This is about to be a longggggg ass rant. So I deeply apologize. But please let me cook. I’m just trying to not pass out and/or pass away from grief.

My original account @ohreallyfriend is my PRIDE AND JOY. I worked so hard on building my blog and making it feel like my own little thing. At first, I was unable to comment on my favorite writer’s masterpieces (*cough* @madamechrissy and @tonycries ) because I was MARKED AS SPAM AND IT WOULDNT LET ME. So I ended up reaching Tumblr Support on Twitter, and they helped me get my account fixed. Thanks again!

Once I gained the ability to actually interact on here, I started having so much fun. Hyping up my favorite fic writers is literally one of my favorite pastimes. It’s been giving me alot of joy. AND, I’ve even made a little series thing of my own that people like! Like I was so shocked to even have one like on my post. I’m very grateful to make some people laugh at my nonsense.

So I’m flying high. Feeling like a million bucks. Today I was actually about to post a story preview for my first fic ever. I’ve been building up the courage to share it for months.

Suddenly, WHAM. Tumblr starts glitching out and randomly kicks me out.

I try to log back in, and suddenly I’m met with this:

BLEUGH. SICK. When I tell you. I AM SO SICK. 🤢

I was JUST finding my footing on here. Tumblr saw me thriving and said, “NO! Fuck you.” 🖕🏾

FOR WHY?!?

Is it because I’m a little freaky 🙁🤏🏾

I’ve put in my ticket and contacted tumblr support on Twitter. They are helpful on there, and they got my blog back working within a few days after my last event. However I am in immense grief rn.

I don’t understand. 14 years on Tumblr—first as coffeestainedbooks.net, then as coffeeinked.com—and in a single breath, my blog was terminated. Just like that—"There’s nothing here."

14 years. If I had a child when I started, they would be in Secondary 2, full of hopes and dreams, exploring the world.

And just like that, Tumblr erased it all.

Why? In addition to this, I didn’t receive any violation or warning email. I have no idea what I did to deserve this. I didn’t even have a large following.

I’ve lost my portfolio—years of writing, memories, and milestones I carefully recorded.

The life I pieced together, hoping to one day share it with my future husband and children—all gone.

@staff my partner's blog (lolgirl607) just got terminated/closed for seemingly no reason and without warning. They've tried reaching out earlier this week about issues regarding sending/recieving messages but got no response. Today, they were forcibly logged out & asked to log back in, told their password was invalid, and then told their account was terminated.

Can we please fix this? Lolgirl607 doesn't make or post *anything* that goes against tumblr's TOS, they've been here for over a decade, so there should be no concern that they are a bot or that they've broken any rules. If there is an ACTUAL issue or a rule that was broken, it has NOT been communicated in anyway, nor were they given a chance to fix/change anything before this termination.

I had my account terminated last year for no reason with no warning. I didn't even know that was what had happened at first because I primarily use the app and all that happened was the dash suddenly stopped loading, it kept saying "keeps there's been a fucky wucky, try again". tumblr does this all the time so I assumed the app was broken or tumblr was down. it was only when I went to desktop to try and change my password that it said "this account has been terminated". I hadn't had an email to explain why or how to appeal or even that that was what had happened!

I eventually figured out how to appeal and sent the enquiry begging them to reinstate my account as I had no idea why it had been terminated and I couldn't even tell my friends that's what had happened or how to find me. I got an automatic "request received" response.

account termination wipes your entire account: your side blogs, your chat logs, everything. I tried to make a new throwaway account to at least let my friends know what happened, but it was terminated after 10 mins. again, no warning or email or anything.

after a week with no response I sent another enquiry about my terminated account. generic automatic response. another week passed, another enquiry sent, and then one every few days.

I think it was a bit over 6 weeks later that i got an email saying "your account has been reinstated". no reason why it was terminated in the first place, no explanation for the long wait with no responses to my many emails.

so when folks say blogs are getting terminated with no warning and no explanation and noone is answering their requests - this is the standard. this is how tumblr runs. if your account is terminated all you can do is send requests every few days asking why and begging them to reinstate your account. you won't get a response, or a reason, or an apology. it will take weeks. but this is apparently just how it goes.

About 2 weeks ago, my account was suddenly deleted for no reason! I was so shocked and so scared that I thought I would lose this account forever. Luckily, I finally got it back. And now I'm back!

i tried going to your blog earlier and my wifi was being weird so it showed the “eh?” and “this blog does not exist” screen and i was like NOOOOOOOO

That would be so bad. I had my 1st blog for about a year before it got terminated. Having my 2nd blog get terminated after less than 1/2 a year would be even worse. But no matter what I'll always be back.

Hey its the blog formerly known as dannymasters :( i think i got termed but idrk how to check i just cant do anything on my tumblr so I made a throw away to ask if you could confirm my blog being deleted by staff or something. Idk why it would have but it may have something to do with the “masters” part since the tag is blocked too.

Yeah, I can't reach your blog either. Definitely contact Support (https://www.tumblr.com/support) about this and select "Terminated account" from the category drop-down menu. Use an email address different from the one your account was under, if possible, just in case your email got blocked, but include that address in the information you send. You should get an automatic response back (a support ticket) from Tumblr. If you don't, try another email address.

It may take some time to get your account restored. Support is ridiculously understaffed.

But you're right, it sounds as if "masters" might indeed be one of those flagged words—I don't know how, since I've seen usernames as wild as "blorbopussy" on here. Maybe they're trying to cut down on porn bots by applying a blanket flagging system, which is what they did back in 2018 and was utterly, utterly dumb. Also, if you recently deleted and remade your account, it might have gotten flagged in the system as being spam. Who knows, it's Tumblr. But Support should be able to answer your questions.

I hope you get all this nonsense straightened out and get your account reinstated 🤞 good luck!

my tumblr(s) got terminated earlier today, with no reasoning or notification at all. Watch out, and make sure to send an email to tumblr support immediately if this happens to you!

EDIT: it was a glitch on tumblrs end! they were quick with fixing it. thanks tumbla.

oh god because what if I never actually get my account back I am so fucking terrified. I don't even know whats actually going to help at this point and I have to rely on a random hopefully legit reddit account to hopefully save me which bless the heart of whoever's running it but also this is a very Unique customer service experience

this is just stressing me out so much tumblr please do better I need a VPN for safety reasons but here I am sacrificing that so I can post this and maybe hopefully reach someone somewhere.

I don't think this will work but @support @staff hi my main account automatic-chainsaw got termed yesterday for no reason other than likely using a VPN and mistakenly tripping a spambot detection algorithm
