au where Xie Lian, in his many centuries of travel actually did hear about the ghost custom of giving one's ashes to their beloved and even saw what crystalized ashes look like. The tale he saw ended tragically as they so often do, but he remembers both the tale and how beautiful the crystalized ashes looked because they were so unlike any other precious gem or crystal he's ever seen. So, when Xie Lian wakes up That morning and finds a thin chain with a crystal ring on it, he recognizes the ring as a ghost's ashes. He is then Very confused because it has to be from Hua Cheng, and while he doesn't think Hua Cheng would give him some random ghosts ashes, it makes no sense for Hua Cheng to give Xie Lian his own ashes considering they just met and Xie Lian is a god and he's a supreme Ghost King who should be very protective of his ashes since he has so many enemies no matter how well they may get along.

He's not really sure what to do. He's not sure he feels comfortable wearing the ashes of some random ghost. It feels kinda weird. But, the thought of Hua Cheng giving him his ashes just makes no sense. There is No Way Hua Cheng could possibly be in love with him. They just met! And Xie Lian isn't lovable. He's a trash god, literally and figuratively, while Hua Cheng is one of the most powerful and influential beings in the Three Realms. Xie Lian is the Laughingstock of the Three Reals. And while Xie Lian doesn't really care about positions, he's not conceited enough to think someone like Hua Cheng could ever love someone like him.

He has no clue what's going on and has many questions. Why did Hua Cheng give him this? Are they the ashes of a ghost he knows or are they random? Does Hua Cheng just collect ashes and give them out like souvenirs? Are they ashes of someone Hua Cheng cares about? Why give them to Xie Lian? Is this some sort of mind game? Is this a trap of some sort, if not for him, then for the ghost these ashes belong to? Does Hua Cheng want him to destroy the ashes? He's a god, so eliminating ghosts is kinda expected of him. What should he do with ashes!? Should he burry them? Continue to wear them? Hide them some other way? Give them to the Heavens and other gods?

Considering Hua Cheng specifically put them around his neck, it makes the most sense that Hua Cheng would want him to wear them, but ???? What???

i think it would be super funny if xie lian tried to drink (happily!) at least once

like i could see him doing some type of mission and helping people and running into shi qingxuan. sqx invites him to have some drinks and i could see xl denying at first and sqx being like "well surely you've broken your vows since crimson flower came back ha ha"

xl would be SO embarrassed but also like. sqx has a point? he already has broken his vows, so why not try it?

he's a light weight, naturally since he doesn't drink, and while sqx insists on him staying xl is ADAMANT on seeing his san lang IMMEDIATELY

so he drunkenly stumbles back to ghost city, which is BUSY. and not just busy, but full of bright lights and amazing smelling food and he's HUNGRY

so he stumbles into multiple booths and ghosts, who all initially greet him excitedly but notice something is... off? grand uncle is always nice, but rarely does he stutter, or slur his words, or try to hug ghost children (okay maybe he's done the last one).

but it gets ESPECIALLY concerning when he tries to get the boar ghost to serve him soup (that DEFINITELY has human legs in it!!)

naturally, the ghosts run to the gambling den to tell their chengzu who is CONFUSED. because WHY is his beloved dianxia stumbling through the streets? what do you mean he asked for food from the chicken ghost?

hua cheng immediately leaves the gambling den to find his husband who is enjoying a bowl of (normal) congee and being monitored by worried ghosts. when xl sees him he SPRINTS to hua cheng, stumbling over his feet and happily yelling 'SAN LANGGG~!"

hua cheng looks at him and takes in the stuttering and stumbling, the bright blush on xl face and the slight tanginess to his breath and can't help but ask "dianxia, are you drunk?"

to which xl would just giggle and nod slightly because he's suddenly very focused. san lang has always made him feel good but right now? he feels like he's above the heavens. everything san lang feels so good, the way he looks, the way he smells, the way he feels--

hua cheng immediately scoops of xie lian and takes him to the temple of a thousand lights because he felt exactly where his highness's hand was trailing down towards and he'd be damned to let anyone else see that

"This is not typically how we do this," he points out, feeling a bit smug when Mu Qing's face starts to flush. His boyfriend scoffs and rolls his eyes, pointedly ignoring his quickly reddening face as he glares at Feng Xin.

