MASTERLIST
Grief was a bitch.
A mean, ugly, unwanted bitch that had settled beside Terry as an unwelcomed guest just when he thought that he'd banished it out of his life, never to return. Over two years of joy that he'd fought tooth and nail to maintain came crashing down once grief came strolling into town without warning.
Mike was dead. He knew that. He'd reckoned with it, talked himself through the anniversary of his death once before, sent well-wishes to his aunt every time he could, cried in the shadows, mourned, lashed out, and sat in silence with the knowledge that his little cousin would never come through the door again. Mike wouldn't see another birthday. He wasn't around for the wedding or Christmas. They'd never see another football game together. Mike would never meet Nyla.
That fact came as a sobering realization while Terry watched his only daughter's chest rise and fall as she slept peacefully in her crib for the first time all day. A cold running through her daycare had finally latched on to her fresh immune system, turning his usually jovial baby into a shell of herself. He told his higher-ups that he needed to take the day to care for her in his mother-in-law's stead, but what he really needed was time alone to deal with his uninvited guest.
Leaning over the sturdy walnut railing keeping his little girl safely inside her crib, he watched her with the ghost of a smile on his lips. Mike would've loved her. Terry was sure of it. He'd make his way to Fayetteville at any opportunity and cause havoc, probably irritating Patrice but definitely doting on Nyla in a way that only he could.
Tears that had been fighting to see the world all day pricked Terry's eyes yet again. He almost let them fall but found himself blinking them back once Patrice pushed open the door and poked her head inside.
She smiled despite work wearing her thin and waved with her fingers. "Can I come in, or would that be too much?"
"Of course, you can," he answered, trying to put on a brave face to hide the true turmoil inside.
Seeing her stand there, her bright smile directed at him like he was the sun, moon, and stars, was the first time he'd felt anything other than the weight of regret. He needed her to come into the room.
Tiptoeing, Patrice approached Terry and peered over the crib's railing to look at Nyla. "How was she," she whispered before softly touching her forehead to check for heat. "Doin' any better?"
"A little. I got her to eat and play for a bit before the medicine kicked in. She should be out for the night and good enough to sit with your mom by the ceremony on Monday. But, we'll see."
"Good. Thank you for taking the lead. I know she was happy to have you around." She took a second look at her pride and joy, then focused all her attention on Terry. Worry and sadness had found a home on his brow line as they remained furrowed in thought. She leaned her head on his forearm and looked up at him. "And what about my other baby? How was he today?"
The date wasn't lost on Patrice. She noticed when Terry slowly retreated into himself the week before. She saw him looking at Mike's Instagram when he thought she wasn't paying attention. She heard the conversation with his aunt when he promised to come by and see her the next time he could make it to Baton Rouge, even though she knew that time wasn't coming. Every shift in his demeanor and thousand-yard stare showed that he was reliving a hellish time she couldn't protect him from.
No amount of soothing could pull him out of his rut. But that wouldn't stop her from trying.
Terry continued to stare down at Nyla as he answered. "I'm okay. Not too up, not too down."
"You need anything?" Terry didn't respond with words once he finally tore his eyes away from their daughter to look at Patrice. He only shook his head. "Can I give you a hug at least?"
His first dose of physical affection for the day felt like the wind was gently placed back into his lungs as Patrice pulled him closer by his shoulders. His hands found her waist first, giving the spot a short squeeze before allowing his arms to fully encircle her body.
"I love you. You know that?"
"I know." That was the one thing he was sure of. His heart and mind were splintered into a million pieces, but he knew Patrice was there to help him put each one back in their proper place. His lips found her temple for a lingering kiss as he closed his eyes to ward off the sadness, still trying to take center stage. "I, um…I... didn't have a good day today…" Terry struggled with the words, opening and closing his mouth in hopes that something would come out while Patrice listened to him try to articulate his thoughts. A deep breath and closed eyes helped him settle before he spoke. "I could use some time together. Whatever you have tonight, I'll take it. I know you have to be up early tomorrow, so even an hour is –"
His words were cut short by a simple kiss on his cheek. Patrice pulled back to look at him and flashed a reassuring smile. "Give me a few minutes to get changed, and you have me for however long you need me. I'll stay up late and everything. Dasia will understand if I cancel my hair appointment for tomorrow."
"I don't want you to do that."
"We'll play it by ear," she answered to douse the early flames of a disagreement. "Twenty minutes. You can time me."
Terry nodded in understanding and silently agreed to let Patrice out of his sight when he needed her most. Whether she was gone for 30 seconds or three days, the time away felt slow.
Terry tried and quickly tired of distracting himself in Nyla's nursery before quietly slipping out and taking the trek to wait for Patrice like a lost puppy.
He settled into the plush velvet chair in the corner and sighed with the weight of the world on his shoulders. Closed eyes heightened his sense of hearing, giving him full access to Patrice's singing in the shower.
Mike would've loved the Patrice he heard so much about. He'd call her 'big sis' and annoy her the way little brothers do. They'd argue endlessly but still find time for secret handshakes and inside jokes. He'd finally have someone on his side to pester Terry and receive sound advice from when the going got tough. They may have taken him in as their overgrown first child. They could've worked together to get him on the right path and save his life.
Unfortunately, Terry would never know. The not knowing left the door wide open for sadness to creep back in.
He breathed deep and tried to will grief away with Patrice's voice as a lullaby in the background. And for a moment, it complied. The dark, heavy cloud slipped off his back and down to his feet with every exhale, lightening the weight on his arms and shoulders until he felt close to a Terry who was safe, sound, and far from the troubles of his past.
Mike would want that. He'd like to know what Terry had going on as the last person expected to settle down into a family man. He'd probably poke fun at his older cousin for attending birthing classes and fawning over ruffled outfits in Target when what he knew of Terry was brooding, reserved, and quietly menacing. Mike had seen his cousin kick up dust with the worst of them. Seeing Terry as a man who wouldn't so much as cough too loud if his wife or daughter was around would be a sight.
As grief slowly packed its things and headed for the door, his comfort emerged from the steaming bathroom, looking like a lighthouse in a raging storm.
Patrice's humming paused once she noticed Terry sitting in the corner. "Missed me," she teased, drawing a small, dry chuckle from her husband as she made her way to their dresser. "You could've joined if you wanted."
"That's alright. I know you need your time to decompress.” He gestured toward the garment in her hand. “Need help with that?"
She could've put her clothes on with no assistance, but Patrice knew that Terry wouldn't have asked if he didn't need the distraction. She granted his covert request for her attention by quickly plucking matching pieces from her sleepwear drawer and placing them in his outstretched hands.
They spent time in comfortable silence while he slid soft cotton up her legs and then helped her into her shirt, kissing random spots of exposed skin along the way. "I didn't ask about your day. I'm sorry. I got a lot of…other stuff on my mind. How was work?"
"It was work. Nothing too important. Glad it's the weekend. Two more days, and I get to see my first graduating class of freshmen that I taught. Isn't that crazy? I'm getting old, huh?" She laughed by herself.
Terry avoided eye contact despite his faint smile, preferring to tie the drawstring at her waist in a neat bow like she preferred. "Never old. Only better."
"You're too sweet." Patrice cuddled him close when he was done and rubbed a spot at the nape of his neck to soothe him into closing tired, heavy lids. "I know it's tough, but I promise you'll be okay, babe. The sadness isn't gonna go away, but you'll learn to live with it. You'll learn to make space for all those feelings inside you at once. And I'll be here when you need someone else to hold some of them, too."
Terry sighed. "I'm not tryin' to be a burden for you, P. We have enough going on as is."
"You're not a burden, Terry; you're my husband – my friend."
To be accepted with all of the muddy waters traversing his mind and heart felt like too much to ask for in Terry's mind, especially from someone who'd spent so much time wading through all his bullshit without complaint. He owed her his life, the full weight of his love, until the day God deemed their time together but a beautiful memory forever etched in boxed trinkets and old photos.
He wanted to give her the moon as she stood stroking his pain away with her fingertips but settled for kissing his way up her sternum on the way to her lips.
One day, when other emotions had dwindled, and he was feeling more like himself, Terry would lay his head on Patrice's lap and tell her about the atrocities that had shaped the time before they reacquainted. That day wasn't today, and all he could think of was pouring his gratitude for her graciousness into making sure she was satisfied in the one area he could control.
Shorts that had only been on her body for mere minutes found a new home on the floor alongside her top. Patrice was weightless in Terry's arms as he carried her to their shared bed, his lips attached to hers for needy kisses that felt more like life rafts to keep him above rough waters than affectionate gestures.
Patrice questioning if he was sure about his actions fell on deaf ears, and soon, all of her inquiries became lost whispers in a room swirling with the sounds of desperate lovemaking. Terry left his mark on her neck and chest while he worked himself out of his clothes.
His voice came in gravelly against the shell of her ear. "I fuckin' love you, Treece. Don't ever leave me." He was pleading and caught somewhere between raw desire and tremendous despair. "Please, don't ever leave me."
"I'm not going anywhere, baby," Patrice reassured without hesitation.
Terry left soft kisses and big, salty tears on Patrice's cheeks once their foreheads met. "Please. I need you, Patrice." Grief was back and taunting him in his ear with its partner in crime, Doubt. She'll leave, just like everyone else. You don't deserve her. Lies filled his head with no shut-off valve in sight. The tears turned into sobs he couldn't ignore with breathing techniques or a change in his thought process. "I'm sorry. I just need you. I can't do this by myself. Don't leave."
Patrice quickly cast amorous feelings aside to wrap her arms tight around Terry. "Woah, woah, TJ. I'm here! I'm right here."
Grief was a bitch. Even when he threw his best punch at it, grief always hit Terry back with a haymaker that left him staggering and woozy in defeat.
The moments after his heaving, hyperventilating meltdown became a blur of Patrice's soft-spoken instruction, lavender bubble bath, and candlelight. When he came back from a mental trip to Shelby Springs to live out alternate realities, where he emerged victorious with Mike by his side, he found himself nestled between his wife's legs, surrounded by fresh hot water and scented white foam.
Patrice moved behind him, plastic crinkling as she peeled the back off of something he couldn't see before bringing her wet hands around to his face. "These'll help with the puffiness," she declared like an experienced esthetician informing a client. "I used to use this every other day in grad school. Cry all you need. No one will ever know by morning."
A 'thank you' tried to rise from his throat, but Terry quickly found his voice too hoarse to say anything worth a damn. Patrice didn't mind, though. She was content to press another cold patch underneath his eye before grabbing the shampoo rinse cup resting near the baby monitor at the edge of the tub.
Terry closed his eyes as the warm water washed over his short curls, sitting neatly behind a sharp hairline and tapered sides. His hair glistened under flickering lights provided by small flames in glass components. Patrice used her acrylic nails to work magic against his scalp, turning shampoo into a mountain of suds to cleanse the pain.
"I swear every time my Nana and mama scrubbed my head, I felt like a new person after. One time, I was going through the worst friend breakup I've ever had, and by the time Mommy finished with me, I didn't even know that girl's name. Didn't even matter anymore."
"What happens after the scrub, though? You just…go back to normal?"
Patrice chuckled as she ran another stream of water across his head to start on a second lather. "Hell no. That's where the patches come in." Terry allowed himself his first genuine laugh all day, taking a stone out of grief's stronghold. His fingertips ran back and forth over the wet skin on Patrice's legs as he sat with his eyes closed in a battle for his sanity. They let the quiet ripple of water around them fill the humid air in the room, preferring to enjoy the feel of skin on skin over extraneous conversation until Patrice began running conditioner through each of his thick strands. "I love when you wear your hair like this. The haircuts are nice, but when it's grown out, it reminds me of young you."
"Hot-headed, couldn't buckle down enough to work through being mad at not getting scholarships to still go to college me?" Terry scoffed, finding the notion of a younger, far less polished him being someone worth missing.
Patrice shrugged. "I didn't know that Terry," she confessed. The stories of his anger felt like fables to Patrice. The only Terrence Richmond she'd ever known was sweet as homemade banana pudding after Sunday service and a whip-smart boy with the world at his feet. "My Terry and his little fro was always kind. Always noble and lending a helping hand. And now he's got a baby girl in the other room with a head full of her daddy's curls after she looked like Charles Barkley for three months." Terry smiled at the mention of Nyla and how she'd inherited at least one part of him after taking her mother's entire face. Patrice watched him reach for the monitor and bring it closer to his face for a look at his second favorite girl before she continued. "My Terry is who Mike loved. I never met him, but I know he saw the best in you. We all do, baby."
More silence sat heavy as Terry wiped away fresh tears gathering at his waterline. Of course, they'd see the best in him when he couldn't see the best in himself.
Grief came knocking again with Doubt in tow, but Terry ignored them to slide deeper into the water and rest his heavy head on Patrice's chest before speaking. "Mike and me…we used to get in a lot of trouble at my granny's house."
"Yeah? Two badass kids, huh? Tell me about it."
"One time," he started, already smiling at the memory. "We got her beagle, Satchel, sick because we kept feeding him shrimp out of the gumbo. He threw up all over the back porch, and Mike got so scared that he told on us, thinking we wouldn't get the switch if we were honest."
"Did y'all?"
Terry laughed and nodded. "Wore our asses out. I hated that damn dog for the rest of his life. It wasn't his fault, but I was just a kid."
"You knew better, though."
"Whose side are you on right now?" Terry asked, looking up at Patrice with faux offense on his face.
She giggled back. "Okay, my bad!" A final round of water cascaded down Terry's shoulders and back, washing the ugly soot of regret off of his grief to reveal the love making up its inner parts. Patrice kissed his wet hair and held her lips there even as she spoke. "Can you tell me more about Mike? I wanna know him through you."
The invitation erupted a dormant volcano deep within his Terry's heart.
He told stories of his cousin and their time together until the lavender-scented bubbles evaporated into tepid bath water. Until grief felt more like gratitude for memories made. Until Patrice's stomach ached from laughter. Until the clock struck midnight, and tears started to roll again. Until Patrice had wiped his entire face with her delicate fingertips several times over without a single inkling of exasperation or judgement while they lay face to face beneath cold sheets. And until she finally closed her eyes from exhaustion and turned her back for some shut-eye.
Then, he talked to God. A long list of thank you's emerged from his heart. A thank you for keeping him alive, one for time spent with Mike, one for his daughter, and another for the only person keeping him afloat when all he wanted to do was drown.
Terry looked at Patrice and smiled. Light from the television illuminated her face, highlighting her knitted brow and slight frown as she lay in the throes of a dream he could only imagine was vivid enough to evoke such a clear expression of disgust. The thought alone produced a genuine smile.
Clicking the power button, Terry found himself in complete darkness, fighting for the words to finish his prayer. He sighed and looked back toward Heaven. "She's perfect, God. Even when she isn't. If you never give me anything else, thank you for Patrice."
"Hm?"
Patrice's groggy response to her name being called made Terry roll over on his side to calm her back into sleep. "Nothing, baby," he spoke into her shoulder before pressing a kiss on her skin. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer, earning a content sigh. "I was just praying for you."
She smiled without opening her eyes. "Well, amen to that."
Tears tickled Terry's waterline, this time filled with overwhelming gratitude. A blessing like no other.
"Yeah. Amen to that."

