I've started v7 of Heaven Official's Blessing and let me tell you I was NOT expecting some voltron-style gundam battle but I'm deeply into it

The Series 07 toy sets include Divine Statue Gundam, with Ghost King and Flower Crowned Martial God figures, as well as the God Sword set with 4 additional Heavenly Officials (though the owner of Ghost City Emporium doesn't know why you'd waste your money on that trash)

I think Pei Ming got appointed as the next Heavenly Emperor and the whole process went something like this: soon after the finale the whole court gathers round and decides that they will need a new leader to supervise the reconstruction of capital. When the question about candidates drops, everyone becomes quiet for a while, Then some guys start talking, dropping Polite HintsTM that they might be just the right person. These people start mocking each other and arguing, but before the fight can catch fire, Feng Xin points a finger at Xie Lian and loudly declares that Xie Lian has single-handedly defeated Jun Wu and thus he is the strongest of them all. Pei Ming agrees with enthusiasm. Mu Qing nods silently but firmly. Quan Yizhen doesn't say anything but he looks at Xie Lian and beams with excitement the same way he did when he saw Hua Cheng's carriage.

Basically all martial gods are thrilled to be next to a guy who won a boss fight.

Everyone who is not a martial god pales and holds their breath.

Xie Lian smiles and says no.

Martial gods shrug.

Everyone who is not a martial god sighs with relief.

Ling Wen points out that, without Jun Wu and Shi Wudu, the most worshipped god is Pei Ming.

Everyone falls silent for a minute, contemplating this. Then some people start voicing their agreement, others nod along. It seems that Pei Ming is getting court’s support.

Seeing this, Rong Guang laughs and comments that Pei Ming is a vain man after all, not being satisfied with the position of mortal ruler and carving himself a path to the Heavenly Emperor’s throne instead.

Pei Ming pales, then reddens and tells Rong Guang to shut up. While the position of the Emperor is not the one he would chase after, it’s a job that needs to be done, and if he’s trusted with the task, then he will serve the Heavens the best way he can. This is what he tells other officials.

Voices of support become louder and more excited, people start cheering and applauding for Pei Ming, but he asks for silence. He says that when it comes to worship, there are gods who may compete with him. He then addresses Feng Xin and Mu Qing, asking if they want to fight him for the title.

Ling Wen sighs and thinks to herself that when it comes to gods of war, even the future of Heavens would be decided by who throws punches harder.

Without missing a beat, Feng Xin says that he supports Pei Ming. Mu Qing, however, stays silent for a couple of seconds before voicing his support, which prompts Feng XIn to jab him in the ribs with an elbow and say: “What, do you really think YOU can be a Heavenly Emperor?!” To which Mu Qing replies: “Why do you think I necessarily think about myself?! Maybe I’m contemplating other worthy candidates!” Feng Xin retorts that he doesn’t think Mu Qing thinks what he thinks he thinks, but he thinks –  and they proceed to fight for the title of the most thoughtful god until Xie Lian proclaims both of them great thinkers.

So the matter is settled. Pei Ming turns to Ling Wen and says that as the new Heavenly Emperor, he will see to her punishment being appropriate to her hideous crimes.

Ling Wen gives him a sour look and says she’d rather burn her own temples and then lock herself in prison for the rest of her days.

Pei Ming claps her on the shoulder and says he’s looking forward to working with her.

she tragically dies in childbirth with Feng Xin

fengshen (Feng Xin's longbow) uses the same character for "Shen"

Shen Liang (神諒): Feng Xin's Older Sister

Feng Xin's older sister by many years, born before her mother married Feng Yang

Feng Yang claims her to be a carbon copy of her mother

she hates Feng Xin... to the fullest extent of the word

to her, her little brother is a parasite that took her beloved mother away

but he still tries relentlessly to get on her good side... but to no avail... he loves her so much

Entirely random but, so, I’m currently rereading Heaven Official’s Blessing book/arc 5, and I’ve noticed 2 things:

1) how tf did I forget that there were two (2) fucking statue/mech battles???

