small note about shippy posts : i am still aro lol

my tolerance of romantic content varies day to day, but, it is usually not very favorable !

that being said, Metaphor is my absolute beloved of a brainrotter, and its characters are dear to me. Metaphor fanwork is getting less hard to come across, but it's still relatively sparse. as such, I may be more willing to tolerate/ignore romance in there.

i may often feel uncomfortable around romance, but i do not feel uncomfortable around love ! love comes in all kinds, as they say, and me ? well i just ADORE character relationships ! analysing character relationships is my bread and butter, so if you make a good point on that, viewed romantically or not, i will be looking at it plainly !

anyway TL;DR :

i'm aro but i can ignore intended romantic implications of fandom posts to focus on the workings of a relationship

so this blog

I've thought about it, and as it happens, this, supposedly my personal blog, mostly ends up being current politics, worldly problems, random shit and in the end 0 of my art and many many things that make me feel like nothing good's happening in the world compared to all the bad.

I don't want to stop reblogging psas and calls for help, because then i'll feel like a shit person, but also... this blog isn't really a personal space for me like i thought it would be. I'm stuck between the potential guilt at not being proactive enough, and the feeling of just wanting to have my happy place with the things that I make and that I like.

As it stands, i don't want to drag myself down further. I have 5 followers on this sideblog, it's unlikely that people are going to be helped by the stuff I reblog, and I refuse to become a news channel.

So here's what we do :

I'm not going to reblog much serious matters anymore, nor any website discourse because that shit makes me depressed

i will still reblog individuals calls for help

I'll TRY focusing more on my art and the artists that i like

if I can get some hobbies in there that'd be nice too

I'm probably going to try cleaning up the blog archive, i'm sure it's about 75% negative stuff and I do not want that

doesn't mean there'll only be positive stuff from now on, shit happens

rebranding time, i mean i was always gonna change my url and stuff anyway ( new url : teka-chat )

i was gonna urge everyone to do a little art challenge ( drawing their own Metaphor campaign posters ) but i got busy...

Man I really wish there were more posts on Metaphor Refantazio on here.I've basically already seen most of the posts of it on here. Sad.

Maybe I'll just contribute myself then.

I'd love to do theories or just general gushing and excitement posts about the game.

Should also draw more fanart.

when my discord got hacked one of my coping mechanisms was rewatching videos about glitch pokemon and making more aliens inspired by them

teka is a country boy and anosi's first roommate. he lives with his uncle kju who owns a MASSIVE farm. teka is very enthusiastic about his uncle's farm and businesses and shares his harvests and cooking with those he meets, even if they don't like him (COUGH COUGH anosi). his magic is spraying a glitchy byssus from his head shell which he can use as a rope or a net. kju's magic is definitely mineral or flora-based

kulupu telo has some familiar looking foods but there are some. Phylogenic Distinctions... the cornlike algae ("lithomaize" or "pan kiwen") came from a group of algae with calcium in their cell walls, and the pomegranate and pepper came from a group of kelp that stores its spores in its sugary gas bladders

so pan kiwen always has a bit of a chalky crunch to the outside of its "kernels" but its flesh inside each is still soft and starchy. the flesh can be popped like earth corn--maybe the kernel flesh is heavy in spores that can fizz up? also the fruit kelp can be juiced, fermented, carbonated, and/or turned into an oil (oils r kept under the water in kulupu telo by the addition of heavier edible molecules, especially proteins)

worm eggs can be eaten stove cooked or raw. worms that just start to emerge from their cocoons are typically eaten cooked. the cold seep-looking worms r especially crunchy 8^) anemone flowers are also a delicacy cooked or raw

kju's kelp pomegranate soda is a staple at their farm and a must try in kulupu telo!

i don't really have any "hot takes" but here's a factoid about SEGAU : Vanilla adopted her after her first appearance ( in canon that would be CD ) so she's legally Cream's sister and inherited the Rose name from Vanilla

she should wear shades of green and blue more often, they really look good on her ( and i'm not just talking Sonic green and blue, though that's pretty cute too )

if you're wondering what's happened to me, well as i said before, I started up school again after 4 years. i'm a student now.

and maybe even more dramatically than i expected, i don't have time to think about much else than school other than during weekends. ( and even then, i was so exhausted i spent the entirety of last saturday in bed )

so i haven't been on tumblr like... at all. sorry about that. it'll keep happening though.