pillow talk.
summary: a last-minute japan trip helps you bond with your boyfriend.
a/n: the things i would let this man to do to me. 🫦
warnings: implied nudity
“wanna go to japan?” you asked, it was a spontaneous trip since your team had just earned a week off after a successful mission.
the boy grinned, “of course.”
it was (usually) difficult to maintain relationships in the agency. however, you two were in love, and now had the opportunity to be alone together for an extended period of time.
——————
“god, i’m exhausted!” the boy dramatically yelled out as he jumped on the bed of the hotel room.
you laughed in response as you sat next to him, his body laying face down into the now-wrinkled sheets.
“cmonnn! you’re no fun.” you said as you shook hyun-jun to get him up.
“we have to take a bath y’know.” you added, being met with him immediately jumping up.
“we, as in— together?” he replied, his signature smirk on his pretty face as he looked at you. it almost convinced you to go along with it.
you playfully slapped his shoulder. “you perv!” you yelled out with a laugh, being met with him letting out a dramatic sigh and another dive into the warm embrace of the bedsheets.
you set your luggage down and after a few minutes, laid next to him, smiling as you did so.
“i might take you up on that offer.” you said, immediately causing the boy to turn to look straight at you.
“seriously?” he asked you, the grin on his face growing every passing second.
you laughed as you nodded, him jumping up and grabbing a towel in response.
you both got into the bathtub, setting the scene with candles, wine, and dimmed lights. with how busy your lives were, it was hard to get those cliché romantic movie-like moments.
“comfy?” your boyfriend asked you, smiling down at you.
“yeah, this is nice,” you replied, returning his smile. you were lying on hyun-jun, his arms wrapped around your waist; the closeness of your bodies made it feel all the more intimate.
“are you okay like that?” you asked, fidgeting around slightly before the boy held you still.
“i’m okay, don’t worry.” hyun-jun reassured you, grinning as he quietly laughed.
you smiled as you took a sip of wine. “i’m glad we’re doing this.” you spoke.
your job was stressful, so relaxing in a different country without any responsibilities was like weight off of your shoulders.
after a moment, hyun-jun spoke again. “i love you, y/n, a lot. it’s refreshing to be here with you. with no worries.”
you smiled at those words, his hand gently encapsulating yours as he used his free hand to gently caress your skin.
he carefully moved your chin up toward him to kiss you, his lips locking onto yours for a few moments before pulling away to simply admire you.
“you’re beautiful.” he mumbled just above a whisper, his face now leaning into the nape of your neck.
“so are you.” you said back, smiling softly as you moved and gave him a soft peck on the lips.
“you flatter me.” hyun-jun joked, you laughing softly alongside him.
a few more moments of comfortable silence, and you both ended up in the large bed of the hotel room.
you laid your head onto hyun-jun’s chest, his hand wandering up and down your bare back as you mindlessly traced shapes onto the soft skin of his abdomen.
this was one of the rare moments where you had nothing to stress about; your focus was only on him, the love of your life.
everything that took you to this current moment was worth it.
after a few moments, hyun-jun broke the silence.
“so— how does five sound?”
“five what?”
“five babies.” he answered, his big grin growing as he looked at you.

(Don't know if just rebbloging will make you see it or if I also need to @burnt-coffeepot to make you see my message)
A bit more than a year ago I was halfway through the final year of my country's equivalent of high school and it was about time to decide what to do afterwards.
I enjoy programming and computer science and as my high school specialized within tech I thought I might as well continue that path. I also had decided that I wanted to study abroad so I had contacted a service that help finding such opportunities.
It was then at that point around a year ago that the service got back to me after talking with potential schools and told me that there was essentially only a single college that fit the description I asked for.
And it didnt fit with what I had imagined.
That almost shock kinda turned me of the idea in its entirety, for a long time I had been quite certain what I wanted to do after high school and suddenly I had absolutely no idea.
Then I found your post.
(Which was pretty lucky as I saw it on my dash after back then only having just recently created my account where I kinda just randomly searched for things I liked and followed the tags that showed up.)
Your post made studying math sound wonderfull. It sounded like a dream, and I wanted in.
I have for a long time liked math, I chose every single extra math course my high school offered but it was seeing your post that made me actually decide to continue studying it.
There has until this point for me been two key points within my math journey, the first was in about third grade when I found the book that transformed math from something I merely was good at to something I enjoy doing, and the second point was seeing your post.
During my resently finished first semester at university there has been multiple times during lectures where I have kinda just stopped and thought "yes I am in the right place, I love it here".
And well @burnt-coffeepot, I just want to sincerely thank you for showing me this path.
(I haven't really used my tumblr account since creating it a year ago so might as well make my first post this significant one :D)
guys i just realized that maybe in 3 to 4 (to 5) years i will have a math degree
and then i may choose to keep studying and get a second one (most likely)
but then i could (if i really am smart enough) get a phd in math
guys i just realized im gonna do math for the rest of my life and this made me really happy for a moment

{ 2 } Fall in love at first sight. ✧. ┊ s.jinwoo x fem!baker!reader
☆ The wind blew gently like a joke, as Jinwoo waited with a slightly discouraged heart in front of the long line of people, waiting for the moss green door to open. It was a bit chilly. This kind of weather made people just want to stay home and lie under a warm blanket, not doing anything. But here he was, waiting for the minute hand of the clock to move to eight and then the owner would flip the CLOSED sign on the glass wall to OPEN, and then, the moss green door would open to let the scent of hot baked goods, even more alluring than the scent of Dior perfume, waft out, making the hungry stomachs under the Seoul sky growl in unison.
☆ He originally didn’t plan on going out today, even though he could withstand the cold thanks to his strong S-rank body, he still didn’t want to go out. But early this morning, his sister Jinah nagged and demanded that he go buy some pastries from a newly opened bakery called Dream. As the best brother in the world, he had no choice but to do as his beloved sister said.
☆ 'A chocolate cake with cream and blueberry jam with strawberries on top.' Jinwoo thought back to the reminder of the cake his sister wanted and sighed. It was still not opening time, he felt a little impatient, he just wanted to buy it quickly and go home. 'Open up, this damn cake shop.'
☆ And, as if to challenge, or tease, the minute hand still slowly moved little by little. The three minutes to reach the threshold seemed as long as a century had passed. Then, at the moment the shopkeeper, who was filled with the smell of cake filling, opened the narrow door, a stream of hungry people immediately rushed into the bakery.
☆ When Jinwoo saw you - the owner of Dream, he knew he is falling in love.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
☆ Since then, whenever he could, he would stop by your bakery and buy some kind of cake. He did so just so he could meet and talk to his lovely bakery owner. And gradually, the two of you became close.
☆ At first, you thought Jinwoo was a model, you meant everything that went into that beautiful figure. Why hadn't the fashion or perfume brands found him yet? That was what you kept wondering, even though he ate more than a model's portion, and that was why he was normal. Or, maybe not normal, not really. Those who were interested in hunters would have recognized Jinwoo immediately, but you were different. You spent most of your time baking. You only happened to watch the news while cleaning up to close the door, and Jinwoo's handsome face was featured in an interview. So when you found out he was an S-rank hunter, you were impressed.
☆ You wonder what makes a notorious and busy hunter like him come to your bakery every day. And when you ask him, he just replies that he really likes the cakes you make. But gradually, you start to guess why. In fact, it’s pretty obvious. But gradually, you start to guess why. In fact, it’s pretty obvious. You notice that every time you look at him, you see him staring at you with a gentle smile, eyes full of admiration. Or you notice that he always cares about you and always finds an opportunity to touch you. All of these things make it impossible for you not to think he likes you.
☆ But if you say you don't have feelings for him, you'd be lying. The way he treats you is different from how he treats others, it makes you feel special. The way he always smiles at you softly and is always so thoughtful makes you feel warm. And that beautiful face and body, how can you resist his charm?
☆ With all that in mind, you decide to confess to him.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
☆ As usual, Jinwoo came to your bakery at 4pm. You brought out a cake box tied with a gray ribbon – the color of Jinwoo’s eyes. Jinwoo opened the box, and was surprised to see a cake that looked like a work of art. The cake was decorated with a heart made of powdered sugar, and in the middle of the heart was a small message: “Will you share the sweet days with me from now on?”
☆ Jinwoo looked up, his eyes sparkling with emotion. You stood before him, your hands still covered in flour, your face red with embarrassment. “I’m not good at talking…” You stuttered, “but I want to say I love you and I want to make you-”
☆ Before you could finish your sentence, he immediately hugged you and kissed you passionately on the lips. You were surprised but quickly closed your eyes and melted into the kiss. The two of you kissed for a while before Jinwoo pulled away, his lips still very close to yours. He looked into your eyes, you can see the happiness in his grey orbs.
"I love you too, [name]."
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
I wrote half of it and then I ran out of ideas :V.
So the ending seems a bit deadpan ._.

