HC that Tenmama, Tenpapa, Saki and Toya all worry about Tsukasa becoming a sleepwalker, purely because they all think he may topple over his balcony of a room and they'll just hear a THUD!! before finding him on the stairs.
He'd be fine but it'd still worry them.

Oh, that's good to know! I haven't read that one, thank you for telling me, I'll definitely check it out now
I couldn't stop thinking since your post about wxs parents, or more specifically the tenma parents, bc they actually interest me a lot
Because like, the tenma mom DOES actually come up sometimes in saki and tsukasa's side stories and an area conversation. And not just the fact she taught them to play piano, i mean more familial situations. She even appears by herself and it's usually when they're at the house and she seems really sweet and caring actually
And also whenever Tsukasa brings her up (which he seems to do more often than Saki? Or at least from the stories I've read, i might be wrong) he speaks of her in a way that seems quite fond and might imply that she is around at the house at least usually
In contrast, though, the tenma dad almost NEVER comes up. Like the only time I remember him being mentioned (that is NOT about tsukasa bringing up That Show they watched as kids or the family visiting saki at the hospital bc that's obvious they're there) was once in the hinamatsuri event about how he bought the doll stand and some helmet when they were little? smth about how he impulse buys things
And that was it. He didnt even appear
He's never actually appeared by himself at the house or any side story to my knowledge (do correct me if I'm wrong) and he doesn't SEEM to be around the house on a daily basis at all
Even in the past when tsukasa stayed at home alone it was tenmama he got calls from, at least the one they showed us
Tenpapa's job is also never mentioned unlike tenmama's. And like tenmas are implied to be at least somehow recognisable or respected of a family, or at the very least by people like the Aoyagis since they are always stated to hold them in such regard, but is it just about tenmama playing the piano? Or maybe there's smth more about the dad that we don't know?
He's just. Such an enigma. We barely have any crumbs. Even in that image of baby tenmas seeing a show for the first time from the beginning of wxs main story shows a little bit of tenmama, like we can see her hair and all, but we can only see tenpapa's hand
It's just... where is he?? At work? What does he do?? Why don't they talk about him that much??? Why won't they show him in side stories??? Am I reading too much into it???
He makes me so mad pls Sega tell me more about the tenma family im insane about them
ANYWAY sorry for writing almost an entire post in your asks it was supposed to be shorter but I accidentally spiralled deeper
Anyway tsukasa and saki definitely love their parents and at the very least the mom seems like a rly caring and overall present person in their lives. They never say anything bad about the dad either if they ever do. They seem like good parents overall. The whole tsks neglect thing, yes, of course it wasn't a good decision to leave him alone at home, but it doesn't make them bad. Tsukasa never even mentioned anything that could imply he holds it against them and ik he is stupidly forgiving sometimes and sometimes forgets about himself but still. You get me. Besides we don't really know the extent of it all so shsuhd
We just need more tenma lore dammit
do not apologize for long asks they make me very happy to read :3
i didn’t know all that abt tenmamom though!!! i practically never read side stories so. yeah no wonder i missed her fjbsjdbajdn
sega please give us more tenmadad content. or any at all really…..
and yeah!!! i can understand wanting angst but the tenmas are genuinely a happy family and they make me happy :3 i don’t think of his parents as bad even with tsukasa’s childhood bc like, it wasn’t something they wanted to do yk. doesn’t mean what happened with tsukasa wasn’t Bad ofc. either way i love the tenmas. sega can we get more tenma lore. please
#congrats to tenpapa for actually showing up for once on his daughters bday /silly#now give him to us more

