8. What fic meant the most to you to write?

Want for Nothing 💖 I never thought I'd write something novel-length, let alone something with a full on plot not just a vibe. That fic is also a bit of a thesis on my take on fame, privacy, and the media hellscape we live in (albeit, not as full-on 2024 as it could have been because I didn't have that in me).

I was also rather blown away by the support and ~feelings it inspired. Hearing that it resonated with people was incrediblyencouraging.

15. What was the hardest fic to title?

Found Wanting for sure... which is funny now, because the title seems completely obvious. It was hard, though, because I wasn't completely sure *why* the fic existed. I had this Jessica/Tony backstory I wanted to bring up and a few Tony POV moments to share, but it took a long time for me to get it.

19. Share your favorite piece of dialogue

This back-and-forth from These Things Happen was such a joy to write. Despite the premise of that story, it actually gave me a chance to write funny scenes between these two!

“It doesn’t have to be a big deal,” he says, and wonders at the fact that it isn’t a lie. “I love it and, like, it’s my responsibility but– but it doesn’t have to be the most important—”

“You’re adorable,” Tony says, pressing a kiss to his clavicle. “Absolutely adorable. Strip for me.”

“No, uh, really. I’m not joking,” Peter says, yanking off his shirt and making quick work of his pants. “I’m Spider—”

“I know, Pete. I told you, I’m a big fan.” Tony tries to slide to his knees, but Peter stops him with a hand on the shoulder.

“What do you mean you told me?”

Tony frowns, puzzled. “At the bar. I told you I was a fan of your work.”

“My… app development, right?”

“You develop apps?”

“Yeah, uh— yeah?”

Tony looks at him, incredulous. “I called you ‘webs’, said the Avengers could do with someone of your skills, and you thought I was talking about an app?”

“Hey,” Peter says, slightly affronted. “Webs has transformed community organization in New York City—”

“You named your app Webs?”

“We have over 400,000 five-star reviews—”

“How you’ve managed to keep a secret identity all these years is a mystery.”

17: what would your superpower be? how would you use it?

shapeshifting is the easy, obvious answer i've given to this one since i was little, but not just for the reason u might think. I loved to play technicalities with it: "i would shapeshift into a version of myself with the knowledge i wish i had" or "i would shapeshift into a version of myself with more skill in xyz". very letter of the law approach to superpowers

22: what spices do you always use when cooking?

my most consistently used spices are probably (in no particular order) cinnamon, paprika, turmeric, black pepper, cumin, coriander..... no surprises i think :p

Trick or treat!

I'm dressed in my usual clothes (all black) and cat ears (also black) and comically oversized fake claws. I am a... Krätzchen.

Mystery potion: a milky, off-white concoction in square bottle, made from deep green glass. When you pull out the stopper, it smells sweet and earthy, like elder flowers. It does something weird with the light; instead of reflections, shadows dance over the surface. No label, but on one side, there's a tiny sticker with a bell on it.

here’s a lil nate/ej i’m working on for a different prompt from another beloved mutual

“So…” Nate does his best to look up through his eyelashes. “You come here often?”

“Shut the fuck up.” EJ stirs the powdered creamer into his coffee with more force than is probably necessary. “It’s your fault we’re here.”

Their counselor makes them all mingle at the end of each session. Today, Ken seems hell-bent on inviting anyone who will make eye contact to the cafe down the street, and Nate is hell-bent on avoiding that invite. Ken’s sweet and what happened to his cat was tragic, for sure, but Nate just can’t.

“It’s not my fault. Your BFF is the one making us come here —“

“Because you can’t get over your BFF’s trade—“ EJ’s stabbing the cup with the stir stick, now. Nate’s not the one with issues, here.

“Shhh.” He puts a hand on EJ’s elbow. “Daisy,” he hisses, when EJ tries to throw his hand off.

“Fuckin’ Daisy,” EJ mutters. “She’s so nosy.” But he sighs and lets Nate keep his hand where it is. “Sorry,” he says, finally.

Oh booooooyyyyyy I have several. I'll talk about one of them for now, and if anyone wants to use this ask again, I'll talk about a different one! :D

For Dreamling Bingo, one of my squares is Fairy Tale Curse. So the basic plot of this is Dream is cursed to be a dragon until someone can learn to love him. Not quite a beauty and the beast retelling, but similar premise! I've shared a few snippets but have a totally new one:

“Then why have you come?” Dream asks, bracing himself for a fight anyways. “I have not changed my mind, little witch. You will not pass through here without killing me first.” “There are more ways to harm a dragon,” Johanna answers viciously, and it’s all the warning Dream receives before she pulls out an old tome and begins reciting what Dream quickly realizes to be a curse.

14. If you could see one of your fics adapted into a visual medium, such as comic or film, which fan fic would you pick?

Side Deck is the first thing that comes to mind. But after going through my recent works (hahaha, yeah, forgetting what I've written), I think A Striking Match would be a really fun story to be adapted into a visual medium. Mostly flirty and just a little suggestive, plus we'd get to see the food porn from their dates since I suck at describing food in writing.