"What? Must all things stay the same for you to enjoy them?"

"Well—no, but—"

"Then c'mon," Mu Qing says, cutting Feng Xin off.

He stands with one hand on his hip and offers out his other hand to Feng Xin who is still seated on his stool and at a complete loss as to what he's supposed to do with the offer. Kiss it? Is he meant to kiss it? But usually they talk about it first if they're going to do a scene, but—

"Feng Xin," Mu Qing scolds, sounding exasperated. The words leave Feng Xin leaning halfway to Mu Qing's hand, his lips puckered and poised to kiss. He stops in his tracks, looking up to Mu Qing with a slack expression as if to say what now?

"Give me your hand, you absolute idiot."

"Oh. Well, you could have just fucking said that now, couldn't you?"

"And what was it I did just now, Feng Xin? Did I not literally say that to you with my own mouth?"

"For fuck's sake, A-Qing," Feng Xin grumbles, snatching Mu Qing's hand in his own and tugging roughly just because he can. Mu Qing doesn't even budge—what a bitch.

"I meant earlier. Couldn't you have just said that in the first place?"

Mu Qing sighs heavily and rolls his eyes again, easily pulling Feng Xin to his feet even though Feng Xin purposely tries to make it harder for him by not helping.

Usually Mu Qing has plenty to say about Feng Xin and his attitude, but he stays uncharacteristically quiet as he leads Feng Xin down the hall and into their bedroom.

And then Feng Xin is being kissed.

It's heated and it's wanting but it's far from the rough and passionate treatment he's used to. He thinks he might like it. Feng Xin closes his eyes and sinks against the wall Mu Qing is pressing him into.

He parts his lips—lets Mu Qing taste him with his tongue—and groans, hips jutting off the wall in small, barely contained thrusts.

Mu Qing snakes his arms around Feng Xin's waist and tugs at the hem of his shirt. They part only long enough to get the fabric out of the way, their lips locking again as soon as the shirt makes it over Feng Xin's head.

Mu Qing's hands are a steady weight on Feng Xin's slim waist and Feng Xin lets himself be held in place, the ache of arousal throbbing between his legs so incessantly that he can't help but whine. Something flips in Mu Qing's expression and he tugs his own jeans and underwear down in one fell swoop, kicking them out of the way. Feng Xin's eyes slide down Mu Qing's form appreciatively, openly staring between his legs, always mesmerized by the sight of him. He swallows.

"What's this even about?" he manages to ask, still feeling like this entire ordeal has come out of nowhere.

Mu Qing tsks, seeming almost annoyed, and snaps his fingers in Feng Xin's line of sight. Feng Xin's eyes dart up to Mu Qing's face obediently.

For several seconds the two of them just stare at each other, eyes locked as the warmth of their intimacy blossoms between them.

"I just—" Mu Qing sighs, his brows knitting together as he thinks. When the words finally come to him, he has stepped close enough to lean down and press a kiss to Feng Xin's forehead. His hand finds its way to the back of Feng Xin's neck and he pulls back to look him deeply in the eyes.

"I want to love on you, okay? I want to—to take you apart and kiss you and make you feel good."

Feng Xin is in love with him.

Mu Qing gets this complicated look on his face and steps back again, leaving Feng Xin bereft.

Mu Qing's eyes grow impossibly dark but he makes no move to come closer, which is certainly a crime against Feng Xin and one he will not be taking lightly.

Feng Xin hums in complaint and offers both his hands out to Mu Qing from where he sits naked on their bed, trying to glare but surely only managing to muster a pitiful pout.

Mu Qing smiles at him then—a small and genuine thing he wears just for Feng Xin—and all Feng Xin can think about is how in love he is.

