HELLOOOOOOO FRIEND so i haven't actually gotten around to playing p4au and only know about what i've read on the wiki pages but i DO have opinions on some of the designs and i am very glad to share them, i'll put it under the cut so i can ramble and add reference images :))

SO I DO LIKE THE MITSURU DESIGN... i will say that this outfit isn't what i'd really consider representative of her personal style as it is in my mind which is a tiny bit of a downside BUT damn she does pull it off well, absolutely gorgeous hehehe. and her coat looks very soft.......

p4a akihiko... oh no... so yall probably do not know this but i've actually spoken at length about how i think the fact that they gave him that ugly ass facial hair is EGREGIOUSLY upsetting. he's such a pretty boy, don't do him like that... other than that i dislike the color of his pants and i do truly think he should put a shirt on. i'm sorry akihikers who enjoy that he does not have one. i think it's cringe. get a shirt boy

there's not really much to be said about ken's design. he sure is wearing a gekkoukan uniform. and good for him i suppose. i also think the existence of aged up ken is slightly cursed. like boy you will always be 10 years old to me

junpei looks pretty stupid in this design. it's kinda an eyesore. but perhaps looking pretty stupid is what suits junpei best which is why you could argue they did a great job. i do wish it felt more taken seriously tho. it seems like they are clowning on him purposefully and yes he IS the funnyman of the group but he is more than just that...

can i ask a thing about kabru as an anime-only... it's become kinda obvious at this point that there's a larger explanation for how he behaves that we haven't reached yet, but i was curious specifically in regards to those corpse retrievers that his party came across during their initial introduction. it makes sense that kabru would want to kill them considering their shady dealings, and we know that people in the dungeon can be revived, but his party did throw their bodies in the water afterwards, seemingly so they wouldn't be found and brought back to life? i was kinda waiting for this to be brought up again, but it wasn't...

Sure. The way I see it, the corpse retrievers are a seriously dangerous group playing with other people's lives for profit. Kabru in particular sees this behavior as unforgivable, and looks down on people who treat the dungeon as a "money pit" and not as a deadly threat that needs to be neutralized as soon as possible.

I'll add some visual aid from the manga, since I'm not gonna go hunting for gifs, but I won't include anything past the point we're at in the anime.

This interaction was cut for time, but early in the manga (after the Tentacles chapter), Namari explains the hazards of resurrection to the twins (and the audience):

...which ups the stakes for us during the corpse retriever confrontation, when Kabru says this:

Which shows that the corpse retrievers aren't merely killing people to revive them for profit- already really fucked up- but doing so in such a reckless fashion that they could easily botch the job and end up with corpses unable to be revived. Imagine if this had been Marcille with her trigger-happy explosion spells? They would have bemoaned the lost payday, then probably just looted what was left.

And then their leader tries to rope Kabru in on their murder-for-money scheme, on the guy's own companions, just to get Kabru to keep quiet? Kabru clearly decided these people were too dangerous to live. Before this moment, all Kabru does is say that he's going to report them! He isn't the one who escalates the situation.

And with the threat to report them hanging over their heads like that, I don't think it would have boded well for Kabru's party if they had given the corpse retrievers a chance to be revived and come after them.

Even if they had miraculously decided not to hunt Kabru's party down (which they had already been doing this whole time), they were just going to keep preying on other adventurers, reducing the dungeon's own imported immune system meant to keep the ratio of monsters stable.

Which is not even as bad as it could be.

Making the choice to execute them is harsh, but honestly I can't judge Kabru that much, as a character in a story whose day-to-day includes life-or-death stakes.

In a storytelling sense, it's also helpful to see the way that Kabru is counterbalancing Laios's story: while Laios is journeying through a biological ecosystem and showing us the dungeon as an organism, Kabru shows the audience the human ecosystem that surrounds the dungeon, the political and social machinations working on it, and how these things are just as deadly as monsters. He's a big picture thinker.

When Megatron finally allows himself to enjoy human music, he finds himself especially fond of music that involves the human voice as an instrument, as well as more traditional string and percussion instruments because they're the most alien from the heavy electric and industrial tones of Cybertron. I think he'd be especially fond of Heilung and The HU. Earthspark Megatron especially loves this song:

🦾 A disability headcanon

Megatron suffers from fibromyalgia, triggered from trauma. He's been to every Decepticon medic about his chronic pain, which can flare up so bad it becomes debilitating, only for all of them to respond that there's nothing wrong with his frame. All his readings and tests come back normal, his joints are well-oiled, his pain sensors aren't malfunctioning. Several pieces of medical equipment (and at least one medic) have been destroyed as a result. His healthcare team has him on a cocktail of painkillers throughout the war.

🧸 A headcanon about their childhood

Given that Megs was constructed cold and never got to have a childhood, I headcanon that he age regresses. This utterly mortifies him and he viciously conditions himself to only allow himself to regress in privacy. This is in large part due to Terminus teaching him that if the foreman or even other miners saw him acting like a sparkling he'd be thrown in the smelter. Orion made him feel like he was finally safe enough to regress around someone, but then they have their falling out and the war started and nowhere and no one was safe again. Only Soundwave knows, and he discreetly covers for Megatron just like Terminus did. (Optimus resolves to take Megatron's secret to the grave)

The unknown. Not knowing exactly what's happened, is happening, and will happen fries his nerves like nothing else. Knowledge is his power, his weapon, his shield. To be deprived of his senses would be the worst thing that could happen to him.

