Going through my pictures and realizing I missed some to delete.
LOL. Fuck you.
If I had a fucking dollar for every time you told me it was the last time. What a waste of time and effort you were.

Batman the Playboy
Justice League, not quite early days but before proper identity reveals, though everyone knows Batman knows theirs, bc he has Opinions™ and Constructive Criticisms™ on their secret-keeping.
The issue is brought up on random occasions. The most notable incident- the Justice League, including Batman, being Drunk for Bonding, (or hit with some kind of drug while out saving the world) and Batman, in a fit of paranoid good intentions because he CARES about these idiots, damnit, why must they be so careless, starts insulting them.
Batman, leaning heavily on the table: “GL, you’re a mess, I don’t even know where to start with you. And Arrow! Your goatee is so distinctive, it’s a wonder no one has called you out on it-“
Green Arrow, also drunk: “Alright, there’s no need to insult my awesome facial hair-”
Batman, in despair: “It’s so ugly.”
Green Arrow: (offended noises)
Green Lantern: “Okay, the only reason you know our secret identities is because you’re a rude nosy bastard who needs to know everything about us like a creepy stalker who needs an ego boost! We’re not stupid, Spooky, we’re just polite. We could figure you out easily if we wanted to. Superman can see right through your mask!”
Usually, Batman would have a good response to that. Something smart and reasonable like “villains won’t care for your privacy, I’m testing you,” or something cutting like “I don’t care enough about you to go digging, I set your secret identity as a training exercise for Robin.”
However, Batman is Drunk, because for some reason imbibing drugs that dampen higher brain function is socially acceptable and often, for some reason, expected, because it’s “team bonding” and “come on just loosen up a bit.” (Also for him, drunk=Brucie)
So what Batman ends up saying is: “I could kiss you full on the lips in my secret identity and you wouldn’t know a thing.”
Superman, plucking the glass from Batman’s hand: “Aaaand that is enough alcohol for you!”
Batman nods. Thank God. He wants to go home and sleep. But first: “Superman, yours is so stupid it’s almost impressive-”
———
Of course, Green Lantern has smelled a challenge. And Green Lantern must annoy Batman. It’s his true superpower. So, the next time they meet (sober) he brings up the issue again.
GL: “So about what you said at the party… the part where you could kiss us full on the lips without us knowing. You still confident in that without liquid courage, Spooky? Bet you your real name you can’t do it.”
Batman, regretting the fact that alcohol has ever passed his lips: “I could do it, but I will not.”
Flash, curious: “Why’s that?”
Batman: “Informed Consent. I will not risk making any of you feel violated, or manipulated, for the sake of a stupid bet and my ego.”
GA, still offended by the goatee comment, trying to back Batman into a corner: “So if we give consent, we’re fair game? Try me, Batman. Even you can’t pull this off. Anyone else game?”
Some of the Justice League laughs, raising their hands.
Flash: “Come get me, hot stuff! I’ll call you out!”
Wonder Woman: “It could be amusing.”
Martian Manhunter: “I would be far too difficult a target.”
Green Arrow: “Not just you. C’mon, Spooky, flirting well enough to get a kiss from me? I’m a classy lady.”
Black Canary: “D-class, maybe.”
Superman, wants a kiss in on the fun: 🙋🏻‍♂️
“So that’s it then!” Green Lantern says smugly. “Batman, if you can kiss… how many people raised their hands? Ah yes- HALF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE, without anyone realizing it’s you, then you win.”
Batman scoffs and walks out, leaving the Justice League in stitches at their joke. Because- Batman? Being good enough at flirting to land a kiss on half the league, without it being forced or awkward, without them recognizing his body language, his voice, his build? How ridiculous!
The Batman is Autistic. The Batman does not understand jokes, especially not ones that are half truths. The Batman has consent, and something to prove.
And Bruce Wayne, billionaire, playboy, and sexy DILF, has targets.
(Please tell me how you think he gets each League member.)
Edit: there have been a bunch of awesome additions in the notes! My own take here.

Falling Part Five | Jeon Jungkook
Tumblr media
Summary: Jae tells Lana about the party but you get nervous, not knowing what his intentions with her might be... Pairing: Guardian Angel f!reader x Fallen Angel Jungkook Word Count: 1.5k (sorry I know it's short and horribly edited) a/n: Hey guys so I know I haven't updated this story in months and a few of you have been asking for it so I'm sorry about that. I know this is short but I wanted to put something out for you guys. I'm still stuck on figuring out what's going to happen at the party so that's why this is still a little short but hopefully I'll figure it out and post it soon! Thanks for waiting 💜 Start from the beginning
"Jimin I don't know what to do" I whine, dragging out the last word, "I've been able to avoid the headache of her going to any high school parties but of course when this tall, mysterious, intelligent guy and his friends come around she suddenly decides to go" I complain to him.
"I mean to be honest I don't blame her. They seem like they're fun and Jae is charming and to be honest out of the lot he's definitely a lot more her speed. I feel like that's why they work so well together" he responds, trying to get me to calm down a bit which helps but I still don't know how I'm going to help her.
"Maybe you're right. He does seem like a really nice guy and he hasn't done anything wrong. I think just the fact that this is the first guy she's actually shown interest in is making me a bit more nervous" I admit, plopping down on Lana's bed while she continues to study.
They've known each other for a few weeks and he hasn't shown any signs of really wanting to lead her astray so that's promising. At this point though I don't really know what he does when he's around Jungkook which stresses me out at the very least knowing that Jae has messed up enough to trade his guardian angel for a fallen one.
"Just keep a close watch and maybe then he'll show his true colors. Lana sounds like a smart girl and you'll be materializing in a few weeks right?" Jimin reminds me. "That's only if she doesn't start to stray and I'm afraid that if she goes to this party that it'll be the beginning of the end for us" I voice, letting all of my worries and doubts out.
"Just keep praying that she'll stay strong and that she'll focus on staying on the straight and narrow" he say, making it sound easy. "I wish it was that simple" I mumble, turning my head to look at her while she picks up her phone to no doubt, text Jae back from the looks of it.
"You've been with her since she was conceived and you know her better than anyone. Just put your faith in her and I'm sure you'll make it to materialization. You've done a great job watching over her so, don't doubt yourself" he encourages.
"I'm sorry but I have to get going now. Let me know how everything turns out alright?" he say before ending the call. "Yes don't worry I will" I reassure him and say our goodbye right as Lana's phone starts to ring.
"Hey!" she greets excitedly, instantly letting me know who it is without even trying, accompanied by the feeling of butterflies in her stomach.
"I miss you" he says and I instantly gag while she has the polar opposite reaction watching as her cheeks start to warm up. "I miss you too" she says softly. "I wanted to tell you the details of the party tomorrow and also I just wanted to hear your voice" he admits.
'Could he be any cheesier?' of course Lana is eating it up though. Chances are he's gonna be her first love so I guess I'll just have to get used to this lovey dovey behavior from them. I drown their conversation out, still listening in but only enough to sense if something bad will happen but it's pretty innocent at this point thank God.
Thinking about all this love stuff is taking me back to when I was young and falling in love with Jungkook...
Eons ago...
"Go talk to her" Jimin says, elbowing Jungkook in the side and he groans at the contact still with his eyes fully trained on me.
"She's probably already with someone else" he says, making excuses and tries to walk away but his friend grabs him by his shoulders and turns him around, making him face me again
"She doesn't have a bracelet yet" he points out, looking at my wrists, neither of them adorned with and sort of jewelry. "Just go talk to her" Jimin repeats, pushing on his shoulder and making him stumble, grabbing my attention.
Jungkook and I make eye contact for a second and he smiles bashfully and I return it before going back to my conversation with a few other female angels.
"Look he's coming over here!" one of them says once I've turned back towards the group giving the handsome angle my back making me straighten out my wings from their slouched position into a more graceful one.
"He's probably looking at one of you guys" I say in a hushed tone, all of them having clocked the way he was looking at me, leaving me feeling insecure and pushing away the thoughts that someone as handsome as him would be interested in a lowly angel like myself.
I hear a man clear his throat behind me and my body goes rigid praying it's not who I think it is having truly thought my friends had been teasing me.
They all make eyes at me, wordlessly telling me to turn around but when I don't he chances speaking to me to get my attention.
"Hello" is all he says and the smooth baritone of his voice is more heavenly than any other melody I'd ever heard. "Hi, um we've actually gotta go" one of older angels says and pushes the other girls to the side, herding them over somewhere else and my protests die in my throat once he tries his luck again.
"I haven't seen you around here before" he says and at that I turn around to face him. My breath is taken away from seeing him up close, his features working in perfect harmony.
"Um yeah I'm one of the new borns, I guess" I say, still unsure of how everything works around here, referring to my recently aged up status. "Oh, well it's very nice to meet you..." he trails off waiting for me to fill in the blank. "Y/n!" I say quickly, embarrassed to have left a longer gap between his question and my answer.
"That's a beautiful name" he says, testing how my name sounds on his lips. I swear I never want anyone to address me by my name ever again unless it's by him or God. "Oh and you are?" I question, forgetting to return his interest.
"Jungkook" he says, a name that I had never heard before but pray would be one I would utter again and again. "It's nice to meet you Jungkook" and I can see how his eyes light up and his wings slightly raise behind him, obviously happy to have heard his name from my lips as well.
And from that moment onwards we started falling. Madly, deeply and hopelessly in love. That is, until he fell...
"JK said the party starts around 8 so I can pick you up around that time if you'd like" I hear Jae's voice say through the speaker. "Oh okay, yeah that works!" Lana says but she sounds a bit wary.
"What's wrong?" Jae asks, clocking her change in demeanor. "It's just that my curfew is 10 so I wont be able to stay for very long and because you're the one JK's throwing the party for I wouldn't want you to have to deal with leaving early to take me home or anything" she says and he nods his head, thinking for a second.
"What about this. Why don't we just go and hang out there for like an hour and then we'll leave and spend the rest of that time together on our own before your curfew" he suggests and she lights up at the idea. "I'd like that" she smiles shyly, a fluttery feeling in her stomach again, no doubt from the thought of spending true alone time with him for the first time.
"You sure you want to miss out on the party?" Lana questions, starting to feel guilty about it all. "The party is gonna go on all night so if I feel up to it I can always go back later on. You're the only one I really want to spend time with" he admits and again I can't help but roll my eyes.
At least he's honest though but I really hope this night ends with a simple goodnight kiss. 'Please Jae for the love of God don't pressure Lana into losing her innocence' I offer as a silent plea.
Lana is someone I've been entrusted to and I will do everything in my power to make sure that she stays safe. One boy is not gonna ruin this for her, she's stronger than this and I know that. I just need to keep reminding myself and stop doubting her.
I've gotta put my faith in her just like Jimin said, and pray to God Jae's intentions are pure. Please Jungkook, don't encourage him to do this, I know it's your sole purpose to lead him astray, but please, not Lana...

I believe noone would ever read it but it's okay
Tumblr media
So I saw this picture on instagram today and took it literally, so here's my little fic to this idea
Human: so yeah this is nice
God 1: I Am God
God 2: Me Too
Human: I decided I will plant some potatoes here on this beautiful land
God 3: You should have a wolf here, wolves are old school
God 1: God 3’s got a point
God 2: What you need is a woman, son
God 3: We can give him a wolf and a woman
God 1: Not enough mana
God 3: human gotta pray, eh?
Human: So, uh– Dear gods please I'm begging you I need a woman and a wolf and I am so thankful you're surrounding me on this gorgeous island and stuff
God 2: *sigh* and it started so well
God 3: I think I can handle a wolf with this, hold on
God 1: It would be easier if you got him a pup
God 3: good point
God 1: Maybe some mana will be enough for a woman
God 2: maybe for a not very smart woman, yes
God 1: you said a woman, not a smart woman
Human: what's the difference?
God 2: *sign* I'm beginning to think he's not very smart either
God 3: would you guys stop yapping for a second, I need to focus
Human: So anyway you guys do you and I will be there planting potatoes
God 2: maybe you could chant some praising songs for us
God 1: that would be helpful
God 3: yeah, sing us something with a lot of Pleases and Thank Yous
Human: How about Dua Lipa’s “pretty please”?
God 3: now that's a fine piece of ass
God 2: one of my best creations so far
God 3: I thought it was God 1’s work
God 1: I was on vacation that day
God 2: On vacation… Hey, we don't feel any difference!
Human: I haven't started yet!
God 2: Any time!
God 3: So anyway what are the chances of her lookalike here?
God 2: Fuck if I know
God 1: oh, he started. I can feel it.
God 3: now if we all concentrate we could have a Dua Lipa lookalike here
God 2: yeah but I'd better store that mana and make her, you know, better in harvesting
God 3: what for?
God 2: she is supposed to be of help to our human
God 1: …and he is in his farming mode now, I get it. Okay
God 3: Okay I guess
God 2: we can always get him two
God 3: We did it once with Xena and she's not into dudes
God 2: it was your idea to make her that meaty
God 3: bless me I guess
God 1: I think let's keep it with one Dua Lipa lookalike and let's make her into farming and shit
God 3: watch it
God 2: remember how we made Dalilah into shit?
God 1: fair point
Human: you guys are okay?
God 2: why?
Human: it's starting to rain
God 4: yeah you wanted your potatoes to grow without water?
God 3: there he is
God 2: make it stop
God 1: you're spending our precious mana
God 4: I thought we were here to help our human
God 2: We're saving mana for Dua Lipa’s lookalike
God 4: that is good stuff, boys
Human: thank you!
God 4: don't mention it
God 1: go play with your puppy
God 2: I love puppies. But I love women more
God 4: So how much mana do you guys need for her?
God 3: I think we're just okay, but human needs to crave her more
God 2: yeah, craving is a very important factor here
God 1: wish I knew that sooner
God 2: well who knew
God 1: I should have known
God 4: I know now that we need to cover our own sectors and communicate about that common spots
God 3: yeah about that, are we ready for human to reproduce?
God 4: I like it when humans reproduce
God 1: pervert
God 4: au contraire! More humans, more begs for rain! I like it when they sing happily in the rain
God 2: some of them can sing, damn
God 1: do I hear a little pride here?
God 2: maybe a little, yes
God 3: I hope for the show. You guys remember Sodom?
God 1: I loved that city
God 2: what a waste
God 4: I was on holidays there back then
God 3: I practically lived there for years
God 1: Girls there knew how to sing, damn it
God 4: and they had boobs!
God 2: I cannot not be proud of myself, I mean after all what else should I feel
God 3: yeah, yeah, sure, go ahead
God 4: I believe what we need here is some lust
God 5: yeah so I was here all the time but all I heard was the potatoes
God 2: good friend for all the boobs
God 5: I mean I don't try anything else
God 3: anyway did you see the puppy yet?
God 5: i did. nice work!
God 3: So we will give him Dua Lipa's lookalike
God 5: damn right you will, shiiit
God 2: do we need to worry
God 5: no need to worry. He'll just need you sometimes more
God 1: And that's a good thing, yes?
God 5: balance and harmony, boys
Human: I planted a few rows!
God 3: good for you! Now pray for the bountiful harvest
Human: okay
God 2: I'm ready for some action
God 3: Should we all help you somehow
God 5: I already am helping
God 1: don't make it messy I'm begging you
God 5: I like it messy
God 4: yeah but we mean like dick in the ass messy, not spontaneous combustions messy
God 5: our human craves some of it
God 1: oh hell no
God 2: so what
God 3: no problem
God 4: yeah it's nothing, you guys remember Sodom?
God 5: I loved that place
God 1: yeah it was okay
God 3: and the goats were happy, too. And the mares
God 4: that one stable boy was happy, too
God 5: I see you looking at me
God 4: just don't make it too messy, okay
God 5: I will not
God 2: okay guys make me some space
God 1: i love it when it happens
God 3: I think we might have some mana left for, uh
God 1: It would probably be better if we left human craving for dick in the ass for some other time
God 3: I, uh, wanted to ask what animal would be the best for this
God 5: dragons are always the best
God 2: he's got a point
God 1: I like dragons
God 4: How it's supposed to help our human
God 1: we'll, uh
God 3: I'll make it rather sweet and loving
God 2: Dua Lipa will be like that exactly
God 5: oh and more
God 4: yeah I think we should wait with the human to grow a little more
God 2: you're afraid of sudden fetishism?
God 5: I told you I'm going to be careful
God 1: yes you did tell us but what does it have to do with reality
God 3: good point
God 2: She's almost ready
God 4: yeah naked woman in high heels ready for some serious action in dirt
God 5: let's not get over our heads okay, she's a star and they need nice shoes.
God 2: that's how it's supposed to be
God 1: I like them hookers in heels
God 4: you practically invented them
God 2: and potatoes too
God 1: Are you guys jealous
God 5: look, she plays with the puppy!
God 4: how cute!
God 3: she isn't very busty, is she
God 2: have you seen her thighs, though?
God 4: back in the day I saw thighs like these smashing coconuts
God 5: Ahhh good old days of Sodom again
God 4: what happened back then anyways
God 3: taxes
God 2: what an idiotic idea
God 1: I understand your point of view
God 2: I sense there's a “but” there somewhere
God 1: we tax human with prayers right?
God 5: I see you missed a point here
God 3: completely missed a point
God 4: I see her on all fours closing to our unsuspecting human
God 5: don't look at me like that, I didn't do anything
God 3: in case of emergency, break glass and unleash the dragon
God 1: what glass
God 2: what dragon
God 3: I'm working on it
God 4: oh look, she likes him
God 5: la di dah
God 1: she is going to devour him
God 2: I did a good job
God 3: she is making a good job
God 5: you don't need to thank me for the show
God 4: damn she's into it
God 5: yeah that's the best part
God 6: so you guys are having fun yet?
God 2: we do
God 5: and so is human
God 6: the human is fearless, you guys don't worry?
God 4: worry about what
God 6: he won't need you anymore
Human: oh god oh my god ohhhh godddd
God 6: oh I see
God 2: and he has some potatoes
God 1: And a wolf
God 6: …and what a nice setup this is!
Gods: yeah we did a good job
Human: OH YEAH
God 5: and human woman does even better job
God 6: stop bragging, it's not very nice
God 4: if he prays for her to have bigger boobs, I'm giving them to her
God 1: he won't even notice their existence
God 3: Wanna bet what his next prayer will be about?
Wolf pup: woof
God 1: good harvest
God 2: Second woman
God 3: a dragon
God 2: can I change mine?
God 4: rain
God 5: he will pray for her to be more kinky. Or grow a dick
God 2: I want to change mine into second woman with a dick
God 3: maybe he wants some chickens and eggs, I don't know
God 6: wait a minute I think he said something
Human: would you like to meet our friends?
Girl: who are they?
Human: gods who created you, me and everything here
Girl: I don't believe in gods
God 4: ooooh bummer! I can struck her with a thunder if you guys want
God 5: I have a better idea
God 2: what
God 5: I will rewire that brain a little
God 1: and you were surprised we were suspicious about you
God 5: you want my help or not
God 3: how about a dragon now
God 2: I think it's time for this girl with dick now
God 4: good idea
God 1: what are you going to do about her?
God 5: I will just put some more heat into her
God 3: that's not a too bad idea
God 2: and if it doesn't work
God 3: you'll getting that dickgirl here
God 2: fuck yeah
God 4: so tell me what are you going to do
God 5: oh just relax and watch
Girl: I don't believe in gods but I do believe in heads
Human: that's niIIICE oH HoLy ShIT
God 5: and voilà
God 6: you guys now know why it's called ‘french sex’
God 4: because french were so fucked up?
God 3: because french are so fucked up
God 2: Their women are beautiful
God 1: they don't shave armpits
God 6: they don't shave anything
God 4: mana level max, we can create anything we want
God 7: Let's make a dickgirl
God 2: that's my idea
God 7: let's make it two!
God 5: I'll make them in constant heat
God 4: let's give them a power of storytelling
God 3: I'm giving them a dragon too
God 1: so now we have two people, a man obsessed with potatoes and a girl obsessed with blowjobs and a wolf puppy obsessed with, uhm, licking it's balls, and you guys wanna add two horny dickgirls and a dragon here?
God 4: pretty much, yes
God 5: yeah
God 4: I love those exotic households
God 2: And our little human is about to be very happy
God 1: he'll get someone's cock up his ass, right?
God 6: ahh you guys remember Sodom?
God 7: what a waste
God 4: I need a nap
God 5: let's go, give them some time
God 2: it will take me some time to make those two dickgirls
God 5: let me help you
God 2: thanks
God 1: thanks but no thanks?
God 3: stop being so obsessed, he's going to be fine
God 2: oh he will be fine already
God 4: I have an idea
God 5: an olive tree?
God 4: how did you know?
God 7: oh I get it how did he know
God 1: perverts
God 3: HE WILL BE FINE
God 1: yeah, but
God 5: you want him to suffer?
God 1: no
God 5: so stop being such a wimp and leave the human alone, we got this
God 1: meh
God 2: first dickgirl almost ready
God 3: I am going to make some chickens and maybe some pigs and stuff
God 4: no pigs
God 7: yeah you guys remember Sodom?
God 2: what a waste
God 3: oh shit yeah you guys are right
God 6: I believe we need to tame this girl a bit
God 5: after the human shoots the last of his seed, she'll stop
God 6: and how does she know when to stop
God 1: wake me up in two weeks
God 4: sleep well
God 5: my work here is done too
God 2: what about the second dickgirl
God 5: what about her
God 2: are you not giving her some special treats of yours?
God 5: Being a hot dickgirl isn't enough?
God 2: are you kidding me?
God 5: What?
God 3: what's the problem now?
God 2: so one is in constant heat and the other isn't?
God 5: have you heard of netorare
God 6: yeah, we know it from, uh
God 2: Sodom
God 4: I was about to say that
God 5: Dickgirls love it
God 2: Technically it's rape
God 5: technically, shut the fuck up
God 3: We made rape the most common date idea
God 6: no we didn't
God 5: It was me, wasn't it
God 7: Nah, it was that other one
God 8: I wanted it to happen
God 5: great, now you're here too
God 3: We have two chickens now
God 2: And two dickgirls
God 4: and a wolf
God 5: and a pair of humans
God 6: I believe there are potatoes, too
God 8: you know what this island needs?
God 5: a kangaroo
God 2: ah shit
God 3: I'm not doing that
God 4: please don't
God 8: human passed out
God 5: and the girl seems tired
God 8: Easy target for the dickgirls
God 2: wait no
God 5: wait yes
God 4: I can make a thunderstorm any second now
God 5: let's not jump into any extremes, okay? I made dickgirls attracted mostly to human.
God 6: I like your “mostly”.
God 2: yeah it doesn't sound like a lie at all
God 3: Imma go and make some worms and stuff, see you guys later
God 2: don't make a kangaroo
God 3: no worries mate
God 2: you guys are okay now?
God 5: dickgirls have fun
God 8: one is netoraring the other
God 6: I don't think it's alright
God 7: yeah it is alright
God 2: it reminds me of Sodom again
God 7: we didn't have that genetics like we do now
God 4: yeah people were smaller
God 5: that's why we invented Christian Louboutin
God 2: yeah it was a good idea you came around that day
God 5: sheer accident
God 2: so I always say
God 4: I miss Sodom
God 8: the taller dickgirl is on her way to recreate it here
God 7: That's their purpose
God 8: what a waste
God 2: what
God 5: Sodom
God 2: that, yeah
God 4: I have an idea
God 2: just tell me the list
God 5: I can help you with that
God 8: I can help you helping them with that
God 6: are you guys thinking of another Sodom
God 5: fuck yeah

