As many of you certainly already know, I have overthrown the federal government and I am in desperate need of aid as a result. I will not be going into full detail, as I don't have much time left to begin with, but if you would be kind enough to spare some cash so I can go take a victory lap while wasted on as much Margaritaville as possible before the Father's light fades from my form I would appreciate it deeply. Thank you in advance may god bless you or whayever the fuck i dont know anymore

Could we get one where Reader is chaos incarnate in terms of personality? No one is sure how Donna managed to tame them but they’re more calm with her? Unfortunately, this doesn’t stop them from snarking and maybe insulting the lords if they try to flirt with them, soothing Donna’s possessiveness without realizing?
Yesss!!!! Thank you for your request!!! I hope you like it and sorry about the language mistakes!!! :))))
May the chaos be with you
Pairing: Donna Beneviento x Fem! Reader
Warnings: Fluff
Word count: 5,900
Summary: You were like chaos, but she was like calm...
N/A: Sorry about the language mistakes!!! Requests are open, I'm waiting yours!!! I love you all!!! :))

“How much, you say?” you asked with a cocky pose, blinking comically.
“Well, that's the price of the product,” the Duke said calmly. He was the greedy merchant from the village, and he was ignoring you.
“300 lei for a chocolate bar…” you whispered mockingly, walking back and forth from the entrance to the mansion. “Do you think I'm stupid?”
“I would never dare to say such a thing, Miss (Y/N),” the man said, with a sinister smile on his face.
“No? Well, you are,” you protested with a frown.
“Please, you know that I would never dare to say such a thing about someone like you,” the merchant commented, counting coins disinterestedly. “But I'm afraid that's the price.”
“I don't believe it, you damn fat bastard,” you said with a furious growl. “I wonder if that carriage of yours will burn as well as I imagine.”
“Oh, sure it will… But it would still be 300 lei, well, maybe more for the trouble,” the man answered, laughing amused at your chaotic attitude.
“Maybe more for the trouble,” you repeated in a mocking tone, imitating his voice in an unpleasant way, crossing your arms.
“Come on, don't be like that, Miss (Y/N). Besides, I'm convinced that chocolate bar is to your liking, in fact, I'm sure that the 7 you stole from me last week were to your liking,” the merchant whispered, with a dark tone, but without erasing that fake smile from his face.
“Me? Stealing? Nonsense,” you said, feigning indignation at those words.
“Yes, yes, nonsense… I'm convinced that doll I saw rummaging through the carriage had nothing to do with Miss Angie, right?”
“You can't accuse me of anything. You'd probably mistake her for another Angie,” you said, looking away, lowering the volume of your voice.
“I'm probably a bit distracted lately,” the Duke said, rolling his eyes, rubbing his hands impatiently.
“Too much sarmale?”  you joked, arching your eyebrows.
“It's never enough...”
“Well, I hope after that confusion on your part, you'll give me a discount,” you said again with arrogance, with an evil glint in your eyes.
The man laughed amused, clearly enjoying your behavior.
“Why is that?” he asked, wiping away his tears of laughter.
“Do you know who you’re talking to?” you asked, raising your chin haughtily.
“Mm… (Y/N), right?” he answered, still laughing. You nodded and turned to point at the house with your hands.
“Yes, and do you know where you are? With a snap of her fingers, Donna can make you have the worst time of your life so…” you threatened, just as the merchant stopped laughing and looked over your shoulder.
“Lady Beneviento, your presence is… comforting,” the man said, elegantly, simulating a bow.
You turned around to see the lady in black right behind you, holding the Angie doll, your favorite accomplice, in her arms.
“Donna, that fat guy accused me of being a thief, tell him something,” you said, pulling the black fabric of her dress. She looked at you through her black veil, and then at the merchant, who put his hands up in surrender.
“Oh no, please, we were just arguing about an incident I had last week. Nothing to do with your… Well, with (Y/N). Of course I wasn't accusing your puppet of being part of that lack of stock in my carriage.”
“You see? Come on, torture him,” you said, pulling the black fabric again, hearing a slight laugh from the lady in mourning, who took your hand to calm you down.
“Calm down, tesoro… Go inside, I'll take care of this,” she whispered to you in a hoarse, soft voice, too low for the merchant to hear, although from his expression, you could tell he did.
With a haughty gesture, you turned around and obeyed the lady's command, as you always did, as you always wanted to do, entering the house with an arrogant step.
“Let's see who's laughing now,” you said amused, rubbing your hands as you dropped into the rocking chair, closely followed by the Angie doll, who climbed onto your lap.
“(Y/N), (Y/N),” the puppet said, excited as always when you were together. “The fat guy snitched. How could he have noticed?”
“I don't know, I guess we have to plan better next time,” you whispered discouraged. Normally your pranks went unnoticed, or so you thought.
“Mm, I got it,” the doll said, getting closer to your ear. “We could wait for him to fall asleep and...”
“Pepper on the sheets,” you interrupted, with that same sinister look.
“No, although it's also a good idea,” the doll said, confused. “I had thought we could use the solvent that Donna has in the workshop to light a bonfire.”
“Hey, that's even better,” you said, stopping swinging, but undoing your smile instantly. “But we can't.”
“Why?” Angie asked.
“Donna would be angry,” you said with a sigh, looking at the half-open door, playing with a ball of yarn that was on the table.
“Donna is boring,” the doll protested, crossing her arms. “You have to stop paying attention to her or you'll become a boring, stupid girl.”
“But I love her,” you said frowning.
“Bah, nonsense, if you want a faithful ally, here I am,” Angie said, pointing to herself in a funny way.
“I'd love to take you up on your offer, but I don't think so,” you said with a smile, shaking your head and throwing the ball of yarn to the doll, who protested by moving her limbs erratically.
“Mm, it's a good opportunity to create chaos... But if you prefer boring Donna...” she said ironically, making you laugh.
“You don't do to me the things she does,” you said with a mischievous whisper, making the doll cover her face in embarrassment.
“No! Don't tell me! I don't want to know!” Angie shrieked, pretending to cover her ears. “Disgusting...”
You laughed mockingly, jokingly fighting with Angie, when the lady in black entered, closing the door behind her and removing the black fabric from her face.
“Oh, did you make him suffer?” you asked, pulling her wrist closer to the rocking chair. She smiled and shook her head, showing you your long-awaited chocolate bar and handing it to you. “Thank you, thank you…” you said, amused and triumphant.
Her smile remained on her face, but her gaze searched for the puppet, which quickly hid under the table.
“Angie, (Y/N), have you stolen from the Duke? Again?” she asked in a soft voice, with her hands on her hips. Her gaze didn’t express the slightest sign of severity.
“No,” you answered at the same time, making your lie more evident.
“It’s not my fault that the fat man is clumsy and leaves his carriage parked anywhere,” you said, excusing yourself, crossing your arms.
Donna laughed softly, leaning down to caress your cheek.
“Tesoro … What did we say about stealing?” she asked, staring at you, making you lose yourself in her beauty.
“Stealing is wrong,” you grumbled, looking away. She nodded slowly. “Okay… I promise you that next time he won't find out…”
She shook her head again, with an amused smile, getting a little closer to capture your lips in a soft, tender and slow kiss.
“Oh, no, here they are again…” Angie protested, fleeing the hall hastily.
The two of you looked at the doll and then back at each other. Donna sighed, helping you up and gently grabbing your waist.
“You're such a naughty girl, you know that?” she whispered seductively in your ear, making you shrink, your body trembling.
“Is that why you love me that much?” you asked, with that same playful tone. Donna nodded, kissing you on the cheek, pulling your body closer to hers with a gentle tug, running your hands around her neck.
“Who knows…”
It was just another day, another day in your life, a new life that came by chance in the midst of your mischief and pranks.
Since you were little, you were chaos made person. Pranks, jokes, a shameless vocabulary… You were a tough nut to crack for your family, and for most of the villagers. Normally, people born in that place became empty vessels, submissive, accommodating and polite people.
You didn't know what could have gone wrong with you, because you were the opposite.
Extroverted, daring, a joker… No adjective that could be used to describe you was accurate enough. Maybe you were a goddess, a powerful one, a goddess of chaos. Without fear of authority, of the consequences of your actions, you grew up being the terror of the villagers, of your neighbors.
You couldn't go a day without planning some mischief or responding inappropriately to anyone who dared to tell you that you couldn't speak in church.
Together with your small group of friends, you lived a thousand and one adventures always guided by your lack of judgment and fear of the unknown. Maybe it was your lack of logical reasoning that led you that day to enter where not even your friends wanted to do so, into the lands of the dangerous Lord, Donna Beneviento.
The fear the villagers of that place had made you want to enter that dark forest more and more. After all, you had already raided the factory, the castle and the dam. A sinister forest with porcelain dolls was not going to stop you from sowing chaos once again.
But your actions for once had consequences, suddenly running into the owner of those lands, the lady in black, who was known to be the personification of fear itself. At first you played your good girl card, trying to make Donna believe that you were nothing but a poor lost villager.
You soon discovered that you couldn’t fool her so easily. She didn’t know you, you doubted she had ever seen you in the church, but even so, she seemed to know more about you than you did yourself. Somehow, your desire to be rude and sarcastic disappeared with the breeze that carried her sweet lavender perfume.
She was quiet, calm, sick according to the villagers, dangerous and very, perhaps too intelligent.
Her solitary life in that place marked as forbidden caught your attention making your desire to do evil things disappear when her black clothes were in front of you. You couldn’t explain why but, with her you felt… Comfortable.
Little by little, those little encounters forced by your lack of judgment became a routine, in absurd but profound conversations, in visits beyond the wooden bridge, beyond that waterfall. You, who believed that love was nonsense, a method of life to reduce your desire for chaos, suddenly found yourself crazy for the lady in black, addicted to her serenity, her voice, her gaze.
Everything that happened around you seemed to bathe you in a calm atmosphere and that served so you, the goddess of chaos in the village, began to enjoy boring things like silence, like a caress, like some quiet kisses with the sound of the waterfall as your only companion.
After you loved each other and declared that you could not live without each other, your life improved, leaving your cabin, the village, to live in the mansion next to her, to feel that feeling of peace and tranquility every time.
You were still you, Donna was still Donna. Opposites attracted, or so they said. You were crazy about her, she was crazy about you. Silence and noise, tranquility and chaos, had fallen in love.
With her, nothing was as funny anymore. Playing pranks had become a risky sport. You didn't want to disappoint her, with her you behaved... Well, more or less well. Maybe if the Angie doll hadn't been there, you would have managed to reform yourself completely.
After the storm, the calm came, one of those moments when your thoughts went blank, when the ideas of fire and destruction stopped harassing your mind. Just a few soft caresses on your hair, your head on her lap while she read a boring book, her relaxing, comforting humming... You didn't know at what point you had started to prefer being like this to planning another of your evil plans.
“Is it fun?” you asked, lying on your back, distracting the lady from her reading and her melodic, calm humming. She looked down, intensifying the caresses on your hair, forcing you to close your eyes at the calm produced by her fingers tangling in your locks.
“No, not at all,” she said, amused, bending down to kiss you in the same calm way, settling down on the couch.
“Why are you reading it then?” you asked curiously with a frown. Donna sighed, with that same serene expression.
“You know what? You're right,” she said, closing the book and letting it fall on the table.
You smiled triumphantly, rubbing yourself affectionately against her lap.
“I prefer to look at how beautiful you are,” she whispered, playing with one of your hands, causing your skin to burn under her touch.
You tried to avoid it, you certainly tried, but you couldn't stop the blush from bathing your cheeks at such a compliment. Could it be that your chaotic attitude was due to the lack of affection in your life? Maybe, maybe that's why you felt better by her side.
“But that's boring too,” you said in a childish tone. Donna looked at you curiously, tilting her head.
“You think so? I don’t think so,” she whispered, amused. “Are you bored, tesoro?”
