plural playlist? plural playlist
ive been makin a playlist thats all "songs that make me think about bein plural/have plural vibes/are about trauma and systems/whatever" for a hot second. im not 100% happy with it but yknow i think we all need a distraction rn so.
have like 3 hours of ✨songs to split yr personality to✨ /s
if u vibe with this u can reblog it. this aint just for did systems or endo systems or trauma systems or whatever its for anyone who wants it.
content warnings: self-destructive vibes/suicidal ideation, drugs/alcohol, unreality, amnesia, bad choices, bad headmate relationships, breakups, fuckin kpop for some reason
tracklist + explanations under the cut
hive mind - tmbg i think this one speaks for itself
birdhouse in yr soul- tmbg listen this one has fucked up headmate to host vibes tell me im wrong. im yr only friend/im not actually yr friend/make a place in yr soul for me.

whistling in the dark - they might be giants theres only one thing that i know how to do well/and ive often been told that you only can do what you know how to do well/and thats be you/be what yr like/be like yrself
over my head - lit overwhelm is a v system feel for us ig? ok ill own it this is mostly here to lift up the mood at the end.
imaginary friend (english version) - itzy ok this song is the whole reason this playlist exists. hosts partner is real into kpop and was listenin to this and we started laughin about how big the system mood is with this one and how"LYRICS GUY YR EXPERIENCES ARENT UNIVERSAL." it made me wanna see how many songs i could find about the system experience tho. i dont like kpop. at all. but this one speaks 2 me.
@endogenesis-evangelion @lizardywizard @furyfuzz @eklesia-system @thegmsys @the-masked-bandits-system all either wanted to see this playlist or recced songs to put on it. i didnt get to everyones songs so if u want urs on here- well ill see if i can cram it in somewhere lol

INFO
This is an RP blog for my DoL PC, Clara (the phantom) Loveday! Run by @degrees-of-fuck the thing the myth the absentee.
Major canon character relationship under cut for useful info just in case, but any and all interactions are welcome! (cw for sibling pseudocest. Also in general on the blog, cw for the usual assault related in-game horrors and possibly occasional references to suicide.)
Not necessary reading, but it's here and might inspire some interactions idk.
ROBIN: Robin and Clara have a sibling-like relationship, with an unacknowledged undercurrent of something Else that Clara finds too alarming to actually think about. Robin is the subject of most of Clara's paranoia and OCD obsessions. Clara would kill and die for Robin (but she isn't very good at verbalizing this.)
SYDNEY: Clara's presence is kind of automatically somewhat corrupting, even if not specifically in a sexual way. Goth Effect. So I currently tend to imagine Clara's Sydney as being fairly neutral on the purity front. Clara and Syd are academic rivals -> lovers, with Clara helping Sydney in the library on certain days. They share their writing with each other and are both so so mentally ill.
EDEN: Clara feels genuine guilt for not loving Eden the way Eden loves her and it fucking Sucks. girl you were abducted. Still, she does... Care for them. Even if she is also absolutely terrified. She tries to make the best of the situation, visiting once weekly, trying to make the place comfortable and learning skills while she's out there. It's mostly a source of turmoil for her though lol.
BAILEY: Clara's family has been stuck at this orphanage for GENERATIONS and Bailey knows this. Maybe knew her mother? I imagine Bailey trusts Clara possibly Less far than they could throw her, but generally, Clara is quiet, courteous and consistent enough with the money to stay out of the line of fire for the most part. On account of her family being so tied to the place via Debt Cycles, I like to imagine her having lowkey Potential Future Caretaker disease. She hates this.
AVERY: Clara is knowledgeable, well-spoken, polite, has a funny way of picking up nice things to accentuate her fancy outfits and is the sort of person to read about how to use different kinds of silverware - even if more for writing reasons than for Avery. So I think Avery liked her. HOWEVER, she's also so so so autistic and being around Avery is a TRULY DRAINING AND MISERABLE experience. So as soon as she could afford to she started turning them down every week. This uhhh didn't go well and now she's back to going out with them feeling like she has a gun to her head every single time. One of the people she's lied about Clarabelle being her real name to out of spite.
REMY: OUGHH the rat... Remy dreams are one of many reasons Clara refuses to sleep. She still calls them Master in her head sometimes and despises it. Every time she is taken to the farm, she gets a little closer to starting a cow uprising, yet closer to losing her goddamn mind. While with Remy, she's obedient, quiet and affectionate - but only when prompted. (I think of her Remy Trauma as a microcosm for the whole thing tbh <3 Tfw you are acutely aware you are meat on a hook and exist for others' consumption)
ALEX: Clara sometimes works at the farm - mostly during school holidays. She knows her botany and she likes being away from the town lol. She's very knowledgeable, prefers to be very independent when she can and she's at least a little stronger than she looks, but lacks stamina. Also she keeps getting horrendously sunburnt while she's there because she keeps forgetting to protect her skin lmao. I think Alex's dominance stat would be on the high side, but not full. I tend to imagine Alex having a one-sided Thing at her, but that's not necessary to play out. I can easily picture Clara sometimes having Remy Flashbacks while at Alex's and trying to hide that.On that note, she is 100% on board with helping Alex with the Remy thing. And also just with any opportunity to fuck with Remy.

Endgame spoilers for Process of Elimination (which you totally have to play, IMO it's better than Danganronpa 1)
The first investigation...
Shit, Saika knew it even before she died- Senior was somehow responsible for all the dead in the research buildimg. Of course, it was Senior and Downtown working together...
I knew that it was revealed in a post-game cutscene that Armor and Saika were brother and sister, but wow. It was really in a post game scene.
Wow, that means that so goddamn soon after Armor realized Saika was his sister, he lost her. Painful...
Saika really has to go through a lot of stuff to continue in her role as Ideal Detective, including refusing any connections with family. I wonder if there was ever a chance if it ending, or if she had to spend the rest of her life like that.
Illusory Detective... did we ever learn who that was?
The second investigation...
Ohhhhhh! We're actually going to see what happened between Downtown and Mystic before he died!
"If I announce that I know where the trapdoor is, the Duke will surely kill me..." he says, before discreetly providing the truth to one of the Duke's associates.
Even Downtown hates the Duke low key so she's just. like. "I am literally the last person you should be telling this shit to"
"I can tell- like me, you lost someone dear to you, and were aimless and lost for a long time." yeah and then she joined up with her friend's killer lmao
Nooooooo he just wanted her to live a good life noooooooooooooo
And she'd already sunk the poison into his neck noooooooooooo and now she regrets it 😭😭😭😭😭
The fourth investigation (3 is skipped probably because we see both the victim and killer in later scenes)
Oh so. you just carry a news article everywhere. how did the detectives have the space to carry all these little things on their person
Renegade's POV...
He murdered his own mother because his mother was planning to murder his family. Ouch...
This is really interesting if you assume Renegade knew the truth about the Duke all along (though I have no idea if he knew the Duke's actual identity). His whole family died in what amounted to one person's suicide. Of course he'd be mad at someone who plans them out, then never considers himself guilty for the deaths he causes.
Tfw you get more lore about Saika's shitty father than Rowdy.
Armor, you are very stupid. Like you're an idiot. You're not a clown you're the entire circus. I wanted to like you so bad.
I thought Renegade wanted to kill Techie specifically. I didn't realize he decided to go after Armor specifically because he didn't like Techie and wanted to teach him the value of life or some shit. And had a minor grudge against Armor's family. Seriously I still don't get the grudge against Techie. He's in a wheelchair and physically can't push dangerous buttons. He's literally the only hater and we just spent a chapter getting really mad at a grown adult who murdered a kid.
Which is another reason I like ProE better than DR1- the cast all legitimately care for each other even as they're dying one by one. To the point where the guy who outright bullies another member of the cast is regarded as a total asshole. It feels a lot like V3's early game cast in that respect, actually, and I loved that cast so much before they splintered during case 3.
The fifth investigation...
who the fuck is carrying a will with them 24/7- OF FUCKING COURSE IT'S YOU
It actually is kind of sad how badly Workaholic fucks up over the course of this game. First he has a hunch on who the Duke is and tries to kill Renegade based off that hunch. He was totally wrong about the hunch. He fucks up and kills a different kid. He tries to convince them that he's in the right and it was an honest mistake (that he tried to frame someone else for! twice!) by revealing his hunch. The guy he's after turns the tables on him by revealing his own crimes. The entire group hates him now. He basically stalks them at length trying to kill Renegade, who, once again, is NOT the Duke, even trying to convince Saika's little friend (who he tried to frame, and also hit with a chair) to help him commit murder. Which he fails to do. And then tried it a second time. The second time taking his new little sister hostage. And failing again. So his only recourse is to get the group to think he was murdered by Renegade, murdering him in the process, but that only succeeds for less than a day as they quickly realize that he orchestrated his own death to kill Renegade, and it was less a double murder and more of a suicide that would cause a murder. And even that doesn't work. Renegade (who is NOT the Duke!) isn't even killed by him, he pulls a Danganronpa 2 and gets Doleful to kill him instead! And he never once suspects Doleful, despite Doleful also technically meeting the requirements of being the person he's trying to hunt down. Holy shit mate. How do you get owned so bad by three teenagers. It's so sad but so funny.
Wait when is this? This is before they repaired the elevator, so it must be as soon as they made it into the research building. Or while the group is resting.
Don't worry, I'm definitely going to kill the Duke, he says, to the Duke's face,
Doleful manipulating him using his family is absolutely cruel (and why I love him as a BBEG)
That more than explains the double murder appearance of the fifth case. The Duke's logic is that they can't reveal that the Duke's victims are also technically murderers too, as that would unleash total chaos which the DA is trying to avoid. Which is why to keep his connection secret, double murder suicide murder.
I hate these two (affectionate)
???? what is this
epilogue. epilogue
oh shit it's old man jenkins from the "i think hraesvelgr ffxiv is an asshole actually explained through violent fictional suburban drama" essay i wrote a few weeks ago
wato you look different. you have glasses now
awwwww this is how he looks now that he's all grown up.
the fact that he's calling his group the 'ideal detectives' makes me think that maybe they split off from vidocq's detective alliance? which would make sense, the true final boss was basically bureaucracy and they won by revealing that all of the murders were double suicides to the public... which would make a LOT of people angry including vidocq.
is this a sequel hook. it had better not be i do not want to hang on the expectation of a sequel for 5 years
Watching the ProE post game scenes...

