Tell me doc, how bad are Shadow's emotional injuries going to be from Temptest maybe trying to hurt him and just- being unable to connect with any of these vers of her bc he knows none of them are "real" and that there's the chance they'd all disappear once he gets Matilda back -

He definitely does not enjoy it! But he's able to push past it to focus on the task at hand. Our idea for Shadow is basically to have an opposite arc of Sonic, where he refuses to believe these counterparts are their real friends until he has direct contact with someone who is one of the most important people to him now. Then he starts to have his own doubts. But like I said, he pushes past it and refuses to let it distract him from the end goal. The thoughts and feelings are most definitely there under the surface tho

I really didn’t want to make this, but my feelings around the subject were confirmed. Content warning for discussing ableism regarding My Little Pony: The Movie 

(I know it was released in 2017, but I wasn’t in the fandom at the time so I have no clue how much this has been discussed, and this is about Temptest)

Tempest lost her horn as a child, and then her friends left her, and she became evil. Seems simple enough, and just another “friendship saves the day” setup. What could possibly be the problem there?

She’s the only major disabled character in any FIM content, and she’s the major villian. To make matters worse, her reason for becoming a villian is becoming disabled as a child and lost her friends because her disability made them uncomfortable. Her horn made her magic only work in destructive ways, meaning her disability made her destructive... and her entire goal is to able-bodied, and the Storm King says he’s the only one who can make her “whole” which she believes.

Sure, you could make the arguement that her horn still being broken at the end of the movie and doing the fireworks was her learning to accept herself, but you wouldn’t be making that arguement in good faith. You can’t make up for an entire film in the last 5 to 10 minutes, and if anything she learned Twilight cares more about her than the Storm King does and that’s it. “That wasn’t their intention” even if you are correct, that doesn’t change the end result. The majority of able-bodied people are ableist even if they don’t realise it.

I’m not here to argue with anyone about this. It’s just upsetting. You can still like the movie and the character, I really don’t care. But that doesn’t mean that the media isn’t ableist. I’m exhaused, and before you ask me to explain to you why wanting to be able-bodied as a motive is ableist, go do literally any research.

Honestly, I kinda deserve this, thought the pirate as her own crew pushed her overboard.

She'd led them headfirst into a storm. She'd told them it was fine.

For weeks, their glory on the high seas foundered in a raging temptest that the Gods themself seemed to have crafted out of spite. After all, hadn't her parents prayed to them when she ran away? Hadn't they asked for her to turn back to her work as a farmhand?

She sank under the water and watched the ship's shadow buck about wildly above. So this was it, then. Good fucking riddance.

A tentacle wrapped around her waist and hoisted her up to above the ocean, holding her there as she watched her ship go under.

"Hello?" she called. "Why are you doing this to me?"

But the creature did not answer.

Zeref: Yes, I know he isn’t a canon Dragon Slayer, but I headcanon that he learned a couple (fire, from Igneel and Purgatory, from Irene). Zeref was alive for hundreds of years with nothing to do, he learned a bunch of different types of magic

I’ve decided that Mint Eye Morgan’s name is Tempest. It means “violent storm” in English.

Oooh, I like that! I think that's pretty edgy and it reminds me of Temptest Shadow from MLP. It is really Morgan aesthetic! Looks like I've just coined her theme song.
