Famous Inventor’s Icks.
Henry Ford
Apparently, he hated Jews. He even made an entire newspaper section dedicated to telling the public just how much they're trying to achieve world domination continuously for a good number of years, on the front page, called “The International Jew: The World's Problem,” even Hitler was hyper aware of his works and praised them, soon even awarding Ford the Grand Cross of the German Eagle on his 75th birthday, 30 July 1938. Which he accepted since you know, they were far away buddies.
Thomas Edison
He hated tons like an elephant weight number of tons. 1 – Any form of criticism, got extremely annoyed when Henry Morton, the President of the Stevens Institute of Technology, called his light bulb a "conspicuous failure" in a public letter. 2 – Most (if not all) black inventors getting any kind of credit for things he majored in like, Edison sued Granville T. Woods, a prolific Black inventor, twice in the 1880s, claiming that he invented the telegraph for trains first. 3 – Tesla. Tesla eventually resigned from Edison's company after becoming convinced that Edison hadn't lived up to a promise of bonuses.
Madame Curie
Xenophobia, Curie faced xenophobia as part of the right-wing press campaign against her. Sexism was also an obvious and huge problem for her as well, some of her coworkers didn’t enjoy her much because they felt she was spending too much time in the lab rather than with her own children. In 1911, Curie was denied a seat in the French Academy of Sciences, likely due to sexism and religion. The right-wing press spread false rumors about her, including that she was Jewish and not truly French.
Nikola Tesla
He absolutely despised germs, this man was the definition of a germaphobe to the point where he declined to shake hands, even wore gloves to avoid germs and hair, just simply hated the feeling of touching hair, some speculate that his hate of feeling hair is stemming from a childhood illness, made him particularly sensitive to the idea of hair carrying bacteria.
Benjamin Franklin
Hated Germans, even saying that they weren’t “as smart as the people already living in the colonies.” As of 1750s, disparaging "low women," Catholics, and Jews; decrying "alien" German immigrants who would "swarm into our settlements;" and labeling Native Americans as "drunken "savages who delight in war. take pride in murder," and should be pursued with "large, strong, and fierce dogs." Yet, in the 1760s, when white Americans attacked an Indian settlement, he labeled the attack "white savagery." African Americans, he described as "sullen, malicious, revengeful" and "by nature [thieves.]" Yet, ever the inquiring scientist, he visited a school for black children, emerging from the visit with a "higher opinion of the black race than I had ever before entertained."
Hedy Lamarr
Lamarr was not a supporter of her husband's political views and hated fascism. She was concerned about the war and didn't feel comfortable making money in Hollywood while the world was in such a state, Lamarr was unhappy in her marriage to Mandl, a wealthy armaments producer for the Nazis. She described him as controlling and said he prevented her from pursuing her acting career. Lamarr escaped to Paris in 1937 and divorced Mandl.
Steve Jobs
Jobs famously disliked styluses, saying, "You have to get 'em, put 'em away, you lose 'em. Yuck! Nobody wants a stylus. So, let's not use a stylus". He also killed the Newton, a tablet-like device that used a stylus, also didn’t like Bill Gates very much, Jobs called Gates "unimaginative" and said that Gates was more comfortable in philanthropy than technology.
All information from google, I tried not to use Wikis, but if it’s incorrect then blame the internet, not me.

Am I the only one who thinks that giving Edison Medal to Nikola Tesla is the funniest and tactless thing anyone could do to him?
Like come on, Edison literally destroyed his reputation, saying Tesla's inventions are unsafe and kill people, and once betrayed him by promising a massive bonus if he could improve his stupid little DC generator, Tesla did, and then was told that it was a joke and it's really nice to have his generator fixed but he won't receive any money, bye
btw Tesla invented far more stuff than I thought he did (since I realised I can't name any of his inventions, but surely he was a great and important person, i decided to do a little research on what he done), besides the alternating current stuff i don't understand a word of, he made radio, a hydroelectric power plant on Niagara falls, and a flipping radio remote controlled boat
he's an icon and did so much stuff and kcmdjfhejdn

Gone are the times when Tesla sold every car it could build fresh out of the factory. We’re now at the point where the company has actually made too many vehicles. The automaker is obviously aware of this, slashing prices on popular models like the Model Y as inventory piles up. Buyers aren’t biting though and now the automaker has so much unsold inventory that, as Sherwood News reports, they’re being stored in lots that can be seen from space. In Q1 2024, Tesla reported that it made 433,371 vehicles. Of those, 386,810 were actually sold. This means the automaker has an extra 46,561 vehicles it didn’t sell. This can be blamed on the overall EV sales slowdown, plateau, whatever you want to call it. Tesla played a part in this as well as Sherwood pointed out:

