This issue’s story is “The Green Eater” and with it we go back to writer Mark Millar, along with artist Mike Hadley. So far, we’ve been swapping back and forth between Millar and Kitching in terms of writers, but I hadn’t heard many people talk about Millar’s work on StC, so I have looked him up on the Sonic wikia between reading issues. It’s been observed that Millar mostly wrote stories set in the zones from Sonic 1 (this one is noted as starting in Scrap Brain Zone), while Kitching used Sonic 2 as a setting. But it’s also believed that Millar wrote all of his StC stories in one block, prior to the first issue being published, so it isn’t a case of writers butting heads as it is that all of these stories were already written before the focus of the comic moved to Sonic 2. Regardless, it looks like after around issue 20, Kitching takes over as the head writer, so we only have a few issues with Millar’s writing left. Which is a bit of a shame for me, since Millar favoured using Sally Acorn, who wouldn’t appear much in StC after he leaves, but some things just aren’t meant to be But all that aside, getting back to today’s story, Green Eater shows us another larger badnik commanding the smaller ones on Robotnik’s behalf. This one is called “Terra-Droid” and is keen to have his invention finished, which he intends to use to bleed the planet dry

Sonic finds out about this via the Emerald Hill Zone literally melting (as a side note for what I said above, it’s believed that this would’ve originally been Green Hill Zone, but was edited to match Kitching placing Sonic’s base in Emerald Hill Zone). Also, we get Flicky in a speaking role! This is quite rare anyway, but by the time Sonic 3D gets adapted into StC, flickies will be the non-talking birds we see in the games, so this new-found voice won’t last once they step the focus away from the smaller animal friends

Sonic rushes to Scrap Brain and rescues a bunch of small animals, which seems to include Johnny Lightfoot, Porker Lewis and Tux Penguin. I like that he directly asks them for their help here, since it ties into StC having the small animals fight back for their own freedom

They waste no time in going after Terra-Droid, keeping the large robot busy, while Sonic heads off to destroy the Green Eater. I can’t help but feel there’s a moral about unionising workers in here somewhere

I realised that I hadn’t shown the Green Eater, but it’s basically just a big tower and it explodes when Sonic runs around it, so there’s not much to say there

He also has time left over to do this, I guess??

After that, Sonic has a short fight with Terra-Droid, removing his battery to beat him. It turns out that Terra-Droid was one of those badniks made without animal batteries, which early StC lore has established are stronger than regular badniks But I’m sure the first thing on your mind is “Wait, what are they going to do with Terra-Droid’s corpse?” Well, don’t worry, StC has the answer to that one as well:

…They hollowed him out to use as a new base to replace the one he destroyed. Now the workers can sleep soundly in the remains of their abusive boss. Look, they even put a smile on his face! I have a feeling that this will probably never be mentioned again, however. Since I remember Sonic’s hideout from later issues and it isn’t Terra-Droid, but it’s still a funny way to end the story. More importantly, according to the hard-to-see white text at the bottom of the last panel, it looks like we’ll be getting a Christmas story in the next issue. That, combined with the Tails solo story will be like a double Christmas gift, yaay!

Yee. Felt like a powerhouse before I took a 5-year hiatus of my own (Work on more original stuff before coming back, as the love still burns stronger than ever)! And sure, you can! It's always nice to have something that inspires others! (^^) I may do Terramix as either a full-on comic series or talk like this in catalogue (Or maybe even Storybook or PowerPoint) format, with some pictures to show for it!

Was there anything else you had in mind that you planned to implement with Terra, God, and Co.?

oh well!!! honestly like I said in my past tags, a lot of my focus is the x-zero series (ignore that I barely draw them they’re just. hard to draw😞) so I have a Lot more ideas for them but!!!

I am trying to figure out a sunstar backstory (kinda like. 60-79% ish done) if that counts

also trying to figure out some stuff for the other droids!!!! just. tackling one thing at a time and starting with my favs first😭

I plan to do more ra moon and stardroid stuff in the future though!!! they’re rlly interesting and it sucks they barely have any canon content :(

X-Whips Battle Network AU OC - GAIA.exe

I originally drew this NetNavi alongside the others in the line-up picture, but I realised I never actually posted this one, so... remedying that today😅

This is GAIA.EXE, based on the Star Droid Terra from Rockman World V/Mega Man V for the Game Boy. To briefly explain her rough backstory idea, (SPOILERS FOR BATTLE NETWORK 6)she is an amalgamation of remaining data left from Colonel, Iris and the Cybeasts from their final battle at the end of the game. After the game's events, said data fragments combined into a new form and identity. I never settled on whether she'd be a friend or foe, but I did see her being similar to Bass at first, wandering the cyber world until she found herself in the hands of a new NetOperator.