TMNT 2007!Raph x Fem!Reader: Make Me (NSFW 18+)
Anonymous asked: This is kind of weird but would you be able to write 2007!Raph x reader where Raph is trying to dominant and gets shy when he finds out y/n is more experienced?
ya'll im such an idiot and I accidentally deleted the anon request who had asked for this. Luckily, I keep all the reqs in a google doc when writing lol. Here goes nothing! Let me know if you enjoyed this :)
NOTE: this is my after dark blog, and you're going to find smut here. 2007 is a more mature version of the turtles, and they are around their early/mid 20s. MINORS DNI. WARNINGS : dirty talk, doggystyle, and missionary
Imagine Raphael getting thrown for a loop the first time you have sex with each other
It’s honestly so sudden, neither of you expecting it to happen the way it did.
Now, Raph has had his fair share of sex. If the turtles had to take a guess, Raph would have the highest body count out of the four of them (Donnie takes the cake for last place, he’s a scaredy-cat).
He vividly remembers women practically throwing themselves onto him while he was The Nightwatcher long ago
I mean, could you blame him? A mysterious man in metal armor with a sexy accent who protects the city?
He felt invisible, being able to be himself and enjoy life the way it was supposed to be lived
In short, Raph here is no stranger to women- he knows what’s got to be done.
When you first met the turtles, it was thanks to a clumsy Mikey during patrol one night who came crashing into your bedroom window.
With some panicked explanations, promises to keep a secret, and to fix a window, bonds were made. Friendship blossomed.
Feelings blossomed.
You seemed to get along well with each and every turtle, however, something about the smug-looking golden-eyed one who didn’t speak much at first had grabbed your attention.
As you began to come down to their home often, you found yourself having more opportunities to interact with the second oldest brother: Raphael. He had this bad-boy aura that had you hooked.
However, it wasn’t what you thought it was.
Raphael constantly teased you, and you constantly did the same back. He had no malicious intent, and neither did you. You had simply piqued each other's interest.
“Hey shorty,” Raph snickers at you trying to reach for something on a high shelf.
“Hey hothead,” You tease back, “How about you use those big muscles of yours to help me instead of standing there and enjoying the show?” His eyes watched your breasts bounce in your shirt as you struggled to reach what you needed.
Oh, and he loved it. That you noticed what his game was, and that you were more than happy to play.
His non stop picking had been his fun way of flirting with you, to which you did the same back. As it went on, a friendly yet flirtatious connection had been made.
Only, a cloud of sexual tension seemed to follow you around every time you interacted with the turtle in red.
There was something about Raphael that got your panties in a twist. As time went on, you found yourself fantasizing about how you’d make your move on him. It seemed that your sexual appetite grew hungrier with each and every scenario you imagined in your head.
You wondered just how Raph was able to get you going.
Unbeknownst to you, Raphael’s reptilian instincts give him a heightened sense of smell.
AKA, you didn’t have to tell him, he knew- no- he could smell how down bad you were for him.
Luckily for him, your human senses weren’t as strong.
He remembered how he tested the waters a bit, trying to see if he was the cause of the smell of arousal coming from your sex. He had to make sure you were actually thinking of him in that way.
Long story short, he was right. One day, he placed his hands on your waist during training, only for his nostrils to be hugged with your excitement in between your legs.
And thus, the more he flirted with you, the more he wanted- no- needed you.
It seemed the feeling was mutual, yet you both went about your days as normal.
Until one day, you said two words that sent Raph over the edge.
Brace yourself, Y/n.
-------
“Ya ain’t gonna take me down that easily, shorty.” Your eyes follow Raph’s figure, watching as he circles you around the dojo. Since the streets have been getting pretty bad, Raphael took it upon himself to teach you a few things just in case.
You could almost feel your heart pounding out of your chest. Being pushed to your limits, you weren’t giving up so quickly, either. You could see Raph looking you up and down, his amber eyes stopping right at your chest. You made a good choice to wear a tight tank top today, huh?
Quickly, his eyes shoot back up to look at your own, and suddenly, he’s studying you to see what his next move could be.
“I bet money you can’t take me down this time.” You smirk, albeit you were talking out of your ass; seeing Raph’s devious smile got you going.
“Oh, so now we’re delusional?” The turtle chuckles as he gets in a fighting stance, “Looks cute on ya, Y/n.” Raph closes the space between you both inch by inch, and suddenly, his fists are flying toward you.
He was ready to see if you remembered what you practiced.
You quickly dodge his first hit, brushing the loose hair out of your eyes, “I told you,” Your knees bend, and Raphs last punches don’t connect, giving you the upper hand while he’s distracted. “I pay,” with a sweep of your left leg, you were able to catch Raph off balance. “Attention!” To finish, you hop on his shell from behind, touching the pressure point on his neck with two fingers (thanks, Master Splinter!) He easily topples over, and you pin his arm behind him as you straddle the back of his rough shell.
Okay, maybe Raphael underestimated you a bit. He had no idea where you’d learn pressure points from, he didn’t teach you those.
Seemingly defeated, the turtle under you sighs, his breathing becoming regular and less shallow as his heart rate goes down.
“Did Leo teach ya that?” He huffs, straining under your control. A prideful smile is formed with your lips.
“Nope, Master Splinter did.” Why would Leo teach you something like that, anyway? I mean, it wasn’t like he trained you alone. It was always as a group with their sensei. Leonardo taught you safer tricks that didn’t require you to get so close to your opponent.
You were enjoying your little victory, and what kind of victory would it be if you didn’t rub it in Raph’s face?
“Did I really beat Mister Hothead?” You teased the turtle under you, whose annoyed eyes seemed to burn into your skin for you to set him free.
“Aigh’t, ya got me, now, get off.” Raphael’s rough accent was music to your ears, and you couldn’t imagine letting this opportunity go to show him what you were made of. Your grip on his arm becomes tighter, and you lower your lips to his exposed neck.
What’s the point of teasing the big teddy bear if some flirting isn’t involved, right?
“Make me.”
Suddenly, Raphael stops struggling and falls silent. You follow suit, alleviating the pressure you put on his body while on top, letting your guard down in confusion. Before you can ask what was going on, you feel yourself being flipped over, with your back hitting the hardwood floor and Raph’s face centimeters away from your own. Your arms are pinned at the top of your head by one of his hands, while the other is placed under your chin.
“Come again?” He purrs, eyes scanning for any sign of you wanting him to stop. But, you don’t. In fact, you wanted him to keep going.
“I said, ‘Make me.” You could feel the heat between your legs begin to rise, and your heart practically beating out of your chest. You watched as golden eyes behind a red mask looked into your own before his free hand moved toward your bra strap.
“Ya think ya so innocent, dontcha?” You could almost jump out of your skin from the feeling of butterflies invading your stomach. It felt electrifying with every touch the turtle gave you.
“Ya think I don’ know?” His face dives into your neck, taking a slow lick before suckling in a spot that causes your body to shiver in desire. “I can smell ya, I know that ya been wantin’ this.” You wished he would let go of your hands to give you free will, eager to take the lead and surprise him.
It wasn’t long until your soft whimpers caused a throbbing erection to emerge, and when his hand let go of your wrists bound at the top of your head, your fingers found their way to his biceps, giving them a light squeeze.
“Like you haven’t been wanting it, too” You challenged, trying to keep all composure. Raph comes up from working on your neck, his eyes darting to your lips that continue to tease him even though he has the upper hand. He couldn’t wait to shut you up.
He did just that. Before you could think of something slick to say, his green lips crashed on yours, not coming up for air once. It seemed all the pent-up sexual frustration was being let out in this very moment in the middle of the dojo.
Speaking of, it’s amazing how nobody came in by now.
“I’ll take you right here,” You knew he would. Name a time or place and Raph would be down. You could feel tingles up and down your body from the friction, your nipples hardening from the arousal, and Raph's tongue intertwining with your own.
It was a long time coming, and before you know it, Raph’s three-pronged hand moves one of your thighs over, only for them to rub circles around your clothed clit. Now sensitive, you wondered just how you could get Raph crumbling beneath you. “You’d like that, won’t ya?” Oh, he knew exactly what the fuck he was doing. Every sentence he said in between kisses drove you up the wall, the strong desire to ride him until the wheels fell off seemed to take over, and you knew you had to prove yourself. Raphael has no idea who he’s messing with.
His fingers then move to the hem of your leggings, dropping the hint he wants them off.
“Make sure it's locked, big guy.” Your voice hoarse from a dry throat. Looking at you one last time, Raph makes the conscious decision to listen to you. Sure, he could take you to his room and get it on, but he couldn’t wait. He wanted you now. As he makes his way to lock the dojo, you undress behind him, tank and bottoms discarded in a pile off to the side. Your red bra teasing the red-banded turtle, almost begging him to snap it off you. But before he could even think about doing so, he watched you motion for him to come over sitting on the workout bench by the dumbbells.
“My turn,” Your body naturally gravitates toward Raphael’s sweet spots when he sits beside you. Before he can take control, you straddle his waist before he can go anywhere. Arms around his neck, your back arches in pleasure as his hands go up and down your exposed sides, heating you up as he does so. Now, Raphael didn’t expect you to take control of him that easily. If anything, he didn’t think he had it in you. But, here you were, caressing his body and grinding yourself on his throbbing cock, a wave of sinful thoughts making up his mind as he felt the pre-cum leaking onto his thigh. You must’ve noticed, because you dip a finger in the sticky substance, placing it in your mouth as the turtle’s cheeks heated up from watching you taste him.
“Sweet,” You teased, giggling at the sight of a shy yet enticed Raphael.
You really knew what you were doing.
But, shyness aside from not being the only experienced one, he’s ready to show you just what you’re in for. With the help from you, his erection springs up after a swift movement of his lower plastron. His dick stood up with pride, begging for warmth as it throbbed once exposed to the cold air. Once in your sight, it had your own sex wanting to welcome it home. Raphael could smell it, how your pussy soaked your panties, and he couldn’t wait to take them off and make you his.
Picking you up and laying you on the hardwood floor, you unclip your bra as Raph’s fingers find the band of your panties, throwing them to God knows where in the dojo. You’ll get them later. They didn’t matter right now. What mattered was the way Raph admired your excitement, watching you let out a submissive moan as he dipped his head in to taste you.
“Sweet,” He comments huskily, words vibrating your cunt that sends a signal to your brain to ask for more. You didn’t just want his tongue, you wanted him inside of you.
“Stop teasing~” You murmur, your chest heaving after each and every lick your sensitive bud takes. It was enough to get your cavern dripping, and Raphael wasted no time in flipping you over onto your stomach and getting your ass up in the air, arching your back as his hands gripped your hips. You could feel his tip pressing against your tight hole, and as he took your wrists to hold them behind your back, he slowly inserted himself, your pussy squeezing him tight as he stretched you out to the max. He wanted to go crazy, but he knew he needed you to adjust before doing so.
Your body aching for more decides to meet him halfway, your ass coming into contact with his plastron in an instant, swallowing him whole. He was so big, and he knew it, too. Your loud moan after taking him all in caused Raph to hesitate.
“Not too loud, pretty.” His hand then frees your arms, and almost immediately you clasp a hand onto your mouth, muffling all sounds you were making. Once Raph got into the swing, his wild side came out. Before he knew it, he was thrusting in and out of you at an animalistic speed. He was a rough lover, and you loved every second of it. His praises on how good you felt and how wet you were caused shivers throughout your body and mind. The sound of skin slapping against skin was enough for you to be in a trance. You could feel how his curved dick hit you in the right spot deep in your cavern, pressing against your G-spot. How his hands continuously guided your hips and ass to back up against his plastron, and he smirked as he observed you crumble beneath him. You were practically biting your lip to keep yourself from shrieking in pleasure. The last thing you needed was anyone knocking and destroying your high.
“You’ve always wanted me, huh?” “Fuck, you’re so tight,” All of his remarks whispered into your ear as his hand moved toward your neck, choking you lightly. Your hands went over his own, begging for his grip to tighten. He stopped for a moment, then gave into your noiseless demand.
“Didn’t take ya as a freak, Y/n,” He chuckles, watching you turn around to face him. If the sound wasn’t enough, your flushed, fucked-out face was enough to drive him wild.
He was close, but he couldn’t finish like this. He needed to see all of you. He needed you facing him, tits bouncing with every thrust. His hand around your windpipe and your eyes rolling back into your skull.
So as he unexpectedly stops, your legs begin to shake. “W-wha?” You strain your back, trying to get relief. It isn’t until Raph uses his strength to flip you over as if you weighed nothing that you knew what was about to happen.
He wasn’t done, he was just getting started.
“I wanna see ya beggin’ fa me, got it?” Raph grips his member, placing it in between your wet folds as he churrs, locking eyes with you to make sure you understood the assignment.
“Y-yes.” You were hypnotized by Raph. How his girth was enough to stretch you out, and was long enough to hit places you didn’t think were possible. A smirk plays along his lips, and you feel his tip at your entrance once again. He leans in, lips crashing into yours before you feel him fill you up once more. Only this time, he was hitting your sweet spot even better. You felt yourself nearing the top of the hill, waiting for just the right thrust to send you over the top and back down again.
“Tell me how much ya wanted me, baby,” You see Raph’s focused look as his hands gripped your cupped breasts, ripping them clean off before tossing them to the side. He plays with your hardened bud, alternating from the left and the right.
“Shit.. a-a lot! I wanted this so bad, Raph~” Your sweet voice had created the music he wanted to hear, and you felt him slam into you harder. It wasn’t until his hand left your breasts and moved down to your swollen clit. Looking up at you, then back down at your sex, he gives you a smirk before getting to work. “Oh! Fuck, Raph!” His finger quickly flicking your clit like it was a bell, making it ring in ways that caused you to reach the top of the hill.
“Fuck, please,” Your breathy moans became uneven, and your body came millimeters away from your well-needed orgasm, “Don’t fucking stop,” Your words became slurred and sloppy, and Raphael wouldn’t want to have it any other way. “You’re doing so good, Raph, fuck.” You were copping pleas, just like he wanted. Your sweet voice interrupted by unsolicited wonton moans caused Raph to fuck you like there was no tomorrow. He studies your face, and your half-lidded eyes watch as beads of sweat litter his emerald skin, the sweet sinful smell of sex filling the air as you finally come to your senses. “Think you could fill me up?” You had asked so innocently despite the obvious whine in your voice. You sounded so needy and sexy, that Raphael couldn’t hold it in any longer. All of his senses were being simulated, and the sight of you was the cherry on top. He had you exactly where he wanted you: crumbled, fucked-out face, rosy cheeks, and begging for him to cum.
You tightened around him, a wave of pure euphoria taking over you as you came to the squelching sound of you finishing all over Raph’s member. Your body shakes as he doesn’t stop, moments go by before he slows down, allowing you to ride out your orgasm. You lean up to lock lips, and his thrusts quicken before he groans huskily into the sloppy kiss. He had reached the top of his own hill, and he couldn’t wait to fill you up and paint your insides white.
When he’s finally ready, he puts his forehead on yours, and you watch as he becomes weak at the knees, bucking his hips to meet your pelvis one last time before you feel something warm shoot through you. The thought of Raph’s cum filling you up alone caused you to moan in ecstasy, never mind the feeling of it.
Raph shifts his weight, holding himself up with his reserved strength. It wasn’t like he was finished. No, Raph’s libido was so high and mighty, this was just the pregame.
“I kind of feel bad…” You trail off. You felt Raph’s cum leak from your pulsating cunt, pooling onto the floor under you. Droplets of sweat littered the hardwood, “We made a mess.” But before you could get up, Raph lets out a throaty chuckle, “Ya think so? We could do bettah than this.” His accented voice teases a new idea. Maybe he was right, you guys could make an even bigger mess.
The smell of sex wasn’t leaving the dojo anytime soon, and with the way you went uninterrupted for what seemed like hours, what made you think you’d be stopping here? You sit up on your knees, pushing Raphael back onto his shell. Straddling his waist, his member jumped in response. Once again, he was ready to give it to you. As he watched you grab it at the base and align it with your sex, cum still dripping from the previous activity, you sat down on it slowly until your pelvis met his own.
It was your turn to fuck his brains out, and you were ready to do just that.