For those of you who have recently started playing Fallout 3 after watching the tv show and want to use Butch as a companion...
I know his signature weapon is his switchblade but his tagged skill is actually unnarmed. Not melee. Get that boy a deathclaw gauntlet. Or a powerfist. There's one called Fisto! that is really good.
And put him in power armor. Tesla or Hellfire if you can get it.
His other tagged skill is small guns. So, Butch is unique amongst companions in that his default pistol technically requires ammo for him to use it (he won't use the ammo and only actually needs one bullet in his inventory). You can easily manipulate him into using whatever gun you want by taking away all of his 10mm rounds... Provided you supply him with plenty of ammo for those guns. I used to give him the Blackhawk (complete Agatha's quest) and sometimes a sniper rifle. Completing The Pitt should get you access to an ammo press if you need rarer bullets.
His final tagged skill is Science.
This does nothing.
But you can headcanon that he's really good with computers or something.
Anyway, hope that helps!

Demand Crisis for Ford's Heavily Discounted Mustang Mach E
Demand Crisis for Ford's Heavily Discounted Mustang Mach E
P.S. Now in Latvia, Tesla electric cars of various models are often seen despite the rather high price, but at the same time Ford Mustang Mach-E, like other expensive "luxury" electric cars produced by legacy automakers, are very rare.
Many local electric car buyers are under the impression that legacy automakers are not really interested in EV selling and supporting their customers...The people instinctively feel that legacy automakers are still sticking to internal combustion engines and that the efforts of these companies to produce electric cars have the same dispassionate fakeness as a fake orgasm...! There is no passion or effort to promote their EVs...
In real EV world inhabited by legacy automakers, we see rising prices, low inventory and long wait times for new vehicles, EV charging and reliability issues and so on, and so on...!
Despite all drawbacks, Tesla stands a light years ahead over "competition"...In fact, there is no competition... There is a very high probability that Tesla will be one of the dominant players in the market of both new and used cars even in Latvia in the next couple of years.

I think the mistake that people make here, thinking they are immune, comes from the way that we describe the power of advertising. People think that we are saying that like, we see an ad, and that ad magically makes you want to buy things through the power of psychological trickery. And people generally think of themselves as smart and as having too strong of a will to fall for such blatant tricks. So they assume they simply won't buy the thing.
And the thing is, they probably won't, for things that they already don't want or cannot afford. For example, no ad will ever get me to buy a Tesla because I think they are wasteful garbage and I detest Musk.
HOWEVER. That does not mean that I believe myself to not be susceptible to advertisements in general. Because advertisements are not magic spells that you resist via the power of will and being savvy to their tricks.
The question you need to be asking is this: would you even be aware that this product existed without the ad? Would you be sitting there going "man, I'm just really missing this hyper specific accessory or shoe or gadget from my life"? Does it actually fill an empty niche in the inventory of your belongings that make your life easier and more enjoyable?
THAT is how advertisements work. Being influenced by ads doesn't mean that you are buying shit that you don't want against your will. It means that you have been made aware that a particular product exists. And you think about it and maybe sometimes you go "you know what? I do want a fancy jacket even though i already have a perfectly practical one."
or maybe sometimes you see an ad and you go "I don't have this thing, and it genuinely would make my life better if I had it". Advertisements do in fact serve a purpose, letting us know that a product is available to us if we a) need it, b) want it, and c) can afford it.
To say that you are immune to advertisement is a gross misunderstanding of how these things work. Advertisements don't only work if you are stupid or wasteful or something. It's not a moral failing to buy something.
Ads work by telling you that an item exists and where you can get it. They absolutely go on to work like crazy to persuade you that the want is actually a need. And sometimes, you do go, "You know what, I'm going to splurge on this thing, even though I know I don't need it, because it's cool or I'm treating myself or I think I'll enjoy it."
This is where people showing off their cute outfits comes into play, because now it's not just an ad, it's your friend or mutual saying "I got one and I love it!" How many times do you read a book or watch a show because people recommended it? How many times do you crave a fast food meal after someone mentioned it?
Again, this is not a moral failing. You are allowed to want things, regardless of their use, value, or expense. But as OP said, when you stop immersing yourself in environments where you are swarmed with ads and influencers, like deleting TikTok and getting stronger adblockers, you can better avoid those influences simply because you stop being made aware that the products you would be buying exist.
"advertising doesn't work" the increase in scentbird ads and people talking about a "personal signature scent" directly correlates with my family's interest in perfumes. Even if they're not using scentbird, something probably changed to make them want perfumes more, right?
