most likely this the untamed edit from 2020. i was truly living my peak back then :'D tbh i feel like the whole of tumblr was living its peak when the untamed was airing and when we all lost it together for the longest time after

nope. idk if i function like that tbh. i have some huge friend crushes tho and want to be closer with some ppl a lot! not mentioning names bc am shy haha

but i want to say that monica @stormyoceans is very important to me these days. she brightens up my days and makes my whole fandom experience so much better by simply being her enthusiastic and authentic self ♥ never change!

and also jessi @oswlld who i still cannot believe is someone i can call my friend and bestie on this site. i am so happy we've gotten to share bad buddy, vice versa, and last twilight together! also happy to hear about your life at times and to just share silly things with you ♥

aaaa where to start!! i've had them for awhile (there's art + details under the cut)!! they have a billion aus asjgdfk but their home story is a cyberpunk-esque world that eventually i want to turn into a comic haha. i love the cyberpunk aesthetic and i wanted to put my own twist on the genre so their hardware is made out of different kinds of crystals with an accent of magic

in obsidian oath, they're a vessel for obsidian though yeeeears ago there was a misunderstanding between the people and obsidian. so obsidian in modern day is a resented and disliked gem. and because of this people tried to basically create a new artificial gem to replace obsidian. throughout their story they have to clear obsidian's reputation, as well as deal with the artificial gem (which may or may not be a commentary about AI haha) some basic info! -they're poly and queer! one of their boyfriend's name is deimos, and the other is zhenhui -they have a twin named aibing and a younger sister named xiaolan -they're a mixed kid, which might be why i hold them so close to myself lmao

Re: Zey's giant lightsaber. I started poking around Wikipedia a bit. I thought Makashi would be a lightsaber form that might lend itself to using a 'greatsaber' (WHICH EXIST, KINDA) but I think Makashi sort of implies more of a fencing/epee style. I looked up some videos. My limited knowledge of two handed/greatsword fighting is a lot of the moves rely on using a crossguard, and I don't see any Jedi having the gall to have a crossguard in this era. Especially not Zey. But still! It's cool!!

I do think Maze and Zey develop a close relationship during the war. Maze knows Zey as "General Zey" and Bardan knows his former master as "Jedi Master Zey", and obviously Bardan starts to drift during the war and he no longer has as close of a relationship with Zey.

But yeah we don't really get a lot about Maze's thoughts on Zey prior to Order 66--he goes from punching Ordo for interrupting Zey's meeting (Triple Zero) to him telling Ordo he doesn't like that Zey disagrees with the Chancellor/Republic (Order 66). A lot of it is foreshadowing so the audience has enough to believe Maze goes through with Order 66 for the BIG REVEAL in 501st that he doesn't. But Maze goes HARD for Arligan when they get to Kyrimorut, so even if he saved Zey based on him being "nice" and making caf, I think Maze and Zey got even closer going through the Ordeal.

Like... I headcanon after Maze pretended to shoot Zey, he somehow managed to drag his "body" out of HQ to a transport or whatever, and that's how they got out. Zey was super beat up from having escaped the Temple, and nobody probably questioned an ARC trooper moving a Jedi body? Anyway. Trauma bonded for sure.

YES I WOULD LOVE TO TALK ABOUT ARLIGAN ZEY THANK YOU FOR ASKING

I have a lot of thoughts/hcs, but for now, sticking to my most canon-related ones:

Basics: I think he’s around 49 years old, 6’4, and built like a truck. I imagined he’s pretty clean cut at the beginning of the war and stops caring by the end of it since his hair is described as “shaggy” in 501st. Krad did a really great little comic with Zey and Bardan way back when I was RPing Ordo on tumblr. (circa 2015, wow!) But I'm imagining him younger than that now.

It’s literally nowhere in the books but I feel like Zey deserves to be kinda handsome. That’s my little headcanon treat.

Since he’s a big guy, I think he has a massive lightsaber (SHHHH WITH THE JOKES I KNOW HOW THAT SOUNDS) and wields it with a greatsword style that I am manifesting into lightsaber combat existence.

I have soooo many thoughts about his relationships with Bardan, Etain, Kal, and Maze (and Vau) but they all could probably go in their own separate posts. I really like the 'shssh don't let dad know' energy Zey brings to the story, and the fact that he's only seen through the rest of the cast's perspectives and they all have different takes on him. He gives me professor vibes in the beginning and then someone who's at the end of his fucking rope by the end of it. And I'm obsessed with the fact that Maze saves him and sneaks him to Kyrimorut. A lot of the Skirata gang have mixed feelings about him, but Maze (and Bardan) make the call to save/help him and I just think that's neat.

