CHEFS KISS* I mean I would fight and die for him too. And when Narnians believe in him, I cry even more. (++Ben Barnes' voice in that accent... Gets me every freaking time).

• The look in Peter's face when he sees the making of the bridge. He is like “Not my kingdom, you bitches!”

• The conversaion between Lucy and Susan... I hate to think their struggles, adjusting to Narnia, adjusting to England.

• Lucy telling a tree to wake up is me vs. life, again.

• The way Peter just comes and hides her out of nowhere... WE LOVE A PROTECTIVE BROTHER.

• When Caspian and Peter fights... Okay, for your safety I'll shut up but the way Peter is ready to hit him with a rock is both funny and shows how a quick and smart fighter he is.

• “PETAH!” Okay Susan, we get it honey.

• “Well if you like, we can come back in a few years.” LIKE WHY IS NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT HIS SASS??

• “You were right to fear the woods.” IS. EXCELLENT.

• Caspian and Peter walking in the front and talking casually. My heart goes *butterlifes* *looove*

• When the papa centaur rises baby centaur's sword... *a loud sniff* .

• I love that there are pictures of Pevensies and Golden Age on the walls. It makes me feel so majestic.

• Caspian: *dramatically lights fire*

• They are looking at The Stone Table and Caspian in the back is like look at the mess you made.

• When Peter and Caspian talk at the same time.

• “There is always a first time.” THAT. SASS. AND CONFIDENCE.

• “We could collect nuts!” “Yes, and throw them at Telmarines!” Reepicheep... Love you babe.

• Okay the whole castle stuff is so freaking cool until the last minutes. Like Edmund and his torch, Susan and THE WAY HE KILLS A MAN BY THROWING AN ARROW.

• And it just should be said: I love how Narnians are always ready to sacrifice themselves because freedom is much more important than their lives. They are not afraid of death as long as it means to get freedom back.

• Professor doing his best to help Caspian escape and then seeing him back in the castle again... I mean a disappointment level I can relate.

• When he hits Miraz's wound. He is a smart fighter, and I'll not even bring up how he stabs Miraz.

• The kiss makes me feel weird but I'm alright with that.

• The way Lucy looks back at Aslan breaks my heart.

• THE ENDING KILLS ME. DESTROYS ME. VANISHES MY EXISTENCE. THAT LION ROAR. THAT SONG. OH HOW I LOVE THIS MOVIE AND NARNIA MOVIES... I AM CRYING AGAIN.

Positive things about Wizards!!

So now that I’ve addressed the elephant in the room, let’s talk about the things I liked in Wizards!! Or at least, the ones I remember--there’s probably more but hot dang that was a lot to take in. This will definitely not be in chronological order cuz like I said wow that was a LOT of stuff to process I can’t organize it rn

-Yo Deya was heckin’ awesome, loved her. The MOMENT Callista was like “yeah this is just the name the humans gave me I don’t remember my troll name” I was like um YUP if she ain’t Deya I’ll eat my socks lol

-Speaking of which, I adored Jim’s pep talk to Callista and their friendship. The first Trollhunter and...well, I guess the last. Also OOF the “fear is but the precursor to valor” speech (or at least parts of it) was originally DEYA’S HOLY FLIP

-Like, the way Callista initially rejects the amulet but Jim helps her through it because he’s been there? FANTASTIC -chefs kiss-

-All the Jlaire was ON POINT -chefs kiss again- BEAUTIFUL and not even a hint of love triangle, excellent

-Like seriously, that date scene? PRECIOUS. I WANNA WATCH IT ON LOOP AKJDBFHSKJ

-AND WHEN BEAST!JIM PROTECTED CLAIRE? MY HEART

-Speaking of beast!Jim. Holy heckin heckadoodle my jaw DROPPED. I did NOT see that coming good golly gracious I was SHOOK

-Honestly I’m STILL shook

-His beast design is pretty dope. Not as cute as his half-troll form which is still my fav by far and always will be...but still pretty dope. (also, I’m sure some people will call it a full-troll version, which was my first thought too but...I don’t think that’s quite it? obviously it’s much more trollish than before but he still doesn’t have a real troll nose for instance. hm. oh well)

-A small note--despite being very disappointed that he turned human again at the end (which I will not dwell on too much here since I already made a more detailed post), I was not at all surprised that his soul in the shadow realm still appeared human. Cuz I mean. Like I’ve been saying for months, he’s always retained his human heart. It was only his body the potion changed. Just sayin’ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  

-Oh and one more small note. Corrupted!Jim/beast!Jim is MUCH more similar to deep!Jim than halftroll!Jim is. Yes the design is different, but the demeanor? MUCH closer. I’mma go ahead and go out on a limb and say THIS is what deep!Jim foreshadowed.

On that note I love that Nyles and Sarah keep their memories even if the day starts over. Would’ve been a completely different concept if they had to “meet each other for the first time” every day and it wouldn’t’ve allowed their relationship arc to evolve as it did

Not anything cheesy like “a true love’s kiss” or “you learned your lesson”. Pure logic and Sarah’s hard work to get there. Huge fan of this.

Overall thoughts: This episode was MUCH MUCH better on second viewing. I do think it’s a little bit too fast paced so a lot of things keep happening and there’s not enough time to process them in between?? Again the best moments are the quiet ones like the flight back and the Baltimore scene, but mad props to everyone from jumping between comedy and drama so fucking well. Even though there are, in tone, some very opposite atmospheres in the episode it never feels chaotic, and the situations that happen are very well connected and don’t feel disjointed at all.

The highlight of the episode was definitely the two different ways Sam and Bucky are (avoiding) grieving over Steve, and how his legacy hangs between them at all times. It makes so much sense for Bucky to take the entire situation so personally because Steve was the One thing he knew he could trust, while Sam is trying to see the bigger picture and not just what Steve demanded of him.

Elite S3 reactions (Episode by episode/overall thoughts +SPOILERSSSS)

So I know I post writing stuff but I have *EMOTIONS* about this show and no one to share them with so please ignore this post, if you don’t watch the show/don’t care. Includes spoilers so you’ve been warned.

Ok, I’m going to go episode by episode then do my overall feelings. I’d love to know anyone’s thoughts about the show so feel free to reblog! I just watched the show in 10 hours straight but alot goes on so I might not be able to remember every single conversation in a episode. Multiple characters have a lot going on at once. For reference, I don’t speak Spanish-I watch the show with English subtitles. 

-3x1: Carla

-Pretty solid start, we pick up a couple weeks after we left off. I felt so DUCKING bad for Carla the entire season and I understood why she lied in court about accusing Polo. Malick is introduced-am I the only who doesn’t like people who are persistent in asking other people out? Like my no is a no. Don’t annoy me, this is the kind shit people pull and pressure others into a relationship. It’s not endearing to me. So I automatically didn’t like him. 

-Lu gets kicked out but can someone tell me where she lives throughout the season? I figured she lived with her mom after her dad kicked her out but at the last episode, in the airport, she says both her parents have disowned her? Where has been living? Maybe she saved up money unlike Valerio idk. 