The Samsaras Took No Time? / Genshin Theory
GENSHIN SUMERU SPOILERSSS Okay so like you know the samsara from the sabzeruz festival? although Dunyarzad did get more ill i think i have reason to believe that it is possible that the 168 loops (according to Nahida in Scaramouche boss battle cutscene stuff) did not, in fact, take 168 real life days
It is possible that Dunyarzad got more ill because it took more out of her every single loop, which goes in line with how we the Traveler and Paimon got more like tired or something, I can't remember but we had some sort of side effect but thats not the point So.. Okay so we went through 168 loops again with Scara's fight. And I mean, sure, maybe it didn't take a whole day like the Sabzeruz Festival, BUT when in the cutscene we see everyone answering how we fight the false god.. You'd think if we were put to sleep for 168 days someone would be worried af and checking in on us since theyd know we were in the Sanctuary of Surasthana. Perhaps it could be though that Scara was the one asleep, BUT remember how Dunyarzad the fill in acted? Like when Dunyarzad's real consciousness couldn't handle it and was out (and we all thought she died) and a replacement Dunyarzad came in? It'd be so easy to tell that nah, Traveler acting off. SURE that could be because Nahida with her gnosis is the one actually doing it instead of humans but like.. DOUBT???? I mean and even if she had to use a knowledge capsule for us to remember every loop, SO DID THE SABZERUZ FESTIVAL- She had to like unlock our memories or something to remember
id think that if EVERYONE knew about Scara being really close to godhood (i dont remember where but I THINK he said that he was almost done when he and the Traveler met in Pardis Dhyai, and they wouldn't have enough time to properly plan it out, like the '168th loops plan' id think??? everyone still had to do their part cause the traveler still needed to be contained and etc etc etc) then yeah maybe they wouldn't rush in and would trust the traveler to deal with it if they somehow made a good plan, but like...
yknow i dont think id intentionally leave my friend to fight a 'god' without any full on planning first - id think they would at least try to help us? i mean yeah they have their own things--
what was cyno doing? and i mean alhaitham- apparently after his cutscene if you go outside sumeru city(?) or something his guards have been knocked out- so lol? but like then he could do something right?? but i think he was in the desert.. (i know he was meant to be escorted there as another mad scholar to like aaru village)
hm....
cyno couldve been escorting azar to who knows where so i guess we cant fault him for being gone....? (and i mean the other corrupt sages prob....?)
and sURE dehya was dealing with the matra in the grand bazaar (and i think nilou too if i remember right) but id think theyd be able to deal with them and then provide help should they have known
and sure tighnaris still in pardis dhyai nursing his wound and keeping watch over haypasia
i just
damn where are yall, i may have an archon on my side but fuck man HES HUGE
ALSO THANK FUCK EVERYONE IN SUMERU IS SMART, couldn't have done this otherwise, like bruh even if we saved nahida we would be absolutely fucked fighting scara with no other loop knowledge (DID YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENED IN THE LOOP??)
Added note: Do you think the people in the desert went through a samsara too? In the Scara cutscene she said that the people of sumeru had to go through 168 loops and samsara cycles, but I mean sure 'people of sumeru' could count as the desert AND the forest, people DO refer to the people of the forest and the people of the desert to be different as if different races so like...
and we never knew did we? I mean what was going on with cyno and alhaitham? what about collei and tighnari?? well actually i think alhaitham knew or something? i swear there was some mention about the sages big project.. i THINK alhaitham asked about it to cyno but i REALLY cant remember their dialogue rn
WAIT NO, ANOTHER ADDED NOTE:
no the desert and the forest probably did not go through it. Why? Because when we tried to leave the I think Sumeru City because I think thats where the Grand Bazaar was in the Samsara, we were kicked out of the dream and forgot. AND its all controlled by like the akasha!!! The desert dont wear those, nor do the forest.

Dungeons & Dragons & Ditching Your Boyfriend
Tumblr media
Pairing: Eddie Munson x OC (If you’d like to substitute your own name, you can use this extension)
Word count: 3k
Description: When Mitchie Water’s overbearing boyfriend made her drop out of Hellfire Club her senior year, she lost contact with her friends, including her eccentric DM, Eddie. But when a vigilante manhunt and the possibility of a murderous demon threatens Hawkins, they’re suddenly and unavoidably back in the same circle.
Warnings: emotional and psychological abuse, bullying, language, poor eating choices idk
“Alright,” Eddie clapped his hands, a mischievous grin breaking out on his face. “Everyone roll initiative.”
Already!
You’ve gotta be kidding me!
We’re dying this time, fucking hell.
I smiled at the groans from my compatriots, and my smile only grew as we dove into battle. I’d been smart enough to spend nearly all of my gold on new armor and tricked-out weapons, and I was dealing damage like a god of death. There were two banshees, one of which had taken out our cleric before biting the dust, and now there was just one left, becoming dodgy and skittish enough for us to know her hit points were getting low.
“Aaaaaaand that’s 18 damage,” I said, my friends cheering, a proud smile forming on Eddie’s face.
“Alright, Waters, how do you want to do this?”
More cheers, and I explained in heart-racing detail how I released my rune-etched arrow at the banshee mid-leap, shooting it straight through her forehead. Eddie’s smile widened, and he opened his mouth to respond when the doors to the classroom slammed open.
“Mitchie! Oh, thank God.”
We all turned towards the open doors at the same time, and my hand clenched around my dice. Shit.
Pete Caulder, my boyfriend of nearly a year, stood in the doorway, arms crossed, eyes darting about the room as if he was taking in a crime scene.
“P-Pete, what are you doing—” I looked back at my friends, who were glancing between me and him, wide-eyed. “What are you doing here? I told you I was playing D&D today.”
He stepped into the room, and I froze. He didn’t care that he was throwing off the flow of the game, and I winced at my friends, silently apologizing.
“Babe, I did some reading into this Dungeons and Dragons stuff, and I don’t think I want you playing, okay?” His voice was soft, gentle, but I felt my chest tighten with every syllable. He was looking straight at me, only at me, as if there weren’t five other people in the room, witnessing how strange he was acting.
“Okay, that’s—” I looked back at my friends, back at Eddie, who was watching me and Pete with an expression I couldn’t quite place. “Let’s talk outside,” I said, pushing Pete back towards the door, letting him pull me forward. “Sorry, guys,” I said, looking back at my party, at Eddie who’s expression had morphed into something I could read. He felt sorry for me. I looked away quickly, managing a smile. “Keep playing, okay? I’ll talk to you in a—”
And then the door closed. On more than just Hellfire.
“Any updates?” I speak into the walkie talkie Dustin had left behind at the boathouse. There was a pause before I heard the speaker start to crackle and Dustin’s voice break through.
“Nancy and Robin are still MIA. We’re heading to Max’s house now.” I consider asking about Max, but I stop myself, knowing she’s probably in hearing distance. She doesn’t seem like the kind who likes people fussing over her. “How’s Eddie?”
The boy in question looks up at Dustin’s words, meeting my eyes from his seat in the rowboat. He looks slightly offended, but something tells me that Eddie Munson is the kind that likes being fussed over. “Still Eddie,” I say.
“Tragic,” comes Dustin’s response, and Eddie shakes his head. Little shit, I hear him mutter under his breath, despite the fond smile fighting to make an appearance on his face. “We’ll probably make a food run soon. Just hang in there.”
“Copy that.”
“Someone’s gotta get that kid’s attitude in check,” says Eddie as soon as I retract the antenna on the walkie. I smile as I set it down, crossing my arms over my chest.
“You can thank Steve for that,” I say. “But I kinda like it. It’s endearing.”
“Endearingly annoying,” Eddie replies, and I smile. We lull back into the awkward tension that’s been eating up the time since the rest of the gang left, the only sounds that of wind-wracked branches bouncing against the tin roof and tiny waves lapping at the edges of the row boat.
As endearing as his attitude is, I want to strangle Dustin for sticking me with Watch Eddie Duty. But I am the least experienced of the party, and therefore the best equipped to sit in a boathouse with a fugitive and do absolutely nothing. And plus, he doesn’t know I was in Hellfire in high school. And that I dropped out in the middle of a campaign. And I hadn’t been great to Eddie about it.
And truly, this situation isn’t anyone’s fault but my own.
Eddie toys with the ends of his hair, and I’m suddenly hit with the teenage girl at a slumber party urge to pull into a french braid. I swallow that urge, and instead dart my eyes about the room. There’s a tangled clump of nets in the corner, fishing rods hanging along the walls, tarps folded on tables, and bait lining shelves. He must notice me looking at everything other than him because he clears his throat.
One of the things that makes him such a good Dungeon Master is his ability to predict what his players are thinking. It means he knows which details to offer to lead (or mislead) them in any direction he’d like. And it meant not being completely honest with him was essentially pointless.
I meet his eyes, and he raises his brows.
I sigh. “I have a question.”
“Mitch, we’re in the middle of a campaign,” Eddie frowned. I stood in front of him, lunch tray in hand, as he sat with the rest of Hellfire, all awkwardly taking the news that I was dropping out. But I could feel Pete’s eyes on my back and that was enough to make me ignore the disappointed looks from my friends.
“I know, and I’m sorry, but I just don’t have the time anymore,” I lied. “You can just kill my character off. I have a friend who's interested in joining, he can take my place in the party.” Eddie’s eyes shifted past me, no doubt finding my boyfriend in the crowd of teenagers filling the cafeteria. His frown deepened.
“I’m really sorry, guys,” I said to my friends, who offered what ranged from understanding smiles to huffs of annoyance. Eddie was still looking past me and I turned just as Pete stood up from the table he was sitting at, starting towards me. “Anyway, sorry again, good luck,” I said, scuttling back towards my boyfriend and meeting him halfway between our tables.
“They giving you trouble?” He asked, his eyes locked on only one of the they he was talking about. I chanced a look back, and Eddie was staring him down just as hard.
“Nope,” I assured, tugging slightly on Pete’s sleeve when he didn’t immediately follow me back to our table. “They were just sad to lose a member, that’s all,” I said when he continued to stare down Eddie. “C’mon, Pete,” I laughed slightly. “You’re being ridiculous.”
His head snapped back towards me in an instant, and I wiped the smile off my face. “I’m just looking out for you,” he said, loud enough for most of the students milling about around us to hear, and harsh enough for them to take note. Some looked, others ducked their heads in the other direction. Eddie Munson stood from his chair. My chest clenched and my breath quickened. Not here, not right now.
“I’m sorry, you’re right,” I said, rushed and quiet. “Let’s just go, okay?” He was stiff as a statue against my insistent tugging. As if I wasn’t even there.
“You got something to say, freak?”
I winced at my boyfriend’s words, curling further in on myself when Eddie responded.
“Oh, no, no, of course not. I have nothing to say to you,” he said, a comedic lilt in his tone, but he remained standing.
“Then why don’t you sit your ass back down and leave my girlfriend alone?”
The air seemed to still, every head previously turned away was suddenly looking wide-eyed between Pete and Eddie. I wanted to disappear.
“Why don’t you let your girlfriend make her own decisions?” Eddie prodded. “What are you so scared of, hm? Scared she’ll dump your vanilla ass if she finds out not everyone is as straight-laced and overbearing as you?”
“Come on, Pete, let’s just sit down, okay?” I pleaded, tugging him with a bit more force. He yanked his arm out of my grip, making me stumble a bit at the loss of balance.
“Am I scared that my beautiful girlfriend will dump me for Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson?” Eddie frowned slightly, as if that wasn’t quite what he meant, but Pete was speaking again before he could retort. “Why don’t we ask her, huh?”
Pete grabbed my arm, putting a quick end to my attempt to scuttle away. Instead, he pulled me forward so I was standing in front of him, looking straight at Eddie. I looked away. “Pete, stop,” I said, just loud enough for him to hear. He ignored me.
“What do you say, Mitchie? You gonna leave your point guard boyfriend for some ass-faced loser in need of a haircut?”
“Okay, fine, you win, that’s enough,” Eddie said, lowering his voice and sitting back down so the rest of the ogling students could tell he was done making a spectacle of this. I met his eyes, and gave him a tight smile that I hope conveyed both gratitude and a thousand apologies.
But while Eddie may have been done, Pete wasn’t.
“No, I think everybody wants to hear this,” Pete laughed. “Would you ever even consider a doped-up freak like Eddie Munson? Hm, would you?”
“Pete—”
“You wouldn’t even dream of letting some ugly, bug-eyed deadbeat anywhere near you, would you?” He shoved me forward just a bit. “Would you?” When I still didn’t respond, he let out a sharp laugh that made a shudder race down my spine. “Would you ever let a worthless creep like Eddie fucking Munson in your pants? Would you ever even—”
“No! I—” I flinched at my own voice, instinctually finding Eddie’s gaze. He looked away quickly, ducking his head to avoid meeting anyone’s eyes, especially mine. “I wouldn’t—”
“That’s what I thought,” said Pete, relaxing his hold on me and finally following me as I made a beeline out of the cafeteria, abandoning my lunch tray on an empty table. “No one would ever want a fucking animal like you, Munson, you got that? Do you got that!?”
The door to the cafeteria slammed shut, and I was walking away with Pete hot on my heels. Nowhere in particular, just away, and not long after I’d be walking away across the stage at graduation, and walking away from my family’s concerns at Pete got angrier and more controlling, demanding I stay in Hawkins with him instead of going to my dream school out-of-state, and walking away from my own misery for as long as I could, until I had no option but to run, and everyone else had no option but to watch me disappear over the horizon.
Eddie smiles slightly, but shows no other sign of surprise. “Ask away.”
“How’d you kill me?”
He blanches. “What?”
“Sorry, poor phrasing,” I laugh. “I, uh, never heard how you killed off my character.”
“Oh,” Eddie says, smiling a bit. “I didn’t. I said your character had been kidnapped by a vengeful genasi, and you’d been lost to the mortal realm forever.”
“I see. Absolutely no parallels to real life.”
“Of course not,” says Eddie, faux solemnity on his face. Silence washes over us, and I can't decide if it's the good kind or the bad kind. He's watching me, and his attention wraps around me in an uncomfortably thorough way. Like he can see my thoughts playing like film reels in my eyes. I look away.
"Speaking of the devil, what's Pete up to these days?"
My eyes flick around the room, finding everything but his face. "Not sure. I, uh, think he's living in Cincinnati. I haven't spoken to him since, uh… you know." Eddie nods, and silence washes over us again. Definitely the bad kind this time. I stand. "I'm gonna go grab some food from the house. Any requests?" He shakes his head, and I walk out of the boathouse to the sound of Eddie Munson not knowing what to say.
I figure I'd be used to it by now. The awkward pity that comes with any conversation about my ex. Pete Caulder is a psycopath, and he'd advertised that fact to everyone in Hawkins, along with the fact that I was the stupid little girl desperate and lonely enough to be with him.
I pull a bag of Cheetos out of the cabinet, and dig through the freezer for an unopened pint of chocolate ice cream. I open the fridge for a third time that night, hoping that some kind of fruit or vegetable magically appeared since the last time. I frown. Just beer and soda and styrofoam take out boxes whose contents have started to stink up the fridge. Fucking stoners.
A car drives by, a pair of headlights lighting up the closed blinds in a flash. It's gone just as quickly and I let out a breath. I start towards the back door and towards Eddie, dreading another few hours of unbearable tension.
“Can I ask you a question?” Eddie asks, popping a spoonful of ice cream into his mouth. I nod, equally as focused on the pint of chocolate. I wait for him to speak, looking up and meeting his eyes when he still doesn’t ask anything.
“Eddie?”
He considers me, looking back down at the ice cream before speaking. “Did you mean what you said?”
I don’t need to ask him to clarify. Did I mean it when I agreed with Pete, when I affirmed his claims that Eddie was a freak, a loser, a worthless creep. I stick the spoon back in the pint of ice cream and cross my arms over my chest.
“You know, he talked about you all the time.”
“Pete?”
I nod. “If he passed your van while driving or saw something D&D related in a bookstore, he wouldn’t shut up about you.” I swallowed. “He’d talk about your taste in music, and how you were repeating your senior year, and talk shit about your uncle and your living situation, and just everything about you. But what it always came back to was how he had saved me from you. He’d never shut up about how he’d saved me from you. And then as our relationship started going even farther south, I’d think back to that day in the cafeteria and how you—” I cough, clearing the lump that formed in my throat. “And how you tried to save me from him.” I look up at him. “And I wish I would’ve seen it then. I knew you were a good person, and I could never agree with what he said about you, even if I didn’t have the backbone to disagree out loud.”
“Hey, no, that’s not—”
“No, no, let me finish,” I say, letting out a breath. Eddie nods for me to continue. “I saw the facts. I saw that you were kind. I saw that you were caring, and I could infer that you cared about me. And so, it didn’t… compute when you made it clear you didn’t approve of someone who I thought cared about me too. And in that moment, I had to choose between two different realities, two different truths, and I chose the one that hurt less. I chose the reality in which the person I chose to be with loved me and respected me, and in that delusion, I hurt you.” He looks down at his lap at that, and I duck my head so he meets my eyes. “And I’m sorry.”
Eddie is silent for a moment, before saying, “You know, you’re really emotionally mature for someone our age.”
“Having a shithole boyfriend will do that to you,” I say.
“Ugh, I’m so glad I can say that he’s a shithole now,” he says, sighing. “Pete Caulder is a piece of shit.”
“A piece of shit,” I affirm, smiling.
“A no-good, worthless creep,” he says, his lips tugging up at the corner.
“Pete Caulder is a psychotic asshole, and I don’t care who knows it!”
“Peter Bradely Caulder is a deadbeat, Ken-doll douche-wipe!” Eddie says, standing and yelling it across Lover’s Lake. “Fuck. Pete. Caulder.”
“Okay, okay, shhhh, we don’t want people to know we’re here,” I say, laughing and pulling him back down into his seat. “And I am sorry.”
Eddie shakes his head. “You have nothing to apologize for, and if you think that you do, then voila!” He spreads his hands in a grand flourish, nearly knocking a tackle box off a table. “This is me forgiving you.”
“God, I missed you,” I say.
“I missed you too, kid,” he says, his expression softening.
“I’m two months older than you, so you can’t call me kid.”
Eddie furrows his brows. “How do you know that? I’ve never told you when my birthday is.”
I cover my face with my hands and groan. “Well, I asked your uncle about it that one time I needed to pick up my Player’s Handbook from your house, because I wanted to know what your sign was. I wanted to know if our signs were, uh, compatible.”
Eddie crosses his arms over his chest. “And why would you need to know that, Miss Waters?”
“Let’s just say Pete Caulder is in fact a douche-wipe, but he was right about one thing.” Silence swallows any and all sound between us. “He definitely should have been worried about me being into Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson.”