What if the prison trio met with Team Free Will 1.0? I’m interested mostly in the differences in morals, but also in the idea of some designs that I’ve seen for c!Sam and c!Quackity. c!Sam, from the designs I’ve seen, looks not even close to human, and that’s without the centaur idea some people choose to add. c!Quackity has been drawn with wings a lot. I’m just curious because I’m not very good at analyzing characters, and you’re amazing at it.
Funnily enough, I think all of TFW would like c!Sam at first glance. Sam W. would see an earnest and somewhat awkward engineer trying to do his best under difficult circumstances; Dean would see a righteous man; Cas would see someone well-meaning fumbling in the dark.
c!Sam has the potential to really appeal to Dean’s sensibilities—under the right set of circumstances (ie circumstances where c!Sam is agreeing with Dean), I think Dean would find c!Sam’s combination of zero tolerance moral extremism and righteous self-martyrdom very sympathetic. Dean and c!Sam would get along like a house on fire when Dean’s in a mood to lock up or murder Jack, for instance.
But this could go over the edge very quickly. I think Sam W. would realize pretty swiftly the type of person c!Sam is, and oppose him vehemently as soon as c!Sam tips his hand or gets a liiittle too gung ho about righteous violence. Dean would be harder to convince, depending on circumstances, again—easy to convince if c!Sam targets someone he likes, less so if otherwise. Cas would soon find his superiority grating, and the abuse of power disgusting.
Dean would like Quackity instantly. Sure, this kid is trying too hard to look tough, but Dean’s been there. In general, Dean probably wouldn’t be terribly phased by Quackity’s violence; I think it wouldn’t be hard for Dean to be convinced that Quackity only tortures people who deserve it, for information that’s important. Cas would imitate Dean and try gamely to laugh along with Quackity’s jokes. Sam W would hate him instantly: the machismo, the way Dean likes him, the falseness.
Dean would loathe c!Dream. c!Dream’s cavalier, smug, ~reasonable~ villain persona is perfect to make Dean despise him on sight. It would be even worse if Dean has managed to hear stories from other members of the server first. Kill the fucker. Some people are way past saving.
I feel like Cas would guiltily like c!Dream, admiring and sympathizing with his attitude while condemning him. Cas has done worse to try to preserve his own home, hasn’t he? He gets it. He’s been taught better, of course. But he gets it.
Sam W would look at c!Dream and see the damage and his stomach would twist. He’d hear the plan to destroy death and he’d think about his soulless self and he’d feel sick. He’d look at the prison and look at the scars and hear a cell, a Warden, a torturer, alone, one year. He’d listen to c!Dream laughing about how it’s his home, and how he and c!Sam are friends now anyway, and he’d understand. Honestly, Sam W would probably try to pull off some variety of dewy eyed speech, “I’ve been where you are, I know how it feels to be hopeless, this isn’t the answer, you can make peace, you don’t have to keep doing unethical science” etc etc.
It wouldn’t work, of course. He and c!Dream don’t have the history. It would just make him angry.

FantasyInvader reply on the Edelstans going full circle on “translation=making Edelgard look bad” is the first time I heard of Treehouse hating Rhea, but it honestly makes sense now that I think about it.
Oh,
TBH I ranted a few years ago about the localisation and the direction Cherami Leigh received to dub Rhea, and, uh, well...
I don't think she hates the character or anything, she just goes with the direction given, but man what a load of crap Pat told her lol - she made an interview where she says Pat told her Rhea has a hair-trigger temper (tfw she only loses her shit when you try to reenact the genocide she escaped when she was younger - but nah it's just a hair trigger temper) and how Rhea "just is", something we know is bullcrap because she's the same person who's insecure about "bothering" people if she eats with them, Rhea isn't the assured person she tries to pretend to be, but Pat dgaf.
Regardless of the meaning of the quotes, if you have time to spare of the feh wiki, just compare the delivery of lolcalised!Rhea and Inoue!Rhea (her Halloween alt is telling), they're like night and day - but in the game proper, we have the fe datamine website !
Short story : Lolcalised!Rhea isn't supposed to emote bar being AnGrY, monotone (that line where she worries about Aelfie's plans in the DLC could be swapped with her reading the notice of aspirin) or have 2 lines where she's relaxed (billy supports) - Jp!Rhea is allowed to be upset, to mourn, to be worried, cheerful etc etc.
I've already complained a lot about FE16's lolcalisation, cultural bias at play and wanting to soften a certain character, but to exaggerate only a little bit, I have the feeling Rhea was portrayed in the lolcalisation (and not localisation, the lol is very important) as the ultimate bogeyman of the "dictatorial evil leader of an organised religion who is also a zealot and does not tolerate dissent because she's religious" which has...
idk, but serious issues because again, if you are supposed to localise a product you cannot edit something red to be something violet and sparkly and if the shitstorm (that ultimately came from a misunderstanding!) about "creative localisation" is any indication, more and more people are fed up with lolcalisations altering the meaning, not of a word, but of a game to suit their own agendas.
Oh, and not specifically tied to Rhea but in a way it is because it adopts Supreme Leader's prop a ganda words :
A friend earlier noticed that the NoA official website - where you can buy the game (digital version) - adverstises Fodlan as a land controlled by the Church of Seiros. Oddly (lel) enough, this "controlled by the Church of Seiros" crap of a tidbit doesn't appear in the japanese website, and even in the european ones!
I don't believe we got another version compared to the Treehouse version - even if at times, the french script is closer to the japanese one and at times they come up with their own bullshit - but there is a point to be said that in a certain part of the world, the game was advertised in a way that kind of fit a certain's characters POV, something that doesn't exist in the rest of the world. And it's in that same "part of the world" that the person who directed the VA for the eng dub, well, worked and directed said VA.
So what, is it some great conspiracy or something else? lol no.
Did Treehouse told NoA "don't worry, I've got this game, I'll localise it just close your eyes and market it that's all" and they went bonkers? And for some reason whoever was in charge at the NoE branch didn't close their eyes (maybe half-closed) so we have a weird mix between the two? idk.

