As an unwilling Drifter, she envied the spider's homemaking ability, and the fact that they could live their whole lives without leaving said home :(

GREAT QUESTION! my instinctive first answer is yes. i could literally talk to them about obscure points of foreign language and/or grammar, etymology, and vocabulary for hours. (irl i get along really well with the professors in the languages & applied linguistics department. there's precedent is what i'm saying.) i also do like to debate people and i would be beyond delighted if i were having a discussion with someone and they whipped out a well-sourced graph. all of this bodes well

"Hot One" by Leyla Blue, Baby Tate, and Rei Ami. It's the perfect song to play as you dance around getting around for either bed or the day tbh.

14. A song that you would love played at your wedding

As a lover of weddings, I got a lot of them but I always said that if I married someone that spoke Japanese or I was getting married in Japan, I would want Wherever You Are by One OK Rock as my first dance song. It's just so evocative and slow, sad but hopeful, just perfect first dance vibes imho.

25. A song by an artist no longer living

Another toughie because I have a whole playlist dedicated to "vintage" songs and naturally a lot of the artists on the playlist are no longer alive but I have to go with Blossom Dearie. I'm Old Fashioned is one of my faves and perfect for the theme of the question. Plus I feel like I never talk about Blossom Dearie on Tumblr even though she's been one of my fave singers of all time ever since I read "2 AM At The Cat's Pajamas" by Marine-Helene Bertino a few years back.

a little more serious answer: they can tell something is going on with optimus and they desperately want to pretend it's not. they don't want to know how he's aware of things he shouldn't be, how he knows stuff that should have long been forgotten, how he seems to be more familiar with them than he should be. how sometimes he speaks and it's like the dead are talking through him. how sometimes he will answer to empty air and somehow they can just tell what he's responding to. who he is talking to.

they Know. and they really, really want to pretend they don't.

they already carry the guilt of failing them once. the idea of doing it once more is unbearable and they'd rather deceive themselves than face it. they'd rather their friends stay dead and gone than think of them seeing what they've become.

So! When I thought about this headcanon I made up a random summer festival or similar happening every decade where Dalish clans could meet, and then I checked up the lore and... GUYS, IT REALLY EXISTS!!!

From The World of Thedas vol 1: Most Dalish groups tend to keep to themselves. However, once every ten years, clans will congregate in a single, remote location to take part in Arlathvhen, an event meaning "for love of the people".

As some of you may know, my Rook is older than Davrin (about 8 years older), she's usually quite fine with it and made peace with the idea after an inital shock lol but well, sometimes the age difference just comes up again ;) I'm sure Davrin knows how to make her forget about it, though.

Shadow’s inhibitors aren’t designed specifically for him so while they help they don’t completely cut off the chaos so his eyes are duller but still green. and then with Tails’ design for his inhibitors his eyes dull completely, darker than they would’ve looked originally if he’d never come into contact with chaos energy.

And it really is small time stuff (to you)

And you look so much brighter, so kuch healthier and so much happier when Sky leans into your arm around his shoulders, or Twilight let you comb his hair out, or Legend lets you adjust a loose tie or buckle on his tunic or back,

It only took a quick glance around the campfire one night to silently agree to let your human instincts do what they will for your health and happiness (and totally not for the big huge crush they have on-)

After seeing Wild recreate your favorite dessert that night, one from Earth, and you just pounced on him with a hug and spun him around lol

Who gets the most used to your human culture affections the quickest and who still jumps when you hold his hand to guide him thru a crowd lol

And i dont think any of them would be super Annoyed per se, I think there would be misunderstandings at first, and maybe certain Links or collectively you have times where you know not to touch them bc once again, what u see as normal or friendly is A Lot for them,

Like in cooking situations, or mid-battle, or even when some are eating, mostly things that kinda make sense

(Legend claims its annoying but gets pouty when you avoid touching him after he says this, and then leans into whatever form or way ur touching him anyways, so...)

... that lean makes me think of the lean Bdubs did in the syncing comic....which if course begs the question: Did Etho pick up this habit of leaning to indicate processing/suspicion from Bdubs or did Bdubs pick it up from Etho? (or is it just a good way to show that emotion in comic form XD) Also.... the hair clip... My impression is that the flashback is from pretty early on. Is the hair clip a precursor to the well known headband? In universe, why a headband? Since they both do wear headbands... Was the headband originally Bdub's? Is... I know Etho is scared during the whole Last Life thing... is he thinking that Bdubs is planning specifically on targeting one of the androids? Or is that his fear talking?