do you have any headcanons about nate and bronwyn?
Firstly, I’m going to be honest with you here, when I first saw this in my inbox, I literally squealed!! This was actually so unexpected but it made me really happy :)
Now, honestly, I hadn’t really thought about Natewyn headcanons before, but when I fished my mind for some, here we are!! I hope you enjoy! :P
Let’s start from the basics, yeah?
-When Bronwyn goes to Yale, they start talking/texting/watching movies every night to give the long distance thing a try. (Let's keep the second book at the back of our heads now, shall we?)
-Nearing midterms, Bronwyn has a big test coming up, but she forgets to mention it to Nate and ends up studying the whole night without giving him a text.
-Back home, Nate is a mess.
-When she hasn't texted him for one night, he was pretty sure she'd found someone else, someone better than him. (WhiCh cOuLD bE aNyoNE!?)
-But then Maeve, like the wonderful Natewyn Cupid™ she is, assures him that Bronwyn had a test and was probably busy studying.
-When Bronwyn finally calls, Nate was ready to give her an earful for not texting him, but instead ends-up telling her not to scare him like that again. (And between the lines that he missed her very much.)
-Once they were watching a movie which Nate had already watched before, and when the actors on screen were confessing their “undying love” for each other, Nate silently whispers the lines and Bronwyn hears him and has tears in her eyes.
-I feel like Bronwyn would have tears in her eyes whenever Nate would tell her that he loved her because, a) Nate isn't the type of person to do that very often and b) because I feel like Bronwyn would be the type of person who gets emotional really quickly. Especially when it comes to Nate.
-When they would have fights and not talk to each other (for like, a week max.), Nate (Or Bronwyn) would call the other person to randomly tell/ask something about Maeve, (Maeve’s like the secret weapon holding them together when there’s a fight), and then upon finally hearing each other’s voice, one of them would always crack.
-Predictably, Maeve was beyond happy when she found out about this.
-Nate would definitely learn Spanish, to impress her and also to understand what she and Maeve and her parents would talk about when he’s around.
-He tries proposing to her for marriage in Spanish, but then fails in the proper “Macauley Way”
-But Bronwyn would be beyond ecstatic and she wouldn’t even care that he called her a sheep. (By mistake.)
-Also, Nate adores Bronwyn’s hair.
-Whenever they’re cuddling or sleeping or hugging each other, Nate would unconsciously start playing with it.
-Inspired by Addy, once Bronwyn randomly asked Nate if she should consider getting a hair-cut and he was like, “No Bronwyn! No, GOD, DON’T!!!”
-Bronwyn would definitely force ask Nate to join them for the Rojas family dinner.
-Up close, her parents actually notice that he’s actually really smart and witty and keeps them on their toes, so sometimes, they end-up having him over even when Bronwyn’s at Yale.
-Aside from Nate and Bronwyn themselves, the only person simply euphoric about their relationship is Mrs. Ellen Macauley, Nate’s mom. And that’s a fact.
-When they finally decide to do… NSFW stuff, (pardon me, but I’m still very much awkward.) I feel like Bronwyn would actually be the one to put it on the table.
-And from there I’m torn between them having an amazing night to Nate is so scared and cautious that he’ll hurt her, Bronwyn’s just like, “Oh, Come ON!”
-Because as stated in the infamous “media-room scene”, Bronwyn notices that Nate’s hands are “surprisingly PG.”
-Also, Nate surprises Bronwyn at Yale like, all the time.
-And almost every girl at her hostel swoons over the “rad dude with a bad ‘tude.”
-Bronwyn’s roommate harbors a tiny crush on Nate, and she subtly flirts with him whenever she gets the chance.
-Nate doesn’t know about the crush, so he plays along, thinking that Bronwyn’ll be happy that he’s mixing up.
-But all Bronwyn feels is jealousy, jealousy.
-So when Bronwyn finally decides to talk to Nate about it, his surprise visits don't stop, but they meet at different places other than her dorm room.
-Also, last point because I’m dry, I feel like Nate and Bronwyn aren’t exactly the type of couple to show PDA very often, but sometimes, looking at Nate, just being the amazing guy that he is, Bronwyn can’t stop herself and just… melts onto him.
-Like shown in the cafeteria when Nate defends Copper when others make fun of him for being gay, and Bronwyn’s just like, “Oh God, He’s so amazing, I can’t help it. ” and then kisses him in front of everyone in the cafeteria.
___
Well, I hope these headcanons were good enough for you Anon, and thank you so much for sending in the ask! 💖

Jungkook is floating.
He thinks about what lies above the waves, and cant think of anything he really finds interesting. The surface is littered in junk, in things humans leave behind without thinking twice about it. It's air is thick and stuffy, hard to breathe and never clear at all. It's crowded, with creatures who at the end of the day all look the same in his eyes. There's nothing exciting about the world people walk on.
Its boring, and dirty.
His own home is, compared to that, a kingdom radiating like the moon itself. It shines and sparkles, and harbors some of the most beautiful creatures ever to be found. He and his family, as well as everyone else, live in peace with nature down underneath the waves, existing side by side instead of trying to gain the upper hand all the time.
And he's reminded of the cruelty of man, when he finds himself caught in a net.
He's somehow made the fishermen drop it instead of pulling him up on their boat. But that doesn't mean he's free- he's still struggling with it, fighting it, but he cant rip it apart. All he does really, is tie the knots tighter, have them dig into his skin until spots are rubbed raw. He can't really swim anywhere at this point, gives up as he can see the last lights of his distant home fade into the distance.
Jungkook is floating.
He's slowly being led by the waves, by the love of wind and waters, as he closes his eyes. Its a pity, really; for a prince held so high to die by the mere hands of the poor, he thinks. It's upsetting him, very much so, but he takes it as it is. There's nothing he can do anyways, as he slowly comes into contact with the sand below. It washes him up onto short, the dry sand sticking to his body, waves pushing him higher and higher onto the ground.
He shivers, the cold outside air biting at his skin now unsheltered and defenseless.
He doesn't know how long he lays there.
But at some point, steps are heard on the sand. He keeps his eyes closed, doesn't care about what will happen next- he really just wants to have it be over by now, the ropes already painfully burning his skin at certain spots. He's sure theres sand in his wounds as something touches him- warm fingers, hesitant, and almost shy.
He keeps his eyes closed.
"My god, I hate humans.." You mutter under your breath, your voice hitting his ears, making him notice the way it sounds. He thinks it sounds very similar to some of his kind; sirens being blessed with voices sweet and enchanting. Maybe you were one of the strays who had decided to live on the surface for some reason? But your smell was entirely human, although much sweeter and pleasant than anyone he'd met before. And then, after a small short moment of pain-
He's free.
His arms flop to his side, and he breathes in deeply- finally able to fully move again. His eyes open, and adjust to the night for a moment, before they meet yours.
How interesting.

"Jungkook?" Jimin asks him, curious to what has gotten the young Siren so occupied. Typically, Jungkook would be watching the annual kingdom dances with at least some form of interest; even if it was just a glimpse of it, just to make his parents worry less about him misbehaving. But today, as the graceful dancers move around to the orchestra playing, the young prince is absolutely not there. At least not mentally. "Jungkook." The older one scolds, getting Jungkooks attention- his gaze hard and annoyed. "Please, young prince- at least try to pretend you're interested. This is after all part of our culture." He strategically uses his title as teasing- something which makes Jungkook snort without any fun.
"I really don't want to be here." He explains, and Jimin sighs. "I'd rather be at the surface.." He mumbles, being careful not to be too loud- but Jimin does pick it up, and so does his partner, Taehyung, next to him- now leaning a bit forward to hear better.
"Oh?" Jimin asks. "What could be of interest there, I wonder?" He teases, and Jungkook grows even more irritated.
"Nothing that should interest a whore like you." He says harshly, though Jimin knows he means no harm with it. Jimin is, after all, a man who enjoys the simple pleasures in life- which is why he can't quite grasp why Jungkook, a young man in his prime like himself, doesn't seem to care about whats going on around him.
"Hm, but I think she must be absolutely divine if you're willing to risk the wrath of your own mother just to see her." He says, and Taehyung snickers next to him, clearly amused.
But to both of their surprise, Jungkook grows.. calm. Theres even a glimpse of a smile on his lip as he rests his head on his head, elbow on the armrest of his throne. "That she is." He says, quietly, as he watches the young woman in front of him. He has to imagine you there instead, moving oh so gracefully to the sounds of his Kingdom's greatest musicians- dressed in the most beautiful gown he'd gift you. "That she is.." He repeats, a dreaming look on his face that Jimin has not seen before.
Tumblr media
Jungkook watches you.
He enjoys watching you on your daily trips to the beach, picking up cans and bottles, and other things people throw away without care. You're cleaning up the beach, and he thinks its a very good behavior- he likes the way you always carefully scan the ground and sides for any garbage. He swims a little closer as he spots you squatting down; eyes lighting up as you pick up a shell he'd personally not care much for. It's slightly pink- but nothing he hasn't seen in his life. They're so common, and he suddenly thinks that if this already makes you happy, what if he was to bring you something else? Something better, something more worth your attention?
He feels a rush of excitement.
Dashing into the opposite direction, he makes his way towards the ground below, eyes scanning the ground as he searches for something. He spots it after a few minutes of searching, but when he holds the pearl, he hesitates.
Its not enough.
No, that's not what you should get. He's only paying back his dept, yeah, that's what he's doing. But what if he was overdoing it by bringing you something too expensive or rare? No, he should be smart about it, yeah. Start small, and work your way up he thinks, as he takes the pearls he's collected while deep in thought, and pushes himself back to the top, swimming easily. He hopes you're still there-
And there you are, dipping your feet into the water.
He looks at what he can see; only able to see clearly underneath the waves rather than above. There's a bracelet hanging around your ankle, and it looks cheap, he thinks. It only helps him by giving him ideas for his next gifts- if you would accept his first, that is. He's never been rejected before, but then again, has always rejected instead. Nothing had interested him to the extend you did. Maybe you really were of his kind, secretly.
When he slowly brings his head up the waves, you don't get scared, or flinch. You simply look, spot him, and smile.
He likes that expression.
He comes closer, free hand helping him onto the stone you sit on, his hand holding your gift eagerly pushing against yours. You understand quickly, and open them, and he smiles. You're smart, he notes, and it only adds to your qualities, he thinks. Dropping the pearls, your eyes sparkle again- as they should, he thinks with pride. You inspect them with big eyes, as if you've never seen something alike. He enjoys your reaction- and you nod at him. "Thank you- are they for me to keep?" You ask, pointing to them, and then at your chest. He's not fully fluent in human language, but has picked up on some words and phrases, since Seokjin had recently strayed- teaching him some stuff whenever he got bored and visited his younger brother.
So Jungkook nods. "You." He says, and you like the sound of his voice; fittingly just as handsome as the rest of him, you think. But then again- his kind is known for its beauty and enchanting voices. "Keep." He tells you, pushing your closed palm a bit closer to your body as if to underline his statement. You think its cute, in a way.
"Okay." You say. "I'll keep them-?" You ask, and he doesn't understand, until you point to yourself, and say a name- yours, he supposes.
"Ah-" He starts, pointing to himself. "Jungkook. Jeon, Jungkook." He tells you, and you nod, smiling.
"It's nice to meet you, Jeon Jungkook." You smile, and he grins back, slightly sharpened canines in stark contrast with his bunny-like smile.
He thinks its nice to meet you too.
Tumblr media
"But you're a witch, aren't you?" Jungkook argues, staring at Taehyung. "I thought you were all so capable." He challenges, and Taehyungs eyes darken- quite literally, since sea witches do technically have black eyes- but conceal them, as to not scare off people. He regains his composure however when Jimins hand lays on his shoulder.
"Now now, no need to become huffy." He says. "He didn't say he can't do it- he simply told you that its not that easy." He explains, and Jungkook sighs, rolling his eyes. Ever the spoiled prince, they think to themselves.
"I don't care about that." He states. "Can you do it, or can you not?" He asks, and Taehyung thinks for a moment.
"I.." He begins, before he sighs. "I can. But, there's a catch, Jungkook." He tells him, and this time, the youngest of the group seems just as serious as he listens. "I can't promise that.. the result will be what you will expect." He says.
"What do you mean?" Jungkook asks.
"There's a chance she won't survive it."
Tumblr media
He doesn't think much about why you're so often sitting on that rocky structure close to the deep- he likes not having to get out of the water to be close to you. And you think, Jungkook is quite the interesting being.
He’s curious; that much you can tell. His hands rest on your knees, your toes sometimes brushing against his abdomen as he swims closer- face coming forward to properly look at you. His vision must be bad outside of the waters you assume, his brown eyes squinting in concentration until he huffs and let’s himself back into the waters. You chuckle, and simply take off your jacket, slipping into the water as well as you control your breath- his entire face brightening at your body now underwater in his world, finally clear to see for his eyes.
You’re pretty, he thinks, definitely prettier than any other human he’d encountered before. The clothes covering your breasts and private parts a bit dull and boring for his taste- but he’d change that soon. He smiles, happy, before holding up his finger as if to signal for you to wait before he swims away, elegantly and fast. You swim up to breath some air, catch your breath, until there’s a hand around your calf, holding, fingers running over the skin, signaling you to come down again. You follow his question, taking a deep breath to meet him underneath the surface; his excited hands wrapping something around your neck, before he swims in circles as if he’s suddenly got too much energy. You point to yourself, as if to ask if you can keep it- and he nods, wide eyes watching you with a smile that you can’t help but mirror.
You don't quite realize what he's doing.
He however thinks you know. You know that he's courting you, and you're interested in him. You know that he's just given you more than a simple gift. He only believes you're letting him work for it- something he happily does, taking on the challenge as always. He swims closer, holds your shoulders, as his eyes look into yours, his gaze happy and child-like almost. He's close to finally showing you affection- but you suddenly swim to the surface instead.
And even though he knows you only wanted to breathe, he can't help but feel slightly sour at the ruined moment.
Tumblr media
"You're awfully happy these days." His mother says, watching her son in the gardens of the palace. "May I ask what has gotten you in such a bright mood?" She asks, and Jungkook doesn't quite know how to break it to her. He knows its not forbidden, knows it has, and does, happen each and every day it seems- but there's still fear inside of him. Theres still hesitation, even though he is not ashamed of what has happened- of what he has done. His mother however notices. "You know you can trust me, right?" She says, and he nods.
Its now or never.
"I've found a mate." He says, and his mother smiles warmly, holding his cheek as she kisses it in congratulation. "Its a human." He says, quietly, hurried- but his mother continues to smile.
"I have suspected as much." She states. "Your friend- Park Jimin- is not very good at talking quietly." She snickers, and Jungkook curses under his breath about how he wants to strangle him. Theres a huge weight lifted off of him however; finally having said it, made it very real to him, in a way- even though it was already.
Because, after all; you were wearing his kingdom's sigil around your neck already. He had claimed you.
Tumblr media
He's restless the next time he swims to the shore to meet you again- eager to see you to give you the news of his family's acceptance.
You're late- later than usual, and his brows are furrowed, mood upset at your mannerism. You're usually always on time, always just as eager to see him he thinks- but this time, you're not there. After his anger however, he grows increasingly worried instead. What if something had happened to you instead? Oh what a bad person he would be to be mad at you for getting into an unfortunate situation. As guilt slowly makes his way into his body, claims his muscles, he moves to sit on the stone he usually finds you on. He tries to look around- rain on his skin making it possible to be out way more comfortably.
He spots movement above.
Theres a person he can't make out- throwing something off the cliff down into the sea, and Jungkook clicks his tongue in anger, already upset- but still curious on what it was the person had been so eager to discard. Typically, its tiny things or plastic he finds- but this is something else, he knows.
Underwater, he smells blood.
His pupils contract, eyes widening, as he spots the black bag slowly making its way to the bottom of the sea- red trail leading from it. Its not the blood however that makes him frantic- its the smell of it, of you, that stops his heart.
He gets you out the bag, his anger over the entire situation diminishing into nothing as he holds you close, eyes spotting the deep cut on your side, and the scratches on your face. Unsure where to bring you, he holds you close, brings you onto his back as one of his hands hold yours, your arms around his neck. He swims quickly to the only place he knows you can breathe.
The underwater cave is big enough for now, he thinks, as he brings your body onto the ground, out the water. He doesn't notice he's crying, doesn't quite speak, his native language of clicking sounds and little noises escaping him as he whines out for your attention, waiting for you to wake up somehow. He's been so invested in making you like him and accept him that he's got no idea what to do with a human. Are you cold? How can he warm you up? How does he stop bleeding wounds? How much can you bleed before you die? Are you already dying?
Jungkook doesn't know what to do. So he simply lays by your side, holding you close, in hopes his slightly higher body temperature can keep you warm.
Tumblr media
"He's doing the best he can-" Jimin says, Seokjin next to Taehyung as they both lean over your body. Both witches are concentrated, already exhausted, but there's no way they're giving up on you now. Not only because you're important to Jungkook- but because no one deserves to simply die like this.
"I know, I know!" Jungkook huffs out, pupils turned into cat like slits- a clear sign of the absolute terror and chaos inside of him. "What if they're best isn't good enough? Jimin, I can't loose her, you don't understand-" He starts, but Jimin holds the younger one's shoulders, for the first time serious with him.
"I do." He glances at Taehyung. Jimin had saved Taehyung before as well- the young sea witch having been hit by a fisherman's harpoon years ago. Ever since then, Jimin had been attached to the witch like glue. "Trust me, I really do. And they're doing all they can to make sure she's going to be fine." He promises, and Jungkook nods.
All he can do is pray.
Tumblr media
When you wake up, there's several things you notice.
First, you're alive. Having a raging headache, and your limbs and muscles feel horribly tender, but you're alive. There's also strings of rope tied to two rock formations acting like a clothing line, several blankets and clothes hanging from it. They don't look human-made to you- the fabrics and designs not something you would think of as regular. There's a bucket and several stained rags- now copper-brown with old blood. Its then that you look down, seeing your cut sewed shut.
You also notice its rather soft underneath you.
Its sheepskin laid over seaweed you notice- the whool soft and fluffy, and warm. Everything seems to be so thoughtfully placed, even some decorative items- you can spot fireflies casually sitting in a jar close by, and burned wood, probably to . Probably to make light during the night. You're tired however, so you simply lay down again. Quite honestly, surely you should fee worried about the situation- but then again, there was no one to miss you, no place you called your home anyways. No use in worrying- because deep down, you had your suspicion.
A Jungkook swims to the surface with the plastic box in his arms, he's careful not to throw it too hard onto the ground. As he steps out the water, he's sure to at least try and his his hands of most the water before he goes to check on the blankets he had brought this early morning. They've dried enough, he notices, and is glad about that, as he picks one up.
You don't have to be cold anymore, he thinks.
He's unnaturally careful for his typical character- his usual behavior quite the opposite as it was now. Now, he's making sure you're properly tucked in, as he notices your eyes watching him.
He freezes, for a moment.
Jungkook hasn't really thought much about what would happen if you were to wake up- after all, Seokjin had told him he was unsure if you were to wake up this early in the first place, and Taehyung didn't even know if you would wake up at all. He'd told his younger brother to be prepared for any reaction really; fear, confusion, maybe even anger. But you seem calm, curious even, and Jungkook decides to sit down in front of your face, waiting.
"You brought me here, right?" You ask, and he nods, eyes not leaving your form.
"You-.. hurt." He points to the spot where your wound had been. "Also hurt." His hand points to your head. "Brothers, helped." He informs you, and you smile, nodding at his words. He suddenly looks at the ground, mumbling. "I.. worried. Thought... you, dying." He tells you, and you sit up slowly again, keeping the blanket around your shoulders.
"I'm not dead though." You say, and he nods. "Thank you, Jungkook. Now we're even." You say, and he tilts his head in confusion- a mannerism you could only think of as cute. "I saved you- you saved me." You say, and he smiles, nodding.
"I-" He starts, leaning forward a bit, now way more energetic and lighthearted as before. "I- we-" He growls a little in frustration, and you cant help but giggle at his troubles- the chirps and clicks escaping him foreign- but somehow, they feel hazy, as if your mind knows the language, but has forgotten what it meant. He's trying so hard you notice, and appreciate. "You like here?" He asks, and points around. You nod, and he beams at you. "I made." He tells you, proudly so.
"I guessed as much. Its very thoughtful of you, thank you." You say, and he nods, happy you like what he did for you. Its not a permanent solution, obviously, but as soon as you're healed well enough, he already planned a new spot for you to come with him.
You just don't know it yet.
Tumblr media
There's a weird feeling inside of you.
It's like homesickness, you think. Every time you look at the waters, you feel- sad? It's making you uneasy, and with every day passing by, it just gets worse and worse. But it's today, that you cant take it.
When you dip your legs into the water, it soothes an ache you can't recognize ever having. It helps your skin, it somehow feels as if you're breathing again. But It's not enough, you think- before you let yourself fall into the deep end.
You're floating.
It's like leaving a stuffy and crowded mall, just to stand in a park, fresh air after it had rained, and light breeze clearing your head. Everything is silent, but not at the same time- the water around you feeling as if you're being hugged, held. It makes you relax, makes you let go, makes you only exist for a moment.
You're floating.
And there's a sudden wave of realization that you're also breathing. There's no water in your lungs- or maybe there is, and you just don't feel it being there. Darkness surrounds you as you don't know where you are exactly- theres no telling where is where, no way to know if you're upright or not. Maybe you've died?
Did you drown?
If you did, it would explain Jungkook being there. He's swimming towards you with a face full of worry, as he grabs your wrist and holds you close. "I can't even let you out of my sight for a mere day it seems, my love." He sighs, and your eyes widen. Its almost comedic how his own do the same, focusing on your neck, as he touches.
You're sensitive, and shift away from his touch.
"It-" He starts, now holding your shoulders, as he begins to smile. "It worked! It really did- by the dragon kind, you look absolutely divine!" He laughs, and can't help but hold your hands, eyes roaming your appearance, as you don't quite get it- until you follow his gaze.
Just like him, there's fins now on the sides of your calfs, smaller ones on your ankles as well. Theres also ones decorating your outer forearms- they look like the ones you'd always see on goldfish as a kid. There's something alike to scales as well, but barely noticable. "I- what happened to me?" You ask, and Junkook smiles.
"You.. almost died." He admits, taking your hand and swimming to what you assume is back towards the cave. "You had been robbed during the day, and when I found you.. well, you know what happened." He says. "While you were asleep, we were thinking about what to do. There was no way you would survive as a human- so, a friend of mine- Taehyung- performed a ritual, together with Seokjin, my brother." He says. You finally spot light, glad to be able to have at least some form of orientation. "I'm glad you're adjusting so quickly, my love." He states, smiling at you.
You notice the petname again.
"Jungkook-" You start, as you both reach the cave again, sitting on the edge of where the ground of the cave meets the water. "Why are you.. calling me that?" You ask, and Jungkook seems confused.
"Why do you ask?" He questions. And you don't quite follow, until he continues. "You're my mate- I am only addressing you as such."
Your eyes widen. "Wait- we're-" You start, and its only then that it clicks in Jungkooks head.
"Oh." He says- the dissapointment bitter and evident in his voice. "You.. didn't know?" He asks, and you shake your head, unsure what he means. "I see.." He tells you, suddenly distant. "I.. will bring you breakfast tomorrow.. sleep well." He abruptly says, and before you can say anything, he's already gone.
What just happened?
Tumblr media
"There you are!" A voice says, deeper than Jungkooks, but not unfamiliar. Taehyung had been visiting and bringing you food and nescessities ever since that talk with Jungkook. This time, however, Taehyung seems like he wants to say something. You look at him, silently urging him, and he sits down next to you, sighing.
"Does he hate me?" You ask, quietly, and Taehyung looks sad.
"He could never." He says. "He just.. didn't take the rejection well. He'll need time to come around. It won't take that much time- his mother is already trying to get a new partner for him." He explains, and your head whips around towards him. "I- you.. did reject him, right?" He asks, slowly. "You do.. not love him, right?" He urges again, and you groan suddenly, throwing your face into your hands.
"Oh my god I'm so stupid.." You say. "It all.. everything was so overwhelming, I didn't even notice what he was doing." You cry into your hands, as Taehyungs hand places itself onto your back, trying to soothe you. "I though.. especially after I found out about his status.." You mumble. "How could he want me?" You ask, and Taehyung sighs.
"Head up, little siren." He says. "He's still able to hear you sing, if you want to." He says, and you look at him.
"But how?" You say. "I have no idea where the kingdom, or anything really is. And he won't come see me until its too late." You say.
"Well-" Taehyung says, standing up, and holding out his hand. "-allow me to escort the future princess to her lover."
Tumblr media
"How did you find me?" He simply asks, not turning around, as you float closer. "I'm sorry, but I still need time to.. get over-" He starts, but you don't let him finish, instead leaning into his back, your arms around his middle.
"I'm stupid." You say. "I'm really, really stupid." He shakes his head, but you continue. "Just because I didn't realize- doesn't mean that I don't feel anything for you." You say. "I just.. felt unworthy, I guess. Insignificant." You admit, and he turns around, holding your face in his hands.
"You really are not gifted with the mind of the dragons king, my love." He states teasingly, the glimmer in his eyes returning. "My status means nothing to me, if that meant I could not have you." He says, and you lean forward, capturing his lips. "I hope you know what this meant, at least." He teases, and your eyes widen, scared you might've done something wrong. "It means you love me." He says, and you chuckle.
"Good." You say. "Because I do."
Tumblr media
Even though he thinks you looked like a goddess reborn in your white and pearl decorated gown from the wedding, he enjoys you without it, close to him, just as much. He's alive, he's feeling, he's in love, as his hands move over your skin, his senses filled with you and nothing else.
The sounds you make for him are sweeter than any siren's song he's ever heard or could ever sing himself. No member of his kind is as enchanting as you, he decides, as he bites and kisses the sensitive skin of your neck. Jimin had teased him relentlessly the entire evening and night by trying to send you sweet words, to which you didn't react- but that didn't mean that it didn't piss him off.
You were his.
His princess- and soon to be queen, one day.
And he's planning on making that very evident, as he marks up your skin with little bites, visible for everyone to see. He wants everyone to know, even though by tomorrow, the entire Kingdom will celebrate the marriage of its prince anyways. He's more than ready to show you off, to hold you close, to have people see the divine being at his side that's you.
It's only natural for his hands to roam your skin, for his lips to worhip every inch it seems, as you reach out for his hand every second it leaves you. It's painfully endearing he thinks, how you can be so innocent and pure, while he's between your legs, performing the sinful act of pleasuring you with his mouth.
You pull him towards you, as you straddle his waist, leaning down to kiss him. He's in god's divine lands he thinks, as he suddenly feels you sinking down on his awaiting length. You fit around him perfectly, more so than he could've ever imagined. And as you both move, he holds you close, happy that here, in his world, he doesn't need to breathe.
He can kiss you as long as he wants.