User123 Are you in town for the race? User34 Of course she is, her family literally owns a team. Idiot.
“Ms. Saint Gerard, what a pleasant surprise to see you today! Your father didn’t say anything about you visiting this week. Would you like me to take you to the estate then?” George Fishburn asks as he holds the car door open for me.
“No, no.” Waving him off, I slide into the back seat of the SUV. “I’m staying at the Hermitage this week.” I ignore the man’s raised eyebrows, choosing to pretend like he isn't giving me the opportunity to give him a little bit of gossip like I always tend to do. I’m certain he’s dying to ask why I won’t be staying with my father and on a normal day, I would have been happy to answer his questions. George has been my father’s driver and all around errand man for as long as I can remember and normally I would have gladly chatted with him about why I was suddenly home.
Today though? Today I was glad he was giving me the quiet distance that my melancholy mood craved.
“Could you take me to Alex’s condo and then drop my bags off at the hotel though? If it’s not too much trouble.” I ask once George has loaded my bags in the trunk and settled himself in the drivers seat.
He chuckles and rolled his eyes, “Of course it’s not too much trouble, you know that. I’ll leave you with your brother and take them up to your room myself.”
“Thank you.” I sigh as he starts the engine, sinking into the supple leather seats that are a sharp contrast to the turmoil rolling through me.
Moments later, he’s smoothly navigating the car out of the parking lot and is making his way towards the highway that leads from Nice to Monaco. My clenched jaw softens as I watch the French country side slip by, a wash of relief unknotting the constant stomachache I’ve been living with for weeks. Kilometer by kilometer, the tension that I’ve become quite acquainted with seems to melt away. I had woken up that morning in my townhome in London but this afternoon, I found myself home again.
Technically, Monaco isn’t really home, in the strictest sense of the word. I had lived in New York City until I was 14 but the tiny principality had always felt more like home than any apartment in the city or home in the country I had ever shared with my mother. My father had always brought my brother, Alex and I here during our summer visits after my parents had divorced when I was three. Sometimes I still wake up in the middle of a London rainstorm swearing I can smell the salty air of the Mediterranean and perfume of the wealthy residents.
So it really wasn’t quite a surprise that the only place I thought might be able to fix me after what I’d been through in the last six months was Monaco.
Slipping my phone out of the pocked of my bag, I check the notifications on my Instagram post earlier. It had been such a last minute trip to come home this week that I hadn’t even told my best friend, which she was apparently not very pleased about.
Moments after the I send the last text, my phone vibrates, interrupting the quiet tranquility that I had been soaking in.
“Are you okay?” Guilt sits at the edges of Molly’s tone when the call connects.
Glancing out the window, I tip my head back against the soft leather head rest as I ruminate over my answer.
“I’m...alive?” A dark chuckle escapes before I can stop it while I stare out the window as we begin to pass through the outskirts of Monte Carlo. I briefly catch a glimpse of the glittering sea that sits at the edge of the city. Even just the briefest of looks at the water chases a bit more of the anxiety that sits heavy in my chest away.
On the other end of the phone, I hear Molly shuffling about and the muffled voice of someone that sounded a lot like Bev, Molly’s PR manager. Checking my watch I suck in a breath, “Molly! You have a show in like 45 minutes, shouldn’t you be warming up?”
While Molly might be my best friend, she is also multi-Grammy award winning singer Molly Sharpe. We met five years ago when she had nearly thrown a punch at a drunk guy that was getting a bit too handsy with me at a party during the Cannes Film Festival. We had never said a single word to each other before she came to my rescue, somehow picking up on my panic from just a glance, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Even when we were on opposite sides of the globe, which happened more often than not now that she was on tour, we try to FaceTime at least once a day.
“Nah, this is more important. I’m already warmed up anyway, so stop trying to deflect. What happened that made you literally flee the country?”
I barely fight the urge to groan. “I ran into William at a coffee shop thi-.” I stop mid-thought to correct myself. “No, no! I saw my cheating ex-boyfriend at MY coffee shop this morning, Molly! In MY neighborhood. On MY side of London!” I cry, my molars grinding together. “With whatever the fuck her names is, that stupid red head that he cheated on me with.”
Heat rises in my cheeks as I remember the scene from this morning. I had just left my pilates class and had been planning on making a quick run to the barn to exercise my horses even though that was the last place I wanted to be. But all of my plans came to a screeching halt when I saw William arm in arm with the girl he had cheated on me with walk straight into my favorite coffee shop.
“Coming from anyone else, I’d say you claiming it was ‘your’ side of London was simple hyperbole but I genuinely don’t doubt you and your family actually own a significant portion of the city.” Molly teases.
A smile tugs reluctantly at my lips, “Shut up.” I scoff. She was right, of course. My family had been the founding investor into the Formula One team that all these years later, still bares our last name. We had a luxury road car division that was the first bit of our business, the racing coming second after my great-grandfather fell in love with the sport. Simply put, St. Gerard was as synonymous with luxury car production as Chanel was with haute couture.
“So anyway, I saw him with her and I couldn’t breathe. I completely panicked. Between that and,” I pause, my breath catching in my lungs. “What happened last month, I just lost it. So, I did the most mature thing I could think of at the time.”
“And what was that?” Her tone held an edge of a laugh, like she knew this was going to be ridiculous.
“I called an Uber right there on the street corner, packed a bag, and chartered a flight home.”
“Céline Cristelle St. Gérard! That is the most out of touch way to deal with your problems.”
I let out a chuckle. “Thats rich coming from a girl who quite literally chartered a jet to fly her favorite chef from New Orleans to Portugal just to make her chicken noodle soup when she was sick last year.”
“That was a medical emergency.” She pouts.
“So you’re telling me that you wouldn’t have done the exact same thing?”
Molly cackles and I could just imagine her throwing her head back laughing in the green room at whatever stadium she was performing in tonight, “Oh no, I would. We’re both equally insane and privileged. It’s a dangerous combination. Go on.”
“That’s it. I flew home. I don’t even have any luggage packed. We were 20 minutes off the ground when I remembered that the race was in Monaco this weekend and panicked that I wasn’t going to be able to find a place to stay but I somehow managed to find a room at the Hermitage.”
“You’re not staying with your father?”
“Ha! Absolutely not. He’ll be furious with me when he hears about what I did yesterday.”
In addition to a cheating ex-boyfriend that had just broken my heart recently, I'd also decided a few days ago that I was done with show jumping for the season. There had only been a few competitions but after what had happened six weeks ago to my heart horse, I just didn't have the competitive drive in me anymore. For as long as I could remember, show jumping had been my 'thing'. Alex had racing and the team but I had always had my horses.
Until I didn't.
On the other end of the phone, my best friend gasps. “You haven’t told him yet?” She shrieks.
“I was kind of hoping the press would do it for me, to be honest.” I wince, nibbling at a cuticle my manicurist missed at my nail appointment yesterday.
“Céline!” Molly hisses.
Rubbing my free hand over my face, I groan into the phone. “I know! I know! I’m a coward. I’m actually on my way to see Alex to try to figure out how the hell to break it to the old man. He’s going to be so mad.”
Molly’s tone softens at the guilt that I know fills my voice. “He won’t be if you’re honest with him.”
I stay silent for a moment, considering Molly’s words. I know my father is going to lose his mind when he finds out that I had made this huge, life altering decision without even so much as consulting him. Not because he’d tell me that I wasn’t allowed to but because show jumping is such a big part of my life and making such a big decision like pulling out of competition for the year without even so much as consulting him was going to set him off. My father was solidly of the 'the St. Gerard family is not a family of quitters' belief and this was going to break his heart.
“Listen. We just pulled up to Alex’s place so I’m going to let you go. Say a little prayer that I survive the first firing squad?”
“Alex will be on your side, he always is. Text me later and I’ll call you after the show if it’s not too late.”
“Love you.”
“Love you too Cece.”

