Had a brainrot with your new PJ masks video :] (sent you an anon yesterday I think, but you can't send images on anon sooo)

I love your ideas! Ace Greg never occurred to me but I can definitely imagine him just being happy for all his friends!
To answer some things, I think the media probably does know about the PJ Masks, but with a different, more adult name that I haven’t decided on for them yet 😭 They probably go by something that GunnTech assigned to them and “PJ Masks” is a name they decided on unofficially as silly children.
ALSO I LOVE THE IDEA OF OWLETTE SAVING LUNA, like in the video, without her wings or her powers.
And then Catboy being controlled? I’m soooo split between it being Gekko or Catboy, Gekko’s the CEO’s nephew and the strongest or “more dangerous” than the other two (though, ofc, GunnTech can control more than one hero at once so maybe they send Gekko with Dylan, the two strongest (physically) ones. (The strongest ones power-wise are LilyFay, Newton and Luna, probably, since they’re all space-characters?)

I love this AU so much but I do have to ask, where is Howard? How does he feel about Randy hanging out and going on missions with other heroes?
... ok but this is a bit of a complicated answer, considering...
Tumblr media
In Present (Comic) Time, Howard is currently, uh indisposed? 😰
But lol, yeah I get what you mean, so let's just answer in general: Howard is Randy's best friend and he will be by his side as soon as current Randy 'problem' gets resolved. But Howard is also not as into the hero stuff as much as Randy, and that's what I like about him.
Howard would not be eager to go on missions like Randy, and while yes it will probably be a cause for some jealousy that Randy's gonna hang out with other heroes - you have to keep in mind that in HoM AU they are both a bit older, so the jealousy will be much more managable. Because at the end of the day, they are still best friends, no matter how many new cool friends either of them meet.
Not to mention, who is to say that Howard won't hang out with them as well?? xD (I just never drew it, because uuuuh plot reasons) Also not to mention the other characters that are in the same best friends/support role for other heroes! He will totally call them losers, but will still eagerly join their super secret chat group so he can share/learn some funny dirt about their respective hero friends. xD

"The Macguire Express"
For these past few days I've been conversing with the wonderful @the-star-and-the-smols ! Engaging in much MUCH brain-rot of RDR2, G/T AND one particular character within the game. <3 Truly Cassidy's ideas are ones to marvel and the illustration you see before you is one of them - Sean being the utter ladies man that he is, takes the gals out of camp and carries them into town (before boredom kills them). Using a transportation he calls "The Macguire Express".
(Thank you so much Cass for supplying such UNBELIEVABLE amounts of ideas, inspiration and fuel for this awfully specific fixation its been nothing short of incredible!)

May I drop the idea of Wild looking completely feral when meeting the chain. So they assume he IS feral, and no one realizes he can talk. And he keeps quiet. Then randomly, for no apparent reason, Legend finds him singing as he washes clothes. Wild notices him, looks him dead in the eye and goes "no one will believe you" before returning to silence
You absolutely may drop that idea. HAHA! I imagine in that universe they've like heard him hum before, or something, but then he's out there just singing a ballad. Poor Legend, no one would believe him

It's really, really nice to have a doctor say, "Oh yeah, that makes sense" after years of having people tell you your pattern of pain can't be happening and/or is inexplicable!