hi eve! i was wondering if you would be interested in writing a coops shower fic, nothing smutty, just really soft and sensual and maybe comforting. i’m going through a tough time right now and your writing always cheers me up. thanks <3
Yes! This was combined with an ask for Coops' first day/ night living together--I hope you enjoy! SW credit goes to @lumosinlove
TW for showering together (nothing smutty, just fluff)
They tumbled through the front door in a mess of laughter and rainwater—Remus’ soaked sneakers slipped on the floor and he skidded into Sirius, who was still blinded by the damp hair hanging in his eyes. “Shit!” Remus spluttered around his breathless grin as they struggled to keep their balance. “Baby, baby, grab the door—”
The front door slammed shut and steadied them just as another bolt of lightning cracked overhead; they stood in the entrance, panting and drenched, before Sirius’ chest began to shake beneath Remus’ cheek once more. “Mon dieu,” he snickered, leaning his head back against the heavy wood. “Which god did we piss off?”
“I’m taking this as a good sign.” Remus shivered as he shook his raincoat out on the welcome mat. “A fresh start, and all that symbolism.”
“Okay, college boy.”
He peeled one wet sock off and snapped it at Sirius’ hip, but the extra water weight made him miss by a mile and Sirius just shot him a teasing grin while he wriggled out of his tshirt. “I told you to bring a jacket,” Remus said wryly as his head got stuck. “But oh no, sweetheart, it’s totally not going to rain today. The weatherman is always wrong, it’s been sunny all week—”
“Alright, alright,” Sirius grumbled from the depths of wet fabric, waving one hand in his general direction. “You’re very smart.”
“Do you want first shower?”
Sirius’ cheeks were pink when he finally freed himself, both from his efforts and their mad five-block dash home. His brows furrowed in confusion. “Aren’t we showering together?”
Remus shrugged. “Hey, it’s your house.”
“Our house,” he corrected, taking the hem of Remus’ shirt and helping him pull it over his head.
A little flurry of joy ran through Remus’ gut at his words; goosebumps broke out over his freezing skin, and he could feel a dopey smile spread over his face. Ours. Most of his stuff had been living at Sirius’ for a couple days, but he had only brought the last of it over and dropped his key off with his landlord that morning. The last six hours had been filled with delirious happiness every time he remembered. “Then lead the way, captain.”
Sirius kissed his chilly nose and took him by the hand—both their palms were clammy and half-numb from the rain, and Remus didn’t care one bit. Stripping down was significantly more difficult when every article of clothing seemed dead-set on becoming a second skin, but after a handful of minor mishaps and more than one muffled curse, they were finally standing under warm water.
Remus closed his eyes with a sigh, letting the steam wrap around every inch of him. His apartment may have been comfortable, but it was severely lacking in water pressure and heat compared to Sirius’ house.
Our house.
He hummed to himself and stepped back until his shoulder blades were pressed to Sirius’ chest; there was a low laugh, then callused fingers running through his hair. “What are you thinking about?”
“Our house,” he answered, turning to stand on his toes and place a kiss to Sirius’ lips. It was chaste and unhurried; there was no time constraint on how long they could spend there. Remus didn’t have to worry about getting home too late, or whether he had brought enough stuff to stay the night. Everything he wanted was within reach.
Sirius smiled against his lips and draped his arms over Remus’ shoulders, tugging playfully on the wet curls at the base of his neck. “Good thoughts?”
“Always,” he said immediately. “This is…it’s so good, Sirius. So good. I am so happy.”
Their next kiss was deeper, but there was no real heat behind it, even as Remus curled his hands around the sharp peaks of Sirius’ hips. “I love you,” Sirius murmured when they pulled back for air. He bumped their noses together. “And I can’t wait to have you here all the time.”
“You don’t have to wait at all.”
His grin widened and he kissed Remus again. “I know.”
Remus nuzzled into the side of his neck and relaxed into the soapy slide of Sirius’ hand down his spine. He hadn’t realized how cold he was until the hot water started pouring over him, and sudden sleepiness trickled into the edges of his thoughts like rain through a gutter. The steam turned minty fresh as Sirius washed the expanse of his shoulders, then his neck, then all the way down each arm; he dropped a teasing pinch to Remus’ ass, but moved right back up to rub his thumb in the crook of one elbow.
“Do you want me to wash your hair?” he asked quietly against Remus’ temple.
“Mmm, please,” was all Remus could muster in response.
He had never really understood the hype about physical affection before he met Sirius. Sure, hugs from his parents and Jules were amazing, and fist bumps from the guys always made him feel included, but the gravitational pull Sirius had was like nothing he had ever felt. It was impossible to be uncomfortable if Remus was within five feet of him—impossible to feel unsafe when he fit so neatly in the dip of one shoulder.
“Love you,” he said around a slow exhale as Sirius began combing the conditioner through his hair. It was almost long enough to flop into his eyes, something that seemed to delight Sirius any time he saw it.
Warm lips brushed the shell of his ear for a moment. “You smell like la lavande.”
“Lavender?” Sirius hummed his approval and Remus raised his head just enough to kiss the water off his collarbone. “Do you like it?”
“Love it.” Sirius glanced down at him with a sideways smile, making one dimple pop. “Love you. Where did you get this?”
“Walgreens.”
That startled a laugh from him, which set Remus off as well. “Walgreens? Really?”
“I ran out one day at, like, midnight and it was the closest place. It smelled nice, so I just kept on buying it.”
Sirius shook his head with the same awed look on his face. “The secret to illegally soft hair is Walgreens conditioner. Amazing. My hair would riot.”
Remus frowned. “Your hair looks incredible even after you swim in salt water all day.”
“And then it tangles, and frizzes, and—” He paused. “Comment dit-on une colère? Like a toddler?”
“A tantrum?”
“Ouais.” Remus tilted his chin back obediently to let him wash the conditioner out. “It throws a tantrum. See, this is why I need you around all the time.”
“I have never seen your hair throw a tantrum before.” Sirius’ cheeks flushed and he bit his lip around a smile; Remus poked him lightly in the chest. “What?”
“Nothing.”
“That’s an awfully big smile for nothing.”
His silver eyes shone as he placed yet another gentle kiss to Remus’ lips through the water running down both their faces. “You get to see it all the time now. No more going back to your apartment after we go places.”
“You’ll be subjected to my bedhead every morning,” Remus teased, resting their foreheads together as he reached for the soap.
“I love your bedhead.”
“I’m counting on it.” He took the bar of soap and ran it along the planes of Sirius’ chest, then around his back to trace every muscle. He could feel Sirius’ gaze on him with each movement and warmed from the inside out at the attention. Every bit of rainy cold that had snuck under his skin vanished in the minutes of comfortable quiet.
Thunder rolled through the sky when they finally turned the shower off and wrapped up in Sirius’ fluffiest towels—Remus’ own were significantly less fancy, but they remained in the linen closet on equal standing. It was silent things like that that made him love Sirius just a little bit more.
“Wait, wait, hang on,” he said as Sirius started pulling his sweatpants on.
“Hey!” Sirius protested when Remus took both the pants and his soft tshirt right out of his hands, winding the towel back around his waist with an awkward hop. “I’m going to get cold!”
“Five minutes!” Remus called over his shoulder as he hurried down the stairs with their clothes. “I promise it’s worth it!”
It would be a drizzly night; grand plans of takeout and a movie ran through his head and he did a small happy dance in the laundry room as he tossed their clothes in the dryer. His dryer. Their dryer. “Mine,” he murmured, running a hand over the top of the machine. It was a wild thought, and one he would have to get used to. He still instinctively checked the clock from time to time before remembering that he would be staying for—
Forever.
The thought came before Remus could really process it and he leaned against the dryer with an unsteady breath. It was only his first real day in the house, and already he was thinking about…that. About staying forever. It wasn’t as scary as he had imagined.
“Mon loup?” Sirius peeked around the doorjamb in confusion, still fiddling with the tucked side of his towel. “What are you doing?”
“It’s a trick that I learned from my mom,” Remus said rather than getting into the specific train of thought that probably left him looking like he had been whacked with a frying pan. “Do you want to do takeout for dinner?”
“I…kind of wanted to get dressed.”
Remus patted his hip as he passed. “Five minutes, baby. Where should we eat?”
“You pick.”
--
Forty minutes later, Remus found himself tucked under the blanket his mother had given him when he went away for college with his boyfriend and a box of takeout Thai food. Their clothes were still warm from the dryer—he would never forget the pure bliss on Sirius’ face when he got dressed and was instantly cocooned in heat—and Sirius’ hair was still half-damp from their shower, curling in little wings over his ears. It felt like worlds colliding. Somehow, Remus was just fine with that.
“Hey,” he said quietly as the exposition continued on screen. Sirius glanced over with his fork halfway to his mouth. “This is perfect.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.” He looked around the living room—their living room—that had seemed so empty the first time he saw it. They could put pictures on the wall by the back door, and one box of his books still laid unopened by the shelves. He could bring out his grandmother’s quilt in the winter. A month from then, two months, ten months. “I’m happy here.”
Sirius’ breath caught for a moment before a hoodie-clad arm slid between Remus’ back and the couch and guided him over to rest his head on Sirius’ chest. His lips were slightly spicy from the curry when he kissed him. “I’m happy when you’re here,” Sirius said, hardly above a whisper. “I miss you when you’re not.”
Remus breathed in the smell of his—their—laundry detergent and felt his heart give a hard thump. “You don’t have to miss me anymore.”
“C’mere.” There was a shuffle as Sirius set both their food boxes on the coffee table and paused the movie, then shifted around so Remus was laying on his chest. He pulled the blanket all the way up to their shoulders and slipped one warm hand up Remus’ shirt to rest on the small of his back; his eyes were bright in the semi-darkness. “Stay with me.”
Remus didn’t hesitate. “Always.”