... And after all that speculating... Ouch, Poor Tango!! ( i know this is an important event for Tango, but we don't see any of his reaction or feelings about any of this yet)

WEEE These are such good questions omg :DDDD alright i couldn't shut up so i'm putting it under a read more =w=

this is basically a mini comic breakdown! just rambling about some of the dbhc plot and mecahnics >:D

The lean is such a fun detail, i didn't even realize the similarities-- but it's actually a really nice (totally intentional) callback! I think Etho absolutely picked up those mannerisms from Bdubs, the same way Doc did from Ren, and so on so forth-- the androids, especially throughout season 8 and last life, are using their partnered hermits (and the other hermits in general) to learn what it means to be and act human-- vocal mannerisms, physical mannerisms, learning emotions for the first time and what it means to feel them, everything! I kind of see Season 8 as their "young" period-- their first season, the season they learn who they are and develop some of their most iconic traits. Etho is still himself, shyness and stoicism and all, but he learns his whimsy and silliness and teasing nature from being with bdubs for so long :)

THE HAIR CLIP <333 Yeah Etho's "Replaying Memory" moment is when Doc was checking out his "wounds" / the damage he sustained (from the initial creeper blast that caused his deviation) for the first time! At the time of the memory, It had probably been a little while since the actual initial incident where Bdubs had covered him up a little bit to hide the damage, but i'm sure doc or someone else noticed before long LDFKGJDF so this is their first like... "checkup"! So Etho is pretty young here (Doc too, but he already has his robot arm at this point, so...), maybe within the first month or two of season 8. So he definitely normally wears a bandana at this point (the same band bdubs made him wear initially to cover up the forehead cracks a little), but he's clipped his bangs back here so Doc can get a better look at the damage :)

I have a LOT of feelings about Etho's mental dialogue throughout last life, and it's very complicated and i won't be able to shut up about it so that's for another post. I will say, I don't think Etho ever truly thought Bdubs would Boogey kill him (though, doubt is a very powerful thing, so it turns out). I think Etho is still puzzling Bdubs out (though he's definitely learned quite a lot about him), especially when it comes to more serious situations like this, so the unknowns are definitely the biggest sources of fear for him. He can only do so much with the data he currently has, and the idea that a weapon so sharp could permanently damage any of the androids... it's an unsettling thought, regardless of whoever the mostly likely victim ends up being. (I don't think Etho expects it to be Tango, either-- not until he sees that look in Bdubs' eyes 10 seconds before it happens. I think Doc's little speech about their models is just helpful information for the reader and a sense of foreshadowing (as well as a reminder for Etho of how Not-So-Indestructible he is/the other androids are), not so much that etho thinks it's going to be tango after recalling the memory. Same for Bdubs. I dont think bdubs decided to target Tango until he was staring the back of his neck down and realized he could take the opportunity before he lost it). Anyway i've already rambled too much /silly

And lastly, Yes. This is, besides his deviation, probably Tango's most formative moment. The second time he truly experiences rage. I don't know if I could do a comic or an illustration that truly does his rage moment justice after he wakes up post-respawn and has a meltdown trying to kill bdubs, but knowing that Skizz wasn't built until s9 and is therefore missing from Last Life (AKA, Tango has no one other than Etho and Bdubs), just... makes this betrayal so, so much more painful. This betrayal is very much about Tango's rage, but it's also about his sense of trust and safety and his understanding of the way the world works. Hermitcraft is safety and jokes and support, and sure there's a bit of death here and there, but this is unlike anything he's ever known-- it's adrenaline and fear and threats and betrayal and. Anyway what a normal meltdown to have! And Etho can do nothing to calm him down except hold him back from killing bdubs (there's something to be said there too, about Tango knowing for certain now that Bdubs obviously chooses Etho over himself (Because come on, Bdubs wouldn't have killed Etho. Let's be honest here), but knowing too that Etho is choosing bdubs by not letting Tango get the revenge he so rightfully deserves...) Anyway. I think i'll explode if i think about this more

HONESTLY i really should give an honourable mention to meta knight/lucario, i just love how much they respect each other. the handshake is so iconic but my favourite moment is actually probably when lucario gestures for meta knight to wait instead of jumping snake lol, just the fact that meta knight actually listens to him and waits for him to do his thing is amazing. the trust he has in lucario really shows there, as well as simply staying back and fighting with him when he could've gone ahead, especially since he was in such a hurry to retake the halberd. then there's lucario being so thorough about finding potential intruders on the halberd and going along with meta knight to help him retake it in the first place! they hit it off so quickly and support each other at every turn and i love that so much. i also think it's really funny how meta knight gets to shine as the more impulsive one in this duo/ship lol, like this is them 100% to me

who yearns harder, alhaitham or kaveh?

this is the second part of the ask i received! the first part discussing alhaitham's yearning is here!

