So, I saw some people talking about how Sam lake was pulled aside after the game awards from some promotional stuff and thought it was for DBD. I don't think it was, as those licenses take longer than a month to settle. I think it was Halloween Horror Nights.
October through January is when they really start planning for next year. Sam Lake and other Remedy Talent (INCLUDING Alan's face and voice actor, and possibly Saga's? I can't remember if she was there or not) would be in one place in the US and it would be really easy for Universal to send someone over to talk to them. In addition, in late October is when Alan started getting really talked about as a good game, stood on it's own two feet, and was specifically being talked about as a HORROR game in HORROR circles. I don't think Alan will be as talked about next year, compared to how Resident Evil is a bit more Evergreen. (Also, considering how much Remedy loves Mixed Media, taking Alan into the physical space would be something they would at least consider) So, assuming it's A) Happening and B) Alan Wake 2, I'd like to talk about how a house could be planned out. I'm picturing the Orlando Parade building or Soundstage, but mostly the Parade Buildings, like where The Last of Us was last year)
the Queue. This one I think will need a little more going on as Alan Wake has a more involved narrative than other horror games. So, I think it can go as either one of two ways. Either A) You film (and project) a full episode of The Inbetween with Mr. Door where Alan, Mr. Door, and possible other characters do a full talk show where they recap the first game, explain the narrative structure, Alan's powers, Zane, Taken/TDP, etc. (with possible Old Gods songs mixing it up. They were there at the TGA too!) OR B) Reuse footage of Alan typing and have Matthew Poretta do the recap in first person. This one is less complicated, but also... just Alan typing can be boring if you are watching it for 20 to 150 minutes. C) Small chance it's a reworked episode of "Night Springs" And the set up is Alan hijacks it to tell his story.
The first room: It's the Talk show with Mr. Door either way. He'll do an intro like he does on the TV screens, Saga gets mentioned here if she isn't already, same with Alex Casey. He'll finish off with like "Let's get started!" or "We got a good show!" If you've been to the Orlando version, picture it like the opening room of Bugs! It's 30 seconds, He's in the center, little to no scares. I also think that Alan can use the manuscripts to narrate relevant bits between the scenes. (Why Saga or Alan are there, Why Alan is facing down Mr. Scratch, etc) Ahti can also provide directions. Kosekela brothers can play in the background of some of these scenes, etc. I won't put them in in general, but assume they are there for flavor text, I'm just planning a hypothetical house set up. In addition, all Jump scares will be Taken, as they have a physical form. Shadow forms can be used on the walls of Alan's scenes, but they can't interact with guests.
Second room, Saga's entrance. Low scares, I'm thinking her holding the manuscript page and telling Casey it's about them before they get jumped by a taken. It's in the middle of the woods, possibly by the lake.
Third room: Alan's first murder site, the Tunnels. They can reuse the train cars from previous years pretty easily, and have Alan trying to get out and asking help.
Fourth Room: Saga at Coffee world! There is so much creepiness to use here, and they can reuse stuff from like Carnival Graveyard. Taken will of course attack here.
Fifth Room: Alan meeting Zane at the Hotel. Zane can be used for quiet a few jump scares and the Hotel room would be a fun place to put together.
Sixth Room: Staying with Alan, we are now at the Ballroom scene. They could probably rig up lighting to switch the room set up pretty quickly, play some screams, have Alan be confused on the stage as more Taken try to jump out.
Seventh Room: Saga fighting Cynthia
Eighth Room: Alan at Poet's Cinema. Have Yoton Yo play on screen as the Taken attack from the other seats. Alan can be on stage, or fighting them off as a distraction.
Ninth Room: Saga, and Alex, in the Bright Falls sheriff station.
Tenth Room: Dark Ocean Summoning! The Old Gods finally appear, we get a huge scene, lots of taken jump scares, Saga shooting at them, Cauldron Lake, projections, storm effects, come on, it would be awesome.
Eleventh Room: Scratch!Casey charging Saga and Alan or charging at us in the writer's room.
Leaving: I think the final Scare would be Scratch again, though I'm not sure if it would be Casey or the Proper Mr. Scratch. I think American Nightmare Mr. Scratch with an Axe would be fun, this is just a final scare with him jumping out from behind the curtain. Bonus! The TV commercial. They've been doing this "Group of friends getting picked off at HHN" the last few years so I think what it could be is the one friend in this case is wandering around and hears Herald of Darkness. As he goes forward, his foot crushes a manuscript page. He picks it up, and we hear Matthew Poretta narrating it, where it describes his actions... and how he is about to die. Cue a Taken or MAYBE Mr. Scratch chasing him. (They don't like using the actors in these commercials, but the Taken are a bit too generic, where as either Mr. Scratch or normal Scratch at least looks like a real problem) Anyway, that's my thoughts. What do you think?