can we get a fratboy Jimin and good girl oc with pinning from both sides 👀 ahhhh thank u in advance love ur writing!!
Tumblr media
cherry king
drabble week: day four
drabble week masterlist
pairing: fratboy!jimin x goody two-shoes!reader
wordcount: 3k
glimpse: "y-you uhm, you-? y'know, you like... doing that? is that why it's your nickname?"
feedback + support mean the world to me!!
“next!”
great!! the line’s moving :D
that’s only like the 87th time jimin has heard the word next and it makes him wonder how much more would it take him to bring him to the front
(it’s actually only been 14 times and jimin might just be a self-admitted impatient bitch!!!)
he understands that yes, it’s ten in the evening!!! and reasonably-large stores/pharmacies like these can have less staff at the time compared to ten in the morning
sure, checkout machines and cashier lanes could be broken down!! or they could just not be open at all
jimin gets that alright, maybe the self-checkout machines are close at this time of the night because it is ten in the evening
what’s not clicking in his mind, however is that at the exact time that he comes here
as in the EXACT time that he’s here (!!!) — there happens to be dozens of people in a store at ten in the evening, and there happens to be a grand total of one (1) cashier lane
atleast random store music would be entertaining :((( all he hears are the beeps of a scanner and the chatter of groups of people who came here
jimin was eavesdropping on some guys in front of him and he wAS invested but lmao turns they were just discussing the plot of die hard or any testosterone-jacked movie like it
he’s also tried looking at the smaller middle-aged woman’s phone in front of him who’s scrolling through her facebook feed, but quickly decides against continuing it
because what if u could see his face and when she turns it off, she’d see a college guy deeply-invested in the baloney article she was reading about how subway sandwiches are the work of the devil
so uh yeah he’s just looking everywhere besides the front, back, and the sides of him and in all angles basically
he’s,,,,, aimlessly scrolling through his instagram feed he’s already scrolled through tHREE times and his explore’s page a little too dry
it’s a good thing that jimin’s entirely sure he’s the nosiest person out of this line and no one else is trying to figure him out
might be wrong though
“cherry king?”
hold the fuck on
jimin’s eyes widen, head snapping up and clueless to the fact that he doesn’t look discreet at all, and his head-cocking’s the most movement he’s done the whole time in this store
WHO’S SAYING HIS NICKNAME?????
it can’t be a coincidence either because as far as he’s concerned, there isn’t anything named cherry king that’s being sold here
there is literally NO other plausible scenario happening here besides the fact that someone who knows him is in the store!!!!
his gaze falls to the person behind him, brows knitted in confusion until it clicks
oh
that was you?
“jimin? huh, it really is you. i thought i was losing my mind for a second.”
“y/n?”
okay maybe hE’S the one who’s losing his mind here
he knows you!! you’re the smart girl in his year who’s known for being pristine and stuff!! you’re like the good-est girl he’s ever known and heard of
.... quick question lads is that weird to know someone by
“you could’ve just called me by my name, y’know,” jimin chuckles heartily, still a little dumbfounded to see you here but he’s grateful for the interaction nonetheless
you look casual today?? like you still look like yourself but everyone else would think it’s an out-of-body experience to see you out of your pretty dresses and monochromatic get-ups
it’s you..,.. in a hoodie three sizes larger than your size with your pristine shoes traded in for socked-feet wearing slides
jimin thinks that you look like grace under pressure
“i wasn’t sure,” you smile right back and it’s the first time he realizes that there’s glasses atop your nosebridge, softening your image more from the usual composed look you carried
“how were you sure enough to say my nickname out-loud though?”
jimin questions you, bringing light to how he’s wearing a plain white shirt and is looking as relaxed as ever with how he’s dressed — his hair long enough to be put into a messy sprout of a bun
you clear your throat, the amusement bubbling in your scratchy throat
“you have yourself as your lockscreen, jimin.”
oh my gOD
he winces when you say it, eyes screwing shut in embarrassment that he whines in pain with how direct you put it
“n-no way — fuck you respectfully, y/n. i-i’m not- i’m changing it right now!!”
does he look the vainest person alive rn
the way he has a mini freakout entertains you to your core, giggles unable to be suppressed as he finds the latest-taken picture he has of dogs that he comes across with
that’s 10/10 an experience he doesn’t want to repeat again
“it’s okay. i won’t tell anyone.”
he hears you reassure and he believes you, a flustered blush on his cheek still as he coughs to make up for a diversion topic he couldn’t think of
frankly, you’re getting bored too and jimin’s the only form of entertainment you have because using your phone atm would be too disorienting
“what are you doing here, by the way?”
your head tilts in query and he’s relieved that you address something else, not being relieved seconds later when he realizes his answer
“just a little supply run for our frat. we weren’t supposed to run out of things for three more days, so this is just a lil emergency haul for awhile.”
you nod in understanding, glancing down at his basket and uh
uhm 1/4 of the space is literally occupied by boxes of condoms
....
......
jimin’s confused to why you turn silent, thinking that he must’ve gotten boring to continue talking to until he follows your gaze to his basket
NO WAY?!]>|>]%%[%]%]
“i-it’s not l-like that!!!” he crouches and immediately gets the food and the bottles of shampoo and conditioner to bury the condoms in the bottom of the pile, attractively getting more attention from you who’s ready to let it go
“i-it’s not — it’s ours — n-no!! t-they just gave me a list and i just put it because it’s on the list b-but like it wasn’t my-...”
how many more times will the universe fuck jimin up in front of the person he has a lil happy crush on
you only smile meekly, tilting your head and he thinks this is the part where you tell him how much of a douche he is
"y-you uhm, you-? y'know, you like... doing that? is that why it's your nickname?"
:O
“t-that?” jimin clarified albeit confused, thinking back to his nickname as he tries to rapidly connect the dots to not look like a fool
cherry king? that?? what do you-
WAIT WHAT
“nO!! o-of course not!!”
he almost shrieks and his voice sounds ultimately defensive, shaking his head no
why does he look so frantic
“hey, hey, i believe you! — calm down, jimin. you don’t have to explain anything to me.”
whew
fuck
but he argues that it iS the truth though!!!
but why won’t you just ask him why he’s called cherry king though >:(
you’re already content with the silence after the conversation but he isn’t, still wanting more
is it so bad that he wants redemption D:
“how about you? what are you doing here?”
you don’t answer instantly and it’s because you’re nudging jimin to continually walk, the cashier looking much more visible now as he’s nearer in line
he takes a look at the handful of things that’s in your basket —
electrolytes, hot pockets, soup, cup noodles and fever patches...?
“oh. i think i’m running a fever.”
what???
what are you doing here aLONE if you think you’re running a fever???
he’s not gonna lie about the fact that you don’t look too good
what if you pass out and no one’s there for you and all the graveyard shift employees do is put a wet floor sign around your figure???
“y/n?? what are you doing here alone then?? are you oUT of your mind??”
the panic in jimin’s voice is clear as day and you’re a little startled, instead responding to tapping him on the shoulder to point that he’s already the one on the cashier
what he does is grab your basket before he is, putting it in front of the conveyor belt because he couldn’t even wait for it to roll out
“i said i think i’m running a fever.”
jimin stops from simultaneously rummaging for his rewards card and putting his items on the counter to unceremoniously drop the box of condoms down jUST to put his hand on your forehead
“you are.”
you surely don’t think low of jimin but you can’t help be surprised either at his concern for you when this is the only time you’ve had a conversation with him!!!
“you drove here?” he asks in seriousness, sending you a look while waiting for the total amount
“walked. the airconditioning makes me even more sick,” you answer with no fuss because even thinking about car fresheners while you’re sporting a fever makes you want to gag. “let me-...”
jimin already pays for both your items in cash, getting them bagged separately as he’s not gonna take no for an answer for what he’s gonna propose next
“then i’ll keep the windows down. i’ll drive you back to your dorm.”
he grabs both your bags in one hand and uses the other to beckon you over, holding you still because it’s dark out and a fever vision wouldn’t exactly help
it’s only when he straps you in and (true to his word) puts the windows down and starts his car that you start asking
“why are you doing this for me?”
why IS he doing this for you??
jimin thinks about his answer in a second
“would you do the same for me?”
well
if you were in front of him at a godforsaken line, had yourself as your lockscreen, realize that jimin’s behind you with a fever and is by himself in a store at 10 in the evening
“of course i would.”
jimin smiles, steering away from his parking spot
“then i would too.”
( ♡ )
maybe you’re thinking of jimin
no wait you’re dEFINITELY thinking of jimin
you’re much better now and your fever’s already subsided enough for you to go back to class!!!
the whole interaction with him was three days ago and maybe your head is just full of him at this point
“are you sure you’re okay to handle this by yourself??”
jimin worries when he drops your bag to your hands, briefly coming inside your dorm to set it down
“mhmm. i’ll just sleep it out.”
“i think if you’re missing a couple of steps.”
you snort as his paranoid features, waving him off. “i’ll eat. then go to the bathroom. and then sleep.”
okay good enough
“what if this just-“ jimin trails off, his expansive mind suddenly running as he points to your chest, “stops????”
cute
“i have a smart watch.”
“would you put me as one of the emergency contacts? please?”
he’s making you take down his number without malice because jeez he’s gENUINELY worried!!!!
it may not always be great sharing a house with his frat brothers, but he knows that if he has a fever, atleast half of them would dote over him and you have atleast one who would go into hysterics!!! it’e a full package!!
“i’ll be okay, jimin. i’ll call you when i need someone to hand me my puke bucket.”
“please do. i’m not even kidding. get better now because i miss your dresses.”
o_O
uhm
“n-no i meant your usual style!! wait, not that there’s anything wrong w-with your style right now. i-i was-...”
“yeah. i miss them too. now go home, jimin.”
“you sure?”
u never really had the impulse to invite a guy to go inside your place but maybe now you do
“mhmm. drive safe.”
okay
:-)
“good night, y/n. call me whenever.”
classes were a bit rough today because you’re still easing yourself on getting back to the groove of things, but it was tolerable!!!
you’re getting your key out of your backpack when a lock clicks open a couple doors away from you, the hinge noisily squeaking
it’s jimin who leaves it, with seri who’s the actual occupant of the dorm leaning on the doorframe
“y/n—!”
he squeaks the moment his eyes land on you
your hand automatically waves, the same meek smile for him to see
“jimin.”
( ♡ )
the last interaction you had with him is still on jimin’s mind, a whole week later
it’s been bothering him recently that you know what it looks like the last time around!!!! but he could swear up and down that it wasn’t
he just feels this great urge to explain even if you haven’t asked
“oh. so we have to move out for the time-being?”
jimin clarifies with namjoon, the head of the frat, and he’s met with a solemn nod
it makes sense!!!
the house got checked today and there were mULTIPLE fire hazards!!! and it needs to be fumigated anyway under new campus protocol so it indeed makes sense
practically everyone's going home because it’s a long weekend anyway because of a holiday
and he’s not sure if he wants to take the same route.
“hi.”
jimin squeaks the moment you open your door, surprise evident on your face but not shock to the point you’d close the door on him
“jimin?”
okay maybe he’s gonna go straight to explaining
“frat house needed to be closed because of some complications, and it wouldn’t be open to us for another three days. most of the guys are coming home,” jimin clears his throat, his head down while he shyly scratches the back of his ear, “i have one, but i’m not sure if i wanna.”
oh
it’s that problem
it takes one, two seconds before it all registers in your head, nodding surely
“you can take my bed. i’ll take the couch, it’s a pull-out anyways.”
you open the door for him widely and the only thing you ask if he’s had dinner and if he’d like some
god you’re really throwing him in a loop here
it’s after a batch of your cooking that jimin’s only ache is why you were the way that you were, half-dazed the whole time he’s met you properly
“why do you never ask me?”
“hmm?” you hum as you dry the dishes that you’ve used, wanting to get it done as soon as possible so your full attention would be on him
no, actually. jimin WANTS you to pry!!
he wants you to worm your way into his privacy and into the confines of his mind
but it seems like you’ve already did without even asking.
“ask me why i’m called the cherry king.”
you tilt your head in confusion, that time playing in your head of why jimin looked confused when you didn’t continue to ask further
maybe you’ll indulge him
“why are you called the cherry king?”
jimin smiles, leaning to your couch with his arms relaxed
“we did secret santa for christmas at our frat house. taehyung thought it would be nice if he pranked me by gifting me a jar full of cherries, but i thought that was his actual gift, and i liked it to the point that i finished it in one sitting.”
tHAT’S ACTUALLY PRETTY ENDEARING
cute, even
“ask me why i came out of seri’s apartment last week.”
oh that’s.,.,. that’s a bit higher in level compared to nicknames
“why did you come out of seri’s apartment last week?”
“because seri’s the ex-girlfriend of hoseok, my frat brother, and he wanted me to return all her stuff because he doesn’t want to be reminded of his cheating ex.”
well that was definitely weighted
jimin plays with the hem of his shirt, the words tumbling out of his mouth
“ask me why i love you.”
why do you wHAT
your mouth drops open, the new position you took on the other end of the couch taking an impact on him
“w-why do you love me?”
jimin’s a lot of things but he’s not drunk tonight
he doesn’t know why he’s letting his feelings slip either, but it’s the bottomless need that he feels when he’s around you
“i feel wanted. i feel needed.”
he smiles cheerfully even if he feels shy dropping this on you all of a sudden
“not sure if you want me nor need me, but i feel welcome with you if that makes sense.”
:)
“you just make me feel loved, i guess.”
jimin looks at you for the first time since he’s opened his mouth, an equally fond look on your face
you said no words but what jimin receives is a gentle tug, your hand on the side of his face until he’s leaning on your shoulder
“i wanna know what's up there.”
he points a finger to your temple, an amused lilt to his tone, “surprise me.”
it’s an unfolding of things that was weeks in the making but months in developing, the distant glances leading you to recognize jimin in the shop in the first place
“i feel the exact same with you,” you answer honestly and it makes his laugh from his chest, his cheeks warm and his heart content
and you just wanna suspend yourselves in this moment forever
“oh! and if i were to lose my virginity to anyone at the moment, it'd be you!!”
...
....
jimin swats at your shoulder to which you only giggle at, a toothy smile on display as this is the warmest he’s ever felt
“i wasn’t kidding!!!”
you yawn when you defend yourself, predicting that you’d fall asleep sooner or later on the couch, but for the time-being, you just stroke jimin’s hair to soothe the both of you
jimin is now the furthest thing from sleepy
"what? you told me to surprise you!!"

The Miys, Ch. 189
In which we are reminded that Derek is an adult, and is also not all-knowing, no matter how smart he is.
Although he is leaps and bounds smarter than Sophia most of the time. :D
Thanks, as always, to @baelpenrose for being an awesome beta reader and keeping me on track!  Reader shoutout this week goes to (i’m not making this one up) @gayassholeposts who literally just lost their minds on a reblog as I type this up.
I had just flopped on my couch, contemplating if I wanted mock-macaroni and cheese or mock-frozen burritos for dinner, when a proximity alert pinged the door.  Maverick was scheduled for a work shift, and Conor for a community shift, so it had to be Mac: the proximity warning for automatic opening only applied to those three.
Mentally adding a bowl of his special food to my dinner order, I sighed and levered off the furniture before my spine had a chance to override anything else for the night. Sure enough, a soft whoosh sounded behind me as I rounded the counter. “I’ll have it in a minute, greedy guts. Liver flavor, your favorite.”
The loud clap of hands that followed nearly sent me to the floor after I jumped out of my skin. Bracing myself on the counter, I whirled around to see the expected chunky-dunk blob of cat, with a decidedly unexpected chaser of fuzzy blanket and long, dark hands.
“I hate liver.”
“No shit,” I gasped, one hand checking my heartbeat while I focused on breathing. “Derek, you scared the hell out of me.”
“Not my fault you have a built in key for me. Besides, I thought scaring the hell out of someone would be a good thing.”
Standing straight and narrowing my eyes, I scowled as hard as I could. “Not if Alistair finds out that my most recent near-death experience was your fault. I would make you explain it to him.”
“I won’t tell if you won’t,” he confessed. “If I get Mac’s food, can we have macaroni?”
“Don’t give him any, or he’s sleeping with you and Sam.”
Derek shook his head vigorously. “No no no. I can’t have both of them farting all night.” True to his word, when the void floof at his feet mewed plaintively, he shook a finger at him.
Mac was getting liver, and that was it.
One temporary diversion for fluffy pants later, the three of us were nestled deeply into my furniture with our respective bowls of treats. I basked in the peace for exactly three bites before getting back to reality. “Ignoring the fact that your so-called built in key is actually just following my chubby ass cat, anything in particular bring you by? Normally you’re neck-deep in comfort items and chicken nuggets by now.”
He shovelled a couple more bites into his mouth to chew before responding. “Worked from home today. Found some data artifacts that I wanted to show you.”
That launched an eyebrow. “Not Alice or Pranav?”
He just shook his head, and I let the matter rest while we ate for a few more minutes.  Derek was one of the few people who never made me feel even a tiny bit pressured to hold a conversation - especially if food was involved. Yes, I found meals to be social occasions, but sometimes I just wanted to stuff my face in peace, and like Tyche, he was perfectly happy to shovel cheesy pasta into his face using garlic toast and just bask in it.
Once we were both just on the best side of too-full, he leaned back and turned his face toward me. “Something about the artifact made me think you would get the correlation before they would. When they look at code, they think in code. I don’t think you ever think in code.”
I grabbed my ribs as my head flopped against the back of the couch. “Oh, gods. Never. I have a lot of respect for what y’all do, but I cannot imagine doing it full time.”  Taking a couple breaths, I pushed myself upright. “But now I’m curious - If I don’t think in code, how am I supposed to help?”
“You don’t have to think in it to make connections,” he explained cryptically before carefully moving the plant on my flat-console table and unceremoniously shoving the rest to the floor. One flick of his hand, and the code was up where we could both see it. With dizzying speed, he went straight to one section and highlighted part of it. “This is one of them.”
Oooookay. “It’s… a bunch of symbols?”
“It’s gibberish.”  Hands flew as he went to a second section, highlighted again, and pulled the two pieces forward to compare. “They’re also identical gibberish, which isn’t an accident.”
“How many of these do you have?”
“Thousands.” The snap in his hands as he signed told me he was either excited or irritated - I wasn’t sure if it was common to anyone who used sign language, but it was a dead giveaway for Derek.
“All identical?”
“Without exception.”
That was weird.  I didn’t have to understand computer coding to understand that typos don’t tend to be that consistent. “So, yeah, deliberate.  Are you sure it’s an artifact?” I was kind of proud I actually knew what that was - old code left over and hanging loose because no one cared enough to clean it up.
“It has to be. The data it’s connected to is sound.”
I tried not to sigh and pinched my eyes and nose. “Is this the data from the pirates or the data from Pranav?”
“Pranav.  There weren’t any in the data from the pirates, which was the first thing I looked for. But their systems are older and held together on duct tape and faith, so it doesn’t mean much.”
“It means their data, willingly given, didn’t have it…” I chewed on my lip for a few minutes while I scrolled through his examples and followed a few paths. “Okay, I don’t need to be a computer genius to figure out that these aren’t the same pieces of data, which is the only way I can think of that you would get an error like that without a lot of work.  Which would make it not an error.  Updates don’t miss that much stuff without it being the same information or pretty close.”
For one of the few times in our entire acquaintance, Derek actually made a face at me, and he looked so much like Mac that I had to laugh. Ignoring me, he hammered a finger on my shoulder. “How? How did you figure that out?  It took me at least twice as long.”
“Pattern matching,” I waved off. “The patterns are way off, even down to three character sets. You start losing your vision early and end up working with data, you kind of go by shape instead of one to one matching.  Compile this, or whatever, so I can see what it says in some language I can read.”
“Compile? How old are you?”
“Old enough to be your mom. Or grandmother. So be good for Aunt Sophie and… I dunno, do whatever you do to make it actual words.”
He did, but even then, I could only read about a tenth of the parts with the ‘artifact’. “So that did exactly nothing,” I huffed. “Okay, funny guy, you can change it back. Could have warned me.”
“Of course, Aunt Sophie.” Even turning his face away couldn’t hide the smirk.
I pushed on. If Derek need my help with this, it had to be something less technical. “So, it’s clearly deliberate, and something that a lot of effort was put into. And you’re sure it’s not just tags to data we are restricted from accessing on the Ark?”
Hands flying again, over fifty blocks of code were brought forward. “These are just a few examples of restricted information without the artifact.”
“Of course,” I huffed, perching myself back on the couch. Elbows on my knees, chin propped in one hand, I scrolled lazily through the samples tagged with the symbols.  When I found a shorter piece, I enlarged it. “What’s this?”
He didn’t even bother compiling it. Or whatever. “It’s an article on something called a Dalmatian.”
A WHAT!? Launching to my feet, I ended up face-planting halfway through the display. Scurrying, I found another one of the shorter pieces. “This one?”
“Hypertriglyceridemia.”
One… more… “Annnnd, this one?”
“Toxidodendron Radicans.”
I resisted the urge to grab him in my excitement and instead snagged a large pillow to squish and bite before shaking. “Derek! Those are all Terran topics!  This is Terran Data!  It’s about home!”
He held both palms toward me in a ‘Stop’ gesture, shoulders squared to me. For him, this generally meant ‘hold up’. “How sure are you?” he asked after a moment.
“A Dalmatian is a breed of dog, but historically could also refer to people who came from a specific part of Croatia. The last one is the latin name for poison ivy, which I am screamingly allergic to.  If I had to guess - and I’m just guessing - the second one is a medical condition that either stems from or results in high triglycerides, which are something that people generally worried about after age twenty in the Before.” I took a couple deep breaths before flinging a hand at the entire display. “I am willing to bet that everything that has that string of characters attached to it is about Terra, and that’s probably where our updates about home will be.”
Without prompting, he ran as much as he could into text format. “Does any of this look new?”
I scanned it quickly, and recognized enough to know that it wasn’t anything that existed Before. Fingers on both hands started snapping. “What about other languages? If this was never meant for humans to read, maybe we need to feed it through a couple times. Audio, air displacement, the works. Hell, even picture or sculptural format, because if any of these are images, they won’t show up as text anyway.”   Nearly feverish at this point, I reverted the changes and scrolled until I found the mystery line of characters. “This. Start with this.”
“Calm down,” he cautioned before running it through the filters. While we waited, he asked, “Why that part?”
“Because I want to know what it means. Is it an alert, or an alarm? Is it going to make the Eko-Mari turn around and blast us to hell and back? I am reasonably sure Xiomara would agree, we don’t want to know what’s behind the possibly-exploding door until we know if the door will explode.  I need to know - we, the Council, need to know if you should be defragging this behind a Super-Ultra-Faraday cage or not.”
He shrugged, and I paced for the next twenty minutes while it was run through every language translation we had in every possible combination. By the time it sounded off the completion chime, my hair was standing on end and I was lacking several newly-grown nails. Since I was pretty sure I would have screamed if I asked Derek to display the result, I was relieved when he did it without prompting.
And immediately confused when my quarters filled with projected fog.
“What the…” I whispered, waving it away before remembering that it was a light construct. Feeling like some particularly awkward wizard, I started flicking my hands apart to zoom in.  The moment the pattern kicked my brain, I went from short gestures to wide breaststrokes.  Before long, I was zoomed in on one example, the image a meter tall and half a meter wide.
It was a delicate, floating tuft of tendrils.   But even the idea of tendrils seemed too clunky, since even as magnified as it was, they were thinner than my smallest finger and gently waving in the breeze that didn’t exist.  Enlarged so much, I could see cellular function, but no walls and if there was membrane, it was so thin that I couldn’t even imagine the scale.
Derek was immediately enamored. “It looks… soft.”  He tilted his head before advising that there was an audio file, equally enhanced.
“Play it,” I whispered.
I don’t know what I expected, but it was beyond any hope or dream. The audio of the delicate being in front of me sounded like snow falling at night, if the chiming was performed by an angelic choir. Something inside me ached to turn it off, but a larger part ached at the idea of doing so.  Thankfully, the choice was taken from me when Derek’s hands fell slack at his sides, eyes closed, enveloped by the experience.
“Odvub,” I explained, lamely. Hoarsely. “Derek, that’s an Odvub.”

