It was really sad coming home this morning after dropping off my girl at the vet because I'm so used to her greeting me at the door.. But I just got the call from the vet and she is out of surgery, still a little groggy but doing good! It has been said that all good things must come to an end and for this series, its journey has come to this point. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to channel my frustrations and anxieties as the intention was to visually document my experience during the pandemic.

My illustrations were colourful and expressive, as both platforms were used and uploads were posted twice a week on Wednesdays and Thursdays chronicling how I coped with the work-related challenges of online learning and working from home.

Whilst it was a challenge as I had a demanding work schedule, this did not deter me.

Embarking on this project has definitely motivated me as an Art teacher to continue to utilize social media as a means to post my work as it was not a practical habit due to my demanding schedule as a teacher. To conclude, I embarked on a group collaboration with Brandon Robinson of the blog Just Trust Me I’m an IT Guy. Like myself, Brandon is attached to a secondary school, but works as an I.T. Technician. Using Facebook and Instagram, he too chronicles the challenges he faces on a day to day basis with a series of comical memes and stories. This collaboration has resulted in creating a video post called ‘A Day in the Life during Covid’ series, which features a video which show a change from working in a work environment to working from home. This was a truly enriching experience and it has left me motivated to creating more content for social media in the near future. I encourage viewers to peruse our blogs as we share ea glimpse of what remote working is like under a pandemic.