-3x2: Samuel and Guzman

-Samu is trying to get Carla back. I didn’t dislike them as a couple last season but I knew they were using each other, so I didn’t allow myself to get too close to them. But now I ship them. I wanted them together this season. Yeray is introduced-um, I still think he’s irrelevant. I did think for a moment that he was going to hold his money over Carla’s head so she’d stay with him but he didn’t even think for one second that was why Carla was trying to get with him (because her asshole dad pimped her out ugh) . He was only helpful when it came to the contract at the end.

-Deadass, I was going to exit out if Valerio had slept with Rebe’s mom. I thought that entire scene was pretty much sexual assault and it was creepy. He needs to go to rehab lmao.

-Polo trusting Guzman again was a dumb bitch move. So here’s how I feel about Polo. V unfortunately, I love him. He’s one of my fav characters. I know he’s a killer but Idk I think it’s the actor or something because he’s so pretty (the entire cast is beautiful) that I forgive everything he does?? Also I hated Marina by the end of S1 so he did me a favor. What I wanted from Polo was to embrace the fact that he was the villain. Like the times he threatened Lu by taking away the scholarship or (tried) to threaten Samu. Those scenes I was like hell fucking yes, no more wallowing. But noo this boy wanted forgiveness. Dude. You’re cute but you still killed someone, jesus. I would be so ashamed/guilty to be hanging out with the brother of the person I killed. He played himself there big time. The tweets were interesting way of revenge and ofc Caye used that to her advantage. She’s a leech but I thought she used the fact that she had the murder weapon (as leverage for Polo to stay with her) waaay more. 

3x3: Cayetana and Valerio

-Strange couple but eh, better than incest. So in this episode, Samu makes a deal with the worst detective ever (every season, she fails to solve a case lmao) and I don’t blame him. He’d do anything to get Nano back, it’s why he tried to get Polo arrested for an entire season. It’s shitty that he did that to Rebe but I understand why. Before this season, I thought Rebe was irrelevant because she wasn’t really fleshed out but after this season, I grew to like her a lot. It hurt watching her and Samu get close because everytime she said something like ‘you’re the only good thing in my life’ I was like girl, he’s the reason why you’ve lost everything ugh. It was uncomfy and sad to watch. 

-Ander and Omar. I liked them-didn’t like what Ander did last season but he did confess and was forgiven. So Omar’s whole cheating thing came out of left field and it wasn’t! Even! Properly! Confessed! to! Ander!!!! Oof. Ander SUFFERED this season. But I’m glad the writers chose cancer over HIV because there’s so much stigma attached to that disease and the LGBT community and I’m tired of that narrative. 

3x4: Lu

-I’ve always respected the hell out of Lu. Yes, she’s been a bitch for the past 2 seasons but she was always upfront about her actions. She didn’t like you, she let you know. This was her shining season and I loved her Valentine reversal. She looked hot, she really looked out for Nadia/Ander this episode (and the entire season). She could’ve revealed the cheating but she didn’t. I feel like S1 Lu would’ve so she’s come full circle. She said NO to Guzman which was everything. Oh speaking of which, I actually like Guzman. He’s really developed as a character in terms of temper. I like that he wanted to move on from hating Polo. But when he’s with Nadia, he irritates me. 

-I don’t have Muslim parents but I have Muslim cousins. My parents are immigrants. They’re not extreme like Nadia’s but like I feel Guzman goes out of his way to make Nadia’s home life worse. He’s knows her parents are conservative but he’s strides in the store and tells them about how their daughter can’t study. Should Nadia had said something? Yes but how could she? She has responsibilities to her parents. Her 2 other siblings have been kicked out. Nadia claims that her religion is important to her but Guzman repeatedly disrespects it. I couldn’t be with someone like that. It wasn’t cute that he offered to work so Nadia could study-which we saw him do ONCE. It’s overbearing. Also Nadia just forgives him so easily, it’s like dude, do you not care? So I like Guzman-he’s actually a good friend to Ander and formerly, Polo but my god, he’s so disrespectful when it comes to Nadia.

-Also I liked the threesome, not as good as Christian/Polo/Carla but not bad.

3x5: Ander

-Best episode this season, hands down. I loved the opening song and sequence. The scene where Polo’s parents catch him with Valerio and Caye really got my gears thinking-I was like if I were a parent (don’t want kids but ya know, if I did), how would I react to that? I’d like to think that I’d be very accepting of my kid (given they’re not hurting themselves or others) in terms of sexuality, religion, etc. But I was like hmmm, being polyamorous?? Not one I would be prepared for. But if the kid is happy, I guess. That was random but those were my thoughts. 

-Rebe finding out it was Samu who sold them out hurt like a bitch. BUT MY GOD THE BLACKLIGHT REVEAL!! Ugh the best. I had to pause, I was so shook. And Malick and Omar reveal to Nadia. Jesus. I loved her reaction but it was immediately undermined by the next episode when she forgives her brother. Like I get it, they’re siblings. But she should’ve held it against him longer. Omar got 0 consequences for cheating this season-not from Ander or Nadia. Tf.

3x6: Rebeca

-Carla is on drugs. Yikes. Again, her dad was pimping her all season so I get it girl. Also anyone else think the adults are stupid in the show?? All of their parents are business people but one bad financial move, they’re on their asses and almost bankrupt? Happened with Guzman’s dad and now Carla’s. Do they not invest in other things? Idk have a savings account?

-Also Samu and Guzman being friends. Top tier content. Chef’s kiss. Full circle and character development to the max. Ngl I felt a little bit of homoerotic tones there?? Just me?? I would ship them over any other couple if they got to together for just one night. 

-Nadia sharing the scholarship with Lu. Ugh. Everything. Loved that.

-Ander lying to Omar about having an affair. Ew. I know he was trying to push Omar away but like he was the one cheating? So either call him out on that or just break up with no reason. Don’t make yourself look bad dude. Ugh but the both of them sobbing at the end of their breakup...my heart shattered. That was GREAT acting. 

-Polo saving Carla. We all liked that. 

3x7: Nadia and Omar

-FUCK Ander’s mom for expelling them. I went to private school-there’s rules in place for parents who have money so they don’t manipulate the administration. Polo’s moms needed to let their son fight his own battles. Also Ander’s mom calling Guzman to come over to talk to Ander was really strange. She just expelled him. I know he’s Ander’s best friend but idk, she just expelled him. And they don’t even talk about it at Ander’s house. Again, this is the Guzman I like-the loyal/good friend. Loved the convo between him and Ander. 

-I liked Carla’s honesty to Yeryay and that they could possibly be friends. I always knew he idealized her for standing up for him on social media so I’m glad they acknowledged that. 

-Also Lu’s comment to Nadia that she looks like a pistachio was everything. And her ‘People are watching’ line in the previous episode is great too. 

-KEVIN FUCKING MCHALE made a cameo. Hell yes. And ofc, great speech by Nadia and Lu. Polito’s last conversations really did a lot for me to symphatize with his character (He didn’t have to do much because I still liked him despite his murdering). He got his moms to face the fact that they can’t throw money at every problem and that he is a killer. This scene and the beginning scenes of the next episode is what made me at peace with his character. I knew he was going to die but like this is what he needed for some sort of redemption. 