A space droid that works under the command of Duo. Theia is from an ancient civilisation that once resided on the moon. She keeps a quiet eye on earth when Duo is busy and alerts the IGPO of any Stardroid or alien threat in his stead. She prefers to keep out of direct earthly affairs and maintains a low profile when on earth.

Theia has a long history of fighting in galactic wars and acting in rebellion to free her own kin from the suppressive forces that destroyed her home planet. She's a respected commander among her people.

Theia can absorb different energy types in to her body to purify them in to justice energy, though her ability comes with the risk of falling to corruption herself if she's not careful. She's a strong robot that rivals Terra in strength, however, gravitational fields heavier than that of the earths moon make her more sluggish in movement as her body is not yet modified to adapt to such changes and is more fit to move around in zero to low gravity space. Theia also shares the weakness of physical and percussive damage the same as Stardroids while being resistant to plasma and energy weapons.

Her main weakness is Search Snake as an odd side effect.

While my motherboard pretends to function, here, quick! A mockup of a vision I had for the LEGO JRPG page on Virtually Isolated! The problem mainly is getting good, clean PNG's of the characters. I also don't have the majority of the toys anymore. The party had a boat that they turned into an airship later on! I had a bag of little monster creatures which I would use as enemies and I used to have the cool lego horse. But! In the end, it's more about the fun story telling junk I did. I was like 8, I took names from all over the place! Mushra is just from Shinzo, Mikau is the Zora from Majora's Mask, Dyne is FF7, the 2 original planets are called Gaia and Terra, At the end Omega arrived and is then cast aside by an even greater being called Omecha which was a modified CIS droid with massive wings and a tail from the same parts. It's not some literary genius I wanna bring to the world, I just like the idea of making a tribute to one of my favorite past times from my childhood. Playing JRPG's and making my own with my LEGO blorbo's

Hi again! I assume most of the art you post of Dione would be pre-MMV? Do you have any thoughts on what her fate would be like post-MMV? Or the other stardroids or moons?

Yes, most of the art of Dione is 'pre-MMV'. Post-MMV I have visualized a bit before in one sketch comic, but to sum it up she miraculously survives just a bit after being caught up in the destruction. It's left vague and up for interpretation on what she really does from then on except for some 'what-ifs'/AUs, but without an exact purpose to extract from anymore and seeing how everything they've done for the sake of their creator was actually rendered useless, Dione might just be wandering aimlessly from then on or just sitting in one spot waiting for something. Maybe she feels a slight sense of relief that all of the fighting has ended but is also dreading the fact that now she lives on as a useless entity (in her own words and thoughts). For the other stardroids, I imagine it's a similar case though maybe not as hopeless as Dione's whole schtick. Something like Terra being unable to process the losses they've taken and having to come to terms with their creator is long gone; this whole time of having to take a leaderly role and being bestowed very high expectations to carry out Ra's wishes being for what is essentially nothing bothers him greatly. That's just one part I can imagine so far and I like to bounce around multiple ideas and look at other interpretations by other people, lol The existence of the other moons and other stardroids fall into this one tidbit I didn't explain as much or at all previously in that many of these space guys were produced in mass and divided into squadrons to conquer an assigned galaxy/solar system, etc. - (Inspired by a friend's idea for this one, huge props to them, especially with calling the main droids the 'Milkyway Squadron' iirc) So they may or may not know of what happened and believe to just move on with what they were supposed to do.

btw I don’t know if I ever mentioned this, but Terrans don’t carry blasters, they carry guns. Nevaeh doesn’t have a blaster that shoots laser. She shoots real ass bullets. They’re made of Terrinite, of course, so they can absolutely wreck a droid.

BUT!! if someone with a lightsaber tries to parry a bullet!! CANONCALLY!! it ends with lots of shrapnel to that persons face. Which the Mandolorians knew and which is why they used “slug throwers” (guns with bullets) in the Mando Jedi Wars.

i watched the propane evangelion video like 30 times in a row & because im hyper fixating on star wars at the moment i immediately started imagining a star wars eva fussion (that is also gonna take inspo from battlefield terra cos it's like one of my favourite homestuck fanfics and the star wars pacific rim fic that exists and I've read/Listened the the podfic of like 4 times, )

where giant dragons from wild space have appeared and started eating suns, so the jedi devise mecha to fight them

except take the aspect of the galaxy putting aside their differences to face this new threat a slight step further,

from a certain point of view that is,

because Darth Plagueis is an expert at manipulating the force inside living things right? and there's this certain thing you can do with Sith Alchemy to enhance and warp living things turning them into Chrysalides more commonly known as sithspawn. and the Jedi are getting pretty desperate, and what good scientist, what good sith, would pass up the opportunity to experiment on such a large number of force adepts

