One year since Charles Martinet became the Mario Ambassador

Hey, guys. Shizuka the Scene Fox here.

I know this post is different from my normal content, but this is just something that hit me pretty hard and I just wanted to write about it.

Some of you may know that just last year, as of this writing, Charles Martinet made two tweets stating…

And just several minutes earlier, the official Nintendo of America Twitter tweeted about Martinet's role of Mario Ambassador.

This, of course, spawned a lot of conversation and lament in the Super Mario community, and I myself was pretty bummed when I first heard the news. Even though that I personally grew up with Charles Martinet as Mario, I grew really fond of Charles and I think he was great in his own manner. Sadly, however, I think his full potential may not have been realized in the game since many claimed he was given pretty shitty scripts. And that's really sad since he has shown great talent in other Mario media such as the Luigi’s Mansion series and the WarioWare series.

Following Charles' role of Mario Ambassador, some fans saying that Chris Pratt, the voice of Mario in the Mario movie, might be taking over as Mario entirely, and personally, I really hope that doesn't happen. Well, I think Pratt did an amazing job in the movie. I don't think his voice would fit for the games, but considering the success of the movie, I have a strange feeling that Nintendo would do something like that. But if Nintendo is hiring a completely new voice actor like Kevin Afghani as Mario, I’m actually pretty excited to see how that would go.

Well anyway, that's all I really have to say on the matter. Sorry that it wasn't too informative, but it was just something that really hit home for me and I just wanted to give my two cents about it.

I'm no longer non-binary and gender-fluid anymore

Hey everyone! Just quickly saying that I'm no longer identifying as a non-binary and gender-fluid anymore. I will, of course, be identifying as a cisgender female just like I did before, but I no longer identify myself as non-binary nor gender-fluid.

And no, I'm definitely not gonna come out as a demigirl nor genderfae. In fact, I'll be keeping my She/Her pronouns just as the way it is, but I'm still okay with They/Them pronouns, I guess.

It's something that I've been considering for a while and I decided why not transition myself back to the way I was. It's not for any personal reasons or anything, it's just my way of supporting the LGBT community and trying something different that I'm still okay with.

Probably not like super important, but still might be nice to know at least. Just to be clear that I will not transition myself ever again, I wanna keep being a cisgender girl for the sake of my gender identity.

There’s a conceited effort by the deep state to manipulate digital weight scales. They give false readings and constantly fluctuate with no instructions on how to calibrate them at all. I know it’s the deep state and this website saying you have to look at their feet or else. No matter how hard you try you can’t manipulate my mind. Nice try, maybe when someone is calling your feet shit gay it’s because I am well acquainted with your girls vagina on my weenie. Those thoughts you have about digital weight scales at the store are not unfounded because they really do mislead you and fluctuate, by my observations these fluctuations vary anywhere from 5 to 20 pounds. The analog scales sold where Im currently staying are cheap and not reliable and are cheap oriental brands. I’m sure there’s a term for this type of devolution in consumer goods. But right now I have no time to look this up. What could motivate this industry into selling health products that purposely mislead the public? Why do I even try to sympathize with you? I don’t negotiate with people who don’t hold the same evidenced based opinions as I do. No love from me….

Dragoneer has passed away

Hello everyone. I thought I’d let you all know as he was very beloved here in the furry community in general. We lost someone. Dragoneer, the founder and owner of Fur Affinity, has passed away.

I'm profoundly sad about this news. He was kind, enthusiastic, genuine, respectful to the people around him, and a pillar in the furry community.

Fur Affinity is more than just an art website. At one time, it was the place to be. The place that many of us stumbled across on day, which showed us there's a whole world of people out there just like us, who share our love for everything anthropomorphic. FA is somewhat unique in how it was built around making people's creations easy to host, and easy to find, which made it an excellent platform for not only finding what you wanted to find and launching art careers, but finding meaningful, lasting friendships built on common interest.

FA was how I discovered this fandom, and it kickstarted countless friendships for me, and even my career. More recently, if it wasn't for Dragoneer, I wouldn't have discovered FA, and I therefore would likely never have delved this far into furry culture at all. I wouldn't be me, certainly not as you know me, at the very least. I certainly wouldn't have met all the wonderful people I am privileged to still have in my life today. Usually, friends come and go, but in a fandom like this one, it really feels like friends are for life.

Dragoneer had lived a good life and I’ll miss him a whole lot. Thank you, Dragoneer. I wish I had told you how much you meant the world to the furry fandom before you were gone. Rest in peace.

I’ll still be active, doing art, and posting stuff here and there. I'mma need a good distraction for sure.