TheoJHighgate Rolling into Monaco race week like... user918 the curls are curling evansracing so excited!! user0199 does this man know what he does to us??? >>>user029 oh 100%
The Evans Racing garage thrums with the kind of energy that only happens during race week. Mechanics scurry around my car making any last minute adjustments before the first of three rounds of practice tomorrow, the sounds their tools make a familiar grind in my ear. I lean against one of the many sleek orange and black toolboxes that line one side of the garage, taking it all in.
Monaco is my favorite track on the entire circuit. I have so many good memories here that every time this weekend rolls around, I try to soak in as much of the energy I can. The team has been really consistent so far this season but we’re still winless and this weekend feels like the perfect time to remedy that situation.
“Theo.” A sharp voice yanks me out of my podium day dreams. “My office. Now.” Scott Hayes, Evans Racing’s team principal stands just outside his office door, his expression all storm clouds threatening a downpour. Fuck, he does not look happy.
I straighten, ignoring the stares from the mechanics who are trying to look busy while hoping to overhear the verbal undressing I feel like I’m about to get. I shuffle through my memory quickly as I push off the tool box. While I have somewhat (read: huge) of a reputation in the paddock of being the driver that gives the PR team the most headaches before race weekends, I don’t think I’ve done anything recently to bring the wrath of Scott Hayes down on me lately.
“Sounds like I’m about to be on the receiving end of one of your inspiring pep talks boss.” I flash him my most disarming smile, trying to hide the pit that has suddenly formed in my stomach.
Scott simply rolls his eyes and steps back into his office without another word, leaving me no choice but to follow.
Fantastic.
“Good luck in there.” My performance coach Levi McAllen claps me on the back when I walk past him. “Find me after and we’ll go through what he says, okay?”
What he means is ‘I’ll talk you down off the ledge Scott is about to put you on’. While Scott Hayes is a legend in Formula One, he’s also one of the scariest mother fuckers I’ve ever worked for. I hate being on his bad side, which seems to happen on a regular basis more and more lately. Thankfully, my driving makes up for it. Most of the time.
“Yeah, yeah.” I sigh dramatically, running a hand through my mess of dark brown curls that are in desperate need of a haircut. I make a mental note to get to my barber before tonight’s charity gala, knowing our PR manager Loraine will have my head if I don’t. If I can show up with a clean cut mullet, she usually doesn't give me shit. The way that woman had almost buzzed off my entire head of hair when I showed up one day a few months ago with said mullet was almost scary. There might have been tears.
Weaving my way through the labyrinth of the garage easily, I manage to pretend I'm ignoring the engineers who keep tossing what look like sympathetic glances my way.
This is not going to be good.
I shut the door behind me, the snick of the latch the only sound in the quiet office.
Scott waves a hand towards one of the two white plastic chairs in front of his desk.
“Theo.” He begins, his voice softening a fraction. “We’ve invested a lot in you. You’re our number one driver, the face of Evans Racing in F1.”
I nod, a flicker of pride settling the anxiety still churning in my stomach a bit. Being a Formula 1 driver has been my dream since the first time my dad plopped me down behind the wheel of a go kart. It’s exactly where I want to be. Fast cars, pretty girls, the roar of the crowd dressed in your team colors - it’s a life I’ve dreamt of since I was a scrappy little kid fighting for the podium on dusty, back woods karting tracks.
“Frankly, Theo,” Scott continues, his voice turning rough again, “The results haven’t been there. A few podiums, yeah, but no wins. We’ve poured resources into this car and it’s showing. We need you to step it up, to translate that speed into wins.”
I lean back in my chair, shoulders dropping. He’s not wrong. We certainly had the fastest car on the grid most weekends but I hadn’t capitalized on it yet. The media was starting to chatter about how I might not have the skill or mentality to handle a fast car and championship fight. Here I was, my sixth season in F1 and only one win to my name. And that singular win had taken me four and a half seasons to get. Sure, I was consistent enough, I hold the record for the most podiums before winning a race in all of F1 history. Second and third place finishes will only get you so far in this sport though, especially when your team has made huge leaps in technology in the last half dozen years.
The responsibility of translating that speed and those improvements into wins sat squarely on my shoulders.
“I know, Scott.” I say. “Believe me, I want to win just as much as you guys do. Probably even more.”
It was true. My entire career I’ve been the ‘solid, consistent, well performing driver’. Good enough to gain the attention of Evans back when I was just 16 years old driving in F3 but never quite good enough to be considered one of the greats. And the reputation of being ‘almost good enough’ starts to grate on your ego after a while.
Scott studies me a moment, a hint of doubt lingering in his eyes. “Theo,” He says finally, “you have the talent we want here at Evans. We wouldn’t have signed you otherwise. You’re a natural behind the wheel, your race craft impeccable. But sometimes…” He trails off, the silence of his unfinished words hanging heavy in the air.
I know exactly what he’s trying to say. The late nights, the tabloid headlines, the reputation for being a player that follows me like a shadow. It’s a tightrope I usually walk a little better than I have been lately. Balancing the bad boy image with the laser focus I need on the track was something I’m usually good at. Or at least I thought I was.
Maybe I’m not as good at the balancing act as I thought I once was.
“I’ll do better.” I promise, meeting his heated gaze head-on. “This race, this whole season? It’s mine. No more distractions, just wins.”
A flicker of something that might have qualified as a smile crosses his lips. “We’ll see.” He says, a hint of steel still in his voice. “We’ll see. Your contract is coming to an end this year and we want you to be in this seat next year. You are the heart and soul of this team but we need you to start winning.”
We both knew my word is only as good as my last race. The pressure was on. I had to get serious about my driving. I know I have it in me to be a better driver, that I haven’t hit the peak of my career yet. I was just running out of time to finally find the missing piece to the puzzle that was my career. I had to find it and I had to find it fast.