23. How do you choose where to end a chapter (if you have multi-chapter works)?

Usually, I go by what feels like a narratively complete portion of the story. Hard to explain, but it's a point that "feels satisfying" or "complete episode." Of course, this often results in my chapters being 8-10k words long. Which are long... Depending on the fic, I'll either deal with it or try to see if there's a good place to try and cut it in half. Still bothers me afterward though, haha. Feels like people can tell where I "artificially" split a chapter and it affects pacing, but maybe that's all in my head?

1. Share a song that makes you think of [fic title]

Sadly only have very few songs for the dad AU. Mainly it's "The Kid I Used to Know" and "Sob Story" by Arrested Youth and "Face to Face" by Citizen Soldier. Yeah, it's pretty Skinny-centric, but lbr the whole thing is Skinny centric, so 🤷‍♂️

5. What’s a fic idea you’ve had that you will never write?

Okay, I can only do "I'll *probably* not get around to this" because I have an ADHD brain and talking about it might lead directly to me starting to write it, but there was a post going around a while ago about how Peter probably has Cotta's private number saved under 'Jeffrey' or something so it's less obvious how often he calls Cotta for help - he just sends 'Jeffrey' his location. Which lead to the plot bunny of Bob or Justus catching Peter (they're all college age at that point ofc) sexting with 'Jeffrey' and Peter being very, very relieved about the fact he still hasn't changed the contact name.

18. What’s one of your favorite lines you’ve written in a fic?

Excuse me. You of all people should be aware of the amount of words I have posted in the last five years?!

But I did reread "Necessary Tragedies" earlier because I mentioned it a few times today, and not to brag but "Konjunktive heilen keine Wunden. (Die Zeit übrigens auch nicht.)" does still fuck.

26. Is there something you’ve written that you would never want your family to see?

Well. A lot of the porn, obviously. Especially not the kinky porn where my own personal kinks are only very thinly disguised. But for a more serious answer, my brother has read "out of hell" and would also be allowed to read "suffering is just suffering" if he wanted to, but I absolutely do not want my parents to see that because idk if they're ready for that conversation.

15. What’s your favorite AU that you’ve written?

Oh no, I can't choose! D: I really, really like my YOHE AUs? The ones where Kunlun was always Kunlun and meets Shen Wei during the war somehow. Especially in a Romeo & Juliet style, opposite sides of war stories.

But I also am terribly fond of my vampire AU in which Shen Wei is a vampire lord and has been in love with a version of ZYL for 10k years...

And!! There's also my unposted Arranged Marriage AU, which is a Canon AU in which Dixing and Haixing have an uneasy, cold war-esque relation (which is obviously why Weilan have to get married to avoid war breaking out uwu).

Canon AUs are just fun with Guardian ngggggh...

45. What’s something you’ve improved on since you started writing fic?

Fight scenes, sex scenes, and grammar!

The first two I took some time to focus on in particular, the second is a side-effect of regular writing I believe 😂

Tbf I think I'm slowly getting better at raising emotional tension and stakes, too, and I'm proud of where I'm at with dialogue and pacing in general :D

i’ve got to say, temily has never really clicked for me as a ship. i could waffle a lot here but the baseline reason is that later-season prentiss is, for me, totally denatured as a character, and even the friendliness the show develops between them feels listless as a result. this is particularly striking because lewis has that very fresh new character dynamism about her, so my first thought is always about how the show is just dicking all of its earlier work on prentiss just because no one could bother to like, update the show bible or rewatch an earlier season or something. like, don’t get me wrong, i remember watching the barnes arc for the first time and being like “hey they should make out or something” during that terribly written balcony chat scene, and i am so receptive to the idea of them due to my deep lesbian fondness for two hot women getting together. but i’ve got zero meaningful compulsion to ship prentiss with lewis because of how weird that era is for prentiss characterization; for me, it just kind of drags lewis down because my first thought is always about that characterization. also as of cme i’m next-level obsessed with rebecca! and i think the next season should just be about tara and rebecca trying to smooth down rebecca’s absolutely next level dc careerist nightmare hackles, and in precisely as gratuitous a way as the weird pg relationship stuff last season, post-credits scene about them fucking good and all.

🌈is there a fic that you worked *really fucking hard on* that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with?

Honestly? in the indigo. It doesn't seem like much, but I really, really wanted to capture the feeling of that song. I'm not sure I quite got it, but I agonized over word choice and pacing, and I think I rearranged the passages a dozen times trying to get it right.

🎉how often do you celebrate completing & posting a work? how often do you give yourself the credit/validation that you seek from others when you post? (if you don't, you should!)

Posting feel more like chasing errant wildlife out of my house than anything else-very yes yes the tiger is out-so it's less celebrating and more lying spiritually in the floor because the Task is Done. (Until the demons living in my keyboard assign me a new Task and I gotta get it out.) The only celebrating, if you could call it that, I do is rubbing my little gremlin hands together at the inevitable yelling in my inbox

I'm gonna be completely honest here, I don't have any headcanons yet? Haha. Maybe it's not that deep but because I'm quite new here I'm still forming my opinions of all the stuff that is grey area etc and as a fic writer I'm still trying to get to grips with who M&S are deep down. So no headcanons yet, but I absorb other people's like a sponge and one day soon will be ready to form my own opinions hahaha

do you like or dislike surprises?

Hahaha. Mostly dislike. I'm far too anxious for surprises.