3x8: Polo

-Not the best ending for such a good season. But the first 15 minutes which are the convos and events that led up to Polo’s death was good. I never suspected Lu for a second, I really thought Valerio (Had some decent motive-more than Nadia, less obvious people like Samu and Guzman) had done it. But when I rewatched the trailer, you see that the writers told us it was her all along. Her line about the ELITE gang being family and that she’d protect them was a clue. She had the least interaction with Polo himself throughout the season so I never had time to even suspect her. Really brilliant. 

-Them touching the murder weapon is powerful. This was the only way to end things. I figured by episode 6ish that everyone was working together based on their answers in the flashforwards. And I half laughed because no sane police force would allow the witness/potential suspects to hang out together before interrogation. At least not without police watching them. 

-I do think it’s odd that Samu asked Rebe to ask her mom to get rid of Polo because he literally betrayed her and she talks to him (although mad) despite that. OKayyy. I really thought we were going to get the Samu and Carla get-together but guess not. I feel cheated by that because they clearly wanted each other all along. 

-The endings weren’t the best. I do appreciate that Omar made the right call in the end and I’m glad Ander is in remission. Oof my gripe though was with Nadia and Omar’s parents. So Lu goes to the airport and admits hey my parents disowned me and they’re like of course, we’ll be your family. AND I WAS LIKE ‘WHAT ABOUT OMAR??’ Y’all were so willing to kick him out and they never really made amends. So like I get that Omar’s dad is trying by acknowledge that Ander is Omar’s boyfriend but I mean during Omar’s mom’s dinner, he had no right asking him about his studies. He didn’t move out. Y’all kicked him out. How do you think he’s doing, trying to find a place to sleep? Jesus. Also the mom isn’t all good. Again, if I were a mom, I don’t understand how I could live without knowing if my kid is okay since they’re not living with me. My mom is a single mom-I know there’s no man in the world, not my dad, no one that she would chose me over. If my husband kicked my kids out, no questions, the husband is going to the curb or I’m going with my kids. Idgaf. The mom should’ve stood up. It just made me so angry that they were like poor Lu, no family but they mistreated their own child. 

OKAY so overall thoughts...I thought this was a really good season. I’d say 1st was the best, then this one, and then second (Ngl I don’t remember the 2nd one too much okay). I liked that it was more angsty and more character focused then the whodunnit? part that we’re used to. The entire cast has such strong acting and I’m going to miss whoever isn’t returning for S4. I’m going to miss Polo as well goddamn. 

Best moments of the season: Lu saying/doing ANYTHING-I have feelings, bitch. Her friendship with Nadia and other characters. Carla standing up to her pimp dad. Ander being in remission (his acting was great too). All of episode 5. Kevin McHale cameo. 

Worst moments: Polo asking Guzman if he would ever be forgiven?? And I know he did end up forgiving him but like bro, just because I don’t want to harbor hate for the rest of my life, doesn’t mean I forgive you for killing my sister whatttt. Omar never confessing to Ander about the cheating. Like no consequences and his character was just demolished this season. Still don’t know where Lu lived this entire season lmao. Anything Ander’s mom did to the students ugh.

Overall, I liked this season. It felt more mature for a high school TV show. I’m not super invested into any particular ship so I don’t feel cheated like most people. It takes me a while to get into ships but once I do, I get really invested. The only ship I was really disappointed in not seeing was Carmuel because Carla went through alot this season and Samu clearly wanted to be with her. And that’s all I had to say lmao.

Thoughts on Thirteen Reasons Why Season 3

I just binged it all in one sitting and I have a lot of opinions on everything I just witnessed...

Let start off with:

THE GOOD:

- TYLER. Literally everything about Tyler. The transformation of this character was so amazing to watch. I cried like a little bitch when he told Clay the truth abd also when he has that photo gallery in Monet's. I love him. No one can say anything about him. I will fight you.

- Surprisingly...... CLAY. The past two seasons I had nothing but negative things to say about him. I absolutely HATED clay in season one and two. He was annoying, pretentious, controlling, obsessive, obnoxious...just overall terrible. BUT. This season he was refreshingly enjoyable to watch. Like I get he was going through some deep shit with Hannah but it was nice to see him a bit more free and happy this season. There were points where he reverted to that annoyingly stubborn clay from the past but for the most parts I really loved his scenes and wanted more of it. I'm actually shook.

- ANI. I'm literally shocked that there's so much hate for this character. I mean I get it. She's shitty and hypocritical..she slept with Bryce for fucks sake and tried to say that Jessica did. I get that. And it's terrible. But I enjoyed the new perspective she brought into the show. I thought she and Clay were really cute together (much cuter that he and Hannah imo) and overall she served her purpose. The writer's created this character to explore Bryce in a different way. Truly honestly Bryce can choke but it was interesting to watch. But ultimately I found ani cool funny spunky and overall an enjoyable addition to the show

- DEPUTY STANDALL IS THE GREATEST PARENT ON THE SHOW MR WALKER IS SHAKING.

THE MEH

- JUSTIN. I can objectively say that his scenes with Clay were really cute and I love their brotherhood but personally I was never a fan of Justin's character. Especially in season 2. I just hate the addiction storyline. It's never interesting and I hate that it followed over into season 3 and it was so choppy and inconsistent.

- JESSICA. I just felt like her story dragged for a while. She had one too many rousing speeches and it got tiring quick. I can appreciate her message but I felt like time could have been better spent than multiple scenes that are literally the same as the last. This is not to say I don't like her or anything. I know I'll probably get a lot of hate for saying this but also liking Ani but it's my opinion and if you don't agree that's cool.

THE BAD

- WHERE IS ZACH???? ZACH DEMPSEY IS THE GREATEST CHARACTER OF THIS SHOW AND HE DESERVED BETTER THAN A 10 MIJUTE TOTAL SCREENTIME. JUSTICE FOR ZACH.

- ALEX STANDALL WAS ROBBED OF AN ACTUAL FUCKING STORYLINE. If the writer's think making him the jilted lover was creative and original they need several seats. It was annoying just watching him only ever just yell at Jessica and getting angry. Like. Give me more Alex and his family. Give my Alex struggling to recover. He wanted a gun. Okay. For what? He was barely even screentime. Did he feel guilty for killing Bryce? Or did he feel guilty that Clay was taking the fall? Where was the angst with his character? I don't want any of this behind the scenes bullshit. Give him actually screentime!!

- ZALEX DESERVED BETTER AND I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL

- This might seem random but I ABSOLUTELY HATED THE EDITING!! I hated the transitions of the colored past to the desaturated present. Like,, this is not How to Get Away With Murder. There were better and much more creative ways to indicated time jumps and this stupid color this actually annoyed me. It looked like a snapchat filter. I did not enjoy it. Also, this show seems like it's having an identity crisis. Why were there so many strange and different shots this season? I liked them but it seems so out of place considering they never done so in the previous seasons.

