I didn't want to hijack/derail countessofbiscuit's post about opinions regarding Codywan, but another thing for me--and this is actually much less about Codywan than it is about certain writing choices in clone/Jedi ships--is that I like seeing clones as the heroes of their own story, as actors who effect change for themselves without needing to appeal to a more powerful person as though they're helpless to do something themselves. I understand that there's some amount of fulfilling the wish for a more ideal world/a monumental righting of wrongs in writing something where a Jedi is made to understand 'slavery = bad' through their relationship with one of their soldiers, then becoming an unrelenting moral crusader on behalf of all clones, but a lot about that dynamic really does not do it for me. (I could probably articulate why but it might take me a few days to separate out all the threads of that tapestry.)
Come to think of it, a reason I like Republic Commando so much is that it very much does not do that. The decisions our characters make don't have a sweeping impact that upends the entire system--they don't have the power to do that individually--but they do make their own, meaningful choices with what they do have the power to do, even if it's just on the level of "throw my dress blues into a trash compactor and walk off base never to be seen by the wider world again."

I say you did Alabaster, perhaps the other TA doods like Ethan or Chris?
Tumblr media
Chris! One of my favorite underappreciated guys. I like to think about his design in terms of complimenting/contrasting Clarisse since she's the main character he interacts with, so I lean into him being generally softer shapes than her but a similar sort of build/haircut/also having notable scars. His scars also kinda parallel Luke's, so that's fun.

Do you have any personal Jason or Thundersibs headcanons?
I promised I'd get to it~
So, you had no way of knowing this, so this isn't meant to insult you at all! I just find it hilarious, because asking *me specifically* if I have any headcanons about Jason or the Grace siblings is a bit like asking if I have a pulse 🤣 I love them, especially Jason, and I think Jason especially is WILDLY underappreciated.
i'm a huge sucker for foils, so I keyed into Jason being Percy's right away and immediately adored him. ;; They've been my OTP for about a decade now (holy shit 😂). I could blather about them for ages and ages, but I'll give the highights for now:
Jason would rather be a nurse than an MD.
His comfort action is holding hands—he frequently grabs someone's hand for reassurance in the books!—and it's because Thalia used to hold his hand when he was little (also in the books).
He's very physically affectionate in general, which I think is partly a holdover from being raised by wolves.
His fatal flaw is either love, acceptance, or chivalry, and I can't decide which because I can see cases for all three.
Thalia was immediately soft towards Annabeth because Annabeth reminded her so much of Jason. ;;
There's also the spoilery ones for The Burning Maze...
I am *convinced* that Uncle Rick knew Jason was going to die from the moment of his conception as a character.
there are multiple references to his impending doom throughout The Lost Hero; it's like the gods are the only ones who can see the clock over his head
his first weapon ever was a coin. "Sorry about dooming you, kiddo, this one's on us." (you can thank slash wail at @simha-nakshatra for that one 😭)
Jason is Percy's foil. Percy's arc was learning that he DIDN'T have to sacrifice his life for his friends. Of COURSE Jason's arc was learning that he had the strength to. ;_;
oh and multiple references to stabbing/spearing through the back specifically.
I'll leave it here for now but P L E A S E always feel free to come wail at me about Jason and Thalia AAAAH

I feel like playing Veilguard is retroactively improving my opinion of DAI and making me notice qualities in the game that I'd previously underappreciated. Veilguard's streamlined plot is definitely an improvement gameplay-wise but DAI felt like so much more time and care had gone into creating and writing the world you were exploring. There are a lot of things that still make DAI infuriating at times, e.g. the lack of impactful rp options for a non-andrastian inquisitor, how badly they fumbled the mage-templar conflict, the boring and overly complicated orlesian politics (that one might just be me), but I really miss all those fun little details you could uncover while exploring that just aren't really there in Veilguard. I'm sick of navigating confusing urban mazes with nothing to differentiate one building from the next. Compare exploring Arlathan forest to the temple of Mythal - it's like the skeleton is there but all the things that made exploration interesting are gone. And I know that a lot has been said about the lackluster dialogue already but the party banter in DAI is on another level. It improves your overall experience of the world because it helps to illustrate that these are three dimensional characters who spend a lot of time in close quarters and the progression of their dialogue throughout the game helps to reinforce the passage of time. Idk what the canon is but Veilguard all kind of feels like it happens in about a week because you can spend all day Antiva and then nip to Tevinter through an Eluvian, do a side quest and be home in time for dinner.
We know that the studio got gutted after the game was completed but what happened during the process of making the game that led to this? Was it time pressure? Emphasis on mechanics over storytelling? A deliberate choice in response to criticism of DAI? A creative conflict? How did we lose out on so much creative content that we know this team is capable of delivering?

