There were some really pretty moments in 2023 and giffing them was so much fun. Working with the right coloring to make the scenes pop and to be satisfied with the result was so much fun (and some time a little bit frustrating!).

The following list is not complete, but those are the most visually stunning moments for me, for different reasons.

We start the list with a show I loved to look at but I didn't like to watch it that much after the first episodes:

Chains Of Heart

The cinematography was breathtaking! The coloring was beautiful and I had so much fun making my sets for every week. The story... well that is another story. Chains of heart brought us many beautiful, visually pleasing moments and I remember loving to gif this scene. I enjoy finding moments in series I want to put into a set. And this was one I totally fell in love with.

Next is part of a show I really hope we get some more stunning scenes in the future:

The Sign

Look at this beauty! This is art. This is so fucking beautiful and stunning! My jaw dropped! The coloring, the reds, it is just majestic! It looks so surreal and yet so cool! I am in love with the visuals of this show. There were so many more scenes, but this stood out to me!

And on we go with a series that left us all in pieces at times and also that flashed us with one of the best reunions ever:

The Eighth Sense

The coloring in this scene was so gorgeous (yes, for gifmaking really shitty, because some parts are overcolored and some are a little bit bland)! I was so excited for this reunion. The music, the whole feeling, the waiting, the happiness, just everything was so fucking perfect! And I do love myself a good little kissing scene. And this is one of my most favorite scenes. Visually just one of the most beautiful scenes ever!

And sometimes I am a simple girl and think a fish tank, some goldfish and a smiling Jimmy is stunning and visual perfection.

Last Twilight

This scene was so cute and so beautiful and yes, I might be biased because I am in love with Mhok and every moment of him looking at Day is visually stunning, but this scene... It is so soft and I know I will go back there from time to time. It was a good cinematic choice and I applause the creators for all these visual beautiful choices!

I was lying on the floor, gasping for air and drooling after this scene. I needed to pause the series and rewatch it immediately. Visually one of the most stunning moments I saw 2023 on my screen!

How solid they feel, how safe, when you sit between them on the beach on a hot summer day, as you sit between them to watch a movie on a cold winter night, when they wrap around you, limbs intertwined, as he helps you find sleep at night.

You realised, you remembered, the first time ever he made you come, you were riding his thighs. 

You realised, you remembered, his broad, solid body, stepping out of the shower, water dripping down the sturdy muscles of his legs, and that oddly shaped birthmark on his inner-thigh, standing out in a dark shade of brown, that birthmark is all you can see, now.

Ok! Your fox and the dog au!!! I love it and I’m obsessed. I have thoughts. I don’t know how quite word it but I’m gonna try my best. If I’ve connected the dots wrong…my bad.

First of all I love it. Like I don’t know much about it but I’m hooked. So what I’m gathering so far is the Mirzam is the fox. And I think the fox is Felix. Which is so interesting.

And the fox is based on illusions. I find this really interesting for 2 points. (I’m pretty sure you picked the name deliberately but if you didn’t it’s one hell of coincidence.)

1) Mirzam is an Arabic name roughly translating to ‘the Herald’ so like a guiding light. And the fox is based on illusions. Which tends to imply deceit. So I love that juxtaposition!!

Also 2) it pairs well with the dog miraculous!!! Mirzam is the second brightest star in Canis Major. Which like. Not only is there the dog miraculous but like implies that Mirzam will not shine as bright as Sirius (which I believe is the name of the miraculous holder of the dog [which ahhhhhh Sirius is the brightest star in Canis Major!!]) or that Mirzam will stick to the shadows while being a guiding light!! And like Mirzam will guide Sirius. (Or at least that what I’m extrapolating)

Anyway I just saw the name Mirzam and I was like ooh Arabic name got excited and kind of word vomited so if not very coherent that’s why.

Favorite shows to gif

All of them 😅 I love the shows I gif. If I don't like the show, I don't gif it (most of the times, sometimes I just don't have time for all the shows). You have to take your time and sometimes watch at scenes and faces and special moments multiple times over and over again. It is a good hint that I lose interest in a show when I stop giffing it ��

But of course I have my favorites. Without any particular rating here are my first top five shows to gif this year (there is another ask, so I can use that one to have a top ten in the end hehehe).

Starting the list, we have one of the best series of this year... well, I guess I could say that about most of them. It was one of those series that felt really mature and @bengiyo calls it a gay family drama, which I love and it is so fitting:

Moonlight Chicken

Giffing this show was really challenging. Either it was dark, the colors very really intense or it had an orange/brown filter on it... finding the right coloring was very difficult from time to time. But it felt so good whenever I found a coloring I liked. And giffing EarthMix is always a pleasure, so... yeah I really liked to make sets of this show.

And off we go to number two, a show some liked, some disliked and some of us loved and we can't stop talking about it:

Wedding Plan

I loved the moments Lom and Namnuea shared on screen. Those two had a really great presence and chemistry and it was fun to catch those sweet and sometimes horny moments. And perhaps I just needed an excuse to look at Lom for a totally healthy amount of times.

Number three brings us to another show I think is one of the best ones this year:

Last Twilight

Yeah, it could also be on this list because I have a huge crush on Mhok. But all jokes aside, this series came really unexpected for me. The trailer was okayish and I liked Vice Versa, but I didn't have any expectations for Last Twilight. The first episode was good and I loved the Little Prince reference, so I was kinda hooked and then Mhok started to look at Day as if he was his whole universe and I was gone. I was just in love with him falling in love with Day and now I love him being in love with Day and overall I just love him. I love giffing this man looking at this most precious person. It makes me just so fucking happy! Gosh I could look at those gifs for hours...

Okay, but let's move on.

The next show might not be a good show and definitely not one of my favorite watches, plotwise, this year. The cinematography however was something else:

Chains Of Heart

The coloring of this show was insane and it loved it greens and reds. I enjoyed watching this series, even though the plot was not good. It was one of the shows I giffed no particular scene (except one) and instead made sets of my favorite moments of each episode. And it was so much fun to highlight the colors. Really, really good coloring and really really bad plot...

Last, but not least we have a show some people didn't watch because they thought it wasn't bl but a strong bromance. But the series taught us all wrong with some kisses on the cheek and lube and really obvious hints and unleashed leads.

Stay With Me

It is one of my favorite shows this year, yes. And those two were in love and living together like a married couple, doing things a married couple would do. They were unhinged and I had so much fun with it. Even though most of the times they lived a simple and poor life, this house was so warm and colorful and cosy and I loved making gifs from it. I hope there is a second season because this time I need closure!
