Summary: Upon inadvertently transforming Alhaitham from a cat back to a human by somehow fulfilling an unknown desire, Kaveh is confronted with the question he’s tried to smother for years – why did Alhaitham allow him to stay? Why was Kaveh here?

Chapter Summary:

“And what’s in this for you? Besides, not having to go to such lengths to talk around your meaning.” “You’re seriously asking? Isn’t it you who claims that mutual trust is essential for a good relationship? My sentiments are similar to yours. It isn’t always easy to understand you either.” The heated bristling to Alhaitham’s derisive tone quelled when registering his meaning. Alhaitham’s sentiments being similar to his…? Meaning that he, too, wanted to understand Kaveh, just as he wanted to understand Alhaitham? Regardless of his assertion that he wanted to establish honesty between them, it seemed natural, a default, for Alhaitham to talk around his feelings. His care. But then, wasn’t he the same? When it came to Alhaitham, at least, when it came to feelings of severe consequence. So, with his new understanding, his adjusted his focal point, he pushed himself to understand. Here was Alhaitham and him in their shared living room, here they were distracted from a task of domesticity; bookshelf arranging, and here was Alhaitham telling Kaveh he cared about him, that he understood that this care was mutual - that their regard for each other was evenly matched.

For your question, we'll go with Marin and Nat!

Marin isn't very good at gift-giving, and it stresses them out a lot, especially since I feel like Nat would be very good at it. They want to give her the perfect gift, but they never know what. Is there a price limit? How much is too much? They want to give her everything she could ever want! But that's a little hard when all you don't even make enough for a decent car, lol. What do you buy for a vampire who's been alive for three centuries, earns a wage that's more than decent, and already has a warehouse full to the brim with antiques she's been collecting for lifetimes?

It's something that's been on their mind for a long, long time. And then they get an idea.

Instead of finding something, wrapping it up, and hoping for the best, they take her out on a date to one of the bookstores in town. One that has a rare book room. And then they set her loose.

It's a win-win: Nat gets to explore shelves hard-to-find books--first editions, autographed copies, and more. Now Marin doesn't have to stress over finding her the wrong thing! (Not that that would be possible, if you asked Nat. She would love whatever they got.)

Nat, on the other hand, spends hours before the holiday, scouring through every single little art gallery Wayhaven has to offer. And since it's a coastal town, I imagine it would have a lot. Ava, of course, is her driver companion, going with her through every gallery in the area. Maybe even in the next town over. (She has to beg Ava for that, but it isn't very hard to win her over.) They don't come home until she finds a seascape that is just right. She ties a red bow around it and hides it in her closet until February 14th, lol.

ABSOLUTELY YES!!! thank you for the love of them ah omg!! i still have a few Kennedy x Bucky prompts awaiting a mixture of editing/writing/reworking and no doubt all of them will be continually expanding their connection, along with showing that, through each piece, they become closer and more expressive with their emotions and feelings - through both intimate, scary, vulnerable or quiet moments. what i've loved these two is that - back at thorpe abbotts, there are HINTS of 'feelings' for each other, but nothing extensive - and i think when both get downed and end up in the stalag, they realize their feelings towards one another. and so that will absolutely be set on display in these upcoming prompts for them! :) they're so fun to experiment and write with so thank you!! <3

ANNIE X BRADY REUNION PIECE!!! top-tier compliments towards it - thank you so SO much! :') i think for me that piece showed how much they feel for each other, but are, ultimately, still scared to cross that threshold as well. by far, that almost-kiss they had was one of the highlights and i have intentions of doing more with that hehe! their reunion had been on my mind for weeks though and im so glad you enjoyed the way the piece was!! <3333 (annie x brady you two have people in a chokehold plz know, get it together lmfao! - seriously though, honored and filled with gratitude about your love for them, truly!)

oh, that's for sure a better way of looking at it (even if i have no way to confirm.) i think people just don't leave kudos as readily on unfinished works, since you can't retract a kudos and people like to wait to the end to see if the liked it (personally i never cared about withholding kudos to the end but i understand the mindset)

my total words read in fanfiction this year is 6,227,818. 6. million. and 22 thousand. words. 24 of these fics, or about 5% of the fics read, were of a length equivalent to that of a standard fiction novel, which is a length of 40,000 words at the lowest average count. I feel like it's necessary to state here that, whenever I read incomplete fics, I put their current word count, but when the fics updated, I did NOT update the listings, so this number is an estimate

my no.1 fandom this year was stranger things! at 74% and 441 fics read, a surprise to no one. the runners up are the legend of zelda, in no.2, with 24 fics and 11% of my reading, and avatar the last airbender, in no.3, with 18 fics and 8% of the stuff I read!

my no.1 pairing this year was byler, with 57% at a count of 289 fics read! again, a surprise to no one! runners up are, no.2, ronance, with 67 fics and about 14% of the fics I read, and no.3, steddie, with 58 fics and 12% of the stuff I read

my highest month for fanfiction reading was july! of the 496 fics I read this year, 162 of them were read in july, which is about 33%.

468 of the fics I read this year were completed when I read them, which is about 94%.

the author I read the most from was @andiwriteordie, with 34 fics, which is about 7% of the fics read. tbf though, this is because she's insane and wrote a LOT of stuff this year.

409 of the fics I read this year, or 82%, were oneshots.