Soundwave has a very cold, quiet, dangerous anger. His silence is deafening when he's angry, his stare sharp enough to cut. God forbid you make Soundwave angry, because you will lose something. If you're lucky, you'll lose a part of your body, maybe even your life. If you're unlucky... you'll lose what you treasure most.

Soundwave is genderfluid between agender, voidgender, and wavegender. He's also fond of neopronouns.

see now askdusttale DID answer the question. but they didn't ANSWER the question when asked what dust is like drunk. they just said that dust is the type to drink himself blackout drunk. so that mean i have total freedom on deciding what the mtt are like drunk hehehe (rubs hands together in a villanous way that you would imagine nightmare doing or something idk)

i already have an absolutely hilarious idea for horror and it might just because i'm on the guilt section of his character analysis but i could TOTALLY imagine him being an emotional drunk. like he CRIES. horror sans man known for being incredibly guarded and private with what he feels bawling his eye out. he gets mad he gets sad he does not get happy because horror doesn't have the right to be happy. he is too upset over the fact that he fucking DOOMED all of horrortale because of his selfishness and nothing can stop him from being incredibly vocal about that fact so much so that killer had to tape his mouth shut because he wouldn't stop crying so loud. and then he just silently cries until he passes out from exhaustion. the alcohol has an incredibly strong effect on him because i dont think he would drink regularly plus he definitely hasnt drinken anything in those 7 years of starvation. it hits like a fucking plane crashing into him. or like getting his eye taken out again. either one!

another funny idea i had for killer would be like the alcohol affecting him but he SWEARS that he's still sober. he is very confused when he starts stumbling because wtf he doesnt FEEL drunk??? why is he bumping into walls and tables HELP WHY DOES HE SOUND FUCKING STUPID???? the alcohol is definitely effecting him but he swears he swears he doesn't feel drunk. hes not drunk its just the damn body doing this stupid bullshit!!!! he's still very aware of what's going on and is basically the same as sober but just like. he's wiggly he's wobbly and oh shit he just fell head face first into a tv whoops. he'd also have a high tolerance because just because. he can drink without feeling like shit until he just blacks out mid conversation with someone because his body couldn't take the toll of all the beer or whatever. hilarious idea triglycercule thank you triglycercule i know

dust in the context that we already know that he drinks AND he can fight against the human while like partially drunk.... i feel it would be kinda like a giggly drunk situation. except dust doesn't laugh at anything that's funny he only laughs when someone gets hurt or something. SADISTIC giggly drunk. because i can already imagine a half drunk dust laughing his ass off after killing the human and its a beautiful sight to me.

anyways imagine how it goes when you pair this sadistic giggly drunk with another that wont stop going through the 5 stages of grief and another that keeps on fucking falling over for no reason in his eyes. dream blunt rotation but the blunt is a bottle of vodka. i can already imagine it in my head and its fucking HILARIOUS. horror going on about how he caused the deaths of others and manipulated and tricked papyrus while killer is just trying his best to keep his eyes open because for some reason they won't stop trying to close. he is surprisingly getting frustated. dust has long since lost his voice laughing at this and he's just silent wheezing at everything. also phantom papyrus is only making the laughter worse because he keeps on making rude comments towards horror and killer and only he can hear him and its guffaw inducing. mtt amazing friend group you dont get shit like this anywhere else

The ROKC is a radio show I do with a friend of mine! It follows Nick and Mallory, two grad students in the town of Kullerluk, who soon come to realize that there is Definitely Something Up with the disasters that never stop plaguing their world. There are two main portions to the show:

1.) The horoscopes. Read by Nick each week, the horoscopes seem pretty normal at first, but eventually he shares with the class that he basically blacks out while reading them. They’re usually fairly ominous, and definitely a little prophetic.

2.) The disaster report. Read by Mallory each week, the disaster report details whatever crisis has befallen their town that week, ranging from floods to earthquakes to really dense fog. She usually writes her reports clinically, but every time she reads them she ends up going a liiiiitle off script.

Eventually, they come to realize that their horoscopes and disaster reports are definitely supernaturally attached to the disasters that are happening, and after a lot of arguing back and forth and one minor character death they feel like they’ve maybe figured out exactly what’s going on (they have not).

Aside from that, there’s also the perpetually impassable route 80, Mallory’s one sided beef with local author/film-maker/musician Naomi Beech, and a handful of stupid puns for random places in our fictional town.

That’s like a Very broad overview of what’s going on. My rokc inspo tag is basically anything that I feel I could incorporate in some way to the show, or just has the vibes of it in general! Also some fun quotes from our script for you:

I have Thoughts ™️ about post-presidency Ros, so thank you @irrigone for indulging them! ETA: the snippet referenced in the ask

Rosalind knows all kinds of things about all kinds of people and corps that she shouldn’t from all of Songbird’s time beyond the Blackwall, and after she leaves office, it’s only a matter of time before possession of those secrets becomes dangerous.