Chapter 1
Rating: G (for this chapter. Will be M or E later on)
w/c: 4320
Summary:
Tommy Kinard asks Evan Buckley to be his fake boyfriend for one night to keep his aunt Clara off his back about dating.
The problem begins when it goes well.
Too well.
Tommy tries to ignore the fact that he’s falling for a straight guy.
While Buck is trying to figure out what these new strange feelings he’s having mean.
**********
“Thanks again for dinner.”
“No problem, Tommy.” Chimney said clearing the dinner table. “I’m just glad we actually found the time to properly hang out”
“Yeah and not in the back of a helo in a hurricane.” Hen added.
“Anybody ready for dessert?” Chimney called from the kitchen.
“Oh, no.” Tommy patted his stomach. “Anymore food and my shirt will burst.”
“Yeah, like it’s not already pulling at the seams from your ridiculous muscles.” Hen joked. Tommy lifted up his arm into a bicep curl with a grin and Hen rolled her eyes as they laughed.
“You should definitely join me and Eddie at our pick up basketball games.” Chim said sitting back down at the table.
“I’d love to. You play as well, Evan?”
“Oh he hates basketball.” Chim answered for him.
“What?!” Tommy responded looking at Buck. “How can you hate basketball ball? It’s the sport of kings!”
Buck shrugged. “Just never interested me.” He replied honestly.
“Travesty.” Tommy teased.
“I’m gonna make coffee.” Chimney stood up.
“I’ll help.” Hen followed him into the kitchen.
“So what hobbies do you have?” Tommy asked.
“Uh, I-I love to cook.” Buck said. “Bobby’s been teaching me pretty much since I arrived at the 118.”
“Man, I miss his cooking. Those family dinners were the shit.”
Buck chuckled. “They still are. Actually he’s having a dinner this weekend. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if you came too.”
“Ah, I’d love that but I got family coming to visit this weekend.”
“The queen is finally asleep.” Maddie said walking out into the living room.
“How many stories did you have to read?” Hen asked.
“Four.” She said. “In the end I had to make one up about Tommy.”
“Me?” Tommy questioned.
“Oh you’re the star of the evening—Daddy’s friend who can fly. Right now you’re the coolest person she knows.”
“She’s not wrong.” Tommy joked, popping his collar.
“Maybe I should tell her the story of Maurice.” Hen said.
“Oh, come on!” He replied.
“Who’s Maurice?” Buck asked. Hen and Chimney looked at each other and laughed.
“Well..” Chimney began the story as Tommy shook his head in embarrassment.
*****
Buck sat at his island eating his breakfast checking his texts. He’d received one from Maddie thanking him for coming over for dinner. It never failed to make him laugh the she always did that, even though there was no need—he was her brother.
It had been a nice evening all around. He loved getting to spend time with Jee, who didn’t miss the opportunity to make Uncle Buck promise that next time he came over they’d bake cookies, and he’d enjoyed getting to know Tommy more.
He’d heard the stories from Hen and Chim about Tommy’s time at the 118, and he knew that he’d helped them out with that fire at Doheny park years ago. They had talked about him with fondness how it would be nice to catch up with him- though neither of them thought it would take a capsized cruise ship and a category 5 hurricane to do it.
Tommy was just so cool. But in an understated way—he didn’t talk or walk like he thought his shit didn’t stink, but instead seemed quite humble and on more than one occasion seemed a little uncomfortable when Hen or Chim were praising him. Which just made him even cooler.
What Buck noticed the most was just how masculine he was. He was tall, broad and muscular. His hair was similar to a regulation military cut, perhaps a little longer and his lower face was caressed with dark stubble. The cleft was something Buck couldn’t stop himself from looking at the most. He’d always admire the feature on a man. And Tommy was indeed a man.
But his masculinity what balanced, however, by his deeply blue eyes surrounded by long dark lashes. He was somehow incredibly handsome and equally pretty. Strangely, Buck couldn’t stop looking at him.
As he threw his breakfast plate into the sink a knock on his door echoed in the apartment and he opened his door to the last person he expected.
“T-Tommy.”
The man smiled. “Hey, Evan. Can I come in?”
“Uh, sure.” He stepped aside to let him through.
“Wow! Maybe I’m working at the wrong station.” Tommy said as he looked around Bucks living space.
“Is-is everything okay?”
“Yeah, everything’s fine.” He said waving away Buck’s concerns. “I actually have a, uh, favour to ask.” He scratched the back of his head. For as confident he’d seemed so far, this morning he seemed.. nervous? Perhaps not nervous but certainly less confident that he had been the evening before.
From the moment Tommy had met them at Harbour station weeks ago, he’d done nothing but ooze confidence. His body language, the way he spoke, the way he did his job—Buck had watched in awe at the way his hands delicately glided over the controls as he flew the helicopter back after the cruise ship rescue. In the handful of times they’d met since then, Tommy always seemed to come across quite squared away and sure of himself.
“Uh, sure.” Buck walked over to the counter. “You want a coffee?”
“Yeah, thanks.”
“So what’s the favour? Nothing illegal is it?” Buck teased pouring them both a mug.
“I- What if it was?” Tommy enquired with a curious look to his eyes.
“That would depend on what it was.”
“Wait, so there’s some illegal activity you would be willing to engage in if I asked?” Tommy raised an eyebrow. Actually if he looked at Buck with those eyes Buck probably be willing to do a lot.
“Well, like murder? No. Breaking into a lab to rescue animals—I’d be down.” He answered placing Tommy’s coffee mug in front of him on the island.
“Thanks, and duly noted.” He chuckled. “No, it’s nothing like that. You remember last night I mentioned I had family coming to town?”
“Yeah.”
“It’s my aunt Clara who’s coming.” Tommy said.
“Is she not very nice?”
“No, she’s great. Practically raised me after my parents-“ He abruptly stopped himself from finishing the sentence. “She’s a great lady. The problem is that from the moment I came out to her a couple of years ago she has constantly been trying to set me up with men she knows. And, God love the woman, but her taste in men is awful.” Buck couldn’t help but laugh.
“Are you wanting me to set you up with someone? ‘Cause, I’m sorry but I don’t think I know any single gay men.”
“Oh, no, that’s not- That wasn’t the favour.”
“Oh?”
“I’m actually not looking to date anybody, which she cannot seem to accept. But, when she wouldn’t let it go on the phone last week, I kinda, sorta lied and told her I already had a boyfriend.” He admitted.
“And now she’s coming to visit..” Buck said picking up what he was getting at.
“She’s expecting me to introduce her to him.”
“Oh.” Buck responded.
“So-“ He elongated the word. “I was wondering if you would consider.. pretending to be my boyfriend for an evening?
“Oh.” Buck said again. He had zero idea of what the favour was going to be but he never would have guess that.
“She’s only on town for 1 night and it would just be a couple of hours for dinner, which I’ll pay for so you’ll get a free meal out of it.”
“Why me?” Buck asked, truly confused as to why Tommy would pick him of all people. Tommy was effortlessly cool and accomplished—Buck was a dork, who never shut up.
“Two reasons, really. Firstly, I don’t have anybody else to ask. She met Chimney a couple of times back when I was at the 118 and knows he’s straight. That leaves Bobby, which, absolutely not, or Eddie and no offence to him but he screams straight guy—no way he could pull off queer.”
Buck laughed at the true statement. “But you think I could?”
“God, I hope so.” Tommy said. “Plus, you’re closer to my type anyway so it’s more likely that Clara would believe it.”
Tommy’s face was kind of adorable, really. Buck wasn’t sure if he was deliberately putting on those puppy dog eyes, but they were working, regardless.
“What would I need to do?”
“Just have dinner with us.”
“That’s it?” Buck asked.
“You’re expecting more? I’m not sure that would be appropriate at the dinner table, Evan.” Tommy winked and Buck’s cheeks immediately pinked up.
“That’s not what I meant!” He protested to Tommy’s amusement. “I just meant like, would I have to hold your hand, have my arm around you etc?”
“You wouldn’t have to. Not if that would make you feel uncomfortable, I mean.” He explained.
“I-I don’t mind. When is the dinner?”
“Friday night.”
“Okay. That gives us 3 days to plan.” Buck said unlocking his phone and opening the notes app.
“I’m sorry.. plan?” Tommy said confused.
“Well yeah.. If we’re going to make this believable we need to make sure we get our stories straight.”
“She’s my aunt, not the Spanish Inquisition, Evan.”
“And what happens if-if.. Say I order you a drink and it’s one you hate and she knows that you hate it.. wouldn’t that be weird? Or-or if she asks how we met and we give different answers.”
“I think you’re overthinking this a little.” Tommy said gently.
“I think you’re under thinking this a lot.” Buck countered.
Tommy looked at Buck for a few seconds and sighed resolutely. “I’m not going to win this am I?”
“Nope.” Buck replied with a grin.
Little did Tommy know that he’d just met Clipboard Buck.
***
“So, what sort of plan do you have in mind?” Tommy asked as they walked through a local park. It was a beautiful sunny and warm day—the first in almost a week of cloudy, drizzly weather. If nothing else, Tommy could at least get some vitamin D out of this ridiculous plan.
The thing is he admired Evan’s commitment to the cause, but it really was just going to be for one night of dinner. And it’s not like Clara was going to torture them for information to test their “relationship.”
But, though he wouldn’t admit it even on threat of death, Tommy actually found Evan’s excitement of it all quite adorable.
“We need to learn basic things about each other like favourite foods, where we grew up etc. You know—stuff your partner would know after.. how long have we been together?”
“2 months.”
“Right, after 2 months together. But we don’t have a long time to do it.”
“So, we need the cliff notes of each other is what you’re saying.”
“Exactly.” Buck said.
“Is there a form I could fill in for this?”
“See, I just learned something about you.” Buck said almost triumphantly.
“What?”
“You’re quite bitchy.” Buck informed him. There was no malice or judgement in Buck’s voice—it was actually one his favourite qualities in Tommy so far.
“I am not!” He protested. Buck just gave him a look. “Yeah well, you.. yap. You’re a yapper.” His face was smug as though he’d figured out something nobody else knew.
“I know.” Buck said without a hint of shame. And he truly wasn’t ashamed. A few years ago, he’d have thought differently. On more than one occasion Taylor Kelly, his ex girlfriend, had called him a yapper and never meant it affectionately.
After that ended, he started working on a newer and improved version of himself. (Although he couldn’t remember if he was supposed to be Buck 4.0 or Buck 5.0. So what? At least he was trying to improve, right?)
“We could play 20 questions or something like that?” Buck asked.
“I’m sorry are we 14?” Tommy replied.
“Sorry.” Buck said looking down. But Tommy could tell that he thought he’d done something wrong. Maybe Evan was right about his bitchiness. Guilt pricked at his chest.
“I’m sorry. You’re right—it’s actually a good idea.” Tommy conceded and Buck threw him a skeptical look. “I promise.” He smiled softly. “I guess I was just being bitchy.” He added with a deliberate smirk. Buck playfully rolled his eyes before continuing to walk alongside Tommy.
“I guess I’ll start—What’s your favourite movie?” Buck asked.
“Love Actually.”
“I’ve never seen it.”
“What?! How have you not seen it?” Tommy asked.
Buck shrugged. “Just not a big movie watcher. My sister and are were kinda sheltered from a lot of movies and shows as a kid so never really got into them. I love documentaries though.”
“Noted. Worst injury you’ve had on the job?”
“That would be the engine that crushed my leg.” Buck answered. Tommy stopped still.
“Wait that was you?!” Buck nodded. “I remember watching that on tv.”
Buck scoffed. “So did my girlfriend at the time. She didn’t handle it well. Broke up with me as soon as I got out of hospital.”
“Charming.” Tommy responded sarcastically. “How long did it take to heal?”
“Uh, about 5 months for my leg to heal to pass my physical, but then I threw a blood clot in my lung and set me back another 2 months thanks to the blood thinners.” Buck explained.
Tommy couldn’t not notice the sadness on Bucks face as he remembered that time in his life. He recognised the look from his own reflection when he caught himself thinking about his own past. He tried not to allow himself to do that much as it was too painful. But every so often those memories would slide their way into to his consciousness.
“What about you?” Buck asked.
“Chopper went down in Afghanistan. Got a punctured lung and broke my arm in two places.”
“You were in the military?” Buck asked, surprised.
“Army.” Tommy replied. “Enlisted at 18. It’s why I transferred to Harbor—I missed flying.”
“I bet it feels like having a super power.” Buck said back.
“On occasion.” He said.
“Man, I would love to be a be able to fly.”
“I can give you lessons if you want?” He offered.
“Really?” Buck questioned excitedly.
Tommy nodded. “It’s the least I could do for helping me out.”
“I don’t think that’s equal.” Buck argued. “At least let me buy you a beer. Actually, speaking of—what do you like to drink?”
“Like every other boring cis male I mostly drink beer. Occasionally a nice red wine. You?”
“I like an IPA. Just keep me away from the Margaritas.”
“Do I want to know?” Tommy eyed him up.
“I kissed Lucy.” He admitted, embarrassed.
“Donato?!”
“Yeah. Actually, she kissed me first for the record. But I-I, uh.. had a girlfriend at the time.”
“Oh.” He said elongating the word.
“Yeah, not my finest moment.” Buck said.
“Are you still together?” He enquired.
“Oh, no—we broke up a few months after that. Different reason though.”
Tommy didn’t push the subject. They continued leisurely walking around the park trading basic personal information: Where they were from—Tommy was born and bred in L.A, Buck from Pennsylvania; music tastes—Buck liked pop music and whatever was on the radio on his drive in to work, Tommy liked what Buck teased as dad rock; Favourite place to eat—Tommy loved a local pizza joint, Micellis, Buck liked Sushi Palace.
It was, admittedly, not as hellish an afternoon as Tommy had been expecting. In fact it had actually been quite pleasant. There was an ease talking to Evan. He wasn’t arrogant or judgmental like a lot of men Tommy had met that were Evan’s age. Instead, though he was confident, he was also open; wasn’t ashamed of the things he liked and certainly didn’t seem to be putting on any airs and graces to impress Tommy.
**********
“Hi, Evan.” Tommy answered the phone just as he sat down in Habors rec room. “What’s up?”
“What are you wearing?”
“Wow, and so early in our relationship. I dig it.”
“Hilarious, Tommy.” Buck said as Tommy chuckled. “I’m talking about tomorrow night.”
“Uh, I don’t know. Haven’t really thought about. I’ll probably just grab a shirt from my closet. I might even wear clean jeans. Why?”
“I was thinking we should coordinate.”
“It’s just a casual dinner, Evan. It doesn’t really matter all that much.”
“But I-I want to make a good impression on your aunt.”
Tommy couldn’t help but smile at his ridiculous new friend. Chimney had told him that he was the type to go all in with whatever he did and he wasn’t kidding.
“Evan, you really don’t have to worry. I’m sure you’ll look great whatever you wear, and honestly Clara isn’t going to care.”
“I can’t help it—I’ve never been on a date with a guy before.” He said earnestly. “You asked me to help and I want to do a good job for you.”
And didn’t that make Tommy feel a certain way he definitely shouldn’t be.
“I appreciate that, Evan. And you for helping me. But really, you don’t have to worry. I promise.”
“Okay.” Buck said back but Tommy heard the concern in his voice.
He was probably going to regret his next suggestion. “If it will make you feel better, why don’t you come to my place before dinner and you can pick my outfit.”
“Really?” Tommy could practically hear the grin on Bucks face.
“Really.”
“Cool.”
**********
Tommy walked into his house desperate for a shower. He’d been working ground support on a landfill fire and smelled like what could only be described as burnt plastic wrapped in fish.
He took three steps up his stairs when his doorbell rang. He’d hoped it would be Larry across the street whom he hated for being the neighbourhood busybody who would complain about anything and everything. He’d love Larry to get a big old whiff of him right now.
He was surprised however to see his aunt on the other side of the door.
“Aunt Clara? I thought we were going to be meeting at the restaurant.”
“I wanted to surprise my favourite nephew.” Her small 5 foot frame stepped forward and she reached up to grab Tommys face, planting a kiss onto his cheek; her long black flowing kaftan, despite her small stature, almost enveloping him.
“I’m your only nephew.” He reminded her which she ignored.
“Grab my bag, darling.” She gestured behind herself. “Did something die in here?” She remarked.
“Oh, sorry that’s me. I was just about to have a shower.” She waved her hand in front of her face trying to waft away the ripe stench coming from him.
“Is there a problem with your hotel?” Tommy brought her bag inside as she turned and made her way into the kitchen.
“Some issue with their power. They’ve cancelled all reservations for tonight. I hope you have better coffee this time, and not that cheap crap that tastes like it’s already been through somebody.” She opened and closed his cabinets until she found his coffee, which as it happened was better than what he used to buy.
“So, you’re staying here?”
“Is that a problem?”
“Uh, no. No, of course not. It’s- I just wasn’t expecting it. I haven’t set up the guest room.” He said.
She waved her hand; the sound of her beaded jewellery clacking as she moved. “You don’t have to go to the trouble, I’ll sleep on the couch.”
Tommy looked at her incredulously. “I wouldnt be caught dead sleeping on a couch—I have standards” - that’s a direct quote from you.”
“People change, Thomas.” She argued as she squinted at Tommys coffee machine trying to figure out what buttons to press. “What happened to just using a simple coffee pot? Your generation are obsessed with these damn robot machines.”
Tommy chuckled. “Aunt Clara, you go sit down and I’ll make the coffee.”
“Thank you, darling.” She affectionately tapped the side of his face. She stopped after taking a step past him. “On second thought you better take that shower first—you smell like my first husband. After he died.”
***
Tommy emerged from his shower feeling like a brand new man. He threw on some sweats and a T-shirt and headed downstairs to make his aunt coffee.
He found her standing in front of his fireplace admiring the photograph of his mother that sat on top of the hearth. His mom was standing by his grandmothers Christmas tree with a 1 year old Tommy in her arms. Her smile was big and happy—the picture taken back at a time when her smiled outnumbered her cry’s.
“She was so beautiful.” Clara remarked hearing Tommy enter the room.
“Yeah.” He agreed.
“Shame she met your piece of shit father. Actually, that’s not entirely fair—she got you of it,” she patted his upper arm. “The only good thing to ever come from him.”
She walked back over to the sofa and sat down, tucking her crossed legs underneath herself.
“Speaking of pictures—I want to see one of this Evan boy.”
Shit. Evan. He was going to be coming over soon and judging by the nerves he’d already had at the prospect of tonights dinner, he was probably going to shit himself entirely when he turns up and gets an early and unexpected introduction.
Also, how was he going to explain not having any photos of Evan? Perhaps his reassurances to Evan that tonight would be fine was preemptive.
“I- it’s a new phone so I don’t have any pictures.” He said on the fly and hoped she’d believe it.
“What about his social media? You kids post everything in there these days.”
“I don’t really use it.” That was the truth. Lucy had made him set up an instagram account once but he’d posted one picture of a sunset taken from the helm of his helo and that was it.
“Oh you should, darling—I’ve met some wonderful men from instagram. I haven’t paid for a dinner in months!” She said happily.
“Aunt Clara!” Tommy chastised “You can’t just meet random men from the internet! Do you know how dangerous that is?”
“Sweetheart, when you get to my age, danger is just a little extra excitement.” She told him “Besides, a woman has needs that must be-“
“Woah!” Tommy threw his hands up. “I so do not need to know the rest of that sentence.”
Clara rolled her eyes. “It’s 2024, Thomas—women like sex too. It’s not something to be ashamed about.”
“Yes, I get that, and agree. However I don’t need to know about your sex life, thank you.” He told her and she laughed. “Besides, since when did you use social media?”
“I told you—to meet men.”
“You joined social media to get laid?” He said; incredulity all over his face.
“For company, Thomas. At our age people are dropping like flies.”
“You’re 62, not 90.” He reminded her.
“Yes but the men my age that haven’t eaten or drank themselves into a heart attack, all want housewives; women to wipe their asses for them like it’s 1950.” She shook her head. “I want to spend my final years on this earth eating good food, drinking fantastic wine and having mind blowing orgasms,” Tommy grimaced. “And only the younger ones know how to give those.”
“How.. how young are we talking?” Tommy asked mildly terrified of the answer.
“The last one was..” she looked up at the ceiling as she recalled the answer. “41.”
“Christ, Clara he’s my age!”
“And all the better for it.” She winked.
“Okay!” He abruptly stood up. “We’re done with this conversation—I’m going to make that coffee.” He quickly made for the kitchen to the sound of Clara’s laughs behind him.
He closed the kitchen door and pulled out his phone to call Buck, swearing to himself when there was no answer because presumably it meant that he was already driving to Tommy’s.
He made himself and Clara coffee then hovered near front door to hopefully catch Evan as he arrived. Luck was on his side when he spotted the jeep pulling up against the curb. He quickly ran to meet him.
Buck lifted out a bunch of hangers, each holding a different shirt. “Hey, so I brought a couple of options for-“
“She’s here.” Tommy interrupted.
“Huh?”
“My aunt. She’s here. Turned up like an hour ago.”
“I thought we were meeting her at the restaurant?” Buck asked.
“So did I. But there’s an issue with her hotel so she’s staying here tonight.”
“Wow. Okay.” Buck looked toward the house to see a woman with dark curly hair wiggling her fingers at him with a smile. He took in a deep breath. “We haven’t discussed our relationship, yet. Like-like who asked who out, what we like to do on dates, and-“
Tommy placed his hands into Bucks shoulders to, let’s be honest, shut him up. “It’ll be fine. But.. I should probably have warned you that she’s.. well, she’s not like most women her age. She’s remarkably progressive and very open about a lot of things. She also sometimes forgets her boundaries, so prepare for some invasive personal questions.”
“You couldn’t have told me all this before?” Buck argued.
“I was going to when you got here but I wasn’t expecting her first. If you don’t want to do this I completely understand. I can tell her your sick or-“
It was Bucks turn to interrupt. “No, I want to. I promised I would help. It’s fine.” He gave a somewhat nervous smile.
“Okay.” Tommy nodded. He turned and held out his hand for Buck to take. “You ready?”
Buck slid his fingers into Tommy’s and was immediately surprised at how soft his hands were. Tommy led them up the path and into the house.