Thinking about Rime and MC at the point of their friendship when Rime can finally admit to himself that MC is not the cause of his problems and that the two of them can be good friends, and that after everything, Sage and Anisa and Felix will need some time to work through all of their experiences with him pre- and post- death.
Rime needing comfort and only being able to find that in MC. Him appearing in MC’s room, feeling too embarrassed and ashamed to explain why he’s there. But MC has forgiven him, if you can say that. They know the look on his face, they feel the energy radiating off of him. They’ve been there before. Hopelessly alone.
MC wraps their arms around his waist, wordlessly. He doesn’t reciprocate, just stands there, but then they back up to sit on the bed and pull him on top of them, resting his head in the crook of their neck. They rub his back with one hand and tangle the other in his hair at the base of his neck.
Rime is angry. He’s done nothing to deserve this kindness from them. They’re doing this on purpose, aren’t they? To show him how morally superior they are? But he’s exhausted. So tired of making a villain out of MC. It’s sad, but he begins to accept that maybe they’re just a better person than him. Whatever. He needs this. He presses his face into them harder and lets them hold him.
If this is the love he can get, it’s enough for now. Maybe it will be enough for him always.
What . why would u do this /Pos. THIS IS SO REAL? idek what to say like,, underneath it all rime's rlly just...Hurt and Alone. tfw rime turned into an enemy and now that he isn't,, insecurity and fear take over because He doesn't Know how to Fit or be something different. he doesn't get the jokes and references they make, his suggestions are met with awkwardness, they ask "do you remember..." and it's something from before he died. the idea of him not being able to turn to felix (Yet) and his one choice being the person that has the most reason to hate/mistrust him. because at least there's no pre-death version of him in their head. maybe the person who'll understand me most is the one that's faced the least/worst of me
this is a tangent but that's soo something that connects rime and felix all u angsty mfs reminding me felix is never listened to or appreciated the way he should be. physically there and Yet. Different? rime's loneliness vs felix's ,, same spectrum . mc being the one they turn to because they see them for who they are and only wants to help them to grow rather than change . i'm gonna melt into the floor

I haven’t watched the new episode and I haven’t finished any of these kinktober requests bc Mother Nature has been curb stomping me.
But uuuuh here have some random stuff, mostly me talking about some Bleach OCs, below.
Tumblr media
This song = Mayuri Kurotsuchi. I mean, just look at the album cover even??? The colors of her eyes and hair??? Mayuri’s emotional intelligence is definitely here, at this level.
Tumblr media
I started actually workshopping an OC (compliments of this pic and the following to picrew obv). Fairly restrained person who goes down the Maggots Nest to R&D pipeline. She doesn’t have a solid name yet, but I do know her zanpakuto is a giant centipede who cries when she doesn’t visit enough.
Although she does suffer from R&D morality disease, she comes off fairly normal in quick, then get back to work small talk. She doesn’t have ambitions outside of the R&D anymore. The whole getting locked up for not doing anything but showing potential to do something kind of killed it.
Part of the coding crew for the semi-organic technology. So part computer coding, part surgical expertise. Largely attempting to translate the two into a cleaner mesh. Highly interested in how different reishi & spiritual pressure (of different species) can make this process easier, but halted by lots of red tape.
Has come to realize that with surveillance spanning farther and larger after the war, that she is now also playing IT to many shinigami who can barely work a soul phone. Absolutely soul crushing work. Especially considering the work she WANTS to be doing.
Really, really loves insects but switches her accessories to more traditionally cute things (like bears) when she goes outside of R&D. Not good at following lines of conversation she hasnt prepped for. Wretched at generating small talk while doing IT calls and will just lead the conversation back to task at hand.
Glazes the fact that she’s part of Gotei 13 out of her mind and lets R&D be the wall she can’t look over. This makes the IT work even more harrowing.
Copes largely by throwing herself into hobbies & the work she likes but also does do drugs! Not for fun or anything because she is too socially lame for that but she eventually finds that other people are super down to do drugs with her. This is the entry point where she starts develop actual relationships with people. Tfw you need experimental drugs to loosen up and have a laugh with people. My precious girl is so bad with people ❤️
She inspired me to workshop ANOTHER OC, a friend. And also a large reason she ended up in the maggots nest:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Shut up no I don’t think girls with short hair and glasses is the height of character design this is just a wild coincidence)
Worked in a tea house in the Noble Quarters and quickly became drawn to Tokinada for his blatant cruelty toward nobleman, who she desperately wished to be blatantly cruel to as well. Due to their own cruelty. You know the drill.
Tossed in the maggots nest for *TV static* and got out once Tokinada has climbed ranks enough to pull her out, and almost got herself killed after she threw a fit about having to join Gotei 13. Because Tokinada is a controlling POS. But OC wants a sliver of control herself, too much to partways. And what other choice does she have? Commit herself to being a shinigami? Go work somewhere in the rukongai? As if!
She makes every excuse to tag along with above OC on IT. She’s much better at small talk but is also just really annoying and needling. She always has her I Want To Know All About You mask on. It’s the only way she keeps from fucking losing it.
Her zanpakuto is a goblin shark, half stuck in a half sealed shrine underwater. She hates shinigami and was drawn to OC for that reason. Also controlling, demanding, and lords her support over OC if conditions aren’t fulfilled. No idea why her zanpakuto hates shinigami yet, but I do know that she puts her entire sharkussy into evaluation fights because the opponents are always fellow shinigami (duh). Also pretends she can taste what OC eats and demands a diet of fish and crustacean. I thought that was funny.
I also think it’s funny that I know so much about her zanpakuto but to be fair she’s a huge personality, very mysterious, and enshrouded in anger. *boops her smooth snout*
I like the idea of a zanpakuto seeking out a personality they feel they can take advantage of. The sword souls need more insane personalities that blur the line of sword and shinigami imo.
Tumblr media
And finally, the last OC, who escaped being dragged into the maggots nest bc she is just not that dangerous nor smart by the standards of Central 46. Does know above two OCs very well.
Real simple girl. Loves having a roof over her head and a warm meal in her belly. Doesn’t care how she needs to accomplish that.
Great with people. Great with lying to people. Great with justifying violence against people. As long as she has a roof, a meal, and a cigarette (or any vice if she can’t have that), it’s all good.
Gets upset when people think she and first OC are related (bc of vaguely same hair and skin color. They don’t look alike apart from that). First OC died to get here and this one was born in the Rukongai. She takes a lot of pride in making it from then to now. She also holds a huge grudge if someone asks if they’re related. Monumental. Good luck winning shit in most gambling establishments within the Seireitei.
Runs a lot of gambling gigs for shinigami. Never for nobility any more. The money isn’t worth it. Promises a lot of things and only delivers sometimes. Has her hooks in Hisagi, for example, because he’s a sucker. She gets most of her human goods from filched pockets in the rukongai (s/o to the mind of Pirenja, im pretty sure for the black market post for this idea). She isn’t above pestering first OC to make something she’s promised at R&D. Rarely pays back the favor.
Runs a bootleg Urahara Shoten with Urahara’s blessing because he thinks it’s funny, he could use the extra storage, and Ururu really wanted to help running something in soul society. It’s called Ururu Shoten but everything else looks exactly the same as the human world counter part. This is how she knows a lot of big names.
OC and Ururu make an oddly good team and she unfortunately has a soft spot for the kid. To balance this out, she regularly tries to fuck over the business in ways that she can wriggle free from.
She’s a shinigami in name only. Doesn’t have a zanpakuto spirit to speak of. Barely in the ranks. Barely scrapes by her duties. In it for the room and board and connections.
Very funny how many people assume she has nothing going for her based on this. The amount of ppl taken aback when she shows up as the host of a card game is gargantuan.
She can not comprehend a day doing nothing, despite her love of simple pleasures. If she isn’t rubbing her little hands together and buzzing around a new shit scheme, she is listless.
If this has taught me anything, it’s that I’m horrible at committing to names. But uuuuuuuh, hope you like my gals.