New the amazing digital circus chapter came out and I want to talk about it

First the Candy Canyon Kingdom is a very nice setting, is basically just sugar rush from wreck it Ralph but I still like it

I like how they foreshadowes Pomni’s escape from the test room at the beginning with her falling on a cube causing the colíderes to go awry y send her flying to the ceiling

Gumigoo was great, I like how to shows the AI’s not being evil since the made up story Caine made is him stealing the syrup for his village, and even after discovering his live was a lie he still tried to help his lads

On the topic of “non evil ai” after hearing how Gumigoo was a good guy and the Fudge calling the princess wretched, I for one second thought she would be a twist villain, but nope, she’s really a good person

I also like how Caine and Bubbles seems to be the most primitive AI’s

The princess is calm and nice, Gumigoo friends are dumb but in a cartoony and not AI like way, Gumigoo is very good at being like a human, even Fudge is aware his a despicable and disgusting creature (although not for the murders but that’s just how he was made)

Meanwhile Caine can’t read the room or understand human emotions besides boredom being bad for their stability while not understanding the problems of deleting NPC’s the players get attached to, unlike Gumigoo which understood revealing the truth would be bad for them

Also the test room not having Gumigoo’s mum but having Fudge implies Caine planned they would fall into the pit, and since they couldn’t escape from that situation without fudge’s help implies letting Fudge into the kingdom was the way the adventure was supposed to end

Specially since Fudge was programmed to be able to walk in land, why else’s would he need it?

Caine doesn’t understand what can and can’t help their mental health so he wouldn’t see anything wrong in letting Fudge into the Kingdom

I find really funny how Jax was the evilest guy in the situation, unlike the Gloinks, here there’s a nuisance on the history with Fudge just being a monster in a pit (kinda like Moana, Maui isn’t pure evil and Teka isn’t evil either, Tamatoa is just vibing and waiting to do evil) but Jax is the one who wants to destroy the kingdom for the laughs

Note:fudge reminds me of “the great mighty POO” of conkers bad fur day

Also I really like how they didn’t brush of Kaufmo and showed they actually cared for him and is ultimately this act of kindness the thing that helps Pomni to see the circus as family

Note:notice how she didn’t add kinger to the ones saving her, maybe he didn’t appear because his hand wouldn’t be recognizable with the shading and all that but is still worth to mention

Also I like how Kinger acts supportive but forgets what he was saying mid sentence, I don’t know if he was faking madness or he’s really damaged. But I like how he really cares

Also the humans can just not go to Caine’s adventures like Zooble does which shows Caine isn’t evil but misguided

And before last I want to mention Caine not allowing other npcs in the grounds, he’s silence after saying “who knows what might happen” implies something, and seeing how some of the doors in the pilot have the faces of the mannequins implies he use to allow npcs but something happen

This makes me theorize someone MIGHT be a NPC, my money is on Kinger since he’s borderline unhinged and lasted for way too long to be normal

Also that would explain why there was a Queener, since the possibility of two humans getting the matching avatars is too small it makes me thing the two were NPC’s and during the accident Queener got deleted by something or someone and the only reason Kinger hasn’t abstracted is because he isn’t a human, him being a npc also explains how he knows so much of the circus

He might have been from a time NPC’s we’re allowed to be self aware of the circus being digital, maybe that’s why Caine hasn’t upgraded his AI since that would risk him going crazy or give up like Gumigoo almost goes

Also Maybe Kinger mental state must be because of Caine, if Caine deleted Queener then Kinger must have been angry but for some reason Caine choose to make him forget making Kinger the forgetful king he is now days but Caine must have forgotten about Kinger being a NPC

this is the same Caine who let that unfinished exit door roam around which caused Kaufmo to get abstracted, it wouldn’t surprise me he also forgot Kinger was a NPC