WOAH THANKS FOR THE DEEP CUT?!?!!!!
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most)
GENO GENO GENO GENO GENO GENO GENO
Geno was one of my first blorbos really, I mean when I was a kid he was my FAVORITE EVER, I did everything with Geno in mind (and I also self-shipped with him back then LOL)
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped)
Mallow is extremely shaped, he is baby, he is friend
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)
I had this super weird hyperfixation on Bowyer, the bow-themed villain from the Forest Maze area, when I was a kid. For some reason. I just was like, hopelessly "in like" with him--not in love, but I thought about him all the time for a while. So Bowyer!
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week)
The Snifit that runs Beetles R Us in Seaside Town. He's so silly, he needs some appreciation!
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave)
I really like Dodo and he's definitely a problem (although not problematic lmao) and probably kind of unpopular. I don't think he's really pathetic.. maybe he is? He's kind of just there, and irritating, and I love him.
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason)
It's hard to want to torment any Mario characters really but when I was a kid I made up big dramatic angsty backstories for Jinx from the Monstro Town dojo for some reason lmao
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell)
Booster probably--

Ghosts in Sewers
The notion of ghosts living in sewers is an intriguing fusion of urban mythology and horror, referencing themes of degradation, loneliness, and the hidden sides of city life. The eerie atmosphere of sewers enhances ghost stories, highlighting the fear of the unknown and the hidden depths beneath civilization's surface through their eerie, winding tunnels and enigmatic echoes. Ghosts in sewers are a metaphor for the traces of unfinished business and abandoned lives that lie beneath the bustling activity of the world above. Unresolved issues or unfortunate events frequently depict these spirits as stuck, unable to move forward. Their presence in such a forlorn and hostile setting heightens the sense of hopelessness and desire that permeates many ghost stories.
Tumblr media
The typical ghost story takes on a new dimension when it takes place in the metropolitan sewer system. Sewers, as opposed to haunted houses or cemeteries, are practical places created for the everyday function of managing garbage. The striking tension that results from the juxtaposition of the supernatural presence of ghosts with the regular operation of sewers prompts contemplation of the hidden facets of urban life and the mysteries housed beneath the city's surface. Sewers and their network of tunnels also evoke a feeling of bewilderment and captivity. The ghosts themselves, often depicted as lost souls unable to find peace and wander aimlessly, resonate with these experiences. Sewers resemble mazes, symbolizing the uncertainty and turmoil that arise from unresolved emotions and incomplete narratives. Moreover, it is possible to interpret the existence of ghosts in sewers as a reflection of societal negligence and the marginalization of particular narratives. Sewers are as out of sight and memory as the stories of individuals overlooked or forgotten. In these environments, ghosts push us to face the unpleasant memories of the past and to deal with its darker sides. Horror films benefit greatly from the creepy ambiance of sewers, where the combination of darkness, echoes, and the unknown makes for an unsettling backdrop for terrifying stories. Sewers, with their cramped and ominous surroundings, intensify the natural dread of what lies under the surface. This environment plays on our primal fears of the unknown and unpredictable.
Tumblr media
Tales of spirits in sewers provide opportunity for closure and atonement, despite the horror they arouse. When characters encounter these ghosts, they are frequently sucked into a mission to learn the ghosts' tales and assist them in finding peace. Through this process, they might face their own anxieties and unsolved problems, which could result in personal development and understanding. To sum up, the notion of ghosts residing in sewers presents an intricate web of ideas and meanings. By fusing elements of urban exploration, horror, and emotional depth, it asks us to think about the hidden and underappreciated facets of our reality. These tales encourage us to interact with the past and the unspoken narratives that influence the present by entertaining as well as thought-provoking us.