“A bit,” you sighed, trying not to be offensive, not to show the slightest rejection of her caresses.
“Well, what do you propose?” she asked curiously as you sat up, yawning indiscreetly.
“Well…” you whispered, rubbing your eyes, under her ever-attentive gaze. “I still haven’t thanked you for that chocolate bar…”
With that lustful hiss, you threw yourself into her kisses, climbing up her body, letting her hands embrace your back as your lips devoured each other.
“You’re tireless, aren’t you?” Donna said, amused by your erratic kisses, by your shameless caresses. “Haven’t you had enough this morning?”
“It's obvious I haven’t,” you said amused, moving down to her neck slowly, channeling that desire for action into a feeling of excitement and desire to love. You didn't want to admit it, but that was much better than any mischief.
Donna laughed nervously, bringing your body as close to hers as she could while your hips began to dance uncontrollably. Suddenly, she pulled away from your kisses, frowning.
“Did you hear that?” she asked, stopping her movements and looking over your shoulder. You shook your head, cupping her face in your hands and returning to those kisses you needed that much.
“I haven't heard anything,” you said a bit frustrated by her lack of attention to your actions, not giving her a moment to breathe. Donna, knowing that when you wanted something, you got it, gave in to your caresses, resuming the dance of your hips, for a short time.
“Hey! Get away, separate, let the air flow, you disgusting sticky fools!”  Angie shrieked, suddenly entering the living room, pretending to cover her eyes.
“Angie, get out of here,” you said, smiling sinisterly at Donna, who seemed to not give importance to her doll.
“Hey! Listen to me you two!” she shrieked, climbing onto the couch and pulling at your dress, making you growl furiously.
“Angie, go away,” Donna ordered her, supporting her words with a gesture of her hand. The doll, irreverent as always, grabbed that hand and pulled it.
“Will you, just, listen, to me? Miranda has called,” the doll protested, now yes, attracting the immediate attention of its owner, who stopped the kisses, remaining almost paralyzed.
“Miranda?” the lady in black asked, catching her breath and looking at you to get off her lap. You, reluctantly, complied with her silent order, falling beside her with your arms crossed.
“Oh, you're finally listening to me, huh?” Angie mocked, looking at you as if she knew what she had just interrupted. Of course she did.
“Say what she wants and get out, we're busy,” you said, with a harsh tone towards your usual accomplice.
“Like you always are…” the doll answered, jumping onto her owner's now empty lap. “There's a meeting, a meeting, Donna.”
The brunette sighed, closing her eye. Unfortunately, she wasn't there just for you. Her duties with that sinister cult in the village were always there to make you want to get up to mischief again.
“When?” Donna asked, putting on her dress, already knowing what the answer would be.
“Now, silly Donna, are we going?” the doll teased, tugging Donna's arm again to get her up from the couch “If the blood gets to your head, of course…”
“Oh, shut up, I'm coming now,” the lady said annoyed slowly turning her head towards yours. “I'm sorry, amore mio, but…”
“Yes, yes, you're leaving,” you said, with a haughty stance, looking away. Despite your noticeable improvement, you still had trouble accepting that you wouldn't have what you wanted.
“I promise when I come back…” she told you, kneeling on the floor and leaning on your knees, with a sad look, knowing what that meant to you.
“Yes, okay, I know… You're leaving me alone again,” you protested, unpleasantly removing her hands from your body, making her sigh.
“It's harder for me than for you, believe me,” Donna said, slowly getting up, with a glint in her eye that caught your attention.
“What do you mean?” you asked curiously, frowning.
“I don't like leaving you alone, tesoro,” she murmured in a low, broken voice, as if she were hiding something. You weren't stupid, you realized right away.
“Oh, you don't trust me not to do anything naughty, do you?” you hissed in a serious tone, with real annoyance.
“No, honey, it's not that,” she said hastily, lifting your chin so that your gaze met hers.
“Then, what is it?” you asked abruptly, sitting firmly on the couch. Donna opened her mouth to answer, but seemed to regret it.
“It's not important. Just wait for me, okay? I won't be long,” she said in a soft voice, with a smile that didn't seem at all sincere. After a quick goodbye kiss, she walked away from you.
Your head was spinning from that strange behavior and a huge amount of bad thoughts invaded your chaotic mind. Maybe Donna was hiding something from you. Well, you only had one idea to find out.
“Hey, wait, Donna,” you said, standing up, putting a hand on her shoulder. “I have an idea, why don't you take me with you?”
“Do you want...? Do you want to come with me?” she asked confused, scratching the back of her neck, doubtful. That gesture didn't please your disturbed mind.
“Yeah, it could be fun. Besides, I haven't met your siblings yet,” you said, showing a wide smile. That idea sounded better and better in your head.
“Oh, of course, I… I don't think it's a good idea…” she murmured, moving away from your amused posture, shaking her head.
“Why not?” you asked offended, changing amusement into chaotic rage.
“Because… Well, those meetings are…”
“I know that Dimitrescu sometimes brings her maids, why can't I go?” you protested, stamping your feet in a childish way. “Are you ashamed of me?”
“Of course I’m not,” Donna answered, with a serious look, trying to calm you down with her caresses, ones that you rejected.
“It seems like you are,” you whispered, cowardly fleeing from her comforting touch. “Of course you are, you are ashamed of me, you are afraid that I will do something evil or stupid, right?”
“No, tesoro, it is not that,” she said, with a serious tone, with a cold look, trying to be as sincere as possible.
“Say whatever you want, I know. I don't know why you are ashamed, I’m not the one who is sick in the head,” you hissed without thinking.
Donna stepped back, as if your words had pierced her fragile heart. It was to be expected. Both her appearance and her mental problems were the only things that prevented her from calming you down on some occasions. She felt self-conscious about it.
“(Y/N)…” she sighed in a sad voice, scared by that way of addressing her.
You shook your head, closing your eyes and taking a breath, regretful.
“I didn't mean that, I'm sorry,” you apologized in a low voice, taking her hand, which was already beginning to tremble. “Forgive me... I didn't mean to talk to you that way.”
She nodded, relaxing that sad expression and changing it into an understanding smile, caressing your cheek.
“It's okay, I know, amore mio...” she sighed, kissing you quickly so you both could calm down.
“Hey, well, it doesn't seem like a bad idea to me,” Angie intervened, tugging on the dress of the lady in black, who looked at her curiously. “Come on, Donna, it could be fun.”
“See? Angie agrees,” you said, joking, forgetting that awkward moment. Donna laughed, shaking her head.
“Angie always agrees with you,” she murmured amused, playing with your hand. She seemed to be really thinking about it, which sent a wave of excitement to your face.
“We're good friends, right?” you asked the doll, who high-fived you.
“Please, Donna…. Let her come,” the puppet begged, comically clasping her hands together, joining your pouting face, imitating your gesture.
“Come on… Please…” you repeated with that same childish, pleading tone.
“Oh, okay, fine, come with me but…” Donna said, defeated, crossing her arms.
“Yes, yes”
“Yes, what?” she asked distrustfully.
“I'll behave…”
The walk to the meeting was, well, you couldn't say it was smooth. Both you and Angie talked nonstop about how excited you were to be able to go to a meeting of Lords.
You could certainly understand Donna's fear in taking you, but your keen intuition told you that maybe it wasn't for the reasons you thought. What was it that scared the lady in black that much? You figured you'd eventually find out.
“Okay, I'll go to find a chair for you,” Donna said, covered in that horrible black veil, searching the corners of the cathedral for a place for you to sit. There was still no one else.
You nodded, looking around at that sinister place.
“Is this the place?” you asked Angie, who didn't seem to want to leave your side. Had Donna ordered her to?
“Yes,” the doll replied. “It’s cool, huh?”
“Yes, it has many possibilities…” you said, pretending a thoughtful, intellectual look, finding in every corner of that place, a possible prank.
“Isn't it? I always think that when these fools start talking about boring things. Look at those chandeliers…” Angie commented, pointing towards the altar.
“Oh, yes, it would be a shame if someone loosened those screws,” you murmured amused, shaking your head instantly. “No, no, I promised Donna I would behave.”
“But Donna isn't here…” the puppet tempted you, giving you a few soft nudges on the leg.
“Donna is here,” the lady in black said, approaching with a chair, placing it next to what seemed to be hers. “Angie, leave (Y/N) alone.”
“You boring spaghetti thing,” the doll said, crossing her arms and climbing onto your body, gracefully climbing up your back. “I told you, if you keep listening to her you'll be as boring as her.”
“Angie…” the lady complained, extending a hand towards you, which you took with a shrug. “Come, tesoro, sit here.”
You obeyed, letting yourself fall into the uncomfortable wooden chair. Donna, checking that everything was okay, sat on hers, taking your hand.
“Are you okay?” she asked quietly, just as some erratic steps approached you.
“Yeah, sure,” you said with a sincere smile, nodding calmly. “Oh, it seems someone took the bait…”you commented when you saw the horrible monster of the dam enter. Village Lord, Moreau
“Donna, Donna,” he said with a goofy voice, smiling as he approached you. “You look beautiful today…”
“Thanks, you ugly little monster,” Angie said, answering for her owner, in part.
“And you, who are you?” the creature asked, pointing at you with a slimy finger.
“(Y/N), Sal. She’s Donna's girlfriend,” Angie answered, displaying you as if you were an object, to which you frowned.
“Oh, of course, you're beautiful too,” the monster said, bowing at which you had to hold back your laughter.
“I wish I could say the same,” you said with a grimace of displeasure, receiving a nudge from the brunette. “I mean, nice to meet you, I guess…”
“You remind me of a little human who snuck into my swamp two years ago,” Moreau murmured, approaching you unpleasantly. You arched your eyebrows, slightly suppressing the evil smile that formed on your face.
“Really?” you asked, biting your tongue. The monster nodded.
“Yes, yes, I was locked in my room for days because that little mouse took my keys... If I find her...” the Lord explained, causing you more difficulties to contain your laughter.
“That's because you're very clumsy, Sal, (Y/N) is good. She has nothing to do with it,” Angie said in your defense. Of course, she knew you had been the culprit of that incident. It was one of the things that the mischievous puppet admired you for.
“It's true, my apologies, young lady,” the fish man said kindly, walking away with a farewell gesture towards his sister.
“It seems he likes me,” you commented to the lady in black, who shook her head and a soft veiled laugh.
“You are incorrigible, amore mio,” she whispered back, kissing you on the cheek through her veil.
“Well, well, well!” A mocking male voice reached your ears, making you turn your head. Another of the Lords, Karl Heisenberg, had just entered, looking at you over his glasses, walking towards you. “Donna's special friend…”
“Girlfriend, you moron,” Angie protested, earning a gentle reprimand from her owner, who seemed very attentive to the metal man.
“Yeah, yeah…” he sighed, leaning on your chair, watching you amused. “Hey, do we know each other?”
“I don't think so,” you said, in a brusque tone.
“No? Because you… Oh yeah, you're that little thief who snuck into my factory with some friends to steal my beers, right?” he accused you, pointing at you with his finger.
“I don't know what you're talking about,” you said, looking at your nails with disinterest.
“Of course, I would recognize that good girl face from miles away…” the man commented, with a mocking tone. You, oblivious to the danger, shrugged your shoulders, sighing. “Come on, what do you have to say in your defense?”
“That beer tasted like Lycan piss. It wasn't worth it,” you said amused, with a sly smile.
Karl laughed loudly, shaking his head.
“Excuse me, your majesty. Maybe next time you'd like me to put them in the fridge,” Heisenberg said ironically, with a dark look, playing with a cigar between his teeth. You smiled innocently, nodding.
“It would be nice, yes,” you joked, with a cocky pose, leaning your back on the chair.
He laughed even louder, approaching the lady in black and giving a strong slap on her back, which destabilized her comically.
“Oh, Donna, your friend is so bold, isn't she?” he sighed beside her. She did nothing, she just looked away, you guessed at you. “Rude and fighter... Just the way I like them.”
