-Stolas was asking for his antidepressants. keep in mind he goes this whole episode, which takes place over the course of a month, completely unmedicated.

-Blitz asking what he eats :(. Then Stolas's rich ass.

-Stella fucking GRAB'S VIAS PHONE. GOD I WANT TO KILL THAT BITCH. THEY SIT THEIR AND LAUGH ABOUT HIM WANTING TO TALK TO HIS DAUGHTER IT MAKES ME SO. FUCKING. ANGRY.

-Imps still hate Stolas. Also bro has NO life skills whatsoever

-She straight up spits in his coffee, no remorse. Queen honestly.

-Although Via won't talk to Stolas, she still saved him. She loves her dad, but she's rightfully angry. It'll take time to rebuild that trust.

-Blitz relaxes. Stolas doesn't.

-I knew immediately in the bathroom scene what was up with Millie

-Im really excited to see the pregnant millie plotline actually. Judging by her reaction, she's not sure if she wants to keep it.

-He doesn't hug Blitz back.

-Xmas song at the end goes hard.

Overall, this episode was AMAZING. The writing was great, the emotional moments hit hard, the animation was great as usual, and the pacing was good, if not a bit clunky. What a great end to the season.

I think i'll go call my dad.

The ending of episode 4 was not a suicide attempt; here’s why

//warning for light discussion of suicide, TADC episode 4 spoilers//

So, a common interpretation of episode 4’s ending is that gangle purposely walked into traffic, after having a mental breakdown. While this is a valid interpretation of the scene, I want to argue it.

Point 1: The breakdown

After Gangle left Spudsy’s, She takes off her mask, showing the real her. The scenes from this convey a sense of freedom, with gangle smiling, even though she’s wearing her tragedy mask, the ‘real’ her. This isn’t as much of a mental breakdown as it is an acceptance of her true self.

Point 2: The accident

When gangle is at the street light, she twirls, and it’s clearly shown that she trips, not jumps. When she’s falling, the look on her face is shock. While possible, it’s not likely the reaction she’d have if this were intentional.

Point 3: The reference

This scene is a reference. Really. A lot of viewers, especially western ones, probably missed this. But think of what Gangle says her dream is. To draw a manga-inspired webcomic. This gives us a connection to Japanese media. And for those of you who don’t know, running into oncoming traffic is often a common trope in Japanese media, especially those in the Isekai genre.

Isekais, if you don’t know, are a type of story where a character is transported to or reborn in a magical world. For example, tadc could technically be considered an Isekai, if the definition was stretched a bit.

And what happens right as the truck is about to hit her? She’s transported into Caine’s office. She’s leaving her old job as a general manager, and arriving in the circus.

Point 4: What I think it means

So, if it’s not suicide, what do I think it is? Here’s my theory: it’s representative.

Gangle worked a dead-end job that she hated just to make a living. One day, after cracking under the pressure, she finally quit and attempted to pursue her passion. Sure, she never really managed to do the whole ‘independently launched webcomic’ thing, but she did land a job at a small video game company. She did character designs, ads, cover art, etc. Eventually, she was given the opportunity to play the game her work had been revolving around lately. She puts on the headset, and is ‘reborn’ somewhere new.

-"Oh Ragatha.. I love her, but after a while it gets hard to tell how genuine she's actually being" THIS IS SUCH A GOOD LINE!!! I love how it shows how Ragatha is really trying her best, but she's been worn down so much over the years that they can tell her kindness is a mask, sort of like gangle's comedy mask.

-(Also gangle said 'i love her' in reference to ragatha, w for the gangle x ragatha shippers)

-I love how we get to see zooble's softer side in this episode.

-Gangle's not having a good time: the musical

-Again, pomni is just so sweet :(

-Ok but why does this ending sequence eat so hard

-I could go into a whole rant abt how this ending could possibly hint to all the cast being dead, and how this ending is a sort of recreation of Gangle's death, but I'm not sure goose would do that. It's a plausible theory after this episode, but i don't think the "They're all dead and living in a digital purgatory" theory fits the themes of the show well.

-Gangle chooses to be honest, even when faced with possible consequences.

-ROYALTEETH CRUMBS!!! I like to imagine Caine and Kinger went on their own little date adventure :3

Overall, I thought episode 4 was really good. Probably my least favorite so far, really just because of the slower pacing. I can't wait to see what's next!!
