DREAMGIRL'S LASH COLLECTION V.1-V.6 FIXED

Hello~ As many of you know, a recent patch update broke pretty much all cc eyelashes. I personally adore @dream-girl's eyelashes and because the creator has been gone since February of last year, I knew there was little chance of them being updated. I'm very very new to cc creating, but I came across a quick fix for cc eyelashes and decided to take on the project of updating these so that everyone can have them working in their game again! I will of course take this down in the event that the creator requests that I do so or if an official update is released by dreamgirl. Alt-text includes image description and the names of the sims who are modeling these gorgeous lashes!

You can find all of these in the new eyelash category. They are enabled for occult as well as both genders and opposite frames! I only tested them once on a male sim, so if there are any issues I apologize 🙏🏼

Issues of note: I am currently unable to fix V.7 of the creator's lash collection. There is a preexisting issue (pre-patch) with the mesh where the top eyelashes did not morph with the eye, and this has of course carried over. I am going to continue to attempt to fix these (they're a favorite of mine), but please understand I am very much so a newbie and I've never used Blender. I can't promise when or even an if they will be fixed, but please be patient with me. One other thing I've found is that these lashes may conflict with some custom facial sliders. For example, I use magic-bot's facial sliders and the cheekbone slider causes the bottom lashes to morph with the structure of the cheekbones, so please keep this in mind! As per usual, these lashes conflict with glasses! That's all! Thank you guys SO much for all the love and support and a big big thank you to @dream-girl!

The genetic swatches are available in two versions; original occult only (vampire eyes are only for vampires and spellcasters, alien eyes only for aliens, etc.), or for everyone! The notable exception here is that the werewolf swatches are only available for werewolves, and none of the others are available for werewolves! Download just one of the genetic swatch options for each occult, they’ll conflict otherwise.

Across the Stars

6 new swatches of the spiral galaxy pattern, 6 new swatches of the ring pattern, and one brand new supernova inspired swatch! Available for Aliens only, for everyone, and as contacts.

Dead of Night

Cat eye pupil in additional brights (there’s a lime green in the default swatches), plus some naturals, and then some more black sclera brights! (Red and icy blue are part of the defaults). Available for Vampire/Spellcaster only, for everyone, and as contacts.

Under the Sea

All the existing mermaid eye swatches in new colors to round out the palette! Available for Mermaids only, for everyone, and as contacts. The mermaids only version is not available for infant-child, as it is only available in mermaid form!

SPELLCASTER EYES!!! I will never forgive EA for not giving spellcasters their own eye set, so I’m doing it myself. 20 Swatches of two different variations of the fantastical starry-eyed gaze!

In the Moonlight

tbh I’m actually pretty happy with the existing werewolf swatches! But here is a set of 10 new brights with a cat-eye pupil, and both white sclera and black sclera options. These ones are a bit different, as they are only available for werewolves!

mini dedication essay to black simmers and ts4 creators below! pls read if you have the chance! <3

this edit is a small homage to afrofuturism and the various unique black hairstyles (and especially the black creators of most of these hairs) that i have downloaded and admired over the years! some of these are old and some of these are new.

to me, afrofuturism means constantly honoring/reclaiming/challenging the past while constantly creating/dreaming of a better society/world/future. a society/world/future that embraces and empowers all of our differences, ingenuity, aspirations, and unique lived/cultural experiences. a society/world/future that does not limit us through the various systems of marginalization and oppression (racism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, sexism, xenophobia, ableism, classism, colorism, etc.) that often affects how we, as black people, live today.

blackness is so diverse and intricate yet it's always been a struggle to find my culture within a game that's known for being so limiting, bland, and extremely eurocentric when it comes to hairstyles, clothing, food traditions/events, etc. black simmers have always had to figure out how to make this game more inclusive and make it resemble either more like how our ancestors lived, how our current lives are, or how we would want our lives (and even our children's lives) to look like in the future no matter how dystopian the real world look and feel now. fortunately, these hairs and their uniqueness bring a huge sense of culture and style to this game. they have always inspired me and made me feel extremely proud to a part of the lovely african diaspora (and the ever-growing black simmer community).

in a way, being a black simmer and cc creator usually means that we are often digitally creating our own worlds as afrofuturists to varying degrees (whether we know it or not) every time we open our game, make our sims, make houses, and/or make black cultural cc. also, now i know that cc making is not easy to do and is extremely time-consuming so this post is also just me giving all black cc creators especially those who create for free their well-deserved flowers! here are some other black cc creators who created cc that have greatly impacted my game since i first started playing sims 4: @/leeleesims1 @/simtric @/hi-land @/yuyulie @/sims4bradshaw @/ebonixsims @/xmiramira @/sheabuttyr @/qwertysims @/oplerims @/sleepingsims @/shespeakssimlish and so many more im forgetting probably (im too shy rn to tag ppl but i greatly appreciate y’all fr i hope y’all telepathically get this message somehow 😭).

Lazy day! I really tried to relax and I had so much fun drawing this one based on the awesome ‚Loathsome coworkers‘ comic – credits to @chiliger 🤩 Thank you so much for your friendly permission and I hope you like my appreciation artwork inspired by your work 🙏🏼

I laughed so hard and it absolutely made my day, when I saw the original comic and I wanted so badly celebrate the up-kricked Commander Cody and the flat lazy day Vader✨

It absolutely hit my sense of humor and also my nerve, because it‘s sooo hard for me to relax, to let go of my insecurities and trust in my wrist to draw dynamic lines speedy, easy and free handed. I absolutely need to get more confident, but if I try, I often got the same problem like Cody – I just cramp even more 😂

Edit: Here‘s my explanation / interpretation of what‘s happening on request: It’s drawing style humor 😄 On a lazy day an artist would just speed sketchy lines on the paper without big effort.

Vader is powerful enough to indulge himself in a lazy day (and so in its style), but imperial Commander Cody is too tense and his trial to relax failed miserably, so he got even more detailed drawn with more effort, shading, shaping and bling 😄

But there is also a crux in lazy looking sketches: If the lines aren’t proper on the first try it doesn’t get well or looses it’s dynamics.

So often the reduced drawing is the one from the most sure hand ✨ (and I‘m still drawing Padawan 🙈)
