It’s beautiful outside and you watch the sunset together. That’s the last boost you need before you turn to him and confess. You can’t maintain eye contact and you stumble a bit but, in the end, you tell him you love him while looking into his optics. You can’t read his face well with the battle mask but you see the way his optics go wide and then soften. His mask slides back and, very gently, he cradles you in his hands and tells you he loves you as well. There’re a few awkward giggles but everything goes smoothly. He drives you back to base and the two of you quickly head to his berth room to discuss what you want out of this. Arcee swears but agrees to take the extra patrol shifts from Ratchet; the medic doesn’t mention he heard you practicing in the bathroom a few days earlier. He wishes you both a happy relationship; hopefully now Optimus will stop making wistful ex-vents every time he comes to the med bay.

They are lucky to have someone as experienced as Ratchet, since neither of them really know what they're doing.