Jedi don't have families the way other cultures do (except for maybe the Mandalorians), but they do have bonds between masters and padawans, so

you take a willing Jedi master, you, warp them, reconfigure them, make them stronger, and you use that bond as an anchor, for the new knight with an unsevered bond to control them, and maybe it doesn't go so well at first and you have to inlist the help of Mandolore's famed Armorers to build the Thing you have turned the Jedi master into some kind of restraining armour, maybe they figure out that the mental strain is just too much for one knight and they need their own padawan to act as an auxiliary pilot of sorts

but well the thing about losing a sun is that gravity gets kinda, funky, planets spin out of orbit with nothing to orbit, they go flying off disruption other systems orbits like a game of pool played on the galaxy's largest not so taught tarpaulin, and that really fucks with hyperspace lanes

so yeah they really have to do everything they can, even if it's at the cost of horribly unethical experiments inflicting untold mental, physical, and spiritual trauma on the order's youngest

idk how the clones play into this shit but u bet they do, maybe it was the galaxy's first or second attempt to deal with the dragons, just throw a fuck ton of droids & 'meat droids' at the problem while they figure out how to get the Mecha Jedi functional

This is related to the poll warning it gets kinda sad. So this briefly also takes place during the war as well and my version only the Star Droids will be in this as we’ll sense more than likely we will never see them in the FC universe. Keep in mind this is obviously not canon. 

In this universe I figured that the Star Droids would have destroyed the planets they disappeared after and leave but when they come back the war between humans and robots, but before that Terra has a son she created but he leaves, after the Terra goes to Earth first to see what’s happened and how human race survived. She then discovers what started the war and just stick around to see what the outcome will be either because they would either destroy each other or they will be to weak and destroy everything on earth. And around this time is when she meets Dr. Light and and his creations he made (Aki and Daini) and because she’s essentially a space robot and sense she thought she destroyed the whole human race before she and her sisters where entrapped she was curious to see what else humans made after they left. She becomes friends with Dr. Light and little by little she starts to tell him but they alternately keep it a secret for obvious reasons. Fast forward to when the war ended and the twins where reset Terra stayed on Earth to not destroy it but to try to help people then they marry. But when Daini went missing she and Dr. Light tried to look for him but have one of the twins active and Suna is there as well and they don’t know about the other twin. On day Terra found where Sgt. Night was keeping Daini and went to go find him (also Aki kind of just follows her because he doesn’t know what’s going on) but afte she found him she gives Daini half her core, but might finds out that she found him not knowing that she gave him half her core, he again takes him and she tries to follow him keeping in mind that because she gave half the core she would be able to find the other half therefore find the missing twin but she runs into her siblings who are not happy with the fact she chose to stay and not do as they where made to do, and demand that they destroy the planet with the resin being that humans are essentially horrible and a mistake, after Terra refuses they fight her and try to take her back to the ship to reset her but before they could do that Aki gets discovered and so the other Star Droids try to destroy him because they hate the fact that Terra chose him and the others over her siblings.He does ended up getting destroyed but after she stopped her siblings by entrapping them in the same prison they where in, she takes Aki home to Dr. Light but because of how badly damaged Aki was because of the Star Droids (keep in mind this is before he finds out he can become mega man) Terra realizing this and that he suffered bad head trauma/damage and Aki’s memory card was damaged, so all his memories had to be transferred to a new one, then that memory chip was given to Mini. Because of this Terra didn’t not want him to keep dying over and over again at the risk of it being as bad or worse she gave the last half of her core to Aki so even if he does die he’ll just keep coming back and won’t need a new body every time and also hopes he will find the other twin. But because of this there was not other power substitute to keep her alive so she ultimately dies. At the end he lost his memories of the incident but still remembered Terra.

Amongst the dreams I keep gathering most days of the week as of late, I got a few ones about Kate, Ava & Shoshona. One was earlier in the story, (may or may not had one at the middle of it?) and had two-three at the later parts (esoterical + technological ascension process, navigating the new body capabilities & some more info about the overall "Rogue Servitors" future of my setting past the Blackhand Servitor narrative proper itself); Essentially have to work my way down from my current overview perspective into the mundane lives I essentially build for:

Anthropomorphic lifeforms, angels, devils, demons, fey and other supernatural entities may (or may not, you decide) live amongst mere human mortals here. Pretty much sorta like in mundane urban fantasy-like genres mixed with "Bangsian" fantasy genre.

The archons of this "simulation" also live amongst them while living in a older dying cosmos maintaining the simulation livid, lucid and comfortable? (see as per Tal & Tano Blackhand entries)