A lil Colder update for the curious C:
Currently working on tga - the next few chapters are gonna get a lil .. heavy? Let's say. Working on flow so the text doesn't get too overwhelming while maintaining plot stuff takes a while
UV has been a little on the back burner during this process, I jump in on my spiders from time to time, but I think I'll get back to it properly after I've finished working around tga.
Some 'Palette cleansers', I have a few small oneshots completely unrelated to my main stories (still monster lovin' related lmao) I drabble with to re-inspire. Considering posting them too, but I don't want to make things more messy here than they are .. we'll see.
Thanks everyone who sends me prompts and questions to get brain juices flowing, they help a lot actually. Thanks for sticking around ~

So far I’ve only played DGS and AA1 out of the Ace Attorney games and have been having so much fun!
Sorry for all the attacks on Edgeworth LMAO I tend to curse out the prosecutors when they get too smug
Close ups and text below!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stickers by Halmistax on Redbubble and NoodlesAndTeaShop on Etsy!! Christmas and assorted stickers are from the store Daiso
I think it’s so funny that Ace Attorney is a shocking mystery game not just because of how the cases play out, but also because the dialogue is so insane . Like what do you mean Phoenix used to tip cows and Edgeworth has a chess set that is specifically modeled after himself and Phoenix
Typed out writing!
Rating: 9.1/10 Played: Wi 2023 Port: N. Switch Favorite? Y Replayable? Y Recommend? Y Series: Ace Attorney
Comments:
Love the pixel art, very smooth animations
Revealed the killer in the first animation??
Super easy first case? TGA was not only longer but had a more compelling case
So far I like Phoenix and Mia but not Larry
Edgeworth's a dirty, cheating bastard. Where's the integrity T^T

Game Dev Notes
Really great art, style, and animations - very unique
limited music, no character themes
new case as a bonus for the DS edition at the time
iconic quotes and cases - referenced every year
love the resolution of the characters in the credits
last case introduced 3D investigation - really fun and loved
incredible character design and emotional growth
Summary: What an incredibly start to a series. I completely understand why people love Ace Attorney so much. Amazing characters and development, great and insane humor, blatant homoeroticism, and well thought out mysteries. Although it's not to the scale of TGAA, you can see all the major inspiration TGAA took from just the first game. I believe AA1 would be just as phenomenal as TGA if it had all of the same resources. I absolutely love these characters, they have so much personality and Capcom really knows how to utilize humor. The relationship between Phoenix and Miles is great. They complement each other so well and learn to embrace each other's passion to create such a beautiful duo. They are the lawyers to be feared because they will stop at nothing to discover the truth. They're also so in love with each other and they're not subtle about it. I loved each case as they really highlighted everyone's personality and motivation/ The discovery of Edgeworth's past and how Phoenix helped him, hell, saved him and shaped him to pursue a future filled with integrity. The art is so amazing. The switch version doesn't have the pixel art but for such an older game, the art is incredible. There's limited music and there's a lot of running around but the charm of the characters and great mysteries is what boosted the score. I am so excited to play more of these games and meet some of the fan favorite characters. The AA community is so talented and loving. I am so happy to be here!