The last two or three notes I have on this duo story of Hourman and Mister Terrific: Mister Terrific had his back-up feature in the pages Sensation Comics ended in March of 1947. But as I've already established, Mister Terrific doesn't retire until 1951/1952. So to reconcile that, this Hourman and Mister Terrific comic would have an eight to ten page back-up story every issue, until we've covered Mister Terrific's career from April 1947 to whenever the JSA diabands in 1951/when Mister Terrific gets busted for still doing vigilante stuff in 1952.
Also, Hourman's back-up feature in Adventure Comics ended in February of 1943. But Hourman only retires in like April or May of 1948. So he would also have a back-up feature in the pages of my Hourman and Mister Terrific comic, so we could get ten page comics exploring the adventures of Hourman from March 1943 to April or May of 1948, when Rex Tyler finally retires from superhero work. So that's a whole five years worth of extra material for both Hourman and Mister Terrific. Dedicated to Ken Fitch and Bernard Baily and Charles Reizenetein and Hal Sharp, respectively.
Finally, One of their recurring villians throughout the decades would be Regina Bannerman, the daughter of Rex's old boss at Bannerman Chemical. Her father retired in 1955, and so she inherited the company. But when Terry Sloane buys it out and makes it become Tyler Chemical instead in 1958, Regina loses it. In 1958, she first fights Hourman and Mister Terrific, trying to get at Rex Tyler and Terry Sloane. In 1962, she finally realized that Rex Tyler and Terry Sloane were actually the secret identities of Hourman and Mister Terrific, and she begins trying to use that to her advantage.
And after Hourman has a son in 1966, well… Regina kidnapped Rick Tyler and tried to kill him. Thankfully, Hourman and Mister Terrific manage to get the Justice Society's help, and Rick Tyler is saved. But this is around the time that the Justice Society members begin realizing it's too dangerous to bring their children into their lives as superheroes. Rex Tyler begins trying to hide his life as Hourman from his son, not wanting his son to be ever put in danger ever again. He doesn't his son to get hurt…
But Regina Bannerman continues trying to strike at Hourman and Mister Terrific for decades. She can't get over her grudge. And long into her old age, she continues trying to mess with them. In fact, it's because of her that Rick Tyler has to become Hourman II. She kidnaps Rex and Terry in 1985, and she tries to kill them for revenge. Infinity Inc and the JSA rush to try and save them, but it's Rick Tyler (working all on his own) who manages to steal a miraclo pill and save his parents. In that fight, Regina finally dies. But she dies after accidentally chasing Rick right into the path of her own deathtrap.

it kind of sucks to me that roman has to be a babyface because the only logical beef for him to have is with solo, and theyve built solo up as a cruel heel and sympathy for paul heyman. just because these things always have to be face v heel... idk it already feels like there's revisionist history happening. like obviously paul heyman misses his tribal chief and they brought out the pathos of that really well, but the idea that this is all designed so when roman comes back he can get cheered as a face to beat up the Worse Heel in solo.... it just doesn't sit right with me! it wasnt that long ago that roman was the one shocking everyone with his targeted, personal cruelty, when he got an entire arena to chant "fuck you" at him. i would love to see a well told story about how a man can reach those depths, and come back to the surface again, find redemption - and i do not want that story to essentially happen off screen/through the wrestling logic of feuding with someone "worse"! debatable that solo's even worse by the way cause some of roman's most vicious targets were jey and sami, people he claimed to love. and sorry you're telling me that guy is just going to come back and be a good guy by default now? do the people who eagerly anticipate this actually ahve an idea as to why roman would be good, and no 'because the crowd want to cheer him' is not a good enough answer

Brubaker’s Catwoman on being an antihero: “[We’ve been] at odds from the start ... because my world is all just shades of grey, Batman. That's why you'll never really understand me. It's about good people being forced into bad situations. That's my territory ... in between right and wrong. Which is a place you can never go. And we both know it. Just like I know I'll finally sleep tonight."
From Catwoman: Anodyne by Ed Brubaker and Darwyn Cooke

ooh, bridgerton au for wip wednesday?
wip wednesday game
“Well,” she began, “lovely though this encounter has been—”
“Right,” Harrington said, jerking upward like a puppet who got his strings yanked. “We should—Apologies again for—” He gestured vaguely at the fallen screen. He was gesturing with the candelabra, which did rather drive home the point.

what are your favourite tracks on the show right now?
i already loved heaven and meltdown, so i am excluding them, but i'm obsessed with if you leave me to the point where i just keep repeating it instead of moving on??? the slinky groove, his vocals, the way he sings, "hope you know that you're sentencin' me to a life on my knees." "can't you stay for the rest of my life"?! A BOP. save my life! the horns, the SAXOPHONE, the VIBES, impeccable. science is so, so pretty. never grow up is so sweet and so quintessentially Niall™, like that's one of those songs where you simply go, yep, that's HIM! must be love because, as previously noted, he wrote that one for the nervous overthinkers and we love him for it <3
...i just named 7 songs off a 10 track album. byeeeee?! on a night like tonight, easy breezy beautiful, i feel like he could match it up with everywhere from hbw in a really cool way on tour. the show is very touching and epic. you could start a cult is romantic with a curious hint of darkness, and i found it a little jarring at first, but it's growing on me. so clearly i love the record overall lol