> Be me
> Decide to play Sims to do house designs to indulge in house architecture and interior design hyperfixation I've had since I began my 20s.
> All the furniture sucks ass, and the pre-made houses are terrible and you don't know how to build one yourself. Go in to Sims Modding rabbit hole to get furniture and houses that actually looks good.
> Get derailed and download so many quality of life and story mods that Sims has a PLOT now.
> Leave my house file as a sandbox. Make a Sims story about my life as a memory exercise because PTSD gave me memory problems. Also helps me get a better idea of the drama that went down before I was born or too young to understand. Lays out the plan in an MS word document.
> Make my parents Sims as young, I'm not born yet, have them live in a small apartment like they actually did before they had me. Then go find old photo albums to learn what my grandfathers looked like so I can make their Sims, do the same for subsequent relatives and use the Slice of Life and Drama mods to set the relationships according to what I was told over the years.
> Paternal grandfather actually is angry all the time and screaming at my Aunts and Dad Sims, true to his real-life likeness. Those mods were too realistic. This is not funny.
> Some vampire shows up and bites Mom Sim, I freak out, I make Dad Sim scream at him and chase him out. I google and it turns out Vlad will bite one of your sims one week into gameplay as a way to introduce the vampire concept to the players
> Get so shocked by this that I tell it to Desi Tumblr Clique on Discord.
> They find the idea utterly hilarious for some reason, and make jokes about Vlad messing with my family and having a Vampire Uncle once My Sim is born.
> End up actually liking the idea. WTF Brain I thought it was just a joke. Download the "Control NPCs" mod and change Vlad's looks and personality to fit the bill.
> Construct an "Enemies to Babysitters" narrative from whole cloth. Have Vlad go from hated neighbourhood menace to beloved family friend and actually attentive parent as years pass.
> Vlad is scary enough to keep nasty, money-minded relatives in check, be a voice of reason when Mom Sim goes Helicopter Parent on my ass and threatens to bleed Dad Sim dry unless he puts the Jack Daniels down.
> Turns out Sims Bullies and Sims Teachers are also less likely to bully if Sim You can just sic a vampire on them if they go too far.
> Vampires are also crazy good at maths due to their love of numbers, Vlad tutoring me brings my GPA up. Meanwhile in real life 6th-9th had me going to a string of useless tuition centres with little to no results.
> TFW Vlad's introduction has created an alternate reality and your real life has become the Dark Timeline.
> I just wanted to build houses, now I made Desi Family Drama meets Vampires and Unresolved Parental Issues.
> How did this get so out of control?

tfw someone announces they are going to boycott v0lks for making HP dolls and you look at their account and it’s full of n3ndoroids, when Good Smile C0mpany has made SO many HP nendoroids and has made more off the IP than V0lks ever could. Why do you forgive GSC but not V0lks? Just admit you want a reason to shit on v0lks for no reason. I’m disappointed in the collab and hate HP too but acting like they are now personally funding everything JK stands for is brainless behaviour.

‘Tiny’ meta on the guitars in Roswell New Mexico
Because I hate this show and it’s dumb.
So recently I was trying to figure out what kind of guitars Alex has, for fic reasons, and I had the brilliant idea to look at both of the guitars in 1x06 and the guitar Michael plays in the Wild Pony at the end of 1x13.
Unfortunately for me, you, and everyone, what I discovered is that the guitar Michael steals from Alex when they initially meet is the same guitar that he plays in the bar. (A Läg guitar, if you are interested, likely an occitania model of some sort. Interesting historical footnote: Neil Diamond also play(s/ed) this brand.)
For those interested, there are a total of five guitars show in the series so far: Alex’s Läg, the guitar Michael has in the photograph from 1x02(likely the same guitar Rosa is playing in the pilot), the guitar Alex gives to Michael in the toolshed in 1x06, and the two in Alex’s house in season 2(2x05+2x11).
Tumblr media
So my meta/headcanon here is that when Alex leaves for Iraq, he gives Maria the guitar for safekeeping - since it’s likely he would know it wasn’t safe at his house. She keeps it, sometimes using it at the Pony for performances and as a backup guitar for impromtpu jam sessions. The only time we see it at the Pony there is also a drum kit set up.
During 1x13, Michael tells Isobel that he’s had the realization that his relationship with Alex isn’t healthy, that lately it ‘just hurts’ and ‘feels like a crash landing’; to which Isobel gives him the advice ‘Maybe Max is right. Maybe it’s time we stop looking back and start looking forward.’
For me this is a big reason why he goes to the Wild Pony later, rather than meeting Alex and talking about their entangled past together. Michael is trying to move forward.
And just like Alex will in Season 2, the best way for him to start to do that is through music. (Which...tfw your coping strategies and healing rituals are the same....COSMIC.)
Now that his hand is healed (however non-consensual the act itself) Michael actually has that chance to try and heal himself. It isn’t the magic remedy Max hoped his healing powers would be. (’To heal this, you’ll have to reopen the wound in your mind. All the pain you’ve hidden there.)
To really heal from grief, one of the key components is that you have to let go of the expectations and hopes that you wanted from whatever isn’t possible anymore. And Season 1 has a really interesting progression showing Michael starting on that journey. And in this moment in the finale he has the same chance Alex will get in Season 2: to say goodbye to the person he was and the relationship that could have been and all the hurt that he’s held onto because of that, and start trying to move forward.
So, Michael goes to Maria at the Wild Pony, and sees The Guitar. The same guitar that he ‘borrowed’ from Alex eleven years ago that started them on the path to where they are now.
He wants to be with Maria, he agrees with Maria that they need to talk. But first, he has to say goodbye to what he’s been holding onto with Alex.
By playing the same guitar that brought them together.
(The way he looks at the guitar in this moment reads so much more tender to me than just him being able to play music again. Yes, this is something he’s been hindered from doing for ten years, but Maria doesn’t seem overly surprised to hear Michael playing. She is only surprised when she notices his hand is healed. Moreso, I think that - especially since in the in-between scene is Liz talking to Rosa’s grave, wishing for all the things Rosa never got to experience - that this is Michael connecting with his grief in a way he hasn’t been able to, and reckoning with his own hopes for the past.)
Tumblr media
Like he’s momentarily transported somewhere else.
And I don’t think this is coincidence. There are multiple guitars and to use *this one* - the one that started it all - feels significant.
It feels like a signifier that Alex still is and always will be an important part of Michael’s life. Even if he’s playing this guitar in Maria’s presence, even if he in this moment is choosing Maria, Alex is always, *always* going to be a part of him. (And we could do a whole *other* meta on how music is the language through which Michael and Alex - oh wait I already did that. But, regardless, music is a large part not just of how Michael finds peace, but how he connects to himself. And Alex is always going to be a part of that.)
(You could, if you chose, also see this as yet more foreshadowing of the three of them having a role in each other’s lives and healing journey, or you could not, but the fact that it is *Alex’s* guitar that Michael plays I think is undeniabley significant.)
Even if the relationship that he has with Alex right now hurts, Michael isn’t throwing the whole thing away. He might be forming a new relationship with it, but what he has with Alex is...well...you know.