from me to you | pepe martí
“all of the girls you’ve loved before, made you the one i’ve fallen for” ♡ (inspired by to all the boys i’ve loved before!)
synopsis: you’ve been in love with your childhood best friend since you were 6. when you were 13, you decided to start writing love letters to him. you never planned on sending them but they somehow made their way to his house?
pairing: pepe marti x reader (y/n) adler | genre: highschool au, smau, fluff, slight angst | warnings: some cursing, suggestive jokes from christian (haha), gianna/gigi is an oc, y/n is kind of irritating because she assumes a lot !!
chapter 1 : ignorance is bliss
now playing : i think he knows — taylor swift
you waited at the bus stop a few blocks from your house, your mind totally occupied by the mortifying events that happened yesterday.
while you didn’t want to think about it at all, it was hard not to. your mind was constantly playing the moment back.
you wondered how much he read, how he felt when he read it, what his face looked like, his thoughts, etc.
but, a part of you also really did not want know. your heart was sadly fragile, super sensitive to anything relating to pepe.
you knew it was stupid; but, you really thought that you could just peacefully like him. you were waiting for your feelings to just go away, a confession seeming out of reach.
you had to get a grip, you needed to figure out how to go about this whole situation since you knew that he would most likely not drop it.
the bus began to approach the stop, a part of you feeling happy that you had some more time to put together a plan for today.
you sat down at the window seat, the seat feeling very comfortable, yet, undeniably cold.
it was nice though. you finally had some peace and quiet, and could focus on what was important.
that focus broke quickly when a familiar figure sat next to you, their head instantly looking at you.
“hi there”
you wanted to scream. no, you actually wanted to get off the bus and run back home. your plans of peace, tranquility, and happiness was totally interrupted by the guy.
your eyes widened, your mouth parting in a surprised expression. your guys eye contact and silence existing for a long time.
“you’re still not talking to me?” pepe asked, his eyebrow quirking up.
you stayed silent, trying to disassociate from the fact that the boy you’ve been in love with for 11 years is trying to talk to you after finding out you like him.
pepe smiled to himself as he looked down, a small chuckle coming from his mouth. your heart skipped a beat, his stupidly cute smile has always had some kind of effect on you. and you know very well that you probably wrote some very cringey (but true) things about it in your letters.
oh god, just thinking about him reading your bare emotions and feelings about him has you feeling like laying out on the road. this was torture!
pepe looked back at you, his smile not leaving his face yet. you returned back to looking in front of you, the bus coming to a sudden halt.
the force made you lean forward; but, pepe quickly put his palm in front of you and his other hand holding onto your shoulder.
you leaned back, looking at him in surprise.
he chuckled, “didn’t want you hitting your head on the chair..”
your face became slightly flushed, a very soft expression on your face, “thank you”
pepe smiled again, his hand letting go of you and returning to his lap.
“are you going to explain the letters now?”
you tried to not show your shock; but, it appeared on your face before you could control it.
you were praying for the bus to drive faster, you just wanted to go to school and avoid him at every opportunity. its hard to ignore him over text. but, it’s even harder to ignore him in person.
“one more stop” you chanted in your head.
pepe sighed with frustration, “come on..anything? as i said im not mad at all! i just really want an explanation or something! please give me something to grasp!”
you saw the bus begin to pull towards your school, your face relaxing.
“please? something?..” he explained.
the bus stopped, the door’s opening quickly. you looked at him before murmuring a small “bye” and speed walking towards the exit.
you could hear pepe calling your name from behind but decided to sprint to the campus, your adrenaline running.
that was the worst 7 minutes and 34 seconds of your life. (yes you were counting.)
pepe was a guy who was sweet, calm but also expressive, and passionate. he was strong willed and smart and honestly, perfect. he was the guy who every girl has had a crush on before, the guy who would be the best boyfriend and would never fail to impress your family, and just be the guy you’d plan on marrying.
he was all of those things. scratch that, he is all of those things. but because he’s all of those things, you know that it couldn’t work out.
“oh my god, i tried catching up to you but you were running for your life!” gianna said out of breath.
you were panting, still recovering from your very quick run to your class.
“he….was…at….the…bus…stop.” you let out with many breaths.
gianna’s face lit up in shock and excitement, her hands covering her mouth.
“no way! spill now!”
you went the whole school day on guard, observing carefully to not run into pepe. it was kind of pathetic, even you could admit it. you were practically on edge and running away from him because you knew that it was getting harder and harder to face him. you did not want to confess, hell, you didn’t want to do anything. you wished you could reverse time and stop your 13 year old self from beginning the disturbing trend of writing sappy love letters addressed to him.
gosh, this whole situation really made you feel insane! it was hard to just let it pass without feeling the pain of embarrassment.
“(name)!” gianna called.
“oh hey gigi!” you smiled.
“hey! any updates?”
you sighed before looking her in the eye, “i’ve been avoiding him all day.”
gianna groaned, “oh come on! you can’t ignore him forever!”
“i don’t want to ignore him. it’s getting really hard to do that. i just, gosh, i really just don’t know what to do.”
“i get it. but i also don’t. what are you so afraid of?” gianna questioned.
you wanted to say ‘everything’. it was true. you were scared of hearing his voice tell you that he didn’t feel the same, his reaction when you tell him it’s true, oh god, it seriously was the most embarrassing thing in the world.
“i’m afraid of the truth. i really wanted to hold onto my crush and just peacefully love him.”
gianna frowned before turning to stand in front of you, both of you guys stopping.
“the truth may be scary. you may expect him to not feel the same; but anything’s possible. while i know how crazy those letters are, trust me, i can say for sure that you shouldn’t ignore him anymore. he deserves an explanation.”
gianna was right, and she knew she was too.
with a sigh, you nodded.
to face him after this all is like opening mary poppin’s bag. there’s no certainty at all, and you knew that it was going to be so uncomfortable.
gianna’s eyes began to drift to behind you, your natural instinct telling you to look.
you turned to see pepe standing behind you, a shy expression reflecting on his face.
“good luck!” gianna cheered before walking out the gate.
“gigi!” you shouted.
she began to skip happily, an obvious taunt to your calling.
“gianna!”
you turned around to look back at pepe, who’s hand was touching his neck shyly.
oh god. you were done for. you could tell that he was annoyed, or maybe angry? fear began to make an appearance on your face, your body staying frozen.
“can we talk now?”

Throwing this in, though I know you have a post saying you're taking a break: I quite like Tetro. The story is exciting, and incredible. You've done an amazing job piecing everything together, and it has lead to me pretty seriously looking into following the footsteps of this project with a story also told in this audio format, since you demonstrated so clearly not only how this was possible, but how this could be done so well for a Killing Game specifically. The latest events, the latest death, as made me incredibly sad, and I feel a lot of emotional turmoil over losing both victims. But despite that, I have enjoyed the loving, losing, and worrying for the future. That's amazing. All of it is amazing. I have my theories and conclusions about who may be guilty and who isn't, but based on the posts I read, I mainly wanted to express an amount of thankfulness that the series exists at all. It's even lead to me writing fanpieces for some character interactions, and I imagine I have a few more in me from all that's gone on. Not only that, but the hard topics of this series have meant a lot to me. Yanagi and Tsuno have especially felt really close to home. The stories they talk about and the things they deal with matter in my own life. And the series as a whole has made me cry over stuff that mattered to me much more than any other media has done in the last year or so, maybe longer, in even broader strokes. All the characters don't just feel like people one could meet, but people I have met. People I have known. And some of those conversations feel just like ones I've had in my own life. You've done something incredible, and the writing has connected to me deeply. And though I can only speak for me, I doubt I'm alone in this. Thank you for this project, and thank you for sharing it so broadly, freely, and completely. Thanks for writing it, and writing daringly, maturely, and earnestly. At least, such are the ways I would describe it.
I hope I can cross paths with you sometime in the future over a creative endeavor. But in the meanwhile, I'll be tuned in to whatever you do for this, and for whatever comes next. As these things are called asks, if you do decide to respond: Who on Tetro is your favorite? Is it the same from when you were initially writing it? And what lead you to choose an audio drama as the medium in question? Thanks, and see ya at the trial.
thank you very very much, im extremely glad that youve been able to connect with my writing on that level and i hope that others have as well! i really enjoyed the writing process for tetro so its always really cool for me when others can enjoy my story as well
also, my favourite is hama! that changed a lot during production, but ive settled on hama as my goat forever i think. sorry to all the other favs i abandoned along the way
i chose the audio drama format because ive always really liked being able to picture things. when i was a kid, i used to fall asleep to audio books every night, and i really liked being able to picture the characters and stories as they were happening. i would always be so disappointed when id go to watch a movie adaptation of a book i liked only to see that everything looked different from in my head lmao.
i also think audio is a really fun format for this type of story! it was a fun challenge to get my points across without having visuals to back my writing. i didnt have very much faith in my ability to do this at first. tetro was originally planned to have a narrator because i didnt think id be able to tell a story without one. when i realized my writing could stand on its own, i took out the narrator and just let myself carry it as best i could. i think it made for some really fun opportunities where the impact of a scene just wouldnt have been nearly as strong if there had been visuals or narration.
i think [Ice Fairy] is a highlight of tetro in terms of audio storytelling - same with [Good Child]. having only audio forces you as the viewer to take a moment to figure out what's happening, which in turn gives you an "oh shit" realization moment that really helps the impact of a scene like [Ice Fairy] or [Good Child]. there are still some more really cool examples of tetro utilizing its format left to come - i hope you enjoy them when they do!