My interpretation of Hourman (Rex Tyler): Rex Tyler was born in Ithaca, New York, on November 5th, 1913. Rex loved science, specifically chemistry. He couldn't get enough of experimenting with all the different elements and compounds. He was so fascinated by it that he goes to Cornell University in his home of Ithaca, and he manages to score himself a degree in chemistry. After working his way through the education system, rex manages to take his chemistry skills and get a job at the Bannerman Chemical corporation in NYC, a veritable powerhouse in the world of chemical manufacturing.
He got his job in 1938 or 1939. But in early 1940, Rex wound up discovering a new element he would end up calling Miraclo. Testing the newly discovered element on some lab mice, rex found it gave them increased strength and vitality for several hours at a time. Curious, Rex then tries it on himself. And he finds that the element of Miraclo also gives him increased strength and physical endurance, but only for around 60 minutes. Because the human body is so much bigger than a mouse's body, the effects of the miraclo wear off much quicker.
But still, rex realizes he's discovered an amazing, wonder drug here. Secretly manufacturing it into a pill format, rex realized he needed to use this gift to help humanity. So he placed an ad in the newspaper, saying that the "Man of the Hour is here to help you solve all your problems!". Tracking down one respondent to the ad, he aided a housewife whose husband was falling in with the wrong crowd, and stopped a robbery. Using a costume he found in an abandoned costume shop, Rex began his secret career as The Hourman, guardian of New York City! At this point in time, rex has told nobody else about his discovery of miraclo, fearing what criminals could do if they got their hands on it.
In any case, Rex fights crime all through the 1940s as the Hourman, eventually even acquiring a fanclub and group of sidekicks amongst the youth of New York City and beyond. These kids would call themselves the Minutemen, and they'd be led by two main kids; Jimmy Martin and Thorndyke Thompkins. These kids would be given smaller doses of miraclo, doses that empowered them for only a few minutes at a time (as compared to his hour length dosage). So by day, Rex Tyler worked for Kenneth Bannerman's chemical plant (which sometimes led him to watch over Kenneth's daughter, Regina). But by night, he would fight crime as The Hourman with his Minutemen sidekicks, all with the aid of Miraclo.
Due to his exploits as The Hourman, Rex gets invited to join the Justice Society of America. He did (becoming one of their many founding members), but he left after a year because he felt he couldn't keep up with them. He was a nobody compared to The Spectre or Doctor Fate, and Rex humbly chose to bow out and go on a hiatus from the team. Meanwhile, he lets the team bring in new members to work in his stead.
But even after going on hiatus from the JSA, Rex continued operating as The Hourman throughout the 40s. It was only in 1948 that he retired. He began slowing down in 1945 (after he realized that excessive use of miraclo could cause addiction like symptoms after a while), but he didn't fully retire until 1948. And this is something Rex wouldn't realize until he retired and went back dedicating himself to his research, but Miraclo also gives it's user a prolonged lifespan if it's taken for a long time. It really is a miracle drug. Although it's going to give him some pains (both emotional and mental) later in life, it's also made him nearly immortal.
But yeah, Rex Tyler retires in 1948, fully rededicating himself to his chemistry research. Ten years later (in 1958), Terry Sloane buys Bannerman Chemical when it's on the verge of bankruptcy. To repay his friend for saving his life in 1955, Terry makes sure the company is rebranded to become Tyler Chemical, and Rex Tyler becomes CEO of his own chemical company.
A year or two after this (in 1961), Rex meets an aspiring young actress named Wendi Harris while on a business trip to LA. Wendi began acting in 1947, but she was blacklisted in 1951 because her brother was accused of being a communist. But Wendi hadn't given up, and she's still trying it make something of herself. Rex quickly begins bonding with her, and they become close friends.
Since I've already made nearly 8 paragraphs, I'll speed things up now: the Justice Society of America reforms in 1963. Terry Sloane drags Rex into taking up the mantle of Hourman again, and Hourman and Mister Terrific subsequently become crime fighting partners. In 1966, Rex and Wendi end up having a kid together, a boy they name Richard (or as he eventually becomes more well known, Rick). Terry Sloane is also heavily involved in Rick's life, becoming like a second dad to him. But together, Rex and Terry form a deep friendship and bond (which I cover more in my Mister Terrific note).