- That annoying ass chick from Jessica's club. Ughh

Overall, I really enjoyed this season even though I don't think it even knew what it was doing. I feel like there was many many storyline going on that everything just seemed muddled snd confusing for a while. Sometimes less is more and I'm 1000% certain that way more people would enjoy the show if it simply focused on the characters abd not a convoluted murder mystery that really wasn't important to anybody. I forgot to add this above but TONY PADILLA OWNS THIS ASS. I absolutely loved him and would die for him. He is just.....*chef's kiss*

oh I think I’m supposed to answer all the questions actually! and I’m doing a rewatch so it’s fresh in my mind :D

1. Favorite episode and why

Oh it’s hard to pick, but “The Van Gogh Job” is so beautifully done and really shows off everyone’s acting skills. I think it can be really hard for a show to pull off “these actors are playing different characters” for an episode but this is maybe the best example I’ve ever seen.

2. Funniest/crackiest/it’s-terrible-but-I-still-love-it episode/scene

“COR BLIMEY GUVNAH, THEM’S LOADED WITH SEA ROACHES!”

3. It’s-terrible-and-I-hate it episode/scene

There are...several more transphobic jokes in this show than I remember there being, and they are not great!

“The Long Way Down Job,” Parker’s speech about wanting to do the right thing. MY HEART.

5. Best episode/scene for my favorite ship

Every Parker/Hardison scene in “The Queen’s Gambit Job” is amazing, but especially the one where he’s humming while on the phone with her to help her “dance.”

6. Best episode/scene for a particular supporting character

I mean I don’t really “like” Sterling but “The Queen’s Gambit Job” is probably my favorite episode with him, just because it’s got such a great twist and watching him bounce off of Eliot is so fun

7. Best episode/scene for a character I don’t usually like

I find Nate.........wildly dull and have actually nodded off during Nate-centric episodes during this rewatch a few times. SORRY!!! but his speech at the end of “The Cross My Heart Job” is really good.

8. Most visually beautiful or interesting episode/scene

I mean “interesting” is maybe not the best descriptor but the camera work in “The Office Job” is just... *chef’s kiss*

9. Most emotionally affecting episode/scene

This is a weird answer but I completely forgot about the scene in “The Future Job” where Parker gets cold-read by the psychic and she’s like “LET’S KILL HIM” and Eliot is like “...I mean, I could do that, do you want me to do that?” I just think that’s a really sweet moment since they’re not that close at that point.

10. Most powerful use of music in an episode/scene

Mmm, I don’t pay a ton of attention to the music in this show tbh, but like, obviously there’s Hardison playing the solo in “The Scheherazade Job.”

11. Episode/scene that changed my perspective on the show

I fell in love with this show basically from the first episode on, but I remember the first episode I really connected with was “The Stork Job,” because Parker is my favorite and we get some great Parker backstory and character work in that episode.

12. Episode/scene where the acting stands out

I mean I already said “The Van Gogh Job,” but y’know, that.

13. Overall best-written episode

“The Rashomon Job” is just the best...it’s just the best.

10. 2011

This I feel, is a common opinion. I recently was watching a rerun of 2011 with some ESC friends on discord and I kept on calling this song “Zero Chemistry” because,,,, well. The lack of chemistry the two singers have here make me straight up uncomfortable especially after the bridge (and my boyfriend agrees with me). Like, I can tell they’re not actually in love and they’re acting and when it’s that obvious, its just- egh. As for the song, well its cute (may have even been stuck in my head in my final art exam) but there were ten out of ten better songs that year (Lena) and while it defs is a qualifier, it ain’t a winner.

9. 2017

Thing is…. I can totally see why this won, unlike 2011, so that’s why it’s not last. But I didn’t like the guys attitude (the winner speech) and the song isn’t my jam. The winners reprise with the sister was sweet and tbh I cannot fault that as she really was half his journey. But thats all I have to say about is.

8. 2016

First, this has NOTHING to do with Dami Im. For political reasons,,, this is quite low but that doesn’t mean I hate it. It’s actually quite a good song and oh my gosh her voice. It’s just- *chefs kiss* But also, whenever I hear this song I have a specific embarrassing memory comes to my head (think, high note no earphones silent room) and that has turned me off the song a bit. And yes, I think this song was far too politically included to compete in Eurovision, but there are always those that slip through the cracks (Armenia am I right). And I am a history nerd so I cant fault the history behind it. Just that damn memory- 

7. 2018

Picture this. I am 17, freshly getting into my big europhase. And so I pay attention to the contest for the first time ever, pick my favourites and then this won. I was shocked. Yes it was quirky but I never thought it would win, and I think it’s victory might have been partly because of #MeToo. It’s a bop though, just still don’t think it was a winner. Sorry, Israel. (although i am a tiny bit happy that Salvador handed over to this oops)

6. 2015

Ahh, 2015 and your overwhelmingly strong top 3, what would we do without you. Let me preface that while Heroes is a bop and defs deserved to do as well as it did, I personally think Italy or Russia’s performances were more powerful and raw than this. That said, Sweden still earned this win, and I cannot fault that. However, since I am so undecided on whether I like it as a winner, it cannot be higher. Sorry Mans. (also we must humble Sweden)

5. 2019

I really wanted Australia to win in 2019, and  I was a little taken aback when they didn’t place as well as they should have. And I really think that that affected how I saw The Netherlands’ win, even though it was a rightful winner. Now looking back on it, I can see why it won. It is a beautiful song, almost haunting in a way, and I think it really takes you on a journey. It’s simplistically beautiful. Tired 5:30am me just slept on it in favour of her own country. 

4. 2012

Please do not shoot me… please. I know this song is the crowning glory of the ESC and I get that that and I see why. It is a masterpiece, a great song (and excellent for the shower). But I can get sick of songs and often I go through periods of straight up hating Euphoria, and not being able to listen to it. And that alone bumps it down a few rungs. 

3. 2014

This changed things, not just in Eurovision but this queen became an icon! How many winners can say that? Her winner’s speech, the fact that she wasn’t what people saw as the norm- I love everything about this win and believe it was so so important for the LGBT community and it calls for acceptance. Not only that, the song is so good too? Like, this song makes my straight ass feel like a drag queen ready to take on the world. And I can vibe with that. Also, the subtle lyric change in the finale,,,, mmmm yeah that’s what I am talking about. (also i will die in the golden dress)

2. 2013 

I really love this. It is so beautiful and just sounds so fresh and new, and I think that is thanks in part to the flute with really gives the song so much flavour. Like, this song makes me want to run through the Danish forests in a white dress. The lyrics also are pretty universal and you can relate them to nearly anything, something as intimate as a break up or it can be a call for peace. Emmelie is absolutely beautiful too, she seems like a super sweet person, which always helps in my books. I just,,,, really like this, go Denmark.

