thoughts on the batman shadow x joker sonic? literally thought to myself.. "oh, this is fanfic material i KNOW people are gonna write about this" and you came to my mind 😭

First off, I am HONORED that I came to mind for this!! My little sonadow brainrot brain is always coming up with new ways for our favorite idiots to fall in love. With that being said I actually struggle with this ship 😅

The Joker isn't someone that I can swap Sonic with. Their personalities are two different. I see The Joker as being more of a match for Scourge.

At their core, I see Sonic and Shadow as the grumpy sunshine trope. While Batman is definitely a good match for Shadow, the Joker has a layer of cruelty (amongst other things) that Sonic doesn't fit. DC universe wise, I see this more as a Batman/Superman thing.

You have the traditional, optimistic, fight for what's right, defend the defenseless orphan (at least biologically) and then you have Batman whose trauma haunts him, who seems the type to cross the line for the greater good, and who is emotionally closed off. These two characters don't have what I would say is a traditional rivalry, but they do square off before they realize they're on the same side (I'm going off mostly DC movie lore guys, don't come at me).

Do you have anything to say about your loz cryptid au?

Oh! Gosh I've really been neglecting cryptid au haven't I? I'm sorry, I've gotten a bit stuck on where to take it but really do love the littles so much

Hmm trying to remember what I've shared, I don't think I've gone too much into the goddesses dynamics? Since they're a little more involved (it's an overload of their power that's affected Link and Zelda) I've been trying to flesh out how they think and act a bit more.

Farore is the youngest, she's full of energy and life. She's very passionate and emotional and the most willing of her sisters to take risks. She represents courage, but courage without wisdom can be reckless and it shows when she's left to her own devices. She's very impulsive and tends to make quick decisions based on how she feels rather than taking the time to consider long-term consequences. It's why she saved Links life, she was fond of him and how much he admired and respected her handiwork. She couldn't stand the thought of the world losing such a kind soul so soon but it never crossed her mind what her direct touch could do to a mortal. She never thought to consider how Link would feel about being brought back.

Nayru is the middle child in a sense. She's calm, elegant and graceful as flowing water. She's the wisest of her sisters, and her decisions tend to be the most solid if she ever actually makes them. She's an overthinker and spends so much time weighing all her options that she often loses the moment to act. She's very careful, perhaps overly so, about intervening in the world of mortals. Prayers to Nayru, while tending to yield the most favorable results if answered, often seem to fall on deaf ears. Zelda prayed endlessly for years for strength from her patron goddess to secure her kingdom, but by the time she got a response, it seemed like too much, too fast and maybe too late...

Din is the oldest and by far the strongest, she dwarfs her sisters in raw power. She holds so much of it that the world of mortals and their plights seem far below her; she finds her sisters' supposed obsession with their trivial matters foolish. Din is hard to read and a bit of a mystery. Even her own sisters, the beings supposedly closest to her level, struggle to try to understand how she thinks. If anyone were to manage to catch Din's attention or tap into her power even her sisters aren't quite sure what that would mean for the world they created together.

Does anyone in your crew get a pass to act chummy with other pirates outside of your crew? Like the Strawhats or Shanks?

The question brings with it an immediate air of hostility; umbrage, displayed in tensed brow and teeth bared in a snarl like a taunted dog. The mention of Red Hair's name could only be used as bait to provoke him into an impassionate rage. They knew what they were doing by bringing him up in the context of hypothetical companionship; this was a pointed attempt to piss him off, and it was inevitable it would be effective. Kid wonders if he should even bother following through with clarification, when the dead don't have any use for exposition. Tempting as it may be to answer the matter with bloodshed, he'll hold back the urge with both hands gripping his temper's leash. He'll take that hanging bait, and he'll sink his canines into it for the sake of not looking like a pushover who's lenient with his crew gallivanting off with whomever they may please. Hell, maybe some of his men could do with a refresher on how things operate under his command. He knows exactly what this is about; a certain golden-eyed Straw Hat who's found herself a comfortable spot in his bed.

❝ Ya come to my face and start askin' questions about how I look after my men, yer gonna go home in a coffin. Ya got some damn fuckin' nerve. ❞

The threat is punctuated with a pronounced scoff.

When he speaks, Kid's voice is low; austere, unyielding. This is not an open debate, and nothing he says it up for further discussion.