Season 12 of SPN but Better
This is my rewrite of s12 in which the main changes are after Lucifer knocks up Kelly he fucks off back to the cage, the BMOL are actually scary, and the narrative finally interrogates how people who aren’t human are treated. Note: I use monster and non-human interchangeably here. (Thank you @autisticandroids for your help with this post.)
The season starts off the same. Sam is perhaps a little more suicidal during his kidnapping, having just lost Dean and fresh off of having to be around Lucifer.
Sam’s myriad of mental health issues pop up here and there throughout the season, after Lucifer and dealing with what Lady Bevell did to him. He does his best to make sure none of this is seen by his family, but Dean eventually figures it out.
At least two episodes where the A Plot is Cas and Crowley investigating a case.
“American Nightmare” is just the start of a theme we see throughout the season of Sam bonding with monsters/non-humans/the ‘other’. He becomes a resource for them and in turn connecting with them helps him feel better about himself.
Cutting the Hitler episode because that was seriously just… :l
Instead Aaron comes back and it’s just a fun episode
Samantha Smith is amazing as Mary but please just take a moment to imagine “Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox” if Mary’s actor was actually ~28
At the end of “LOTUS” Lucifer goes back in the cage
The events of First Blood take place over two episodes so we can gets stuff like:
Cas and Mary hunting together
Cas and Mary (separately and together) threatening people they think can help them find Sam and Dean
Dean and Sam (Sam especially) losing their grip on reality whilst in confinement
Instead of the American hunters largely rejecting the BMOL many of them embrace them. Mostly thanks to the weapons they freely provide. The BMOL also import their idea of “Hey shouldn’t ALL monsters be dead actually.” This becomes a serious issue as we get to see that there are plenty of monsters who aren’t hurting anyone, but are now being hunted.
At the end of “The Raid” we get our first foreshadowing of what else the BMOL are doing when that hunter, who betrayed them to the vampires, is taken to an onsite facility full of various monsters in cages.
The boys have a case that ends up being hunters who fucked around by going after innocent monsters, and found out. It’s a not at all subtle allegory about two monster siblings, where the older sister killed a pair of hunters to protect her little brother. This is the tipping point where Dean finally has a major mental shift in how he views and treats monsters.
There’s also a case where they look into weird supernatural phenomena and it turns out to be the result of hunters disrupting completely (super)natural stuff. It’s an episode about a supernatural creature that has zero interest in killing humans, they’re just strange and otherworldly, and hunters persecuting them has caused a major local disruption in the world.
Instead of the BMOL having their students fight one another to death, they have them kill monster children. We get a flashback of Mick killing a crying werewolf boy.
After Mick has his change of mind about what the BMOL are doing they don’t kill him. Instead he is taken to the facility (seen previously at the end of “The Raid”). This is where the BMOL experiment on monsters, as well as dispose of humans by using them as test subjects. There’s a scene where we see that hunter from before get injected with something, go through a weird mutation, and dies.
The timeline has to be shifted around a little, but instead of Cas being off in heaven trying to find something to find Kelly (which lead nothing to the narrative and went nowhere) the BMOL just make it seem like that’s what he did, while really they have him locked up.
Their reasoning being that if a nephilim is going to be born they want to know all they can about angels, but also they just genuinely don’t see anyone who isn’t human as a person so why not experiment on them. The whole experience is really dehumanizing.
Ketch is there, and I would like to remind everyone about the line, “I do enjoy an angel,” which is a) haunting, and b) implies Ketch has dealt with angels before.
Remember how in “Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets” Cas can immediately identify that angel blade as being Benjamin’s? Ketch has a few and taunts Cas about what he may or may not have done to their owners.
They torture Cas/do a lot of medical experimentation. The torture is “extremely horny for no reason, shave your chest father of two it’s fanservice time”-y (thank u autisticandroids).
On the brighter side, Mick and Cas bond during their captivity because Cas deserves to have a friend who isn’t a Winchester. Also go ask @autisticandroids about this.
We see Mick question his long held beliefs about monsters and grow more as a character. He also gets turned into something, perhaps a Shapeshifter.
During this time we get to know various other monsters being held and undergoing experimentation.
Instead of Mary finding out Mick is dead she finds out about the facility. Same thing happens as in canon where they brainwash her. This time she’s just killing hunters who won’t fall in line with the BMOL, instead of all American hunters (which I feel made no sense).
Garth comes back at some point because of course he does. Why have an entire season about people who want to eradicate all monsters and then not bring back their one friend who would be most affected by this? His whole family and community are at risk of death if the BMOL have their way.
“Twigs and Twines and Tasha Banes” happens next season because I want Max and Alicia to be part of the attack on the BMOL and it’s better for their narrative if they disappear for a while before coming back after that episode. Instead they show up in a standard motw episode to drive home the fact that it’s fucked up to automatically consider witches to be evil.
One of the narrative points would be how the BMOL tolerance of witches is extremely conditional on them only using their magic for them, and the presence of the BMOL in America has led to an increasingly hostile environment for the Banes family.
The people the Winchesters recruit to help them attack the BMOL facility are a mix of monsters they’ve helped out, and hunters who respect them/didn’t fall in line/have noticed their friends getting murdered.
The end result is the beginning of a new relationship between hunters and non-humans.
It might be odd after a season long narrative about not demonizing people just because they’re not human, to have the Winchesters still be all “Let’s forcibly abort this fetus,” but, with the added element of Sam dealing with his Lucifer trauma all season, I think it would make sense to have Dean be in extra Protective Mode™. That combined with Cas, fresh off of having to be rescued and feeling even worse about himself, decides to take the Kline issue into his own hands. The narrative follows along with canon. Since Lucifer isn’t around it’s AU!Michael who kills Cas and Mary tackles back through the rip.
Alternatively if you hate that and want something more domestic you can picture the following: with their newfound POV TFW rescues Kelly and takes her back to the bunker, promising they’ll take care of her child.

Is it me do jtwo look extra focused on making us believe that the magic between jtwo isn't gone? I noticed every answer is turned into brothers being codependent like it's a good thing. Jensen said he hated soulless Sam because he missed being with real Sam and JP said he hated Amelia part bcoz Sam wouldn't leave Dean to rot in purgatory. Okay maybe he has a point. But even the panel was all jtwo love with raindrops and whiskers and kittens.
I don't know but it felt too good to be true. Maybe they have worked things out but still. They were all over each other as if their memories were wiped and they were put into this brothers only scripted pr drama.
And It's like suddenly they don't remember the show had found family too. Cas and Jack not even brought up. Cas is forgotten just bcoz he confessed his love? I don't understand what we or Cas did wrong to be neglected like that. I don't remember the last time they mentioned found family or tfw. It's like they all have forgotten the show didn't just run on the brothers storyline. I am a little hurt. It's good that they worked things out. But it's sad that it seems like the show is been pushed into brothers only now that all other aspects are done and dusted. I hope the reboot does some justice but I have too little hope even on Jensen.
Bro I'm still figuring if this is w*incest or Heller ask and I haven't watched any j2 panel so I'm not aware things you're saying in the first half my knowledge of j2 panel is only based on a few gifs that comes around the dash from different panel. Well, I have a really strong opinion about about the whole pr thing if there is any and j2 being nice to make peeps believe they are good friends but I don't think this fandom is ready to hear my opinion but you bought it up so I'll say it anyway
Okay so the thing is there are certain people in life you're just stuck with for whatever reason and no matter how much tantrums they throw or how self centred they are or how hard they are to deal with you just have to tolerate them cause you're stuck with them and that can be your colleague or your friend or anyone in whole world. I know everyone is not perfect and I'm not saying they are all bad they have a good side too, they could be nice and fun to hang out with but sometimes they do or say certain things that are completely opposite of your ethics or sometimes they act in certain way that it gets very difficult for you to tolerate them. And no offense people but I think j*red is that person in Jensen's life. Like 15 yrs of being brothers on a show now he can't just ends things with j*red or go out and be mad at him publically but cause they both celebrity they have to carry the whole brother thing on and that friendship too. For some people j*red must be fun and hilarious and nice person all that but pay attention to those j2m panels where j*red makes fun of misha and Jensen refuses to laugh, those are the moments when you'll see a glimpse of Jensen who's in no position to fight, sure he doesn't agree with what's going on but he can't fight about it either cause he's stuck with j*red. In conclusion pr team or not they both have to keep things going like everything is normal and Jensen has to tolerate j*red no matter what he do.
The found family and team free will topic doesn't come up as much in j2 panel is cause people asking the question are mostly the w*ncesties and their questions will revolve around Sam and Dean that's why Jackles and the other guy answer everything in that way and maybe that's why they bring everything down to brothers cause they don't have anything else to say.
If it makes you feel any better spn's legacy is destiel so Cas will never not be forgotten and keeping j2 aside misha and Alex and other cast do bring up found family topic so we're getting enough content and serotonin from where it counts so that's a win I guess