The lady next door has been your neighbor for quite some time now. Her name is Gwendolyn Laurent. When she speaks her voice has a French accent that somehow draws you in. Some times you go over to help her with random chores. As months pass you notice her belly is bigger than average; realizing she’s carrying more than one baby than the rumors said.

Out of the blue you thought of her. Wondering how someone as beautiful as her doesn’t have a husband or partner to help care for her. There is a knock upon your door. Rising to your feet you wonder who could it be. To your surprise it’s Gwendolyn when you open the door.

“J'ai besoin de votre aide.” She says looking into your eyes. Your expression becomes puzzled as you don’t understand French. She raises her hand to her chest.

“Forgive me, I am learning English. Could you help me with bulb?” She smiles embarrassed.

You turn the light bulb from above and the light turns on. The you climb down the ladder.

“Oh thank you Monsieur! I would have fallen to my death because of how pregnant I am now.” Gwendolyn caresses her huge belly.

“Do you like tea? Coffee?” Her accent is thick on the word coffee.

In the kitchen she pours you a cup of hot water with a teabag in the cup as well as a cup for herself. Gwendolyn sits down, her belly pressing against the table. You smile and ask her if she was married.

She shakes her head no.

“I was never marry. I hads a few boyfriends, but zey never last.” She pauses thinking she should tell him about her unborns father.

“There is no father if you was wondering. I seen doctor who gave me mysterious man batter as I asked, then doctor inserted it. Now I carry triple of what I wanted. But I am very happy to finally be ze mother I always wanted to be.” Gwendolyn smiles innocently staring out the window while rubbing her belly. As you look at her belly you can see them moving inside her.

“Would you like to feel?” Before you could answer, she takes your hand and places it on her belly.

she played in england, aston villa—while you played in spain, real madrid. as you arrived at the team’s entertainment room, you were tackled by daphne, the one you are madly in love with.

“ik heb je gemist. [i’ve missed you.]” daphne said, as you chuckled bringing your nose to hers.

“ik heb je meer gemist, liefje. [i missed you more, love.]” she hummed, you gave her a soft smile as you wrapped her closer to you—not minding the teasing grins from your national teammates. but the two of you were on the youngest side of the team.

“coach zei dat we vandaag niets gaan doen, zou je het leuk vinden om vandaag met me op date te gaan? [coach said we’re not going to do anything today, would you love to go on a date with me, today?]” you watched as she gave you a little nod, before she simply separated the two of you.

you watched as she bid goodbye, going to her room. viv, your roommate this camp ruffled your hair as you laughed.

“hoe eerder je klaar bent, hoe sneller je op de date kunt zijn, kleintje. [the sooner you’re ready, the sooner you can be on the date, little one.]” viv teased as you snickered at her behavior.

it didn’t take long for you to finished, but when you did—you simply dressed yourself before heading to her room, with a small little bag for the date.

“klaar? [finished?]” you asked, as you gave her a kiss on the cheek.

“je hebt er een beetje lang over gedaan. [it took you a bit long.]” she teased, poking your side but closed the door behind her.

you laughed knowing that she was right, you were late—by a minute. viv had asked about the time you’ll both be back, but you gave her a little estimate. knowing you weren’t sure when, it was a something cliche after all.

the walk to the park was silent, something you both enjoyed was mainly each other’s company. you had settled down a blanket, before placing down a few handmade sandwiches.

“een beetje cliché ben je. [you’re a bit cliché.]” daphne replied, as you gave her a gummy smile knowing she was correct. you pulled out a lego box, it was a bunch of lego flowers—something you wanted to do with daphne.

you preferred lego flowers, as they won’t die like real flowers do. it was something long lasting, you were brought into a hug as she gave you a huge thanks.

that night, you both had talked about football related things, life and etc. and when you went back to the hotel, happy looks were given to your way—but you both didn’t mind it.

I didn't want to hijack/derail countessofbiscuit's post about opinions regarding Codywan, but another thing for me--and this is actually much less about Codywan than it is about certain writing choices in clone/Jedi ships--is that I like seeing clones as the heroes of their own story, as actors who effect change for themselves without needing to appeal to a more powerful person as though they're helpless to do something themselves. I understand that there's some amount of fulfilling the wish for a more ideal world/a monumental righting of wrongs in writing something where a Jedi is made to understand 'slavery = bad' through their relationship with one of their soldiers, then becoming an unrelenting moral crusader on behalf of all clones, but a lot about that dynamic really does not do it for me. (I could probably articulate why but it might take me a few days to separate out all the threads of that tapestry.)

Come to think of it, a reason I like Republic Commando so much is that it very much does not do that. The decisions our characters make don't have a sweeping impact that upends the entire system--they don't have the power to do that individually--but they do make their own, meaningful choices with what they do have the power to do, even if it's just on the level of "throw my dress blues into a trash compactor and walk off base never to be seen by the wider world again."