Though he trusted each and every one of the members of his crew with his life, he didn't trust others with an ounce; he needed to know who to hunt down if anyone went missing, and who would need to compensate with blood if anyone was hurt.

❝ Thing is, if one of my men gets attacked, I expect him to be able to defend himself. If he can't, I'll have to step in and do it for him. Either way, if shit goes south and that partnership turns sour, I ain't willing to lose one of my crew over it. It's kill or be killed. Everyone on this side of the ocean was out for blood. He couldn't afford to let his guard down; not when he knew the colossal damage misguided trust could do firsthand.

Power dynamics were always at the forefront of Kid's mind, with the stronger members of his crew being granted the most freedom. If Killer, Heat, or Wire, for example, were to inform him that they were spending some spare time with a rival crew member, Kid wouldn't being opposed to it. When he didn't perceive a rival pirate to be a threat, he didn't believe there was much to be concerned about. They had earned their status as his strongest men, and he wouldn't condescend them by fussing over their safety when he knew they could handle themselves. When the power balance was in favor of the enemy, however, he tended to be more wary.

A pause, then, somewhat stiff; grumbled words, like he's coming clean about something he doesn't particularly enjoy admitting, though he considered the statement valuable enough to verbalize.

My personal headcanon because its like a lore and so many Lucifer's characters have this except for OM Luci is that Lucifer hated humanity, he dispised us so much he led a rebelliom took 2/3rd of heaven and lost, but in OM one of the main reason for the fall was Lilith, but ive just thought maybe he was jealous of his fahter love for humans and then he saw Lilith fall in love with a human and started to realise that humans were lost and new, and Luci saw the hate for humanity but also the beauty, he saw them as "wow these humans have come so far, no one wonder father said to look out for this new species" and MC just learning this and being like

"Humans suck...but we god damn try"

If it remember correctly Lucifer states that there were other reasons they had their rebellion aside from Lilith, who was the tipping point. So a hatred of humanity could’ve been one of them as well!

Because you’re right, in every other version of Lucifer he has this hatred for humans, assumingely from his pride/jealousy. Lucifer in OM seems very apathetic to humans, the infamous “I’ve never cared when humans breed” line and his general attitude seem to solidify that. And given his rank and role, he probably didn’t interact with humans all that often.

Lilith’s lover definitely started the ball for him acknowledging humanity’s positives, he says her lover was a good man. Any compliment from Lucifer is sacred. So for Lucifer who is so protective of his family especially so in this specific circumstance, it’s huge. It’s a huge compliment.

Unfortunately they fought and fell after that so any feelings of humanity were mostly spoiled. I’m not sure any of them felt after the fall but Lucifer wasn’t seeing the positives of humanity anymore.

And MC just concludes those thoughts he had before the war, there is so much good in humanity that he can now see. And I think it’s the trying that aids in that perspective.

7. Your favourite tropes to read/write/draw

(I love them all the same, but it is slightly different for each, so I'm making a destinction)

Read: Honestly, kidnapping. I love characters getting kidnapped, and their loved ones worrying/rescuing them. This also includes more-or-less any type of 'going missing'-plot (incl. Char A just running away themselves). Just the feeling of "I have no idea where or how they are, and if they're even still alive", and then the relief when they meet again. Hmmm

Write: 'The world has been cruel and hard to you - therefore I won't be. I want to show you the beauty it has to offer, too <3' This is the best way I can describe it. Characters who've just had a rough time/life being unconditionally cared for and supported. Getting everything their heart has desired for so long. Short: Hurt/Comfort

Draw: While I have yet to draw this myself, actually (because humanoids are hard), any drawing of one character being hurt or scared, while another stands over them caringly and protectively - obviously willing to kick some ass if needed - has me go wild.

8. You hope more people will come to appreciate ___ (a ship, a trope, an episode, etc)

I understand that some people find the market oversaturated by now - that's valid - but still: Redemption

I love redemption so much. I want the story to gently cup a character's face and say "You are broken, but not beyond repair. You can get better, and be happy, and be surrounded by people you love and that love you back." They don't even necessarily need trauma or have gone down a super dark path, I also enjoy: "Character is a massive jerk, and we follow them down the road of being less of a jerk". These are honestly the main reasons both the 'Good Uncle Sly' and 'Apple Cousins' AUs exist.