Unrelated to evil tfw love triangle but what besides evildeancasnatural are the supernaturals you are watching? Is institutionnatural its own thing or is that just a rewrite? What are some supernaturals that exist outside the ones you’re watching?
the primary supernatural i am watching, more than evildeancasnatural or even regular ol’ destiel natural, is deangenderstudiesnatural.
dean winchester appeals to me as the ULTIMATE closet narrative and, broader than that, as an extremely compelling tragedy about the trauma of masculinity as a disease inflicted on both self and others. like, it really is that simple. this is the thing about spn, above all else, that’s compelling to me. like, i love cas, and i have an intense emotional connection to him, and in a sort of.... fannish? context? where i decontextualize and play with characters for fun? cas appeals to me the most because he is easy for me. dean is too complex for me to play with without worrying that i will break him, and he is too intensely tragic for me to WANT to play that much. this is why a lot of my casposting is more on the fun side and a lot of my deanposting is more on the analytical side. because i like to think about dean, yes, but i need some distance.
if we’re talking about actual things that i pay attention to in my supernatural, and not necessarily stuff i think about, the second supernatural that i’m watching, still actually above destielnatural, is..... funnynatural. like, i like it when spn is stupid and fun. i will forgive a character or episode almost anything if i think they/it are funny. this is why i’m such a big fan of the late seasons, or, one of the reasons: i think spn SHOULD be dumb. i HATE when it’s serious. like, for example, ketch annoyed me until the time when he tried to lie about being his own evil twin, the absolute funniest thing a character on spn has ever done, and now i like him. like, for me spn can should and does operate primarily on rule of funny. like i do occasionally enjoy a bit of serious spn, i like very serious dean gender episodes, or very serious destiel episodes, and sometimes even very serious episodes about other shit! but most of the time i would rather there be jokes. not that the jokes always land! there are plenty of absolutely rancid attempts at humor across spn’s long runtime. and not that jokes never fuck up worldbuilding in frustrating ways. i can’t think of an example but i’m sure there is one. but i like spn to be silly, most of the time.
the third supernatural i am watching is OF COURSE destielnatural with a (not exclusive by any means!) focus on evil deancasnatural.
and here is a list of other themes (some interrelated, some not) and concepts that are in my brain when i think about or watch supernatural:
- dean always being right
- the erotics and eroticization of violence; supernatural is about sex
- angels and heaven and All That; i wish supernatural had institutions; i wish supernatural had interpersonal politics; institutions are impossible on supernatural because supernatural is a libertarian fantasy, interpersonal politics are impossible on supernatural because only dean can truly be a person
- the dynamics of abuse
- worldbuilding on a very watsonian level: how to make this world work, how to expand our vision of it beyond this insular two brothers against the universe viewpoint
- deviance; why must we, over and over again, kill this monster for the crime of its own existence
- supernatural should be an ensemble cast show; i love [xyz side character]
- late season supernatural as a parody of supernatural or a show about supernatural, even before the chuck stuff
and here are some supernaturals that i know other people watch that i do NOT watch, even though i enjoy watching other people watch them:
- faithnatural; supernatural is about the reverence of the authorfathergod and its loss. i’m really not interested in that one because there’s sort of..... two paths you can take? in reinterpreting supernatural to make it less of a mess? one path is to make the world more fantastic, the other is to make it less so. faithnatural wishes to make the world more fantastic, a world in which the concept of a god worth worshipping is compatible with the worldbuilding of supernatural, a world in which angels are more than what they seem. but i want to make the world less fantastic. i want a sociological reading. i want to know how these people live in a society. i want the material conditions. i would like to hear about the logistics of monster grocery shopping, how many bits of godstiel stained glass exist and what people think about them, how normal society is affected by the increased number of murders and disappearances caused by the widespread existence of monsters. this makes a supernatural where things are more, rather than less, than what they seem, unappealing to me. i don’t think these two things are necessarily incompatible but for me they are. i don’t think a world in which god is unequivocally real is the appropriate world in which to tell a story about faith. maybe it’s because i am an atheist.
- americanatural; supernatural is about america. this theme is fascinating when other people look at it and i love to read posts but it simply does not, rustle my jimmies, as it were, on my own.
- sammynatural; sorry samgirls i recognize your efforts but he’s not my scene, i’m a deangirl through and through. i begin to care about him in the later seasons but not until then
- brothernatural; i’m interested in the winchester brothers’ relationship as it pertains to their own individual characters, but i don’t, say, have specific episodes i like to rewatch to feel emotions about the brothers, or stuff like that. maybe it’s because i am an only child. but i think their relationship was NEVER the driving force of the show for me, dean’s damage was. and the brothers’ relationship is part of dean’s damage but it’s only one part, out of many.

The Mandalorian Chapter 12 rewatch thoughts
- I would like to thank them for keeping in din’s harried yet triumphant ‘hAH!!’ when he gets the explosives to stick to gideon’s ship in the ‘hey remember when this happened last season’ section, that was a nice gesture from the showrunners to me personally, I assume
- this episode actually helped me find more enjoyment in the last one, because it’s such a nice reassurance that even though they’re pulling in more stuff from other star wars media this show won’t suddenly stop being its own thing and mando won’t suddenly stop being himself and it’s very comforting to me somehow haha
- the small hesitation before din calls out “do you... do you have the wire?” lol lol lol he’s completely aware of the bizarreness of what he’s doing here but hey being alive is already so damn weird etc.
the softness of his voice the whole way through and the fact that he never, never blames the baby for not being able to do what shouldn’t really be asked of him in the first place, tho... ;____;
- the tiny exasperated head tilt din does when he realizes the hatch isn’t going to extend all the way fdslkfhasdlashfs
- din is looking down at the baby the entire time while greef talks to the mechanics ❤️❤️❤️
Tumblr media
(the baby seems pretty drawn to/excited to see greef again and mando seems to notice which is extremely cute. he’s becoming really good at tuning in with the kid)
he also greets cara baby first in much the same way as he does peli, like he knows what the main attraction here is lol, they do a very sweet bro nod at each other. god I wish gina carano wasn’t so terrible imagine if we could just have this BrOTP without hesitations :(
I think greef is actually a bit worried to begin with after seeing the ship, he sort of takes din in intently before he huffs a little laugh and grabs his arm. it must be a bit stressful to be his friend and not be able to see his expression right away when you worry something might be seriously wrong haha
- people are finally treating the baby like you would a real baby and it’s such a blessing, everyone talking and cooing at him and baby babbling back
(I wonder if greef has children of his own? he does have an undeniable air of experienced grandpa about him in this episode, it’s adorable)
- din does so much talking -- unprompted, even! -- these days, it truly is an embarrassment of riches
- capital E Emotional about this shot with IG-11 right behind din and cara inviting him into the school in front of him. some past carried with us into the future shit going on here
Tumblr media
IG-11′s legacy’s still got our back y’all :’) I swear to god if gideon blows up nevarro at some point I’m going to lose it
the ‘oh yeah?/that so?’ way din leans his head back after she says “wait until you see inside” is also amazing
- baby reaching out his hand like ‘can have?’ is so polite ;______; he takes after his father (including in the ‘fool me twice, I’ll fuck you up’ department haha. listen you get one chance to be cool about it and then no more mr nice mando/baby)
-
Tumblr media
go ahead, kid, make a fuss about it. who are you going to tell, huh? who’s going to believe you? you gonna tell them you got bested by a baby? a magic baby? no? that’s right. I took your dignity as easily as I took your macarons, there’s nothing you can do to change it, and now you gotta live with that. sweet dreams.
(this is a joke. the baby is not evil. I hate that I even have to specify this but I’ve seen some stupid shit in the tags in my time you guys haha)
- I can’t work out what anything on greef’s desk is supposed to be, but if that’s a computer it’s got to be older than even the razor crest lol
Tumblr media
- friends: din yes?
mando: din no, only repairs
friends: din yes please?
mando: ... [sigh] din yes
he truly has next to no defense against people he actually likes asking him for something huh lol. well a self care co-op mission clearly did him a world of good in this one at least it’s all fine
- “I’m starting to dehydrate, Boss” is an excellent line and delivered perfectly, I cackle every time (”You park your gills right there until I say otherwise” is a good runner up too)
- it’s so nice to see the small moments of communication between them in this one after mando was so out of sync with the team in the last one (and tbf those guys didn’t even try to give him any pointers at all, they really left him to flounder through the whole thing if you watch it carefully haha)
- the mythrol’s jacket still looks so comfy, I want one
- aaaaah the way din says “I don’t like this” is just so... hnnngh it’s perfect, there’s a vulnerability and openness to it for a moment. greef glances over at him like he hasn’t heard him sound like this before too, which just sells it even more
Tumblr media
u ok bro?
you know shit’s fucked up when din djarin expresses an emotion without even being forced to by circumstance (I think what I mean is that it’s actually really rare for him to state how he feels about something just to do it, usually his communication is more practically oriented, more along ‘I think this is the best cause of action because of a and b’ lines, or like when he tells omera he’s grateful it’s... more to inform her of it and make sure she knows than to express himself? but he’s starting to do it more with people he trusts now and it gets me in the heart? man I’m finding this hard to articulate let’s move on lol)
- I really, really wonder about pershing’s position in all of this. his plea for the child’s life did sound genuine -- he did try to guard him with his own noodly scientist body when he thought din was out to hurt him, remember -- but is that only because he knows he’s in deep shit himself without the blood the baby can give? is he maybe not quite cool with whatever gideon has him doing? (he does sound quite strained when he talks about the ‘body’ rejecting the transfusion and the ‘volunteer’ potentially suffering the same fate... hm.)
idk why I want there to be something redeemable in him so bad, maybe it’s just my weird yet enduring attachment to ladon radim in stargate atlantis messing with me they’re kind of similar in some ways (yeah don’t ask me I don’t know either sometimes the heart wants what it wants in ways reason can’t explain)
- tfw ur literally launching yourself across a pool of boiling lava because you’re Dad and your baby’s in danger T__________T he just does not stop running towards that kid for even a single second help
- there’s something so innocently pure and... old fashioned? about the scene with mythrol and greef screaming the entire time they drive off the cliff, it feels like something out of a movie from like three decades ago. that whole segment feels a bit like that, it’s just there to be fun and that’s okay sometimes
- every dog fight in every movie should have a baby nonchalantly snacking on a cookie in them, it elevates the experience immeasurably (he squishes his nose a little bit with the macaron when he misses his mouth at one point, which is more than anyone should be expected to bear honestly)
I love that even all fixed up again the razor crest groans and creaks like an old tired thing when din makes it flip to dive, he 100% did take out a bunch of ferraris in his stalwart morris minor of a spaceship and I treasure him
- there’s so much life and emotion in din’s voice here I can’t!!!! I simply can’t!!!! imagine if we get to hear him openly laugh one day, would I even survive it??!!!!
also the kid makes such pitch perfect ‘having my lil nose wiped and whining about it’ baby noises when din uses his cape to clean him up (din does turn the autopilot on before he turns around to deal with it, for those who, like me, worry about these things)
- between carson showing up and the stuff the droid talks about in the lesson they’re doing quite a bit of outer rim vs. core worlds theme building in this one, I wonder if this is going to ramp up more or what
- god but gideon’s theme SLAPS tho
he’s probably going to try to fuck up everything I love but you can’t fault him on the tunes he’s going to do it to