Capturing the ambience of LEGO Racers 2
This sequel builds upon the childlike simplicity of its predecessor with large, organic environments and an emphasis on physics and RPG elements. Also, its painterly visual style scales pretty well to modern displays.
Tumblr media
Custom resolutions
To run LR2 at higher resolutions, we can use command-line arguments. Create a shortcut with a target like:
"LEGO Racers 2.exe" /width 1920 /height 1080
Field-of-vision
There's instructions for this on PCGamingWiki. Open the game executable in a hex editor, and then
Press Ctrl+F and search for 0000B4428B. At offset 0004A100, replace the B4 value with:
AC for 5:4 screens
C6 for 25:16 screens
C8 for 16:10 screens
CC for 15:9 screens
D2 for 16:9 screens
F0 for ~21:9 screens
Extracting game files
Use UNGTC to dump the game's archive (related forum topic).
Once successful, we can configure the EXE to refer to our dumped file tree, rather than the archive. To enable that, check out this forum topic:
Open the EXE in a hex editor
Search for 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 B8 03 00 00 00 C3
Replace "03" with "00" and save
From here, we can modify the game's HUD textures and onscreen guide arrow to prevent them from appearing.
Tumblr media
Hiding the HUD
Hiding the green arrow is simple. Instructions from Xir:
Go to \GAME DATA\CAR CRAZE\OBJECTS\MODELS\ And grab the model (.md2) that says OLITIM_INVISIBLE.MD2 use this to REPLACE the arrow located at: GAME DATA\HUD\3D ARROW\3D ARROW.MD2
Eliminating HUD texture elements is trickier. To make working with the relevant MIP textures easier, you can install a Windows explorer extension called SageThumbs (forum topic). But we can get by with Paint.NET - or any other competent TGA editor, as MIPs much like TGAs in practice.
We'll need to replace HUD GRAPHICS 1.MIP, NUMBERS1.MIP, NUMBERS2.MIP, NUMBERS3.MIP, and PA GOLD BRICK ICON.MIP with transparent versions of themselves. To do this:
Move or rename the original MIP
Create a blank TGA with the same name (example: NUMBERS3.TGA). Be sure to disable compression when exporting
Start the game. You'll notice that LR2 automatically converts your TGA into a MIP (forum topic)!
Observe "removed" HUD elements in-game
You'll want to modify NORMAL_FONT and SMALL_FONT to hide any onscreen text as well.
Tumblr media
Camera control
Pressing "4" at any time will activate a rear-view camera. This allows us to view the world without a player-character - unless your car has a lot of protrusions, which might be visible even in rear-view.
For complete control over camera rotation and position, we can use Xir's Cheat Engine table. Be sure to enable the "lock" options otherwise the game will just revert the camera back to its default position. This table also exposes an overhead camera angles not normally accessible in the game. Note: LR2 crashed frequently when I employed this technique.
Capturing sounds
After extracting with UNGTC, LR2's sounds can be found in the LEGO Racers 2\game data\SOUNDS directory for creating custom ambience mixes.
If you want to capture sounds in-game instead, you'll need to mute your car's engine sounds. To achieve this, create a silent WAV file, export it an to AIFF using a tool like Audacity (File -> Export -> Export Audio), and override the relevant assets (LEGO Racers 2\game data\SOUNDS\ENGINES\LOOPED\SMALDIDL.AIF and SMALDREV.AIF). Note: it seems AIFFs need at least one sample to be valid; LR2 will crash on invalid AIFFs.
Tumblr media
Capturing (or not) music
Turning down the game's music volume in the menu doesn't quite mute it. Employ the technique above to completely silence music, except use a WAV rather than an AIF.
That said, LR2's music tracks occasionally mix in ambient effects (e.g. listen for crickets in Sandy Bay track). Because of this, you may decide to leave the music for completeness.

Hiya. Announcement here. Lot of text.
Firstly, late congrats to @ELDENRING and Fromsoft obviously for winning GOTY. Well deserved. Also hyped for armored core, even though I’ve never played all the OGs. But I’ve heard great things only bout them, soooo.
Secondly. I’m probably going to give up on Elden Ring daily challenge for now. I got.. tired of drawing basically the same characters all over again, despite sometimes not wanting too. Ofc it was fun, no doubt, and I appreciate y’all’s support, but for now I got to stop. Obv I’m gonna draw more ER art cus I’m still a big fan, but, yk, I like other media n games too, and sometimes I want to draw different things. But I fr had no time to, whilst drawing only ER 24/7.
And the third, pretty influential reason, they haven’t announced anything yet. I had high hopes for dlc being announced at TGA, but we received AC6. Not blaming fromsoft in any way!!! I’m happy that they’re doing other things too. That’s mostly my own expectations that got broken, and that’s my fault. I think there’s still a plenty of time before official dlc announcement. So, ig, I’ll resume this challenge when we’ll know the exact date! By now, I’ll concentrate on other things and commissions.
Thank you. Love y’all!

Hi Epi, hope you're well :) I really like your TOs mod, but I'm not a fan of TS3's art style and don't want all my non-modded TOs replaced. Do you know if there's a version of the mod that doesn't default replace the art for the existing TOs?
Hi! I'm glad you like the mod! I'm not aware of such version, but you can do that pretty easily yourself.
Open the mod with SimPe, click the text on the left that says jpg/tga/png Image (IMG), and browse through the list of images that opens. For all that you want to use their original icons, right-click and choose delete. And remember to save the file in the end.
That takes care of the icons. There are also separate textures for speech bubble images, under Texture Images. They're a bit harder to edit as you'll need to find the old art and replace the new ones with it, but also depends how much it bothers you to rarely spot sims to talk about TOs with wrong images if it's really worth the trouble.