Neighborhood Gems- Uncovering Hidden Treasures in Real Estate Hotspots
In the dynamic tapestry of real estate, the true allure often beckons not from the towering edifices or the pulsating heart of the city but rather from the unassuming enclaves of a neighborhood. These hidden treasures, tucked away between the polished images of real estate marketing brochures and the relentless rhythm of urban existence, offer residents a unique, enriching experience that transcends the materialistic. George Bibb, a stalwart in the realm of real estate and Managing Partner and Founder of CF Property Group LLC, understands this allure more than anyone else. His extensive experience, stemming from a distinguished career that began in 2005 at CB Richard Ellis Inc. (CBRE), has honed his ability to recognize and leverage these undiscovered gems. As George Bibb navigates the complexities of the property landscape, he consistently uncovers where the charm of history, the richness of culture, and the essence of authenticity synergize to create true neighborhood gems, often overlooked but irreplaceably valuable.
Picture yourself meandering through avenues lined with verdant trees, their branches gently swaying in the breeze, casting dappled shadows on the quaint residences that flank them. Each of these homes, steeped in the hues of history, softly narrates tales from the past, imbuing the surroundings with a timeless charm. This is the real magic that hidden neighborhood gems offer, where the frenetic pace of life seems to relent, giving way to a sense of tranquility and nostalgia. Every nook and cranny of these less traveled paths unravels a fresh story, a new perspective. These underappreciated pockets of real estate, often eclipsed by their flashier urban counterparts, contribute significantly to the rich fabric of their communities. They are the locales where inhabitants establish enduring bonds, weave shared stories, and collectively contribute to an ever-evolving, communal narrative. George Bibb, a seasoned veteran in the intricate maze of property management and real estate, is an expert at identifying and nurturing these overlooked treasures. His adept maneuvers through the real estate landscape consistently bring to light where history meets charm, where culture brims with richness, and where authenticity hums in every corner. These gems, often evading the public gaze, hold immeasurable value and form the true pulse of a neighborhood's character.
One such gem can be found in the heart of a historical district, where cobblestone streets wind their way through rows of impeccably preserved Victorian homes. Each facade tells a story of the families that have called these houses home for generations. It's a living museum, a testament to the endurance of architectural craftsmanship and the passage of time. In these neighborhoods, a simple evening stroll becomes a journey through history, with the whispers of the past echoing through the rustle of leaves overhead.
Beyond the aesthetic appeal, these gems often house a vibrant tapestry of cultures, creating a unique blend of traditions that enriches the daily lives of those lucky enough to reside within their bounds. Picture a corner bakery where the aroma of freshly baked bread mingles with the laughter of patrons sipping coffee and sharing stories. These local establishments, often family-owned and operated for decades, become the backbone of the community, fostering a sense of belonging that is hard to replicate elsewhere.
In the realm of hidden treasures, it's not uncommon to stumble upon quaint boutiques tucked away in unassuming corners. These are not your generic chain stores but rather establishments curated with care, showcasing the talents of local artisans and entrepreneurs. Exploring these shops feels like embarking on a treasure hunt, where each discovery is a testament to the neighborhood's unique character. From handmade crafts to one-of-a-kind fashion pieces, these stores offer a shopping experience that transcends the transactional and becomes a celebration of individuality.
The influence of these hidden gems in real estate extends far beyond their physical structures. These special locales give life to the neighborhoods, infusing them with a distinct character and vibrancy that is seldom captured in property listings. As aspiring homeowners navigate the maze of the real estate market, their decisions are often swayed not merely by the size of the property or the number of rooms. Rather, they are drawn to the prospect of a unique lifestyle, the chance to be part of a community that is rooted in something more profound than the mere bricks and mortar of a house. Amid the vast expanse of the property landscape, George Bibb stands out as a visionary, adept at spotting and unlocking the potential of these lesser-known treasures.
It's not only about the past but also the promise of the future. Many of these neighborhood gems are nestled in areas undergoing a renaissance, where revitalization efforts breathe new life into forgotten corners. A once-overlooked warehouse may now house a vibrant art gallery, attracting a wave of creativity that transforms the entire community. These transformations are not just physical; they ripple through the social fabric, sparking a renewed sense of pride and camaraderie among residents.
The allure of these hidden treasures extends beyond the individual homes and businesses to the communal spaces that bind the neighborhood together. Parks become not just patches of green but gathering spots for picnics, yoga sessions, and impromptu concerts. Community gardens flourish, not just as places to cultivate plants but as hubs for shared knowledge and the exchange of gardening tips between neighbors. These spaces evolve into extensions of the home, where residents forge connections that extend beyond property lines.
The value of these neighborhood gems is immeasurable, transcending the conventional metrics used to assess real estate. While square footage and property values are undoubtedly crucial, the intangible elements – the sense of community, the cultural richness, the shared history – are the true treasures that make a neighborhood stand out. In the grand tapestry of real estate, these gems are the threads that weave a story of a place, creating a living, breathing narrative that extends far beyond the physical structures.
Hidden gems in real estate profoundly influence neighborhoods far beyond their physical presence. They instill a unique vibrancy and specific character that is seldom represented in property listings. As prospective homeowners sift through the real estate market, their decisions are swayed not merely by the dwelling's size or room count. Instead, they are captivated by the appeal of a distinct lifestyle and the opportunity to belong to a community with roots deeper than the mere confines of a house's bricks and mortar. Amid the vast terrain of the property landscape, George Bibb emerges as an astute visionary with a knack for discovering and unlocking these less-celebrated treasures' potential.

