🦉- Have they ever had a bad experience with an owl?

Daria's only experience with an owl (and let me be clear she would definitely categorize it as bad) was when one flew into her balcony door and knocked itself out. She was terrified the little guy had hurt himself, so she went outside to check on him with animal control on comms. Fortunately, the owl was just fine. Unfortunately, Daria found out he was just fine while her face was hovering over him. There was a great deal of screaming from both Daria and the owl, who gave her a few good scratches on his way off of her balcony. Apparently, clean glass was a struggle for him because he immediately flew into another balcony door across the courtyard.

🦸- What superpowers do they have? (And if they don't have any what superpower would they have?)

Daria is Force sensitive, but it's too weak for her to be a Jedi, which was just fine with her parents. She is however highly perceptive. She almost always knows when someone is lying or being insincere, and she has an uncanny ability to pair people together both romantically and platonically, which she discovered at university, and it led to her highly successful career as a matchmaker.

For your get to know your tav questions: can I ask 4-6, please?

4. What would your Tav’s romance scenes look like? How many would they have?

I feel like Maeve would be very slow to romance!

She's a service personality. She feels as though she owes a debt to just about everyone, simply for being around her. She's a person who feels like she has to earn her place around others. This being the case, I think her advances might simply be seeking to be wanted, broadly, at first. Someone, anyone. And, course, she'd feel surprised if the feelings were reciprocated- and may not even believe the player at first. A quick laugh. ...Oh, you're serious.

I think a lot of her romance would be convincing her that she can be on the receiving end of acts of service as well. The receiving end of kindness. That she doesn't have to buy people's affections.

Maeve's romantic scenes would be quiet. Something gentle. Perhaps she invites the player to come and take a bath with her, which seems like it could be a bit Spicy, but it would just be her, gently washing their hair, and talking.

"You make me feel like a person. Like a real person. Without even having to try and fake it."

5. Describe their idle animations!

Maeve, despite being rather young, has aching bones from leaning over mortar and pestles all day. There's always a crick in her back that she can't quite pop- she strikes me as someone who would be stretching a lot, just to get some feeling back.

That, and swaying. She struggles with standing still for too long, so she would sway back and forth, heel to toe!

6. How would the player go about meeting them in Act 1? What is their introduction?

The transition from being in the city, to being in the middle of nowhere, would have been... Rough on Maeve. I think the player would find her, curled up under a tree on the road down to Auntie Ethel's. She'd have stuffed a bunch of herbal components into her pockets, looking for some familiar comfort. Mugwort and lavender smell like home. Autumncrocus smells like her mother.

It would have been clear that she was crying, but the moment that she's found, she would try and gently play it off. I'm fine! I'm okay! Are you okay? She'd suddenly become very hyperfocused on their issues, to draw attention away from her own.

And then, of course, their tadpoles would connect. I would suspect that the narration would describe her history as "simple". "Quiet", even. Maeve would ask to come with a group, rather than having to be asked herself- she wants to be surrounded by people, and to be wanted.

😅 What's a story or scene you've created that you're a smidge embarrassed exists?

There's a makeout scene in my Formula 1 AU that I am simply unable to reread. Like, there was a lot of build-up to it and I think it's a satisfying moment in the chapter, but writing that scene stressed me out so much and I had to think so hard about choreography and like, whose hands were where that I just can't go back. I hope it's good; I'll never be able to tell.

😈 Has there been a point in a story where you did something just to be playfully mean to your readers?

There's a chapter of the Bake Off AU where Sam and Bucky have a deep conversation at sunrise and Bucky gives Sam a heartfelt gift and it's all perfectly romantic and you can practically hear swelling violins and then I made an oven timer go off so Sam like ran away and the moment dissipated. I think every single comment on that chapter involved at least one line of someone being like "BUT WHY DIDN'T THEY KISS????" and that was great.

How hard is it for you to approach new people you want to interact with? It depends... Some people I click with really well right away and other people I feel like I'm just annoying them. I rarely follow people first, at least lately. It's kinda hard to say, I mean right now it's really just my social battery is very low. Normally I'd usually try to send memes if there are any that make sense (aka for my muse to say to theirs), or respond to an open, like a starter call. I used to message people after they'd follow me (and I follow back) to say hello and mention that I'd love to start up a thread or that I am excited to write with them, but I've kinda stopped doing that because a lot of people often took that as me having plot ideas and I absolutely do not, giant stress, so I have for the most part stopped doing that. I guess I'm like, ish? At it? Consider this part of my ever-WIP-communication-skills.

Stranger making small talk, yay or nay for you? I'm answering this strictly for online small talk. And even then I still suck at it and "small talk" just doesn't make much sense to me, it feels pointless and so awkward and it always goes nowhere. Just yell at me about your muses or our muses or about the new muse you're thinkin' about or send me some funny memes or tiktoks or pictures of animals. Like what even is small talk? I'd rather get a random message at like 4am about some random new headcanon about your muse.