1. 2010

Remember how I said favourite and not best. This and Euphoria are what come into play. Anyone who knows me well enough can testament to how much I love this song. This song is a staple on my playlist, I never can get sick of it and it has nostalgic value as it’s one of the first ESC songs I listened to. Asides, Lena is straight up adorable and I love how she won it with charm and not a stage show or anything. Overall, I don’t really care what people say about this one, she earned this win hands down (it’s one of the biggest margins ever) and it will always hold a special place in my heart.  (i may or may not love germany but even then i still think i would love this song)

I’m an emotional wreck when I get into the car and Nick greets me with a friendly smile. The silence is comforting, though I miss the country music Shawn used to play every time he was in a good mood.

I’m not a nail biter, but I nibble on them as we are getting closer and closer to Shawn’s place and I’m trying to come up with a plan on how I want to do it. Should I just blurt it out or should I build it up properly like a speech that ends with me telling him that he is going to be a father?

None of the options seem to be right, so after a while I give up and decide to just go with the flow.

When Nick rolls into the garage my nerves are exploding and my hands are shaking when I get out of the car. I take the elevator and I feel like my stomach was left in the garage when the elevator moved up.

The door opens and I walk into the familiar apartment. I hear his singing voice coming from the kitchen even before I could see him and it immediately brings a smile to my lips. I don’t know what I was expecting to see or how I imagined our first meeting after our emotional goodbye, but it feels… normal.

I walk into the kitchen and he looks up at me from the instant soup he is making and a wide smile dances to his beautiful face. He looks just as handsome as I remembered, his hair is now a bit longer, a curl is dancing on his forehead with every movement, but it’s beyond adorable. I have to fight the urge to curl it to my finger.

“Hi!” he greets me and stepping closer he pulls me into a hug, and I feel like I’m finally safe and home.

“Hi,” I whisper against his hoodie as I wrap my arms around his waist. Smelling his scent makes is even harder to peel myself off of him when it’s long over the friendly duration for the hug. “Instant soup, huh?” I ask hoping to make myself forget about the aching pain in my chest that I’m feeling now that he is standing next to me again.

“I don’t have lunch or dinner dates anymore, so I’m more often stuck here alone. And I’m still not a chef,” he chuckles shaking his head.

“Ordering is still an option, you know?”

“I… haven’t been quite in the mood to talk to strangers, not even a delivery guy,” he mumbles anxiously as he puts a spoon into the soup and stirs it. Steam is dancing above the bowl indicating that it’s still pretty hot, so he doesn’t attempt to taste it, just lets it sit on the counter.

I can relate to how he is feeling and I’m surprised he shared this detail with me. I was afraid he would be distant and sullen with me, but his honesty is calming me.

“Do you want a glass of wine or something?” he asks walking over to the fridge. I almost say yes immediately, some alcohol would definitely work for me, but then I realize that I can’t. Because there is a teeny-tiny baby in my stomach now.

“Um, no thank you,” I shake my head and watch him grab a water for both of us.

“So, not that I’m rushing you, but I’m really curious about what you wanted to talk about.”

We make ourselves comfortable on the couch and I feel my anxiety coming over me. I have no idea how to do it, but I can’t just blurt it out. I need time to think.

“I… I’ve been missing you.”

He gives me a doubtful look and I’m afraid he can see through me, but then he doesn’t question if this was my original intention. But I start talking again just to be sure.

“I’ve been thinking about you a lot and I just couldn’t get you off of my mind. I know I was the one who wanted to end everything, but… I guess I can’t do it.”

I feel horrible. I should have told him straight away instead of talking bullshit. Well, okay, it’s not bullshit, it’s true, I’ve been missing him as hell, but this is not why I came here.

He runs his hand through his hair and I think back of the time I used to do this without a second thought. Now I’m sitting next to him with a decent gap between us, so our legs can’t touch.

“I missed you too, Naya. So much. But… what do you want to do? I mean… I’m happy to start seeing you again, but we have to figure this out, how we want to make it work.”

I nod with a blank stare and I don’t know what I can say. If I don’t tell him about the pregnancy test I’m just fucking everything up, making him believe things are turning right and we can start over again, when truth is, everything is about to turn upside down.

For my luck, his phone starts ringing somewhere in his room and he excuses himself rushing into the room to answer the call.

I growl angrily as I reach for my bag and grab the test. I stare at it and can’t help but grimace. What am I doing here? I can’t ruin his life, I was the stupid one who forgot to take the pill, so it’s all my fault. A child would blow up his whole life and I can’t put up with the thought of messing everything up for him. I shouldn’t have come here.

I jump when I realize he is walking out of his room and in my sudden confusion I tug the stick to my coat’s pocket hiding it as I jump to my feet. I have to leave before I fuck something up.

“Where are you going?” he asks with raised eyebrows.

“I-I gotta leave. I’m sorry.” I mumble nervously as I head to the elevator, but he grabs my arm and… and everything happens too fast.

His grip is not too hard, but it’s strong enough to pull my hand out of the pocket and the stick slides out with it as well. It falls to the floor and the clinking makes me jump. I totally freeze right at that moment, giving Shawn the chance to reach for it.

As I watch him pick the test up from the floor I hold my breath and pull my shoulders up, as if I’m afraid he is about to explode. He hold it between his fingers, stares at it for the longest few seconds before his eyes slowly move up to my face. I’m biting my lips, feeling the tears dwelling in my eyes.

Why didn’t I put the damn test back into my bag? Why am I such an idiot?

“Shawn, I-“ I start, but I don’t get to finish, he cuts me off.

“Is this yours?” he asks in a firm voice. I nod.

“I took it this morning. I threw up last night and realized I’ve been late for over a week, so I bought the test and…”

“Did you do it on purpose?” I hear his next question and the words freeze to my tongue.

“What?” I manage to say.

“Did you get pregnant on purpose? Were you planning on it?”

His expressions are hard, he seems mad and it’s scary to see him like this. I didn’t want to upset him and his questions catch me off-guard. I stare at him in disbelief, but it soon turns into anger. How can he think I did this on purpose?

“Sure, I thought it would be fun to mess up my and your life as well!” I snap back angrily. “Of course I didn’t! I forgot to take the damn pills!” I growl as I snatch the test from his hand. Now I’m raging and I’m offended by the accusation.

“You told me not to worry about it! And yet, you have a positive pregnancy test in your bag now!” he retorts just making it even worse.

“I’m sorry, I was too busy trying not to fall apart! I’m sorry I’m human! But if you think I did this on purpose then I’m leaving now. It was a mistake to come here.”

I turn around furiously, but he grabs my arm again holding me back. When I turn back to him his face is completely changed. He doesn’t seem mad anymore, more like… desperate.

“Hey, hey, hey. I’m sorry! I didn’t… I just- I’m in shock, okay? I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

“And you think I’m not shocked?” I scoff in disbelief. “This morning I found out that I’m pregnant, I came here to find comfort and maybe to find out what we should do now, and then you accuse me of doing it on purpose!” Tears are running down on my cheeks and though I try to push him away, he pulls me to him and closes his arms around me no matter how badly I’m trying to get away from him. “I’m so fucking shook, I’m terrified and I really thought seeing you would make me feel better, but I’m still so afraid.”