And for last I want to mention the last scene being a direct parallel of the last scene of the pilot, all the crew is reunited and Pomni comes to a realization as a version of the theme song starts

Except of being massive and dreadful, here is hopeful and calm. Instead of looking at the camera and ignoring everyone while going crazy with a crazy smile filled with despair, she focuses on the others and genuinely smiles

The camera starts moving away but in a much slower manner as the music slowly ends with a simple calm piano instead of a massive chaotic orchestra

The finale of episode 2 is a opposite of the pilot, being a small note of hope compared to the dreadful realization of Episode 1

(Loosely based on the fact Mufasa is adopted and Teka or Scar is technically heir to the throne)

A/N: it's been like two years since I've written for TWST, I just haven't been interested in the game that much but I still hold a special place in my heart. Just a small snippet

Leona remembers the sad stares the wet maids gave him when he was younger. The stares would get worse as he grew up.

Leona used to look up to his brother, that was before he heard the many whispers in the court.

"What will happen when he is older?".

"Do you think-".

"Oh shush you too!  It is forbidden!".

As the nosey child he was, he would practice his stealth skills by eavesdropping on the servants.

"Whatcha doing Leo-"

Leona ignored Falena, his eyes watching the servants from below.

"Hmm, Mama said it is rude to spy-".

"Hush! You'll give up our hiding spot!".

The two boys huddle close, watching from above as the servants work in the garden, idly speaking with each other.

"Why are we watching?"

"Not watching brother, learning".

"About?".

Leona got quiet, before pointing at one of them, "She is having an affair with the cook-"

Falena gasped,  "leo!".

Leona moved his hand, pointing at another, "He is from the queendom of roses, on the run from his family. He ran away here with his beloved".

Falena raised his eyebrow, "...how do you know all of this?".

"I like to listen to people talk". Leona looked at his older brother, "I also learned that people talk more when "You're sleeping".

Falena giggled, "Is that why you "sleep" in the garden?".

Leona held up his finger to his mouth, "Shh". Before giggling.

The two boys were very close, but as they aged they grew closer apart. Leona quickly learned that those hushed gossip that was juicy most of the time, if you listen to the right people, that gossip can be about you.

When Leona realizes he will never have his own throne, he is devastated at first he understands the reasoning but one night he walks past his parent's room, hearing familiar hushed whispers.

"It's becoming that time dea-"

"We are not discussing this-"

"My love- he deserves to know-"

"Silence!"

"... it's been brought to the church's attention... we must do-"

"Falena is our son. End of discussion".

"But he is not the firstborn-".

Leona's heart stopped.  He couldn't breathe, it's like the world stopped all movement.  He couldn't hear anything anymore, he didn't even register Falena's hand on his shoulder.

"Leo-"

"Don't".

Falena spun Leona around to face him.

Leona slapped Falena's hand off him, "Don't touch me-".

Falena gave Leona a look, "Leona what is going on".

Leona glared at Falena, "Did you know?".

"Did I know what-". Falena's face fell, "Oh... oh no no Leo- we-".

Leona felt his chest close, "you knew?". His sense of control shattered, he felt something in him, something heavy, like black ooze.

Falena grasped Leona's shoulders, "Hey, listen to me. We were going to tell you one day- we were".

Leona grasped Falena's wrist, "Don't. Touch. Me".

Slowly sand started to form from Leona's wrist, and a painful scream echoed the hall.

Leona snapped out of his daze, his father pulling him away from his- From Falena.

His mother screamed at him, ordering servants to grab clerics for Falena and then ordering Leona to be taken away.

The whole night was a daze, Leona remembers being locked away in his room for several days. Not even Kifaji visted him... Leona started to miss his boring lessons. Leona craved his father's love and after the attack, the only person who ever defended him... didn't even look at him anymore.

The whispers weren't so sad anymore, they sounded like they were terrified.

"Did you hear what he did?"

"Unquie magic like that? How is that a blessing?"