There are few exceptions I can think of, of villains I'm personally obsessed with, and have not made a version of, where they are redeemed. I look at Reginald Bushroot, and Camille Chameleon, and the Dark Curse - and while for some more than others - there will usually be something at the back of my mind asking: "What if you didn't have to? What if you found love? What if you got to live a quiet, gentle life? What if one day you realized you live in a reality you would never have imagined come true? In a good way? What if everyone could be okay?"

11. If you're a writer or artist, what fic or piece of art are you proud of making?

Fic: Family Discount

I was honestly surprised how many people liked that fic. Between 11 fics in total, this one definitely has some of my favourite comments (and it also has a surprsing amount of comments, I didn't expect that tbh). I was a little worried about posting a fanfic chapter-by-chapter, because the last time I tried that I basically (though not officially yet) stopped after one, because I can't write slice of life, it seems.

But so many people got emotionally invested in my writing, and I honestly didn't expect that? But even though I'm forced to take a semi-long break (for exam reasons), it is extremely motivating, and makes me feel that (as vague as it sounds), my stories do do something. How much joy the stuff you make can bring other people, is honestly so cool. Even if it's just a little fanart, or an ask, or a slightly-self-indulgent fanfic :)

I'm proud of having actually got this far, and also having written something me and other people love to read

I'm actually a little embarassed of this drawing, which I know sounds counter-intuitive to the prompt, but I swear, there is a reason it's here!

This is my first, and currently only drawing of the Flim-Flam-Brothers

I had basically no idea what I was going to do with their designs, and I also only had 60min, with limited tools (because Colormari)

But the thing about this drawing, was that our prompt was basically just "New Years Resolutions". And mine was that I wanted to create more art, without getting bossed around by my inner sense of cringe. Because, while I have absolutely no problem with ranting and rambling and talking about my favourite characters all over the place; as soon as I want to put them into any form of art, my organs feel like they'll turn me inside out. It's the reason this blog has dozens of rambles about how much I love Darkwing Duck, and yet zero art of any of its characters (made by me).

But I made this - and kept it around - even though I knew the characters wouldn't look the best.

So this is the drawing I'm most proud of, because it actually exists :)

Mmmmm, V.olo's belly and intestines would definitely be of great help! 🥺 Imagine if they had healing abilities tbh! Like, no matter how exhausted or sick we are, some hours of rest inside of him and we're feeling like brand new! x3 and of course he'd love that! It'd be a whole different experience with a tiny wriggling person though, so he'd be surprised at first to feel us slide down and past his collarbone after swallowing us ❤️ and then we realize no harm is done in his belly and it's actually a soothing event for the both of us, and it turns into a pleasant habit from that moment forward x3

His team would really adore us imo! Like, we could sit down with his T.ogekiss and H.isuian A.rcanine by a bonfire and discuss various topics, like myths and the inscriptions/pictograms found in some ruins as we pet our mons 😭❤️ it'd just be a good time between close friends!

Hello anon! LOL okay I never expected to get into Samosa Discourse on my Star Trek blog but I happen to love food and history and the history of food so here we go😂

You are correct that samosas are not native to Kenya- and yes, India is by far the country most associated with samosas in the popular imagination (for good reason, samosas are pretty much omnipresent throughout India!) But while samosas are not originally from Kenya, that doesn't mean (imo at least) that they cannot be counted as part of Kenyan cuisine. (Which I didn't even necessarily do in that post, but I understand your position so I'll elaborate on those terms!)

Kenya is a multi-ethic country made up of several African peoples and migrant communities, including Kenyan Asians. Now, the history of South Asians living in/trading with East Africa goes back centuries, but there was also this huge (and deeply colonial) boom in the Asian population during the late 1800s-early 1900s when the British sent tens of thousands of indentured Indian labourers to Kenya to build the Uganda railway. (There is a LOT more history I could get into re the British East Africa Protectorate and the complicated social dynamics between African & Asian communities at the time, but that's not really relevant to samosas so I'll spare you.)