We don’t know who her enemies at Militech are/were. While the official story is that she left CEO to run for president, it’s possible that is just an excuse and she was actually ousted, but was still useful enough to run Militech’s “government arm”. So she’s already got enemies at Militech, but either they are outnumbered by her supporters as Militech keeps funding her campaign, or they have no viable alternative which is why they continue to fund her campaign.

Regardless of how Rosalind leaves office — scandal whenever news breaks about her and Songbird and the Blackwall; Militech pulling support; or legitimate election loss by a challenger — because of all the things she knows and her powerful enemies, she will be a target.  Someone will always be looking for her. She might be due lifetime protection from the Secret Service like the real world US government provides, but what good is government protection if the entity behind that protection wants her dead?

In the MILFguard server @awwwokay recently said post-presidency Ros is either in a jail cell or living off the grid, and I agree with that statement fully.

After she leaves office, she will retire to the family estate in New England. We don’t know much about her family except that its wealthy and influential, and rumored to be descendants of the Mayflower. Within a few months, she will be invited to be an ambassador for the new administration to help with some outreach program, and suddenly she will become a distinguished, long-term guest of the NUSA. She would never be officially charged with anything or even told she was being taken into custody. They might pretend it’s for her own benefit, but it’s because she knows too much and can’t be trusted not to use information that could harm the country or Militech, even though I don’t think she would do either except to “save them from themselves”.

If she’s not in custody, she’ll be living the quiet life somewhere. Someone in the server once mentioned the idea of Ros faking her death to get away from everything, and I think that’s perfect in this scenario. Rather than becoming a ward of the state, she would disappear. Because her information isn't just limited to Militech, she would be wearing a lot of different targets, from corpos, governments, and private individuals alike. As I mentioned before, she would receive lifetime Secret Service protection but how can she trust them? Anyone she hasn’t personally vetted would be suspect; hell, even the ones she did hire herself could still be turned. Loyalty in the Cyberpunk world is extremely expensive and very hard to come by. 

Faking her death would be a good way to buy herself some time. It would require people she trusts literally with her life, and I could see her put the plan into motion before she left office. She would still have contacts at that point, and could handpick FIA and FSS agents who are loyal. She would also split the plan up so that no one one person knows what she’s doing. 

I personally love the image of Rosalind as HRC after the 2016 elections, hiking in the woods with people running into her, except it’s somewhere far away from New England and she’s like a cryptid — people say they saw her somewhere but by the time FIA agents arrive they might find witnesses who saw a woman who looked like the former president, but never any clues as to her location.

Someone asked when I'll have a Ros-Mitch-Val OT3 AU. My reaction:

My immediate thought was how the hell do I get Mitch and Ros in a room together? But like all brainworms of hearty stock, it found a little fold in my brain and made itself at home. If I were to have an OT3 AU, it would involve be post-Star ending with Val hearing news of Rosalind's death and not believing it and setting out to find out for herself with Mitch in tow, then once she tracks Rosalind down, convincing her to join a nomad family. From her time in the Marines, I think Ros could adapt quickly to life as a nomad, and the fractured Net could help keep her hidden from people searching for her.

How do you have so many moots??!

Well, I’ve been posting on tumblr for about five months now (that’s crazy, what the heck), and my first moot, the wonderful, fabulous Nico (@thekingofworems), was actually the one who got me to start posting. I was a lurker for a while, but I eventually got on tumblr one day and just found an ask in my inbox saying “ay, the ace to my aro let’s go!” because my bio said “Lily, minor, she/her, aroace” or something to that effect, and Nico had decided to put an ask in my inbox about it. Then I decided to answer the ask and he sent me another one and we had a short, but very nice conversation. Then I decided to make an intro post about who I was and what fandoms I was in and start posting whatever random stuff I wanted and reblogging posts I liked. Then it kinda snowballed from there and I gained a bunch of moots from interacting with people! A few of my early moots are moots themselves, so it was like I was collecting the whole group lol. Tag games helped because I basically saw lists of who was mutuals with my mutuals and I could see who liked the same things as me. Also, just spending way too much time on this app lol.

First of all, HII i love your comic!

And Second of all! What do you MEAN the "vampire hunter" is an "other"??? Was that in the comic? Did i forget about something??? This is very plausible, my memory is horrible. Do we actually know what's his deal? Or was it hinted and perhaps went over my head?? My eyes are wide open, filled with wonder, and ears are listening 👁️👁️

it's not any sort of canon moment you could have picked up on or something you could have missed, don't worry!

That relationship chart is sort of just a little bit of the "what's going on in my head while I'm writing" and a part of that is that to me, I see people like witches and vampire hunters as partially intertwined with the concept of the supernatural. They are human, but they are defined by their relationship to the supernatural, in a way that makes them almost something other than human.

so he is "other" because he's a vampire hunter. Whether this is due to bloodline, his book, some sense he developed or trained, or just a choice he made is up for interpretation, but that's why I marked him as such!

I would also likely mark Eleanor as half other for the same reason!