You turned around abruptly at this unexpected compliment.
“I guess I'll behave better then,” you said through clenched teeth, furious at this shameless hint.
Karl laughed again, approaching you in a casual manner.
“Come on, come on, don't be like that, cutie,” he said to you in a tone that turned your stomach.
“Call me cutie again,” you threatened with a sinister smile, making the Lord look at you carefully, but without losing the mockery in his eyes.
“You don't like it? I figured as much,” he said, slurring his words.
“Stay away from her, Karl,” Donna said, surprisingly speaking for herself, clenching her fists tightly.
“Look at that, your girlfriend's become jealous... That's because she knows there's something going on between you and me, don't you think?” he said, amused. You smiled again, narrowing your eyes. “It must be very boring to be surrounded by disturbing dolls all day long...”
“I like it,” you said, crossing your arms again.
“I'm sure you'd have a better time in my factory,” he whispered, pretending Donna couldn't hear him. You knew she could, as her whole body tensed again.
“I'd rather have a stick shoved up my ass and be set on fire than spend a single minute in your disgusting factory, Karl,” you said, amused, with all the arrogance your lack of sense of danger allowed you.
“Oh, what a nasty girl,” he joked, leaning on his hammer. “Donna, is she like that in bed too?”
“I'm sure you'd love to check it out,” you said, answering for your girlfriend, who was being calmed by Angie's soft words.
“Of course,” Karl murmured, arching his eyebrows.
“Try it in the next life, asshole,” you hissed, with a serious face, maintaining your cocky tone and posture. He stepped back, surprised by your impudence. “Do you mind getting out of the way? I'd like to see something different than your shitty face.”
With a nasty laugh, the Lord walked away from you, much to your relief.
“(Y/N)…” Donna sighed, her voice calmer, grabbing your hand tightly. “Be careful.”
“Why?” you asked, confused.
“Donna, how nice to see you with company,” a dark, seductive voice interrupted that moment. The lady of the castle, Alcina Dimitrescu, stood before you with an elegant posture.
The lady in black nodded kindly, as a greeting. You frowned when the tall woman did the same when she saw you.
“You…” she whispered thoughtfully. You smiled, with that good girl face again. “I know you…”
“Everyone knows me,” you said smiling, blinking mockingly.
“I see. You are that little bird that snuck into my castle and stole a bottle of my best harvest, right? Oh, don't answer, of course it's you, I would recognize that body anywhere.”
“(Y/N)…” Donna sighed, shaking her head and leaning back in her chair.
“Wine? I don’t know,” you said, shaking your head, keeping the vampire’s gaze , who made a small grimace of disgust. “By the way, I was wondering if next time it could be the blood of a blonde maiden, I wonder if it would change the taste…”
A disturbing smile formed on the face of the lady in white, separating herself slightly from you, taking a drag on her cigarette.
“You cheeky little bird…” she murmured, shaking your head. You, unfazed by her overwhelming presence, pretended to be a saint again. “If you wanted wine, my dear, you could have tried asking me in person.”
“In person?” you asked, feigning confusion. The tall lady nodded.
“Yes, I'm sure we could have a most interesting conversation... As long as your dear Donna allows it, what do you say, cara mia?” she asked, looking directly at the brunette, who shook her head erratically.
“I can think for myself,” you protested, attracting her attention again, causing Alcina to bend down and blow the smoke from her tobacco in your face, making you cough.
“It seems so… Well? Do you want to talk in my castle? I'm sure a girl like you has many stories to tell.”
“Mm,” you murmured, nodding sarcastically. “You know what? I don't think I would be up to it,” you said jokingly, with a sardonic look.
“You little brat...” the lady growled, completely taking notice of you game of words.
“Little, maybe, compared to you, of course,” you continued joking, stopped by Donna's hand, which squeezed yours tightly to shut you up.
After those little awkward encounters, at last, the priestess, Mother Miranda, arrived. You, tired of being there, didn't pay attention to the most important winged figure in the village. You could have joked, but you didn't want to. Donna's siblings were one thing, Miranda was worse, she was too important to your girlfriend, you couldn't let her down with that. Or that was your intention.
“Well, you can go,” the blonde finally said, causing the Lords to leave the room, but not before giving you a burning look, full of resentment. You, amused, blinked comically again, waving goodbye mockingly.
The priestess sighed, suddenly looking at you and walking towards you. Oh, another stupid moron delaying your return home…
“Donna, is everything okay?” the blonde asked, removing the golden mask covering her face. The lady in black nodded, and so did Miranda, turning her head towards you. “What do we have here? Are you the famous (Y/N)?”
You raised your eyebrows and sighed listlessly.
“What? Do you want to take me to bed too?” you asked without thinking, causing you to receive a strong elbow from the lady in black.
Miranda looked at you with wide eyes and a surprised expression. She didn't say anything, just that expression of astonishment slowly changed to a smile that spread more and more across her face until it turned into a soft laugh, as she walked away from you, running a hand over your shoulder.
“Take care of her, Donna. I like her,” the priestess said, before disappearing down the hall.
When you were alone, Donna stood up in a huff, pacing back and forth in front of your chair.
“Maledizione, (Y/N), have you dedicated your life to infuriating everyone?” she asked nervously, resting her hands on the arms of the chair.
You shrugged, amused.
“A joke is a joke. I don't care if it's a Lord or a normal villager. I don't discriminate,” you joked, making Donna snort and move away from the chair, shaking her head.
“You're going to drive me crazy,” the lady whispered, removing the veil from her face, revealing her worried look.
“I thought you were already crazy… I mean, crazy about me,” you said slowly, thinking your words carefully and grabbing her waist, earning a condescending smile.
Something in her gaze suddenly changed and, after looking at your lips, she threw herself at them, devouring you with kisses in an unexpected way, caressing your body, sitting you on the chair and climbing onto your lap.
“Hey, hey, Donna, what's wrong?” you asked, stopping the brunette's passionate attack. She shook her head, caressing your cheek while, with a gesture of her other hand, she left Angie inert on the floor.
“I think you deserve a reward,” she whispered in your ear, playing with the buttons of your dress. You frowned and looked at her confused.
“Why? For getting on your nerves?” you asked amused by her unbridled attitude.
Donna relaxed and her expression did the same, avoiding looking at your face.
“No, I... I didn't want you to come because, because I know my siblings and... Well, you're beautiful and I... I was afraid of...”
“Of losing me,” you finished her sentence with a sigh, far from the chaos of your mind.
She nodded with a lost look, with a tear running down her cheek.
“Hey, Donna…” you whispered tenderly, looking up at her. “You're the only one who makes me look like a normal person. I would never give up on the only woman in the world who can make me enjoy calm…”

the mellow music drifts through the open door, a soft invitation into the dimly lit room. kai steps inside, his eyes scanning the crowd, seeking you out. when he finally spots you, his heart skips a beat. you wave at him with a smile that could light up the darkest night, and he waves back, though his eyes linger on you, captivated by the way you move with your date. not him. not him and his heart being hopelessly in love with you.
how did he end up here, watching from the sidelines?
Tumblr media
it was a sunny day in early spring when you first walked into the small bakeshop tucked away in a quiet corner of town. the scent of freshly baked bread and pastries wafted through the air, a comforting aroma that drew you in. you were a regular, often stopping by for a quick snack or a coffee on your way home from school.
as you approached the counter, you noticed a new face behind it. a boy with a friendly smile and dark, curly hair. he wore an apron that read “huening’s bakeshop” and seemed to be struggling to tie it properly. you couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight.
“need some help with that?” you asked, stepping up to the counter.
kai looked up, startled, and then laughed. “yeah, it’s my first day here. my dad’s making me learn the ropes. i’m kai, by the way.”
“nice to meet you, kai. i’m y/n. and don’t worry, i’m a pro at tying aprons,” you said, reaching over to help him.
as you tied the apron, you felt a strange sense of familiarity, as if you had known him for years. kai’s eyes sparkled with gratitude. “thanks, y/n. what can i get for you today?”
“i’ll have my usual—a cinnamon roll and a strawberry latte,” you replied with a smile.
kai nodded, jotting down your order. “coming right up. so, you come here often?”
“yeah, i’m a regular. best cinnamon rolls in town,” you said, glancing around the cozy shop.
kai grinned. “i’ll take that as a compliment. my dad’s been perfecting the recipe for years.”
as you sat down to enjoy your snack, you watched kai bustle around behind the counter, his movements becoming more confident with each task. you couldn’t help but notice how charming he was, and before you knew it, you had spent almost five hours in the bakeshop, nursing the same cinnamon roll and latte.
the next day, you found yourself back at the bakeshop, and the day after that, too. it wasn’t just the pastries that kept you coming back—it was kai. there was something about him that drew you in, a magnetism that you couldn’t resist.
spring break passed in a blur of lazy mornings and warm afternoons. you and kai quickly fell into a routine, spending almost every day together. on days when he ditched his shift at the bakeshop, you’d explore the town, discovering new places and sharing laughter and secrets.
one afternoon, you convinced kai to visit the newly opened arcade house just a few blocks from your house. as you entered the vibrant, neon-lit space, you felt a rush of excitement. the sounds of clinking coins and cheerful game music filled the air.
“ready to lose?” you teased, nudging kai with your elbow.
he laughed, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “you wish. i’m pretty good at these games.”
the two of you spent hours competing at various arcade games, from air hockey to racing simulators. each victory was met with playful banter, and each loss with exaggerated groans of defeat. by the end of the day, you were both carrying armfuls of tickets, grinning from ear to ear.
“let’s get something from the prize counter,” kai suggested, his eyes scanning the array of toys and trinkets.
you nodded, pointing to a stuffed bear that caught your eye. “how about that one?”
kai exchanged the tickets for the bear and handed it to you with a shy smile. “for you.”
you felt a flutter in your chest as you took the bear. “thanks, kai. this was fun.”
“yeah, it was,” he agreed, his gaze lingering on you for a moment longer than usual.
another day, kai invited you to his house, promising to make an entire cinnamon roll bread just for you. as you entered the cozy kitchen, you felt a sense of warmth and belonging. kai’s family welcomed you with open arms, and soon you were elbow-deep in flour and dough, laughing and chatting as you baked together.
“are you sure you know what you’re doing?” you teased, watching kai fumble with the dough.
he grinned, a smear of flour on his cheek. “of course! i’m a master baker.”
you rolled your eyes playfully. “we’ll see about that.”
the two of you worked together, kneading the dough and rolling it out. kai’s hands brushed against yours occasionally, sending sparks of electricity through your skin. you tried to focus on the task at hand, but it was impossible to ignore the growing connection between you.
as the cinnamon roll bread baked, filling the kitchen with its sweet aroma, kai turned to you with a soft smile. “thanks for spending spring break with me, y/n. it’s been... really great.”
you felt your cheeks warm at his words. “i’ve had a lot of fun, too, kai. more than i expected.”
he took a step closer, his gaze intense. “i’m glad. because…”
your heart skipped a beat. “kai...”
before you could say more, the timer dinged, signaling that the cinnamon roll bread was ready. kai quickly turned to the oven, his cheeks flushed. he pulled out the golden-brown loaf, setting it on the counter to cool.
“let’s eat,” he said, his voice a bit shaky.
as things continued to unfold like a dream, each day brings you and kai closer. there was a particular afternoon that stood out, one that made your heart race with an intensity you hadn't felt before. you and kai had decided to have a picnic at a nearby park, the sun casting a warm, golden glow over everything.
as you sat on the checkered blanket, enjoying the snacks you’d brought, a gentle breeze picked up, blowing a few strands of your hair across your face. kai reached out, his fingers brushing your cheek as he tucked the stray hairs behind your ear. the touch was electric, sending a shiver down your spine.