Does knowing the other mun make writing threads easier or harder? Neither! We can barely talk at all or only in hashtags of our replies and I'll still have a good heckin' time. Or we could be yelling at each other about the latest weird meme I just sent you and same energy lovin' the thread. I don't really feel it makes much of a difference for me.

Should people be nervous to send you things at all? Absolutely not, ya'll, I'm a potato over here, do not be nervous you can literally come into my messages and start yelling at me about your muse or whatever and I will vibe with that energy. Legit you can send me six messages in a row I will not be phased, I'll in fact be happy that I am the chosen one. Just come at me. Tag me in random ass starters, send random ass memes in the ask box, message me to ask about a thread or a ship or literally anything, literally anything, send me a picture of your cat. Or your dog, or your ferret I don't care, if it's an animal send me the picture. Come at me full throttle.

Emergency: Help save my children's lives

Dear humanity,

I am Habib from Gaza. I am married and have four children: Menna, 12 years old, Adam, 10 years old (suffering from quadriplegia), Maria, 6 years old, and Ezz, one year old. Although they are young, they have survived previous wars, but this current war is the most difficult of all. This is a war of genocide, and the difficulty of the war lies in the inability to meet the needs of my son Adam, who needs special care.

Over the past ten months, we have been caught in the crossfire of the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Our once peaceful home in Khan Yunis has been reduced to rubble, and now we find ourselves displaced in Deir al-Balah, living in squalid conditions in a makeshift tent on the streets. The devastation not only deprived us of our physical shelter, but also destroyed my livelihood - the once thriving business that supported our family's well-being, is now in ruins. The daily struggle for survival is exacerbated by the scarcity of basic necessities such as clean water, adequate sanitation and basic medical supplies

Our home was the place where we found hope and safety, and where we made precious memories. Losing him was like losing years of our lives.

Not only that, they destroyed my source of livelihood, burned it, and demolished it with bulldozers, and today I am without a home and without a job. I was working in a store I owned that met the needs and expenses of my family

Living in tents is miserable. There is a lack of drinking water, hot sun rays, and strange insects that have terrified my children. What hurts me most is my young son Ezz, who I see growing up in an unclean environment and with no healthy food for him. I believe he has not received his right to life.

At this stage, my husband and I decided to go to you and create an account on the Go Fund Me website and ask you to help us in these difficult times until we get out of Gaza, from the land of war to the land of peace. We will spend it by paying the amount to coordinate entry through the Rafah land crossing, which connects Gaza to the State of Egypt, since, as I mentioned, they charge an adult $5,000, but depending on the pressures, crises, and waiting, the amount may reach $7,000 per person, and children $2,500 to $4,000.

We will also use it for the rest of the travel and safe transportation expenses to provide for all family members.

okay so, everyone is always telling buck that eddie has a resting bitch face, right? and buck is so so so adamant that he doesn’t and he fights everyone on it. he really can’t understand what people mean. he’s baffled when chimney makes jokes about eddie scaring patients with his stony expression. he is so confused when maddie tells him she was a bit intimated by eddie before they ever talked. buck just can’t believe that this is something people think.

until one day hen shows buck a video of eddie just chilling at the station while reading a magazine. and he looks so serious, so frowny. a little bitchy if buck is being totally honest. and then, in the video, buck walks up the stairs and as soon as eddie sees him he lights up. suddenly he’s all sunshine and rainbows. he’s all smiley and he just looks so soft.

and that’s how buck finds out that eddie does have a resting bitch face but buck never sees it because eddie always looks ecstatic when buck is near.

i got my isbn today for the book. 8 months to go. my mom and i were talking about what the next steps are. i was eating trail mix, standing on one foot, phone tucked into my ear.

"yeah," i said. "the problem is that tumblr as a market is like, not something that can be studied." there's this weird wave of nostalgia and affection for this place that came up over me: how lovely we avoid consumerism. okay, it sucks as a creator. but also? keep stickin' it to 'em.

my mother made the sound at the back of her throat that i also make, the one that means i've got an idea. "you should figure out some kind of reward for presale amounts. maybe you give out poems or a mug or a signed book or something. would your followers like that?" my mother is sweet, and kind, and i have no idea how to explain on this website you can buy someone crabs.

i put more m&ms down the hatch. i had to speak through peanuts and almonds. "if it passes 25 thousand i will print the book out in its entirety and eat it live on camera."

"oh god. no, you don't have to do that." she was anguished. "just tell them that you'd love them to read it, and that they've inspired you to write. you got started on that site, and they helped you keep going. raquel, you love these people. the community? you talk all the time about the other writers and artists and whatever else. tell them that you're hoping for their support, they'll come through."