Now I’m full on crying, I’m sobbing into his shirt but he doesn’t seem to care. His strong arms hold me tight to his body and I just want to stay like this forever. He is stroking my hair gently, soothing me without letting go of me. I’m glad he is holding me because my knees feel like jelly.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you, I wasn’t thinking. It’s okay baby,” he whispers into my hair pressing a kiss to my temple.

“I’m sorry for raging so bad. I’ve been on an emotional rollercoaster in the last 24 hours,” I mumble wiping my tears off of my face, but I know my eyes has already swelled and as red as a tomato.

“It’s fine. Come on, let’s sit down and talk, okay?”

I nod my head and he pulls me back to the couch. He gently takes my coat off and sitting down he pulls me close, circling an arm around my shoulders. His body’s heat is attracting me like I’m a bug and he is the only light in the room. I cuddle to his side and enjoy the momentary silence as I slowly realize I’m somehow relieved. The secret is out, he knows about the test, now we can focus on figuring out everything else.

“I’m sorry about the pill. I should have been more careful, it’s my fault,” I mumble and looking up at him I my gaze meets his soft eyes. All the anger and doubt is gone by now, I have my soft Shawn back, thanks God.

“Don’t say that. I should have been more persistent about using a condom too. We are in this together. But we really have to figure out the next step.”

“The next step is that I have a doctor’s appointment for tomorrow. These test are pretty reliable, but I need to see a professional as well.”

“Cancel the appointment, I’ll get you one in a private hospital. They are very trustworthy and we can sneak in without getting noticed.”

I don’t protest, I’m more than happy to keep it a secret for as long as possible. The last thing I need is to get recognized as I’m going to the gynecologist with Shawn.

“And we have to tell at least Andrew. He would kill me if something got out without him knowing about it.”

“He is going to hate me for life,” I sigh sadly, shutting my eyes closed. He runs his hand up and down my arm soothingly.

“Hey, don’t worry. Andrew is a smart guy, he doesn’t hold a grudge for nothing. And as I said, I was there too when…” His other hand gently slips under my sweater to my stomach. “When this baby thing happened. You remember?”

His playful smile calms me a bit. I’m suddenly very aware of his warm palm on my stomach and it’s so strange, to think about the tiny baby in my stomach.

“Shawn?” I speak up after a few silent moments.

“Hm?”

“I’m scared.” My voice is just a dying whisper and the damn tears are flowing again from my eyes, I can’t help it. Startled from my sudden mood change he sits straight up so he can look into my eyes, he cups my face in his hands and runs hid thumbs across my cheeks.

“Don’t be. It’s going to be alright. I’m not letting you do this alone, okay?” I nod my head sniffing like a little child. “I know it’s very sudden and scary, but you are not alone. I’m here and we are in this together.”

Now I’m crying because he is the sweetest person alive. His kind and soothing words comfort me like nothing on the world and even though this is a shitty situation I’m still happy I get to do this with him.

“I just… Don’t feel like I’m ready for this,” I choke out shaking my head.

“You will be ready for this when the time comes. I know we can make this work, okay? Just… don’t give up. We have someone else to think about now,” he lets out a small chuckle making me laugh through my tears.

Thanks to the emotional shock we both went through we doze out on the couch soon. When I open my eyes it’s already dark outside, meaning I spent almost half of the day napping with Shawn on his couch. His arms are hugging me protectively as he is spooning me from behind. I don’t want to wake him up, but one, I really have to pee and two, it’s time for me to leave, I don’t intend to spend the night here. Our situation doesn’t mean we are back on track.

I successfully peel myself out of his grip and make it to the bathroom. After quickly taking care of my business I check on him, he is still sleeping, now hugging a pillow to his chest. I take a moment to admire how peaceful he looks right now. No drama, no worries, just his angelic face that I still love so dearly.

As I feel myself getting emotional I turn away and grabbing my stuff I leave. I don’t call for Nick, I get a cab and head home.

I guess my message is clear to Shawn, he doesn’t call me that day. In the morning he texts me that he is picking me up at the café to go to the clinic and he also lets me know we are having a meeting with Andrew and Justin later, though I have no idea who Justin is. Definitely not Bieber.

Elisa is not home when I wake up, I’m thankful I don’t have to face her, she knows me too damn well and I know it would take one look and she would know something is off. I need more time to figure things out.

I have a beanie on and my scarf is covering half my face so I’m not recognizable. From my previous month spent with Shawn I expect him to be distant and moody after I left without a word yesterday, but I guess the situation is different now. I’m welcomed with a bright smile as I sit into the car.

“Hey, how are you feeling?” he asks me kindly.

“Um, fine. I was a bit nauseous in the morning, but I’m better,” I sigh tiredly. I leave out the part where I spent ten minutes kneeling next to the toilet because I was pretty close to throwing up. “Who is this Justin we are meeting later?” I ask.

“Justin Stirling. He is in my team, he has been doing a lot of marketing stuff for me lately, but he was busy with family stuff last month.”

I nod my head noting the information. The rest of the car ride is spent in silence. I feel so strange, before this whole pregnancy drama Shawn was always the dominant one, especially because he was kind of my boss. But now he looks so lost and confused, my news yesterday must have thrown him over the edge. He is looking out for my every mood and it’s starting to make me feel uncomfortable.

We make it into the clinic without anyone noticing us. This is definitely not how I imagined my first trip to the doctor when I become pregnant. It’s far from idyllic, I’m nervous, my hands are shaking so I hide them in my pocket, Shawn is like a jumpy kid, looking out for everything around us.

“Hello, I’m Dr. Hosier, please, come in,” the doctor greets us. She is a lovely middle-aged woman with a warm smile which is quite calming. We follow her into the room and while I sit up on the white bed Shawn takes place next to me. “So tell me, what do we know so far?” she asks as she is getting ready for my examination.

“Um, I’ve been late for about nine days now, in the past two days I’ve been feeling nauseous and I threw up once. I took a test and it came out positive.” I’m nervous to talk about it with Shawn right next to me, but I try not to think about it.

“Okay. Any pain maybe in the lower stomach?”

“No,” I shake my head.

Soon my pants and underwear comes off and I sit with my legs up while Dr. Hosier is facing my lower half. She keeps asking me questions, I just stare up at the ceiling and answer them like a robot. Shawn looks tensed as he is looking at the doctor.

“I’m going to do an ultrasound quickly,” she informs me she helps me put my legs down. I’m trying to breathe evenly as she pours some jelly on my stomach and starts roaming it with that… something. I don’t even know what these things are, this is how unprepared I am!

All three of us is staring at the screen that is filled with black and white void, I don’t see anything, but the Dr. Hosier freezes the picture and puts a circle around a teeny-tiny dot in the lower part of the image.

“Well, I have news. You are in fact pregnant, Miss Duvall and that little dot is the baby.”

I guess she can sense how unwelcomed the situation is, so she keeps her congrats to herself. She quickly tells me that we need to reserve another appointment soon, she talks about vitamins and useful information while I wipe my stomach clean and get dressed.