“there,” he said softly, his eyes meeting yours.
you felt your cheeks heat up, and for a moment, you both just stared at each other, the world around you fading away. kai leaned in slightly, and you felt your breath hitch, your heart pounding in your chest. but just as his lips were about to touch yours, he pulled back, a deep blush spreading across his cheeks.
“sorry,” he mumbled, looking away.
you shook your head, your voice barely above a whisper. “don’t be.”
the moment passed, but the tension between you remained. neither of you had the courage to talk about it, to define what was happening between you. instead, you continued to spend your days together, a mix of unspoken words and lingering touches.
every night, as you lay in your bed, you replayed the moments of the day in your mind. you knew this wasn’t just a friendship, and you were certain kai felt the same way. it was a comforting thought, even as it filled you with a longing you couldn’t quite name.
as the end of spring break approached, you both knew that things would change once school started again. you wondered if the magic of your time together would fade in the harsh light of reality. kai seemed to share your concerns, his usual cheerfulness tinged with a quiet uncertainty.
“so, back to school tomorrow,” you said one evening as you walked together by the beach.
kai nodded, his hands shoved deep into his pockets. “yeah. it’s going to be different.”
“do you think... things will change between us?” you asked hesitantly.
he stopped walking and turned to face you, his expression serious. “i don’t want them to. do you?”
you shook your head. “no, i don’t.”
he smiled, a small, hopeful smile that made your heart ache. “then let’s not let it. let’s keep this, whatever it is.”
“okay,” you agreed, feeling a sense of relief.
the first day back at school was a whirlwind of classes and catching up with friends. you tried to keep your promise to kai, to hold onto the special connection you’d built over the break. but then taehyun threw everything into chaos.
it was during lunch when taehyun approached you, his usual entourage nowhere in sight. he looked uncharacteristically nervous, fidgeting with the hem of his shirt.
“y/n, can we talk?” he asked, his voice unusually soft.
“sure,” you replied, curiosity piqued.
he led you to a quieter corner of the schoolyard, taking a deep breath before speaking. “i’ve been wanting to tell you this for a while now. i like you, y/n. a lot.”
you stared at him, stunned. taehyun, your rival, was confessing to you? it didn’t make sense. “taehyun, i...”
“i know this is sudden,” he continued, “and maybe you don’t feel the same way, but i had to tell you. i couldn’t keep it to myself anymore.”
you bit your lip, your mind racing. you thought of kai, of the delicate bond you were trying to nurture. telling him about this would only complicate things. “taehyun, i appreciate you telling me, but i need some time to think.”
he nodded, a flicker of disappointment in his eyes. “i understand. take all the time you need.”
you kept taehyun’s confession to yourself, unsure of how to tell kai. you didn’t want to hurt him or jeopardize what you had. but the secret weighed heavily on you, creating a rift between you and kai that neither of you acknowledged.
“everything okay?” kai asked one afternoon as you walked home together.
you forced a smile. “yeah, just a lot on my mind with school and all.”
he gave you a concerned look but didn’t press further. “if you ever need to talk, you know i’m here, right?”
“i know,” you said, feeling a pang of guilt.
the days passed in a blur of schoolwork and stolen moments with kai. you couldn’t help but notice the way taehyun watched you, his gaze filled with unspoken words. it only added to your confusion and the growing tension between you and kai.
one evening, kai invited you to the bakeshop after hours. the place was empty, save for the two of you. he had a tray of freshly baked cinnamon rolls waiting, the familiar scent filling the air.
“thought we could have a little spring break reunion,” he said with a smile, handing you a warm roll.
you took it, smiling back. “thanks, kai. this is perfect.”
as you ate, the conversation flowed easily, just like it had during spring break. but there was an underlying tension, an unspoken question hanging in the air.
“y/n,” kai said suddenly, his voice serious, “is there something you’re not telling me?”
you looked down at your hands, the guilt bubbling to the surface. “kai, i...”
before you could continue, the door to the bakeshop swung open, and taehyun walked in. he looked between you and kai, his expression unreadable.
“sorry to interrupt,” he said, his tone tense. “but i needed to talk to y/n.”
Tumblr media
the end of the school year was approaching, and with it, prom night. the excitement was palpable throughout the school, with everyone buzzing about dresses, tuxedos, and the magical evening to come. you had been quietly hoping that kai would ask you to be his date, your heart fluttering every time you saw him.
each night, you would find yourself praying for kai to make a move, to finally ask you to the spring dance. you imagined how perfect it would be, to finally have your feelings for him out in the open, to dance with him under the twinkling lights and let everything else fall away.
meanwhile, kai was struggling with his own set of emotions. he had been trying to muster the courage to ask you to prom, but each time he attempted to broach the subject, you would deftly change the topic. it wasn’t that you weren’t interested—it was just that you were terrified of revealing how you really felt. your feelings for kai were so intense and confusing that you didn’t know how to express them without risking rejection or ruining the friendship you had.
one afternoon, kai was sitting at his usual spot in the school courtyard, his gaze distant as he stared at the ground. his friends, beomgyu and kai, were chatting animatedly about their plans for prom.
“so, have you asked anyone to the dance yet?” beomgyu asked kai, nudging him playfully.
kai shook his head, his nerves on edge. “not yet. still trying to figure out the right moment.”
“come on, man. just go for it. you’ve been thinking about it for weeks,” beomgyu urged.
kai sighed, looking down at his hands. “it’s not that simple. every time i try to talk about it with y/n, she changes the subject. i don’t know if she’s interested or if she’s just avoiding the topic.”
beomgyu looked at kai with a knowing smile. “sounds like you’re overthinking it. maybe she’s waiting for you to make the first move.”
kai frowned. “but what if she’s not interested? i don’t want to make things awkward between us.”
“you won’t know until you try,” beomgyu said encouragingly. “and if you don’t ask her, you’ll never find out.”
kai nodded slowly, still unsure. the fear of rejection gnawed at him, and the last thing he wanted was to risk what little time he had left with you before graduation.
Tumblr media
two weeks before prom, you found yourself sprawled across kai's bed, the familiar comfort of his room and the soft tunes from the radio enveloping you. the scent of cinnamon rolls filled the air, and you took a bite of the sweet pastry kai had made just for you. it was a ritual you cherished, a small piece of normalcy in a sea of uncertainties.
you had been mulling over how to broach the subject of prom with kai. the subtle hints you had dropped over the past few weeks had not yielded any clear response from him. you decided to take a leap of faith, hoping that he might finally address the topic.
“kai,” you began, your voice soft but steady, “do you have any plans for the prom dance?”
kai’s demeanor shifted instantly. he sat up straighter, his eyes widening slightly. he looked at you, his expression a mix of surprise and anxiety. you could almost see the gears turning in his mind as he struggled to find the right words.
“uh, well,” he stammered, rubbing the back of his neck, “i haven’t really thought about it much. i mean, i guess... i was thinking of just going as a regular attendee.”
his hesitation was palpable, and you felt a pang of disappointment. you had hoped for a clearer answer, a sign that he was planning to ask you, but instead, his response seemed to suggest otherwise. you forced a smile, one that didn’t quite reach your eyes.
“oh,” you said, trying to keep your tone light. “because, actually, i was thinking of asking taehyun to be my partner.”
kai’s face fell as if you had slapped him. his eyes widened in shock, and for a moment, he looked as though his world had shattered. the mention of taehyun, someone he knew you had a complicated history with, seemed to hit him harder than you had anticipated.
“t-th-that’s great then,” kai said, his voice trembling slightly. “i’m sure he’ll be a good partner. i... i don’t really have any plans, so i’ll just be attending.”
his smile was strained, and the awkward silence that followed was heavy with unspoken words. the room felt smaller, the weight of kai’s unspoken feelings pressing down on both of you. you could see the hurt in his eyes, and it made your heart ache.
“i think... i should go home,” you said quietly, standing up. “it’s getting late.”
kai nodded, his expression a mix of sadness and resignation. “yeah, okay. i’ll see you around.”
you left his house with a lump in your throat, tears threatening to spill. once you were home, you collapsed into your mom’s arms, the pain of unspoken words and unrealized hopes overwhelming you. you cried softly, your teenage heart feeling as though it was breaking for the first time.
back at kai’s house, the evening had turned somber. he sat with his dad outside, the cool night air offering little solace. kai stared at the stars, his thoughts a jumble of regret and self-reproach. he had wanted to ask you to prom, but his fear and uncertainty had held him back.
“dad,” kai finally said, his voice barely above a whisper, “i messed up. i wanted to ask y/n to prom, but i couldn’t bring myself to do it. now she’s planning to go with taehyun.”
his dad, sensing the depth of kai’s pain, placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. he didn’t need to say anything—his presence and the shared silence spoke volumes. they sat together, the unspoken understanding between them a quiet testament to kai’s heartbreak.
kai’s thoughts swirled around the missed opportunity and his own cowardice. he had let his fears prevent him from expressing his true feelings, and now it felt like it was too late. the night passed in a haze of regret, kai’s heart heavy with the weight of his unspoken love and the realization of what he had lost.
Tumblr media
the days after that night seemed to stretch on endlessly, each one marked by a heavy silence between you and kai. the once-easy conversations and warm smiles had been replaced by a stilted, almost uncomfortable formality. you would exchange polite hellos if you happened to run into each other in the neighborhood, but there was an unmistakable distance between you now.
one morning, you were walking to the corner store when you saw kai coming from the opposite direction. your heart skipped a beat, hoping for some semblance of the old familiarity. you offered a tentative smile, but kai’s response was a brief nod, his eyes quickly averting to the ground. the warmth you had once felt in his presence seemed to be gone, replaced by a chill that made your chest ache.
often times, you would take a different route to avoid further awkward encounters. as you walked past kai’s house, you saw him through the window, his back to you as he worked on a new batch of cinnamon rolls. the sight of him, so absorbed in his task, stirred a pang of longing in your heart. you remembered the days when you would sit in his kitchen, laughing and talking for hours over those same cinnamon rolls. now, even seeing him from afar felt like a painful reminder of what had been lost.
the neighborhood that once felt like a comforting haven now seemed like a landscape of painful reminders. each time you encountered kai while walking to school or grabbing groceries, the air was thick with unspoken awkwardness.
it was thursday, you ran into kai at the local park. he was sitting on a bench, reading a book, and for a moment, you hesitated. you had hoped that time would heal the rift between you, but now, the distance felt insurmountable.
“hey, kai,” you said, trying to sound casual as you approached.
kai looked up from his book, his eyes meeting yours with a brief flicker of surprise. he gave a stiff smile, one that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “oh, hey. didn’t expect to see you here.”
“yeah, just needed some fresh air,” you replied, forcing a smile. “what are you reading?”
“just a novel for class,” kai said, his tone polite but distant. “it’s nothing special.”
the conversation fell flat, each of you searching for something to say but coming up empty. the shared history that had once bridged the gap between you now felt like a distant memory. kai shifted uncomfortably on the bench, his fingers fidgeting with the book’s cover.
“well,” you said, feeling the weight of the silence, “i should get going.”
“yeah, me too,” kai replied, standing up. “see you around.”
you both went your separate ways, the encounter leaving a bitter taste in your mouth. the closeness you had once shared was now replaced with an uncomfortable tension that neither of you knew how to navigate.
Tumblr media
kai stood on the edge of the crowd, his heart a mixture of bittersweet resignation and tender longing. from his vantage point, he watched you dance with taehyun, the joy in your eyes evident even from a distance. the sight of you smiling, lost in the moment, tugged at the corners of his heart.
he took a deep breath, trying to steady the emotions that threatened to overwhelm him. the music played softly in the background, a gentle reminder of the beauty of the night, even if he wasn’t part of it. the rhythmic beat and the laughter of the crowd seemed distant, as if he were in a bubble of his own making.
as he observed, kai couldn’t help but reflect on the past weeks—the missed opportunities, the unspoken words, and the painful realization of his own fear. he thought back to those afternoons spent in the park, the moments when he had wanted to tell you how he felt but had been paralyzed by the fear of rejection.
a gentle tap on his shoulder pulled him from his reverie. it was beomgyu, who had noticed kai standing apart from the festivities.