"Once considered the kingdom's blessing now the kingdom's curse".

Everything feels so beautiful. 

Sometimes even feeling the sun on your skin after staying inside for too long feels like getting blessed. And meeting those beloved to you too.

As soon as your eyes close and your head hits the pillow a small ray of sunlight tickles your sight. Looking for the source, expecting it to be an open window you are faced with the reddish tinted wood that exchanged places with the plain white walls of your bedroom. 

Looking around the old bed that squeaked with each movement was the almost totally new one that was identical to the one you used during your stays in sumeru, 

To confirm your suspicions you quickly open the wood framed windows, now looking at the multitude of people living their day to day life on the streets, the mother soothing her baby, the eremites patrolling and the small bakery that would humor your craving of your world's pastries, the owners being the nicest elderly couple and their daughter.

Breathing in the smell of cinnamon, cardamom and many sweet spices manage to peak your appetite, especially given that your dinner was an instant noodle soup and half a toast. Feeling the saliva pool behind your teeth at the thought of buttery and sweet pastries with a nice hot chocolate.

Quickly opening the door to the street you march outside, not caring that you were barefoot, even if sumeru was in the middle of a forest of sorts the worst thing would come out of it would be dirty feet but, if your memory doesn't fail you, there isn't any glass or metal shards to cut your feet with. If only your city's streets could be half as clean.

The warm air fans against your skin and white robe as you walk to the familiar bakery, by the sun and how little people were outside it must be past lunchtime. Hopefully there might still some candied nuts left from breakfast 

Rushing to the shop you speak with the employee, who seems stiff like a statue

" hello!~ Do you have any candied nuts left? The ones I always buy?-" as you keep talking the young girl didn't seen to know how to react

" i- uhm- yes-"

" Teka, why aren't you attending to the customer?" A masculine voice comes from behind, supposedly the kitchen " I'm sorry for my daughter, I don't know what got into her. What can I help yo-?" As he looks at your face he stays still for a second

" Hi, yes, I want two portions of candied nuts? I have been craving them for a while" silently nodding, the man goes inside the kitchen and five minutes later gives you a paper bag with some pieces of the desert " thanks! I left my wallet at home but please add this to my tab~ thanks!" 

Skipping down the roads to the port, the salty sea smell greeting you from your trip. The distant memories of the traveler and paimon catching and roasting fishes the first few weeks you arrived, the lantern rite and the stands of games and trinkets. Such nice memories

Sneaking under some roots and sitting down to hide in the shadow you dip your feet on the cool water and eating the warm nougat-like dessert sticking to your teeth. How kind of him, he must have made a batch just for you

Looking at the clouds lazily grouping and dissolving you feel your muscles loosen and you lean backwards, not caring to dirty the pristine white robe with dust or dirt

A heavy sigh leaves your chest, only one thought in your mind 'so I'm back'. It's a relief. The constant dread of not meeting them anymore no longer hanging on the back of your mind 

Feeling someone approaching you look at them, seeing nahida's surprised face and aether's gold eyes. Only a small smile forms on your mouth 

Aether is unsure of what to think, he should be happy that you finally appeared again, yet he can't help but shake the feeling that something is amiss

Looking over his shoulder to see you on the back of the boat as he and paimon go to Fontaine seeing you totally sprawled over the two seats sleeping with paimon cuddled up on your stomach. This certainly reminded him of the late night fishing sessions on Inazuma so he could get a polearm

" hey aether?" You mumble softly, fingers reaching for his braid and playing with the tip

" yes?"

" would you believe me if I said I returned to accompany you to Fontaine?"

He gulps, swallowing the tension forming on his throat " no. I wouldn't" he replies simply to which you only hum

A thick silence forms, each one of you focused on something different. Aether on getting there and you on the sway and bone chilling wind of the sea. 

Aether breathes in deeply before spewing something that he regrets saying as soon as he finished "I was scared you weren't going to return!"

 Paimon jumps on your stomach before being soothed to sleep and mumbling things about mora meat and chicken skewers.
