Spoilers for tftgs volume 3

A scene I think about alot/ has stuck with me from the third book is on of the Benjamimic deaths. Jack sets up a trap full of bear traps that Benjamimic falls for and gets torn apart by in a gruesome way. And as Benjamimic is wailing and screaming and pleading for

" Please god just send some help "

Jack isn't just standing there watching-- he eventually starts mocking the mimic crying out for help and Jack's just screaming with it as it wails and dies until it finally stops.

TMA and TFTGS absolutely exist in the same universe

Nikola finds Jack absolutely delightful, in much the same way as she found Sebastian Skinner hilarious. She tries to get Jude to follow his blog, but Jude thinks anything related to the internet is for sweaty nerds, as if a constantly melting candle that knows about the stock market isn't the sweatiest nerd of them all.

(during the Jerry's head in a box / Benjamimics saga, Nikola messages the Avatar group chat with "RIP Jude Perry, you would have loved TFTGS Volume 3". Jude leaves her on read)

The Anglerfish tries to lure Jerry into the forest in order to steal his skin. Somehow Jerry ends up walking out of there completely unharmed and with multiple taxidermied human hides under his arm. The Anglerfish doesn't want to talk about it.

Breekon and Hope find the Twins too boring for words. Nikola thinks the four of them should be the best of friends. Breekon and Hope think that is kind of a hurtful stereotype. Not all giant menacing clown monsters are the same, c'mon man.

Michael / the Spiral sporadically pops in to the Gas Station via the various mysteriously appearing doors. He doesn't bother much with Jack (he found the whole Lydia Halligan situation depressing enough that it turned him off insomniacs) but he fucks with Tony and the Brick Roscoes on the reg.

The other Avatars refer to Roger as Annabelle's "creepy wooden son". To Annabelle, he's more like the embarrassing cousin who should be chained to a radiator in the attic and hidden away at parties. She keeps trying to manipulate Nikola into claiming him for the Stranger. Nikola gleefully tells her she would never dream of separating a mother from her baby.

Hithergreen Dissenters and the People's Church of the Divine Hope have both reached out to Shhhh. It did not go well. There may have been jerk-off gestures. From all six pairs of arms.

first pic is from page 165 and right before Benjamin walks into the gas station and gets Jack and Tony to follow him out to his car. Side note I find it really funny (and kinda sad) that Jack got so caught off guard by Tony asking him to hang out

and third pic is from page 250 and it is Tony pleading to his employer to let Jack live after Jack found out Tony had been spying on the gas station/ planning on blowing it up :((

TFTGS COMMUNITY I NEED HELP

Reading Volume 3, got to part where Howard goes all in on threatening Jack and brings him to personal illusion Hell.

His story about torturing his brother— was it just a threat, something about him being/used to being Jerry’s brother, or will this be explained later in the book?

I don’t think I’m understanding it right and want to get the lore correct 👊

favourite movie: the first conjuring movie from 2013! it's a huge comfort movie for me and i've seen it so many times it doesn't scare me in the slightest anymore. it does, however, make me laugh. (ask me about my favorite line delivery in that movie if you want an unhinged rant about brad being the best character.)

favourite series: i suppose the unsleeping city? or tales from the gas station b/c. yeah, but that's not a tv series. another one that's definitely up there is one punch man, and if you've known me long enough to remember my opm blog uhhh i'll go back to it someday maybe. a lot of my favorite series aren't shows so asdfjkl;

last song: "devil's train" by the lab rats!

last series: i guess the series i caught up on most recently was gamechanger?? that's a gameshow, though, and not a story-based show. maybe diminished. idk, i don't actually watch a lot of shows per se.

last movie: the first conjuring movie, once again. i remember watching it last thursday and going "BRAD MY BELOVED" an unreasonable amount of times. no copaganda type show is more effective to me than officer brad hamilton in this movie. (for legal reasons this is a joke)

currently reading: still making my way through tftgs volume 3 at a goddamn snail's pace, but i found out another online horror series i like is getting a book adaptation soon, so THAT'S something i'm excited to read.

currently watching: i've been working on rewatching the unsleeping city season 1, but it's a bit slowgoing haha! i keep putting it on in the background while i work and then getting distracted.

currently working on: i actually got a huge burst of motivation the other day for one of my original writing projects so that's *mainly* what i've been working on these past few days. i finally have a proper outline and designs for the characters!! love my fucked up post-apocalyptic road trip gang <3

I have not given jack x tony much thought but I see the vision, I'm relistening to volume 1 for the third time right now and listening to tony talk to jack abt the temple of doom was honestly really nice, as well as him calling Jack "homie". I wish there were more moments between them before tony betrayed jack and tried to kill him 💔

I've only seen like 1 or 2 people ship them before on AO3 and I honestly think it's pretty cute ! Im not really into shipping in general if it's not selfshipping but id say my favorite tftgs ship is jack x jerry :3

Case and point: My TFTGS stuff specifically

"Catch and Release" stands on its own now because it's no longer canon compliant, and I try to make it so that a lot of the rest of the stuff is

"Teen Angst", "you said 'hey man, i love you, but no fucking way'", "A Day in the Life of a Liskov Agent", "Thrill of the Chase", and "Cruel and Unusual" are all the same little universe to me, in which Jack and Spencer were friends when they were teenagers and, for unrelated reasons, hook up in the gap between volumes 3 and 4

The Frankenfic is its own separate AU series

"i wanna break these bones 'til they're better", "Meanwhile", "BITE RISK - DO NOT PET", and "Close Enough to Touch", as well as two unfinished fics, are all part of the SMCU despite the fact that Spencer is not in "Close Enough to Touch" or one of the two unfinished ones. Those ones are just me dedicating myself to being as canon-compliant as possible and still working outside of that sphere.