if you’re still doing the character asks!! Maybe Cassie??
Yknow I did clean out the box yesterday and said I wouldn't take more, BUT yknow I will make an executive decision bc I'd like to talk about Cassie !!!
First impression:
I think my first impression was something like "this isn't the voice I was expecting from her... she's nice. oh i guess she's Chinese, hm! neat!" which you know if I'd taken a closer look at her mindswarm poster in the storage room maybe I'd have seen her outfit and got it there but I am not the most observant gal
I also had the impression I'd have to fight the swarm of bees at some point, the one that chases you out of the forest when you get a few for Compton. I guess in a sense you do fight em in the Die-brarian fight but I was imagining a real world combat scenario in the woods 😂
Impression now:
Cassie's a charming lady, I find her power to be one of the most fascinating in the game and she sounds like she's put a lot of time and thought into it. She gives the impression of a very beloved teacher, fitting for her teacher archetype but even outside of that! I'd go so far as to say she's got Ms. Frizzle vibes!! multiple outfits, each themed around a subject, a passionate woman who sets her mind toward seemingly impossible goals. Inspiring!
I also find Cassie to be very relatable, I think out of the psychic 7 her issues are probably the ones that most apply back into my life? Not the details of her life story of course but more just the idea of feeling like if I can just take control of the situation I'm in, organize things just right, that things will be ok. Even though sometimes things can't be organized and will get messy. I can sort of feel like a control freak who wants to fix things even when that's not what's needed or wanted from me, I getcha Cassie. I see you girl.
Favorite moment:
I think the way she made the best of a bad situation in her money laundering days and used the place she was stuck in to publish her own book was extremely cool of her. I feel much joy looking at the last slide of her memory vault where she's chillin' on a reclining chair on a boat headed to new shores.
Idea for a story:
I think exploring some facets of Cassie's life pre-gulch would be neat, like that inbetween spot from leaving China to joining the Psychic 7!! There's an indeterminant amount of time to play around with there, and we know she wrote multiple books, I'd love to hear ideas for what they could be about.
Overall it would also be nice to just see more art and stories about her in general! I feel like she's the most underappreciated member of the psychic 7 based on the fan content I've seen over the last 6 months. Give Cassie some more love my dudes.
Unpopular opinion:
I found Cassie's Collection to be more overstimulating than Psi-King's Sensorium. I think it was a combination of all the muted, warm colors making the books and shelves feel like these endless walls of information - and some of the sound design. The inky rails you grind down from each clue location in the fanny flats area always made my skin crawl a little, it's very goopy and slimy o_o
It was also probably the level I had the most platforming trouble with - though I'll admit that could be from my keyboard set up. I constantly struggled to get the wall jump to work in my playthrough, which made some of the book maze segments frustrating.
Overall it made Cassie's Collection one of my least favorite mind levels, even though by virtue of the game's quality that still means it's a pretty damn beautifully designed location.
Favorite relationship:
Cassie and Compton are obviously very sweet, there's something very heartening and refreshing about their relationship being presented in a way that makes it clear it's both 1) as important as the romantic relationships but also 2) not a romantic relationship itself. Ford/Lucy and Bob/Helmut are so romantically charged that it can be used as a good comparison point to show Cassie and Compton are over here hugging and giggling but it's still obviously platonic besties, and it's nice!
Favorite headcanon:
Cassie picked out her own name bc of her love of the stars/mythology.
Cassie 🤝 Helmut autistic trans folk picking a new name based on their special interest club

