#me dunking my head in a lake whenever someone says joels motivation at the end of the episode#was fueled by tess#and not#fueled by him spending literally the entire episode focusing on ellies well being more then tess and constantly being at odds with tess#you know#like joels motivation at the very end had nothing to do with tess#but his care and attachment to ellie and how him seeing sarah in ellie during this episode#is what switches on for him in that moment and he realizes thats all he cares about#cus tess is begging him guys to do something joel wont do#joel does only for ellie he doesn't make everything right#doesnt give the world their fake chance at a cure#tess still would have handed her over and joel didnt#nothing about his motivation or actions to Ellie especially at the end#like#can we please remeber this is a character study about joel and his struggle with accepting fatherhood#tess has nothing to do with what Joel does or did there#like i get it you think their both attractive but like the entire show is about joel finding his own internal motivations for ellie#tess didnt influence shit and suggesting she did takes away from joels character