To be honest, after that last interview I’ve seen a lot of negativity on my dahsboard regarding Nopes and Fodlan in general and...
TFW I couldn’t join the salt fest earlier :’(
Did IS or KT work on Nopes?
“Yes”
Well, through that interview...
I know I’ve been racking IS over the coals lately, because I’m a filthy “elitist” and I still remember the Tellius, Magvel and Elibe eras and I deeply miss them. Even if we all hate how IS seem to fall on “tried’n’true” tropes like brainwashing (especially women) so it means a character #didnothingwrongitwasntthembutmagic -
That interview, about Nopes, tries to sell the “everyone has a point and valid reasons to fight” and...
I really thought more than I should have about a stupid shitpost project I wanted to post, but I realised it might leave a bad taste in some people’s mouths and I don’t want to make anyone feel ill at ease when shitposting about this “game” but - I thought that nonsense about a “civilizing mission” is now commonly accepted to be utter nonsense, and just a stupid leitmotiv to justify conquest, imperialism and, because those two always go along, racism.
The shitpost idea was to “replace” France in this with a certain Empire and copy-paste Faerghus, Leicester, Brigid, Dagda (but not the lizards, in an ideal world they are, “finally gone” from Fodlan) - but no, it’s a real poster that really existed and displayed a mentality that also existed during dark times, and if I can shitpost with Lion King memes, I won’t do the same with that thing.
But damn if I wasn’t expecting the FE series to take the “With 79600 Men France brings peace and the benefits of its civilisation to its 60 millions of indigens” 1931 propaganda seriously, or at least portray the person who support this “opinion” as someone who has a valid point of view, clashing “ideals” with the rest of their world.
Still, who am I talking about, Supreme Leader or Clout ?
“Yes”
Adrestia wants to bring its “reforms” and “enlightened” ideas about how the world should be beyond its frontiers - that shouldn’t exist in the first place because once upon a time Adrestia encompassed the entire continent so MAGA.
Clout? Wants to “free” Faerghus and its king from “antiquated” notions like chivalry, loyalty, devotion by conquering the land, nearly waltzing on the capital and killing a beloved benevolent figure.
And so...
Why is it suddenly an issue? I mean, I love games where people fight for “reasons” and not because we need a final boss else we can’t close the route, nope.
Beyond talking about games and the messages they convey - I expect more from this “conflict” than *shrug*, *memeshrug*, *sigh* and “okay okay let’s say I agree now just please shut up I don’t want to interact more than necessary with you”.
If the conflict is based on “irreconciliable ideals”, then why don’t we see those characters argue about say “ideals”? We only get a glimpse of it in AM, and then the topic switches to sandwiches because merchandising needs to sell and Shinon can’t make people pots of earl grey or half-naked cipher cards.
In Nopes? Everyone (sort of) agree that the “Rhea Piñata” is bad and they could just get rid of it, then nothing bad will happen.
Clout drinks a Kool-Aid off-screen and no one, after some “mandatory” eye raising from Judith, even asks explanations, nope.
Nopes erased Supreme Leader’s belief that non-humans shouldn’t rule over humans because they, as a race, have no regards for human life.
And Dimitri is hit the hardest with the *shrug* + *memeshrug*, not even voicing any complains about this kool-aid because, just, let’s get over with this nonsense.
So why are they fighting?
“No U” was already used in Nopes, so here they need a Deux Ex Machina and a lot of idiot plot balls to, say, ask Supreme Leader why she wants to conquer Fodlan and remove Rhea from the surface of the continent - no sir!
Why Dimitri doesn’t kill them both the second they’re out of space, because they’re trampling his country and killing his men for no reason?
We all laughed about “no U” and thought it was something exclusive to Supreme Leader because, well, Supreme Leader and marketing means she can’t be challenged - but it was actually in this verse’s DNA!
We don’t see Clout challenge Supreme Leader when she offers Kool Aid - he drinks it off-screen.
Dimitri doesn’t challenge Clout or Supreme Leader about their invasion of Faerghus - he evens sips Clout’s Kool Aid !
Where is Elincia “You cloak your desire to rule with pretty speeches, but it is petty avarice nonetheless!” to the two persons invading a third country for, uh, reasons, or “to civilise them”?
I know I’ve been talking a lot about this game as of lately, because imo it’s a mirror of what we could have, but in TS -
When three people argue about which path to choose, “sacrifice the few for the sake of the many”, “Bootstraps!” and “sacrifice the many for the sake of the few” - those three characters argue, and shout, and fight, and defend their opinions, and ARE challenged by, well, the characters supporting the other options.
In FE16 we had “no u” and “sandwiches”.
In Nopes we have “maybe I’ll stop chasing you and trampling your country if you stop running away teehee ~”
Dimitri accepted to shelter Rhea and the Church because they requested help? “Okay okay maybe you have a point maybe they’re bad and they should be gone”. Where’s the progression between “I’ll accept to help them because even if it means war with Adrestia - provided they weren’t MAGA’ing our way no matter what we did - because that’s the right thing to do, they helped us tremendouly in the past and now, so today, I’ll help them too” to “mkay Clout you’re maybe not wrong” ??
Back to this interview, it finally appeared clearly -
FE16 and Nopes - Fodlan - isn’t a traditional FE verse.
IS worked with KT to make FE16 and Nopes (maybe Nopes is more KT’s bby than IS’s).
Water’s wet, what of it?
From what I could read around, and from a friend who played more Musous games than I did - Musou games aren’t supposed to tell a story with a “complicated” or “serious” plot, it’s a beat them all where you combo randoms with the units you like the most. No earl grey, it’s just to have fun!
FEs... are T (or S?) RPGs, a story based type of games. There is a verse, characters, relationships between those characters, etc etc. Earl grey can exist, because characters are written in a way to make them “interesting” to the player who’s supposed to interact with them in their world.
So what is Fodlan? A Musou or a FE verse, or the worst of the two?
We have a conflict where people will always fight (FE?) so you have to pick a side (FE+Musou?) to see where/how the story is going to end (FE)?
But contrary to “traditional FE”, the characters in Fodlan leading the factions... don’t interact. There is no opposition between them à la Elincia v. Ludveck or even Chrom v. Gangrel, we only have “no u” or  “teehee~”.
Why?
Why ???
Because the 3 factions have to be different and refuse to side with each other, even if it is super artificial (FE16′s Gronder Battle v.2 says hi) ? And this artificial “opposition” is even more important than the plot? So even when a Red Emperor does Red Emperor things, for this reason we will still have 3 factions?
To still have the choice to pick “your faction” to “beat the others”?
FE16 tried to cook up and come with an explanation, even everyone hated Clout’s myopia in Gronder.
Nopes drops all pretenses, all leaders have “reasons” and their routes are just “their POV” about how to change things.
Even if those reasons are really reminiscent of Paris’s 1931 Colonial Exposition.
It wouldn’t be an issue if Nopes was an usual musou game (Ganon does Ganon things!) but since Nopes wants to be a FE game?
It is an issue. In FE Giffca roasts Ashnard, in FE, when Lundgren offers Kent a chance to surrender Lyndis to become one of his knights, Kent (tries to) kill him. When Nergal/The Black Fang ask Eliwood to abandon Ninian to them and they promise they will let him leave? Eliwood draws his sword.
No U doesn’t work. In FE, where those things are said, usually, it doesn’t work well because the Lord/Hero/someone you’re playing as gets rid of the person making those outrageous claims.
Ultimately, we’re left with people who have to fight against each other, but who can’t... really hold any animosity against each other, leaving the illusion of a posibility where they could have talked (and not warred... for an artificial reason). Does this feel foggy enough?
Tl ; Dr (because this is already long enough) : Sorry to Pat, but FE16 (and Fodlan?) has always been thought as a nod to FE4 and Belhalla’s Academy, i.e. how Sigurd, Quan and Eldingan used to go to the same school together and became friends. And how tragic it is that they have to fight against each other.
However, FE4 built up this conflict, and... Quan sided with Sigurd.
In FE Fodlan? People oppose each other for... reasons that aren’t built upon and we’re supposed to be sad that they fight each other? Why? Did we hear about past history between them when they were friends? Or saw it on-screen? Why should it be a tragedy?
FE16 tried to give an answer, and it wasn’t convincing.
FE Nopes... per the devs, doesn’t even try. It’s just here, they all have their POVs and reasons, and they fight because they fight, and it is sad that they have to do so because. Look, they could have been friends under other circumstances (maybe if one of them didn’t try to invade the world to MAGA, or if the other didn’t start a war on the other with a third party involved but we’re not going to talk about that) but it doesn’t so here you go.
So while I wanted to say Nopes is a 66% KT product and the “two writers” meme could really imply that IS wrote AG (and AM in FE16) while KT wrote SB and GW -
At its core, FE Fodlan is not a FE verse, but a hybridation of KT’s approach to games and stories with FE’s approach, and just like a liger, it spectacularly failed.
Why, it’s not wonder so many people actually liked the Fodlan cast in FEH (or in their first apparitions) there was no pretenses or illusory conflicts/friendships to be had, Supreme Leader’s words and “ideals” could and are challenged, something that never happened in FE Fodlan.
Could FE Fodlan have been something really nice/good with IS being only dev ?
...
Ultimately, I don’t think so, FEH is... imo, the best window we have on IS and... well. The writing sucks, but moreover... IS wants to make money through this gacha game.
Some people already wrote a lot about it, but Supreme Leader’s partly designed to sell alts in FEH. So, judging by how everyone hated Supreme Puppet and her “Deedee?” - I’m not sure FE Fodlan, made exclusively by IS, would have been a better thing.
----
Real Tl;Dr : If KT works on the next FE game, I’ll seriously consider not buying it because, for me, this crossover was an utter failure.
If IS releases a new FE game right now, I’m still going to be doubtful and wait to see if people have a good opinion on this game.
To be clear, the only FE game I’m going to buy with closed eyes at the moment is a remake.

