"Wait," Scott whirls around to face Malia. "We got these directions from a squirrel?"

The look on his face is priceless, and she and Kira dissolve into giggles.

"You have a little something," Malia says, brushing away a leaf that's stuck to his cheek. "We're quoting a movie. Do you really think I got directions from a squirrel?"

Scott grins sheepishly and shrugs.

"Wait," Kira says. "Have you actually..."

Scott nods at each of them. "Wolf, fox, coyote. Is a were-squirrel really that far-fetched?"

"You're joking," Malia says, "right?"

Scott's eyes sparkle. "What do you think?"

Kira wraps her arm around Malia. "I think if you're friends with a squirrel who can give us directions, we might actually need them. Didn't we pass this same stump ten minutes ago?"

Scott glances at it and back at them. "Guess I'll see if I can find Gregory." He ducks his head and grins. "Though, I wouldn't mind being stuck in the woods together all night."

Malia wouldn't mind that either. But. "Wait... really? A were-squirrel?"

August Character of the Month

Saving the best for last! August gives us our last member of the original Beta Trio: Erica Reyes.

For this entire month, the goal is to create rarepair content that includes Erica. These can be romantic, platonic, sexual, familial, etc. Any kind of relationship welcome. Ditto for the medium. Wanna write a fic? Please do! Fanart? Yes. Mood boards? Absolutely! Be as creative as you want!

Stiles peaked through the door. Monroe's chronies were laughing over something. Behind him, Scott stiffened and Stiles glanced over his shoulder, "Caught a scent?"

"Something burnt?" Scott squinted through the opening. His eyes flashed red and Stiles yelped as he was dragged back. Scott roared as he burst into the room.

The hunters raised their guns, but they never had a chance to get a shot off. Stiles gaped at the alpha as they slumped down the wall Scott had thrown them into.

"Holy shit, dude!" Stiles exhaled, eyes wide. Scott ignored him though and Stiles choked when he saw why. The air in his lungs rushing out. His stomach twisting.

On the floor, body motionless, with charred clothes and blood trickling from his lips lay Theo.

As Stiles froze at the sight, Scott jumped into action. Again. He yelled for Theo, shook up, even tried to take his pain. By the end, Scott was crying.

His heart pounding in his ear, Stiles took a shuddering breath. His gaze flicked around the room. The car battery. A bucket of water. Metal restraints and wire fencing.

It didn't take much to connect the dots. Stiles blinked as tears blurred his vision. Scott was sobbing. He cursed as he pounded at Theo's chest.

"You're not allowed to die! Not like this!" Scott screamed. Still trying. Though he knew better than Stiles it was useless. If Theo wasn't healing... it was already too late.

But Scott tried anyway. He always did.

Stiles gulped down air. His chest heaved, a tightness pressing down as his lungs refused to work. He ducked his head, gasping. The sob slipped out anyway.

Eyes squeezing shut, he didn't see the flutter of lashes. The pause from Scott.

"Your chemosignals reak," Theo croaked out, voice cry and cracking. Both Scott and Stiles startled. A faint laugh from Scott, wet and stuttering.

"We thought your were dead," Scott told him and Theo just hummed. He exhaled, slow and deliberate.

"Had to make the idiots think I was, so they'd put their guards down," Theo explained, licking his lips, "Might have goaded them a little too much."

The chimera still hadn't opened his eyes. Or moved. Stiles didn't quite believe it. Didn't trust it.

His mind could play tricks on him, especially after the nogitsune episode. Stiles swallowed thickly, "Scotty? Is he really..."

"Yeah," Scott nodded, head bobbing up and down as he looked back at Stiles. He smiled, soft and trembling, "He's alive."

Theo groaned as Scott helped him up. The two ambled closer, with Theo leaning heavily on the alpha. He flashed Stiles a smile and slapped his back, "Don't think I'm that easy, do ya, Stilinski?"

"Nah," Stiles huffed, scrubbing at his face, "You're cheap, not easy." Theo squawked and Scott laughed. Stiles slipped Theo's other arm over his shoulder, "If you were easy, Scott wouldn't have to track every time you miss date night."

With a grumble, Theo groused, "I didn't miss date night." Scott scoffed, eyebrow arching as they carried Theo to the jeep. The chimera wrinkled his nose.

Stiles cut him off before he could argue, clicking his tongue, "It doesn't count as a date if it starts with us dragging your pretty ass out of torture chamber."

"Fine," Theo huffed, eyebrows rolling, "But my pretty ass better still be getting laid."

"Dude, seriously?" Scott sighed, "You almost died! Now is not the time for sex."

With a whine, Theo let his head drop back and his body go limp. Stiles smirked. He caught Scott's eye over the chimera's head.

He pulled out his keys and drawled, "When has that ever stopped any of us though?" Theo cackled as he crawled into the back seat.

"You're both ridiculous!" Scott snapped as he circled around to the passenger side. His lips twitched up though, and Stiles knew that smile.

Theo would get his wish, most definitely. Even if he had to wait til after dinner and a check up from Deaton. They couldn't just let the hunters win now, could they?

Another Chimera!Violet/Theo piece I've been holding onto for a while. This has been a many many hour labor of love that is meant to be part of @spiderraeken and I's currently in progress fic titled Third Time's the Charm which will eventually be finished. Again, very in progress, but we have snippets of it kind of done.

Maybe if people poke us both enough, we'll get more done.

That or we'll put up some of our Violet/Theo/Liam/Brett things. But that's another verse on its own.

Teen Wolf AU: Coydica

'I just wanna not eat lunch alone every day.'

