“Do you have siblings?” Thundercracker asks.  “No,” Ultra Magnus says. “Should I consider myself lucky?” Thundercracker opens his mouth to answer, then closes it, biting his lip and frowning. “It’s complicated,” he finally settles on. “You’d die for them, but sometimes it feels like you’ll end up killing each other first.”

THE BEST OF WHAT'S AROUND CHAPTER ONE: THE WORST CASE SCENARIO

Optimus Prime and Megatron are missing. Both sides scramble to recover their assets and make up for their lost leaders, but in all the chaos, no one's actually bothering to look for the missing mechs.

That is, except for two blue bots who make an unlikely alliance- Ultra Magnus, extremely devoted to the cause and to his leader, and Thundercracker, who is most definitely not, but can't resist a good mystery.

Together, they must piece together the clues and discover who took their leaders, and if they even want to be found…

the urge to draw bowa scenes that won’t happen for a while… fight scenes… ultra magnus wielding his hammer with thundercracker sniping perched on his shoulders…

“Thundercracker?”  There’s a soft knock on the door of a washracks- or at least Thundercracker thinks Ultra Magnus was attempting to be soft, the knock rattles the very walls.  “What?” Thundercracker snaps. It comes out harsher than he means it to, but he needs at least another two hours in the washracks before he feels like himself again and there is not enough room in here for the both of them.  There’s a pause. “Are you alright?”  “Fine,” Thundercracker hisses, finally rubbing the dried blood off his shoulder, taking some of the paint with it. The energon coagulated from the wound has a slightly off coloring… it should be fine. He just takes extra care to clean the gunk out.  “Oh, good.” Ultra Magnus’ voice comes out oddly strained. “Because we have a problem.”

He’s considering it. Thundercracker drops his wings and tilts his helm to the side, trying to channel that apparent cuteness his brothers claim keeps him from being murdered.  Ultra Magnus’ own helm unconsciously tips to the same angle as Thundercracker’s, before he sighs heavily, venting hot air that rustles the loose debris around them. “Fine,” he hisses, pulling out the stasis cuffs and snapping one around a wrist, wincing as it locks into place. “Just don’t do anything stupid, okay?” “Stupid? Me?” Thundercracker tries to joke, but gets a glare for his efforts. He huffs, snapping the other cuff onto Ultra Magnus’ other wrist. “Fine, I’ll be careful. Ready?”  Ultra Magnus nods. Thundercracker waits for verbal confirmation, before he realizes both of Ultra Magnus’ servos are situated neatly in his lap. Okay then.  “Let’s rock and roll!”

i wanna draw bowa fanart but i cant visualize the way ultra magnus covers his mouth, is it ok with you to describe it more or draw it? thank u

thanks so much for the ask!! I'm honored you're going to draw fanart

but onto ultra mags! I imagine he tends to gesture when he speaks, and because I'm right-handed I made him right handed. I think when he's sitting and has something to prop his elbow up on, he keeps his hand pretty loosely over his mouth, he's more relaxed.

when he's standing up or in a tense situation, I imagine he curls his hand into a fist over his mouth or keeps it flat (sorry for bad image quality)