Before moving onto their current relationship in-game, kaveh’s yearning will be explored. I think kaveh’s ‘yearning’ was more his hurt and his mourning over one of the most substantial relationships in his life, as alhaitham effectively filled in the familial role kaveh was missing after the passing of his father and his mother leaving to Fontaine, additionally kaveh also considered alhaitham to be his 'best friend' before their argument

in his voice line kaveh mentions that if they were as close as they used to be he would thank alhaitham for helping him out, meaning that he would have no hesitation in being open with and trusting of alhaitham

Additionally, there’s a romanticism in kaveh using the idea of ‘the universe’ in relation to him and alhaitham, as it seems that fate has led them back together, which for kaveh, is both a negative and a positive due to their differences and the issues these differences have caused, where they were once the cause for the deepness of their bond

Kaveh appears uncertain of why alhaitham would want him around, as alhaitham has seemingly rejected him in the past, so there is nothing he can conceivably offer, and this question is left unanswered

This uncertainty in their relationship can be seen in how kaveh consistently complains about alhaitham, all the while acknowledging that alhaitham has helped him. this creates a parallel in his hangout where kaveh states if he didn’t care about his work, he wouldn’t be so torn up all the time, which can be linked to his treatment of alhaitham (especially as this is from the same route as the talk with alhaitham in the library), which kaveh equates to loving something

Direct parallel or not, I think that alhaitham is equally as important to kaveh as kaveh is to alhaitham, only that due to kaveh’s misconception of alhaitham’s motives, past and present, this regard of alhaitham manifests in a way that can be misinterpreted as dislike, but kaveh’s care is explicit where he asks twice if alhaitham is okay after the encounter with Siraj, in him bringing takeout home for alhaitham, and in him worrying that alhaitham isn’t getting the interaction he deems as necessary when alhaitham misses the group dinner

post-parade of providence, they now stand as equals, and kaveh is open with and trusting of alhaitham, enjoying their conversation in actively telling alhaitham about his day, and offering to help alhaitham research, rectifying their past thesis in cyno's second story quest (which i explore more here and here)

kaveh now actively seeks alhaitham out, which is shown in an odd textual mystery,  where the first thing he wanted to do is inform alhaitham of what happened, which contrasts with kaveh’s claims previous that he doesn’t care what alhaitham does with his spare time, so long as it’s away from him

now kaveh serendipitously bumps into alhaitham in port ormos in nahida’s birthday event, and says that he’s glad they did since he was meaning to talk to alhaitham about his plans, even though he believes they’re completed and 'foolproof' - simply because he wanted alhaitham’s opinion

Overall, I think they’ve both yearned although in different ways, but I am a firm believer that alhaitham fell first, and kaveh fell harder. I think kaveh’s actions of seeking alhaitham out are explicit in this new arc for them, and this highlights alhaitham’s initial pursuit of kaveh in earlier story beats.

They’ve both finally reached the stage where they can reach out to the other, and have this be reciprocated, and they’re just as intolerable as ever <3333

as for suguru…….. respectfully: he is kissing your forehead + turning off the stove + escorting you out of the kitchen 💀 he’s the chef in this relationship i fear. just doesn’t see the point in endangering the both of you when he’s more than happy to do all the cooking... however!!!! if you’re adamant on learning i think he’d give you cooking lessons :3 you’re both wearing aprons and he guides you with his hands….. i think he’s a little too happy about your awful cooking skills tbh . gives him an excuse to mother you

this is a just bonus thought but !! since cult leader!geto’s taste buds are dulled in my mind, i think he would honestly just eat your food …… this guy gobbles curses for a living, his stomach is made of steel. gives you a soft smile and thanks you for the meal because he really is grateful that you took the time to make him something, even if it didn’t end up super tasty :’) there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for you
