Broken picture frames surrounding her younger self, after her father closed the door for the last time, he never came back, little pieces of glass in the floor of her bedroom when she found out what he had done, Emily destroyed the only family portrait the three of them together had, a Christman gift from her late grandmother, whom gave her the picture, because it was a day of remembrance, the day everything around her would change. - It’s from Trying to change (nobody said it had to be for the better) Still not posted but will be soon

A little paragraph from Exile, you can find it on my masterlist if you are courteous about how the fic goes. 

Those unsaid 'I love you’s' made her have a difficult time sleeping since she came back. Because what they once had finished long ago. That was what she told herself after the first night JJ and her spent in Paris, that was what she repeated herself after the last kiss they shared before JJ had to leave. At her front door, like they were just finishing a date, it wasn't quick. Emily likes to think that they both lingered a little, mouths still pressed against each other before JJ abruptly pulled back and left.

some trivia for the devil in the dark which you may already know: william shatner apparently found out his father had died and decided to keep filming the episode while he was waiting for his flight back home, you were absolutely right that they're being sweet to each other because irl leonard nimoy is trying to support him silently. there's some behind the scenes chatter from the episode I heard one time on youtube (and tragically can't find again) where you can hear them talking about it

i have heard this but i bet a lot of others haven't! shatner talks about it in one of his books (star trek memories) that i used to own but have since lost so i can't get any direct quotes :( i believe he said it was his favorite episode to film because of how leonard made him laugh between takes. thank you so so much for reminding me of this sweet little bit of history <3 i had forgotten which episode it was and never considered that it would show in their performances... time for a rewatch!

star *hugs* sorry for the late late response. these kind of asks make me think and i wanted to have a proper answer overall because you deserve a good answer. thank you for sending it <3

i dont even know if it will be a proper answer. i hope it is. but this title made me think about college phumpeem au going to a party. they don't know each other, they meet at this party, and both are a bit tipsy, both a bit giggly, both interested and curious.

and there's this vivid image of peem perched on a table outside, talking about art, and phum trying to impress him and puffing his chest and saying that he draws a lil too. and peem is all smiles and raised eyebrows and he huffs "yeah? well, show me." and phum is like what? now? but peem only nods and takes out a pen from god knows where and hands it.

"c'mon, draw a doodle."

phum laughs, "where?"

peem shrugs, but phum's lights flicker in his mind, and he eyes the holes in peem's jeans, especially the big one on his upper thigh. so he just leans over peem's lap and starts to draw stupid doodles on his skin there, unaware of the big blush covering peem's cheeks, the small shivers from where the pen tickles his skin. peem is honestly /floored/ because he has this very handsome man hovering over him, drawing on his skin and grinning so cheekily up at him as he declares 'done!"

just. just soft images of peem bursting into a cute laugh when he sees the doodle and phum explains that its them holding hands but it's so badly done that it just seems like to blobs of ink connected in the middle.

(they continue to talk and laugh until one of them is escorted home because they are too drunk- probably peem. and then peem wakes up next morning and he's so mad with himself because ??? why didn't he ask for a mf number? all he got was a wobbly doodle on his thigh. now how is he gonna find the artist who put it there? but then he goes to shower and sees that much lower, where it was probably hidden by the jeans, is a scribbled phone number and a 'call me, pretty.' peem showers with the biggest grin on his face.)

First, I wanna wish you safe travels to wherever you're headed! Your blog really brightens up my day whenever I see you've made a new post. Can't wait for more, Binah content soothes the soul.

What if you traveled through The City with Binah, seeing the different districts that you yourself had never experienced due to being a born-and-raised L Corp feather?

you've always been curious about the rest of the City, if quite wary due to being aware of your relatively sheltered life- the only district you've ever been to is District 12, both living there and working at L Corp. it's all you ever expected to see, really. working as an employee for a Wing doesn't often make much money, and you refuse to take a WARP train. no reason, other than a sickening lurch in your gut whenever you consider it, so travel was off the table

until you and Binah had accidentally fallen head over heels for each other, and she promised to take you everywhere once you and she were free from the facility, her dark eyes glinting with some sort of light you hadn't ever seen

weeks turned to months, and months turned to years. the cycle restarted again and again, before everything abruptly snapped and shifted into a Library, and you and Binah remain, different but eternal. it's only when you're living in the Outskirts does your Arbiter- and she loves it when you call her your Arbiter. it gives a sense of warmth to an otherwise cold and callous title- place her hand on your shoulder, murmuring for you to prepare to leave the Library, leave for the first time in years. as a favor, a certain Head Librarian has found a way to allow those who were once human to go outside for some time- and don't worry. she's already arranged transportation, and you can tell by the subtle smug smile on Binah's face that she's very, very pleased with herself

her fingers gently give your hand a soft squeeze, and you step back into the City together