mbs bc im predictable <3 and then ted lasso bc why not
TMBS
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most): Garrison. I know, I know, but her potential, her madness, her alluded to but never fully explained backstory... she’s a crazy little maniac like me’s favourite kinda character because I can say any nonsense about her and nobody can say I’m wrong. she’s an ex astronaut and was President of Chile and cannot return to the state of Texas because she committed a large fraud scam where she pretended to be the new Virgin Mary. all of this is true
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): oh I don’t really have one??? none of them make me want to kill them bc they’re so cute but Constance truly is The Most Shaped Of All Time
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): Sticky!!! He’s so good and he tries so hard and I think a little cringe arc is necessary for young teenagers. but instead of getting into MCR and making niche memes he nearly helped take over the world. utterly underappreciated he deserves more
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week): already said Garrison so, if not her, Jackson and Jillson!!!!! can you tell I like the terrible ones as much as I like the really good ones? they’re just ridiculous. trashing their headmaster’s twin for being Ugly and Lame as they compliment him when they’re identical twins. idiots i love them
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): oh controversial???? I can’t think of any problematic fav I haven’t mentioned but like as much as I love her I think we need to acknowledge Martina is a little meow meow. her main hobby is tetherball. she had a total of 0 (zero) friends before Kate and upon making 1 (one) friend, she felted her a keychain, something that would have taken hours. She talks to herself like she’s the main in a spy show but isn’t aware she’s literally a secondary/tertiary character in a spy show happening around her
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason): Jefferson. gonna put him in a little maze and watch him stay lost for years. he started next to the door.
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell): oh, Curtain, duh. most terrible man of all time, needs a hug and a punch, simultaneously
Ted Lasso
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most): okay usually it’s Rebecca but since having spiralled violently into OT3 land, I’ve been thinking about Jamie a lot. pspspspsp football boy let me understand you
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): PHEOBE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let me adopt her I promise I’ll be a good babysitter or something she’s perfect. me 🤝🏻 Rebecca = having the mum instinct fired up by seeing her
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): listen. I know he got more screentime. I know he’s getting a bigger role. But I love Sam so so so much and I want to see him separately from Rebecca’s story, what he and the boys get up to when they’re hanging out. if he’s not underrated enough, then Isaac. king shit always let’s fight them ghosts
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week): TRENT!!! CRIMM!!!!! THE!!!!!!!!!!! INDEPENDENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): Nate. if everybody else gets redemption arcs, so does he. and while his actions last season were nothing short of utterly appalling, he has been neglected and not genuinely cared for beforehand, so him being a total ass makes sense to me. getting ragged on by high paid footballers while you fix their kit and polish their boots, only for literally nobody to truly acknowledge the damage they did to you over years... no wonder you’d end up that way
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason): I can’t torment any of them! except Rupert. he can die for forever
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell): HEY RUPERT FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK Y

dosjmpred for blorbo game!! :D
ah ofc
Blorbo (favorite character, character i think about a lot) : Samuel, he’s just a dude trying his best and helping how he can and i just have many feelings about him in his little boat.
scrunkly (character who is very cute) : there aren’t a lot of dh characters that come within a mile of cute but dh1 emily is adorable.
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/ underappreciated fave) : idk if i have any (ill be honest there aren’t any underappreciated characters i’ve seen although that might be partly cos of the lab)
glup shitto(obscure fave/ character with v little screen time that i love anyways) : im gonna say vasco, love that poor little burnt chicken nugget man.
poor little meow meow (problematic/controversial/pathetic fave): sokolov, i have something of a soft spot for artist characters generally, even if he did some not so morally good stuff.
horse plinko (character i would torment for fun) : jindosh, it’s what he gets for making me go though that hell maze to get sokolov. also for being annoying.
eeby deeby (character i would send to superhell): hiram. it’s what he deserves.

also bloodborne if you feel up for it 👍
BLOODBORNE ok im going to scream this was very difficult a) i like all the characters b) they basically have no personality you have to scrape lore off the floor with a trowel
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most)
Either Father Gascoigne or The Bloody Crow of Cainhurst. Gascoigne probably because he has a discernible backstory and his thing about accidentally killing his family while blooddrunk was very upsetting. His voice is nice too. I love his boss theme and how he transforms. Yharnam is my favourite area in the game and to me he’s The Yharnam Boss besides the cleric beast but he’s not a ‘true boss’ or whatever. OHH how you can play the music box to remind him of his humanity and he staggers and yells in pain he is SO werewolfy its great hes so so great. When you first see him hes chopping up bodies in a graveyard and then you fight him among the graves really cool
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped)
Cleric beast <3 love that guy. The chapel dweller too!! I love him so much he’s so nice
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)
Djura. His morals and ethics are sound. He’s genuinely a good person with a good heart and tbh we ARE in the wrong and he SHOULD kill us. Wish I’d known you could befriend him :/ he’s so right though the beasts were human and i shouldnt hunt them they didnt get a choice in the transformation. I know from the comments on his wiki page he’s almost universally hated or called stupid but dont worry djura i like you
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week)
bloody crow of cainhurst!!!!! You can go through an entire run and never meet him. He’s so compelling because he makes no sense narratively. Wears the crowfeather garb and calls himself a crow but eileen is the only crow (hunter of hunters) and also wears a cainhurst set and uses cainhurst weapons but all the vilebloods were killed. Queen vileblood says she’s the only living cainhurst vileblood. Who is this guy. His fight was phenomenal
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave)
MICOLASH. Stupid stupid man. Kills his body puts his brain in the dream. Boss fight is him running around a maze screaming and babbling. You kill him and he realises his body is dead and has a breakdown. Love him so much genuinely got upset when I had to kill him
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason)
Gehrman, Laurence, Ludwig, and anyone else directly involved in the creation of the healing church and the distribution of blood. These guys gave out the blood and encouraged its use then killed the people who had turned into beasts like fellas.. could you explain to me what exactly the blood does
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell)
All of them. Every single one of them. Goodbye yharnam

