Lucas Sinclair’s face, smiling bright for his yearbook photo, had been plastered on the left half of the screen all morning, only ever briefly replaced by a family photo of the Sinclairs. “Your eggs oughtta be cold as ice by now, Ed, you should eat.” Said Wayne, reaching over to poke at Eddie’s plate. Eddie leaned around him so he could continue to see the TV as he did. Wayne sighed. “When was the last time you talked to him?” He said. Eddie shook his head minutely. “Never really talked to him.” He said, words falling out of his mouth in a mumble. “But Steve says he’s a good kid.” “I meant Steve.” Eddie’s responding sigh was shaky. “Couple days ago.” He’d given in and dialed the number for the Wheeler’s last night, but nobody answered.

hey guys i got excited and wrote another one HAHA thank u for hyping me up on heartbeat :D (pls send some requestssss!!)

Carl never really seemed like the type to be so…romantic. On the outside, he seemed to have had such a hard shell, almost like nothing could get him to break, especially after going through the worst of the worst.

Although when you two started dating, you found out he was quite the opposite. He would write sweet letters about the little things he noticed about you, how much he loves your eyes or how contagious your laugh is.

He loved you greatly, but with loving you came his biggest fear. Losing you.

One night in Alexandria, you were sleeping over at his house, cuddled up with him in his twin bed, practically smothering him when the topic of how often you two cried was brought up.

“I don’t cry much anymore. I guess losing as many people as I have sort of…desensitized me.” You explain as your ear rests against his chest. Carl is playing with your hair, gently twirling it between his fingers. “I can’t remember the last time I cried.” He responds.

“I think it would have to be someone I really care about for me to cry again… I dunno.” After you say that, Carl stops moving his hands and he looks down at you. “I’d cry if I lost you.” He says. Your knit your eyebrows and smile a little.

“Well don’t think about thattt.” You sort of giggle, trying to make the situation rather lighthearted so you don’t go to bed on a depressing note. “Well it’s not like I try to think about it. I can’t help it.” You frown slightly as he says this, devastated that losing you is ultimately where his brain is at.

“Well, if it makes you feel any better, if anything ever happens to me, I want you to know that I love you and nothing will change that.” You say. He smiles and leans down to kiss your forehead. He thinks for a moment before responding.

“I feel the same, but you know that don’t you? No matter what, whether I’m alive…or not…if I have the chance to love you and be with you, I’ll take it.” He says, looking at you lovingly. You simply nod and smile, overwhelmed with love.

“Yeah, I understand.”