Keep in mind it's just the opinions of the people I've been exposed to haha. The Generic Elitist type™, there's definitely more classical people who like or at least neutral at pop music and are more open-minded in general. But being in the industry does inevitably come with biases and thought he is not fully in that black and white mentality I do believe Harumichi is a rather severe case.
Does he consider Saki's career choice as better than Toya's and set her as an example?
In the terms of her hanging out with more "straight-laced" people, maybe. Musically, probably not by much, if any. I think Harumichi is more preoccupied with the kind if music Touya played rather than if he was successful, so a lot of it ties in into classical being superior to other genres. Leo/need is (irrc) a pop-rock group which isn't that much better that street (a mix of freestyle, rap, and seemingly pop - keep in mind that street music is either only a genre in-universe or isn't meant to be a genre as much as the style of performance, so it's kinda hard to tell what they mean by Harumichi hating street music. Kohane's solo from KIUAN is pretty much just pure pop).
Does he value the keyboard and think of it as a worthy instrument like a classical piano or would he think she should've sticked to the latter?
Synth/keyboard isn't even considered a "piano" in classical circles, per se. Which does have it's reasoning, as the key weighs, spacing, and the technique is very different from "acoustic" piano and a lot of finely-tuned skills from piano playing won't transfer to keyboard and vice versa. It's kind of how classical violinist don't usually consider electric violinists worth their salt because acoustic anything is much more unforgiving in terms of technique than the respective electric option (but also provides additional challenges that acoustic instrument don't have, especially depending on the genre. Not one option is inherently better or worse unless we're going into specific situation at hand in which a preference might be discussed). So, we can safely say Harumichi doesn't respect keyboard, either at all or at least as much as he would a piano.
What does he think of the music she plays, since it's not classical?
A wide spread opinion is that all pop music sounds the same, basically. Pop music, including rock, rarely diverts form 4/4 time and common chord progressions. It doesn't need to, because what it can't express through complicated music, it compensates for lyrically. However people heavily immersed in classical lyrics, which typically doesn't have lyrics and voice, find music with lyrics redundant in a way. Which is also among the reasons why so many classical musicians are actually not fans of opera. So there's both no appreciation for the instrumental which is likely not impressive to them and no desire to dig into the lyrics. This is something that is held against the genre overall rather than individual artists. There's some nuance for this in (pop)rock and I think some classical elitists are actually willing to give rock music a pass, especially one that's innovative and creative with their instrumental part, but Leo/need probably wouldn't be one of them all things considered.
Has he actually ever listened to leo/need?
Unlikely. He doesn't even take the time to listen to Touya's work until he literally begs to. This is somewhat explained in-universe, but I do think his prejudice goes deep enough that he'd not willingly engage with Leo/need, if he was even aware if their activity, except maybe out of politeness.
I'd be pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong though. Like I said, I think there's more to him than his character archetype of overly strict classical musician dad.
Harumichi forced to listen to leoni by having tenpapa play the leoni soda advertisement 15 times in a row during a joint dinner sobbing his eyes out about how proud he is of his daughter /silly
But thank you!!! This is very insightful and really cool :0 all that is to say though it's moreso unlikely he'd be very enthusiastic about Saki's music. Tenma-Aoyagi dinners must be so funny what does this man even see in the Tenmas I need to know. Is it only tenmama and harumichi talking about classical 2 hours straight
Poor guy saw three kids with so much classical potential and one went to sing in the streets, the second switched to an electric counterpart and changed to pop and the last one decided being a clown is a better career choice. I'd be bitter too /silly /j
#asks#jeiseny tag#i dont have much insight into what u said since i dont know much abt it but this was rly rly cool tysm!!!#every day the relationship between these two families gets funnier and more absurd#prsk#project sekai#harumichi aoyagi#saki tenma

AU’s that are for nobody (except me) sound off!
Halfa Tsukasa!
Young Tsukasa Tenma he was just 16
When his best friend built a very strange machine
Designed to make a show better than ever seen-
The partial death happened during wonder halloween, Rui discovered ectoplasm (although he didn’t know that’s what it was) and realized he could use it as a cheap, reusable fuel source for his creations. So his robo zombie had an ectoplasmic fuel core, which Tsukasa accidentally smashed (the robot and its core) during his fall, causing it to flow out all over. The ectoplasm reacted with the exposed electrical parts and fried Tsukasa who was in the middle of the mess, killing him. Partially. Since there was so much ectoplasm it uhh “rearranged his molecules” turning Tsukasa into a half ghost, half human instead of a full corpse!
A portal to the ghosts zone also opened right in that spot and it’s tied there until Tsukasa fully dies. So now any manner of ghost can pass (haha) through freely, and since Tsukasa opened the portal it’s, of course, his responsibility to put any ill intended ghosties back in their zone!
And Rui should probably also help out considering it’s also his fault this all happened. Emu and Nene are good friends who saw it all go down and are trying to convince the other half of the group they aren’t at fault and have nothing to take responsibility for, while also making sure they don’t get themselves killed, or fully killed.
I like to think ghosts from different places will reflect their culture’s idea of what would be expected for a ghost to look like. So a lot of the ghosts the group sees would be based around Japanese myths about spirits. Tsukasa looks like he does because he has to follow the halfa rule of just being themself but inverted colors, and doesn’t know how to manipulate ectoplasm well enough to change how he looks in ghost form.
Also considering making Tenpapa’s high paying, unknown job be something in the government that covers up the existence of ghosts. Normally by exterminating them, occasionally they will keep one alive for experimentation. And since there’s now a huge increase in ghost activity in Tokyo, centered seemingly in an area very close to where the Tenma’s live, well it seems like a no brainer to assign Tenpapa to that area. So now he’s suddenly home a lot more, talking about safety procedures dealing with ‘unknown threats’, all while hunting down his own son. Just to bring back the fun ‘my parents want me dead’ angst from DP!
This ended up longer than expected, oops.

They were so evil for making tenpapa just these dots. I'm going to bite someone. Just let me draw him 😭😭😭😭
You are right it is evil 😭 I couldn't even believe they'd Do that to him,,,
But you know what at least it gives more space for headcanons. Personally I believe Tendad should wear glasses for example. Boom you can't prove me wrong

YOU TELL THEM LYNNIE YOURE SO RIGHT
Also literally tenmama (and tenpapa but he barely appears) are so nice and sweet in every interaction we have of them??? and Saki and kasa talk about them so fondly and clearly love their parents so much???? They've never said a bad word about them??
Like???? Do we REALLY need to talk about this again??? Don't base your opinion on them on just one scene that isn't even so bad and actually read the stories where they appear before judging them. You shouldn't say anything about tenma parents unless you read at least 3 stories/interactions with/about them that are NOT the dazzling lights event story
#And stop making everything about tsukasa angst omg#he's literally my fave and i love putting him through misery as much as the next person#but this is just unnecessary villanising#tenma parents are lovely and i wish theyd get sprites ONLY to accurately draw them loving and caring for their children so much#yes they arent perfect. yes they made mistakes. no this DOESNT MAKE THEM BAD PARENTS AND DEFINE THEM WHOLE#fhnfnn#im sorry i really dont like ranting but this whole argument is just so unnecessar#sigh :(