“Unity” and the Broken Boys
BOY Y’ALL BETTER SIT DOWN BECAUSE THIS IS AS LONG AS CAN BE AND I TOOK OFF WORK TOMORROW SO I’VE GOT TIME
This is....one of the best episodes in the show.  Yeah, in all 325 of them, this is hands down one of the best.
First of all, stan Amara for clear skin.
That silent treatment babey, right out the gate with the Angst.  Tbh Dean deserves it.
“Like I said, killing Amara, Jack dying...that’s the only way.”
“The only way.  Our one shot.  Our Last chance.  You ever get tired of saying stuff like that?”
“We don’t have to like it, alright?  But you and me, we gotta get it done.”
Amara is such a welcome energy in this whole episode.  She’s warm and understanding, whip-smart and probably more powerful than Chuck.  I love her.
Sam is a wonderful, understanding, loving dad.  I love him eternally.  He loves Jack so much, he’s trying so desperately to do what’s right for Jack but also what’s right for the world.  Jack made this choice, but he can’t live with it.  How do you support your child when their life is at stake?
“Come on man.  Blindly following orders, lying to Amara, sending her to her death. Does any of this feel right to you??”
“It doesn’t matter how we feel!  You know what?  Stay.  Stay.  Someone has to be the grown up here.”
“Yeah well someone has to keep fighting for Jack!”
“He knows what he signed up for!”
“Last I checked, we don’t give up on family.”
“Jack’s not family.”
Y’all should have heard the noise I made.  What a fucking line.
“I know how you feel about the kid, I care for him too, I do, but he’s not like you.  He’s not like Cas.  He’s just not.”
“I’m- I’m ready.”
You can see the regret, the heartbreak in Dean’s eyes.  You can see how he wants to take those words back the moment he said them, and for Jack to hear them?  It’s unthinkable.
Sam and Cas I’m just so fucking emo dude.
“Sam, you stayed behind to find another way huh?  I woulda done the same.”
AMARA
First of all, LOVE this structure.
Amara and Chuck have such a fascinating dynamic.  Rob and Emily do a great job (as they have all along) by clearly being siblings but...heightened.  You can just tell they both exude power, and the other is the only one they consider an equal.
“You and Dean had that whole weird...thing.”
“That wasn’t you writing?”
“Ugh, not that part.  Gross.”
What I took away from this is what I’ve suspected all along.  They HAVE free will, just not total free will.  Dean and Amara’s connection wasn’t Chuck, there are parts of the story he didn’t write.  Obviously, this comes into play later.
I also have a hunch that Chuck doesn’t write romance.  I also think that in particular will come into play.
“Balance.  Something we’ve never tried before.  Creation and destruction, light and dark, brother and sister united again, but on behalf of one world, this world.  True balance.  The way it was always meant to be.  But you can’t.  You only care about your pleasure, your story.  Well, I guess that makes you the villain.”
“Villains get all the best lines.”
We see again and again this season, Chuck is irredeemable.  He doesn’t care about the angels, he doesn’t care about the world, he doesn’t care about anything.  He is a petulant toddler who has broken his toys. And when he realizes he’s trapped, he gets angry, he shouts and screams, completely at odds with Amara’s peace.
“You can’t hold me here forever.”
“I can hold you long enough.”
DEAN
Pain is the name of the game in this section homies.  Because not only are we dealing with Dean’s pain, we’re also dealing with Jack’s.  Jack says he understands why Cas and Sam mean more to Dean, but Dean clearly doesn’t, he, once again, wants to say more, but is stopped, still stopped by his fear: his fear of not beating Chuck.
Alright guys, gals, and non-binary pals.  Let’s talk about Adam and Seraphina.
Adam.  The first man.  And Seraphina.  The angel.
“My old lady.  She’s the only one who could put up with me all these years.”
Yeah okay.  Volume at 100 I get it lmao.
But also: Adam wants God dead not because he and Eve were kicked out of the Garden, but because he went after their sons.  The theme of protecting the children strikes again.
“Killing God is your plan?”
“Yeah, Billie’s been giving us a hand but Sera and me, this is our baby.”
This juxtaposed directly with Dean’s own pain at what he has to do to kill Chuck, to gain his free will: the cost of his child.
Adam’s rib.
And who else might get his ribs hurt, only to be likely healed by an angel?
Tumblr media
It’s fine, that’s fine.  I’m fine with that.
“Jack, I don’t know how to explain it but, when I found out about Chuck, it’s like I wasn’t alive.  Not really.  You know like my whole life I’ve never been free, but like really free.  But now?  Now me and Sam, we got a shot at living a life, without all this crap on our backs.  And that’s, that’s because of you.  So, I want to say, I need to say...thank you, Jack.  Thank you.”
I’m gonna have to do a separate post about just Dean in this episode, because there is so fucking much to talk about, but there are a couple of things that I think are important:  Dean realizes how wrong he was, to say what he said.  He knows that it’s not true, this is the way he’s always coped with loss, by pushing the person to be lost away, but for Jack to hear it?  He can’t stand for that.
And:
Tumblr media
Dean has finally pushed through the barrier.  He won’t be quiet in the face of his doubts anymore.  This is a breakthrough for him, and, of course, there are more to come.
SAM
Sam and Cas, my chaos duo.
The box, the inscription, the door.
Death’s library, filled with dead reapers.
And there it is.  The Empty.
It tells Sam the plan, the plan for Billie to take God’s place.  For everything to go back to the way it’s “supposed to be.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This has always been the game, since season 13.  This is the longest of long games.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sam fuckin Winchester, lying his way out of a confrontation with the Empty like the legend that he is.
He comes back with a new purpose: to stop Billie’s plan, and here’s where we get to the heart of the episode and maybe the heart of the season.
“You hear that?  Dean, brought to the edge of doubt.  His sense of duty, his rage winning out in the end.  And poor Sam, always gotta know everything.  Can’t leave well enough alone.  This is my ending, my real ending.”
The gun comes out, pointed at Sam.
Hmm...what did I say during 15x05?  Oh yeah, this.
And:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dean would never survive killing Sam, but he’s willing to do anything, anything to earn his freedom.  His ending, where one brother kills the other and then kill himself.
Why, you might ask, did Sam not mention that the angels would be sent back to Heaven, why does he not mention Cas?  I’ll tell you why, or rather, Becky will.
Tumblr media
Plus, Dean looks back at Cas IMMEDIATELY when Sam says that, when he mentions Eileen, and THAT’S the first time he hesitates.  He can’t lose Cas.  But at the same time, he’s willing to do anything to have his freedom.
“Sam we don’t have a choice, Jack’s about to blow!”
“We always have a choice!”
You know me, just sitting here thinking about choice, the ability to choose, and how that translates to their free will.
And Sam...I don’t think there will ever be characters I love as much as these.
“I don’t care if Billie gets what she wants!  I don’t man, I’d trade it all, I’d trade em all for Chuck.  In a heartbeat!”
“What about me?”
“You’d trade me?”
“Chuck has to die.  He has to!  Otherwise he’ll keep us tap dancing forever, and I can’t live like that man, I can’t live like that, I won’t!”
“I know you feel like that right now, okay? I know you do, but you gotta trust me.  My entire life, you’ve protected me.  From Dad, from Lucifer, from everything.  I didn’t always like it, you know?  But it’s the one thing in the whole world that I could always count on.  It’s the only thing I’ve ever known that was true.  So please, put the gun away.  Just put it away.  We’ll figure it out, Dean, we’ll find another way, you and me.  We always do.”
Okay I feel like this is going to be one of those scenes that I cry watching for years to come.  Because fuck.  After fifteen years they finally admit that not only did Dean protect Sam from Lucifer, but he protected him from John.  John.  On a par with Lucifer.
Dean and Sam have, for so many years, sacrificed themselves for the other.  Dean’s demon deal, Sam and the trials, every season they have fought to see who can die the quickest for the other.  But this?  This is them fighting to stop the violence, to stop from killing the big bad.  This is them growing, in our eyes, in real time.  Sam has always been able to get through to Dean when no one else had a prayer, but for Dean to listen, for Dean to take his words to heart, to stop the hunt for Sam, for their family, that’s how you know they do have free will.
(Btw Chuck’s eye effect when he dusted Amara was sick as fuck but I’m emo for my boys so.)
Chuck knows it’s a loss, he knows that his story has, once again, been thwarted by the boys making their own choices.  And he’s pissed, but in his anger, we get a bomb dropped on us.
“Spare me your contempt Castiel, the self-hating angel of Thursday.  You know what every other version of you did after “gripping him tight and raising him from perdition”?  They did what they were told.  But not you.  Not the one off the line with a crack in his chassis.”
Are you fucking kidding me?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, just worth bringing up this one as well:
Tumblr media
Every Castiel pulled Dean out of Hell.  Every one told him the same thing.  And yet, immediately, with this Cas and this Dean, something was different.  Because what has everyone seen about Cas, from the moment he met Dean?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And there’s our endgame people.  Laid out on the line.
But we ain’t done yet, fam.
Tumblr media
We’ve talked about the handprint, but you know:
Tumblr media
So there you have it, our prep into the “monumental” 15x18.  I have spec on that, of course, but I think a novel is long enough for this.
What to take away: Dean’s rage was always Chuck’s plan, they do have free will, their love for each other, for their family, is what will stop Chuck’s control, Death is about to come back with a vengeance, Cas’ deal is at play, and, most importantly, Castiel and Dean Winchester are a blind spot for Chuck, something he has never, not once, controlled.

Seasons of Med: Season 5 & Seasons of PD: Season 7: Necrotizing Fasciitis Scare (A Halstead Brothers + Halstead Sister! Imagine)
Your age: 18
Jay's age: 32
Will's age: 34
"I am going to get you to understand football at this game come hell or high water," Jay told you as you said that you really didn't understand anything about football while Kevin tried to hook up the tv. Kelly threw Jay the football and Jay caught it.
"Hell or high water, huh?" you asked. "Did you just turn southern? Isn't that a southern phrase?"
"I can say whatever I want, thank you were much. Now catch." He threw you the football and you caught it easily.
"Kelly, I can't promise this is gonna be a good throw, so be ready to move," you told him as you threw the football to him. He had to jump to the left and jump high to catch it.
"Y/N, you suck at this," he laughed.
"I know."
"Jay, teach your sister how to throw a football, will you?"
He threw the ball back to Jay.
All of you were currently at Soldier Field to watch the Bears' game on a Friday afternoon. Will was originally going to go with Jay and you were going to study for your biology class, even though it was summer. You had decided to take a summer biology class so then you wouldn't have to deal with it during the fall and winter semesters when you'd be drowning in homework with other classes...and you figured you could do this one in the summer because you had heard horror stories of how hard this specific professor at CCU was. Luckily for you, Will was a doctor and could help you understand those damn diagrams that always gave you trouble.
Anyway, Will was going to come, but he got put on the schedule last minute, so Jay dragged you here even though you didn't know the slightest bit about football. Hell, you didn't even have any Bears gear to wear! Jay had given you one of his hats to wear with the promise that he'd get it back.
"Y/N!" Hailey yelled to you. "Wanna run to Mama Garcia's food truck with me?"
"Yes!" you exclaimed.
"Hailey," Jay whined. "I was just about to teach her how to throw a football."
"Halstead, if she doesn't know yet, I'm sure you can wait a few minutes. Now, I need my Spanish-speaking Halstead to come with me."
You had taken AP Spanish last year and had gotten a good enough grade on the AP exam to give you twelve college credits. This was partly thanks to Mama Garcia. You had been studying in her restaurant one night when you asked her a question about a tense. She explained it and then said that if you ever wanted to practice speaking Spanish and make some money at the same time, that you could work or her under the table. You took her up on that offer and your Spanish improved immensely.
Once you got up to the window of the food truck, you ordered a big batch of tamales in Spanish and then translated how much it was to Hailey. Then, you and Hailey went back to Jay and the rest of all your brother's first responder friends.
Kelly was yelling at Stella, Hailey, and you not to break into the tamales before the burgers were done, but you all didn't listen and each grabbed one out of the box.
You were in the middle of eating yours when you heard a scream.
You went towards the scream along with Jay, Natalie, and Kelly, but Jay made sure you stayed behind him. But, this didn't block your entire view, though.
You looked down at this man's leg. It was red and it looked like there was a giant gash on his shin with puss, blood, and flesh coming out. Things were moving underneath the skin. He was seizing and he kept saying BRT.
It was all too much. You took the Bears hat off.
"Y/N, I need you to get away from this. Whatever this guy has, I don't want you to--"
Jay didn't even finish his sentence before you vomited into that he had let you use, using it as a makeshift bowl for your puke.
He gently grabbed your arm and pulled you to the side after you finished emptying that tamale you had started eating into his hat.
"You done? You good?" Jay asked.
You coughed and then wiped your mouth. "Yeah, yeah. Sorry about your hat. I just- I don't like blood and that was nasty."
"I know. I think everyone's going to Med, so we'll run to the bathroom so we can throw away my hat now and you can rinse out your mouth. I think I have gum in my truck."
"Okay. Be glad I had the smart idea to puke into that hat, though. Or else it probably would've gone on you."
"Yeah, but I lost a nice hat in the process," Jay said as he rolled his eyes and you two made your way towards the bathrooms.
***
"It's necrotizing fasciitis," Will said. Everyone looked at him with a blank expression.
"Flesh-eating bacteria," you supplied.
"Wow, where'd you learn that, Short Stack?" Will asked.
"Can you not call me that? I'm eighteen! And, I learned it by watching Untold Stories of the ER."
"Junior doctor on our hands I think, Jay. And, you're still shorter than me and Jay so I can call you that, thank you very much."
"After her puking just at the sight of that, yeah, no way she's becoming a doctor," Jay said. "Anyway, the victim?"
"Right, sorry. Your victim had necrotizing fasciitis, more commonly known as, as Y/N said, flesh-eating bacteria. And, don't worry, it's not contagious. Only about four in a million people get it each year," Will explained.
"So, how do you get nec..." Kelly trailed off, not knowing the correct pronunciation.
"Necrotizing fasciitis. It enters through a break in the skin and just destroys the tissue under the epidermis. It--"
"The epidermis is the first layer of the skin," you said, reciting something you had learned in your biology class.
"Yes, it's the first layer of skin. But, as I was saying, it would really help us treat this guy if we knew who he was," Will finished after your interruption.
"I can't open a case file without a crime," Jay started, "but I'll see if I can run prints and check traffic cam footage. Maybe make out some sort of ID."
After a few minutes, everyone's panic had died down and you and Kelly were sitting down next to each other. He was trying to explain football to you even though you really couldn't care less. Meanwhile, Jay was about to make a phone call when Will motioned him over.
"Yeah?" Jay asked.
"You or Y/N have any contact with the victim? And, if you did, do you or her have any breaks in the skin?" Will asked, clearly worried about his younger siblings.
"No, we didn't have any contact. Just had Y/N puke in my hat I let her borrow," Jay answered.
"Okay, good. But, as I said, necrotizing fasciitis is rare, so you two should be fine. I gotta get back, but call if you find out anything on the victim."
"Will do. Remember to wear your gloves." Will rolled his eyes. "What? You just said it enters through breaks in the skin."
"You're a real pain in the ass, you know that?"
"One of my many talents."
***
"Hey, I'm leaving," Jay told you around noon the next day, poking his head into your bedroom while you stared at your lab lectures, trying to remember all the diagrams and pictures you'd need to help you identify body parts on your next lab practical.
"Okay, I'm going to the lab around 2:00 to study. That way I can actually see that stuff as I'll see it on the lab practical," you told him, not even looking up from your notes.
"Okay, be safe." He picked up Beary, who was leaning up against a pillow next to you, in a graduation gown and cap outfit. "Beary, can you make sure she takes breaks?" Then, his voice changed into his baby voice, what he always pretended was Beary's voice. "Oh, yes, Jay. I'll make sure she takes breaks while you're gone."
You laughed and reached out and took Beary from him. "Get outta here, you goon."
"Love you, too!" Jay called as he left your room.
You fixed Beary's cap and set him down, remembering when you got the outfit for him as you stared at diagrams.
"You ready, graduate?" Jay asked as he knocked on your door.
"Jay, I swear to God if you call me graduate one more time..." you said as you opened the door.
"You'll what?" he taunted.
"You know what, I don't know, but you won't like it. Are my bobbi pins noticeable?" you asked, referring to the bobbi pins you had pinned down to keep your blue graduation cap in place.
"Nope. You're good. Ready?"
"Ready."
You walked into the kitchen, to be met with Will. And behind him on the kitchen table was a vase of blue and white flowers, which were your school colors, and Beary leaning up against said flowers, wearing a blue graduation cap and gown. Just like you.
You laughed. "I cannot believe you guys."
"Hey," Will started, "Beary got a little backpack on your first day of kindergarten. Only fair that he gets a cap and gown on your graduation."
"Did you use the gift card from Mom?" you asked, referring to the one you had found in the letters to each of you that Will had found when you were cleaning out your dad's house after he died.
"We did," Jay confirmed. "Now, I need you to hold Beary in one hand and hold this picture." He handed you a photo of you with your little backpack on and Beary with his that your mom had taken of you on the front porch on your first day of kindergarten, right before Jay had surprised you by coming home from deployment early.
"Why do I need both?" you asked curiously.
"I saw this thing on Pinterest--"
"Wait!" Will exclaimed. "You have a Pinterest?"
"No," Jay scoffed. "But Hailey does. And she sent me a picture of something she thought you should do for your graduation pictures. You hold up a picture of you on your first day of school when you were little while you're wearing your cap and gown and then I take a picture of you. Since Beary was in that picture, I thought he could be in this one, too."
You grabbed Beary and allowed him to take the pictures. Now it was time to tell the news to your mom and dad.
***
"You won't believe what Will and Jay decided they just needed to get me," you said as you stood in front of your parents' headstone with Beary hidden behind your back. Will and Jay were over by a big tree talking amongst themselves so you could have some privacy. You pulled Beary from behind your back. "They got me a cap and gown for him because they said it was only fair because Beary got a backpack on my first day of school. And, since it's my last day of school, he should get a cap and gown, too.
"Also, which one of you called Will and Jay graduate all day on the day of their graduation? Because Jay won't stop calling me that and it's kinda getting on my nerves. Pretty sure it was you, Mom."
You sighed. "I wish you guys were here. Jay told me all about how you made him a special breakfast when he graduated and then went out for lunch before the actual graduation because the senior all-nighter was after. I don't know where we're going for our senior all-nighter, but I hope it's not boring. I've heard that a few years ago, some kids said theirs was super boring. I really don't want that. But, I'm glad that I could convince Will and Jay not to be chaperones for whatever my senior all-nighter is. I love them and all, but they can be a bit too overprotective at times.
"God, you guys should be here. Dad, I know you weren't the best, but you were trying. And, I'm sure if Mom was here, she'd make sure you behaved, because Mom would say it was a big day and that you couldn't be arguing with Jay." You laughed. "I can only imagine what it would look like with Jay on one side of you, Mom, and Dad on the other and you scolding both of them for fighting. Then, they'd both probably sit back and cross their arms. And, because of this, you'd probably say that I'm your favorite child."
"Alright," Jay laughed as he and Will made their way back to you. "I think it's time to go. We don't want to miss your graduation."
"You know none of us really care about the ceremony, right?" you asked, blinking back tears so that you wouldn't mess up your makeup.
"We know. It's mostly for the parents...or in your case, brothers," Will said.
You pulled out four flowers, two blue and two white, which you had taken from the bouquet that Will had placed on the kitchen table back at home, from the pockets in your dress underneath your graduation gown. "Give me one more minute."
You placed two flowers, one of each color, on top of your Mom's name and your Dad's name on the headstone. "I thought you two should have some, too. They're my school colors." You wiped your eyes as you felt a few tears prick them. "Remember to clap for me from heaven when I walk across that stage, okay?"
You took a deep shaky breath and turned back around. Will wrapped an arm around you as the three of you walked back to Jay's truck. Beary hung from your hand. In three hours, you'll have graduated high school.
You were taken out of your thoughts by your phone ringing. It was the coffee shop you worked at. And, no, it was not the one in your apartment building. But, Jay and other members of Intelligence did sometimes come in there to pick up coffee for them and the rest of the unit. This was only because they knew they'd get the friends and family discount since you worked there. But, they usually tipped you well, so you didn't mind.
Your manager asked you to come into work because someone couldn't come in. As much as you needed to study for your biology lab practical, you needed money for college more. And, you could always go to the lab tomorrow to practice for your lab practical. You also had Will. What good was having a doctor in the family if not to help you with your science homework? So, you decided to pick up the extra shift making coffee.
***
"Voight," Hank Voight said as he answered his phone.
"Hank, it's Wallace Boden. I need you to come down to the CCU science lab right now."
"Why?"
"Because Severide just told me that the victim at Soldier Field yesterday kept chanting BRT. This place is owned by BRT Labs. And, there was a fire set."
"You're thinking arson? You know we don't investigate that, Wallace."
"I know. Office of Fire Investigation is already on it."
"But, you think that the victim yesterday and the fire today could be connected?" Voight asked.
"I think it's highly possible. All I ask is that you come down here, maybe take a look inside, do some interviews, stuff you normally would do."
"Alright. I'll grab Halstead and Upton and we'll head down there."
"Thank you."
Voight hung up his phone and turned to his team, all of whom were knee-deep in paperwork after taking off yesterday to see the Bears game...which they didn't even get to see in the end. "Chief Boden needs some of us down at the CCU lab. There could be a connection--"
"Did you say the CCU lab?" Jay asked, standing up from his chair.
"Yes, Halstead, Upton, you're with me. The rest of you, stay here. We'll let you know if we need you or you need to look up information here." Voight looked to Jay who looked like he'd seen a ghost. "Halstead, we're going."
"Y/N's at the lab."
"It's Saturday," Hailey pointed out. "There's no classes on Saturdays."
"She said she was going there to study for a test. Oh, God. What if--"
"Jay," Hailey said as she walked over and put a hand on his shoulder. "You just need to call or text her on the way there. She'll be okay. C'mon, let's go."
"Atwater, come with me," Voight said. "Just in case Jay's gotta go."
***
You finally took your fifteen-minute break after being swamped for a good half hour straight. Who knew so many people wanted coffee at four in the afternoon? The first thing you saw were seven missed calls and texts in all caps. They were all from Jay.
"What the hell?" you muttered as you pressed Jay's contact and brought your phone to your ear. He picked up on the first ring. "Why are you--"
"Where are you? The firefighters said they haven't seen you come out yet," he rushed out.
"I'm at work. What firefighters? What are you talking about, Jay?" you asked, furrowing your eyebrows together.
"You're at work?" Jay asked. "I thought you were going to school to study?"
"I was. But, then my manager called me in. Why? What happened?"
Jay felt so much relief wash over him that he almost fell over in the grass on the CCU campus. "There was a fire in the lab."
"What? Are my friends okay? Did anyone die?" you rushed out. They weren't totally your friends, more your classmates, but you figured that was the easiest thing to call them.
"As far as I know, there weren't any fatalities."
You breathed a sigh of relief. "Okay, okay, good."
"Just do me a favor: next time your plans change, text me."
"I can't promise I can remember that."
"Figures. But, I gotta go. Stay safe."
***
"Son of a bitch!" Jay yelled and threw his phone on the couch just as you entered your apartment after finishing your closing shift at the coffee shop.
"What?" you asked as you shut the door and then set your keys down and took off your hat.
"Hailey's in quarantine," he told you. "And it's all my fault."
"What? It's your fault? How'd it even happen? Why are people being quarantined?"
"Turns out that necro thing isn't as rare as Will told us."
"Jay, what the hell are you talking about?"
"Uh, there were a bunch of people at an apartment building who got the disease, so Will and others are there looking for a thing that somebody says they saw spraying the building. Could've been this exterminator person was trying to poison people in the building," Jay told you. "And now everyone in the building is quarantined at Med."
"And Hailey was in the apartment building...?" you asked, not knowing what this had to do with Hailey.
"I had her go to a house to talk to someone who was in the lab the same time as the victim. She, uh, the girl Hailey was talking to, fell over and she had the infection and Hailey touched her.
"Hailey had a hangnail or something—at least, that's the info that Will got from Natalie, and Will passed it on to me—so now she's in quarantine at Med. If I wouldn't have told her to go check out the lead, then maybe she wouldn't be in quarantine right now."
"Jay," you started, "you can't blame yourself. If it wasn't Hailey, it would've been you. Then you'd be quarantining at Med right now. And if it wasn't you or Hailey, it would've been someone else from Intelligence and then they'd be in quarantine right now."
"How did you get so mature?"
"Trauma."
Jay's expression immediately changed. "What? Y/N, if you need someone to talk to, I can get you that."
You laughed. "Jay, chill. It's a psych major joke...even though I know I really shouldn't be joking about trauma no matter what."
"Okay, good. Do you want to watch a movie?"
"I mean, I guess. What are we watching? And, I'm gonna make popcorn, too."
"Okay. We can watch anything but Contagion," Jay told you.
"What's Contagion?"
"It's about this virus that breaks out all over a city...much like what's happening now."
"Oooh, now I want to watch it."
"I knew I shouldn't have said anything."
***
"Hello?" you said into the phone the next afternoon when Mama Garcia called you. Jay was out working the case, Will was trying to find a cure for this bacterial strain, and Hailey was out of quarantine because she was cleared by Natalie. So, Jay wasn't blaming himself anymore.
You quickly spoke Spanish with Mama Garcia and she asked if you could come in because they got a huge catering order last minute and she needed someone to man the cash register while she helped in the back making the order. You agreed and made your way to Mama Garcia's.
***
You were busy working the cash register and speaking Spanish with the friendly customers when you started hearing yelling outside, something about MS-13. You excused yourself and made your way to the back where Mama Garcia was working on tamales.
"They're saying something about MS-13 out there," you told her in Spanish.
"I'm going to need you to say that in English, chica," she told you. "I think you said it wrong because you just mentioned MS-13," she said as she wiped her hands on her apron.
"No, they're saying crazy stuff," you began. "They're chanting that you're part of MS-13. You can't hear it?"
"It's loud back here. Maybe I'll hear it if I go to the front."
She came to the front with you where some customers were leaving the building through the side entrance to get away from the mob. There weren't any customers left in the little restaurant anymore.
"Dios mio," she whispered.
There had to have been at least two dozen or more people outside all yelling and saying that she was to blame for the bacteria. Some even held signs. Some had guns or sharp objects.
You pulled out your phone. "I'm calling--"
You stopped when you heard a crash. You barely had time to register what was happening as the Molotov cocktail flew through the window and shattered everywhere, lighting the place on fire and sending shards of glass everywhere, some ending up lodged in your leg as you screamed in fear and pain.
***
The men and women of Firehouse 51 got a call of a public disturbance at Mama Garcia's. As they pulled up, they saw the Molotov cocktail fly right through the front window towards you and Mama Garcia. Casey started barking out orders and everyone sprang into action.
You were inside and the smoke was getting thicker. Whatever they made this out of actually worked. You pulled your shirt up to your nose and mouth to try and stop inhaling it, but it didn't work very well.
You had been in front of Mama Garcia at the time it was thrown through the window, so you took most of the glass shards. This caused you so much pain that it was hard for you to move through the kitchen and to the door to get out.
"Fire department! Call out!" you heard Stella yell as you kept trying to walk toward the back door.
"Here!" you yelled.
"Fire department! Call out!"
"Back here! Help! Help!"
You heard heavy footsteps coming toward you and then you saw a firefighter and you felt a hand wrap around you.
"Hang on. You're gonna get out of here." Stella. "Casey," she said into her radio. "I need some help in here. Female victim, trouble walking, in the back in what looks like the kitchen."
"Copy. Coming in, Kidd."
About thirty seconds later you were picked up and told to close your eyes. You did, and it was only when you finally got outside, did Truck 81 realize who they had rescued.
***
Will was currently working in the lab trying to find an antidote to this terrible outbreak. But, something about Dr. Seldon was suspicious. He wasn't a detective like his younger brother,  but he still trusted his gut.
Dr. Seldon hadn't noticed that Will was still in the lab when he started pouring chemicals into the samples. Now Will knew something was most definitely wrong.
"What are you doing?" he asked loudly, startling Dr. Seldon.
"Oh, these are contaminated samples," he answered easily like he had rehearsed what he was going to say.
Will pointed directly at him. "No. You know what? You need to stay right here."
Then, Seldon threw a punch and Will caught it easily. But, then Seldon hit him again in the stomach. In the split second that Will was doubled over, Seldon picked up a microscope and cold-cocked Will right over the head, causing him to fall to the ground as everything went black and he clutched his bleeding head.
***
Hailey was now back in the bullpen after being quarantined because she got checked out and everything was fine. She had to tell Jay to stop apologizing and that it wasn't his fault he had gotten into that mess.
"That's a blue hat, right before 2:00," Ruzek said as he looked at the security footage.
"Wait, I know this guy," Jay started. "He works at the CCU lab." His eyes widened as he realized what was going on. "He's with Will. We gotta go now!"
As Jay was sprinting out of the bullpen, his phone started ringing.
"Man, your phone!" Adam yelled.
"Just let it go to voice-mail!" Jay yelled as he ran down the stairs, not knowing that it was Casey calling him to let him know that they had pulled you out of a fire and you were currently being treated at Med.
***
You rubbed your eyes as you woke up a few hours later. You didn't know if it was the meds the nurse gave you to knock you out so she could pull the shards of glass out of your body or if it was from a combination of smoke inhalation and tiredness. Whatever the reason, you were awake now.
You turned to see your brothers and were very confused to see that Will was holding an ice pack to his head and Jay looked like he had gotten new stitches in his forearm.
"The hell--" You roughly cleared your throat. "The hell happened to you two?"
"We found the guy," Jay told you. "But, not before he cold-cocked Will over the head with a microscope."
"Who was he?" you asked.
"A professor at CCU. Dr. Seldon."
"I've heard of him. I think he only teaches graduate classes though, so I'd never end up being in one of his classes anyway. I'm assuming he's not teaching anymore?"
"Not a chance in hell," Jay confirmed. "If he wants to teach, he can teach all the other prisoners at Stateville."
"What happened to your arm?"
"Oh, you know him," Will began. "He's always putting other people's safety in front of his own like the idiot he is." Jay thought about smacking his older brother upside the head but decided against it only because he had just been hit in the head. "He decided that he'd rather be infected with the bacteria instead of the people in a conference room where Seldon was. So, he cut himself."
"You what? Do you have the bacteria?" you asked as your eyes widened in fear.
"No, I don't. Hailey shot in there to distract him and then I disarmed him. Will came in with the antidote anyway, but luckily we didn't need to use it."
"If Hailey got paid overtime every time she saved your ass, she'd never have to work again."
"Tell me about it," Jay agreed.
"Now, what happened to you?" Will asked. "Casey told us you were at Mama Garcia's?"
"Yeah, she called and asked me to run the front since she needed to be in the back to help work on a catering order. I went in and an hour later, there were all these protesters outside calling her a member of MS-13 and saying she started the outbreak."
"How?" Jay wondered. "Mama Garcia's like the sweetest lady alive."
"I don't know. Because people online are crazy? And then someone threw a flaming bottle of something through the window."
"And that's how the glass got in your leg?" Will asked. You nodded. "Well, the good news is that Maggie told me the damage was artificial. The reason you passed out was because of smoke inhalation. They gave you some oxygen and you're good to go once you're ready."
"Then why don't I have one of those nose thingies in?" you asked.
"A nasal cannula?" Will chuckled. You nodded. "It's because you slept long enough with it on that your oxygen is back up. And, the paramedics gave you oxygen, too. That's why you don't need it. Your levels are back to normal."
"Oh. Okay."
"You want your discharge paperwork?" Will asked.
"Yeah, Jay's gotta fill it out."
"Nope. You are not a minor anymore. So, you get to fill out your own paperwork."
You groaned as he handed you the clipboard with the paperwork on it. Now you knew why both Jay and Will hated paperwork so much. There was so much even for one little thing!
"You know, I think since you've achieved frequent flyer status at Med," Will began, "that Beary needs a hospital gown, too."
"No! Don't you dare!"
"Just write it down and give it to her for Christmas," Jay joked. But honestly, when it came to that bear and presents, you never knew if either of them was joking or not.
Everything seemed back to normal at that moment: Jay and Will joking about your Build-A-Bear, you and Jay constantly being in the hospital for whatever reason and life. Life was back to normal after this crazy weekend that had everyone in Chicago on edge and you couldn't be happier.
A/N: Idk how I feel about this one. There was so much going on in that crossover, that it was hard for me to figure out what I wanted to focus on...so, it turned into a shorter imagine. Anyway, thank you guys so, so much for reading! I also start my new job tomorrow, so updates might be a little less frequent (one or two a week, depending on how long the imagines are and how much I have to work). Anyway, please like/reblog and comment and tell me what you think! As always, if you want to be added to my taglist, just tell me and I’ll add you!

