Ancients Awakened Pre-Hardmode

Ancients Awakened was a Terraria mod with a massive scope, like calamity level of scope. I had high hopes. The concepts seemed awesome, the soundtrack went hard AF and the designs were fire. Annoyingly, as is so common, the lead developer was a creep and half the dev team at once. All the awesome music, spritework and more was crushed until one dev stepped up to take back control. I'm not sure which of these are sill in the mod or what the lore or direction is but I hope these designs, concepts and sprites aren't wasted. The old wiki on terraria mods wiki still has some incomplete old info if you're interested but I think they have their own fandom page or .gg wiki. If anyone wants to tell me about the state of the mod or the fate of these goobers please do tell this was all I did during the pandemic.

The mushroom monarch and feudal fungus were a pair of early-game msuhroom themed bosses. Like king slime tier, you would fight them seperately. There was also a pre-hardmode red msuhroom biome and truffle for it. Mushroom monarch is coming back in the restored version.

Truffle toad was a largely redundant boss who you would fight post eye of cthulhu. Fandom says it's "being overhauled in a remake" so...

the old lore says that the grips of chaos are two quarters of a chaos wizard's soul split in half by (I think) Terra, dryad queen or smth. They are back in the remake. You would fight them after the eye of cthulhu.

Hydra and broodmother are like brain of cthulhu and eater of worlds, fought just after in their respective biomes, the mire and the inferno. They mothered the sisters of discord (you'll see them later) with yamata and akuma, respectively. Hydra has been renamed to swamplurker in the remake and is being reworked. Broodmother is also coming back reworked.

Desert Djinn and subzero serpent were a pair of post-skeletron bosses for the desert and ice biome respectively. Desert Djinn is being turned into an NPC for "awakened light" (idk what that is maybe a special gamemode). Subzero serpent is beoming a miniboss for an underground ice biome (think armoured digger from calamity)

Sagittarius was a pre-wall of flesh boss for the void biome. It'd being replaced with Drone Dispensory Delta in the remake but is staying as a miniboss. Also I though I had a better version of this one but nevermind I might redraw it or draw the replacement when it gets spritework.

the “shout out to blank, gotta be one of my favorite genders” meme but blank is replaced with “disgusting growths that spread cysts across the land, infecting everything and everyone in its path”. then the image has a picture of a room from the game rain world, covered in black bumpy cysts with blue X marks. black and blue tentacles drip from the ceiling and connect parts of the room. there’s also a “daddy long legs” in the middle, which is a moving cluster of black cysts with blue X marks and a series of long blue and black tentacles that snake all over the room.

then there’s an image of the scarlet rot from the game elden ring, specifically a giant, pale, tree-like protusion covered in alien-looking white and red lichen and barnacles. the sky behind the infected landscape is blood red.

then there’s an image of the infected crossroads from the game hollow knight, which is an underground series of rooms and bridges of medieval-ish or renaissance architecture, mostly dull blue and gray tones, with a lot of fences, signs, and intricate structures. scattered around the room are giant orange pustules of “the infection”. unlike the rot from rain world, the infection pustules are a lot larger and more spread out, and their presence is more of a complimentary contrast to the dark background rather than being so widespread the entire room is covered in them. there are also some glowing white firefly’s in the background, and a group of anthropomorphic, bug-like people with segmented bellies and white masks with large black eyeholes, who have been overtaken by the infection, and are now covered in orange infection pustules and drip an orange liquid. their eyes also glow orange now.

and lastly, an image of the corruption from the game terraria. this corruption has turned a forest dark and pale purple, along with a series of vine-like thorns in the background and foreground. the trees are very stylistic; a tall, skinny, lavender truth with a puff of purple leaves at the top, and a few tiny branches. there are also some creatures in the foreground, such as a long brown worm with large mandibles and multiple eyes, and a short, flying, cone-shaped creature called an eater of souls, which is also brown and covered in mandibles and eyeballs

Calamity Revengance Flamethrower Only Progress Update

Helloooooo everyone! I've been challenging myself with a Terraria Calamity Revengance playthrough. With a catch...

FLAMETHROWERS ONLY

Currently, progressionwise, I have beat the Hive Mind, causing Arialite ore to spawn to upgrade my armor set a bit after work today. :)

In terms of Pre-Hardmode Flamethrowers, I've obtained 3/4 of them.

Here are my weapons. armors, and accessories collected at this stage and some opinions on each

"Spark Spreader" The starting weapon is usually the worst

Honestly, it was a a pain to use this weapon in particular, due to the somewhat low base damage and a bit of a wait/grind to get the next flamethrower.

I've beaten King Slime, many times, to get enough gel for it to be somewhat useful. And even after reforging it to "Unreal", and Menacing Accessories, early Pre-Hardmode was a grind until I got my next Weapon.

"Dragoon Drizzlefish" Fire = Good

After upgrading my armor set to Victide armor, And now that I've gotten enough gold coins to tinker some of my weapons and Accessories. I decided it would be time to venture into the Underworld to get a "Lavaproof Bug Net"

I crafted the Obsidian Armor set as a backup to help traverse the underworld in the early game, as it's set bonus was somewhat altered in the Calamity mod. to help traverse both fire blocks and Survive in lava for a bit.

Funnily enough, only after I obtained the Lavaproof bug net, did I realize I only needed to farm Soul Slurpers to obtainthe Slurper Pole.

Which thankfully wasn't that long of a grind as only my second Soul Slurper dropped it.

After Many deaths, and even making a temporary underground base with a spawn point near the Brimstone Crag, I was ready to fish.

3rd cast, I obtained the run saver.

Okay... Now to the weapon itself, and What a weapon it is.

The dragoon drizzlefish is a flamethrower that... get this... Doesn't use ammunition. I was already happy when i found that out, but After using it to literally decimate a blood moon, I knew i was ready for the next boss on my list.

THE HIVE MIND

2nd attempt.. Second attempt it went down, The Drizzlefish absolutely Demolished the Hive mind, and after an... Admittedly shoddy performance on my first attempt. I managed to not only defeat the Hive Mind, but get the Shadethrower on the first drop.

So, at the moment, I've defeated A decent amount of bosses, and I'm in the process of getting ready for work as I finish this post, but, my goals for tonight, is to beat the majority of the rest of the Pre-hardmode bosses, and then go on a Building spree