Anyway, modern day Kenya still has a considerable South Asian population, and as such (again not getting into the more complicated social dynamics here), Kenyan cuisine has a lot of Indian (and Arab) influences. But beyond that- Swahili culture(s) and cuisine(s) evolved over centuries of interaction between the various (predominantly Bantu) peoples of East Africa and traders from West, Central & South Asia (who brought in- among other things- their own spices), so cultural intermingling has always been a staple of the East African coast (which is geographically SO close to Asia!) If you were to walk around some of the bigger, more Asian diaspora-heavy cities of Kenya, like Mombasa or Nairobi, you'd find plenty of chicken/fish-based coconut curries & stews that strongly resemble Indian ones- as well as rice-based dishes like pilau & biriyani, rotis, chapatis, bhajias (called 'bajjis' in certain parts of India), kheemas, kebabs- and yes, samosas. Or sambusas, as they're often called in Kenya.

And what's more- the samosa (originally 'samsa' iirc) likely originated in Central Asia in the first place! It still goes by other names in West Asia and North Africa too; as do several other dishes-in-common. In fact, kuku paka (a dish I mentioned in the post that prompted this ask) is a Kenyan chicken curry with distinct Indian & Arabic influences. So if samosas can qualify as Indian cuisine (which, they undoubtedly do), imo they can qualify as a part of Kenyan cuisine too! Anyway I'm truly sorry I let this ask get SO far away from me lmao, I guess I've always felt a bit alienated by this growing tendency in Asian & African communities to sort of rigidly and unquestioningly (even proudly) uphold colonial divides when our cultures are actually so sprawling and ancient? Like sure, we are not monoliths, and it is important that people learn that- but also, so many political borders across both continents didn't even exist as they are today even a hundred years ago. It's so cool how much there is in common! Food, like so many other aspects of culture, is often migratory and full of varied influences, and that's just so deeply human and beautiful and fascinating to me

This is one of those things that I default to the phrase "different strokes for different folks", it's not my cup of tea, but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it.

I personally have a huge phobia of most things pregnancy related due to personal and medical reasons that I'm not going to get into. It's something I genuinely don't want to read or write about, but I know there are some fantastic writers who dabble in this, and that it can be a popular trope in fandoms :) that is a-okay by me, and I am glad that people enjoy this!!

If we're talking from a fanfic writer's pov, I have written dwobbit Frodo before, as the child of Thorin and Bilbo, but I prefer to go the "cabbage patch hobbits" route with that one, or some variation of that.

With my thoughts I'll end on this: there is no right or wrong when it comes to liking or disliking things. Everyone is different, and while we may not all agree on something, we have to respect that everyone is going to have a differing opinion one way or another. Let's all be nice, respect one another, and enjoy content together (on our terms, not based on what everyone thinks we should enjoy or not enjoy).

I actually based my clownsona off the Perriot breed of clowns. They're a mainly black and white caricature with hints of red. (Tho I did add a few more colors) I used to have a real struggle with color in my art (too many of them, too saturated, etc.), so I tried to give myself some limitations in hopes the outfit would look better than the normal things I make.

Back to your query, hmmmm… what would they taste like? A sona is a bit like its creator, so I wonder if I would taste like black liquorice. If I had a boyfriend I would ask, but alas I am single.

Honestly, I think they'd be like one of those multilayered jawbreakers that you suck on and each layer is a different flavor. So maybe one of those layers is black licorice, yes! <3

so cotton candy is a 90s au; tae, oc's childhood friend, is a photographer and model. this fic doesn't have a super detailed or deep plot, it's literally just slice of life and a story about a friendship morphing into deep love. very old school, nostalgic aesthetic. it's one of the most comforting fics i've ever written and i think i'll always be in love with it. hope you will be, too <3

then, run like a river is an ex2l fic about producer yoongi who returns to his hometown after retiring and finds his bubbly ex still there. they don't have a super painful or hateful relationship with each other as usual in ex2l stories, but they start finding their way back to each other with time. it'll be a soft, soothing fic, especially since this is how i imagine their hometown (that's darjeeling irl!! so pretty).

andddd i think timbre could turn into a reader fav. it's gonna be a trilogy! singer and brother's best friend jk who's always been in love with oc, but she doesn't really know or realise until he rises further in popularity and starts dating someone else. chaos ensues!! which is all i can say :')

I’m not a Christian (although I was raised Christian and live in one of the most Christian/Conservative states in the US) but it is so incredibly comforting to see a Christian spread love and unity and acceptance. But it also makes me sad that you seemingly haven't met more christians like me, I'm not unique in my views, but I've seen too many people online share your experiences. It is disheartening that people who say they share my religion -at least to me- seem to live in direct opposition to what I believe to be core values of christianity.