“hey, man,” beomgyu said, his voice carrying a note of concern. “you okay?”
kai forced a smile, though it didn’t fully reach his eyes. “yeah, I’m fine. just needed a moment to think.”
beomgyu studied him for a moment, then nodded. “it’s a tough night, huh? seeing someone you care about with someone else.”
“yeah,” kai said, his voice soft. “but i guess it’s part of life. not everything ends the way you want it to.”
beomgyu clapped him on the back. “you know, it’s okay to feel sad. but don’t let it keep you from moving forward. sometimes, the hardest things teach us the most.”
kai nodded, appreciating the sentiment but feeling the weight of his own emotions. “thanks, beomgyu.”
beomgyu offered a reassuring smile before wandering back into the crowd, leaving kai alone with his thoughts once more.
kai took a step back, finding a quiet spot away from the hustle and bustle of the prom. he leaned against a wall, the coolness of the brick grounding him as he watched you dance. the smile on your face was genuine, and it struck him how much you deserved to be happy, even if he wasn’t the one making you smile.
he let his gaze soften, allowing himself to embrace the melancholy of the moment. the heartache was real, a sharp pang that resonated deeply within him. but even through the pain, he found a strange sense of peace. it was as if he was finally coming to terms with the reality of the situation.
kai closed his eyes, letting the memories of your shared moments wash over him. the way you laughed at his jokes, the warmth of your presence, and the bittersweet taste of those cinnamon rolls. all of it was a testament to what had been, and what might have been, had he not been so afraid.
finally, with a deep breath, kai straightened up and looked back at the dance floor. his eyes met yours once more, and this time, he allowed a genuine smile to spread across his face. it wasn’t a smile of regret or sorrow, but one of acceptance and hope.
“you’re going to be okay,” he murmured to himself, the words feeling like a promise. “things will get better eventually. they always do.”
he turned away from the dance floor, making his way through the crowd with a newfound resolve. each step felt lighter, as if the burden of his heartache was slowly lifting. he knew that moving on wouldn’t be immediate or easy, but he also knew that healing would come in time.as kai exited the venue, he glanced back one last time, catching a fleeting glimpse of you laughing with taehyun. it was a moment of closure, a final acknowledgment of what had been and what could never be.

I'm really tempted to comb through his lines about luck and write meta on it, because even off the top of my head, looking only at DR2/Dangan Island content, it's like
His FTEs frame bad luck as being part of good luck: bad thing leads into something good enough to compensate
But he has at least one Dangan Island line where he anticipates something bad after experiencing something good
And interestingly considers nothing much happening to him to be bad luck in Dangan Island's ending, even though he had a good time, which warrants some unpacking (my current hypothesis is it's because his impending death is making him desperate to make his life meaningful, not 'waste' his remaining time)
Not all of his examples fall neatly into his luck cycle model, especially not the FTE version where the events are connected. The diagnosis and HPA admission were separate-ass events, in DI's ending he expected his convo with Hinata to go well because of the aforementioned general '''bad''' luck too, the events of chapter 5 are hard to sort into the model, some DI interactions make it sound like he just has extreme outcomes sometimes (eg. he'd win capture the flag first try every single time), etc etc.
I have a feeling at least some of the way he talks about his luck is copium, especially in his FTEs since he really had to focus on the idea of bad -> good in the killing game. But as you say, he could have been intentionally oversimplifying... and if he actually thought the cycle worked both ways, saying he lives in fear of bad things every time something good randomly happens might've veered too close to genuine vulnerability. Which he avoided (by his standards anyway- I think he lacked awareness of how bad the kidnapping + plane stories were) until the final FTE.
Either way, I definitely need to scrutinise his lines more :'D
Tumblr media
A ton of good points! Komaeda’s luck is fascinating and nowhere near as clear-cut as he originally makes it sound. Fics where he tries to “game the system” and finally gain some sort of control over his luck are interesting—but honestly, I feel like he’s already been trying to do that for as long as he’s lived. And he exercises an impressive amount of power under those restraints! But…also.
As for anticipating something bad after experiencing something good, I do think the way Komaeda portrays the order of events is just what he tells himself and/or Hinata. In reality, good and bad luck are two sides of the same coin to him—the real important part isn’t the order, it’s that nothing good can happen without something bad happening too. Everything has a price. Luck is a zero-sum game.
(He touches on this again in 2.5 when he says there’s “a fixed amount of luck in the world” and so he’s content to suffer the bad luck for everyone else’s benefit. In the dream-world sim, the luck he experiences is apparently “ideal”, but it still has to exist. There still has to be an Omelas child of sorts. Komaeda would just rather it be himself.)
As for good being caused by bad vs. just following it, it definitely happens both ways and he’s definitely contradicted himself. Beyond that, even, there are cases in the game where it’s not totally clear what sort of cycle is involved in the luck he experiences. In 2-1, he draws the short straw simply because he wanted to. Was the bad…offscreen? Was it the killing game itself? Would “being forced to clean” actually count as bad luck even if he wanted it? Was it then followed by the good luck of finding the secret passage? People hypothesize that his luck works differently in the simulation according to his own belief, which would complicate things even more, but I’m sort of back-and-forth on that theory. There are arguably examples of luck working the way Komaeda claims it does in DR2, also—such as getting the Despair Disease the worst out of anyone thanks to his compromised immune system, but being able to discover in the hospital that Tsumiki was the culprit. ending up in the hospital but meeting a lovey-dovey nurse GONE WRONG
I’ve always read the Island Mode ending as copium myself. I do definitely think he was hoping for a chance to die meaningfully on the island, and I guess in his mind that could be bad luck, but it doesn’t really fit his model. The way he tries to nudge Hinata into agreeing it’s bad luck, the scene reads to me like he just needs to believe it’s bad luck so he can solemnly ask Hinata to be his friend. (And I think it’s notable that in the word he uses for friend here is 友達 tomodachi, which in this context could be understood as more of a personal friend—everywhere else, he’s used the word 仲間 nakama, comrades, to refer to the whole class as a unit.) And remember, being loved by someone is another way that Komaeda’s death could have meaning—so even if he didn’t end up in the climactic situation he was expecting, perhaps he’s realized there’s another way to get what he wants. :’)
But, yeah, what decides if something is good or bad luck for Komaeda though? I think even that’s not always clear to him.
I’ve heard the view that it “gives him what he immediately wants while taking away what is subconsciously valuable to him” (from TheAmityElf, I think) which is interesting, especially to play with as a writing tool, but not ultimately convincing. Some events could be loosely mapped to that pattern, but others contradict it a bit—you can’t tell me he just wanted money, and he did actively try to turn down his invitation to Hope’s Peak.
Which is now also making me think: Since the diagnoses and the invitation weren’t directly related, do you think he even connected them in his mind at first? What if he didn’t, and so he was afraid that by going to Hope’s Peak he would be invoking even more bad luck yet to come?
One more interesting dimension of his luck to think about is whether it hurts others vs. himself. In 2.5 it only hurts Komaeda, but that’s not quite the direct opposite of his real luck, because his real luck gave him cancer and dementia! However, it also does seem to be proactive in protecting him from actual death in both 2.5 and the rest of canon.
I’ll conclude this reply with this…relevant blackout poetry (blackout infographic?) I made years ago and which you suddenly reminded me of, lmao.
Tumblr media
Silly coda: This is why Komaeda’s favorite word is eucatastrophe.
(…How lucky, then, that people say “Komaeda, eucatastrophe!” to him all the time!)

Do you know of any solo RPGs that allow you to simulate a group/faction/place and many different NPCs? I guess I'm looking for something like a Sims or Dwarf Fortress but in the form of a TTRPG. Let me create a town and its inhabitants and roll or draw cards to determine what happens to them, or something like that. Thanks!
THEME: Solo "Sims" Games
Hello friend, these are some games coming from a few different angles but all have the common theme of interacting with a community or a group. I couldn't find a lot that allows you to play a number of characters at once, but there are a number of games that still ask you to manage a lot of people as one person! I hope you find them useful!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Spiritpath Hotel, by 89 Lightwatch Avenue.
You are the owner of a fine establishment called The Spiritpath Hotel. Guests have come from all over to stay. The hotel mysteriously called them here, sensing that each of them are missing something important in their lives. They don't know what it is yet, so it's up to you to figure it out.
No one believes magic exists. Your guests think they are here to enjoy a vacation, but you know better. They came because your hotel promised them happiness they can't get anywhere else. You have a special power that lets you grant one thing to each person you meet and you use it to help your guests.
Discover who your guests are, figure out something important that they need, and provide it to them in a way only you can.
You’re not necessarily embodying all of the characters in this game, but you are continuously meeting and helping new NPCs as you play. This game uses a tarot deck or a random number generator to provide you with prompts, and you’ll learn more about your guests the longer they stay. I appreciate that the designer has included a reference sheet and worksheets to help you play - and the fact that you need them points to a management system that might feel similar to the Sims.
Dino Park, by Armanda.
So, you want to be part of DINO PARK. You’ve been chosen to work with us for a season! You must be thrilled! We’re the first park that through science brought Dinosaurs back to life. And you have a chance to work with us.
We’re counting on your qualities as a human being and as a professional to make this park your home for these eight weeks. We will train you to be an outstanding member of our team. These weeks with us are going to be a life-changing experience.
Dino Park gives you gear to help you take care of the dinosaurs in the form of a coin and a number of polyhedral dice, so I’m assuming that most resolution in this game revolves around using your gear to help you do certain things. You’ll also have personal skills and weaknesses that look like they’ll come into play depending on how you decide to solve problems. Your character will receive calls for help throughout the park, so it looks like you’ll be interact with dinosaurs and humans alike, and the game also advertises a catastrophe track - so if things truly go south, you’ll have to hightail it out of there in the style of Jurassic Park!
This game is probably good for folks who love nature games, dinosaurs, or fighting against a slowly building disaster.
Save The Community Radio!, by Wizard of Ox.
You and your group of friends used to run a radio station, giving up your weekends and nights to make sure your local community got a fresh dose of soundwaves. The problem is that, as time passed, most of your friends stopped doing so, except for you, who are still passionately trying to keep it up and running (and failing, mostly).
Now the local government is threatening to cut funding and shut down your station unless you can prove that you can handle it, but to do so, you have to get your friends back together. Navigate the fallout of your previous relationships with each character and convince them to help you save the radio, or live to see it be shut down.
Save the Community Radio! is a solo journaling RPG focused on building relationships with multiple characters whom you have grown apart from in order to save something you collectively spent your youth trying to build. It heavily relies on these connections and how you interpret them, with prompts and actions chosen by dices and decks, but enough leeway for you to write your characters however you want.
This game uses a deck of playing cards and some 6-side dice to help you build the world where your community radio is about to fail. You work for the radio, and you’re trying to get your friends to care about it again. However, not all of your friends feel positive about you anymore, so you might have to mend those relationships first.
The deck of cards provides prompts for different problems that show up as you play, such as broken equipment or lack of guests for broadcast. You’ll likely need different kinds of people to call on to fix these problems - and hopefully you can fix your relationships with your friends before you lose all resources entirely! If you want a game about building connections, this is your game.
Note: This game comes as a RAR file, so you’ll need to make sure you have an application on your computer that can turn it into a PDF.
Crow Island: funeral//PROCESSION, by Tenbear.
funeral // PROCESSION is a solo TTRPG introducing you to the universe of Crow Island, a sci-fi fantasy world centering Indigenous people and People of Colour. Following the destruction of your village by a Corrupt Spirit you and Members of the Moon Clan will transport the body of your Chief through the wilderness of the Porcupine Nation to the City of Seven Nations for proper burial.