Mid-year Fic Round-up
Tagged by @miazeklos - thank you! This looks fun! x3
Total word count: 759.397... we’re only half-way through the year and I wrote over 3/4 of a million words. It’s official. I need a life.
Fandoms written in:
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Shadowhunters
Voltron: Legendary Defender
Rise of the Guardians
How to Train Your Dragon
Tangled
Brave
Moana
Big Hero 6
Marvel Cinematic Universe: Avengers
Vampire Academy
Teen Wolf
Prince of Stride
Detective Conan
Maze Runner
Imposters
Star Wars
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected? MORE WHAT THE FUCK HOW AM I THIS CLOSE TO A MILLION WORDS ALREADY. I AM SHOOK. I wrote 97 fics this year already and we’re only six months into the year! Ninety-seven fics!
What’s your own favorite story of the year? Uuuh... Gotta say, that has to be “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful”. I know only one chapter has been posted so far, but good lords I am enjoying this story so much and I have written a liiittle ahead already that I also love?
Did you take any writing risks this year? I mean, I dipped my toes in a total of five new fandoms and I always do consider that risky. You never know what the fandom is like if you’re new.
Do you have any fanfic or profit goals for the new year? Uhm, continue the way it’s been going so far, I guess?
Best story of the year? My best? I don’t really see how that differs from favorite. Well, at least not in this case. Because it’ll be a very slow slow-burn and I’ll get to explore the characters and their dynamics beyond romance, far beyond, have the team-building and fixing all the bugs that have been messing with me in the MCU. I do think that it’ll turn out to be one of my best fics.
Most popular story of the year? How do you... measure that? No, wait, never mind. Whether I sort the stats by Kudos, Comment Threads, Bookmarks or Subscriptions, it’s the same story coming out on top - “Percy and the Ghost King of Summers High”. So I think it’s a safe bet to say that is my most popular story of the year.
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Most underappreciated...? *frowns* I dunno. Really.
Most fun story to write: I am super intensely boring, but for the third time I gotta say “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful”. I haven’t had this much fun with a fanfiction in... a while.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Huh. Uhm. Guess I’m drawing another blank... Would it be super bad if I said “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful” again...? Because characters like Sif, Valkyrie, Jane Foster, Sharon Carter and Hope van Dyne they’re... pathetically underused by the MCU and fulfill more of a Love Interest role or a Kick-Ass Female role without much beyond that and mostly are used to further the male lead, so I have always been rather meh about their canon versions, but actually getting to write them? Giving them dynamics beyond being the hardened badass or the love-interest (or... both...), giving them friendships and all is so much fun that I have actually grown really fond of those characters I was just meh about. But if you remove them from their male lead’s plotline and give them an own agenda? Sheeesh, they’re fun.
Most unintentionally telling story: Mh... Most likely “Percy and the Ghost King of Summers High”. I’m always channeling a lot of my own feelings and coping mechanisms into this when writing about Percy’s self-harm.
Biggest disappointment: All the fandoms I haven’t written for, I guess. I wish I had more to contribute to many of the fandoms. Or I watched shows that I’d like to write for, but lack either motivation or ideas.
Biggest surprise: Yeah no, tumblr. Like. That so many people willingly followed me here, being interested in me beyond the fics I write, I guess? I really never expected that when I got this account last year. *laughs sheepishly*
Tagging: Whoooever wants to do it! ;)