The words sound almost trivial in retrospect, accepting a supernatural bite in exchange for the off chance of friends, but from the start Boyd has known its been about filling something deeper inside himself. The bite had punched his ticket toward freedom — Freedom from isolation, from a resonating guilt, and from an intangible longing that had wrapped itself around his heart like a vice grip. Boyd couldn't have known the dangers that this decision would bring alongside it — the repeated near misses with death, the gut wrenching fears, the pain and suffering it brought — but he knows he would choose the same path time and again because at the end of the day it led him to them. The bite gave Boyd more then a pack or a friendship, it gives him Erica and Cora. And every morning he has the peace of mind knowing when they wake up, they're all safe. He's never been alone since the bite and, he thinks, it's all been worth it.

Scott/Cora/Stiles + "you’re not just gonna let him die like that, are you?"

"You're not just gonna let him..." Stiles stares at Cora. "Die like that? Are you?" Scott had been half-dead when he'd found the way out of their prison. Their captors had enjoyed seeing how far they could push his healing abilities, and he'd volunteered to take Cora's place when they came for her. His skin was crusted with blood when the guards had caught them escaping.

"Go," Scott had rasped, and the fear and adrenaline and Cora physically dragging him away, into the forest.

"Of fucking course not," Cora spits, glaring at Stiles. She finishes pulling the one arrow that had hit from her arm. Thankfully, it's not laced with wolfsbane. "But that self-sacrificing *asshole* wasn't going to cooperate with me while you were still in danger."

"So we're..."

"I am going back. YOU are going to find help and then come back. Big, scary help."

"Like Derek?"

Cora shrugs. "I'd bring Hayden, Malia, and Kira."

Stiles swallows. "Big scary help." "Exactly." Then she pulls him into a kiss. And then a second. "I'll give your second one to Scott, okay?"

"You better. You can't..."

Cora kisses him one more time. "Go. The sooner you get help, the better. I'll take care of him. I promise."

“Hey Erica can I um- talk to you about something?” The blonde nods easily to Scott, motioning him to sit down next to where she’s lounging on Derek’s couch- after the training they did this morning she thinks a little rest is absolutely necessary.

“What’s up Scotty?” His head ducks away with a sheepish smile at the nickname that makes Erica grin.

“Y’know how you’re trans…”

“Yes Scott I’m pretty aware that I’m trans.” A furious blush runs across Scott’s cheeks as he squeezes his eyes shut and nods at Erica’s teasing tone.

“Sorry. I just- I mean- are you comfortable talking about it with me?” Something in Erica’s chest softens when she takes in the nervous look on Scott’s face and his pheromones throwing a waft of worry her way.

“Course, we’re friends so I’ll have no problem telling you off if you say something stupid.” She smirks and feels how Scott eases the smallest bit.

“Right, course, I don’t wanna like offend you or anything, just tell me to shut up y’know.”

“Scott just talk to me, it’s alright I won’t judge and I’m pretty comfortable answering any questions.” After coming out at the ripe age of seven, Erica’s gotten very used to invading questions or hour long discussions back and forth about her gender, and she knows Scott won’t be nearly as abrasive as people in the past.

“I um just wanted to know what made you know? Like what made you think you weren’t a boy?” She had a suspicion this conversation would go this way, and that this conversation would happen at some point. The longer she’s gotten to know Scott the more signs she sees in his behavior and while she’d never push or think she could never be wrong about what she’s seen- she’s been silently waiting to talk to Scott about this.

“My name was the first thing, I don’t know if you remember but it was Edward which is just- yuck even now. But I always wanted something prettier, and my hair longer, and girls clothes instead of boys, and I was always envious of the girls in class. I used to sit and stare at them wishing I could look like that.” Not that she had any idea what envy was in year two but she definitely knew she felt all types of twisted up when her mother would tell her she couldn’t have her hair that long or get the cool light up princess shoes the girls in class had.

“Oh.” Something she said must’ve struck Scott as his brow is furrowed and teeth dug into his bottom lip.

“Can I ask why you’re asking? You don’t have to tell me but, I’m here.” Her voice drops to something soft, the same tone she brings out when Isaac wakes up from nightmares, or when Boyd stresses himself out with school and needs a reminder to take a break, hell- she even reminds Derek to go get some sleep at times.

“I think I sit and stare at Lydia a lot.” Scott’s eyes don’t meet Erica’s as he speaks but she gives a faint smile anyways, reaching to take his hand in hers.

“She is really pretty.” And definitely one of the girls that Erica caught herself staring at when she was younger. Lydia has always been gorgeous, always sure of herself, that energy was captivating and she can’t imagine how much more it is for Scott since they’re friends.

“She wears a lot of colored tights and dresses and her hairs like super long and she wears this sweet perfume that’s so girly it stays in my nose for hours and- sorry. I- I didn’t mean to ramble like that.” One of Scott’s hands runs down his face but Erica shakes her head.

“It’s okay. Do you want to wear colored tights and sweet perfume?” It takes a moment of hesitation before Scott nods but there’s a grin he’s trying to hide that makes Erica’s whole chest warm.

“Maybe not as fancy as the ones Lydia wears but yeah, I do.”

“Then we should buy you some colored tights and sweet perfume and dresses.” She states while standing to put her hands on her hips and laughs a little at the surprised blink Scott gives.

“Right now?”

“Right now Scotty.”

“I like when you call me that.”

“C’mon Scotty, we got clothes to buy.” Erica extends a hand towards Scott that’s quickly taken as a brighter smile breaks over Scott’s face.