This is a survival game, where you play as a clan but it doesn’t seem necessary to name each clan’s members. You will have to survive against loss of equipment, predators, and depleting supplies. The game uses a deck of playing cards as sort of a prompt generator, providing you with either obstacles or resources as you make your way to the City of Seven Nations.
The reviews of this game compare it to a Choose Your Own Adventure kind of game, so if that sounds interesting, you might want to check this game out.
Nature/Town/Farm/Villagers, by Cardboard Hyperfix.
You are a farmer who just moved into town. You had family that lived here a while ago, but not anymore. The town has seen better days, and you are here to help.
This is meant to be both a farming simulator and a community simulator. Inspired by Harvest Moon, you are a farmer who just moved to town, and are responsible for both making your farm flourish and helping your neighbours solve their problems.
The game follows a calendar of four months, one month for each season. The majority of your play revolves around picking focuses and figuring out both what the problems of each focus is, and then work to wards solving them. Each day you roll 2d6 and use their results to help you solve problems.
If you want a game that you can choose to play over an extended period of time, or if you really enjoy Harvest Moon, you might want to check out this game.
Apawthecaria: A Poultice Pounder Adventure, by BlackwellWriter.
Apawthecaria is a blend of Apothecaria and Scurry! Go on a potion-making, road-tripping, friend-making adventure.
Apothecaria is a solo potion-making game about taking care of unfortunate villagers. Scurry is a game about tiny creatures adventuring through Scotland’s underbrush. Apawthecaria combines the two that brings your little poultice-maker through the same world as Scurry, helping little creatures with their injuries and ailments.
This game is absolutely adorable, and I like the fact that you can recruit a Familiar and a number of Companion bugs on your journeys. I’m assuming that along with meeting a number of patients on your travels, you’ll be using many of the potion-making and foraging rules of Apothecaria. There’s a lot of management involved - you’ll be tracking your reputation, upgrading equipment, and bartering for ingredients (aka reagents) as you travel.
If you like a game with enchanting art and plenty setting already established for you to explore, this might be a game for you.
Scavengers, by Gasini.
Scavengers is a solo hexcrawling adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world. You play as a crew of foolhardy goblins struggling to pilot an ancient vehicle known as The Gas Horse. Your crew's goal is to scour the wastes for salvage to expand the goblin homestead.
Your goblins have an eclectic set of skills that will change how each run goes. Be wary, for there is a hunter out in the wastes seeking to end your adventure!
I think this game might meet your requirements because you are playing a crew of goblins, rather than a single character, and because you have something to manage - namely, the Gas Horse. You’re also responsible for a Homestead, where there might even be more goblins waiting for you. The game comes with a Hexflower map for you to explore, and it all looks to fit on a single brochure, so I think this is better for a limited play session rather than extended play.
Nomads of the Isles, by Nik Mirza.
The fate of your clan rests on your shoulders. Will you be able to lead them to prosperity or will your journey end in defeat?
Your clan are on a quest to establish settlements in a new and unknown land. You must lead your people through various terrains such as mountains, deserts, and forests while managing facing unforeseen danger. Your goal is to establish a settlement or more by the end of your reign.
This is a brochure game guided by Firelights, a solo RPG that is great for metroidvania types of games. Roll on a d66 table to determine what kinds of regions you’ll travel through, and draw cards from the Story Deck to determine the difficulty of each action.
While the game is meant to track a journey from one land to another, the actual details of the story are up to you. The cards from the deck provide you with a value that you’ll have to beat, but the detail of each problem is pretty vague: you’ll recieve prompts such as “Reunion”, “Ceremony”, or “Betrayal”. You’ll have to decide what those words mean, and how much detail you want to include. If you want a game that makes it fairly easy to track progress towards a definable goal, this is your game.
DELVE, by BlackwellWriter.
DELVE: A Solo Map Drawing Game is a map drawing game that puts you in control of a dwarven hold as you discover the horrors that lurk below. This 44 page zine has everything you need to generate natural formations, forgotten ruins, enemies, wyrd magics, and ancient monstrosities. It has a simple turn-based combat system, rules for building your hold and optional challenges for a harder experience.
If you like Dwarf Fortress, this is the game for you! Recruit military units, devise traps and track combat. Use cards from a deck to track resources and explore the map, and a d4 or a coin to help you resolve certain problems. This is as much a resource management game as it is a dungeon delving game, with plenty of tables for Magic, Adventurers, Inventions and more. If you like filling out a map and tracking a lot of things at once, this might be the game for you.

Just had a thought and now it won’t get out do my head: What do you think an arcade date with zb1 would be like? What’s their favourite game? How’s the most competitive? Who will win you something? Who tells you to win your own things?
ARCADE DATES WITH ZB1
ft. my cursed thoughts bc i didn't have the energy to flesh stuff out
can be taken romantically or platonically bc friends can have arcade dates too
(i love having funny thoughts in between studying + reliving some cute moments looking back at prom photos for inspo so thank you for this)
favorite games:
jiwoong: he's effortlessly just good at everything to the point where he casually plays all the games when you're sitting there like ?? how
hao: over there playing guitar hero or some shit i swear like proving musical talent to the core!!
hanbin: ddr 100% you can not tell me man isn't on dance dance revolution every single moment there. you can't pull him away either. he devours it too like got everyone watching like that one kid
matthew: bro loves playing claw machines to look at cute things bc me too he just sees things and is like "ooooo" and somehow ends up at it for hours but only comes back with one thing for you (it's the thought that counts)
taerae: he's always on the coin pusher but he's so bad like idk why he plays but he loves standing there BUT he will get frustrated when they won't fall and smack it so he gets the alarm rang on him
ricky: he probably likes to play skee ball. idk why but it gives the VIBES like he would probably like how he looks cool. bc it's like the closest thing to bowling and he seems like someone who would like to look cool while bowling
gyuvin: pacman. he has tried every game and found out he is bad at them. the only thing he can go back to is pacman.
gunwook: playing streetfighter but like seriously. has my man sweating over here. please bring a towel for him.
yujin: he gives me the vibes of someone who would play those like shooting simulator whether it be jurassic park or like those ones with the zombies. and he might get jumpscared lol
most competitive: hao
doesn't really try to be but the moment you're in there challenging him, he's going at 100%
would win at like every game and you're sitting their regretting ever doubting him
though he just gives you all his points afterward so you can do whatever you want for prizes
that's the real reason he just wanted some motivation to get more points for you
wins you things: matthew, jiwoong, ricky (kinda)
we've already talked about matthew spending hours to get something for you (he's super diligent about it he will get you the thing you want even if he spends all his money)
wbk jiwoong good at it all, so no surprise he comes back with whatever you wanted (doesn't matter if its 1 or 10 he shall get them all)
so now ricky
why kinda?
well he doesn't actually win you it
he tries but then finds out that it's all a scam and nearly impossible
so he tries to bribe the employee to give it to him
ends up buying it from them for you so it's the same thing right??
tells you to win your own things: yujin, taerae
OK TAERAE IS KINDA GOOFY
he wants to but then gets frustrated that he can't bc like?? who made it so damn hard
so he tries and then almost breaks the machine so ends up telling you to do it yourself
and then we have yujin who's just just like "do it yourself" bc he doesn't wanna
but then you keep bothering him about it bc you can't win
like bro getting a lil annoyed with how badly you want something
so then he plays it
wins
but then keeps it for himself
he says it's compensation for you bothering him about it LMAO
too busy to even be near a machine: hao, hanbin, gyuvin, gunwook
well technically hao is going to get points to get you prizes but he's staying away from the machines knowing they're a scam
the other three though, they're off in their own worlds
like
they take their games very seriously (especially hanbin & gunwook)
gyuvin's just having a nice time being immersed so you don't want to bother him

If everyone in P:EG had a console, what games would they be into?
Small CH1 spoilers
Cassidy: All of them, but particularly anything highly competitive and with a lot of depth.
Damon: Logic and puzzle games, since he likes feeling smart after beating them. Though he has a soft spot for visual novels with a horror/mystery aspect, such as Slay the Princess, Doki Doki Literature Club, and Danganronpa, for similar reasons. (I mean, he's the protag, I had to give him Dangan xD)
Desmond: First person shooters, because he's really good at them and takes pride in that.
Diana: Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, Minecraft, and similar sandboxy/simulator games with a peaceful atmosphere. Uses games to chill, and loves forming deep attachments to NPCs. Has cried over the death of a Minecraft wolf before, but then again, who hasn't?
Eloise: Fighting games, since she can apply quite a few of the concepts used in fencing while playing them. The only reason she didn't go to the Super Slam Sisters tournament is that she can get kinda intense playing them and didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable (this might be a great moment to remind everyone these are pretty unserious headcanons and nothing else :v).
Eva: RPGs are her jam, but she also enjoys puzzle and logic games, especially if they involve real world science.
Grace: Anything highly competitive, especially sport or fighting games.
Ingrid: According to her profile, she likes combat, so she's partial to fighting games, though she generally doesn't like video games too much.
Jean: Party games such as Mario Party, because it's what his crew plays on his ship when they bring a console, so it reminds him of home.
Jett: Racing games, for obvious reasons, but he can also enjoy anything with a competitive element.
Kai: He prefers playing mobile games, mainly runner style. He's the in-universe person who popularized the "Subway Surfers on the side of the video" Tiktok strategy by using his own gameplay. He's actually surprisingly good at it.
Mark: Rhythm games. Is secretly a top tier osu player. No one has connected the dots between said top player and Mayhem, and Mark would like to keep it that way.
Toshiko: Dating sims, she calls it "research." Also thoroughly enjoys RPGs with interesting characters, but which have a relatively lighthearted theme, like Undertale and Pokemon.
Ulysses: Although he dislikes computers per his student profile, if he has to choose a game, it would be something trivia or puzzle based. Again, he likes both those things according to his profile.
Wolfgang: Visual novels are his jam, and his favorite is obviously Ace Attorney. Even if he does get ticked off every time he spots some kind of inaccuracy in the depiction of the legal system. To quote him: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN UPDATED AUTOPSY REPORT?!?!?!??!"
Wenona: Resource management strategy games, such as Factorio. Since she feels a pretty deep connection to bears (it's her animal symbol and she has a tattoo of one), the Clickteam FNAF games are her guilty pleasure, and she's beat UCN's 50/20 a few times, no Death Coin needed.
Tozu: He enjoys any game where he can either inflict suffering (Plague Inc, Sims, etc.) or let out his theater kid roleplaying skills.
Mara: Gruesome first person shooters and Animal Crossing. No inbetween.
Cara: Educational games and mobile games.
Thanks for the ask! Pretty fun to think about! :D

So I am awake. And human once again. It seems once midnight struck I was no longer afflicted by whatever transformed me and reverted to my original form. Æther and Gills are back to their normal forms as well.
It looks like they had fun... but I think they seem kind of relieved to get back to being Pokemon.
I think I owe them some thanks here, for keeping things held down in all that chaos and confusion. I think I also owe some thanks to @code-and-coins for helping us out with the whole translation situation. It was incredibly distressing being unable to communicate like that.
I can't say the experience of being a Pokemon is one I'd gladly go back to any time soon. Controlling things like my ability to duplicate items was, in fact, really rather difficult. Most of the time it happened without my meaning for it to happen, as an automatic stress response, like shouting when you're frightened.
It also leaves you exhausted after doing it a few times. I think the moment I was back at the lab I fell asleep because of that.
Can also say, the experience of being in a Pokeball was one I wasn't expecting to have. It wasn't all that bad really. The simulated environment was snug and pretty comfortable and it did keep me feeling pretty safe. Though... knowing Pokeballs employ a taming mechanism that is meant to make a pokemon feel calm... that does kind of color that experience a little differently. Hm...
Well at any rate it looks like things are back to normal here at the lab! I am hoping that's the last unexpected phenomenon we need to deal with here for a while!

Since splatfest is it's own thing in the squid meme au what teams was Meggy?