“Here, this is for you,” she tells me handing me an envelope. Opening it I see two copies of the ultrasound picture. I just thank her quietly wanting nothing more than to just finally leave the clinic. It is official now, I’m pregnant.

The realization hits me hard across my face as we walk out of the room and head to the car. Neither of us is talking, I’m scared, mad and desperate about the situation and I’m pretty deep in my thoughts when Shawn takes my hand and stops me before I could walk out of the building.

“Naya, let’s… talk for a minute, okay?”

I just nod my head as we sit down in two seats in the corner. No one is batting an eye at us fortunately.

“I, uh- I just wanted to tell you that… I know it’s scary and everything, and Andrew will probably explode when we tell him, but… I’m totally in.”

“In what?” I ask confused.

“In this. In us, in investing in this pregnancy. I want to be part of it, no matter how crazy things will get. And I guess I’m not saying anything new if I say I want us to… continue from where we were before things went downhill.”

“Things didn’t go downhill, our work came to its end and I did the logical thing.”

“But this is not work anymore. I want to give us a chance.”

I stare at him with mixed emotions. I don’t know what I want, I need time to figure out my next step. I have so much to worry about now that my feelings for Shawn must come second… or third… I’m more worried about what Andrew will say, how I’m going to work and what will people think if it ever gets out.

“I need time. It’s just too messy for me now. I’m sorry, but… I need to figure everything out.”

I can tell my answer doesn’t satisfy him, but he doesn’t protest. Pressing his lips together he nods shortly before we continue our way out of the clinic.

I’m shitting my pants when we reach the office complex where we are supposed to meet Andrew and Justin. I have no idea what to expect, but I’m sure it won’t be too pretty. Shawn tries to calm me telling me that it will be alright, but I know we are in trouble.

Shawn knocks on the door that has Andrew’s name on it and when we get the approval he opens the door.

“Ah, hey! I didn’t know you would be here too,” he immediately says when he sees me, confusion all over his face as he shakes hands with Shawn shooting him a questioning look. But he just ignores it and turns to the other guy in the room.

“Hey man, this is…” he starts gesturing at me, but he is not sure which name to use, so I step ahead and hold a hand out for Justin.

“I’m Naya. Hi.”

This is already over the work relationship I formed previously, my real name is justifiable. I see Andrew’s surprised face from the corner of my eyes and I know he is a smart guy, he must be putting the picture together slowly. But I bet he has no idea about the bomb we are about to drop onto him.

“Hey, Justin. Nice to meet you,” Stirling shakes my hand and soon we all take our places. Andrew is behind the desk, Justin is leaning against the bookshelf in the corner while Shawn and I are sitting in front of them.

“So, what is this meeting about?” Andrew questions. I turn to Shawn and he is already opening his mouth to answer.

“I have something to tell you, but I hope you won’t get mad. I just want you to listen to me.” Andrew nods and Shawn continues. “So… During the one month Naya and I kinda got cozy, if you know what I mean. In the last two weeks things escalated quickly, so it all took a romantic turn. But, um, w-we ended it when the month was over,” he adds and I’m staring at Andrew, trying to read his expressions, but I can’t. He is like a statue.

“Okay, go on, what is the problem?” he asks leaning back in his seat, but I have a feeling he already figured it out, because when he looks at me I can feel his eyes burning into my skin.

“We made a very reckless and immature mistake by… Um, we- we didn’t…” Shawn’s stuttering is getting under my skin, so I take a deep breath and just blurt it out.

“We didn’t use protection and I’m pregnant.”

The room falls silent, Andrew is staring at me, Shawn is staring at Andrew, Justin is staring at Shawn and I’m staring at the floor. The words felt heavy in my mouth and I’m afraid my heart is about to jump out of my chest.

After what feels like eternity, Andrew takes his glasses off pinching the bridge of his nose as he takes a few deep breaths. Once he places the glasses back he leans on the desk and finally speaks.

“Have you been to a doctor or you just did a test?” he asks in a calm, but distant tone.

“We went to the clinic together today. I was there, it’s one hundred percent,” Shawn answers for me.

“How many weeks are you?”

“It’s the fourth,” I mumble ashamed. Andrew’s questions are prim and strict, it all feels like an interrogation.

I look at Justin for the first time since Shawn started talking and his face looks blank, but I can tell his thoughts are racing, trying to figure out what to do with the situation.

“Okay, and what do you want?”

I furrow my eyebrows confused.

“What I want? I don’t understand it…”

“What do you want?” He repeats. “Money? Followers? A job? What do you want?”

“I don’t wa- You think I did this to get stuff from you or Shawn?” I ask realizing what this is about. Shawn’s first reaction was almost the same and now I’m definitely hurt. I never made them believe I’m a scheming bitch, why does everyone think I’m using them?

“Of course the thought crosses my mind, otherwise, how could you be so reckless to have unsafe sex?” he asks as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world, but it’s just making my blood boil.

“Andrew, it’s not-“ Shawn starts, but I cut him off.

“How dare you accuse me of being such a horrible person? You know nothing about me! Just because I work as an escort doesn’t mean I have such low life choices as getting myself knocked up by a client! You know what? It was a mistake to come here.” I grab my bag and throwing it on my shoulder I stand up, ready to leave. Everyone moves with me, Andrew and Shawn jump up and Justin takes a step towards me, all three of them to stop me, but the intentions are not the same. While Shawn wants me to stay because he cares about me, Andrew is just afraid is I slip out the door he can’t control the news anymore.

Shawn grabs my wrist and gently pulls me closer to him.

“Please don’t go, let’s talk.”

“You are not leaving without a confidentiality contract, no way you are walking out just like that,” Andrew growls and it’s just making it worse.

“You’re not making me do anything. I don’t need anything from you,” I spat at him and Shawn stands between us, as if he is afraid we would start a fist fight.

“Let’s calm down and talk, okay? Please!” he pleads, but behind him Andrew doesn’t seem too committed.

“I can’t deal with him if he is treating me like a bitch,” I say in a low voice, but the room is small, so everyone can hear it. Though I don’t care.

“Andrew, would you calm down? It was all an accident, she is not trying to ruin me,” he tells his manager turning to face him, but he is still holding my wrist.

I can tell Andrew is boiling inside, holding himself back not to throw the desk at me, and we are staring at each other like two hungry lions over the last piece of meat. Poor Shawn is standing in the middle, hoping he won’t have to pull us out of a fight anytime soon.

Then he takes a deep breath and nods.

“I’m sorry, but this was… quite shocking. I wasn’t expecting this.”

“I get it, it was a shocker for everyone, but let’s just talk about it, okay?” Shawn offers and I’m too tired and emotionally drained out to start a fight, so I nod my head agreeing.

We manage to sit back to our previous places and Justin stands right behind Andrew as we try to start it over again without the accusations and drama.

“I’m sorry for reacting so harshly,” Andrew starts, obviously thinking through his choice of words. “I’m just shocked, but of course, I don’t think you are trying to use Shawn. So… Let’s figure out what to do,” he offers and we all nod agreeing. “Was abortion ever an option?”

