He knew people were hearing this, watching Captain John Price run for his life from Kate Laswell. If he survived this, this was going to haunt him for years.

There are certain times when Asiya enjoys the way people seem to cower whenever she arrives. It’s something she’s earned. Something she deserves after all she’s done to rebuild the life that was taken from her. She’s scratched and clawed and killed anyone whose been in her way to earn the kind of reputation that makes people hesitate to look at her.

Still, on nights like tonight, it can also be downright infuriating. Because nobody will step up and tell her what the hell is going on.

All she knows is that it’s six in the morning and her club was closed three hours early and the production on the lower levels had to be stopped because their cover was blown for the rest of the night.

So as she hastily makes her way towards the backrooms, through the mess that her club is after a long night, Asiya is annoyed at the way everyone refuses to look at her.

Normally she wouldn't even handle something like this on her own. She’s been building a small army for two years, she has people for this, but there are certain things that are simply her responsibility and Kate is at the top of that list.

“Where is she?” Asiya asks as she rounds the corner, finding a handful of her men and Tucker Lawson, the only one here who actually has a clue, waiting for her.

Tucker pushes past the fodder and waves her over. “We left her in the interrogation room, none of us know how to talk to her but she hasn’t been hostile.

Asiya rolls her eyes. “I told you, she won’t be, not unless I tell her.”

Just the idea of Captain MacMillan casually turning up on Price’s base wanting to check up on Price, because that man will forever be a child in his eyes, and instead running into every other possible person.

And every single one of them snitches on Price about something reckless or dangerous he has done since Mac came around the last time. All of them have something different to report on too.

Safe to say, Price received an hour long lecture on his behaviour.

The air was off the moment he arrived on base.

The hair on his arms pricked up and several times there was a shiver that made him shake. He had eyes on him as he walked to his office and by the time he got there he was on edge. Something was screaming at him when he stood in front of his door.

"Oh fuck this," he growled to himself before he opened the door.

"There's the bastard. Welcome back!"

Price froze, eyes widening as he saw fucking Mac sitting in his chair. He stood there at the door long enough for the man to scoff.

"Waiting for permission to enter your office?"

Price cleared his throat and stepped inside, "What are you doing here?"

"Visiting my old stomping grounds. Glad that you have yet to burn it down."

Price fake laughs, dropping his work bag on his desk, "Thought something was off, felt a shift in the air."

It was Mac's turn to laugh, but it was genuine. Retirement had a way of mellowing a bastard like MacMillan. He was already married by the time he made the decision to retire, had two sons. But, as he had joked plenty of times before, he always had to have an eye on the eldest.

"Been here three days."

Price felt his blood run cold, "You've what?"

"Kate has really grown into that boldness quite well. Though she knows now how to hold her tongue."

Of course she's involved. Price could see it in Mac's eyes that he had plenty to say to him. Three days on base while Price was still on leave? He was scared to know what all the boys had said to their "grand-captain".

"First off: An American? Really?"

Price immediately turned on his heel to run out the door. He managed to open the door and step out the office before he ran into a familiar chest. Nik had his mouth open, ready to say something, then he saw Mac. Needless to say he was equally horrified to see the man.

"I still haven't gotten to liking this one!"

Price didn't need to say anything for Nik to agree to retreat with him.

Soap laughed as Ghost kept his binoculars trained on the building where Price was no doubtedly reliving his younger, more mischievous years. The shades were down but Ghost still watched in hopes of getting a glimpse of something.

Gaz had returned with snacks and Ghost was considering giving it a rest to enjoy some crisps when the front door of the building flung open. Price and Nik running full speed out was everything.

"Get the camera- GET THE FUCKING CAMERA-"

Laswell had a delightful video to watch later, after she had the most hysterical phonecall that she's had with Price in years.

Can you explain what you mean abt how productions treats simone? I dont follow any bridgerton official accts are they like saying bad things about her?

It has taken me a little bit to get to this one, mostly because I have been genuinely sad about it. Not just in a silly little show way, but viscerally. Not just the way Simone has been treated but to see certain parts of the fandom go out of their way to defend this treatment.

Anyways, I’m adding a link to this unfortunately very long thread the lovely @chrkrose made detailing everything, including things like the Executive Producer calling Kate “a hooker” and Kate being depicted as a lizard on an official Bridgerton collaboration (so the answer to your question of are they saying bad things about her is a resounding yes)

But I will also quickly explain everything that went down post season 3 under the cut

Post Bridgerton season 3, when the cast list for season 4 came out, Simone’s name was not on the cast list. Now, if this was a normal production one would assume that she was not a part of season 4.

But this same writer had left her off the cast list for season 3 AFTER pictures of her from the set had already been leaked. And Simone had said multiple times, during the season 3 part 2 premiere that Kate is here to stay.

So there was considerable confusion among fans and the media as well. Several big outlets, including People, reported on it. There was nada from the production team, not a statement, not a single word, even after all this uproar.

If you’re tempted to think “oh maybe there were scheduling issues to sort out”, don’t be. Because when she won her Glamour award, an interview was released in the magazine. This interview happened earlier than when it was released, it took place somewhere around July 2024, when Bridgerton season 4 was scheduled to start filming. In this interview, she confirmed that she would be on season 4 and spoke about how much Kate Sharma meant to her as a character.

Then when Simone began doing press for her animated film The Night Before Christmas, in interviews, she once again spoke definitively about Kate being in season 4.

Now remember that in all this time, the cast list, that mentions everyone from Anthony to Varley, was still not updated to include Kate. Despite Simone outright confirming her presence 272839 times. And this is the second time a shondaland writer had left her off the cast list after her presence was confirmed.

Finally, during the Valentine’s Day event for season 4, in 2025, mind you, Jess Brownell says, “we are glad to have Jonny back with us for season four, oh and Simone”. And that’s the first statement in all this while mentioning anything about Kate.

And just as a cherry on the this cake, the trailer for season 4 shows every single character BUT Kate. And according to the finally updated cast list, Kate is “additional cast”, even though Anthony is a series regular, despite the fact that Jonny also only filmed for two weeks and both Anthony and Kate will likely appear in a similar amount of episodes.

And this is all just from this time around, the thread I linked has stuff like this from all the way back in season 2. So you can imagine how evident it has been for a very long time.