2) I forgot how emotional the whole final battle makes me, just, everyone coming together, from the random homeless people to the professional cultivators, from the gods to the ghosts. The shared humanity in wanting to save the world just makes me so emotional. The way that, in that battle, Jun Wu is the only one who’s truly alone — even his “allies” barely trust him (and that’s optimistically speaking).

something I really love about tgcf is that like, yes its a romance and the romance IS the highlight of the story and everything in it follows along the path to that romantic ending, but I just love how the writing get you to really fucking care about that romance

“that’s a super common thing in romance stories bro” i KNOW but just come walk with me for a second. I love that the story takes us on xie lian’s journey through his third ascension but also through his past that is infinitely fucking important to the present. we have to sit for such long flashbacks within the books where xie lian just gets kicked to the ground and dragged through the dirt like non fucking stop. we see him at his greatest and we see him at his absolute fucking lowest. we are rooting for this poor fail man and feeling all those injustices he faces in our hearts and just fucking. wishing for things to go his way for once and .. by god thats what we get through the romance

we the reader are like sooo fucking aware that hua cheng knew xie lian from ages ago (at least likely aware, it didn’t seem like it was Really a well kept secret) from back in book 2, and then near the end of the book we find that !! not only did he know him as a kid and a teenager in the army but after he died he stayed around JUST for him, and even though he couldnt do much he was there through literally those worst moments of xie lian’s life and fast forward hes still there. devoted as ever after building an empire all in the name of his love and it’s. GOD it was so fucking satisfying to learn.

xie lian deserved that passion and devotion and jsut straight up love after all that bullshit. he went through hell and on the other end of it, after years and years of stumbling through barren wastelands on his own he gets to finally fall into the arms of someone that practically turned the term unconditional love into reality and EMBODIES it. he gets to find out how easy happiness can be. someone to eat his shitty food like how he’d eat his mother’s. someone that was there and saw him so fucked up and through it all loved him all the same and even felt that pain with him … bro deserved the world after everything and got someone that would do fucking anything to give him just that, if not literally then whatever the hell could be closest and i just love it SO much

I feel like the TGCF fandom talks about how Xie Lian roasted Yin Yu hard but I think we forget about how the only reason hes so plain and forgettable is because he lost the spark in his eye.

MAJOR SPOILER WARNING BEYOND THIS

Yin Yu is only so forgettable because of the actions that occurred during the brocade immortal incident - he lost that spark in his eyes and self respect that made him so memorable and impressive.

I think a lot of people just forget this if that makes sense. And he wasn't plain forever- in book 7 when he sacrificed himself Xie Lian states

Which is implying that he sees him as impressive at this moment as he called the youthful Yin Yu impressive and bright. The only reason YY is so plain to him is because he's not as confident as he used to be - he's not impressive anymore because he doesn't have the confidence nor happiness he once had as a young man.

ALSO - a lot of people think XL is calling YY ugly but he just called him plain. Some people misinterpret or are just doing it for the memes(im not saying they arent funny i usually laugh) but this is a reminder that canonically he IS attractive.

These are two quotes I will elaborate on using.

The yellow - he's canonically attractive, a 7/10 to Xie Lian who grew up in literally the most gorgeous place ever.

The teal - he just doesn't have personality to his face like he USED TO. He gets that personality back before he dies.

Idk, im probably just reading too much into it - i just wanted to post something about Yin Yu. So whenever someone thinks pookie is ugly canonically he just doesn't have personality to his face - he's attractive and the fans aren't pretending he is lol. Im probably reading too much into this, i just wanted to talk about him.

IM NOT TRYING TO START ARGUMENTS OR ANYTHING GUYS I JUST SEE A LOT OF POSTS LIKE "Yin Yu fans pretending he isn't canonically ugly" AND IM LIKE???
