Marcia brushed past her into the lobby before twirling on her heels to face Anetra again, brown eyes glimmering like topaz under the dim fluorescent lights. “Picture Beyoncé. Then picture Megan Thee Stallion. Then combine those images. This woman was like–a hundred times hotter than that.” Marcia was gesticulating wildly with her free hand as she spoke. Normally, Anetra would find her dramatics endearing, would be teasing her for being incapable of speaking without her whole body getting involved. Instead, she felt frozen, the glimmer in her stomach suddenly starting to feel a lot more insidious.

That while true to the character we see in the film, he loves being evil and is a remorseless awful being, he is still alive. He's capable of caring about others and forming attachments, being genuinely hurt and scared, etc etc etc. He has a tangible depth to him, and you don't woobify him. He sucks. He's mean. He's evil. He's an asshole. He is just not a good person so authentically it's very refreshing.

So what happened was, Kepler came into the picture. When Brea was assigned her padawan, she went on a mission with the 501st so that was a bit of time she spent away from the bad batchers, and Crossy was JUST starting to accept that he really cared for someone, when she comes back with (in Crosshair's words) a whimpering prey animal trailing behind her 😅😅😅 it's not that he's jealous of Kep, but he was used to a particular dynamic, he doesn't like change, and he's not quite emotionally open yet to just TELL Brea he wants to be alone with her. So instead he just sits around and mopes while they're on their next mission scoping out seppies and whatnot.

I have a whole thing thought out in my head where Crosshair and Kep end up separated from the group somehow, and they're forced to confront each other and Crosshair is ALSO forced to look out for Kep. I'll draw or maybe write about that later, but what ended up happening is Kepler falls behind while Crosshair is trying to get away from some enemy droids and back to the team, and he ends up leaving him to be captured. When Brea finds this out she. Is. PISSED. she insists they go back right away for him, but they're under heavy fire and Crosshair tries to hold her back, until he kind of snaps at her and says something along the lines of "you'll just get a new padawan!" 😬😬😬

Safe to say, the look she gives him then is enough to get him to back off, and she goes after Kep with the help of Hunter and the others. Never leave a man behind, right? They get him back successfully, but Crosshair's stupid pride means he would never apologize, even if Brea wanted him to. Safe to say the damage is done anyhow, and Brea doesn't take any more missions with clone force 99 after that...

And ofc, that means she spends more time with the 501st, including Rex, and we all know how that ends up! My partner laughed once and said Brea succeeded in actually making Crosshair WORSE because in my mind palace I attribute his DISDAIN towards Rex in the bad batch arc of season 7 to that, and his dislike of regs in general. There's lots and lots more to say but I'll stop it there for now! Thanks for asking, Limey 🫶🫶🫶

Just finished the layer 7 chainsaw challenge while making use of a very silly strat to score style points. All this time, I've been using the hammer melee and chainsaw yo-yoing, but it turns out that the direct chainsaw melee hits give 4 style points per hit and deal 0.25 damage. By comparison, the yellow impact hammer hit gives 80 120 points and deals 6 damage, and the launched chainsaw gives 12-18 points and deals 4.5 (technically done in 3 hits, but I added them together). Importantly, killing an enemy with a chainsaw attack gives 60 points, and VERY importantly, the impact hammer can't get the x3 style multiplier for staying airborne/sliding. Doing the math, that means the chainsaw melee is ABSURDLY efficient nt at converting enemy health into style points.

Say for example I want to kill a 2.5 health soldier. I could launch the chainsaw at it, which would hit twice and give 6 style points for the first hit, then 60 for the killing blow. With the max x3 multiplier, that's 198 points. I could yellow hammer it for a no-modifiers 120 points. I could red hammer it for 240 points, which would put my hammer on cooldown for 7 seconds. Or, I could jump and whiplash it into my chainsaw melee, landing 9 hits for 4 points each plus a 60-point killing blow for 96 points, with a trivially-easy x3 multiplier to get 288 points!

Turns out, I should've just been chainsawing enemies directly the entire time

Also malicious face takes +4 damage from the impact hammer lol