(so I'm going with the North American Splatfests for this since in SMG4 canon the Mushroom Kingdom and Inkadia are in the US for some reason)
Splatoon 1
(since this would all be before she met Mario I can only base them off her pre-character development personality and Vibes. I have explanations for a few of them but for most I'm kinda-sorta picking at random)
Cats (since she eventually gets a cat in canon)
Roller Coasters
Marshmallows (we saw how that one food fight episode went)
Autobots
Art
Planes
Ninjas
Burgers
Naughty
Future
Pokemon Blue
Snowman
Spongebob
Costume Party
Early Bird (She would be a Morning Person, wouldn't she?)
Marie (I HC that she used to have a celebrity crush on Marie. Because I Can)
Splatoon 2
Cake
Ketchup
Flight (Mostly because she picked her team right after getting home from Mario's Challenge and was thinking that flight would've made some of those floors a lot easier to get through)
Vampire (This one's just for me ;))
Sci-Fi (the Fest started the same day she did a Matrix scene for a movie audition, it just makes sense)
Sock (honestly she kind of just picked one at random since she was too worried about Paige to really care. she almost didn't bother going at all)
Action (duh)
Money
Egg
Soccer (anyone notice a pattern developing?)
Leo (okay losing streak aside I genuinely think Leo would be her favorite of the four)
Mikey
Raph
No Pulp (the texture just feels wrong to her)
Octopus (She ended up in matches with Desti a few times and it was awkward being on the same side)
Fork (FINALLY A WIN! Just in time for Waluigi Time...)
Skipped (she was a little busy being the first victim of the Waluigi Apocalypse)
Treat
Salsa (she may or may not be allergic to avocados)
Hero
Friends (considering what I've implied Meggy and Paige's parents are like compared to the NSS and Glitchy Gang is it really surprising?)
Pancakes (she might have just flipped a coin for this one)
Skipped (she doesn't have time for Splatfest there's TRAINING TO BE DONE!!!)
Skipped (kind of hard to participate in Splatfest when all your weapons are stolen)
Skipped (both because she wouldn't have had time with the Tournament going on and...you know...the whole Being Kidnapped Thing)
Narwhals (after Mario's pep talk part of her getting back into the swing of things includes doing Splatfest stuff)
Chaos (she probably would've picked Order before she met Mario, but...)
Ketchup (a lot of things have changed for Meggy. her preference in condiments isn't one of them)
Treat
Super Mushroom (apparently she likes how they taste)
Splatoon 3
(I know she doesn't live in or even near Splatsville but thanks to the DLC we know that Inkopolis participates in Splatsville Splatfests and I figure that by this point there's be a large enough population of Inkfish living in the Mushroom Kingdom that they would too. Plus Meggy's still at least part inkling and is still culturally an Inkling so...)
Rock
Skipped (since her very existence happened to be illegal at the time and she and every other OC dropped dead the exact same day the Fest started)
Grass
Sweet
Milk Chocolate
Aliens (in honor of Greg, of course)
Courage
Skipped (depending on how the timeline works out this is either during or immediately after everyone being stuck in a simulation for about a month. no way they're bothering with an ice cream Splatfest of all things)
Love (time changes a person)
Big Man (she did feel a little awkward picking between people she considers friends by this point. that being said, BIG MAAAAAAAN!!!!!)
Skeleton (I know this happens at the same time as Heist WotFI but she isn't even in that episode (I don't care that she was credited for the song that was her voice actress not Meggy herself she was not physically present and had no idea what anyone was doing that night))
Hug
Friends
Friday
[We interrupt this broadcast to bring you PUZZLEVISION!!!]
[And this one too!]
Save the World (obviously)

for the wip asks, you HAAAVE to tell me about numismatist ! or any of your original work, it all sounds really intriguing :-33 if you're looking for a more specific questions, what's your favorite original piece, and why ? what's your favorite media to write fanworks for ? no pressure to answer, just curious 🐾
Thank you so much for the ask.
"Numismatist" is a story idea I got because I realised that most people don't know that it's a fancy word for a coin expert. So, I thought, what if people start assuming this ordinary woman, a numismatist is some kind of powerful mage . . .
As for the questions:
It's very hard to chose a favourite original story since they're all special to me. However, at the moment I'm finding it alot easier to write for the Numismatist and Much Ado About Nothing stories than the others.
I write for alot of fandoms, it just depends where the hyperfixation leads me. Currently, it's on Good Omens, but I shift and I'm still getting ideas for stories in the Star Wars and TMNT 2003 universes.
Since you were interested in the original stories, here are some snippets.
Numismatist:
"The inn had been painstakingly built by her brother many years ago, when he’d first come to the village. He’d told her the whole story the night he’d opened the inn. He’d fled to Thasselbrook in an attempt to escape his gift. Alastor—Al—was a powerful medium, but having the dead come to him for help, incessantly, relentlessly, letting him have a moments peace, had nearly driven him mad, so he’d fled. When he reached Thasselbrook, he’d encountered a ghost calling herself “Granny Ash”. She’d felt sorry for him and had taken him under her wing. She’d chased off the worst of the spirits hounding him and had established an orderly arrangement where the spirits could consult with him at certain times and he would help them out in a timely manner."
Memory Loss:
The drones were trying to circle around him and surround him. That was not an ideal situation. Especially since, if they got past him, they might re-capture the target. Zarek moved to a position where his rear was covered and took aim again This time, when he fired, the drones approached head on, allowing Zarek to take them out, once by one. Suddenly, his communication line opened.
“We captured the last target!” Thorn cheered.
The world around them dissolved until they were standing back in the simulation chamber. The squad stared at each other for a long moment as Zarek could feel the joy building in the air.
“Report back to your bunks, immediately,” CODE-X ordered.
And, instantly, the joy snuffed out of existence.
Much Ado about Nothing Rewrite
“Via, apologise. You’re being rude to our guest,” Jazinda said flatly.
“I didn’t start it. He did.”
“You started it by being your usual prickly self,” Bendix said flatly.
“Bendix,” Pedro warned.
“It’s all right. I apologise for saying that a harpy scratching his face would be an improvement on how it looks at the moment.”
“You never said that.”
Via smiled. “I just did.”
“For the sake of the Great Goddess, both of you stop it. I don’t want to hear another sharp comment from either of you for the rest of the evening, am I clear?”
Book 1:
Imara wiped her sweaty palms on her skirt and tried to remember how to breathe. She could do this. She knew she could do this. All she had to do was go up the stairs, show someone her letter of recommendation from Lady Izadora so that they could review her work. Then, once that was done, they would surely apprentice her as a wordsmith. After all, she knew her writing was really, really good. Everyone said so.  She glanced back up the stairs. People bustled in and out of the front doors, some carrying gorgeous, leather-bound books, others holding armfuls of scrolls and still other lugging large cases along—cases which she guessed contained beautiful inks, quills and paper for the illustrated manuscripts.

What's your favorite game you played this year?
oohooohooh ok so this is sort of a toughie. favorite games this year consisted of all really fucking good games but if I had to rate them based on how I enjoyed them it would definitely go
mario wonder
pizza tower
antonblast
vividlope
(...i know antonblast isn't technically out yet, but hush)
in general mario wonder was a fucking GREAT experience. got it day 1. streamed it to like 3 people. played on my own for the rest of that day. proceeded to beat it the next. then I 100%ed it within the next two days (minus the standees because I did stupid shit and totally forgot to spend my flower coins on them so I missed all the bonuses that would have made that easier) but all in all holy shit I love that game. the online is so fun and im still trying to figure out if I can take up lexis offer on racing it heuheuheu...
pizza tower is also a Really Fucking Good Game god. I waited 5 years and I was not disappointed. this [cheesy pizza pun redacted]. i recently p-ranked the final boss to finish my 100% savefile and it's so fun to replay tbh. not to mention the modding scene god it's big and the amount of shit people are doing with this game is insane. and they're still adding new official content to the game too!!! it's crazy !! cannot fucking wait for the noise update...
ANTON BLAST 💥💥💥 was pretty fuckin good. i love the ctr boost mechanic. not to mention the voice clips and music and sound design and the animations and everything else about the game is just mwah. very pretty. it's just two levels right now and I'm having a [antonblast pun redacted]. people kept saying pizza tower is a wariolike but I beg to differ, frankly. pt is much more similar to like. sonic. i believe antonblast is the true wariolike here. can't wait to play it when it comes out ^^
vividlope was a pleasant surprise! one of my friends introduced it to me while they were srteaming it in a vc and god it's fun. best way I can explain it is like. Autistic Q*Bert. lil painter rabbit girl walking simulator.. 3 dimensional.. and they added a level editor a little bit back too so now you can make funny levels and things like this!!
Tumblr media
although this game is fucking infuriating at times. jaklub you are a monster
also not really on the list because it's not a new game but one I've really been playing more. god i love tf2 and I will always love tf2. I've been getting back in the swing of making content for it and dear lord it's so fun. one of my main recommendations any day. might be tough to get into but I urge anyone who can to play it...
thanks for the ask sky!! ive been waiting for it ...

Story request
Drifter and Eris' reaction to the recordings of Chioma Esi regarding the veil and Maya Sundaresh. They're listening to the whole "veil containment" in the destiny 2 story line. I want to see their rection regarding the relationship of Chioma and Maya and how it was destroyed because they discovered the veil and Maya's obsession with it.
Thank you so much for the story request! It was a blast to write, and I hope you love it! :))
"Chioma Esi, research log: the veil. She did it! Maya connected people to the veil. Our own scientist's. And they survived."
The recording of Chioma Esi's research log echoed throughout the room, bouncing off of the massive fish tanks teeming with life, and through the rows of plants which grew on the opposite wall, filling the silence of the large room within the H.E.L.M.
The Drifter leaned against a sturdy railing, the circular frame of the portal which led to Ahsa's quarters standing firm behind him as he absent-mindedly flipped a jade coin through the air, sending a high pitching ding! through the room every few seconds. Eris Morn stood opposite to the holoprojector between them, which the Drifter adjusted to have play the veil containment logs, her expression forlorn as she stared down at the small glowing screen.
"I should be happy, but… happy that all this horror wasn’t for nothing? But I’m not. I’m disgusted. In myself. In Maya. In all of us. This thing, the Veil. It’s… it’s some kind of web of consciousness. Just like the Vex network, but organic instead of artificial. It makes sense why the Vex want it. Paracausal simulations? There’d be no stopping them. I should be happy. To-to be a part of history, to solve a cosmic riddle. Happy for Maya; happy for all of us. But I’m not. I don’t feel anything. Maya is gone. The woman I knew… may as well have died when we landed on Neptune. But her ghost still haunts me… this place. I don’t know what to do. There’s a generation of children born here now. This is their home. [sighs] I don’t know what to do."
The recording clicked off. They still had four more messages to listen to, but instead of tapping the button that would continue them, Eris walked over to the circular glass tank that sat in the center of the room, stretching from the floor to the ceiling. She watched the strange fish as they leisurely swam about, unaware of the dangers that constantly surrounded all life.
The Drifter came up beside her a moment later.
  "Somethin' on your mind?"
"As we have both ascertained, Maya Sundaresh was obsessive. Obsessive over the wish to gain knowledge." She watched a large frog hop through the water. "I have already heard these messages before, and I know how this ends. She could have been happy had she chosen to walk away from the veil. But she didn't... She is found dead sometime later, having allowed her obsession to drive her every thought and action, and in return it took her very life."
The Drifter watched her, remaining silent and listening.
"Some believe me to be obsessed with the Hive, Zavala has even called me such in the past." She turned toward the Drifter. "I wish for your thoughts on my tactics. Do I overpreocupy my time and energy on these vile creatures? Do you believe I stave myself my chances of happiness?" Her eyes locked on his, pleading for an answer. For his honesty. "You know how dire the outcome was for Dr. Sundaresh. She lost her life, refusing to be happy with what she had, with who she had... you know how important honesty is in this situation, and I urge you to be blatantly, even painfully honest if that is what is required." Eris watched him expectantly as he turned his face towards the glass, observing a school of little fish swim by, his eyes glazed over in deep thought.