What is the fix that is your favorite qi rong fic??? I want to read it 🥺
When the Sun Comes Up I'll Be There With You by lordydoo!!! It's a really fantastic look into Qi Rong and also one of those fics where an author appears out of the aether, drops a life-changing bombshell on you, and then just disappears forever again.
It's a non-magical modern AU where Qi Rong accidentally finds out that his family really, really doesn't like him very much, and the subsequent emotional spiral that he only manages to bring himself out of when he meets a little kid named Guzi on his fire escape.
The first section is entirely about Qi Rong and Guzi, and then eventually Lang Qianqiu comes into the picture. I think that it's kinder to Qi Rong than canon, but it's also a lot kinder to everyone than canon, seeing as it's a modern AU where things like cannibalism and demonic ghosts and stabbing people with swords are not "par the course." That said, I think that it does an amazing job drawing extremely apt parallels to how Qi Rong's situation and various, complex traumas would have played out in the setting that the author chose, and maybe how things could have gotten better for him if he had the opportunity to pursue a healthier environment.
Also, I think as a modern AU it carries a lot of weight in terms of creating a setting where Qi Rong's experiences can be considered as the traumas they are without being, ironically, overshadowed by things like "getting stabbed through the chest and locked in a coffin for 100 years."
#tgcf#heaven official's blessing#qi rong#fic rec#asks#messages#I'm also always a fan of “relationship conflicts that are NOT unnecessarily dragged out”#as well as “people communicating their relationship issues like people that actually like each other rather than adversaries”#both of which I believe this fic does well!!#I hope my flippant comment does not bely how much I ADORE xie lian from the bottom of my heart#I could read coffin fics for daysssssssss#love my traumatized boys#anonymous#thank you for the ask!! love the opportunity to talk more about this

Explain which fucked up character is more of a twink; Jason or Bruce. Elaborate on why you think this. (12 marks)
Alright So,
Jason is a hunk
He's not a twink, I believe if anyone ever called him a twink he would be so shocked he would forget how to punch them. He's a hunk. A twunk even. He's built, strong looks as big as a fucking closet.
I mean look at this mf
Now his father???
This is what twink death looks like:
And for the definition.
You know those gradients people do with actors and other celebrities when they go from Twink to Daddy? As much as Bruce Wayne isn't my cup of tea.
This is him.
Like– It's literally him
He's the Twink -> Daddy Gotham edition.
And before someone comes in here and says " Oh He's still a twink–" Do not lie to yourself, he can be whatever you want him to be in your heart, but that man is huge, he's a CLOSET. His son is 6,0 and he managed to be BROADER. He's humongous. He can carry bane on his fucking back that's not a twink deed that's a brawny motherfucker he could break our arms like a twig.
I, in fact. I could argue that Bruce Wayne could actually be a bear depending on the artist that draw him (which also makes debatable the argument that Bruce Wayne in fact shaves his chest and I would say that's probably with laser because no razor makes a man chest and abs that smooth.) but I don't think the fandom is ready for that.
On an unrelated note, Jason Todd from Wayne Family adventures is a twink and I will fight people on that–
So in conclusion,
Jason Todd, is a twunk he was never a twink in his life. His father on the other hand was a Twink that evolved to a Daddy, which leads us to the end of my dissertation where measuring which fucked up character is more of a Twink... Bruce Wayne wins the crown, congrats Bruce Wayne you will always be famous.
Thanks for coming to my Ted talk where I say things with enough confidence that makes it seem like I am right. Because I am.
#Now if we're talking of the entire Batfamily Dick Grayson takes the award#and you know what? Good for him. GOOD FOR HIM#I spend too much time on this as someone just take me out#on a date?#I don't know guys be creative#twink Bruce Wayne#can't believe I'm using this tag#this is where my life lead to?#yeah#I suppose it is#And I don't know how to feel about it#thanks for the ask babe I love the opportunity to be more deranged on this site than I was on this past few months#q asks#long post#🦇🐦

hi I like gelato a lot
youtube
#ask#anon#hi anon. sorry that i used this opportunity to talk about the sims 2 console port#ive had this template made and didn't use it for much besides a few jokes to send to friends#but i think it's on par for Gelato to be this knowledgeable about one of his favourite games.#but yeah basically i grew up with the xbox version of Sims 2 and since the xbox was my brothers console. i didnt get to play it a whole lot#and years later i bought the sims 2 on PS2 and noticed a lot of slowdown on actions and stuff#and the golden bolt (i think thats their youtube name) did a video about the console ports of sims 1 & 2 games#and i was kinda confused hearing them talk about how the sims 2 only had one save file (on PS2) because the xbox version had like eight#and so that. paired with me looking through the cutting room floor page of the sims 2#i was kinda curious to see if the xbox version really performed as bad as it does on the ps2 version#because the golden bolt was also talking about that in their coverage of the ports#and so like again. there's only two videos on youtube that I could find of the xbox version#and the ones uploaded by IGN run on the ps2 version. because of the fucking button prompts they show on screen#anyway. so like thankfully one of the only other xbox videos showcased making a sim. and it's. so much fucking faster than the ps2 version#like on the ps2 version. you'd select a hairstyle. wait 5-10 seconds. and then the hair changes and you get the ui element to customize it#press cancel and you wait 5-10 seconds to revert back to your previous hairstyle#on the xbox version though? it's so much fucking faster#i haven't checked gameplay of the gamecube version but ik that speedrunners use specifically just that version of the port?#im not sure why only because i havent done the research to check what's better about the gamecube version#granted. i have to get around to getting an original xbox controller at some point to prove it for myself that the xbox port runs the best#i know it probably wont be perfect due to the disk having a few scratches. but its gotta beat my ps2 copy#im also curious to see how many save files i used. because im almost certain i used like 6-7 of them#just because i kept creating new story modes with almost identical alien sims with mohawks#in my last playthrough. i think i broke that tradition and gave my sim a flatter haircut. i also forget if i made him an alien or not.#i havent played it in a year due to getting my computer and it taking up the space i used for my crt setup#anyway. hi anon. sorry about that. im happy you like Gelato :)#i genuinely love him so much ever since Helper sketched him up. like she absolutely nailed it. literally couldn't ask for anything better#and writing up stuff for him has honestly made me love him so much more#thank you for the ask anon!! :)

youre the person who got me to watch a playthrough of mouthwashing so youre the one i'll ask - who's saying/thinking "i hope this hurts" and who is it directed to?
oh i'm happy/sorry to hear that i'm the one who got you to watch it lol!
honestly this is something that i've wondered a lot myself. despite the fact that i've watched like 5 playthroughs of mouthwashing there are still so many things that i still don't think i've fully grasped - for instance, i was very confused about the point of the nightmare sequence curly has during the first flashback (curly isn't going to do anything, so what's with the ominous red plane and alarms?) until i saw someone in the tag posit that it could represent curly willfully ignoring and wading past all of jimmy's warning signs, and it clicked.
as for "i hope this hurts," like i said, i'm honestly not sure. the simplest answer to me is that it's a representation of jimmy's train of thought; his envy of curly's position and power manifesting as resentment for curly, his looking down on anya and seeing her as something lesser and to be used, his general distaste with swansea (afaik the two of them never have anything nice to say to each other, right?), and his resentment of daisuke as well (for having parents that "have him covered"). everything he does, he does to hurt the rest of them. now i don't think that's his conscious belief - he probably justifies it to himself with the same talk he uses against the rest of them. it's not his fault, he's the responsible one, he deserves to be captain, etc, etc. but at a core level, he's hurting them because he can, and he wants to. it makes him feel better. it makes him feel more powerful. so, i hope this hurts.
realistically i believe this is most likely, however there are plenty of other interpretations of the phrase that hold water too! what's most interesting to me are the places it shows up - namely, at the start of the game, under the rest of the information given about the tulpar crew.
i don't really know if i have anything totally concrete to say about this, but i do find it really interesting that this is how it all starts. if the rest of this information is from a given source, is "i hope this hurts" from that same source too? and if that's the case, who or what is that source? pony express? i honestly doubt "i hope this hurts" is from the company though. pony express isn't malicious, it just doesn't care.
so... dunno where that leaves this train of thought, lol. just something that's been nagging at me. i could be grasping at nothing though! i just think it's really interesting that "i hope this hurts" is important enough to be given to us to frame the entire rest of the game alongside setting the scene of the long haul space freighter.
you could probably construe it to be from curly towards jimmy, if you wanted - perhaps his desire for revenge after jimmy causes what mutilates him, unable to be spoken but manifesting in these words throughout the game. maybe it's jimmy's guilty conscience. maybe it can represent each of the crew members in their own ways.
i'm open to any of these interpretations! one of the best parts of pieces of art like mouthwashing that are so short yet packed full of meaning is that little bits like these can be taken and stretched out to fit so many interesting different viewpoints, so i'm really glad you asked me to share mine! it made me think about this in ways i haven't before :) and i hoped this helped you think about it too!
#mouthwashing#thanks so much for the ask!! i really appreciate it when i get the opportunity to talk w people about stuff i'm into :)#if anyone has their own thoughts on the meaning please let me know!!#there's so many possible interpretations and it's a lot of fun to discuss w others!!#sorry it got so long though lol. i do unfortunately have english major disease#and my thoughts about media analysis often get out of hand..... oh well. hopefully people have shorten long posts on lol.#thanks again anon i'd love to hear if you or anyone else has more thoughts on this :)

I was curious What class was Magnolia family was? Do they have a good relationship with their daughter?
And how was the relationship between nolie's mother and father? ( Like do they hate or love each other or is it neutral)
thanks for answering 🪻
Hello there! Thanks for dropping by and giving me a chance to talk more about Nolie's family! ^_^
So, to answer your questions:
1. The Bensons (Magnolia's family) are part of the upper-middle class. Not super rich, but decently well off, thanks to the business they get from having their lodging house so close to one of the train stations in the City of London district.
2. Magnolia has a pretty good relationship with her parents for the most part. She butts heads more with her mom than her dad (he's the more laid-back parent of the two), but more than half the time they get along. lol
3. Lastly, Olivia and Thomas (Nolie's parents) actually love each other very much. Tom is more openly affectionate out of the two (sometimes embarrassingly so, hehe), whereas Olivia is more private - but make no mistake, even after over two decades of marriage and three kids, the love is still very much there. (After all, Olivia was originally part of the lower-upper class and willingly married "under her station", because she fell so deeply in love with Tom.)
#you don't know how happy this makes me#I love this opportunity to talk more about Nolie's parents#because I've been thinking about them more lately and even creating their own story of how they met#so thank you again nonnie for letting me talk about them!#AC OCs: The Benson Family#AC OC: Magnolia#ask replies

So wait, is Banks Tashi in a Challengers 9line? Charlie as Art and Jesse as Patrick? Or do you see that differently.
that’s exactly how i see it! i mean, of course, it doesn’t line up entirely because there are a bunch of differences between all of these characters lmao. but similar to tashi, who would “stab a child or an old lady” to be able to play tennis again, adam is hockey obsessed to the point that he chooses being able to play over loyalty to a team and/or his friends. king of self-preservation. he’s also the best out of the three and accident prone lmao (aka takes the most risks to win).
meanwhile charlie, like art, is a good player–but he’s not naturally gifted. we see charlie really has to work for it–going from poor (d1) to ok (d2) to good (d3). he’s not always confident about his skills and even talks about becoming a coach (like art thinking of retirement because he believes he doesn’t have it in him anymore).
then there’s jesse who, like patrick, is the biggest shit talker out of the trio with the skills to back it up. in the d2 script & novelization jesse’s often described as being confidently good—with some examples being that he’s “the best skater”, he “bears down and pumps [the puck] in with authority”, he “skated smoothly on goal, then let [the puck] fly with a confident slap shot”. he knows he's good and i think this would've been his downfall in d3 had he been there (but they gave that storyline to charlie instead which made no sense but ok).
like art & patrick, charlie & jesse are childhood friends. like patrick & tashi, adam & jesse connect first. yeah, it’s more “i wanna kill you” vibes, but adam and jesse’s road to friendship is basically one of d1’s biggest storylines. like tashi & art, charlie and adam become much closer later on, esp when jesse disappears in d3 and charlie takes over his role (calling adam cake-eater & leading the ducks/flying v). it’s full circle!!
self-promo but i did write a little (canon divergent) 9line challengers au if anyone wants to read it.
#9line#the mighty ducks#i kept this kinda generic and “canon”#but i 100% think charlie would ALSO intentionally sabotage jesse/adam bc he's jealous & wants their attention#and jesse/adam would def argue about jesse wanting to be seen as an equal...#but it'd be more about disparity in opportunity due to social & racial inequality rather than “i'm as good as you so don't talk down @ me”#thanks for this ask i love it