Not to preach to you, but this got me thinking of the verses that in Sweden sometimes is called "the little bible" ie the core message of the Bible:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." - John 3:16-17 KJV (bolding and italication by me)

To me, my faith is built upon a God who loves each and every one of us. More than we can realize. And that love is unconditional. It doesn't matter what mistakes I do, who I am or who I surround myself with. Nothing I can do or be will make God love me less. In Swedish the word for neighbour (nästa) actually is closer to mean "the one next to me". But what does neighbour mean?

In Luke 10 Jesus get asked that very same question and he replies with a story - the good samaritan. A story of how a man gets beaten up, robbed and left for dead by the side of the road. Twice righteous and upstanding men of society walk past him, until a samaritan comes by. The samaritan helps him, way beyond what would be expected of a stranger. And Jesus concludes the story by asking his questioner: who was that man's neighbour? And the answer is of course the samaritan.

Nowadays - due to this story - we view the word "samaritan" as something positive, but at the time Jews and Samaritans were not friends, quite the opposite actually. It is quite remarkable that both the times the Samaritans are brought up in the gospels they are examples of good. That says more about Jesus than the general consensus at the time.

I read an article years ago that raised the same question: who is my neighbour nowadays? And the answer was basically: all who in some way come in contact without whom my decisions affect: my coworker, the worker at my supermarket, the immigrant, the stranger online commenting on my post, the person sewing my jeans in Bangladesh etc etc. To all these I should strive to give as much help as possible.

And of course that doesn't mean I should need to give up all my belongings to help a stranger, but it means looking at each person I meet as an equal, someone with intrinsic value and someone I have more in common than differences with. Someone I should try to look at with the loving eyes of God, instead of the judging eyes of man. It isn't always easy, but it's what is Right.

TL:DR christianity is at its core a message of love, hope and acceptance. God loves you, and you can never do anything to lose that love.

I just wanted to check in on you and see how you were doing. I saw what was going on between you and that anon and I'm completely stunned that a person would be hassling you like that. I honestly hope that anon gets a grip on themselves and leaves you alone, because that kind of behavior is not okay.

Also I must applaud you on how you're handling the situation, because you're being the bigger person here. As someone who has dealt with anon hate towards my artwork one time, I wish I could've come up with the clever comebacks you're dishing out.

Aw, thank you! I'm doing good and hope you are too (and that you didn't have to deal with anon hate at all).

I will say, this anon isn't even attacking my artwork itself, they are attacking more like my writing and me as a person. Which is weird since I don't post everything about myself online or feel like I write enough for them to be so upset (like yes I do write long asks, but it's not like I tag the main media I am talking about lol).

It's just a super parasocial relationship on their part. They see my vent posts and think my whole home life is shit and my family is full of complete bigots who want to kill queer people or something like that. This anon doesn't understand I my vent posts are me VENTING in a moment of heated emotions (sadness, anger, happiness, etc.) so what I am writing isn't gonna be 100% accurate.

And even if it was, I'm not posting EVERYTHING about my life. Imagine seeing a celebrity being happy all the time and so you think they are never sad, only to find out that celebrity has depression. That is like what this anon is thinking lol. They are taking my small snippets of my life and using that to paint a whole picture of me.

Plus they are upset I am making characters have trauma or be diverse, as if those are not things that happen lol. People asking me about my history for a character with no canon backstory, so I give my version, and this person is so mad at me. Half the time I am literally answering asks to what other people want to hear.

Anyway, rambling now aside, I don't even think my comebacks are all that great. Especially considering I was drunk last night when I wrote my answer to that anon's ask lol. So that makes me feel better you think my response was good!

One of these days I'm gonna just screenshot and post the asks and let people read them for themselves, but for now I am saving them and sending them to my best friend or showing my family so we can laugh at this absurd situation! :3

The one thing I regret the most in my life it's trusting people I shouldn't have. I used to easily go and open up about myself and sharing stuff and all when I didn't even know if they were worthy of that trust. I the end I just ended up feeling like shit and wishing going back in time to stop myself from sharing my secrets and personal stuff with them. They made me regret being Bi and even made me feel I was a monster or something. In the end no one is there for you but yourself. That's a sad reality.