Minutes went by like that, the only sound in the room being their soft breathing, the sounds of the rippling water, and the gentle hum of the portal behind them.
"Callin' you obsessed would be like callin' Zavala or Ikora obsessed with the Vanguard." He began, tapping his fingers along the flat surface in front of them. "All 'o you are real serious 'bout your work, you're work just happens to concern a crazy race of aliens that've killed hell of a lot of people. Now, maybe you're impassioned about the Hive, about your work... but obsessed? Nah." He turned to her. "The only thing that would be gettin' in the way of your chances of happiness is just you bein' too busy savin' the world. Heh."
"I would make time for you. I always have."
The Drifter smiled, arching an eyebrow. "I make you happy?"
"Do not pretend you did not already know that." Eris turned back to the fish.
"Heh..." The Drifter slid his hand along her arm. "But back to what we were talkin' about before. Chioma said Maya may as well of been dead when they got to Neptune... she lost herself. You ain't never done that, Moondust. You've never lost yourself, not even when you became a Hive god." He paused a moment before continuing. "Sundaresh had a chance to be happy... but in the end, she chose her work. You and her ain't the same... you're a hard worker, but you still choose to be happy, to focus on the people you got around you." He chuckled. "And in the end, that makes all the difference."
Eris watched the Drifter's expression in the reflection of the glass, noting the way he smiled warmly at her.
A few thoughtful minutes of silence passed before Eris finally spoke.
"Thank you." She smiled ever so slightly. "Your words have offered me comfort."
"Glad to hear it. You've always done the same for me." He reached out and grabbed her hand, squeezing it.
"Do you wish to continue our research?" Eris asked, watching a bioluminescent multi-colored fish swim past, it's long fins flapping behind it.
"Yeah, in a minute. I'd like to research somethin' else real quick," the Drifter replied.
Eris turned toward him. "Indeed? What?"
He smiled, reaching out with his free hand to touch her cheek, the dark tears flowing across his fingers. And in half a second, his face was to hers, his lips gingerly kissing her own.
"Heh! Just wanted to research what it was like to kiss a once Hive gods face." He replied when they pulled away, a triumphant smile across his lips.
He luaghed as Eris shook her head, failing to fight off her smile.
"You are insufferable. Come, we have more messages to listen to."
They returned to holoprojector and continued their work, hearts lighter with the comfort of one another's words.

Nate 19 years old, reader is 18 years old.
Nate POV
I was walking around the house, searching for a neat looking shirt. “Nick?” I walked into his room. He was laying in his bed, smoking a joint. “Yeah, what do you want?” “Can I burrow a shirt.” He looked up at me. “Why?” I nervously cracked my fingers. “I have a date.” He sighed and pointed at his closet. “Take what you want.” “Thanks.” I opened his closet and took a good look. “Is she nice?” “Yeah she is.” He chuckles. “Is she from school?” I grabbed a nice black shirt and closed the closet. “Yes she is from school.” I looked at him, he nods. “Well are you done here?” “Yeah sorry, thanks for the shirt.” “Then get out.” I hurried out of his room. Nina stood at her bedroom door. “You have date?” I walked right into my bedroom closing the door. “I’m just wondering!” She yells after me. ‘How I’m ever going to impress her.’ As I looked at myself in the mirror.
I saw her waiting for me, holding her arms around her body, looking around. “Hey.” She looks at me and smiles. “Hi.” I smiled back at her. “You wanna go inside?” She nods. “Yes please.” I guided us inside. “Want do you to do first? Having some dinner or play some games in the arcade?” “Arcade is good for now.” “Okay, arcade is it then.” We both walked to the game area. “I’ll get us some coins.” I walked up to the cashier. “Hey can I have some coins please.” I placed a 10 dollar bill on the counter. “Sure.. here you go.” He gave me a few coins and I grabbed them. “Thanks.” I turned around as she was waiting for me. “What do you want to do first?” We both walked through the arcade. “Let’s play race simulator.” “Whatever you want.” She walked up to the racing games and hopped into a simulator. “We can race against each other if you want.” “Sure.” I took a seat in the other one and gave her a coin. “Let’s see how good we are.” She giggled as she looked away from me.
“You’re good at this.” She says while laying the fake gun down. “I played to much zombies.” “Zombies is a good game.” “You know the game.” She nods. “Yes of course.” We walked out of the arcade, ready to eat something. “Look who we have here. Miss Y/L/N.” A group of guys walked up on us. “Tell me you’re not here with Diaz.” “Shut up Jackson.” Y/N slightly pushed us away from them. “Let’s go eat something.” I looked at them, they were laughing at me. “Enjoy while you can Diaz, we all know you can’t give her a future.” Y/N looked angry at them. “Ignore them Nate, they like the attention.” I nodded, not leaving my eyes from the group. We both walked away from them, entering the food court.
“I’m sorry about them.” We both took a seat as I placed our food down on the table. “No, I’m sorry.” She looked surprised. “Why are you sorry?” “That I can’t give you the things you want…yet.” I went with my hand over my head. “But that’s okay Nate. I like this.” She reached out to grab my hand. “No you don’t, you’re only being nice to me.” I pulled my hands away from her. She looked hurt. “I wish you could love yourself a bit more Nate.” She stood up from her seat. “Thanks for today but I think it’s better I go now.” She gave me a sad smile and walked off. ‘Fucking shit!’ I stood up and throw away the trash. ‘Your an idiot!’
I walked into the house. Mom was sitting on the sofa with dad. “How did it go.” “Fine.” I immediately walked upstairs to my room. “Hey how did it go?” Nina asked while passing me in the hallway. “Fine.” As I walked in my bedroom, closing my door. I sighed and sat down on the edge of my bed, throwing my shoes off. ‘You can forget it now.’ I moved further on the bed and lay down, my hands behind my head, looking up at the ceiling. ‘Why is the world so unfair.’
“Nate?” I peeked up and saw nick carefully enter my room. “What?” “Are you alright?” He moved to the side of my bed, slowly sitting on it. “I’m fine.” “You’re not, what happened?” I shook my head. “I don’t want to talk about it.” Nick nods and gently pats my leg. “Okay, if you want to talk, I’m here for you.” He stood up and walked away. “Nick.” He stopped and looked at me. “You wanna smoke?” He nods. “Come.” I stood up and followed him into his room. “Here.” He gave me a joint. “I fucked it.” I lighted the joint and took a drag from it. “Why?” I shrugged my shoulders. “We ran into some guys from school.” I sat down next to him and passed the joint to him. “What happened?” He took a hit. “They were talking about me.” Nick nodded. “Let me guess, about us living here.” I nodded. “Is she rich?” “Her parents are rich, she lives at the other side.” Nick nodded. “Listen I don’t know a lot about love and shit but if you guys like each other then fuck what people say. Who cares where you live and where she lives.” I nodded as I looked down at my feet. “I don’t feel like I am good enough to date her.” I felt getting emotional and tried to hide it from him. “Why not, I know you.” I shook my head. “Because I can’t compete against them rich people, it doesn’t matter if I get rich from fighting, they always know I’m that poor guy from the west side.” My voice broke down at the end and I hide my face in my hands, totally breaking down. Nick wrapped his arm around me. “I know it hurts, I know it’s not fair but what I do know is never give up, no matter how hard it is never give up fighting.” I nodded, rubbing away my tears. “Now let’s forget what happened today huh.” He patted on my shoulders. “Let’s watch some crazy mma stuff.” We both got in his bed as he picked up the remote. “Don’t think we are going to cuddle or some shit” I laughed as he zapped through the channels.
I was waiting for her outside at school. My hands in my pockets as the winter season slowly started. The doors opened and there she was, walking with her friends, laughing about something. ‘God, look at her, she’s beautiful.’ She looked at my direction, a smile spread on her face, waving at me. I smiled back at her. She said goodbye to her friends and walked up to me. “Hi.” “Hey.” We both walked at the direction to her house. “I’m sorry about yesterday.” She shook her head. “Apologies accepted but I’m sorry also, It was not very polite of me to leave you like that.” “ it’s fine, I understand.” “I’m still saying sorry.” I smiled at her. “Okay apologies accepted.” She smiles at me “Good so how’s training going?” “Good, how’s school.” She looked at the ground. “Could be better.” She kicked away a stone. “Why?” She shrugged her shoulders. “Did something happen?” She nods. “Yeah, Jackson is being an idiot.” “If’s he’s really bothering you, tell me. I help you.” She smiles at me. “I know but I don’t want to cause trouble at school, I need it you know.” I nodded. “I understand.” We walked past the big villa’s. “You see that house.” She subtle pointed at a house. “Yes, what’s about it.” “That’s where Jackson lives…” she wiggled her eyebrows. “Ahh thank you for the tour here in on the east side.” She laughs and shakes her head. “No problem, I’m a licensed tour guide here.” “So I’ve got the best tour guide in town with me?” She nods proudly. “Yep that’s me.”
I stopped in front of her house, a big front yard with two Range Rover’s parked in front of the house. “Thank you for walking me back to my house.” “No problem, it’s my job remember.” She stepped closer to me and places her hands on my chest. “I hope I see you tomorrow Nate.” She grabbed me carefully by my shoulders and placed a soft kiss on my cheek. “Thank you.” I just smiled at her as she walks up to her front door. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” “I can’t wait.” I waved at her as she enters her home. ‘Yess!’ I fisted bumped in the air. Walking back home with a huge smile on my face. ‘Maybe I am good enough for her.’

As of October 13th, 2024, the race for control of the US House is a dead heat (52% chance for Republicans).
Tumblr media
Simulated poll averages, a pivotal part of my model in 2022, are here. And they're pretty good for Republicans on net, pushing the race to a true coin toss in conjunction with a drop for Democrats in the generic ballot. Let's look at some interesting reactions to all this new data.
Tumblr media
Democrats are not successfully playing offense in California and Arizona, two states that are pivotal to gaining the five seats they need. The biggest offenders are in California's 22nd, which seems to be hedging towards a narrow 2022-like outcome, and 47th, where a weak nominee is barely hanging on in a seat that should be fairly safe for Democrats. There's worse news for Republicans in Nevada, where coattails are coming in for the incumbents from Vice President Harris, and New Mexico, which has had surprisingly lopsided polling at the Congressional level.
Tumblr media
In a bright spot for Democrats, the model now believes there's reason for a bounceback from 2022, where a weak Republican incumbent in Pinellas County is failing to impress and a district in the Miami suburbs is now considered a tossup.
Tumblr media
Thanks to stronger-than-expected polling for Mr. Trump, Michigan is now looking like an unexpected House battleground, with surprisingly Republican seats around Flint and Lansing. The Detroit suburbs, however, have moved a bit towards Democrats.
Tumblr media
Most Mid-Atlantic Democrats don't seem to be doing their jobs. Two districts have flipped to Rs from last week in the Hudson Valley (in a MAJOR surprise given base partisanship) and Central Jersey, and serveral others have moved substantially towards Republicans. A bright spot for Dems is Susan Wilde putting up the fight of her life in Allentown.
Tumblr media
The two competitive districts around the Virginia-North Carolina border are looking... less competitive. Both have moved in opposite directions towards their respective favorites.
A quick warning here - my simulated polling averages are still courtesy of 538, but that outlet has a brand-new set of models after Nate Silver's departure. There's a higher risk of GIGO, but we'll be able to test that possibility very comfortably post-election. I'm not opposed to creating my own district correlation model in the future, pivotal to House polling averages, but I'm only one woman and my resources are limited.
Overall, Democrats' path to the majority rests in California and New York, but those states have been much tougher than they seem on paper. Meanwhile, Republicans need to play offense in Michigan and Pennsylvania to adjust for an otherwise bluer environment, which is going just a bit better for them.
