ahhh! today marks the anniversary of me starting this blog!! it’s amazing that it’s been a year, and i’m so glad for everyone who has engaged with this blog over the past year—i was a lurker in the agblr community for YEARS because of i wasn’t sure how being so book-focused would be received, so it’s been so lovely to have this blog become what it is. thank you all so, so much.

now, i’m not sure if it’ll be of interest to anyone but me, but i did go through my blog with the tumblr top ten tool to see what posts of mine were most popular, so that’s below the cut with some of my thoughts about the posts if you are interested. otherwise, i‘ve had a empty sideblog about another ag character floating around for months that’s set to start posting soon, so see you over there!

alright, my top ten posts over this past year of the blog! (i used the 2024 and 2025 function separately and then organized the posts myself in case anyone is confused about how this list came about.) also, if you happen to know how to see your posts with the least amount of notes, PLEASE let me know because i want to see those so badly!

1. the comments on the samantha movie post

welp. i knew this was going to be my top post because it absolutely escaped containment, but it’s not a post i’m particularly proud of. i genuinely nearly did not post the screenshot because i was worried it was a litttttle mean-spirited, and i did end up posting it in part bc i was a MUCH smaller blog at the time and did not think many people would see it.

2. the coldrock house post

in contrast, i’m so happy this is my second top post! it’s the first meta-type post i made and i’m very glad i whenever those posts resonate with people.

3. the perfect dress pastimes post

basically not my post bc all i did was upload a picture i found on pinterest, but it is a cool pleasant company publication and i would love to see more of them.

4. the samantha web weaving post

oh my god??? i adore this post and am really proud of it, but it spent MONTHS with very few/average-for-me notes. it definitely eventually escaped containment a bit, but in this case i’m so glad for it.

5. the reminder-that-this-is-a-hobby post

I NEARLY DID NOT POST THIS AND WAS SCARED THAT I WAS GOING TO GET BACKLASH ONCE I DID.

6. the cornelia/sam/growing up post

really happy for this one:) this also spent at least a month in drafts before i finally got it to a point where i was satisfied with the phrasing, and even then i did not think it would be one of my most popular posts.

7. the posh peanut post

nearly didn’t post this one as well for the same reasons as 5!

8. the helen marye pictures post

these pictures are still so adorable and i still think they’re VERY sam. this is another post that did kinda escape containment, since some historical photo/aesthetic blogs picked it up.

9. the moodboard for samantha post

yay!! happy to see this one as well. i love making the moodboards (and i made this one on a slow day at work), and i do think i am most proud of this one still.

10. the admiral beemis/mr. garcia meme

it IS so funny when ag knocks you over the head with historical foreshadowing. love the contrast in portraits in this meme as well.

Welcome to my ski jumping Instagram following analysis that literally nobody asked for (I am in need of new hobbies btw)

For this I analysed all male jumpers who scored world cup points this season (67 in total).

The most follower has Zyla (412.000), followed by Stoch (396.000) and Kubacki (353.000). Wellinger is fourth and the first none polish jumper with around 165.000 followers.

Bartolj (1.090), Marusiak (1.233) and Imhof (1.331) have the least followers.

The FIS Instagram has a following of around 95.700 people. Jumpers who have a higher following than this and can be considered "bigger than the sport" (you get what I mean hopefully) are Zyla, Stoch, Kubacki, Wellinger, Kot, P. Prevc, R. Kobayashi, Kraft and Geiger.

On average a male ski jumper has 45.007 followers. Jumpers who have an over average following are the above and Tande, Forfang, Hayböck, Leyhe, Granerud and D. Prevc.

A few things that surprised me are that Kos is the only jumper out of the top 10 in WC that has less than 10.000 followers. Especially since he is basically carrying team Slovenia in terms of content imo. Also, Sundal has just 3.363 followers which seems low considering he was on the podium this season. I thought that Stoch has the most followers tbh and not Zyla but apparently I was wrong.

Let´s move on the nations in general.

As you can see Poland obviously has the most followers on average (who is suprised? Not me). USA has the least.

A thing to point here is that Japan is being carried heavily by Ryoyu. Without him team Japan would be just above Switzerland. Also, the second most following in team Japan has Junshiro.

This trend can be seen in team Slovenia as well. Peter has almost triple as much followers as his brother Domen, who has the second most followers in the team. Interestingly if we would count Cene in this statistic too, he would be number 3 in terms of following (in front of Timi, Anze, etc.). So we can see that jumpers with successful siblings maybe get a boost by this.

Team Norway feels the most homogeneous. The main guys (Danny, Johann, Halvor, Robert, Marius) have pretty similarly following. It is a spread from around 30.000 between them but that is nothing compared to team Austria for example (Stefan has over 70.000 more followers than Michi in second). The reason for that is that team Norway has noone who has that really big following. All the other top teams have at least one jumper who is sticking out.

From the small teams (with just one person in the standings) Ipcioglu has the most followers with over 30.000, which is quite remarkable for a jumper who isn’t from a ski jumping nation.

Looking at my old blog ( @cocoabubbelle ) from time to time that tumblr kicked me out of and refused to accept the proof that it was mine feels like peeking through the windows of a house that I used to own but had my key inexplicably stolen, my ownership papers ignored, and me wondering if my old things are still loved or if they are collecting dust and if my old neighbors know what happened to me.

Hey there! Just here to announce a few changes that will happen here for at least the next two months:

First and more striking: I won't post any new (finished) art until I get enough buffering to do it here and in my other socials. (Not that I have nothing new to post but I want to prioritize quality over quantity this year).

I'll start to self-reblog my art now and then each week/every two weeks in parallel to keep cleaning up my queue (because my art deserves a second chance YAY).

If I post something, it will probably be a reply to an ask/request (hype about ideas is easy draw-fuel for me) or promoting teasers for fanzines I'm participating in this year.

I will ONLY break these rules if I decide to participate in an Art Challenge/Week (prompts never fail to move my brain juices).

All of this results from currently falling into creative burnout :') (that started early the past year but reached its peak after stressful events during Nov-Dec) and because I really need a good rest from the freneticism of social media... I will focus on my OC projects in the meantime, which means reserving that energy when I work on their concepts and such.

I admit I want to challenge myself to be more mindful of how I spend my energies online: I lost track of certain activities irl, and it will do good for me to resume books and series I left half there x'D

And that's all! I will keep lurking and poking here now and then, and of course, supporting my people! But for now, this flying squirrel will go back to her cave and put some order to it before Spring comes x)
