I was in a post-100% Super Mario Odyssey theme park and had to scan and unlock several Owl House style glyphs that were hiding in turns and corners in order to save this place.

"What do you remember of being human, Echo?" The question is out of the blue and unexpected. But Sora offers a patient smile and tilts her head in curiosity, just enough that one of her ears flops over. It's endearing, if anything.

But Echo wishes she hadn't asked.

"Not much. Distinct memories are cloudy." A tired tone says softly, a pained recollection in her eyes and an acrid haze in her soul that endures, endures, and endures, "But I remember the discomfort more than anything. My body always did feel wrong back then. Misshapen. Condensed. Like it was too small for everything buried underneath, and that ache went so deeply some days that it would make my skin crawl. I hated that part the most."

At that, Sora's expression falls. She looks inexplicably sad, as if she'd hoped for a different response, a gentler one despite knowing the harsh truth about the dark future and the struggles Echo must have suffered. "But you had Grovyle, right? I'm sure he took care of you."

"He did, Sora, of course he did." A sigh, a flick of an ear and claws clenched tightly into the churned earth pressed under her paws. "I doubt I deserved his attention, though. I was too busy being angry at the world to give any care back."

In my lore, Echo does not look fully human during their time in the dark future. Since they were Darkrai before becoming human, and as a result of Palkia's reckless shattering of the Dimensional Portal which distorted both time and space, Echo's transformation was broken and accidental. They ended up looking pretty messed up and definitely (not) human. A lot of their characteristics as Darkrai carried over but rather morphed into something else.

And Grovyle, growing up in a world where humans have been extinct for longer than any living pokémon has been alive, has no concept of what a "true" human looks like. The only thing he knows is descriptions of humans from glyphs and texts in old ruins. Thus, he mistakes Echo for an actual human. And Echo, not knowing what a human looks like themselves due to amnesia, accepts this identification with nothing better to use.

Anheb is formed from the glyphs an and heb, with an, like all initial VC syllables, in modified ruby text based on the old Lamegtu alphabet.

Jedar is written using the logograph form of the syllable jed, with the logographic form being marked by the small round dot beneath it. Logographs are often marked with their first and final consonant in ruby text below, as here, here j and r.

Shoutout to this one version of a coffin texts spell that I’m trying to to practice my middle Egyptian with where there isn’t a beard in the god determinative after Horus’s name:

So now the spell is about being together with the followers of girl Horus instead.

I think there actually is a girl Horus, I’m pretty sure she’s called Horit or something? I think she’s just there to be his feminine counterpart (like the way most of the gods have feminine/masculine counterparts) so she’s usually just Hathor? Don’t quote me on any of this, I don’t remember it that well. But all the other versions of this spell are about regular Horus so this is probably a typo.

This gesture Luz does twice in Thanks to Them is ambiguous, but it reads to me as at least partly about her feeling haunted by Collector-adjacent sun, moon, and stars imagery. Her eventual friendship with the Collector was really sweet, and after her line that "[the Collector] and I made a pinkie promise to keep trying our best", I like to think that looking up at those decorations reminds her to hang in there.

in my dreams im always trying to induce situations where i can read something but it's always a limestone wall (or a bright sunny outside near a wall that covers the main steet from the cul de sac) when it works---little engravings in a stone wall. when staring directly at it, they take the character of glyphs and "mean" something, my brain reads them, regardless of if it matches, but any time my eyes shift or the current state of my train of thought moves, the glyphs change.

This does not wake me up or reassure me or help me change anything about the dreams, i just think about how the glyphs just changed.

if i want to wake up from a terrifying dream, i have to really forcefully try to open my eyelids by opening them so hard that i jolt awake.

the reading thing doesnt wake me up and i never choose to do it, its just a part of the intense paranoia while sleeping that motivates it and is not eased at all by the reading itself. even though im only motivated to read things "to prove" that i can't when i'm sleeping.