The bed dips as Mu Qing slides a knee up onto the mattress, right between Feng Xin's spread legs. He takes just Feng Xin's fingers in his hands, squeezing them before sliding their palms together in an achingly too-gentle way that sends shivers wracking up and down Feng Xin's entire body. Mu Qing twists his wrists so that their hands line up perfectly and then he threads their fingers together and presses Feng Xin into the mattress, their joined hands sinking into the pillows just above Feng Xin's head.

Feng Xin's eyes are hazy as they go half-lidded, a moan slipping out of his throat as Mu Qing settles in against him.

"Let me take care of my boy, alright? Can you let me do that, A-Xin?"

"Yes," Feng Xin says desperately, pressing up into Mu Qing's touch with an eagerness he ought to be embarrassed of but doesn't have the brain space to even think about.

"I'm yours," he promises.

And as a reward, Feng Xin gets a kiss left like a prayer right at the top of his cupid's bow and the touch is so heart-achingly sweet it makes him dizzy.

Or in the Damian one, Mu Qing comes to Gotham with Damian because like hell is he letting this literal child go alone (he's getting Hong Honger flashbacks). And the batfamily just wonders why tf Damian is so not a little demon brat to Mu Qing. (there has to be some symbolism with blue, like if he wears it bc that's what he wore during the Xian Le servant era)

DC Universe x Class of 09 - Kind of like a Magic & Mystery situation with Tim Drake infuriating the school. It could be a trafficking ring because of how many p3doph!les there are or smt. Either Tim interacting with the absolute insanity that is (I think the game location is georgetown?) highschool. Or him coming back messed up to bits like "Miss. I'm a sociopath" is coming back with a bang. The ending with prison maybe Timcole can see Joker? And manipulate him? Either joins the rouges or manipulates them.

MDZS x DC Universe - Lan Wangji as Damian Wayne makes so much sense to me. Emotionless, rule following, animal lovers. Would Lan Zhan find comfort in the LOA? Following their rules and training? It's just really interesting... does he find Wei Wuxian (ship of choice)? Lan Xichen (definitely Dick Greyson)?

TGCF x DC Universe - Hua Cheng / Tim going crazy trying to find Xie Lian. Becomes a rouge and breaks into bat cave cutely. Batfamily or the Sirens start finding the little stalker cute. Maybe Xie Lian just doesn't exist in this world and Ra's tries to grab the little psycho. Maybe he becomes batman when Bruce get's lost in the time stream?

Black Butler x DC Universe - Ciel Phantomhive as Bruce Wayne. Sebastian Michaels as Alfred Pennyworth... Unlocked after Bruces parents die? Alfred always knew????

Angels of Death x DC Universe - I want Rachel at the ending to attempt self delete but she like fails (Zack is still gone (maybe)) and decides to run away to the states. I want Rachel to attempt to be like Zach and for Jason to find her. Like he's doing his shtik at the LOA and he find Tichel either getting hurt or murdering someone. Or Tichel is still Red Robin somehow but they imprint on each other when Jason goes to kill them. I want family feels luving !!!

Bungo Stray Dog's x DC Universe - Rampo dies super sad but BUT he comes back as Damian Wayne and can you imagine this 26 year old man who's never run a mile in his life do assasin training? TGCF x Naruto - Can go Kakashi as Xie Lian or Xie Lian as Kakashi, either way is about to come more traumatized than anyone barganed for. Obito / Hua Cheng can come too because the obsessiveness. Make Hua Cheng / Obito a little more crazy and he wants infinate Tsukoyomi so Xie Lian / Kakashi will quit being traumatized !!! Codependency is key and they could both join Akatsuki for shits and giggles.

Fun fact Qi Rong is the reason I am so far down the danmei rabbit hole now.

He is my precious chaotic gremlin and one of my absolute favourite things about tgcf. Crossover MDZS/TGCF where, the Nie Family are the descendants of the Shi Family, even if not directly from the brothers (who were both to young to be parents when they ascend).

But the Water and Wind Masters are importants gods in Qinghe.

Nie Huaisang especially search comfort from them after his brother's death. Shi Qingxuan is worried for him and visit him often (even if as a god, he can't show favoritism….even if nobody would know). Shi Wudu is less present but he's pissed when he learns what happened to Mingjue.

