Lovely followers im here with a THB update

I’ve got the full chapter sent to my lovely beta @petri808 whose gonna give everything a look and the final adjustments will be completed as soon as possible so then i can get it posted. also with this i can get the ball rolling again and i can finally write (sorta) so chapters should be more consistent

disgruntled because all the interesting revelations I’m having about myself and my map of the world are just retreading TEITB so my brain is very ‘did we have to take acid to know these things’ but it DOES feel new and revelatory

I don’t think I was taking it seriously when I was sober or at least

there were parts of me that were looking-away

and now I’m not looking away (I think), and the sense of relief is enormous – “Is that all?”

and huh, there’s a lot of shame around this but I don’t need to carry more than is strictly necessary

I really want to convey to future self and also others that it is possible to lay this down, want to point at that (1) it’s a burden you might not have noticed, (2) you can’t lay much of it down and that’s why it’s a burden, (3) you still have the power to trim the unnecessary bits and you should totally do it because

it sucks – it’s a sucky part of being human, that you have two parts of your mind turned against each other like this, you almost certainly have tension-points in your mind’s map of the world where you can’t think clearheadedly about the competitive game where you want someone’s map of the world to be in a certain way (usually that you’re competent and good and desirable), and you’re currently manipulating them. YOU CAN’T LOOK DIRECTLY AT HOW YOU’RE MANIPULATING THEM BECAUSE IT INTERFERES WITH YOUR OWN ABILITY TO WIN IF YOU DO. AND YOU SHOVE IT DOWN AND IT FEELS GOOD TO SHOVE IT DOWN BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU’RE SHOVING IT DOWN BECAUSE YOU KNOW IT’S BAD. IT’S EGO-SYNTONIC TO SHUT IT DOWN. Sorry, I do feel shouty about this! It’s how it feels in my own head.

but there are parts of the suck you can get rid of just by noticing it and acknowledging and... calling a ceasefire, I’m imagining a bunch of regions of brain, or insect territories, that suddenly are able to stop expending effort on something, a war collapses. You can stop expending all this effort on fighting each other, brain-parts. Relax. Relax the muscles of your mind that grinding in tension against each other.

First off i wanted to say that i am in LOVE with the dynamic you've created in Most Ardently and i cant wait to see where you take it. Ive been holding off on The End is the Beginning since i havent finished s8 yet and i wanted to check if i should really do that before reading it or if itll make sense anyway. I love your writing sososo much!!!

TEITB will make sense without s8 I think, but the beginning sort of spoils the ending for s8 so keep that in mind.

Who:Sam Evans Where:'The Snake' Mulholland Highway, LA When: 10th Sept 2025 Notes: Under the influence of cocaine, Sam pushes his Ducati to its limits on a winding road through the Santa Monica mountains in the early hours of the morning..

Trigger Warning: Character death

He felt the burn of the coke he had taken zinging through his veins, making his heart thump harder like it was going to burst out of his chest, as the wind whipped around his leather clad torso, without mercy. He'd partied hard tonight, losing his grief, his desolation, his soul, between the thighs of strung out high groupies and in the blessed fog of some of the best shit he'd snorted in the past year.  He fucking loved it, he told himself, pushing away the image of how Mercedes would look at him if she knew. Fuck her. Fuck her and all her shit. This is what she'd brought on him. Fucking selfish bitch.. "Fuck you!" he muttered into his helmet, the words stark and vehement, as he went full throttle at 100 miles an hour down the winding highway, the hills dark on his left, taking each bend fast and hard, pushing the bike to its limit. "Damn you to hell Mercedes! Damn you to fucking hell..you selfish, worthless bi-" his voice cracked on the word, as tears began streaming down his face, a sob choking his air. Because he knew..knew that she would never have wanted this..that she wouldn't have left him. not really. Not ever..like he'd never have left her..Even if he'd felt like dying after Madison, and there had been endless days he'd wanted to end his life..but the thought of her, of Mercedes had stopped him.

She would have never left him, he knew that, deep down inside where the memory of their love still burned hot and strong. No matter what the damn coroner had ruled. Suicide. Such an ugly word.She would never have done that. What had happened was a mistake, an awful, fatal mistake. But she had never intended to leave him. But in his grief, he had sullied the memory of her, of how they'd loved,fiercely without artifice or reservation. Just them. Then Madison..all those memories tarnished and broken by his own actions. “Oh God..I’m sorry Cedes..So damn sorry..” If anyone was damned it was him,just him. He'd broken every single promise he'd ever made her in the wake of her death, unable to function, unwilling to face reality.  He had trodden almost half of his life spent loving her into the dirt, in an endless cycle of place holder pussies and  the temporary panacea drug abuse would bring him. "I can't do this..I can't.." He looked at the road ahead, taking note of the hairpin bend coming up but doing nothing to slow the Ducati down. He should slow down..he needed to slow down..but the link between his brain and his hands seemed to be severed and he entered the bend the motorcycle unable to handle the sheer gradient of turn at such a speed and he felt it slide from underneath him, his body now airborne. It was almost like slow motion,the dark night around him silent and still as he came down hard on the asphalt, the rough surface ripping through his leather jacket and jeans, his head connecting with the road, pain exploding along his skull, before he felt a hard, sickening crack at the base of his skull. Her image swam before his eyes, his angel, his light, and he reached out trying to reach her face one last time, before the world around him went black. Within the hour, the news crews and emergency services would be crawling all over the crash site, but for now, Sam Evans lay lifeless, alone, on a deadly stretch of road, finally at peace..for now.

hihi! question, this won't have any ships in it right?

Funny thing is.....it's very ambiguous and open :)

Meaning, they each have their own moments together that could be romantic leaning or friendly, depending on how you interpret it.

Being a multi shipper myself, it would be Kólasis trying to decide something like that

I will say this, future Matt and Honey (WTFuture Waitress) are in a relationship together and help raise Bunny (Beaster Bunny girl) for plot reasons!

Other than that, it's up to you guys, the audience, to decide whether you want to look at the boys' interactions as romantic or friendly :)

Hello! First, I'd like to say how grateful I am that so many of you like this and for all your support! I'm literally at a loss of words, thank you!

Second, you guys don't have to worry about that, the most "problematic" thing I've done is defend kids in the Welcome Home fandom (if any of you are in there....you know what was going on). Otherwise, I'm clean as a whistle!

Lastly, I wouldn't say it's "better". as everyone's scars are different but still equally valid, but his scar will look different from TBATF's Tord. Here are the references to give you a better idea what you're going to be looking at

The comic is a complete rewrite of the infamous, yet controversial, series “The Beginning and the Friend” that was posted on DeviantArt and has since been canceled as of December 11. 2023.