It’s been a very long day.
Gibbs sat next to a crying baby on the bus riding into DC, the hotel receptionist gave him a hard time when he tried to check in, and he was forced into the trunk of a car with a gun pointed to his head.
“He forced you, Marine?”
Gibbs withheld an annoyed sigh; only because this agent was pretty alright. “There were civilians around. Didn’t want to risk it.”
“Noble,” the agent responds. “But a gamble.”
Yeah. A gamble that only sorta paid off because Gibbs knows you’ll give him an earful just as soon as you get here.
“If it wasn’t for that idiot driving on the wrong side of the road, you might be the one in our morgue.”
God, Gibbs hopes he doesn’t say that when you’re around.
In the distance, he hears the elevator ding. And the agent motions toward it. “Now, you got a chance to say thank you. Looks like he’s back from the hospital to give his statement.”
Gibbs turns, spotting the man in a bowtie with his arm in a sling and talking the ear off of the women who brought him up here. The Scotsman was ranting off about American driving habits, no doubt blaming it all on why he crashed. Hearing it makes Gibbs smirk.
“Mr. Mallard,” the agent greets.
“Actually, Dr. Mallard. Well, former doctor,” he corrects.
Without any hesitation. Jethro likes him already. “Sergeant Gibbs. Former trunk.”
That’s when Dr. Mallard finally looks to him, paying little attention to the scrapes on his face. “Ah,” he replies. Gibbs can’t help to notice he looks just a little amused.
“I owe you a drink,” Jethro says.
“Well, that depends,” Mallard intercedes immediately. “How do you feel about scotch?”
“I’d feel better about bourbon.”
“Sold.”
Smiling, Gibbs reaches forward to shake the other man’s hand. They reflect each other’s expression - Dr. Mallard pleased for a free drink, and Gibbs just happy to be out of that trunk. “It’s the least I could do, considering your car was probably totaled-”
“Jethro!”
Oh no. Gibbs and his rotten luck was about to rub off on you.
He hadn’t even prepared anything to say. Hadn’t thought of a special way to ease your worries because Gibbs has been too caught up with the NIS agent and giving his statement. So when he looks over Mallard’s shoulder, watching as you march up to him with wide eyes, Gibbs visibly winces. “Hey. First of all, I’m okay. Second-”
“How could you possibly be okay?” Your eyes were immediately focused on the red scrape on his forehead - right now, he figures you’re expecting the worst. “This is serious, Jethro. How do you think I would’ve felt if I got a call saying you were dead? I know you like to think you’re big and bad, but-”
“Have you met Dr. Mallard?” Gibbs immediately turns your attention to the Scotsman in the bowtie, who immediately greets you with a tight smile once you face him. “He’s the one who saved me. Kind of.”
“Only by sheer stupidity, believe me.” Mallard reaches out a hand, and after a moment, you take his. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
You let out a tiny sigh, seeming to Gibbs like you were winding down, now that you’re sure he was okay. “Thank you, Doctor. As you can tell,” you snap your eyes to Jethro, “he gets himself into trouble, a lot.”
Gibbs says nothing, now that the eyes of four different people are on him. He shifts his weight awkwardly, reaching out to grip your arm and pull you closer. And to really suck up to you, he leans over to press a kiss against your temple - he hopes that’ll be enough of an ‘I’m sorry’ for now. “Well, the Doctor’s gotta give his statement so I think we outta let him,” Gibbs says, hoping to turn the attention off of himself.
“Yes, of course,” Dr. Mallard agrees. Gibbs is grateful - up until Mallard faces you again with a smile. “Though, you should most definitely join us for a drink. It’ll be on his tab, and you’ll be there to keep him out of trouble.”
For a moment, Gibbs feels almost defensive. He’s about to speak up, but before he can say anything, he sees you nod your head. Even worse, you’re smiling. As if agreeing with Mallard that Jethro needs watching over.
Though, you’re smiling now. Maybe it’s not so bad.
-
It’s late. And the coffee doesn’t seem to be working anymore.
Gibbs had training for staying up all night. There’s been times when he’d gone three days with only a couple hours of sleep. But even that would’ve been preferable to sitting at a table, staring at files and papers, and listening to Dr. Mallard’s mumbling.
“It doesn’t make any sense...we’ve got to be missing something...”
Yeah. No kidding.
Gibbs rubs his eyes with a long sigh. He’s tempted to just call it a night and try again in the morning when he and Mallard are rested up. But Jethro stays - much too stubborn to walk away, even if it’s past midnight.
He has his chin propped up on his hand, fighting the alluring close of his eyes, by the time Jethro hears the front door close and your footsteps against the wood floor. “You guys are still awake?”
“Yeah,” Gibbs mumbles.
“We’re nearly finished,” Dr. Mallard says - he’s slightly more awake, but not by much.
“Right,” you reply. Jethro recognizes the disbelief in your voice. It’s the same tone you use with him a lot. “Well, are you two hungry?”
Coffee is the only sustenance he’s had all night. At the mention of food, Jethro looks over. And a grease-stained paper bag has never looked so amazing. “Is that…”
“Just some burgers from a diner. Not many places are open this late, so it was a bit of a drive.” You approach with the food, and Jethro stands to take the bag from your hands. And you’re smiling at him - looking tired, but still so sweet and soft and it immediately relieves the ache of exhaustion from Gibbs.
You drove all around town to bring him and Mallard some food. He didn’t deserve you.
“You didn’t have to,” Jethro says. Though, he handles the burgers like an injured puppy. “We got stuff here…”
“Don’t be ridiculous, man.” Dr. Mallard stands as well, taking the bag from Jethro and opening it up to retrieve his burger. “It’s not right to downplay the generosity of your partner. Try thanking her.”
Gibbs narrows his eyes at the other man, but his hunger wears down his stubbornness. The burgers smell fucking amazing, and Dr. Mallard is right.
He looks back to you, steps in closer, and leans down to press a kiss to your cheek. Your skin is cold from the night air - Gibbs feels bad that you went through the trouble. “Thanks. We appreciate it,” he says lowly. If Mallard weren’t here, Gibbs might’ve dragged you to bed. Warmed you up and thanked you in his own favorite way.
He notices your flush. Maybe you picked up on his own personal thoughts, somehow.
So Gibbs looks away, reaching out to retrieve his own burger before the doctor notices anything. And you clear your throat, smiling at the both of them while backing up. “Well, enjoy the food. I think I’m gonna go get some sleep. Try not to stay up all night, you two!”
A smirk comes over Jethro’s lips as he falls back down into his chair, and he doesn’t notice Mallard watching him until Gibbs is just about to take a big bite out of his burger. His teeth are on the bun when his eyes flicker up. “Wha’?” He asks hotly.
Dr. Mallard simply shakes his head, taking his seat and moving his files aside to make room for the burger you brought him. “Nothing. It’s just that...she’s a keeper.”
Jethro didn’t need some Scot to tell him that.
-
“Keep looking out here! I’ll check inside!”
Jethro didn’t bother yelling out an acknowledgement. He took off in the other direction, letting Dr. Mallard make his way into the dark, silent building by himself. Maybe if his heart weren’t pounding so fast or if he weren’t so fucking angry and scared and worried, Gibbs would be smart and think about Mallard’s safety.
After all, if these scumbags had the balls to take you, what’s to stop them from killing him?
Jethro doesn’t think about that, right now. His shoes pound against the pavement, swinging his flashlight around wildly. The parking lot is empty and pitch black - the shine of the flashlight barely does anything to cut through the darkness. He tries to stem his breathing and silence his heartbeat; just in case you’re crying out for him.
He hears nothing. The taunting hoot of an owl, but that’s it.
This is his fault, of course. Everything is his fault. Maybe if he just left the case alone and let those agents deal with it, you wouldn’t be missing and he wouldn’t be running around trying to find you. Dr. Mallard tried calming him down and reminding him that they’re trying to get these bastards off the streets for this very reason.
Doesn’t seem worth it, though. Not when it comes to you.
Jethro takes a few more steps, panting hard, still straining his eyes against the blackness. His grip on the flashlight is so tight, his fingers start to hurt. Maybe you’re not even here. Maybe they got it wrong. Maybe they missed something-
There. On the far end of the parking lot. Something reflects the light of his flashlight, and it’s too big to be anything but a vehicle.
Immediately, Gibbs takes off again. His shoes barely hit the concrete with how fast he’s running, and when he finally reaches the car, he shines the light inside. Finding empty seats, Jethro’s stomach drops.
That is, until his eyes find the trunk.
Jethro calls your name as he comes around to the hitch. His breath is stuck in his lungs, and he barely even registers the light tapping from inside the trunk before he yanks it up.
You flinch at the sudden bright light. Hands coming up to shield your face, balling yourself up tighter. Gibbs immediately notices little red lines around your wrists. Notices the little tears and scuffs on your clothes. He shakes with something mixed with rage and relief.
“Hey, hey, you’re okay,” Jethro breathes out. He tucks the flashlight under his arm to reach out for you. His hand on your arm seems to calm you - it lets you know that you’re safe and he’s got you and everything is okay now. You peek out from behind your eyes, cheeks wet from tears but they’re not wet enough to loosen the tape strapped to your mouth.
Jethro reaches out instantly to pull it off. He’s slow, gentle, and as soon as your lips are visible, you suck in a deep breath. “Jethro…”
“I’m here. You’re okay now.”
He tries his best to hide the tremor of his hands as Gibbs takes his knife out and cuts the rope off your wrists and ankles. These bastards really went all the way - taking you and terrorizing you just to get to him and Mallard. He’d make sure they paid.
As soon as you’re freed, your arms are wrapped tight around his shoulders, face pushed against his chest and sniffling. The flashlight is obscured, but Jethro doesn’t need to see the harsh tears staining your cheeks. It’s bad enough to hear your little whimpers of his name, and the most he can do is hug you back and murmur out comforting words.
Eventually, you pull away. Still leaning on him, not even pulling yourself out of the trunk yet, but wanting to see his face. “It happened so fast,” you tell him, voice small. Jethro frowns as he fits his hand against your cheek - there’s a bruise there that concerns him. “And they were saying how you and Dr. Mallard were getting so close, and I was insurance, and I didn’t know if you’d find me, and-”
“Hey, I’ll always find you, okay?” His thumb caresses over your cheek, mindful of the purple bump there. “I’m sorry. This is my fault. You shouldn’t have gotten caught up in this. I should’ve protected you better.”
Your eyes are wide and frightened, but the way your eyebrows quirk together slightly tells him that you probably had something to say. Probably to negate what he’s said because he knows you don’t like when he says things like that. Blaming himself for things he can’t control.
Instead, Jethro leans in to desperately press his lips against yours. The kiss tastes like salty tears and a hint of blood but you hold onto his jacket so tight that he doesn’t even think about if the kiss might hurt.
He was worried. You were scared. He just wants to kiss you.
And even the sound of Dr. Mallard calling his name from across the parking lot isn’t enough to break it.
-
“She’s fine, right? That’s what the doctors said?”
“That’s what I said,” Mallard tells him, voice tight. But there’s an empathetic look that helps calm Gibbs down a bit. “I assure you, I wouldn’t lie about her condition. I checked her over myself - the worst of it is only the rope burns on her wrists.”
Gibbs breathes a little easier. It’s been a wild couple days and it feels like the first deep breath he’s taken since.
“I assume you’d want to see her.”
Jethro nods his head once, brow furrowing together. He’d done enough waiting.
Dr. Mallard smirks before he turns and walks with Gibbs down to your room. He knows it’ll be hard, seeing you laid up in the white hospital sheets. It was hard enough pulling you from the trunk of the car and sitting with you until the ambulance came. Hard enough having to put you on the back burner to finish what he and Mallard started. The guilt was still there, of course. He knows you don’t blame him, but it’s not enough.
Gibbs feels a nudge against his arm, and he looks over to find Dr. Mallard watching him. “You should be happy,” he points out.
“I am.”
“I hope you’ll be a better liar once we get in there.” Gibbs scoffs and looks away, but the doctor isn’t done. “You’re fortunate it wasn’t any worse. With the men we were dealing with-”
“Yeah, I know, doc. They coulda killed her, or worse. And it would’ve been my fault because I wasn’t smart enough to think ahead and protect her.” Jethro turns back to Mallard, and he doesn’t bother to hide his scowl. “Is that what you want to hear?”
“Yes. It is,” he replies boldly. Fucking of course. Gibbs is tempted to walk off before Mallard's gaze turns more sympathetic. “But that’s not what she wants to hear. So better to get it all out right now so you can’t dump all those guilty feelings on someone who’s already been through enough.”
He hadn’t thought of it that way.
Jethro’s eyes drop. Mallard was right, of course. It pissed him off to admit it, but Gibbs probably would’ve gone in there and apologized for something you didn’t really want to relive. Another case of him not thinking.
Dr. Mallard pats him on the shoulder. When Gibbs looks up, he motions to your room with his head. “Well, let’s get a move on. I’m sure she’ll be happy to see you.”
And Jethro will be glad to see you, too.
He wastes no time reaching your door, and he carefully opens it but can’t help poking his head in just as soon as he can. Gibbs doesn’t quite know what to expect, and even with Mallard peeking in from over his shoulder, he feels like he should be walking on his toes.
But the image of you sitting up in bed with a smile proves him wrong.
“Hey! You’re here!”
Jethro doesn’t reply. He just smirks and revels in his relief that you’re actually okay.
“Of course, we are!” Mallard replies, moving past Gibbs to approach your bedside. “We wanted to tell our partner about the outcome of our little investigation, didn’t we, Gibbs?”
Jethro’s eyes move away from your bruised face, glancing to the doctor before nodding once. “Yeah. Bastards got caught trying to leave the state. They got ‘em at the border,” he tells you. Though, he can’t keep his eyes from wandering. Your arms, once so soft, are marred with bandages and bruises. Jethro reminds himself to breathe.
“But obviously, we were also worried about you,” Dr. Mallard adds on. His tone is softer, this time. And as Gibbs moves past him to take the seat by your bed, he continues. “You’ve got nothing to fear. They can’t ever hurt you again.”
Jethro reaches out to take your hand, and you squeeze his right back. Dammit, Mallard was so good with that heart-to-heart stuff. It never really occurred to Gibbs to put your mind at ease, like he had. He’d just been so angry and guilty and worried - well, it goes to show how much more you deserve than him.
“Yeah, I know.” Your voice is light. A little hoarse. The sound of it makes Jethro tighten his grip.
“He’s right,” Gibbs speaks up. And when you turn to look at him, he makes sure his face is hard and determined. Not as shaky as he feels. “I’m never gonna let something like that happen again. I promise.”
“Yeah,” you respond. “I know.”
Your smile grows. Just a little, because of the bruises. But it prompts one on Jethro’s face, and as his chest gets a bit tight, he softly lifts your hand up. The bandages cover up the ugly rope burns around both your wrists - they’ll go away in a few weeks. Still, he places a soft kiss on top the bandage. Just to help you heal a little faster.
-
If it were up to Gibbs, he would’ve taken you right home and let you rest. And personally, after all the bullshit, he really just wanted a quiet night with you and a couple glasses of bourbon. And no Dr. Mallard.
Things never usually go as planned for him. A night at the bar is in order to celebrate.
Though, Jethro can’t complain much. You’re seated on his lap, and he’s free to wrap his arms around your waist and tug you close and glare at anyone giving you a second look. Call him protective, but he’s just being safe.
And he let you and Mallard chat away about the case. Mostly about how the NIS agents took all the credit for bringing them in.
“It’s unfair,” you say crossly, glancing back at Jethro before looking to the doctor again. “Do they know how much danger you guys put yourselves in? Or what I went through? And they get the credit?”
Jethro’s grip on your waist tightens. He smirks when he feels your hand settle on his arm.
“It’s not really about the credit,” Mallard replies, leaning back in his chair with a shrug. “For me, I’m just happy those bastards won’t be out terrorizing any more innocent people. I looked into some of their victims - poor unfortunate souls who wouldn’t have been missed by anybody. No friends. No family. It’s a real shame.”
The table grows quiet, even as the bar ambience around them is still as loud as ever. You end up leaning back against Jethro; likely needing his comfort.
And he readily gives it. Because you so easily could’ve been one of those victims. Not unknown without friends or family, like the others. But still gone. Still ripped from Jethro’s arms.
“Would’ve missed you,” he finds himself mumbling.
Gibbs didn’t intend for you to hear. He was counting on Dr. Mallard keeping your attention. But it seems like the music and the chatter wasn’t enough to keep his mindless words from your ears. Because as soon as he presses a light kiss against the ball of your shoulder, you’re twisting your head around to smile at him.
His eyes immediately dart away, because he knows the kind of smile you’re wearing.
“Have a little too much to drink, Jethro? You’re getting all affectionate.”
“Yes,” Mallard speaks up, happy to change the subject. “I think he’s gone on to his third glass of scotch!”
-
It’s one o’clock in the morning. Gibbs kept checking the time.
He wouldn’t say anything about it, though. Not when you were having fun and relaxing after that whole ordeal.
Still, Jethro couldn’t help a little sigh when he finally stepped out of the bar. He holds the door open for you and Ducky - a nickname you’ve given the Scot that took the hold of liquor to stick.
“Well, that was a jolly time. Been a while since I’ve had a sip with companions I could tolerate a conversation with. I’ve found there’s very few people in America who want to sit down for a drink in a pub…”
“Bar,” Jethro says. He hears your soft snort of laughter from behind.
“Bar,” Ducky repeats with a smile only a drunk man would wear. It brings to mind when the doctor had been teasing Gibbs about drinking too much. And just as he goes to sit down on the curb of the street, you’re right there to help him down. Preventing the intoxicated doctor from falling straight on his ass and patting his shoulder once he’s leaning against a stop sign.
Jethro smirks at the sight, shaking his head lightly as he approaches the street to flag down a taxi. Yeah, it was late. It’s been a trying couple of days. But he can’t admit that he didn’t have a little fun. Ducky attempting to teach you some Scottish drinking songs was surely a highlight.
His hand waves up at an oncoming taxi, and thankfully, it notices him and veers over. “Alright, doc. Time to get you home. You know the address of your hotel?”
Gibbs comes over to help you pull Ducky back up, but the other man just regards him with a huff and a frown. “Of course I do, Marine. I’ve got a very good memory, you know. Like a Bottlenose Dolphin. Do you know it’s theorized that dolphins have an even longer memory than elephants?” Ducky stumbles a little over his own feet, almost falling into the street in front of the taxi. But Jethro catches him before he can fall. “Imagine that: a whole metaphor undone because of a single study…”
“That’s very interesting, Ducky,” you tell him lightly, a giggle edging your voice.
Jethro pulls the door open, intent on helping Mallard in so you don’t strain yourself doing it. But the doctor puts a hand on the roof of the cab, balancing himself so he can turn to face you. He’s reflecting your easy smile, and Jethro can’t help but narrow his eyes as he watches the doctor lean over to take hold of your hand.
Is Mallard some kind of drunken flirt? Gibbs fixes his jaw.
“You’re a very charming person, and I do look forward to working with you again. I pray it’s sooner rather than later,” Ducky says. And with no hesitation, he presses a chaste kiss against your knuckles - still a bit tender, but you don’t look as if it bothers you.
Which is why Jethro is tempted to just shove Mallard into the taxi and send him on his way.
Granted, the kiss was brief. He releases your hand and turns to Gibbs, whom he gives a brief nod to. “Same to you, Marine.” And with that, Dr. Mallard ungraciously climbs into the backseat of the taxi, and Gibbs can tell he’ll be chatting the driver’s ear off the whole way. His voice fades as the car drives off.
“That was fun.”
Immediately, Jethro’s eyes leave the cab to look at you. “The drinking, or that kiss?” He asks maybe a bit too sternly.
Your eyes go wide in surprise, lips slowly quirking upward as you gaze up at him without a word. And Jethro winces inwardly at the can of worms he likely opened without even meaning to. He turns away, intent to find another cab for the two of them. But youre not ready to drop it. “Well, I don’t know. Which did you enjoy the most?”
“Geez,” he mumbles. “Ya know, we should’ve just stayed home. You’re really in no condition to be out and about.”
You don’t reply. Instead, your arms appear right around his waist, closing tight and leaning up against his back. He’s thankful for the position, at least, so you couldn’t see the smirk on his lips. And when Jethro places his hand on your arm, he’s careful to avoid the bandages. He wants to touch your skin, anyway.
“Y’know, Jethro, if you wanna kiss me, you don’t have to wait until after Ducky does it.”