(Let's just say that the Jin aren't very lucky with the sea, lacs, rivers or the winds)

The Black Water Arc happens.

Nie Huaisang realizes that he doesn't see Shi Qingxuan anymore like before, and he's worried. Nobody answers the prayers anymore. Like if they weren't here anymore.

He still prays for them.

Nothing will make him believe less in them.

They're his family, even if from generations ago.

Months pass. TGCF events is over.

Nie Huaisang successes in his revenge towarf Jin Guangyao, which reveal all the truths about what happened since years, and he also reveals all the wrongs the man did. And so he makes sure that his friend (Wei Wuxian) is now prooved innocent and can live happily.

And Nie Huaisang immediatly ascends as god of rightful revenge, who punish the culprits, and protect the innocents, who give the strength to people to hope that there are a justice in the world when the human justice left them down. He's also see as the protector of families.

While he decides to immediately search a way to make sure that his brother really rest, he also asks what happened to the Shi Siblings. He grieves Wudu, even if he also judges him hardly for what he did.

He learns the unfair life that Qingxuan lives right now and go to see him. He finds a very thin and tired beggar, with a arm and a leg paralysed and heartbroken because he really loved He Xuan. Nie Huaisang knows what happened to him. Except that the whole "having his brother killed under his eyes" thing trigger him a lot.

He reveals himself to Shi Qingxuan and while the latter is proud of him.

Nie Huaisang speaks with him about what happened, about He Xuan and he's like

Nie Huaisang: aren't you tired of being super nice?

Nie Huaisang: Don't you just wanna go apeshit?

Shi Qingxuan: haha what? I deserved it. He Xuan had the right to avenge his family.

Nie Huaisang: And so you have the right to avenge your brother by this logic, right?

Shi Qingxuan:

I've been seeing a lot of fengqing and their twins fu yao and nan feng recently and it led me to think up an au.

So, Nan Feng and Fu Yao are not fengqing in disguise, but are actually fengqing's kids and they just act exactly like their parents, and they fight and annoy each other constantly like that because they're siblings. Fengqing wanted to go down in disguise to help Xie Lian, but couldn't get away from their godly duties, so sent their kids down instead as the next best thing. Of course they told their kids to not tell Xie Lian they sent them, so they don't.

As to why they use the insults they do, they hear the insults their parents use on each other (bc even if they're in love they're still gonna argue and insult and fight. it's their love langue) and repeat it. So, during the Mount Yujun mission, when they're arguing, they're basically using "yo mama" insults, but they're insulting their own parents instead of just the other's. Like in the case of an identical twin calling the other ugly. But, instead of "yo mama" it's "your general."

Fu Yao and Nan Feng chose which of their parents they wanted to be a junior official of when they got older, so that's why they're from different palaces. Or, they could switch periodically, and that's just which palace they were with at the time. It would actually probably be funnier if they switched which palace they severed periodically, and so one month they would be insulting mu qing and defending feng xin and the next month insulting feng xin and defending mu qing.

i don't know. this idea literally just came to me so it's not super thought out, but i wanted to share.

🌸Ferret Lian headcanon:

Do you ever think how cute, but also kinda sad it would be if Hua Cheng actually had a pet white ferret always accompanying him during those 800 years?

Maybe he found it somewhere, beaten, bruised and helpless and it reminded him of his beloved prince so he took it home, took utmost care of it. He might not let anyone touch it, worried that it would scare the ferret. He made the ferret a small bamboo hat, white/golden robes and ribbons, maybe a little umbrella, and the most expensive cutest little house for it. And the ferret, soon healthy and happy, always stays in his lap or his arms, or keeps himself warm inside Hua Cheng's sleeves. Even E-ming likes the cute white ferret and plays with it. Hua Cheng would probably immortalize the ferret somehow.🌸

🌸Post canon: Xie Lian loves the ferret so much and always carries him around like a baby. Ruoye finds a new playmate who might be the cutest being ever.🌸