“No,” Shawn and I answer at the same time even though we never discussed it. Despite the difficulties of the situation I wouldn’t be able to abort this baby, it’s just impossible for me and I guess Shawn thinks the same way.

“Alright, then we need a strategy,” Andrew tells a bit more like to himself than to us as he is staring down at his desk. “Um… Are you guys…”

“Are you guys together now?” Justin asks speaking up for the first time in a while.

I see Shawn turning to me from the corner of my eyes, and his gaze is burning my temple as he is staring at me.

“It’s… it’s undefined. I have to figure a lot of stuff out.” I say feeling a bit guilty under their examining looks.

“But this is all joint now. Your decisions effect our work as well, I’m sorry, but you can’t just run free. Obviously, Shawn wants to take part in the baby’s life, so we have to work together. What stuff do you need to figure out?”

I feel awkward and anxious as I realize that he is right. I have to worry about myself, the baby and also consider Shawn as a third party, because he has the right to take part in this journey. I owe him honesty.

“I-I have to think about work, I need to talk to Joshua, because as soon as it gets visible I can’t work. But then I need money, because…” I don’t finish the sentence, I’m not ready to share my giant debts with them and listen to their pity. No way.

“Naya, I can support you financially. Let me help you out!” Shawn sighs obviously being over my shit, but I’m just too stubborn.

“No. That’s your money. I have my own problems to solve,” I protest.

“But I told you, we are in this together! I won’t just watch you struggle.”

“I can’t ask you to do me such a huge favor,” I shake my head staring down at my hands. I’m ashamed to admit how much debt I have to pay for every month.

“You’re not asking, I’m offering it.”

“Shawn stop!” I snap at him as I feel myself getting emotional again. “You have no idea how deep I’m in this shit! I inherited 1.2 million dollars of debts after my mom disappeared and left my number to everyone she was owing to, so now I’m paying thousands of dollars every month, because if I don’t, I might end up dead in a dumpster!”

My outburst is followed by total silence and my eyes are tearing up pretty quick. I didn’t mean to say it out loud, I never want people to know how much I struggle because of my own mother. She was a failure, never had a decent job so he paid for her debts by asking for more money from different people. Living this lifestyle for almost ten years can send you down the spiral, and when she disappeared after I moved out from her she left 1.2 million dollars worth of debt, forcing me to start working as an escort since this was the only job that offered me enough money each month to cover everything. I’ve paid back about half of the money by now, but I’m still coughing the rest every damn month. I was once late with paying, the next day two not too friendly guys showed up at my apartment and taught me a lesson with their fists. I never want to experience that. I scared the shit out of Elisa when she saw my black-eye.

“Can we… Can we have this conversation sometime later? I’m really not feeling good,” I say after a long time. I guess I shocked everyone with my outburst, they are all speechless. Shawn is the first one to recover after the scene.

“Um, Andrew how about we all have lunch tomorrow and talk about this? I think we all need some time to adjust the situation.”

I thank God for this offer, because I’m nauseous and anxious to sit here and talk about the future that involves a baby in my belly.

“It’s a great idea. Let’s just think about everything and come prepared the next time,” Justin nods agreeing and Andrew seems to be on the same page as well.

I put on my coat and keeping my gaze down I leave the office while Shawn exchanges a few words. I stop at the hallway waiting for him, chewing on my bottom lip I’m on the verge of crying once again. A few minutes later Shawn appears and seeing my long face he wraps an arm around my shoulders pulling me to his chest and this is exactly what I need right now.

“How about we get some takeaway, go to my place, eat and… just chill. Hm?” He offers mumbling into my hair, running his hands up and down my arms soothingly. I just nod my head, I’m too weak and stressed to talk and though I know I shouldn’t be getting closer to him, I just can’t resist. I need his presence, I want him to tell me it’s going to be okay, I just need somebody.

S1 Rewatch - Maggie’s Take [ 1.07 ]

Favorite scene

I genuinely can’t pick one. I can’t. This episode holds such a concrete piece of my heart and trying to choose one scene out of it feels impossible. So some honorable mentions -- Lucas and Jack in his office after “Thnks Fr Th Mmrs”; the entire paint balloon sequence; Farkle & Zay actually having a meaningful conversation and him gaining a better understanding of Zay; Riley & Lucas and her “you inspire them” speech; Riley & Isadora at Svorski’s where Isadora explains what Lucas means to her; WHEN THEY MEET IN THE PARKING LOT AT 9PM LAMFKSDJGLDG; the divas coming together; Riley & Lucas’s final scene “maybe you don’t have to do everything alone | no maybe not”... LIKE GOD!!!!!

Favorite performance

Dead tie between “Thnks Fr Th Mmrs” and “Yorktown (The World Turned Upside Down),” but I think the former might just eek out as the winner. It’s just... SO iconic. Sometimes I forget this song was in the show and it comes on shuffle and I just start cackling because it’s THAT LEGENDARY. Like of COURSE this is what the techies would launch into, of course they’d cause chaos down the halls and not give a fuck anymore. Also, although the influence is Lucas and the number is all the techies, this is REALLY Asher & Dylan’s first lead performance. They lead the vocals from the start, and are focal at the front of the techie brigade when Isadora and Lucas aren’t in the frame. Like this is truly their number, and I’m so proud of them for being so legendary. And then I mean... banger. Just banger! Top 10 performance of the season contender EASILY.

Favorite character (within context of the episode)

It’s gotta be Lucas James. He was a catalyst, a game-changer, a charmer, an inspiration, a troublemaker -- this was one of the first episodes where I feel like we get the full taste of his character and all his dimensions. Also the entire episode wouldn’t have kicked off without him, which is a nice role to boast. I still want my gifset that’s just “Lucas James + (:” and it’s all his little smirks throughout this episode -- because there were many. It was also fun to give him the chance to be a little theatrical, and sort of reveal that while Lucas isn’t a performer by any means, he is just as dramatic on the inside as any one of those divas, and that’s a lot of fun. But he also demonstrated a softer side that we hadn’t gotten to see much of yet -- in hesitating to hit Riley with the paint, listening to her actually say nice things about him, his “believe me, when I care about something, you’ll know” ... IDK, I just love him. I love a boy. This is his episode and I love him.

An underrated moment

Everything in this ep is simultaneously underrated because I love it with everything in me, but I would say Lucas cleaning up in the auditorium at the end of the episode before Riley shows up. I love that moment because like... he is so disdainful all the time, but I think he loves that auditorium. He loves AAA, despite everything he hates about it. It’s his home, and you always love your home even for it’s faults because it’s a place to feel safe and come back to when all is said and done.

First impression vs your reread impression

I loved this episode from its inception, and I love it now. It’s still my favorite even as we’re gearing up for S2 (although it might shift after S2 is said and done, it will always be the S1 fave). It has so many fun elements I love -- the PAINT BALLOON SEQUENCE; Riley’s crooning while covered in paint and thinking Isadora loves Lucas; TECHIES -- and just really feels like a *chef’s kiss* episode to me. I don’t know man, I don’t know! I can’t talk anymore I’m gonna cry.