If any of you have ever had a conversation with me and you read this fic, no you didn't
...........................................
"What are you two doing tomorrow?" Julie asked you.
You rolled into your stomach and propped your head up in your hands. “I’m not sure, but I know what we're doing next weekend, unfortunately.”
That peaked Julie’s interest, you weren’t usually much of a complainer. “Why unfortunately?” she questioned.
“Because I'm going on the Ski trip with him,” you whined. You wanted to spend time with Luke, you just didn't wanna go on the trip.
“Oh my god, you get to go?” she excitedly asked.
“Not helping,” you commented.
Julie smirked. “Sorry not sorry, I’ve been trying to get you to go for the past two years. And the first year, I couldn’t even go,” she pointed out.
“Yeah, so why would I have gone if you and Flynn weren’t even gonna be there?” you asked. As if on cue, Flynn walked down the stairs.
“Heard you guys were talking about me, all good things I hope?” she spoke as she walked down the stairs.
“Always,” you said, somewhat sarcastically.
She motioned for you to scoot over so she could have some space on the couch.
“So, if we’re done talking about me, did I hear someone say something about the ski trip?” Flynn questioned.
Before you could open your mouth Julie was already telling Flynn about how you were coming on the trip.
“You are?” Flynn squealed.
You tried to not get excited from their joy, but it was impossible; they were contagious.
You shyly smiled. “Yes, I’m going.”
“Yayyy!” Flynn yelled. The girl was practically jumping up and down.
“Oh who are you sharing a room with?” Flynn asked.
“Luke and I are,” you answered.
The girls exchanged a look you knew all too well.
“Shut up!” You covered your face with a pillow.
“We didn’t say anything!” they protested in almost complete unison.
You could feel your cheeks burning up. “Yeah, but you thought it,” you argued.
“Well whether we thought it or said it, you’re sharing a room with your boyyyyyyyfriend,” Flynn sang.
“If you guys start sing teasing me, I will leave,” you threatened.
“Don’t you need us to pick out your outfits?” Julie remembered.
“Oh, shit, yeah.”
“So in other words you have no leverage?” Flynn realized.
“I’m your ride home,” you reminded her.
“Outfits it is, but do not think we will be forgetting about this!” Flynn cried as she walked up to your bedroom.
“Whatever Flynn!” you yelled back.
“She’s right you know,” Julie slyly commented.
You just huffed in response.
The two of them did a very good job at helping maximize your california wardrobe for the mountains. Granted you had to go buy a couple things in advance, but overall, you felt confident that you could bear the cold of the mountains.
“Alright, I think you’ll survive,” Flynn proclaimed.
You closed your suitcase, and surprisingly you didn’t even have to sit on it.
“Thank you guys, I really appreciate it.”
“No problem, it was our pleasure, especially since you’re actually coming this year,” Julie said.
You dropped them both back off their houses and they were nice enough to spare you from embarrassing you in the car ride.
...........
You heard someone creeping up behind you as you grabbed your stuff to head to your second class, and as you felt arms wrap around your waist you knew it was Luke.
You turned to face him. “So I was thinking if we get one of the window rooms then we can see the snow when it falls,” he proposed.
Your face lit up. “Wait, it’s gonna snow when we’re up there?” you excitedly asked.
He happily watched your beaming face “I mean that’s what the weather said.”
“Oh my god! I haven’t seen snow since-” you paused, “actually I don’t remember, but it’s been awhile.”
“Well there’s a good chance that’s gonna happen,” he said.
“You know you’re actually required to show up to school for them to allow you to come right?” you teased. Though originally it had been a legitimate concern.
He licked his lips. “I’ve been coming everyday so I could come on this trip,” he defended himself.
“Coming to school and staying in school are two very different things Patterson,” you playfully reminded him.
He leaned in closer and his voice got quieter. “And what’s that?”
You resisted the urge to swallow and pulled away from him. “One is what I’m doing right now, because I need to go to class.”
He pulled his lips tightly before sighing. “You got me there,” he admitted.
“I always do,” you said, as you started walking off. You turned around to see him still standing there, you would be lying if you said it didn’t bring you joy.
“Go to class Luke!” you yelled back at him.
“You got it!” he saluted you and walked the other way.
You playfully rolled your eyes. That boy would be the death of you, but you supposed there were worse ways to go.
That Friday you didn’t have any school since the school board figured it was pointless to send a bunch of kids to school the day before they went on a ski trip. There wasn’t going to be any actual learning anyway. You usually would’ve spent some of the day at Julie’s; which you did, but today it wasn’t in the studio for practice. You figured since she had helped you pack, you could at least keep her company as she packed.
“So who are you sharing a room with?” you asked her, as she sorted through her jeans.
“Me and Flynn just figured we’d share one,” Julie said offhandedly.
You chose to not comment on how she was obviously forcing herself to be casual.
“Ah I see, do you know if Alex and Reg are coming?”
“Yeah, and get this Alex and Willie are sharing a room,” she gossiped.
“I’m calling it right now, they're gonna start dating by the end of the weekend,” you hypothesized.
“I 100% agree.”
The two of you spent the next hour or so just discussing what sort of things you wanted to do while you were there over the weekend, and of course how much Flynn was running around her house frantically changing outfits. You actually were excited about going, not necessarily about the actual trip, and about dealing with certain classmates, but you were looking forward to being with Luke and hanging out with your friends.
For some reason when you woke up the next morning you were a little nervous, you supposed it was because you had never been skiing or snowboarding for that matter.
You got ready pretty minimally considering you were soon to be on a five hour bus ride. None of your family was up yet so when Luke pulled into your driveway you slipped out the door.
“You got everything?” Luke asked.
“Everything except my chill,” you responded with a smile.
“You’re gonna be alright, and you don’t have to do anything there you don’t wanna do, so if you don’t wanna risk a broken leg, then don’t.”
Despite your anxieties, you knew he was still right.
“Thanks Luke.”
“Anything for you.”
When the two of you got to the bus everyone else in your group had already gotten there. You, the rest of the band, Flynn, and Willie had made a plan for the bus.
“We have arrived,” you announced to your friends as you and Luke took your spots.
“And just in time too, people kept trying to take your seats,” Willie reported.
“Thanks for saving them,” Luke responded.
The two of you continued chatting with the rest of your friends until the bus driver instructed everyone to take their seats. The majority of everyone slept on the way up there but you were too anxious to get there to sleep. Instead you watched youtube as Luke napped on your shoulder.
“Luke, Luuuuuuuuuuuke, Luooooooooooooooke,” you spoke. You were trying to wake him up quietly but you were starting to realize that wasn’t going to work.
Luckily Reggie was awake. “Oh he’s a heavy sleeper, that’s not gonna work.”
Reggie basically got himself so he was dangling off both sides of his chair before yelling in his ear.
Luke awakened with a jolt, looking fairly startled.
You weren’t entirely sure whether you should laugh, throw Reggie under the bus, or maybe both.
“What happened?” Luke asked.
“I woke you up,” Reggie answered innocently.
“By yelling in my ear?” Luke groggily questioned.
Reggie quickly tried to backpedal himself out of this situation. “I mean I don’t think the method is relevant, the important thing is that you’re up.”
Luke wasn’t awake enough to deal with the situation at hand. He just chose to lay his head back on your shoulder.
By the time you had made it to the hotel you were ready to collapse. Luke laughed when you flung yourself onto one the beds.
“Should I be worried?” he asked, mostly as a joke.
“No,” you smiled and rubbed your face, “I’m just really tired.”
“You couldn’t sleep on the bus?” he guessed.
“Yeah,” you groaned.
“You know what would help?” he asked.
“Do tell,” you inquired, from your face down position.
“This,” he said, before he jumped on the bed beside you. He curled his warm body around you and pulled you in.
“Better?” he asked.
“Yes,” you responded. You attempted to melt further into him. You laid there in a comfortable silence for a couple of minutes.
“Luke we should probably go do things,” you suggested. You attempted to get up but he pulled you back down.
You stayed with him but you turned around so you were facing him. “Luke?”
“Yes, y/n?”
You bit your lip, you had to admit, it was pretty cute. “Are you going to let me get up?” you asked.
He looked into your eyes lovingly. “Well if you’re trying to leave then no.”
“So that would be a no.”
“Well if you look at it that way then yeah,” he admitted with a mischievous smile on his face.
“Luke come o-” the rest of your sentence didn’t quite make it out. Your smart boyfriend decided to use your weak spot on your back against you.
“You wanna go now?” he teased.
“Not necessarily,” you lazily responded.
You could feel your willpower fading as the light stokes up and down your back sent a calm wave of chills through your body. But you knew if you didn’t use your chance now there was a good chance you weren’t getting out of that bed today.
“Luke come on we gotta go,” you whined. It’s not like you weren’t enjoying yourself, you most definitely were, but your friends had to be wondering where the two of you were.
“Alright, alright, fine,” he gave in.
“Can I have a kiss though?” he sweetly pleaded.
You gladly agreed, but you realized his plan of not leaving the room hadn’t quite ended when the kiss started leading down to your jaw.
“Luke you’re not sly,” you laughed.
“Oh is that so?” he asked, as he moved down to your jawline.
You nodded your head.
“Then why aren’t you moving?” he purred.
Okay, so he maybe had a point.
“You can tell me to stop,” he reminded you. He looked into your eyes for any sign of you wanting him to stop and waited.
“Unless of course, you don’t want me to stop?” he asked, with the biggest smirk you had ever seen on his face.
“Not necessarily,” you said, completely avoiding his eye contact.
He crawled over top of you, “What was that princess?” he asked.
You forced yourself to look into those beautiful blue eyes, and that devilish smile. “No, I don’t want you to stop Luke.”
“That’s what I needed to hear.” He bent his head down at your jawline, this time starting on the side of your jaw bone. He sucked at the skin and you bit your cheek down on a moan. He moved down from your neck pressing harder and making it harder for you to control yourself.
“Luke,” you moaned.
“Yes?”
“No marks.”
He smirked. “It’s a little late for that one.”
You rolled your eyes at his antics. “You suck.”
“I don’t think you're exactly in the position to be saying those sort of things,” he warned.
You raised your eyebrows. As if he thought you would back down that easily. “Really?”
He licked his lips and shrugged.
“Make me,” you insisted.
“Bad choice of words,” he threatened. In a second his shirt was off and one of his arms held your’s down and above you.
This time he noticed when you swallowed. “Nervous?” he asked, his lips quirked up.
He might’ve been starting to get to you, but you weren’t going to admit to it. “You wish Patterson,” you tested.
His head dipped down towards your collarbone. He lightly sucked on it and gradually increased his intensity until your body unwillingly gave you away and you gutturally moaned.
He jutted his chin out, the fire in his eyes on stage was nothing in comparison to this. “What about now?”
“Yes, Luke,” you groaned out.
He somehow managed to pull your shirt off with you laying down, and managed to unhook your bra with minimal difficulties.
His mouth softly sucked on the very top of your nipple.
“Fuck,” you moaned.
As he continued sucking at a rapid rate you felt the knot in your stomach twisting further, just as you thought it was going to release Luke stopped.
“How much do you want it?” he asked as he slowly pulled your pants down.
You were not going to give him the satisfaction of begging.
You felt a finger glide across your clit ever so slightly and back and forth he kept going, ever so slowly.
A whimper escaped your lips.
“Beg for me, that’s all you have to do,” he promised. He was most definitely enjoying himself.
He moved back up to your nipples but instead he moved as slow as he could, he was trying to break you.
“Come on princess, you know you want it,” he taunted.
A sole finger swiped down your pussy and your breath hitched.
“Luke please,” you moaned.
“What please? I think it has something to do with fucking you silly,” he hinted. He once again crawled over top of you to be able to see your face. Like a predator stalking prey.
“Please rail the shit out of me Luke,” you whined.
“That was all you had to say princess.”