THEE next gen trio is claire kevin jack bc they’re my favorite kids in canon. in the Secret Good Spn obviously they’re all alive and living at the bunker w sam dean cas. kevin fucking hates it there and he makes it known. he’s a shithead to all three of tfw and when they first bring back claire (in this tfw brings her back directly after the Debacle where dean like kills her shitty father figure or smth. i dont remember dont tell me) anyway when they first bring back claire kevin’s like you bring this child. this shitty little teenager. this high school white trash white girl into my HOUSE but then claire tries to torch one of dean’s shirts out in the yard for unspecified reasons and kevin decides grudgingly he will take her under his wing. they’re reluctantly tolerant of each other and outwardly snipe all the time but they also just hang out all the time 1) bc they’re the only ones remotely close to each other’s ages and therefore each other’s ONLY hope when dean makes an inane reference to a movie neither of them have seen, will see, or will ever want to see 2) fuck the winchesters type energy 3) underneath it all they’re the same angry lonely traumatized people and they recognize it in each other and therefore, w mutual understanding and resignation, actually really like each other. sam dean cas watch this play out bemusedly and dean tries to get kevin off claire’s back once. ONCE. like “hey kevin back off claire will you.” and then claire furiously yells at him to leave kevin alone so for the most part they just leave them to their rituals. kevin spends a lot of time teaching her to play the video games he played in high school.
and once jack shows up he ALSO ends up hanging w them all the time bc they decide to adopt him. they’re reluctant about taking him in at first esp in front of each other but he’s just so FRIENDLY that both of them secretly bond with him individually and then like two weeks in kevin walks in on claire teaching jack to sword fight w the katanas on display in the library and from then on they’re inseparable. they’ll squirrel away in a random room of the bunker w movies and video games and not be seen for days. cas is the only one allowed in their super secret hideouts bc 1) he’s an angel and he has magic powers and extensive spatial awareness and 2) bc he’s jack’s favorite person in the whole wide world and jack always has his location on via father-son mind meld. kevin and claire will let cas fumble thru a couple minutes of skyrim with them before shooing him back out. anyway thru jack both kevin and claire end up rediscovering a little joy from the lost childhoods they both were traumatically yanked from, and his boundless innocence and Goodness soften them outwardly towards each other like they'll still pick fights but now they have to set an example for their toddler brother so it's pulling each other's hair instead of punching each other in the face. in the end they both end up fiercely protective of him. kevin bc he never thought he would get to care so deeply abt someone akin to family again, like he definitely resigned himself to a miserable existence in the bunker and hating however the rest of his life would play out and not caring abt anyone ever again bc the ppl close to him ended up dead/getting hurt; claire for much the same reasons but also bc she’s trying to transfer all the Big Brother energy she gets from kevin onto jack. PLUS also bc jack’s her - like he’s technically her brother. via cas. she’s still guarded towards cas but she’s tentatively opening up she doesn’t know if it’s residual feelings re: her dad or if cas has earned her legitimate empathy and sympathy yet but he cares so much for jack that she ends up seeing jack as a little brother by default. both kevin and claire would take bullets for him.
they have a kids’ table in the bunker. they don’t eat w the winchesters bc kevin still can’t look at dean w/o getting a homicidal glint in his eye (he’s getting better about it! now he eats whatever dean cooks instead of stubbornly boiling himself ramen everyday. its the effect of found family/found sibling interaction) but they’ll eat in the library and get crumbs on the books which sam bemoans but lets them do bc in all fairness they did traumatize these children in unique and horrifying ways. it’s ALL ABOUT kevin and claire sitting at a table with sandwiches snickering over stupid minecraft plays and teaching jack to take the tomatoes out of his sandwich and fling crusts at each other. like. the kids end up alright after all.
